Zeal & Ardor Drop "Kilanova" Video — WATCH // New Album "GREIF" Out Now // Fall Tour On Deck

ZEAL & ARDOR isn't just a band; it's a living and breathing entity. Like any sentient being, it consumes, evolves, and transforms from one season to the next. It has only sharpened its claws, lengthened its teeth, and steeled its nerves over the years, growing more undeniable and unpredictable in the process.

The band dropped its fourth album, the self-produced GREIF, on August 23. Get it here.

Today, the band has shared the cinematic video for "Kilonova," which plays out like a short film against the backdrop of the song's tension.

Watch it below.

"A 'Kilonova' is when two supernovas collide," band leader Manguel Gagneuxstates. "It's the type of grandeur I'm after."

Now that you've had a moment to ponder and chew on that sentiment...

The band will return to North American soil with a headline tour that kicks off November 23 in Philadelphia and runs through December 18 in Dallas. Gaerea and Zetra will support. Get tickets here. All dates are posted below.

Rather than stagnating, basking in global acclaim garnered from three previous albums — Devil Is Fine [2017], Stranger Fruit [2018] and Zeal & Ardor [2022] — Manuel opted to shake things up for GREIF.

Instead of creatively flying solo again, this time he welcomed his bandmates into the studio, featuring three voices for the first time and emboldening the sound from every angle. As such, the musicians — Tiziano Volante [guitar], Marc Obrist [vocals], Denis Wagner [vocals], Lukas Kurmann [bass], and Marco Von Allmen [drums] — spread their wings alongside him. Decamping to Obrist's studio Hutch Sounds in Switzerland, the record came to life in just five months.

"We've really evolved into a tight-knit unit," explains Obrist. "Before Zeal & Ardor, we were basically strangers, but we're like a little family now. Each member brings his own unique flavor to the mix, and we all try to make Manuel's songs better in our own way. The most interesting part for me was the new approach of how we work together in the studio."

"I wanted to expand upon what we had and introduce new colors," Manuel continues. "There are angry and accusatory moments, but there’s also some solace and happiness. I’m widening the palette of colors we have to paint with. These are avenues we haven’t tried."

ZEAL & ARDOR ON TOUR:
WITH GAEREA + ZETRA:
11/23 — Philadelphia, PA — Union Transfer
11/24 — New York, NY — Le Poisson Rouge
11/25 — Allston, MA — Brighton Music Hall
11/27 — Montreal, QC — Le Studio TD
11/28 — Toronto, ON — Opera House
11/29 — Detroit, MI — The Majestic
11/30 — Millvale, PA — Mr. Smalls Theatre
12/2nd — Indianapolis, IN — The Vogue
12/3 — Chicago, IL — Thalia Hall
12/4 — Minneapolis, MN — Varsity Theater
12/6 — Englewood, CO — Gothic Theatre
12/7 — Salt Lake City, UT — Urban Lounge
12/9 — Seattle, WA — The Showbox
12/10 — Vancouver, BC — Rickshaw Theatre
12/11 — Portland, OR — Wonder Ballroom
12/13 — Berkeley, CA — UC Theatre
12/14 — Santa Ana, CA — The Observatory
12/15 — Phoeniz, AZ — Crescent Ballroom
12/17 — Austin, TX — Mohawk
12/18 — Dallas, TX — Studio at The Factory

"We invite listeners to hear the full spectrum of the different sides and sounds that make Zeal & Ardor," Tiziano leaves off. "There are some gorgeous moments, but it packs in a lot of intensity and charm. In Manuel's songwriting and the process with every member, there's a certain intentionality as well as an element of randomness and accident. I can't wait to see people’s reactions."

In January 2024, ZEAL & ARDOR released Play With The Devil, a documentary film by Olivier Joliat and Matthias Willi. The documentary intimately chronicles Manuel Gagneux's journey from the inception of ZEAL & ARDOR through initial tours and a soul-searching period of crisis. The bold mix of Black Metal with old work songs and field hollers by the enslaved — his answer to a racist provocation on the internet — is politically explosive. As a person of color in metal, Gagneux and his music have shone a light on religion, racism, segregation, and cultural appropriation.  However, the sudden surge in acclaim and the weight of being hailed a visionary leader by fans threatened to overwhelm the softly-spoken, introverted artist. Play With The Devil is available now for streaming on major platforms. For more information and to watch, visit here.

In a significant development in early 2024, Fountainhead, now branded under the name CHANGELING for his new project and album, signed with the label Season of Mist. This venture marks a new chapter in Tom's career, amplifying his visionary approach to music. Accompanied by an all-star band featuring members from Fear Factory, Alkaloid, and Virvum, the project CHANGELING showcases a 60-minute concept album that takes all aspects of Tom’s artistry to new heights.

The album, sharing its name with the project, blends progressive metal, death metal, jazz/fusion, and world music, enriched with complex orchestrations by a 50-piece ensemble of guest musicians. It includes the eagerly anticipated "Part 2" to his renowned composition "Weltseele," an orchestral metal epic from Obscura’s billboard-chart-entering "Akroasis" album, which broadly introduced Fountainhead to the metal community in 2016.

George Strait’s COWBOYS AND DREAMERS Heads to 87 Indie Record Stores Ahead of 9/6 Release

Indie record stores nationwide are celebrating George Strait’s forthcoming 31st studio record, Cowboys And Dreamers, with 87 locations across the country hosting listening events on Wednesday, September 4 – two-days prior to the album’s release on Friday, Sept. 6. See below or visit recordstoreday.com for full store, city and state details.

Produced by Chuck Ainlay, who has been mixing Strait records since 1985, Tony Brown (Strait’s 1993’s Easy Come, Easy Go; 2008’s Troubadour) and Strait, the album’s title comes from a song penned by Jessie Jo Dillon, Keith Gattis and Bubba Strait. “I thought I should name the whole album Cowboys And Dreamers as I feel like the last of a dying breed, trying to find where I fit,” Strait offers of the song that opens with ‘Some days I feel like the last of a dying breed, Trying to find where I fit; Somewhere between high on top of the world, And fighting with calling it quits.’ While the Keith Gattis reaffirming “I Wish I Could Say” offers, ‘Wish I could tell you how the world ain’t ended, And how it’s all going to be ok.’

Timeless, just like the Texas troubadour.

The follow-up to Honky Tonk Time Machine, Strait’s 27th No. 1 Billboard Country album, Cowboys And Dreamers features 13 new songs, including three already released tracks -- “Three Drinks Behind,” “MIA Down in MIA” and “The Little Things” -- as well as “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame” featuring Chris Stapleton and Strait’s rendition of Waylon Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues.” All making appearances in his live set, Strait has one final show in 2024, supersizing his long-standing “Strait to Vegas” show at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to mark the 37th installment of the engagement with Chris Stapleton and special guests Little Big Town.

Kenny Chesney Closes Out Gillette #3 With Heart; 183,224

For night three of Kenny Chesney’s Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour at Gillette Stadium, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year played it straight-up, delivering a sweeping set that spanned his career. Now something of making summer official tradition, Chesney’s 22nd, 23rd and 24th shows at the home of the New England Patriots since 2005 – with three years off during the COVID shutdown – were wide-open love letters to how people live, finding the best outlook on any given situation, love, life and joy. And Chesney’s final show delivered on those notions with a lot of heart and passion.

“The last night is always so hard,” Chesney said, “because you’ve shared so many things over a few months… You get close, you have fun, and you live. But this year, this tour has been even more so because every single person who came to see us brought just as much heart to the shows as my road family and I brought. It was something you could feel everywhere we went.”

That palpability was present on “Boston,” performed with the lights all the way up. The love song to a free spirit tending bar who chased her dream, the song represents the soul of so many in New England, and Chesney let the audience take the final chorus, nodding approvingly as No Shoes Nation sang their own song with real embrace. The unprecedented third night’s sold-out crowd also took “Boys of Fall” as their own – singing the last chorus on their own – while film of Tom Brady, the various Patriots and coaches flashed on the screens around the stage.

Uncle Kracker received his biggest response of the three nights, bouncing down the T for the six-week No. 1 “When the Sun Goes Down,” and the audience raised their voices to “Drift Away,” it was a reprise of Kracker’s solo “Follow Me” that again had the audience singing at the top of their lungs. Clearly a favorite, it was a moment of fellowship that delighted the crowd.

“It really felt like No Shoes Nation came to sing,” Chesney marveled. “These songs were their life, too, and they were going to sing them back to us. I felt like I was seeing – and hearing – everything we played in another dimension because I could hear all those lives in their voices.”

Megan Moroney, whose pranks have “owned” the weekend, tamed it down to wearing a “Best Summer Ever” on the front t-shirt, with “We <3 Kenny” on the back. Her cavorting during “All The Pretty Girls” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” matches Chesney's own high-energy performance. But it was her own “Am I Okay” that saw the crowd finding a whole new level.

“Watching Megan really come into her power this summer has been one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time,” Chesney allowed. “She is a triple threat writer/singer/performer – and she’s found the space she wants to work from. Mark my words: she’s here for the duration.”

Dropping a free-form take on Steve Miller’s “The Joker” into Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” Chesney loosened up the playlist and worked from a place of maximum positivity. “Young,” “American Kids,” “Save It For A Rainy Day,” and “Get Along” delivered a gospel of seeking joy.

Presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum®, the Sun Goes Down Tour more than delivered.

“...because everything gets hotter when the sun goes down...”

Spinefarm Signs GORE. + Band Shares "Babylon" Video

SPINEFARM is pleased to announce the signing of GORE. — vocalist Haley Roughton, guitarist Alex Reyes, and bassist Devin Birchfield — to the global roster.

The band will release the A Bud That Never Blooms EP on October 24. Pre-order it here.

The EP was produced by Miserable Productions, with Ben McGuiness and Caleb Freihaut serving as co-producers. The EP was mixed by Cody Stewart.

Today, the band has also shared the video for "Babylon," its debut single for its new label home.

Watch the video below.

"'Babylon' is about my desire to have a pure, somewhat traditional love," offers Roughton, laying her emotional cards face up on the table. "The dream of having a strong and loving husband, with children and an unconditionally loving home being the center of my universe (and is what I felt I lacked in my childhood). Through the years, and all of the relationships I have failed to sustain, that dream has yet to come true. This song is the eulogy of that dream. In other words, 'Babylon' is the action of putting that dream of being a wife and a mother to rest, for now."

Regarding the accompanying visual, Roughton shares, "The music video uses religious imagery to depict the dream for a pure, unconditional love that is slowly dying. In the video, the pastor can be seen as everything that causes a relationship to fail — ego, external pressure from others, unhealed inner wounds — even the other person in the relationship. The pastor is seen slowly killing the woman with the dream by holding her underwater, while she is seen crying and begging for the life she wants. From the action of killing her emerges a creature that is completely stripped of hope and innocence. The sludgy, disturbing human-like being can be seen as a symbol of cynicism, resentment and vengeance."

Gore. will embark on a slate of tour dates supporting Within the Ruins in October. All dates are below.

GORE. ON TOUR:
WITH WITHIN THE RUINS:

10/9 — Lubbock, TX — Jake's
10/10 — Denver, CO — Roxy Theater
10/11 — Oklahoma City, OK — 89th Street
10/12 — Dallas, TX — RBC
10/13 — San Antonio, TX — Vibes Underground

ABOUT GORE.:
Haley Roughton leads the charge in Gore., a band that brings a distinctly feminine perspective to the heavy music scene. Debuted in 2023 with guitarist Alex Reyes and bassist Devin Birchfield, the Texas-based trio quickly made waves with their emotionally raw and unapologetically vulnerable sound. Their recent signing to Spinefarm solidifies their place in the industry.

Gore.'s A Bud That Never Blooms EP is a deeply personal exploration of the complexities of femininity. Tracks like "Babylon" confront the painful realities of womanhood, while "Doomsday" reflects on the desensitization to violence and suffering in today's world. Roughton's vocals range from delicate, emotive cleans to fierce, guttural growls, capturing the duality of strength and vulnerability that defines the band’s music. Gore. count members of Motionless in White, Flyleaf, and Papa Roach, among others, as fans.

Recorded at Miserable Productions Studios and co-produced by Ben McGuiness and Caleb Freihaut, the EP embodies what Roughton calls "emotional gore." It's an embrace of the raw, unfiltered aspects of life, particularly from a female perspective. With plans for more music in 2025, Gore. is poised to continue challenging norms and expressing the full spectrum of feminine experience through their powerful sound.

VESTIGE Release New Single Featuring Neige (Alcest)

Last week, Vestige ushered the world of modern metal into the drift of the fall season with "Automne pt. 1". Today, they are releasing the second part of this single, a chilling and howling reflection that features Neige from Alcest.

Watch the snowy visualizer for "Automne pt. 2" below.

Vestige's debut album Janis comes out September 6 on Season of Mist.

"Automne Pt. 2" has the unique honor of featuring Neige. The ethereal voice of Alcest adds an otherworldly layer to Vestige's visceral soundscape, elevating the song to a plane where agony intertwines with ecstasy.

Théodore Rondeau, the creative initiator behind VESTIGE, embarked on a journey of forming the band during a turbulent phase in his life. Emerged as a creative vessel for a complicated emotional journey, the band transcends the boundaries of individual therapy into a collaborative force that hopefully resonates with the feelings that may be all too common for the human experience.

With a profound connection to their craft, VESTIGE pour their souls into their debut album, infusing it with a captivating blend of melancholy, desperation, and catharsis. The music serves not only as an expression of their turmoil, but as a conduit for listeners to navigate the complexities of their own emotions. Through this process, VESTIGEbecomes a project with the potential to connect with people on a profound level, forging a collective experience through the universal language of music.

The formation of VESTIGE’s lineup reads like a musical destiny unfolding: Pierre-André Krauzer on the bass, Quentin Regnault on drums, and Théodore on vocals and guitar. They first crossed paths during their tenure in Naraka, a band that shared stages with icons like Cradle of Filth and Alcest. This initial connection laid the groundwork for the formation of the band. Not long after, the addition of Thomas Petit on the second guitar solidified the lineup, bringing a sense of completeness to the ensemble. The band’s sonic identity now established; VESTIGE was ready to share this experience with the world.

The signing with Season of Mist brings the band’s first milestone, allowing VESTIGE to share their journey in the form of their debut album, Janis. Poised for release in late 2024, the album is a culmination of their collective efforts and a statement of the band’s arrival in the heavy music scene. Weaving through atmospheric shoegaze textures, melodic landscapes and intense, tormented moments that reflects the emotional spectrum of the human experience, the band established a foothold into the genre of modern metal.

Beyond the studio, VESTIGE is gearing up for a series of live performance in 2024, setting the stage for an introspective musical experience that brings raw and authentic energy. A cathartic release that pulls in the listener into the emotional depths the band has to bring.

ANDRE COMEAU Releases New Single “Love Like Poison”

Rock singer-songwriter Andre Comeau has officially released his latest single, "Love Like Poison," to all major streaming platforms. This powerful track is taken from his new album, Portrait, which dropped on August 2, 2024.

"Love Like Poison" showcases Comeau's signature blend of gritty vocals, emotive lyrics, and dynamic rock instrumentation. The single is already gaining traction on Sirius XM, with fans and critics alike praising it.

From Rocker to Singer Songwriter, to reluctant reality TV star, Andre Comeau has done it all. Born in 70’s-era Detroit, Andre grew up steeped in all genres of music. Possessed with an instinctual sense of melody and dynamics, Andre has music in his blood.

His first band, Reigndance, which also featured Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age, The Dead Weather) helped ignite, but quickly outgrew the burgeoning Detroit music scene of the early 90’s. Shortly after relocating to New York, Andre was chosen to be a cast member of the inaugural season of MTV’s seminal reality show, The Real World. The show was an instant success, and Andre, the show’s “Rocker”, and Reigndance were afforded massive exposure. After three records and extensive touring, the band found themselves at a creative crossroads. They disbanded in 1997.

Says Comeau, “I’m very proud of everything we did in Reigndance. But The Real World, and what it ultimately became, was something I disconnected with. As our world has evolved into a reality based, unscripted place for instant-gratification it’s now easier to stand back and see it's impact. There were times it felt like a counteractive force, but in hindsight, it was incredible to be a part of something that transformed our culture and my life, both good and bad.”

Comeau relocated to Los Angeles in search of fresh stimuli and new musical landscapes. The 2000s found Andre returning to the folk music of his youth with River Rouge. The band released a handful of well received albums and became a highlight of the Los Angeles club scene, but disbanded in 2016.

In 2019, Comeau triumphantly returned to his hard rock roots with two EPs Wrong Within (2020), & Clean Break (2021), both are straight-no-chaser collections of ballsy Rock songs.

Now in 2024 with a new and more introspective LP, Portrait (2024) Andre Comeau fronts a power trio with veteran musicians Darren Elpant on drums and Gary Wicks on bass, where he manages to successfully marry his folk, rock, and blues influences and infuses them to create something familiar, yet new and unique. Toeing the line between classic and cutting edge, Comeau proves that guitar-rock can still be vital, original, and relevant. Hard, sexy and thought-provoking---Andre Comeau’s music seizes the listener above and below the belt.

Miranda Lambert Previews 'Postcards from Texas' with Surprise Austin Show

When the marquee outside legendary BBQ joint and live music venue Stubb’s Austin revealed a surprise message early Friday morning – MIRANDA LAMBERT TONIGHT AT 6PM – it didn’t take long for fans to race to the downtown establishment. With the line winding around the block and reaching capacity well ahead of the time the box office opened at noon, the lucky fans who made it there first were in for an unforgettable evening with a Lone Star icon come home.

In addition to lead single “Wranglers,” liberated anthem “Dammit Randy,” humorous shuffle “Alimony” and free-spirited ballad “No Man’s Land,” fans were also treated to an early preview of several other songs off Postcards from Texas: “Bitch On The Sauce (Just Drunk),” “Looking Back On Luckenbach,” “Armadillo” and “Wildfire.”

The event marked almost exactly 20 years to the day since Lambert played her very first label showcase at Stubb’s on Aug. 28, 2004, making for a full circle homecoming as she celebrated this next chapter in music.

“I have a brand new album, and I have the same fire that I had 20 years ago at that show,” reflected the the woman celebrated by Esquire as “consistent, but never predictable” and Rolling Stone as “country’s most ambitious artist” from the stage, adding of the setting, “I love a honky tonk. It’s how I grew up. It’s in my DNA.”

Always keeping a wildcard up her sleeve, Lambert further surprised fans by inviting fellow Texans and frequent collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall (her Big Loud Texas label imprint partner and Postcards coproducer) to join for a few songs from their GRAMMY-nominated West Texas acoustic album, The Marfa Tapes, including fan-favorite hit “Tequila Does.”

With less than a month until the Sept. 13 arrival of her Republic Records debut, recorded just across the river from Stubb’s at Austin’s famed Arlyn Studios, the intimate concert in the heart of the Lone Star State served as the ultimate celebration of the 14-song musical tribute to Lambert’s beloved home state.

Her passion for rescue animals inspired the creation of her MuttNation Foundation, which has raised nearly $10 million since inception to promote adoption, support shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster.

Five Guests, New Record, Boys of Fall, "Best Night Ever": Kenny Chesney Night 2 @ Gillette

How one tops a mini-tractor, a mini-Chesney and a whole lot of energy is hard to imagine, but Chesney took the stage for his 23rd sold out performance at Gillette Stadium determined to drill into the heart of his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour. With a set closing “Boys of Fall,” which he performed at the stadium two months prior for Tom Brady’s retirement event, it was an evening of songs people knew by heart, friendship and special guests that set a high bar for Sunday’s third night.

Telling the audience early on they’d taken some liberties with the set list the night before, the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar introduced Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey to a massive response, and the pair performed a conversationally buoyant rendition of “Save It For A Rainy Day,” which Ramsey co-wrote. Shortly thereafter, Uncle Kracker expanded their crowd-pleasing duet of “When The Sun Goes Down” and his AC smash redux of Dobie Gray’s “Drift Away” with “Follow Me” and “Midnight Rider” into a surging “Cowboy.”

“The thing about these summers together,” Chesney said post-show, “is it really is all about friendship. It’s about the people out here, our road family and everyone else’s road family, and how those connections grow. It’s a lot, and it’s precious. As things wind down, I really want to share No Shoes Nation with my friends.”

For the first time all tour, Zac Brown emerged from the wings for a three song moment. Drawing on the spark of Country Music Hall of Famer’s Alabama with a fiddle flying “Dixieland Delight” and closing with a mash-up of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Steve Miller’s “The Joker” and Bob Markley’s “Three Little Birds,” the vibe was easy – and the vast range of their shared influences were on display.

Moroney’s pranks were tamer. Clad in a white t-shirt with a Blue Chair Bay bottle, the pair did their moment of “All The Pretty Girls” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” But it was during Moroney’s “Am I Okay,” her team rushed the stage in matching t-shirts with the mini tractor leading the charge.

But maybe the most special guests bounded onstage during the breakdown of “American Kids.” Waving to the wings with a come on out, Chesney introduced his mother and aunt to the 61,484 citizens of No Shoes Nation, who established yet another personal venue/single night best. After a perfect night under a clear sky, the fans were seeing the 8-time Entertainer of the Year signing until 11:25 pm.

“I told Tom, my stage manager, this is the best Gillette crowd we’ve ever had,” the man the Los Angeles Times called “The People’s Superstar” raved. “They were so there, so on fire. We could feel it before we hit the stage. Once we were out there, it was insane. I always say ‘Sports, family, friends, music;’ tonight with Zac and Megan, it was so strong, I had to bring my mom and her twin sister out to feel the crowd, too.”

As noted by Robin Roberts on Thursday’s “Good Morning America” entertainment round-up, this was not only an unprecedented weekend of three shows at Gillette, Chesney had surpassed 200 stadium shows. Having joined the tour in Philadelphia years ago, the Emmy winner cheered the love of No Shoes Nation.

“So many times this summer, I think it can’t get any better, then something like tonight happens. From the fun of playing songs with my friends, sharing the rush with my mom and with No Shoes Nation, this is exactly the reason our refrain all summer long is: ‘Who lives like we do? WE DO!’ And it’s each and every single person who makes it possible.”

TURMION KÄTILÖT - ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM 'RESET'

Following the stand-alone single 'Schlachter' featuring Chris Harms of LORD OF THE LOST, ‘Yksi Jumalista’ is the first single from TURMION KÄTILÖT’s new album Reset.

MC Raaka Pee comments about Reset: "I would say that Reset is like a bastard son or daughter of previous records - with tasty new spices added to the whole thing. It has everything you could ever want from us and more. One of the special twists of this album is the vocal parts: the fierce screams are counterbalanced by a huge melodiousness - often at the same time."

He continues about 'Yksi Jumalista': "Especially in difficult situations, I've learned to ask both myself and others, 'What do you want?' I've noticed that when arguments and conflicts arise, people often don't really know what they truly want. In tense situations, that question is incredibly important to ask – otherwise, the main issue is likely to get lost in all the noise."

About TURMION KÄTILÖT:
TURMION KÄTILÖT, the Finnish-singing industrial and electronic metal band hailing from the barren wastelands of Savo, is rapidly becoming a new favorite among open-minded metal fans in the mid-2020s. The odds of their rise to prominence are nothing short of great. Known for their ecstatic and theatrical concerts, TURMION KÄTILÖT invites you to dive into their twisted world of "disco metal." The current lineup features singers MC Raaka Pee and Shag-U, guitarist Bobby Undertaker, bassist Master Bates, keyboardist RunQ, and drummer DQ. Since the early 2000s, this vivid sextet has been delivering a unique blend of electrifying heavy music, characterized by its peculiar, perverted, and catchy style. Their journey includes numerous sold-out concerts, gold and platinum records, and Emma nominations (Finland's equivalent to the Grammys).

TURMION KÄTILÖT's depraved disco ball has also shone beyond Finland. Many fans remember their legendary European tour with PAIN in 2011. In the 2020s, their fame continued to grow, highlighted by their selection as the opening band for NIGHTWISH's sold-out European arena tour in 2022. Now, TURMION KÄTILÖT is ready to unveil their latest creation: Reset. Founding member and main songwriter MC Raaka Pee explains, "Reset is simply the perfect name for our new studio album. For us, Reset is more about taking advantage of everything we've learned over two decades and then adding new nuances to our metallic disco vortex." With twenty years and ten studio albums behind them, Turmion Kätilöt continues to push their boundaries. "We have relentlessly raised our own bar with every record," says the band. "Reset is our best album to date, and we simply couldn't be more satisfied."

Reset features all the hallmarks of TURMION KÄTILÖT: twisted synths, underfoot grooves, pounding beats, and cryptic lyrics, all with a stronger musical vision than ever before. The album is described as a "bastard child" of their previous records, with new spices added. The vocal parts, a mix of fierce screams and melodiousness, add a special twist.

"We have gained more courage to explore drastic musical and lyrical angles," the band states. "Sometimes the lyrics and the musical mood seem to come from completely different worlds, but that's exactly what makes the whole thing fascinating. That's what Turmion Kätilöt is all about!"
Key tracks from the album include singles 'Yksi jumalista,' 'Pulssi,' and 'Sinä 2.0,' though the band emphasizes that the entire album is a varied entity. "If we had to decide now which new songs to perform at future shows, we would play the whole new album!"

The production of Reset benefits from the powerful sound engineered by keyboardist and producer RunQ in his brand-new studio. The album's sound palette ranges from completely organic to entirely electronic, creating a hugely powerful combination. Reset also offers an interesting opportunity to compare old and new TURMION KÄTILÖT with the song 'Schlachter,' a new German version of their classic 'Teurastaja.' Originally released on their debut album, this updated version features new arrangements and lyrics. While the band remains committed to singing in Finnish, they remain open to future possibilities. "In the future, we can sing in English, German, Swedish, or we may invent our own language. Let's see." MC Raaka Pee concludes with a confident smile, "Trust us, we know what we are doing. For this band, it took twenty years, but we finally know what we are doing. Now we are just going to enjoy the ride. So, if someone is interested in a wild ride on the twisted side, please reset and jump in!"

Hopium is full of desire yet mixed with the bittersweet taste of longing. Produced by guitarist/keyboardist Diego Cafolla alongside his brother and drummer Thundra Cafolla, the album ranges from dark introspection to joyous crescendos.

Lead single "Kintsugi" draws from the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a hard-grooving riff, while "Night Drive" is an eerily hypnotic thriller that's the perfect soundtrack for a dark night of the soul. The title track and closing number ends the album on a high note, weaving together progressive rock, ambient and metal music into a gripping tale about societal illusions.

With Hopium, Kingcrow demonstrate showcase their effortless command of dynamic range and raw emotion.

Describing the band today is quite a difficult task, but one could state that the influence of different kinds of music, from progressive rock , ambient music, alternative rock and metal are all present in the music of KINGCROW.

With each release KINGCROW has taken a step further away from their original roots and is regarded today as one of the most exciting bands that Italy has to offer.

Carcosa Drops New Single “Righteous Man” and Hilarious Music Video—It’s Cheeky AND Chuggy

Canada’s bounciest deathcore dudes Carcosa have unleashed another banger bordering on metalcore with today’s release of “Righteous Man.” It’s their second Tarantin-ish song, following the Kill Bill-isms of fan favorite “Vermin,” a great omen for their latest’s Fictitiously Pulpy leanings to earn similar love. Listen to the new track HERE and watch the music video below.

Like the meme-tastic video for “Nihilus,” the “Righteous Man” clip inserts the quartet into scenes from the screen—with this one double daring (mother f****r) to transport them from BC to LA—for a viewing experience as cheeky as it is chuggy.

Carcosa vocalist Johnny Ciardullo quips on the Quentinspiration of the track:

“‘Righteous Man’ is a love letter to one of the best films in the history of modern cinema. Its visceral nature and polarizing dialogue are perfectly poised for a brutal yet catchy banger.

“After having so much fun green screening ourselves into hilarious moments for ‘Nihilus,’ we knew what had to be done here. Sure, the subject matter may not be as straight up funny, but we ensured we’d inject some laughs with some hilarious props—check out those guns—and our, ahem, acting.

The song marks 5.5 months since they dropped a cover of Ghostemane’s “Mercury” and nearly 10 since unleashing last original song “Nothing”—an uncharacteristically long time between material for these content machines. Prior to that, they rolled out “Born to Lose,” “Restless” and “Nihilus,” as well as a live split with fellow BC deathcore band Angelmaker (with whom they share a member), in the follow-up to LP debut Anthology, which dropped August 13, 2021.

ABOUT CARCOSA

Vancouver’s Carcosa formed from the ashes of djenty metalcore band Galactic Pegasus, deciding to kill that band off as the music they were writing trended in a deadlier direction. However, their devotion to constant content—seemingly inspired by guitarist Andrew Baena’s YouTube career and a Tik Tok explosion of metal tongue twisters, pick-up lines and more with vocalist Johnny Ciardullo—is far more lively.

As is their live show! Originally a deathcore studio project, due in part to unleashing in mid-2020, their regular releases (centered around 2021 debut LP Anthology but book-ended with a seemingly endless stream of singles) have been peppered with tours alongside Archspire, Aborted, Angelmaker, Vulvodynia, Within Destruction and more.

Rock Legend Brian Wheat (Tesla) Teams Up with Rising Star AleX to Form New Band, Violet Breed; Release Debut Single "AWAKE" on September 13, 2024

Violet Breed represents a powerful collaboration between Wheat, a seasoned rock icon, and AleX, a fresh and dynamic voice in the music industry. The pair have spent the last five years meticulously crafting an album that draws from their own life experiences, creating music that resonates with listeners of all ages. With honest and emotive lyrics, Violet Breed’s sound blends rich rock and pop influences, promising a unique and compelling listening experience.

The debut album, which features Tesla’s own guitarist Dave Rude on guitars, will showcase the musical prowess of the duo. Fans of both Tesla and AleX will be eager to hear the new material, as Violet Breedlooks to make a significant impact on the global music scene.

"AWAKE," the lead single, will give audiences a taste of what’s to come from Violet Breed, delivering a track that’s both musically engaging and lyrically profound.

Brian and AleX are able to tap into experiences from these diverse generations, which add to the depth of the music they produce. Their passion and inspiration for music is born from a shared love for records by The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Queen, and My Chemical Romance. Influences from these bands is subtly interwoven into their music.

Over his successful forty years in the music industry, Brian has crafted an enviable music career. Performing live, author to autobiography - 'Son Of A Milkman' and managing the multi-platinum selling rock band Tesla, alongside side projects such as SouL MotoR and now Violet Breed. Brian has maintained an impressive consistency in the music industry over multiple decades resulting in an abundance of sell-out tours across the US and world.

Over the last ten years, Brian has acted as a close mentor and peer to AleX. Notably being a huge influence in the studio, producing and co-writing songs. His oversight has helped refine the music AleX creates and brought priceless industry for AleX to further improve his craft. With his own individual success on active rock radio, numerous successful tours and festival appearances, and constantly performing to a demanding live schedule, Brian notices the potential of AleX's talents and commitment, and recognizes snippets of his younger self in the artist. Having displayed a unique range of vocal performances, heavily inspired by Freddie Mercury, plus a natural talent for song writing, the opportunity to form a new band seemed inevitable.
