Bobby Jensen and The Dead Cowboys Release the Animated Music Video for The Lake.

The Dead Cowboys want to let everyone know that because of confusion over the band name they are now known as Bobby Jensen and The Dead Cowboys. To celebrate the slight name change Bobby is releasing The Lake the first in a series of four music videos taken from the debut album. The video was done by Andy Pilkington who did the Judas Priest Painkiller video.

Bobby Jensen shares his reasoning for the name change, “The name change came about because over the course of the 20 years since I trademarked the name, Dead Cowboys, other groups around the country had started to use the name so there was confusion with talent, buyers, and fans when they would Google the name and be brought to somebody else’s page. I could have chased them all down and given them cease and desist orders but I kind of had a moment of clarity and felt like the name and the idea and concept had run its course and honestly wasn’t working out to be what I intended it to be again.

It was a great thing that we did as a band years ago, but even when recreating it, it wasn’t the same. More importantly, my own name had grown to be much bigger with tens of thousands of followers already following me as Bobby Jensen, especially since the world knows me from the viral hair fire video as Paul Stanley of KISS so I decided to use my own name and title the album “Dead Cowboys”. Now the legend can live on in the songs and I can create the stories with a lot more freedom and not get the band stereotyped into one thing.”

Talking about the new music video, Bobby adds, “The Lake came about when my friend Mike stopped over and was running some ideas of his own that he had come up with and I honestly don’t remember anything about what he came up with except for the first line of the song was “He sees dead cowboys wait in the night looking to rob a train”, and “boom goes to the dynamite”. Those two things stuck in my head for a while, and I thought it would be cool to have a song about a train robbery so while noodling on my guitar, I came up with the music and the lyrics. Not really knowing what to call the song. I decided to call it “The Lake” since that’s where everybody dies.

The video was done by Andy Pilkington who did the Judas Priest Painkiller video. He has worked with Saxon, Dee Snider, Motorhead and more. He did the first two videos for “bad friends and good times“ and “super country cowboy”. While we were discussing other songs and ideas, I mentioned to him that some of these stories could actually fit together as continuations of the video so he really liked the idea and we took four songs to become the saga of the demon desperado. It will be a four part video that may be a continuation with other songs in the future. That’s where the freedom of the creativity to write songs about the demon desperado and the dead cowboys I had mentioned earlier. Maybe someone would make them into movies someday.”

Following the days of a young girl named Ellie, amidst the struggles of an absent mother, a baby brother and poverty, something more sinister soon takes hold of her life. When one evening her estranged father knocks on her bedroom window, what seems like a comforting dream begins to turn sour as this familial figure is perhaps not so familiar after all.

Told through the eyes of a child trying to make sense of a world that’s forgotten her, The Hollow One is a literary horror story about longing, memory, and the quiet danger of being unseen. IATT Announce New Single "Drift Away" From Forthcoming Album Etheric Realms of the Night

Philadelphia progressive extreme metal visionaries IATT unveil "Drift Away", the first single from their upcoming full length album Etheric Realms of the Night, out May 8, 2026 on Black Lion Records. Accompanied by a cinematic music video, the track serves as the opening chapter of the album’s overarching narrative and its companion film, guiding listeners into the shifting terrain between waking consciousness and the dream world.

"Drift Away" begins in an unexpected place of calm. Gentle acoustic guitar and expressive flute lines create a sense of weightlessness, capturing the moment when the body relaxes and the mind begins to slip beyond the physical world. TOMBS to Headline Northeast Tour w/ REPLICANT

New Jersey experimental metal collective TOMBS will be embarking on a headlining run on the Northeast of the U.S. and Canada next month with support from REPLICANT! The trek will kick off on March 25 in Philadelphia, PA and will make its way North through the final stop in Albany, NY on March 29. "Arrival" is a fast-moving heavy metal track built on a driving power groove and relentless momentum. The song blends classic galloping metal with modern weight, combining the forward motion of IRON MAIDEN, the density of MASTODON, and the aggressive vocal delivery associated with NUCLEAR ASSAULT. It is melodic, intense, and focused on propulsion rather than excess.

The lyrics take inspiration from the alien abduction sequence in the cult film Fire in the Sky, specifically the fear and helplessness of being taken without control over what happens next. That scenario becomes an allegory for impending doom and moments when resistance is no longer possible, leaving only the option to endure what is coming. In that sense, the song also reflects the tension of what lies ahead on the rest of the album.

As the opening track and title track, "Arrival" establishes the tone and intent of Arrival. It functions as a declaration of presence and direction, setting expectations with a balance of melody, heaviness, and groove. The song serves as both an entry point and a warning, preparing listeners for what follows.

About ACIDOSIS

ACIDOSIS is a heavy metal band originally formed in Miami by Ben Katzman and Diego Edsel during high school. Rooted in thrash, punk, and traditional metal, the band channels the spirit of teenage rebellion through sharpened musicianship and a love of riffs that hit hard and stay stuck in your head. Ever since they emerged from Greece’s underground catacombs, Unverkalt have been drawn to the edge. Scotland's ibex-obsessed blackened thrash bastard of Hades, otherwise known as HELLRIPPER, is now unleashing the electrifying title track from his upcoming fourth studio album, 'Coronach,' which will be released worldwide on March 27, 2026 via Century Media Records, making it his debut to the label! Hellripper’s mastermind, guitarist/vocalist and songwriter James McBain comments, “A coronach is a vocal lament traditionally performed at funerals in the Scottish highlands. Intertwined with my own words is the poem of the same name by Sir Walter Scott, which served as an inspiration for this story: the funeral of an ambivalent and mysterious figure, revered by his community for his heroic deeds but whose life hid many dark secrets. As well as lyrically, the track is also a musical experiment for me; it was primarily influenced by late 80’s thrash metal along with bands like Bathory, Gallowbraid and Atlantean Kodex. A dash of post-punk, a fair amount of Iron Maiden-style guitar harmonies, some classical references and the haunting wail of the bagpipes fading in the distance: this song feels like the perfect farewell to the album."

The Hu Announce Spring 2026 Tour With Apocalyptica

The 2026 concert calendar just got even busier for Hunnu Rock pioneers The Hu and Cello Metal standouts Apocalyptica, as both bands announce today that they'll be hitting the road for a run of shows this May and June. The tour kicks off on May 12 in Silver Spring, MD and will take them across the country before wrapping in Anaheim, CA on June 7. Joining The Hu and Apocalyptica will be platinum-selling Finnish rock band The Rasmus.

Public on-sale for the tour will begin Friday, February 13 at 10AM local time. Official artist pre-sales for The Hu and Apocalyptica will be available starting Wednesday, February 11 at 10AM local time through Thursday, February 12 at 11:59PM. Venue pre-sales will be available from Thursday, February 12 from 10AM to 11:59PM local time. Special VIP packages, including meet and greet experiences and exclusive merchandise, will also be available for purchase.

In addition to closing all shows on this tour, The Hu are celebrating the recent release of their latest single "The Real You," which is "the representation of our new album, The Hun," says Temka – Temuulen N (band's tovshuur player, throat singer). "While we have traditional songs that have our signature rhythm in our third album, there are few upbeat, fast songs such as this single. We recorded this song thinking of our ancestors, riding fast on the horse back through the landscape. "The Real You" is one of the few songs from The Hu in which Western music components are prominent. As evident in the wording, the song is asking the listeners to not judge others but focus on themselves and to become a better person. Derived from the Mongolian proverb, "Don't worry about what is on top of a person's head, just worry about what is not on yours."

Formed in 1993 at the world-renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, Apocalyptica began life as a loving, lo-fi nod to Metallica from four classically trained musicians with no greater ambition than to explore their favorite band's music with their chosen instrument. The project would take on a life of its own when they finally released Plays Metallica By Four Cellos in 1996. Unbeknownst to Apocalyptica, they'd just boarded a rocket ship that would propel them through eight rapturously received records, a staggering six million records sold, and a relentless touring schedule that would see them bringing their uniquely symphonic concept of heaviness to every time zone and countless festival stages around the world. TYLER BOOTH SIGNS WITH JAMEY JOHNSON'S BIG GASSED RECORDS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AVERAGE JOES ENTERTAINMENT

Kentucky singer/songwriter Tyler Booth has signed with Jamey Johnson’s Big Gassed Records in a joint venture with Average Joes Entertainment and has finalized a management agreement with The Erv Woolsey Company.

Booth, known for his baritone voice and traditional country sound with a modern twist, will release new music very soon.

Raised in Campton, Ky., (pop. 316), he shares the musical DNA with other artists from Eastern Kentucky, such as Loretta Lynn, The Judds, Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam, Ricky Skaggs, Patty Loveless and many more.

“I feel like I embody all the Appalachia,” says Booth, who now lives in Pikeville, Ky. (pop. 7,754). “That’s one of the biggest parts of me, just being from here and learning from people. I’ve always tried to keep my roots. A lot of my family were coal miners and served in the military. It made me who I am, so I love it.”

After playing festivals in high school and attending Morehead State, he recorded an EP, Make It to Mexico, and the video for “Hank Crankin’ People” received more than 1 million views. In 2020, he signed a joint venture with Sony Music Nashville and Villa40 and released songs including “Long Comes a Girl” and “Where the Livin’ Is.” His song “Palomino Princess” garnered more than 22 million streams on Spotify alone. 

Booth has toured with Brantley Gilbert, Darius Rucker and Dwight Yoakam and recorded with Brooks & Dunn on “Lost and Found” on their 2019 Reboot album.

“I’ve had a record deal before and I learned a lot from it,” says Booth, who moved from Nashville back to Kentucky and immersed himself in songwriting for the last five years. “Before that, I started playing shows at 16. My life has always been centered around music. I think this is going to be a great year!”

Jeremy Popoff of the band Lit heard Booth perform one of Johnson’s songs and introduced him to Johnson, one of his musical heroes. “I have been a fan of his since I began listening to music and have been covering his songs for years,” Booth says. 

Johnson invited Booth to join his tour and perform “Bring on the Neon” together, a song recorded by Booth and written with Johnson and Popoff. “Jamey is all about the music,” Booth says. “He loves music, and I do too. That is why we have that connection. He is really laid back and goes with the flow, and I am too. I feel like music is supposed to be that way.”

Johnson formed Big Gassed Records in 2014 to record and release the kind of music he wanted and now extends the opportunity to other artists, such as Chris Hennessee and Whatley & Co. Johnson has long been focused on helping other artists, and especially mentoring new artists, and this label is a way for Johnson to do that on a much larger scale.

“He is a wonderful singer and a great songwriter and he deserves to be heard,” Johnson says. “When I found out that he was off the label, I called him up and told him, ‘Keep writing. Keep your head up. Stay busy. Keep recording and let’s see what happens.’ 

“He called me after he had recorded some songs and I listened to a few of them. He even asked me to sing on one with him. When I heard what he had been working on, I knew he was ready. He just needs an opportunity.”

In partnership with Big Gassed Records, Booth now joins the Average Joes Entertainment roster that includes Colt Ford, Eddie Montgomery, Bryan Martin, Creed Fisher and Josh Mirenda.

IAN MUNSICK EXPANDS EAGLE FLIES FREE TOUR WITH 10 DATES ADDED THROUGH SUMMER 2026

As Ian Munsick readies new music in 2026, the Wyoming native is continuing to build on his third studio album, expanding his Eagle Flies Free Tour with 10 new dates through Summer 2026. Country music hitmaker and Army Reserve soldier Craig Morgan will return to Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on November 7, 2026 to headline his hometown’s famed venue. Haste the Day Announce New Album "Dissenter" Out 5/1 + Share "Shallows" Visualizer

HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the video for the new song "Burn." They also appeared at Furnace Fest that year. It was their first music in nearly a decade.

But they didn't stop there. Not a chance! 

Today, the band is thrilled to announce its new album DISSENTER, which arrives May 1 on Solid State Records. It's their first album since 2015. Pre-order it here.

"'Shallows' captures the core of what we set out to create on this record — aggressive, melodic metalcore," the band says. "Driven by high-energy riffs, heavy breakdowns, and a memorable chorus, the song balances nostalgia with contemporary influence. Lyrically, it confronts disillusionment, corruption, and the cost of defiance."

Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. The Indiana-bred band rekindles the spark at the heart of their signature style by sharpening the edges, tightening the melodies, and amplifying the scope with cinematic ambition. Haste The Day have clung to their integrity since initially emerging at the turn of the century. Following Burning Bridges [2004] and When Everything Falls [2005], Stephen made his formal debut as the group's frontman on Pressure The Hinges [2007]. The band unleashed a trio of fan favorite offerings, namely Dreamer [2008], the seminal Attack Of The Wolf King [2010], and Coward [2015]. The latter marked their second straight Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and second Top 10 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Along the way, they toured with everyone from Hollywood Undead to Norma Jean. Despite going dormant in 2016, they amassed tens of millions of streams and continued to resonate with an ever-expanding audience. As such, their 2023 reunion gig at the sold-out Furnace Fest was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. Returning with their first full-length release in eleven years, the musicians tap into who they were and push forward together on their seventh LP, Dissenter [Solid State].

Genre-blending and bending New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") further tap into their heightened pop sensibilities with their cover of Bad Bunny's "qué pasaría" — which arrives just in time for the Super Bowl, where Bad Bunny will serve as the Halftime Show entertainment!

"I have such a deep love for Spanish music and my culture in general, so this song always stuck out to me," says singer Joey Tyler. "There's something incredibly sexy and forbidden about the original, and I definitely tried my hardest to translate that in my own way! It makes me think that I should just fully commit to doing Spanish songs at some point. We'll see!"

"'Murder Scene' explores eating disorders, body dysmorphia, self-doubt, and how dreams can become nightmares when the same people who once cheered for you are now criticizing you," says singer and songwriter Amanda Lyberg. "The dream of being on stage comes with a spotlight on my personal flaws. I'm just a body. To be picked apart and judged and perceived. Anxiety is a liar in my head. It tells me I'm not good enough to be here. So, I fight it. I changed my name and my image to prove it wrong. Still the anxiety gets louder. I think it's trying to kill me. In a world so desensitized, it feels like death has been redefined as a minor inconvenience. I'm insecure about my body so anxiety might win. My skin is crawling, and every part of my body feels wrong. Maybe I'll call a doctor and get it altered. Maybe if I don't eat, I'll feel better."

"Murder Scene" is the follow-up to the blistering and inspirational anthem "Awakening," released October 17 via Better Noise Music. It was the first taste of new music in two years from the Detroit, MI quintet.
  

For all of EVA UNDER FIRE's new music, Amanda drew on her career as a licensed therapist to foster an open dialogue among the band members, empowering everyone to be heard during the recording. Her work in therapy started in 2018 when she graduated with a Master of Arts in Psychology degree and went on to work at a mental health clinic in Detroit, Transcendence Behavioral Health (owned by Dr. Stephanie Williams). That same year, her father passed away due to a fentanyl overdose. Her mother survived the same batch that killed her father and has been sober for the past six years. In addition to her thriving and busy music career, Amanda is currently a practicing psychotherapist specializing in trauma work, grief and loss, and addiction recovery.

Her story turned into a 2023 short film, My Rockstar, which used EVA UNDER FIRE music throughout, and has won over 20 awards in several film fests including Orlando Film Fest, Wild Rivers Film Festival, Toronto WILDfilm Festival, and many others.

In touring news, EVA UNDER FIRE will hit the road for a six-week U.S. tour with Jeris Johnson and Butcher Babies starting February 8 in Portland, OR. Later this summer, EVA UNDER FIRE has been announced as a support act tour along with Cody Jinks for Five Finger Death Punch’s 20th Anniversary World Tour 2026.

KING ULTRAMEGA Release Tribute Cover of "Preaching The End Of The World" Honoring Chris Cornell and Supporting MusiCares

KING ULTRAMEGA have released a powerful new single, a cover of "Preaching The End Of The World", recorded in loving memory of Chris Cornell while raising funds and awareness for MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s nonprofit that provides mental health services, addiction recovery support, and emergency assistance to members of the music community.

Originally written and performed by Chris Cornell, "Preaching The End Of The World" remains one of the most emotionally resonant songs of his solo career. The new interpretation from KING ULTRAMEGA preserves the emotional core of the original while expanding its sonic landscape with layered guitars, cinematic keyboards, and a dynamic, atmospheric arrangement.

The recording features vocals by Ian Thornley of BIG WRECK, guitars by Pete Thorn, bass by Mark Menghi, keyboards and synth by Dave Kerzner and Frank Mitaritonna, and drums by Kenny Aronoff. The track was produced by Mark Menghi, engineered by Frank Mitaritonna, Dave Kerzner and Mark Menghi, mixed and mastered by Josh Wilbur, with cover artwork and video created by Costin Chioreanu. Speaking about joining the project, Ian Thornley said, "Pete Thorn is a dear friend and fellow Canadian who I know played with Chris Cornell for many years. He’s a great musician, and we’re always looking for projects to do together, so it was a quick ‘yes’ from me."

Kenny Aronoff shared, "I wanted to be part of this project because I know Mark was involved, and I’ve always been a huge fan of anything Chris Cornell on so many levels. ‘Preaching The End Of The World’ is an amazingly beautiful song, and Chris’s vocal performance is one of the most passionate and emotional vocal performances I have ever heard."

Producer and bassist Mark Menghi reflected on the song’s meaning, saying, "It’s a song about loneliness and searching for connection, something I can relate to. Just listen to the lyrics of this song. Chris is authentic, emotional, and vulnerable."

Pete Thorn also looked back on performing the song live with Cornell. "‘Preaching The End Of The World’ is a beautiful song that I always enjoyed performing with Chris during my time on tour with him. I remember a show in Tel Aviv where he talked about writing it during a dark time, but ended by saying, ‘but I made it!’ I always think about that in a positive way. He made it for a long time, and we should all be thankful for that."

Discussing the musical direction, Menghi added, "When I chose this song for KING ULTRAMEGA, I had a late 60s Beatles production vibe in mind. I tried to honor what made Chris’s original recording so special, not only instrumentally but in the production as well."

Ultimately, the musicians view "Preaching The End Of The World" as a defining piece of Chris Cornell’s artistic legacy, and hope this tribute both honors his songwriting and helps support members of the music community through MusiCares.
