Jethro Tull launch ‘The Navigators’; the second single from ‘RökFlöte’

Jethro Tull recently announced the release of their 23rd studio album, ‘RökFlöte’, on the 21st April 2023 via InsideOutMusic. Following 2022’s ‘The Zealot Gene’, the band's first album in two decades, Ian Anderson and the band are returning with a 12-track record based on the characters and roles of some of the principle gods of the old Norse paganism, and at the same time exploring the ‘RökFlöte’ - rock flute - which Jethro Tull has made iconic.

Today the band are pleased to launch the second single from the album, ‘The Navigators’. Appearing as a special single edit version, mixed by Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief), you can watch the video (created by Christian Rios) below.

The lyrics for this track explored the Norse god Njord, who was the god of wealth, fertility, the sea and seafaring.

Ian explains the album’s title & theme in more detail: “The title of this offering went through a little change or two along the way. I started with the idea of a predominantly instrumental album for rock flute - as in rock music. When the subject material of the album presented itself, I was drawn to the term Ragnarök from Norse mythology - their version of apocalyptic end times or Biblical Armageddon. The "final showdown" scenario is ubiquitous and inherent in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, for example. Ragnarök translates as “destiny of the Gods”, the rök part meaning destiny, course, direction. With umlaut firmly in place, courtesy of the Germanic origins of Old Norse, Flute became Flöte in keeping with the spelling. With me so far? I just can't miss the glorious opportunity for a good and legitimate umlaut.”

Jethro Tull continue live dates this year, with shows in mainland Europe, as well as a newly announced headline date in London on the 23rd May to celebrate the new album release. They will also return to North America later this year, with the first show in Wolf Trap confirmed and more to be announced in the coming weeks. Find the full list of shows here: https://jethrotull.com/tour-dates/

‘The Zealot Gene’, released in January 2022, was Jethro Tull’s 22nd studio album and it garnered critical acclaim across the board. Reaching #9 in the UK album charts, a feat the band hadn’t reached since 1972, it also debuted at #4 in Germany, #3 in Switzerland, #5 in Austria, #8 in Finland, as well as top 10 in the US Album Charts, Current Album Charts and Rock Album Charts.

With more than 30 albums to their credit and sales totaling more than 60 million, Jethro Tull are one of the most successful rock bands of all-time with a catalog that contains classics that still resonate today. Led by Ian Anderson, Tull still continue to tour throughout the world, entertaining audiences of all ages.

Irish whistle and vocals
David Goodier - Bass guitar
John O’Hara - Piano, keyboards and Hammond Organ

Bleed the Sky Release New Single "The Parasite" featuring Mark Hunter from Chimaira + Official Music Video

Stream/Download "The Parasite"

WATCH Bleed The Sky - "The Parasite" (feat. Mark Hunter of Chimaira) Official Music Video:

Orange County's Bleed the Sky welcome new vocalist, Monte Barnard and release new single "The Parasite" featuring guest vocalist Mark Hunter from Chimaira.

The band teamed up with director Eric DiCarlo (@ericdicarlo41) at Square Up Studios to direct the video. He is known for his work with Chelsea Grin, Attila, and Lorna Shore. Additional cinematography was done by Karl Whinnery of Hot Karl Productions and Ben Schigel of Spider Studios.

“I’m beyond excited to join forces with the legendary institution that is Bleed the Sky. Their music impacted me as part of a movement that was integral to my musical coming of age and frankly, I'm still pinching myself. The opportunity to create and add to their legacy is one I don’t take lightly,"says Monte Barnard.

Mark Hunter adds, "I am thrilled to lend my voice to the powerful sound of Bleed The Sky's 'The Parasite'. It's an honor to collaborate with such talented musicians and be a part of creating something truly unforgettable."

"'The Parasite' is about humanity’s growing addiction to distraction from the ever encroaching horrors that occupy just outside the periphery of our day to day existence. We constantly seek to ween and cope ourselves from the harsh truths we should be addressing head on. By remaining ignorant and distracted, we only tighten the seal on our inevitable doom," says the band.

Formed in 2003, Orange County based metal band Bleed The Sky are back with a new single as well as a new frontman. Following two well received albums released on Nuclear Blast Records, Paradigm in Entropy (2005) and Murder the Dance (2008), the band once again redefined who they are with the Art Is War Records release This Way Lies Madness (2020) and the single The Devil Will See You Now (2020). Bleed The Sky returns with the same intensity that is familiar to fans of their previous albums, as well as a new brutality that they are excited to share with the metal community.

Getting his start in Northern California's Death Metal scene, Monte Barnard joined Alterbeast in 2014 and continued his work touring and filling in on vocals with such bands as Thy Art Is Murder,The Kennedy Veil and Fallujah. He also fronts Emberthrone on Seek & Strike Records, as well as Lesser Animal.

Bleed the Sky is:

Monte Barnard - Vocals

Kevin Garcia - Guitar

Wayne Miller - Guitar

David Culbert - Bass

Austin D’Amond - Drums

VOYAGER to Represent Australia in The Eurovision Song Contest, Shares New Song

Today, SBS and production partner Blink TV are proud to announce the artist who will represent Australia at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool (UK) is none other than Perth’s fearless, riff-laden, genre-bending band VOYAGER! The band will be entering their electrifying new single, "Promise," which is now streaming along with a music video, below.

“As a long-time Eurovision fan, this is the pinnacle - Voyager gets to play the greatest show on earth!" exclaims Voyager frontman Danny Estrin. "Our song 'Promise' is made for the Eurovision stage and collectively we feel it's one of our best yet. We filmed the music video in both the city of Perth and beautiful parts of Western Australia to showcase the majestic beauty of our home state. Eurovisionation, we are coming!!!”

SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs adds, “Voyager bring together my love for the 80’s and catchy lyrics that you can’t stop singing. I can’t wait to see Eurovision fans the world over embrace them as much as Aussie crowds have. Voyager have been determined to get centre stage for the biggest song contest in the world and SBS know they will bring that grit with them along with a whole lot of fun. Look out Europe, the Aussies are coming!”

Director of Blink TV Paul Clarke comments, "'Promise' is a song that delivers in spades, from a band that never fails to impress. From the very first listen I knew it was something special – an epic, cinematic track that will take listeners on an anthemic rock voyage all the way to the Eurovision stage. This year, Australia’s hopes are in the masterful hands of a band for the first time ever, and I can’t wait for Voyager to rock your socks off in Liverpool.”

"Promise" can be streamed everywhere HERE.

Stay tuned to the SBS Eurovision website for updates HERE.

The opening line of Voyager’s 2023 Eurovision song "Promise" is somewhat prophetic. As vocalist Danny Estrin belts out the lyric, “Have you ever done anything like this before?” audiences across the globe will realize they haven’t. For the first time ever, a band will represent the country – and not just any band – a band with soaring melodies, masterful riffs, keytar solos, powerhouse rhythms, and enough charisma to take on the world.

Shattering expectations, their resilience and determination has finally paid off. Theirs is a story of passion, perseverance, and patience. The band has been throwing their hat in the ring for the Eurovision Song Contest since Australia announced its participation back in 2015. Eight years later, they have prospered, overcome, and are now victorious. Voyager are a band who take everything in their stride, over the years garnering a strong fanbase near and far, continuing to vie for their Eurovision dream. At last year’s Eurovision – Australia Decides, they took out second place in a nail-biting finish, leading the public vote with their song "Dreamer."

Now, Voyager are about to set sail Merseyside with their song "Promise;" an epic, progressive pop metal track that transports the listener on an emotive story of adventure and redemption. Its stunning music video was captured in the region of Western Australia’s mid-west Kalbarri that boasts the pink ethereal Hutt Lagoon, and Kalbarri National Park, where there are epic gorges and rock formations including Nature’s Window.

Blending New Romantic, ‘80s infused vocals with technical, melodic framework, groovy basslines, bombastic drums, and what is fast becoming the band’s signature instrument, the keytar, it’s sure to lift the roof off Pier Head, Liverpool. They have toured the world many times over, with an influx of fans on their latest European tour won over by their electric live performances.

Voyager will soon embark on their eighth album cycle, but before they can begin their next chapter, they must first take on the epic battle they have long been fighting for.

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, with their song Stefania. This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine’s behalf with the theme United by Music. This is the ninth time the United Kingdom will host Eurovision and the fifth time it’s hosted for other countries due to financial or capacity issues.

SBS’s exclusive coverage will once again be in the capable hands of music buff Myf Warhurst and comedian Joel Creasey. This year marks 40 years of SBS broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest to all Australians, and the eighth year Australia has participated in the event.

Renewal and rebirth: UK indiepop artist KARAMELIEN explores incarnation on 'Wait For Me' with animated video

''A true work of beauty and professionalism, taking you to your very own ascension heights" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"Upbeat, a joyous folk-rock affair... bedecked in kaleidoscopic sixties sparkle, a slight splash of psychedelia and a whole tsunami of charm and grace" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"A hug of soulful indie pop with groove as infectious as its melodic breath and lyrical smile is poetic... seductive captivation" ~ Ringermaster Review

With music being such a catalyst for renewal, recovery and rebirth, it it no wonder that the reverse relationship would also exist. Alas, UK indiepop artist Karamelienexplores the concept of reincarnation on her latest single 'Wait For Me', along with a new animated video.

The third single from Karamelien, this song is performed primarily by East Grinstead-based singer-songwriter Léanie Kaleido with piano, mixing and production by Chris Mars (A Flock of Seagulls, Damian Wilson).

Kaleido earlier released two Karamelien singles with long-time friend and guitarist Mark Foster and produced at OX4 Sound Studio by RIDE's Mark Gardener, who also guided her critically acclaimed 'How To Weigh A Whale Without A Scale' LP (2021).

'Ascension Heights' is a moving work of beauty, which samples the track of the same name by Léanie's late father Top Topham (original founding guitarist of The Yardbirds) and features bassist Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles) with guidance by Paul Statham (Dido, Simple Minds, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia), while 'Lionhearts' is an uplifting track about love and unity in difficult times.

"Since the last release, I've been writing and producing from my studio at home. The inspiration for this song came through hearing the story of the relative of a dear friend of mine, who had experienced intense feelings of reincarnation, which were later backed up through historical research. It's a beautiful story and one that has been made into a book. 'Wait For Me' is inspired by the love story that accompanied this experience; a love that transcends life and death," says Léanie Kaleido.

"As a Buddhist, the idea of reincarnation is something that still baffles me, but I love the idea that it might be true. I think that, regardless of what you believe, the song speaks to anyone who has lost someone they loved very dearly. I wrote the lyrics with the intention that they could be the words of the person who has passed away, or the person they have left behind. It was important to me to let this song be used in a way that helps anyone struggling with love and loss. I hope it does."

While the timing is coincidental, this song on reincarnation is timely considering that Top Topham passed away on January 23rd after several years of battling dementia. When Top left the band to finish his art course, he was succeeded by Eric Clapton, then later Jeff Beck and finally Jimmy Page. Top continued to have a solo music career with Blues Horizon Records and played with Christine McVie and Peter Green.

“My father was a huge influence on me both musically and spiritually, and I will always be grateful to him for that. He was always so supportive of my own work and we often played music together. I sampled his beautiful instrumental track 'Ascension Heights' and wrote the lyrics as a tribute to his spirituality, which was a huge part of his life. All of his children miss his presence greatly.”

'Wait For Me' is out now, available on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Ascension Heights' and 'Lionhearts' can also be found.

Singer/Songwriter Jason Delismon Releases Official Lyric Video for New Single "Hard To Breath"

Singer/Songwriter Jason Delismon released his new single "Hard To Breathe" to all major platforms on January 12, 2023. Today, he released the official music video for the song. The single was produced, mixed and mastered at Groovetone Studios.

"This song is dedicated to those who have lost a loved one," says Jason.

He adds, "Music has always been a lifelong passion of mine. My career started behind the drum set. Once I started playing in a band I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I’ve drummed in several bands that have toured and shared stages with national acts. I was in a Chicago based band A.D.D. We did quite a bit of traveling. I was also in the band Heavy the Fall produced by Charlie Benante “Anthrax.” Shortly after in typical Dave Grohl fashion, I transitioned into singing and playing guitar, which branched off to form my own band Frontline. I have also been the drum tech for Eve to Adam, as well as, Survivor. Currently I’m pursuing music as a solo artist. I released first single 'Gone Away' in October of 2022. ICYMI:

Due to high demand, Inferno Metal Festival Norway has announced additional black metal sightseeing tours on Friday, April 7, 2023 as tickets for the previously announced tour on April 6 have sold out!

This unique experience takes place during the 2023 edition of Inferno Metal Festival, which takes place in the heart of Oslo, Norway at the Rockefeller, John Dee venue during Easter weekend from April 6-9, 2023. The lineup and daily schedules for the festival can be found below.

Hosted by Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Satyricon, Order), the tour will take fans on a trip through the places that marked the beginnings of Norwegian black metal.

For the average music fan the story of Norwegian Black Metal is in essence something about murder, suicide and church burning. Between 1991 and 1993 many of the most important events in this dark chapter in Norwegian music history took place in Oslo and we have put together a field trip to the sights that takes you back in time.

Anders Odden formed his first black metal band, Slaught, in 1986 after attending a rehearsal with Mayhem at the age of 14. He was one of the pioneers in the infancy of the Norwegian scene dealing with tape trading, organizing concerts, and creating more and more extreme music on his own. He formed Cadaver in 1988 and released the first Norwegian death metal album on Earache Records in 1990. His band played shows with Darkthrone, Mayhem, Old Funeral and many more bands of what would become the Norwegian black metal scene in the beginning.

This field trip has exclusive anecdotes and personal memories of the early life of the scene from someone who was there. The schedule for the tour is as follows:

BLACK METAL BUS SIGHTSEEING – A FIELD TRIP THROUGH OSLO

12:00 Departure The Hub, Inferno Festival hotel.

12:30 Holmenkollen Kapell, re-done after church-fire 23rd of August 1992

Moreover, the festival is also now revealing the lineup for its infamous tattoo fair, which has been a part of Inferno Metal Festival for years! Dozens of highly revered artists will be taking a stand in the left wing of the main venue, Rockefeller Music Hall. The new exhibition investigates the dark and chaotic feelings of Norwegian black metal. Drawing from the library’s rich collection, the exhibition references ancient Norwegian cultural history and shows black metal as a music form with a distinct artistic expression The exhibition conveys how Norwegian black metal has had an impact far beyond Norwegian borders with a vast number of international followers.

The National Library of Norway invites fans and other lovers of music and cultural history to dig deep and explore Norwegian black metal as a music genre and a cultural phenomenon. There will be guided tours every day of the festival week.

NAUT comments: "It is with pleasure that we share our debut album with you today, in full! 'Hunt' is something very dear to us, a statement of intent in terms of what NAUT is and the starting point of what we hope will continue to be an interesting foray into the nightside of us as a band and individuals. We thank Season of Mist for their continued support and for allowing us creative freedom. Thank you to everyone who has streamed the singles, watched the videos and taken time out to contact us or comment on them. We hope the rest of the songs on this album fill you with the magic that we have breathed into them - may you shed your skin and dance amongst the ruins! Hopefully see you on the road."

Pre-orders for 'Hunt' are now live HERE and the album can be pre-saved on streaming services HERE.

NAUT are a four piece drum machine rock band from Bristol, whose shared love of classic rock and metal, alongside reverence for the post-punk pioneers of the late 70s and early 80s makes itself known from the start. Triumphant synths and scything guitars entwine with danceable beats, while driving bass-lines, moving to pounding drums, create a dynamic and shifting rhythm section. The tracks pulse with a raw post-punk energy but always remain danceable and (perhaps most dangerously) catchy. The lyrics touch on mental paralysis, impending doom and divided peoples, and with the path our world is currently on they have become more relevant than ever.

Starting out as an evening sharing riffs in a flat in Bristol, the first tracks for NAUT had their genesis in 2016. Those first riffs, written by Gavin (vocals) & Jack (guitars) grew to become something much more compelling and after that initial moment, the idea of a band was born. Gathering musicians from Bristol’s small but active post-punk scene and armed with rough recordings, NAUTstarted working on the tracks as a full band in June 2017.

It all rapidly fell into place. NAUT's first show was in September 2017 followed by two shows supporting Grave Pleasures before the year was out, and they entered the studio the following November. Raise the Lights - their debut EP was recorded at RS Studios in Bristol by Jamie Elton (Moss, Amulet, Spite) and was mastered by Orgone Studios (Ulver, Grave Pleasures, Ghost). The final mastered tracks were ready in March 2018 and plans were put in motion for a June release of a debut EP that made people take notice. The intention was to break out into the world and NAUT did just that, with coverage in Kerrang! Magazine as well as a host of smaller blogs, publications and radio.

2018 saw more live shows with Abysmal Grief and David Eugene Edwards & Alexander Hacke as well as a sell out show in Bristol, and the start of some new material.

Not content to sit still, NAUT were soon ready to enter the studio again with new tracks written at the end of 2018, initially planned as a double A single, but growing into a 3 track EP. The song writing was rooted firmly in the foundations laid by Raise the Lights, but also broke new ground. With a solo in the title track Semele provided by Henrik Palm (Henrik Palm, ex-In Solitude, ex-Ghost) and the same winning combination of recording with Jamie Elton and Orgone Studios taking care of mastering duties the tracks were finished by April 2019.

The 'Semele' EP was released in November 2019 and was well-received. Featured in multiple high profile websites such as Louder, Vive le Rock, Distorted Sound and more, the EP helped establish NAUT on the scene as a band to watch.

Alongside this, NAUT played several more shows, including supporting post-punk legends Pink Turns Blue and playing the warmup show for Incineration Festival in London alongside Idle Hands.

'Threads' and 'Hand in Hand' were recorded in late 2019, building on the spirit of experimentation in the 'Semele' EP whilst calling on elements from Raise the Lights, creating a tantalising mix of the two. The songs were once again recorded by Jamie Elton with mastering handled by Orgone Studios.

During this time NAUT remained an active presence in the UK live scene, sharing the stage with bands as diverse as their fan base, from Discharge to Orange Goblin.

The end of 2019 also saw a change in NAUT’s format, with the departure of their drummer. NAUT had started life as a drum machine project before the addition of Kenny Selway for the debut EP, and after a string of changes, the obvious choice was to return to that format. This opened up new avenues for musical exploration, on and off stage.

With the spectre of a global pandemic looming large, in March 2020 NAUTplayed their last live appearance of that year in a sold out St Pancras Church in London with King Dude.

With that the world of live music went silent.

However NAUT remained active below the surface, 'Threads' and 'Hand in Hand' were released as a double A side 7” in June 2020. With this release NAUT further gained the attention of fans from across the spectrum of dark music. Word spread further around the scene adding fans to the ever growing following, with Hand in Hand featured in Kerrang! Magazine’s Kerrang! Rock Chart and a number of other high profile goth and post-punk playlists and the music video, creatively produced under the restrictions of a strict lockdown, garnering a strong reception.

Not content with releasing these new songs, work on a debut album was also underway. Over the long months of restrictions and lockdowns NAUT crafted the demos for their debut album, making the most of the dormant state of the music world, something special was being fashioned. The turmoil of 2020 also opened other opportunities and NAUT struck a partnership with Doomstar booking agency, ready for whenever the venues open.

Now NAUT are excited to have signed with Seasons of Mist for the release of their debut album. The label has come to represent all shades of musical darkness and feels like a strong pairing for NAUT, as although the band are less extreme in their musical approach, dark music in all its facets underlies all that they do.

NAUT can't wait to share this upcoming slab of infectious and pulsing drum machine rock with you all.

Liverpool indie rock outfit The Room reform after 38-year hiatus, releasing invigorating 'Restless Fate' LP

"A band who have a genuine need to create art, they create literate, film-like songs aimed as much at the mind as the feet. They are not looking back to past glories at all, but looking forward to future ones. In Restless Fate, they have already found one" ~ Louder Than War

After a lengthy hiatus, Liverpool post-punk / indie rock stalwarts The Room are back to release the first new music recorded in 38 years. Originally formed in 1979 by singer Dave Jackson and bassist Becky Stringer, their new 'Restless Fate' LP was recorded and mixed at Ark Studios in Liverpool. Co-produced by Steve Powell (Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band, Autour De Lucie, Echo & The Bunnymen), the album was released on 9x9 Records.

‘Restless Fate’ picks up where the band left off. At times shimmering, at times haunting, their melodic blend of progressive, alternative pop and sultry post-punk is just as relevant and captivating now as when they broke up in 1985. An exploration of man’s search for meaning and the dysfunction of the human condition, there is still a relentless optimism at the core of this record.

The Room also present the video for the album's lead single 'The Drift', created by Mark Jordan. Inspired by long peaceful walks during lockdown, contrasted with a sense of inevitable drifting apart and loss, Jackson reflects on how people come and go from our lives over the years in a beautiful melancholic tale of slow loss.

The Room earned the support of John Peel, with whom they recorded four sessions (Strange Fruit eventually released 'The Peel Session'), an appearance on 'The Whistle Test' show, and production support from Television's Tom Verlaine and John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Billy Bragg, Microdisney) on their 'In Evil Hour' LP (1984). Recordings from their two sessions for Janice Long's BBC Radio One programme and Saturday Live would be used for the band's final release while together - the 'Jackpot Jack' EP (1985). In 2004, the LTM label released the 'No Dream (Best Of)' compilation, followed by the 'Indoor Fireworks' LP, recorded in 1982 and released via Red Flame Records in 2005.

Past members include Robyn Oldlum, Clive Thomas, Alan Wills, Paul Cavanagh and Peter Baker. Having toured the UK and the USA, The Room has performed with The Fall, The Birthday Party, Bauhaus, Southern Death Cult, Violent Femmes, Tom Verlaine, John Foxx and The Red Guitars.

Following the band's split, Becky and Dave went on to form several other bands: Benny Profane, Dust and Dead Cowboys. Dave has also recorded under his own name and, most recently, he issued a string of releases as The Room in the Wood (with Paul Cavanagh).

Since lockdown, Dave and Becky reunited to record their new album under their original name, joined by guitarist Darren Brown, Becky's son Ethan Kyme on keyboards and drummer Tom McCabe.

"It's great to be working with Becky Stringer again and the infusion of new blood has produced an album we're proud of.  Live reaction to the new songs has been amazing. A recent trip to Manila to perform old songs by The Room with Filipino musicians at Sneak Attack was the first time I'd sung them since 1985. It's great to revisit old stuff, but writing new songs as The Room is where the excitement really lies. New Dreams from an island cursed by Restless Fate," says Dave Jackson.

"'Sleepless' is about addiction to media that keeps us on our phones and obsessed by trivia. 'Red Admiral' is a reflection on childhood with an implied murder mystery hidden in the picture. 'Kingdom' is an atheists hymn. 'Crying Face' is about a Facebook troll I know. 'Bull in the Doorway' is about the paintings of Francis Bacon. 'Mirror World' is an oblique response to a misinformation in the media. 'Cursed Islands' is about an island off the coast of Napoli and also the redundant World Islands in Dubai. 'Time Comes' was another response to lockdown. 'The Reeds' is about a bereaved swan on Prince's Park Lake."

The 'Restless Fate' album is out now, available digitally across fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon. It can also be obtained on CD and as a vinyl record via Liverpool-based 9x9 Records.

Dive deep into reflective dreampop in 'Fades To Gray' by South Carolina's THE YETS

"An exquisite sonic document that manages to make life's various events, including disappointments and tragedy, sound heavenly, gently gliding through this series of compositions" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"An almost perfect union between prime Cocteau Twins and prime mid-seventies (or any period) L.A. version of Fleetwood Mac, with Wilson’s vocals and Snook’s guitars at the forefront" ~ Rock At Night Magazine

"Steeped in the tropes of quintessential vintage alternative pop... With a broad pallet of tuneful wistfulness and textured, layered instrumentation, coupled with some smart and sensitive production, The Yets have landed with a seriously accomplished debut" ~ Aural Aggravation

Alternative pop duo The Yets present 'Fades To Gray', their latest slice of rich texture and dark delight from their recently-released self-titled EP, released via South Carolina indie imprint Royal Terns Records.

Highlighted by the gorgeous Cocteau Twins-inspired 'Letter To A Boy' and earlier singles 'Remember' and 'Lesser Evil', this six-track debut offering indie pop sensation and sonic temptation with a fresh, but seemingly familiar, adult alternative vibe.

The Yets is the creative union of Robin Wilson on vocals and guitarist-producer Craig Anderson Snook, who met when Robin returned to her home state after some years in Georgia.

“Our debut EP is basically a snapshot of life … ups, downs, ins, outs, happy, sad and everything in between. 'Fades to Gray' is simply about the beauty and frailty of life, metaphorically colored and fading.  It’s lyrically full of references; in color and motion.  Take for example the phrase "A picture painted thin", which points to the delicate balance of life which erodes with time as paint from a canvas and ultimately fades to gray," says Robin Wilson.

Craig Anderson Snook adds, “We hope the video adds depth and perspective to the message of the song. Life is precious, fragile, and short ... the soul is universal, strong and eternal. We’re already working on the next album … can’t wait to see you there!”

Based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, their music combines elements of ethereal pop and popular rock classics with a sound embracing Fleetwood Mac and Cocteau Twins in equal measure. Breeding and bearing a distinct Americana lining, this EP is an emotively cast and atmospherically delightful proposition.

Haunting, dynamic and smooth, The Yets transform the classic to contemporary, counting Roxy Music, David Bowie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cult, Cocteau Twins, Pink Floyd and even Soundgarden among their musical influences.

Craig Anderson Snook has performed semi-professionally since he was 13. His musical passion led him beyond cover bands into composition, arrangement, audio engineering, production and ultimately to running his own Royal Terns Recordslabel and studio, where he recorded, mixed and produced the new EP.

After being immersed in the music scene while in high school, Robin found her way to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she fronted the goth-rock band Bachelors of Art (B.O.A.). Upon relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she fronted the female alt-rock group Skirt, touring the USA extensively and supporting numerous high profile acts.

'The Yets' EP is out now, streamable via Spotify and available to order, digitally or on CD, directly from the band via Bandcamp.

Formed in the summer of 2019, The Lonely Ones are a four piece, vocal-oriented hard rock band with an ear for melody and a taste for success. The group features Marty McCoy on guitar / vocals, Tommy Johnson on drums, Jymmy Tolland on guitar / vocals and Tru Roberts on bass / vocals. Being no strangers to the hardships of the music industry, The Lonely Ones consist of former members of Bobaflex. Together, they knew what they wanted and knew how to get it; by combining their knowledge and experiences to achieve a common goal. With determined perseverance and an energized drive to triumph, they were ready to release their first two singles independently in March of 2020; with the titles “Eternal Sadness" and "The Lonely One."

A few months after their initial introduction to the world of rock, the band decided to take a major leap of faith and release their re-imagined version of Queen's classic song "Flash." There’s always the risk of scrutiny and criticism when it comes to covering classic songs, especially ones that are still regarded with high praise from the still thriving fan base, but the band was confident their rendition would not only honor the original but also garner renewed attention for the hit theme. Any doubts were squashed when the song and video were met with rave reviews, including those of Brian May from Queen and Sam J. Jones, Flash Gordon himself.

Brian May was quoted as saying, “What a fantastic cover! I didn’t realize they were going to go into The Hero and the whole reprise ... magnificent!"

Sam J Jones adds, "This is one of the best covers I have ever heard and seen. What a gifted group - The Lonely Ones are for every one of us, from the 1980’s to right now!"

Humbled by the response from fans, listeners and legends in the entertainment industry, the band was spurred on in their pursuit to create groundbreaking original music. In September of 2020, The Lonely Ones released another brand new single titled "Real Big Trouble." What started out as a fun and creative session quickly turned out to be one of their most rewarding. This is one of the heaviest songs the band has ever written, but it also gives a look into what sounds inspire them, such as Thin Lizzy and Beartooth.

By February of 2021, the band had signed on with Imagen Records and released another single called “Change the Station.” This release had 9 active rock stations add the single in the first week and they were a feature artist on Spotify's Rock Hard editorial playlist as well as over 100 other playlists in the first week as well.

The next release through Imagen was "Dyin' All Night Long" in June of 2021. A song about an abusive relationship and how often times excuses are made over and over for that person. The lyrics come from the perspective of a victim having had enough of it.

The band released two more singles titled "Gettin' High" (2021) and “The Way Out”(2022) via Imagen Records before ultimately going independent.
The band spent the summer of 2022 getting back to the grind and writing new songs. The Lonely Ones’ latest release "Bedroom Door" in October of 2022, is one of many to be debuted in the year 2023.

The Lonely Ones have played shows with Sevendust, Nonpoint, Fozzy, Royal Bliss, Seven Year Witch, Black Top Mojo, September Mourning and many more.

In addition, the band is endorsed by: Orange Amps, Westone Audio, Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Evan's Heads, Vater Sticks, Ibanez, Frog Amplification, Tech 21 Amplification, Michael Kelly Guitars, SIT Strings, Rare Buzz Effects and Strüng, which is guitar string jewelry that raises money for music education.

In 2022, industry veterans David Rath, former head of A&R at the esteemed Roadrunner Records, and Cees Wessels, founder of Roadrunner Records, formed Blue Grape Music. The name will be familiar to rock music fans, as it was the merchandise company also launched by Wessels.

With a rich history of working with bands such as Nickelback, Slipknot, Type O Negative, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Turnstile, and more — bands that truly broke ground and went on to have long, successful, platinum-plus careers — Rath and Wessels are bringing their wealth of expertise to a new era of bands and a new era of the music industry.

Rath spent 21 years in the A&R and Creative Departments of Roadrunner Records, having been A&R on albums by Slipknot, Korn, Gojira, Coheed and Cambria, Slash, The Amity Affliction, Trivium, Stone Sour, Dream Theater, and Megadeth, and where he oversaw music videos from Nickelback, Theory Of A Deadman, Killswitch Engage, Jerry Cantrell, and Slipknot. Rath helped guide the label through multiple changes in ownership and management, after which he oversaw the signings of platinum-selling acts Young The Giant and Vance Joy for Atlantic and Elektra Records. As the head of the A&R department at Roadrunner, Rath most recently signed and A&R'd Grammy nominated acts Turnstile and Code Orange, along with White Reaper and Motionless In White, both of whom recently scored #1 Alternative and Active Rock radio hits. Prior to Roadrunner, Rath, a graduate of Villanova University, was the Director of The Philadelphia Music Conference and drummer for the Columbia Records band Heavens Edge.

The new label strives to empower its artists with the support and tools needed to create the kind of music and art that inspires the culture and propels it forward.

The current staff also includes Roadrunner alumnae Suzi Akyuz as SVP of Marketing, and Paolo d'Alessandro as Executive VP of International.

Distributed by Sony Music's The Orchard, Blue Grape's artists have the muscle and reach of a major with the attention and dedication of an indie. With a global staff, each artist's team is carefully crafted to best serve their creative vision and goals.

"My time with Cees developing some of the most important bands in music history was the most valuable in my career to date," says Rath. "I couldn’t ask for a more knowledgeable partner to begin this journey with."

Blue Grape's inaugural signing is the two-time Grammy nominee Code Orange and the first release for the label will be What Is Really Underneath? The release arrives on February 17 and serves as a companion album to the critically acclaimed Underneath that is part-remix, part-soundtrack.

"I have been lucky enough to be on the ground floor with Dave Rath and co. watching them build the foundation of Blue Grape Music," says Code Orange frontman Jami Morgan. "There is no group of people that I have more faith in to create a fresh, forward leaning home for rock music and beyond. Code Orange are plank walkers. First goers. That is exactly what we intend to do here and why we have chosen to partner with BGM. We are excited to establish an artist friendly home for those looking to forge new ground on a major level. As a team we will learn from the past and build the future."

Code Orange's trajectory thus far embodies the Blue Grape ethos — that dedication, forward-thinking strategies, and quality music will always propel a band to the next level.

Additional Blue Grape signings will be revealed in the coming months.

Blue Grape will be headquartered in NYC with its European operation in Amsterdam.

Last in Line (Def Leppard, ex-Black Sabbath, ex-Ozzy) Share "Do The Work" Video — WATCH

NEW ALBUM JERICHO OUT MARCH 31 VIA EARMUSIC

LAST IN LINE — frontman Andrew Freeman (ex-Lynch Mob), bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne), and former Dio comrades-in-arms Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard), and Vinny Appice (ex-Black Sabbath) — have dropped the video for the new single "Do The Work" from the forthcoming studio album Jericho.

"Modern slaves are not in chains / Do you get wet / Or do you feel the rain?" – even though people may not be physically restrained, they can still feel like they are chained to their circumstances. "Do The Work" is a dynamic and thought-provoking track that encourages listeners to strive for success and self-realization despite any obstacles they may face. The catchy and uplifting chorus invites you to shout along with the band: Do the work!

The  video, produced by Last in Line, captures the raw energy and unbridled joy of playing heavy music. But be warned: You may find yourself nostalgically reminiscing about a time when great music was the only thing that mattered, and when rock and metal videos were unscripted and genuine.

Jericho will be released on March 31 via earMUSIC. The album features 12 new tracks that are sure to please all fans of the genre. Pre-order the album here.

Gideon Share "Take Off" — WATCH + LISTEN // Band On Tour Now!

ALBUM ARRIVES MARCH 17 VIA EQUAL VISION

BAND CURRENTLY ON HEADLINE TOUR

Alabama metalcore warriors GIDEON — drummer Jake Smelley, vocalist Daniel McWhorter, guitarist/vocalist Tyler Riley, and bassist Caleb DeRusha — previously announced their new album MORE POWER. MORE PAIN. The album arrives on March 17 via Equal Vision. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has shared the visualizer for the new single "Take Off," which boasts a crunchy, early '00s-inspired groove and layered vocal cadence. Watch and listen below.

"Buckle up —it's pedal to the metal from starting line to finish line on this heavy nü metal/hip-hop-infused track. File under 'Songs to quit your job to.' Soon to be blasted at a drag strip near you. Hold on tight, we're 'bout to 'Take Off.'"

ABOUT GIDEON:
Since forming in 2008 in Tuscaloosa, AL, Gideon had been making a name for themselves by defying convention, creating their own distinct sound and never settling for anything that was just run of the mill or ordinary. Rather, the band kept stretching the boundaries of their sound to great acclaim and to increasing commercial success. 2011's debut album, Costs, established them as powerhouse of the metalcore scene, but that's something the band simultaneously pushed away from it, incorporating elements of melodic hardcore and hardcore punk into the fold of their songs, but always with an underlying sense of positivity and defiance. Impressively prolific, the band released their next two full-lengths, Milestone and Calloused, on Facedown Records in 2012 and 2014 respectively, before signing to Equal Vision Records.

Their first album for EVR was 2017's Cold, followed by Out Of Control in 2019, a record that deservedly saw the band's profile rising steadily. And then, of course, the pandemic hit. And all that hard work and dedication, and the progress they'd made vanished in an instant. In fact, Gideon were mid-tour on that album cycle when touring came grinding to a halt and forced the band to return home to Alabama, frustrated and disillusioned with a situation that—like most touring bands—thought might mean the end of what they do. Thankfully, it didn't, which brings us to Gideon's sixth full-length studio album.

Recorded/mixed/mastered by Randy Lebouef at Graphic Nature Audio, MORE POWER. MORE PAIN. is a brutally intense burst of violent noise that both nods to the band's past, musically and thematically, but also establishes itself in its own context.

"We had to walk through fire and break down walls to get to this chapter," says Smelley. "We're done explaining why we are the way we are. This album is for the misunderstood, the dreamers, the broken, the damned, the ones that refuse to fall in line. When everything and everyone tells you to give up, your mind can take you to dark places. We came to realize that there was strength in that. Instead of letting it consume us, we fought like hell."

Gideon are currently on a headline tour, with support from For the Fallen Dreams, Orthodox, and Guerrilla Warfare will also appear. Get tickets here.

Solence Release New Album '_hope is a cult_' + Drop New Music Video For "Best For You" via Hopeless Records

Solence fans, rejoice! Release day is upon us and the band has today unleashed their new album '_hope is a cult_' (via Hopeless Records). '_hope is a cult_' is Solence's follow-up to their 2021 smash-hit LP 'Deafening'. In celebration of the drop, Solence has shared the music video for their track "Best For You". Speaking on today's news, the band commented:

This album is full of deeply personal and emotional songs to us as a band and individuals. Our intention is to share the HOPE that inspires us each and every day with the listeners whom we consider family. We are so excited about these tracks and the community we’re building together. So put on your headphones, raise the volume, and join the CULT!

Leading up to today, Solence has released music videos and visualizers for tracks "Rain Down", "Demons", "Blood Sweat Tears", "nuBlood" featuring Bryan Kuznitz from Fame On Fire, and most recently, "Antidote". Altogether, the visuals have clocked up over half a million views on YouTube with no signs of stopping. Stream '_hope is a cult_' here and watch the music video for "Best For You" below.

No matter where we come from, music draws us together and bonds us. For as much as SOLENCE sonically conjoin elements of metal, electronic, alternative, and pop, the Swedish group also appeal to an expansive swath of personalities with a universal message. Equally suitable for the mosh pit or Coachella, the band—Markus Videsäter [vocals], David “Viking” Vikingsson [drums], David Strääf [guitar], and Johan Swärd [keys]—rally around a familial energy meant to be shared as loudly as possible. After quietly generating north of 200 million streams and counting, they welcome everyone closer on their third full-length offering and Hopeless Records debut, _hope is a cult_, and more to come.

“We want to build up this family around positivity, hope, and the belief you can change things,” notes Markus. “We want you to forget everything that bothers you when you listen to this album. If we’re doing our job, audiences feel like they’re a part of it. When you go to a SOLENCE show, you have a good time, so hope is a cult for us.”

ASHLEY McBRYDE BRINGS LINDEVILLE LIVE TO

stellar ensemble cast for album-as-concert” – The Tennessean

Following her first GRAMMY Award earlier this month, The New York Times-lauded “skilled curator, as well as a performer” Ashley McBryde, with her collaborators and special guests, brought two things to Music City the past two nights: her critically-acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville to the Mother Church and sold-out crowds to their feet throughout the theatrical experience.

“I can’t even believe that Lindeville at the Ryman is something we were able to dream of and then DO,” McBryde shared after the show. “To have two sold out nights with the people that developed this project with me was unbelievable. It took a lot to bring Lindeville and all of its characters and charisma to life, and we’re all thankful that so many people wanted to be part of our little town.”

“As a musician, it’s rare when you play a show that really stands out as something genuinely special,” added bandleader John Osborne. “Something that reminds you why you picked up an instrument in the first place. Tonight, for me, was that night.”

As the lights dimmed, the girl in the red dress as seen on the album cover sat alone on stage, turning the pages of a book, following along with a narration from McBryde:

“Three little misfits had an idea one muggy as hell afternoon. The idea, it was weird, but they weren’t ‘a-feared,’ for they knew another weirdo or two. They figured they knew just exactly the few they would call to chorale and explore. The phone calls were made and if you ask them, they'll say, ‘The stars lined up too good to ignore.’ Soon there were six at a small kitchen table in a cabin, mysterious and quirky. They toiled away all hours of the day, helping themselves to tequila and jerky. It wasn’t long before song after song came falling right out of the ether – onto sketch pads and laptops and guitars and keyboards about pawn shops and strippers and preachers. What they had on their hands, through some kind of plan, was so magic, it grew legs and wings. So Ash called a friend who said he was in, he built the band and asked her who should sing. There was just one more dream these weirdos could dream, and it’s all yours tonight. You’ve got good timing. Ladies and gents, we proudly present: Lindeville Live.”

Introducing the audience to the wild and wonderful town, McBryde, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack on night one and Lainey Wilson on night two, kicked off the set with album opener “Brenda Put Your Bra On” backed by the Lindeville Band, immersing the crowd into the NPR-dubbed “glorious detour into downhome character studies” that “sits at the intersection of storytelling country concept albums and musical theater,” as a flood of brassieres were hurled on stage.

The set was interrupted by a cheetah-print-clad Jenny from the floor of the Ryman, giving Aaron Raitiere an ear full as he strolled on stage, filling the air with laughter ahead of performing “Jesus Jenny,” with POLLSTAR noting “the regret, tenderness and embarrassment he feels for the woman was delivered as a complicated cocktail of compassion that’s easy to miss if working in caricatures.”

Led by Charlie Worsham, the Bluegrass band backed each jingle throughout the evening, with McBryde donning an apron for “Dandelion Diner,” followed by Pillbox Patti’s “The Girl In The Picture,” a heartfelt power ballad for a missing woman named Caroline that landed on Los Angeles Times“Best Songs of 2022.”

Dubbed by Stereogum as “a soft-glowing honky tonk lullaby,” Shelly Fairchild expressed the irony in “If These Dogs Could Talk” with ease as McBryde provided background vocals from a park bench, accompanied by Pete and his dog (a stuffed Husky later adopted by an audience member via the Lindeville Humane Society), from Brothers Osborne’s sentimental ballad, with TJ Osborne’s Esquire-dubbed “classic, sonorous voice” resonating through the auditorium reminding us to “go to church, love your momma and ‘Play Ball.’”

Queued up by What Fuzz Radio DJ Storme Warren, Raitiere, armed with a tank top, cargo shorts, socks, slides and a bag of avocados, along with Fairchild in her sparkly top, green leggings and case of Bud Light, transported the audience to Food City with “paired pidgin-level method acting with songwriting that made the entire proceeding feel –  appropriately – like suburban community theater,” as noted by The Tennessean, in “The Missed Connection Section of the Lindeville Gazette.”

Hailed by Billboard “as one of the project’s most gripping, soul-searching pulses,” Benjy Davis began “Gospel Night at the Strip Club” to cheers from the audience, the lights coming up just in time for the chorus led by five local drag queens, Vivica Steele, Justine Van de Blair, Britney Banks, Vidalia Anne Gentry and Shelby Lá Banks, as the at-capacity crowd came to their feet to join. “That line, ‘Jesus loves the drunkards and the whores and the queers’ is crucial,” asserts PASTE, “because it makes explicit the project’s unifying theme: Everyone is flawed, and everyone is worthy of love and respect despite those flaws. Perhaps we should spend less time hiding our sins and weaknesses, and more time forgiving the same in others.”

With just two notes, the crowd remained standing and whooped for the all-female driven cover of The Everly Brothers’ “When Will I Be Loved,” as vocals soared from McBryde, Fairchild, Patti and Wilson before McBryde rejoined the Bluegrass band for the album’s final jingle “Forkem Family Funeral Home” with urn in hand for those “two-for-one cremations.”

Rejoined by Fairchild, Patti and Wilson, McBryde launched into “Bonfire At Tina’s,” celebrated as PAPERMagazine’s “No. 1 Country Song of 2022” noting, “the women of country continue to create fruitful collaborations and build each other up in spite of a system that has encouraged them to tear each other down. Light it up, indeed.”

The Bluegrass band, referred to as Levi and the Wranglers and Good Time and the Bad Decisions among other aliases throughout the evening, prompted the audience to join them for a classic Grand Ole Opry singalong with “I Saw The Light,” complete with rhythmic clapping and stomping.

McBryde then perched solo on a stool, a backdrop of shining stars behind her, for album closer “Lindeville” from the perspective of the town’s clock tower, laying bare “a lovely benediction for this place and its unresolved conflicts, a gentle reminder that we’re all a little messy and deserve a little grace as well,” observes Rolling Stone.

Written by the album’s namesake Dennis Linde, the entire cast returned to the stage for a cover of The Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl” as an homage to the songwriter whose methods inspired the “six weirdos” who sat around a kitchen table in a cabin outside of Nashville, giving their beloved characters a place to live.

Following the company’s final bows, McBryde returned to the stage solo to perform her GRAMMY-nominated hit “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” As fans flocked to the stage, the Arkansas native paused throughout the performance to take in the crowd’s reaction to her line “I hear the crowd,” before concluding the evening with a heartfelt thank you to the sold-out audience for coming along on this journey, and especially, this joyous occasion.

The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her GRAMMY-winning duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM and CMA award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde was also honored with the 2022 CMA International Artist Achievement Award for the most significant creative growth, development and promotion of the country music industry outside of the United States. The Arkansas-native invites listeners to Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, a collaborative project featuring Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack, Aaron Raitiere and more, earning McBryde her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making her a six-time GRAMMY nominee.
