TUK SMITH & THE RESTLESS HEARTS drop new song, 'Girls On The East Side Of Town', debut album out now

TUK SMITH & THE RESTLESS HEARTS have released a brand new single/video, GIRLS ON THE EAST SIDE OF TOWN, another track taken from their debut album, Ballad of A Misspent Youth, which arrives at DSPs today, November 4th via new label, MRG. Stream the album here.

The release from the Nashville band comes in the wake of the album's lead single and title track which romped straight on to playlists at UK rock radio stations, Planet Rock and Primordial Radio, and the follow-up earworm single, Everybody Loves You When You're Dead. Meanwhile, Classic Rock magazine assert "'Ballad Of A Misspent Youth' is never less than exhilarating. Just the way rock'n'roll should be."

The former Biters frontman, Tuk Smith elaborates on the inspiration behind the new song:

"Inspired by true events...This song highlights the escapades of many a poor boy trying to gain entry into the hearts of those untamable East Side Girls."

The album marks Tuk’s return to the studio with Biters producer Dan Dixon.

Check out the video for Girls On The East Side Of Town below.

Stay tuned for more from Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts soon.

About Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts:

Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts are a Nashville-based rock band founded and fronted by former Biters frontman and songwriter, Tuk Smith.

Growing up as an outsider in rural Georgia, Tuk found solace in hardcore punk acts like Black Flag and The Exploited.  From there, he branched out into exploring seventies New York bands like The Dead Boys and New York Dolls, which lead him across the Atlantic, where he embraced British groundbreakers like The Buzzcocks and The Clash. Soon, he was forming his own bands, touring relentlessly and building a following with his high-energy live shows, including his tour of duty as lead singer for Biters, who he fronted for nearly a decade, out of Atlanta, GA.

Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts made their debut at the top of 2020 with the release of their first single, What Kinda Love. Before the pandemic hit and the slate was wiped clean, the band were due to open Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard's impending US Stadium Tour. Now, Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts have found their way back and are ready to deliver rock and roll greatness to the masses once again. Their debut album, Ballad of a Misspent Youth, arrives on 4th November via MRG.

96 BITTER BEINGS' New Album, "Synergy Restored," Out Now !

Los Angeles rock band 96 BITTER BEINGS make their return today with the release of their long-awaited sophomore album, "Synergy Restored." Available now from Nuclear Blast, the riff-heavy record from revered vocalist/guitarist Deron Miller (ex-CKY) and crew is a non-stop thrill-ride of raucous guitars and magnetic melody that pull listeners further in with each play.

Commenting on the record's release, Miller says:

We’re gnawing off our fingers waiting for this album to finally be released after years of prep! The first 3 singles were so well received, and the 'Vaudeville’s Revenge' video is streaming so much more and faster than any video I’ve been in for over 17 years! We are lucky to have such an intimate relationship with our incredible fans, and personally I’m overexcited and nervous. Releasing music is the best feeling in the world especially when you’re so proud of it!

Purchase/Stream "Synergy Restored": https://bfan.link/96BB-SynergyRestored

Upon the album's release, the band has also shared its latest single, "Bloodrock Mania." Watch the visualizer below.

Miller adds about the song:

'Bloodrock Mania' was the song where we all said “ok, this track has taken this album to a whole new level”. What is it about? It’s about what this band and possibly every other up and coming rock and metal hopes and prays for. The mainstream return of bands. Actual groups of people that get together and write and perform music that has an edge. I’d like to see some kind of mainstream resurgence on all the major socials, for all heavier music. What’s out there is not what kids want and they don’t even know it. 'Bloodrock' is anthemic. It’s fun, genre defying and will be a highlight on all future 96BB tours.

Years in the making, 96 BITTER BEINGS' "Synergy Restored" is 11 songs of relentless power and vibe. Four-on-the-floor, fuzzy and visceral, proper rock n’ roll made by an actual band, rather than a bunch of over-processed samples and otherwise stale shenanigans. Songs like “Vaudeville’s Revenge,” “90 Car Pile-Up,” and “Wish Me Dead” offer vivid reminders of the truth-telling prowess of guitars, bass, and drums. Miller is on fire, weaponizing the same knack for memorable musical epiphanies behind projects like Foreign Objects, World Under Blood and CKY.

About 96 BITTER BEINGS:

Deron Miller gives his life to the riff. Unrestrained by industry expectations and genre limitations, the boundlessly prolific guitarist and voice behind multiple beloved projects is best known as the founder, frontman, and songwriter in CKY. His authentic and effortlessly hooky heavy rock obsession returns with 96 BITTER BEINGS. Reinvigorated and ready to rumble all over again, Miller roars back with the same reverence for riffage that made underground hits out of CKY anthems like “Flesh Into Gear,” “Escape from Hellview,” and “Disengage the Simulator” from 1998 till 2011.

The familiar warmth, feel, groove, and unapologetic honesty which drove the song “96 Quite Bitter Beings” to 54 million streams (on Spotify alone) permeates the pair of albums unleashed by 96BB.

A successful crowdfunding campaign saw Miller, guitarist Kenneth Hunter, bassist Shaun Luera and Shaun’s brother, drummer Tim, conjure up 2018’s "Camp Pain" in limited release. North American touring followed, wrapping up shortly before the COVID-19 shutdowns.

After CKY and a short break, I decided to continue, without changing the sound,” Miller explains. “Because that’s what I do. It’s what I love to do and what people say I do well. All of the guys who got in the band with me are great musicians. And each of them is hungry. They have priorities and ambitions about being in a rock band, no matter the grim state of pop music out there. If we can bring rock and metal back to the mainstream, in some way, that’s the dream.

96 BITTER BEINGS Lineup:
Deron Miller - Vocals/Guitar
Kenneth Hunter - Guitar
Shaun Luera - Bass
Tim Luera - Drums

With a front row seat to this wonderfully wild life led by his late parents Lynne and John Wayne, Gavin DeGraw recounts his most meaningful memories and valuable lessons on his seventh full-length offering, Face The River [RCA Records]. Darius Rucker Reveals Forthcoming Album "Carolyn's Boy," Celebrates Milestones on "TODAY"

DARIUS RUCKER JOINS NBC’S “TODAY” TO CELEBRATE MAJOR MILESTONES & PREVIEW FORTHCOMING ALBUM:
CAROLYN’S BOY

“Wagon Wheel” Earns Distinction as Only the Fourth Country Song to Achieve RIAA Diamond Certification as Rucker Celebrates 10 No. 1 Country Singles & 10 Years as a Grand Ole Opry Member

“At the end of the day, I’m really still just Carolyn’s Boy,” three-time GRAMMY Award winner Darius Rucker shares following this morning’s interview with “TODAY” anchor Craig Melvin, during which he exclusively revealed the title of a new solo album planned for 2023 along with the meaningful cover image, a portrait of his late mother Carolyn.

“I wanted to name the record Carolyn’s Boy because Mom never got to see any of my success,” he explained. “She died before any of this happened, so it’s just another homage to the greatest woman I’ve ever known.”

When asked why now is the right time to honor her, Rucker was reflective, conceding, “years ago, I wasn’t really sure what my place in Country music was and I was trying to find it. Now I have found it – I know – and I think it’s time to give that record.”

In addition to looking ahead to the forthcoming album, Rucker also marked several major milestones during the conversation, including his 10-year anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry and his recent 10th No. 1 single at Country radio with “Beers And Sunshine.” Melvin was also on hand for the celebration of a milestone only three other artists have ever achieved in Country music, as “Wagon Wheel” earned RIAA Diamond certification as an 11x Platinum hit.

“Coming into Nashville, to expect anything like that wasn’t even in the cards,” Rucker noted when asked about his reaction to achieving that level of success in Country music. “Here we are now – 15, 16, years in – it’s been a fun run.”

Together with producer Frank Rogers, Rucker also shared an exclusive look at the isolated vocal track of “Wagon Wheel” in addition to previewing new music he is working on now for the project planned for release in 2023. Fans can also get a sneak peek at the new Carolyn’s Boy album with Rucker’s recent releases, “Same Beer Different Problem” and “Ol' Church Hymn” (featuring Chapel Hart), available everywhere now.

For more information, visit DariusRucker.com and follow on social media @DariusRucker.

About Darius Rucker
Rucker first achieved multi-Platinum status in the music industry as lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the GRAMMY Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish, who have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide including their Double Diamond-certified (21x Platinum) debut Cracked Rear View, which remains among the Top 10 best-selling studio albums of all time. Since releasing his first Country album in 2008, Rucker has earned a whole new legion of fans with four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart, including RIAA Platinum-certified Learn to Live and True Believers, plus 10 No. 1 singles at Country radio and 11 Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum certified hits. Rucker was inducted as a Grand Ole Opry member in 2012 and in 2014 he won his third career GRAMMY Award for Best Solo Country Performance with his Diamond-certified (11x Platinum) version of “Wagon Wheel,” one of the Top 5 best-selling Country songs of all time. He co-hosted the 54th annual CMA Awards in 2020 and topped the charts at Country radio once again with “Beers And Sunshine” in 2021. New songs “Same Beer Different Problem” and “Ol’ Church Hymn” (featuring Chapel Hart) are available everywhere now as Rucker puts the finishing touches on a forthcoming album, Carolyn’s Boy, planned for release in 2023.

As a lifelong philanthropist, Rucker co-chaired the capital campaign that generated $150 million to help build the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital in his hometown of Charleston, S.C. and has raised over $3 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through his annual Darius & Friends benefit concert and golf tournament. In addition, Rucker has advocated for over 200 charitable causes supporting public education and junior golf programs in South Carolina through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation and serves as a National Chair for the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, Tenn. Society 1 To Be Rejoined By Ex-Drummer Dagon Destroyer On “Exit Through Fear” 20th Anniversary Tour

Shock Rock veterans Society 1 have announced that their former drummer Dagon Destroyer will be rejoining the band for their upcoming “Exit Through Fear” 20th anniversary tour. A large portion of the dates will be on the "Rise Of The Machines" tour with Static-X, Fear Factory, Mushroomhead and DOPE. Additional shows are still being booked.

The band's most successful album, Exit Through Fear, which was
originally released on Earache Records made an impression in 2003 due
to the first music video of the album to feature lead vocalist LORD ZANEperforming body suspension. Drummer Dagon was featured in the video and did a large portion of the subsequent touring.

"I was 19 years old when we filmed our Nothing music video for the
album Exit Through Fear with Zane suspending over my drumset. The
tours afterward were insane. Everything about Society 1 was insane,
especially for a kid. It's surreal that we're joining forces again
after 20 years and that we're out with Fear Factory and Static-X. It's
a dream for me. These two bands are a huge part of my life." said
Dagon

Gary Moore Official deluxe vinyl album re-issue ‘A Different Beat ’ released on vinyl for the first time on December 2nd 2022

Gary Moore
Official deluxe vinyl album re-issue
‘A Different Beat ’
released on vinyl for the first time
on December 2nd 2022
& Deluxe CD
https://gary-moore.lnk.to/adifferentbeatPR

A Different Beat, was Moore’s 12th solo album, where he explored new areas of blues and rock. This album has never previously been released on vinyl, and contains new liner notes written by Dave Everley. This double vinyl release will be pressed onto transparent orange vinyl and includes bonus track ‘Can’t Help Myself (E-Z Rollers Remix)’. A Different Beat will also be released on CD.

Gary Moore rocked the world of Blues and Rock with his virtuoso guitar playing and soulful voice. Best known for his evocative solo hits, Parisienne Walkways and Still Got the Blues, and his on/off membership of Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore’s solo career comprises over twenty albums. Throughout the 1980s, Gary moved up the rock hierarchy, but turned his back on what he regarded as the empty flash of metal and reverted to his heart music – the blues – where ironically he scored his biggest commercial success through his 1990s and 2000s blues albums.

A Different Beat saw Moore exploring a new direction, in this case combining his signature guitar work with contemporary dance beats. Fusing blues and dance music A Different Beat stands as the boldest thing Moore ever did.

Moore is regarded as one of the most influential Irish musicians of all time. Having been honoured by both Gibson and Fender with signature guitars, the Northern Irish star is still seen as one of the best guitar players of all time.

Hear ye, all mortals of the Twilight Kingdoms! Hear ye!!
During the past few years, Swedish adventure metallers TWILIGHT FORCE have been crafting their new opus At the Heart of Wintervale, which will be released on January 20th via Nuclear Blast. "After what feels like aeons, we can finally proudly unveil the details of our fourth opus:

While the dwarven forges are busy assembling the physical manifestations of the album, we can all use some time to brush up on old incantations, polish dusty daggers, and re-stir murky potions - for this glorious quest will be upon us before we know it, and for that we must be prepared! The breathtaking and dramatic cover artwork is once again created by the brilliantly skilled Kerem Beyit. It depicts the tale told in the title track of the album - where an evil curse is broken, and an ancient dragon may finally roam the realms again, free and unfettered!"

The synthwave reimagining Falsewavetranslates perfectly with the original track’s super moody, midtempo vibes, while Acoustipex haunts with gothic folk/country-western cinematic flavor, breathing new life into the "Apex" title track.

Following the reveal of Falsewave, fans can now experience Acoustipex alongside a new playthrough video!

UNLEASH THE ARCHERS frontwoman Brittney Slayes says:

"We are so excited to share 'Acoustipex' with you all; it's a moody acoustic take on the title track from 'Apex' and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it! It's got a bit of a country vibe, but we added some symphonic elements as well to stay true to the synth theme of the record.

The music video was a challenge because we all live in different cities now, but we had a great time coming up with a concept we think you might appreciate. For those of you that have seen our acoustic version of 'Apex' on YouTube from CTV, you will understand where our inspiration came from lol ;) Make sure to get your pre-orders for the EP in now before they're all gone and let us know what you think!"

Symphonic Metal Icons XANDRIA Announce Upcoming Album “The Wonders Still Awaiting”!

Symphonic Metal Icons XANDRIA Announce Upcoming Album 'The Wonders Still Awaiting', out February 3, 2023 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order Starts NOW!

New Single “Ghosts” + Video Released Today

Following the release of their two latest singles “Reborn” and “You Will Never Be Our God”, symphonic metal icons XANDRIA have finally announced their upcoming new studio album, 'The Wonders Still Awaiting', out February 3, 2023 via Napalm Records.

The legendary German band, founded by mastermind Marco Heubaum, introduces its new lineup after six years of silence. Their first European tour and previous singles proved once and for all that this new arrangement is more than just convincing. With a breath of fresh air and immense talent, XANDRIA re-ascend to the top of the genre, unveiling all wonders still awaiting.

Today, the five-piece have finally released their new single, “Ghosts”, together with a colorful music video that perfectly encompasses the mood of the multifaceted album. Vocalist Ambre Vourvahis not only showcases her creativity as a songwriter, but also her incredible vocal talent - ranging deftly from angelic chants to haunting growls.

XANDRIA on “Ghosts” and the new album:

“Ghosts actually started as a reminiscence to good old Swedish melodic death metal and with that archetypical guitar riff that you hear right in the beginning.

And then we integrated it into our XANDRIA soundscape with lots of film score atmosphere and big choirs, because it was exciting to mix these elements and do our own thing with it (still we kept the working title "Swedish Fire" for a long time...).

It is a good example for how diverse the new album will be and how many different influences we were putting into it. We had a lot of things - little musical dreams - in our minds and hearts that we wanted to realize, and along with what you already heard in the first two new songs this is just one of them. There will be quite some more surprises coming...”

Watch the video for “Ghosts”

'The Wonders Still Awaiting' marks the first record presenting new vocalist Ambre Vourvahis, Robert Klawonn (guitars), Tim Schwarz (bass) and Dimitrios Gatsios(drums).

Presenting 13 songs in total, XANDRIA's sound emerges harder, darker and more epic than ever before, but holds an intimate setting and range of emotions at the same time. Rich in different styles and genres, the massive album resembles that of a blockbuster movie score at each and every turn - sending its listener on an exciting journey to experience a world of sound never heard before in the universe of XANDRIA.

This is further brought to life by a 40-piece classical choir, authentic Celtic instruments performed by renowned musicians, and delicate violin and cello contributions from SUBWAY TO SALLY's Ally Storch. The new record is topped by the Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir, which marks the first collaboration of this kind in the band's history, while none other than Lukas Knöbl is responsible for the orchestrations on 'The Wonders Still Awaiting' - known for working with Hollywood greats like Roland Emmerich, for example. Each song’s colossal soundscapes and cinematic nature create a story that rapidly unfolds in the listener's imagination.

Pre-Order your copy NOW!

The impressive vocal wealth of Ambre Vourvahis - ranging from rock grit, operatic highs and even death metal growls - opens the unit’s sound to a wider palette of colors. Songs like the opening epic “Two Worlds”, The Wonders Still Awaiting and Ghostsmanifest the thematic mood of the album while constructing incredible soundscapes of pure symphonic metal.

"Two Worlds also sets the record's lyrical concept, dealing with questions of what kind of world we are living in; one in which people deal sensibly with each other and treat it respectfully, or a dystopia dominated by autocrats and controlling technology?

Paradise” showcases some of the album’s strongest hooks, captivating with great metallic pop melodies. The veil of various influences is lifted once more in “Illusion Is Their Name”, dashing all deception with heavy power metal vibes.

Tracks like “Your Stories I'll Remember” and “Scars” show the intimate side of XANDRIA on one hand, while combining rhythmic heaviness on the other. The latter is reminiscent of a James Bond theme, dressed in a heavy musical soundscape.

The epic nine-minute album closer Astéria, featuring Greek lyrics written by Ambre Vourvahis, lands as the album’s exclamation point, proving with a grand finish that the five-piece has fearlessly started a revolution in the symphonic metal genre - commencing an impressive new era of XANDRIA with 'The Wonders Still Awaiting'.

'The Wonders Still Awaiting' will be available in the following formats:

=> 1CD Jewelcase

=> 2CD Mediabook

=> 2LP Gatefold BLUE/BLACK MARBLED

=> Deluxe Box (incl. 2CD Mediabook, Heat-Change XANDRIA Mug, Flower Ball Box (2 pcs.) incl. 1€ donation to "Eden Reforestation Projects", Album Cover Patch (⌀10cm), excl. Golden "Meet & Greet" Ticket (strictly ltd. to 10 pcs.), excl. Autograph Card, packed to a high-quality wooden box)

GREEN LUNG Sign To Nuclear Blast Records

‘This is heavy metal how it should be done' - The Guardian

‘Huge, swinging riffs, wailing vocals that split the difference between Ozzy and Dio and really catchy keyboard lines that give a symphonic flair' - Revolver

‘Surges with all the druggy riffs and spooky psychedelia you could ever want' - Metal Hammer

‘One hell of a trip' - Kerrang!

Rising psych-occultists GREEN LUNG have announced their signing to NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. The band's rich blend of proto-metal and doom laden hard rock, steeped in distinctly British folklore has proven a monumental hit across their debut EP Free The Witch (2018 - listen here) and two critically acclaimed albums Woodland Rites (2019 -listen here) and Black Harvest (2021).

Watch the re-released video for 'Let The Devil In' below.

Vocalist, Tom Templar comments on the signing:
"We're incredibly excited to partner with the team at Nuclear Blast to usher in the next era of Green Lung. Over the past five years we've gone from playing DIY basement shows and selling our music on home-taped cassettes to playing international festivals and working with the world's biggest metal label, and that's entirely down to the support and enthusiasm of our endearingly cult-like fanbase. We can't thank you all enough for your faith and support in getting us to this point, and rest assured we're only just getting started. We've spent the past few months hoping to repay the debt by writing our most ambitious album yet, and look forward to getting back into the studio to record it. But before then, we'll be embarking on our biggest tour to date, supporting Clutch across the UK and Europe this November and December. Come, join our rites!"

Senior A&R, Nathan Barley Phillips states:
"I was lucky enough to catch Green Lung play at London's infamous Black Heart venue right before the covid lockdown kicked in during early 2020... I then spent two long years desperately waiting for another opportunity, thanking the blesséd wheat-weaving gods when Desertfest rolled around again in early 2022 and the stars of the goatwizard finally aligned.

This band has riffs for days and I am so proud and excited to welcome them to Nuclear Blast. A special thanks to AMF Music Publishing for helping to make this happen - I can't wait to see what we can all achieve together!"

2022 has seen GREEN LUNG excel on the live circuit, at both their own headline shows and performances at the likes of Roadburn, Mystic Festival, Desertfest and Freak Valley Festival. They will be rounding out their most successful year to date with a set atDamnation Festival in November, and an extensive tour across Europe and the UK alongside CLUTCH this winter.

Son of the Dirty South Tour Continues Tonight Before the Georgia-Native

Multi-Platinum country star Brantley Gilbert is the first to admit he’s meticulous when it comes to writing and releasing new music, tinkering and tweaking things until he feels he’s found the best way to serve the song and the project.

“I’ve always taken a little longer than most artists, especially in this genre, to put an album out and that’s partly to do with me being a perfectionist,” Gilbert prefaces. “But we’ve been looking forward to getting this album out for a long time. I’ve been blessed to sit down with some of the best writers in the country, and I feel like we’ve written some wonderful stuff.”

Armed with a 10-track collection that meets the Georgia-native’s standards, Gilbert announces his long-awaited new album So Help Me God via The Valory Music Co., set for digital release Thursday, November 10. Pre-save the album HERE.

“In the past, my albums were almost direct reflections, direct chapters of my life,” shares Gilbert. “Whatever I’d gone through since I wrote the last record would make its way onto the new album. There’s still some of that with So Help Me God since I’m a co-writer on all the songs – it’s been three years since the last release and a lot of life lived. But I feel like this album is more of a mixtape of great songs.

“We wanted to put songs that sounded good together, but also songs that covered a wide variety of genre influences,” Gilbert elaborates. “There’s a lot of different songwriting styles on the album. We’re super excited about it, and I can’t wait for BG Nation to hear what we’ve been working on.”

With the release of So Help Me God also comes Gilbert’s newest single headed to Country radio on November 14, “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill. Co-written with Brock Berryhill, Michael Hardy, Jake Mitchell, Randy Montana, Hunger Phelps and Taylor Phillips, the album opener highlights a way of life that can often feel like it’s disappearing, as the pace of everyday life continues to speed up.

When they pave all the dirt roads
And John Deeres are dinosaurs
When the last back 40 gets sold
And young boys don’t open doors
When you can’t hunt a white tail
And keep what you reel in
Well, I hope I’m in heaven by then

No, I don’t wanna go today but I don’t wanna live
Down here at a place that thinks that that place don’t exist
There comes a day this country’s somewhere country don’t fit in
Hell, I hope I’m in heaven by then

“We were on a writing retreat in Texas that we do every year, and everybody was out on the porch. I don’t remember who threw a word in here or there and who didn’t, so we ended up with a bunch of writers on ‘Heaven By Then,’” Gilbert notes. “And I love songs like that. It came out of a conversation. A guitar ended up in HARDY’s lap, which is usually a good sign that it’s about to turn into something special. I think we all knew that as it was being written. It came to life that night.

“To have Blake Shelton and Vince Gill on the song meant so much to me. Those two brought so much to the table and gave it a voice I didn’t have. We were all in separate places when we recorded, but it was a cool way for everyone to put their spin on it. They just did what felt natural and sonically you hear that,” he concludes.

As the Son Of The Dirty South Tour with “Son Of The Dirty South” collaborator Jelly Roll continues tonight, Gilbert’s co-headlining tour with Five Finger Death Punch kicks off November 9 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and continues through December 17, wrapping in Las Vegas, Nevada. For tickets and more information, visit BrantleyGilbert.com.

As a longtime supporter and advocate for service men and women, Gilbert continues championing veterans through his latest partnership with Nine Line Apparel for an exclusive shirt design, which will benefit Nine Line Foundation.

About Brantley Gilbert
With back-to-back Platinum albums and a grassroots following millions strong, Brantley Gilbert’s music has been shared, covered and adopted as the soundtrack to Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. The Georgia native who started as the defiant life-of-the-party can still go ‘til sunrise, but he’s also emerged as something far greater: the leader of a massive tribe of hard-working, fun-loving believers for whom electric guitar-shredding, rapping, and twang can go hand-in-hand-in-hand. They call themselves the BG Nation, and when the BG Nation watches Gilbert on a stage, they don’t just see a star. They see themselves. Seven No. 1 hits punctuate his career: “Country Must be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” CMA Awards Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kinda Party,” RIAA 5x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” “One Hell of an Amen” and collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town.” Gilbert’s landmark record Just As I Am clinched the 2014 American Music Award for Favorite Country Album. Earning praise from the New York Times, NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Gilbert has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all of his albums. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten new father––just as he is. His upcoming album So Help Me God is set for November 10 via The Valory Music Co. and features his forthcoming single “Heaven By Then” with Blake Shelton featuring Vince Gill. Gilbert will embark on a co-headlining tour with Five Finger Death Punch November 9 for their 22-date U.S. run that wraps December 17. LISA BODNAR AND WHISTLEGRASS RELEASE LONG AWAITED NEW ALBUM 40 YEARS IN THE DESERT

LISA BODNAR AND WHISTLEGRASS RELEASE LONG AWAITED NEW ALBUM, 40 YEARS IN THE DESERT, AND CELEBRATE WITH A SPECIAL SHOW AT THE ROXY THEATRE, NORTHAMPTON, PA.

Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, which includes Lisa Bodnar’s home city of Allentown, has certainly seen some trying times. Lisa, who’s endured some trying times of her own, has inherited some of that defiantly optimistic, won’t-be-beaten-down Lehigh Valley grit. This grittiness weaves its way through moving, beautifully crafted songs that comprise her brand-new release 40 Years in the Desert. Her debut album, Maybe I Did, was released in 2003 to instant acclaim and even charted on college and triple-A radio in the mid-2000s. The sophomore album, Come Hell or High Water, fared even better, garnering four Grammy nominations: Best New Artist; Best Pop Vocal Album; Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical; and Producer of the Year.

40 Years in the Desert is out now through Deko Entertainment and features eleven brand new songs. The first two singles “The Best That I Can” and “She Kneels” have racked up over 45,000 streams and show no signs of slowing down. “The Best That I Can” also has an accompanying video that was filmed in and around her hometown of Allentown. It was directed by Ace Bouchard, son of founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, Albert Bouchard.

To celebrate the release of 40 Years in the Desert, Lisa Bodnar and Whistlegrass will be playing the Roxy Theatre in Northampton, PA, on November 4. As Lisa states, "This concert will be a celebration of the release of 40 Years in the Desert, and also a community event to raise funds for an incredible organization that provides youth, health and arts programs that benefit the LGBT community in the Lehigh Valley and throughout Pennsylvania." Just in time for the Halloween season, they have also released a lyric video aptly titled “Feeding Time.”

Isafjørd Release New Single & Video for "Mín Svarta Hlið"

Isafjørd, meaning literally fjord of ice, is a shining new ethereal post-rock band from Iceland.

Named after the town that both of their fathers came from, Ísafjörður, Aðalbjörn Addi Tryggvason (Sólstafir) and Ragnar Zolberg (Sign/x-Pain of Salvation) sculpt beautiful and desolate pop, as bright and dark as the sub-arctic seasons.

Isafjørd’s new album “Hjartastjaki” is an infectious rush of euphoric melancholy, quiet-loud dynamism, lush instrumentation and unforgettable atmospheric landscapes of song.

Meeting on the road, night creatures of the same renowned Reykjavik music scene, Ragnar playing live session bass for Sólstafir, Addi and Ragnar’s musical paths finally intersect in Isafjørd with a sound that reaches like a stalactite from the past into a gleaming future.

Holed up in the middle of winter, in an old house with a broken piano in the freezing cold, 'Hjartastjaki' is an album of songs that were written straight from the heart, sometimes in a single day.

Watch the Official Video for "Mín Svarta Hlið"

Their chemistry as immediate as the climate they survive in, Isafjørd is a real meeting of spirits, with Ragnar’s sleek and cherubim voice a brilliant counterpoint to Addi’s dusty and aching cries, over orchestrated build-ups of soaring piano and sliding guitars. The catchy and haunting music that Addi and Ragnar create in Isafjørd is at once familiar in that lived-in, well-worn way a great song can touch your soul.

Having both lived in Norway and speaking Norwegian, Addi and Ragnar speak the same language of the heart, as their Nordic melancholy makes for deep and mountainous music. Isafjørd’s songs are sincere icebergs of tundra-anthems that bring to mind Fields of the Nephilim and Duran Duran jamming in a frozen valley, where the creative 80s New Wave meets GodSpeed You Black Emperor. With influences that range from Cardigans, Beatles, early Judas Priest and Neil Young, Addi and Ragnar have struck a vein of gold that crystallizes their own heritage of wide-screen Metal gloom into something new.

Now coming of age, matured into a shimmering diamond of Icelandic pop at its finest, Isafjørd is on another plain from Addi’s own Sólstafir, where their cinematic metal roots have been re-traced into sweeping glacial song-craft. A country known for their honest and heart–wrenching emotional take on pop music with Björk and Sigur Rós, Isafjørd gives a new definition of “landscape music”.

When an album feels like a place you want to inhabit and experience, 'Hjartastjaki' is a journey that you’re going to want to take.

Pre-Order 'Hjartastjaki' HERE

About their first single "Falin Skemmd", Addi says, "This song is about freeing yourself from a toxic relationship and moving on to a brighter future.” Listen HERE

BLACK MARKET KARMA and TESS PARKS present trippy chilled ‘The Sky Was All Diseased'

UK-based Black Market Karma and iconic vocalist Tess Parks present 'The Sky Was All Diseased', an international collaboration rooted in friendship and spontaneity. This is the first taste of the band's eleventh full-length album 'Friends In Noise', which will be released in mid-January via London boutique label Flower Power Records.

This release follows the band's recently-released ‘Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP, a loaded 11-track offering with a fluid texture of beach-soaked instrumentation. Themes ranging from the sycophantic circles that leach from the arts, desperately attempts to stay spiritually close to a distant love, Japanese folklore, and the deep connection between man and beast.

"Tess and I first met in 2014 when she reached out and sent a very kind message about my music. I dug what she was doing too so, upon her arrival to the UK, we met up and became friends, touring a fair bit together in the following years around Europe. During the downtime, we would often hang out at my studio," says Black Market Karma mastermind Stanley Belton.

"I'd had the groove and music to this song floating around in my brain for a while, but had no lyrics or vocal part. I happened to play it one time we were at the studio together and I drop into my own world when I’m making things up, but after a while I noticed Tess out of the corner of my eye scribbling down lyrics. She started humming a melody to herself and I loved what she was doing so we went with it. I added in one more verse with an different vocal melody and a few lines at the end of the song and there it was - 'The Sky Was All Diseased'. I laid the music down a few days later and recorded Tess' vocals which became the track as you hear it now”

Tess Parks adds, "I guess this was written in 2014? 2015? While I was living in Dartford, a few doors down from Stan. We had a few very nice sessions at Stan's studio, where we pretty much instantly wrote a few really cool songs. It's been 8 years and the time has finally come!!! I'm excited to share this. This song seems to be a reflection on the weather at the time."

Hailing from London and now residing on the South coast of England, Black Market Karma offers a colourful carousel of jingle jangle and distorted wobble. With broader flavours of psychedelia, fuzzed out tones and thumping grooves, their thick and colourful sound is shaped by the use of a lot of vintage equipment. Rooted in 60's guitar and pop music, other influences include folk, blues, lo-fi electronica, alt pop and soul.

Technically nine years in the making, 'Friends In Noise' is a series of collaborations between Black Market Karma and friends. Apart from Tess Parks, this album also involves The Underground Youth, Les Big Byrd / Joakim Ahlund, The Confederate Dead and Ruari Meehan. More recently, Stan has also been collaborating with Pete Kember (a.k.a. Sonic Boom) of Spacemen 3 on a forthcoming release.

As of November 2, 'The Sky Was All Diseased' will be available everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. The full 'Friends In Noise' album (out January 13) can be ordered on 180-gram coloured vinyl from the label, as can their latest 'Aped Flair & Hijacked Ideas' LP.

DELUXE VERSION OF LATEST ALBUM

'CONQUERING' IN THE WORKS

Employed To Serve are set to reveal a music video for "Sun Up To Sun Down", taken from their current studio album, 'Conquering'

Watch it Below

Guitarist Sammy Urwin says, "This video was shot on the first leg of our tour with Gojira and Alien Weaponry this summer. We knew that we were going to film some footage on the tour for a music video, but what song we'd use it for wasn't decided. After the first couple of shows, we could sense that the crowds were really connecting with 'Sun Up To Sun Down'. We decided that we would try and capture as best we could the energy shared between us and the audience, and thanks to the help of our talented friend and videographer Taylor Baron, I think we've done just that."

"The song itself is about addiction and depression," adds frontwoman, Justine Jones. "The repetition within the song is meant to symbolize the feeling of being in the throes of despair, begging for the day to end and to have some reprieve from intense craving and anxiety, only for it to start over again with no end in sight."

The band will tour Europe with Gojira in February has announced to appear at both Jera On Air festival and Copenhell next summer.

'Conquering' was released via Spinefarm last year to massive critical acclaim; landing #4 on Metal Hammer's albums of the year list and #6 on Kerrang!, 'Conquering' is a fully realized metamorphosis into the band they've always wanted to be.

A deluxe version of 'Conquering' is currently in the works for release in early 2023. Further details will be revealed in due course.
