originally released by American rock band The Doors in the 60's. Liv's version of the song was produced by Svend “The Dane” Lerche and Executive Producer LeeAnna JamesLiv Strange chose the date of December 8th to release the cover in honor of Jim Morrison's birthday today.

"I decided to cover 'People Are Strange' because I've always been enamored by the oddities of the 'average' individual; the hidden secrets and twisted mind of your next door neighbor. We are all strange in our own way. In knowing that, it can either keep us connected to our personal freedom or burdened by its ghastly shadow," says Strange.

Liv Strange is an alternative pop artist from Chicago, Illinois, currently living in Los Angeles. You can hear 90’s grunge and theatrical elements shine throughout her musical style. Inspired by a multitude of dramatic cinema and rock music, her style shows itself through the likes of Post MaloneMiley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey.

As a child, she often escaped into her own fantasy world by dressing up as different imaginary characters and performing her favorite songs in her family room mirror, exposing her to an intimate world of performance. Though she dreaded the idea of school, she found her only solace through music groups where she learned how to use her voice. As a shy kid, she often strayed away from the crowd. Liv’s own solitude gave her the perfect opportunity to explore her musical fantasies where she started writing her own songs and eventually learned to play the guitar. She writes and produces all of her songs to this day.

Liv’s talent brought her all the way to Romania where she worked alongside many gifted musicians from “HaHaHa Production”, writing songs that would help unravel her musical rawness. Liv’s music can be described as dark and theatrical, with a hint of rock influence. A few of her many musical heroes include: Danny ElfmanNirvana and Queens of The Stone Age, continuing her part as a long-time fan of the swagger and style of male driven performers she always aspired to be like.

Liv has teamed up with two professional songwriters, LeeAnna James and PJ Bianco, who have helped define and amp up her unique sound. After years of artist development, she is ready to push her first ever EP out into the world where people can finally get a taste of who she is. The mysterious, yet quirky, Liv Strange.

NEW SINGLE + VIDEO, 'A FOND FAREWELL', OUT NOW -

Robert Berry will return with a second 3.2 album, “Third Impression” on February 12, 2021. 3.2 is a continuation of the band 3, in which Berry played alongside Carl Palmerand the late, great Keith Emerson. Today, fans can get their first 'impression' of the new album with the release of the single and video, 'A Fond Farewell'. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/FhZ7-8K2oP0

Pre-order/save "Third Impression" HERE: https://orcd.co/thirdimpression

"Third Impression," the follow up to 3.2's debut album, "The Rules Have Changed," is a fine match for its predecessor. It mixes epic songs, such as album opener “Top Of The World” and closing song “Never”, the latter co-written by Robert with Emerson, with more melodic and AOR moments.

“Being left with “Never”, the final song that Keith and I worked on, weighed heavily on me,” Robert explains. “It was as if my friend was still here as we had this song unreleased to the world. It was a big and powerful piece of music, but was too long to fit on “The Rules Have Changed”. However, the more I listened to it, the more it brought me back to the many conversations Keith and I had about style and where 3's sound may have headed. I am so proud of these 3.2 albums and my time in 3. Playing with Keith was, and will remain, the best experience of my musical life.”

The choice of “A Fond Farewell” as the first single to be taken from “Third Impression” was swiftly agreed between Robert and Frontiers. “It can be difficult for an artist to pick out which song from an album should be the first to be released to the world,” Robert continues. “As on the previous 3.2 album “The Rules Have Changed”, Frontiers’ choice made complete sense. Not only because of the current state of the world, but also for reasons that true fans of 3.2 will understand, “A Fond Farewell” is the perfect launch for the final works started with the band 3.”

In October 2015, conversations about a new 3 album started between Robert Berry and Frontiers President Serafino Perugino as Robert had been speaking to Keith Emerson about recording a new album to follow 3’s “…To The Power Of Three” album which was released in 1988. From old cassette tapes, including some Emerson keyboard parts and demos, collaborating on musical ideas over the phone, to long discussions about musical direction, the framework of the album was set, but Emerson’s untimely death in March 2016 made the album an uncertainty initially. After several months of grieving and contemplation about what to do with these co-written songs and musical fragments from Emerson, Robert decided to resume work on the material and craft a record that would ultimately be a fitting tribute to Keith Emerson’s musical legacy and at the same time re-energize and update the musical style started with 3 some 30 years ago. The final result was 3.2, a reboot of the original 3 project. The 3.2 album, titled “The Rules Have Changed” and released in 2018, is a record that deserves to be heard by each and every fan of the great Keith Emerson and includes some exquisite musical parts, which every progressive music fan will be delighted to indulge in.

The working relationship between the legendary keyboard player Keith Emerson and singer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Berry started in 1987. Iconic manager Brian Lane (Yes, Asia, A-Ha, etc.) and drummer Carl Palmer arranged a meeting between the two prolific musicians. The plan was to form a more melodic, song oriented band (compared to Emerson Lake & Palmer), which would allow Emerson, Berry and Palmer to follow in the footsteps of the success that Asia and GTR were enjoying in that period. And thus, 3 was born, resulting in a top 10 US single in “Talkin’ Bout” and an acclaimed North American tour.

Look out for “Third Impression” on February 12, 2021.

TOMBS is currently supporting their latest full-length, 'Under Sullen Skies,' which was released in November of 2020. The record has been named one of the best metal releases of 2020 by Metal Insider, Decibel Magazine, and others while drummer Justin Spaeth has been dubbed one of the best drummers of 2020 by Sick Drummer Magazine.

In addition, TOMBS previously premiered the official music video for their new song, "The Hunger," which pays homage to cinema's most infamous vampires! The song and video, which was created by Jaclyn Sheer

'Under Sullen Skies' can be streamed, downloaded, and ordered HERE.

There’s a line from Mike Hill’s audiobook/tour diary of ANODYNE’s 2004 European tour in which the gravel-throated frontman affirms, “I will always outwork you.” In that case, Hill was referring to an incident in Germany early on during a six-week long overseas jaunt with his previous band. In actuality, however, he could have been talking about any instance between when he first picked up a guitar as a teen and the present. Whether it’s his history dating back to previous bands OTIS, ANODYNE, KING GENERATOR or VERSOMA, his ongoing solo work in VASILEK, the more recent SCORPION THRONE project or his thirteen year reign as the driving force and nerve center of post-black metal institution TOMBS, hard work is second nature and nothing will keep the guitarist/vocalist from creative endeavor and expression. And it’s not just music in which his propulsive work ethic has gleaned results: Hill also is the CEO and roast master at Savage Gold Coffee (a labelling nod to TOMBS’ 2014 album of the same name), the host/producer/creator of the Everything Went Black podcast, host and producer of Gimme Radio’s Metal Matters flagship podcast, the creator and co-host of horror podcast Necromaniacs as well as a stalwart in the print and online journalism world covering music and MMA fighting. His is, has been and always will be a life steeped in dedication and with unassailable drive in the cross hairs. And despite the world being put on pause, Hill refuses to curtail his innate determination and ongoing tenacity with the result being TOMBS emerging with the next chapter in its impressive catalog and growing legacy: the band’s fifth full-length, 'Under Sullen Skies'.

“The week VERSOMA broke up in 2007, I started TOMBS,” he says, recalling how, characteristically, the band started before any dust was permitted to settle. “The initial rehearsals ended up being the bulk of material that showed up on the first [self-titled] EP. The intent from the beginning was to get back to playing music I wanted to hear and to not be so concerned with genre or satisfying anyone else’s desires. It was to do music on a personal level and be a reflection of the darkness I’ve felt throughout my life.”

Formed in the gritty corners of pre-gentrified Brooklyn, NY, TOMBS’ early mandate was steeped in the harshness and atonality of black metal but dosed with trace amounts of the varied influences and inspirations ingrained in Hill’s musical muscle memory by previous bands. “The canon of music TOMBS has created has spanned several different genres, but I’ve always had it my intent for there to always be a certain amount of violence and hardness lurking the background.”

Those early years delivered splits and singles, the highly revered 'Winter Hours' debut in 2009 and Decibel’s 2011 Album of the Year, 'Path of Totality'. Never one to sit still, 'Path of Totality' was followed by appreciable and impressive amounts of touring in accordance with the lauding afforded by critics and fans and the braying of foes, which only served as fuel for Hill’s perseverance. Savage Gold came three years later after which a restless Hill began nudging TOMBS’ black metal base into territories populated by gothic and death rock artists like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM and SISTERS OF MERCY as well as avant-garde purveyors Caspar Brotzmann and Live Skull while never forgetting – or being able to – scrape the grime of NYC from under his fingernails. The addition of a second guitar and live keyboards/samples brought a fuller sound and allowed noise sequences and soundscapes to be brought to the live show. It was around the time of 2016 'All Empires Fall' EP that TOMBS punctuated its iconoclastic spirit and thought process. Despite then-being part of the Relapse Records family, the band struck out with the intent of self-releasing the EP in order to retain as much independence as contractual obligations would allow – retaining the digital and publishing rights while eventually licensing the record back to Relapse. A one album stint in 2017 under the Metal Blade banner birthed 'The Grand Annihilation' into the world where TOMBS took broader and more daring steps into buffering black metal with morose melody, sullen death rock and classic METALLICA chugging. Following a parting from Metal Blade, the band – now completed by drummer Justin Spaeth, guitarist Matt Medeiros and bassist Drew Murphy, who are also 3/4ths of New Jersey death metal crew KALOPSIA - quickly found a home on Season of Mist and issued the 'Monarchy of Shadows' EP literally a week before the world went into Coronavirus lockdown.

“The original strategy assumed we would be on the road for most of 2020,” says Hill with a lamenting laugh. “We had a sick tour with Napalm Death planned right after the EP’s release. We were going to record the new full-length before the tour and have it come out in the fall. There was all kinds of tour talk and plans and 2020 would have been a tour-de-force of TOMBSactivity in the United States and Europe. Obviously, none of that is happening, but we’re still going ahead with the record.”

Of course they are. Throw a hurdle in front of Mike Hill and he’ll never shy at rolling up his sleeves and taking on the challenge. Even with the world in shutdown mode, Hill is still brimming with enthusiasm about the input and work ethic of the current TOMBS lineup and how Spaeth, Mederios and Murphy stepped up to the plate in the creation of 'Under Sullen Skies'.

“Everyone contributes on this record and the door has always been open for others to do so. There has always been this misconception that I’m some sort of tyrant always telling people what to do and play. The fact of the matter is that most of the time I outwork people; that’s just the way I am. No one is ever going to outwork me on any level in any area of my life and I was always coming up with material. Now, I have these maniacs in the band who are equally motivated and there’s a whole new life injected into TOMBS. That’s awesome and I love it. These days we’ll try anything and we actually write stuff and throw it out because it’s not perfect. It’s more like a writing committee, which I really appreciate. It’s not just me writing everything. It’s a big difference from 'The Grand Annihilation' which was basically a solo record.”

'Under Sullen Skies' is this lineup’s second kick at twisting black metal’s DNA around dank emotional corners, psychological turmoil and the urban underbelly all of which is unavoidably coloured and touched by the present-day status of life on this here Earth.

“The album’s title came during all this and the sort of post-apocalyptic world we’re living in,” Hill explains. “It encapsulates an overall feeling of gloom and depression which is pretty much how we’ve been living for most of this year. The title was the last piece to fall into place. I remember standing on the roof of the building I was living in at the time on a grey day and it was raining – actually, it wasn’t even raining; it was a half-assed attempt at rain! – and depressing and I just thought, ‘What a sullen sky’ and it just stuck with me.”

The album starts with “Bone Collector,” a furious blast of melodic black metal that shifts gears towards an anthemic fist-pumping slog through the goth rock-thrash metal VENN DIAGRAM. “Void Constellation” takes as many cues from Peaceville Three gloom and doom as it does the death metal stomp of OBITUARY and INCANTATION. “Descensum” mines the various well-worn parts of Ride the Lightning for influence before blasting the doors open with some startlingly spacious chromatic single-note atonality. As the album progresses, further textures and moods are employed via acoustic instrumentation and keyboards as well as sampled soundscapes all butting heads with furious second wave black metal and sly to nods to death rock heroes SISTERS OF MERCY and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, all of the band’s motivations and interests being dropped into the chameleonic pair of tracks closing the album, “Sombre Ruin” and the appropriately titled “Plague Years.”

“‘Barren’ stands out as the song that’s most collaborative,” notes Hill. “Justin wrote the bulk of the riffs on that one, that sort of NWOBHM/SCORPIONS ending part is something I came up with, Matt added a bunch of guitar harmonies over it and Drew’s bass is laid thick underneath. That one is one of the biggest group efforts and one of the strongest songs on the record.
“I explore a lot of the archetypes that are used in folklore on this record, like werewolves and vampires which I’ve always been interested in, and on a song like ‘Secrets of the Black Sun’ I talk about the finite nature of our time on this planet, that nothing is really permanent and being aware of that whether as an individual or as a civilization, which I guess fits in with the pandemic and the changes that are going on. There are all kinds of other people, civilizations and creatures that have come and gone long before us and if you think about it over a long enough time span, everyone’s life expectancy goes down to zero.”

The new album not only sees Hill expanding his creative and collaborative comfort zone by wholly embracing the offerings of his band mates, but he’s also let down the drawbridge to allow folks from beyond the immediate TOMBSfamily to include what he describes as “mad guest spots.”

“There’s Cat Cabral, who does the spoken word piece on ‘Angel of Darkness.’ She’s not a musician per se; she’s more from the occult and witchcraft world. I’ve been friends with her for a really long time and she’s a great resource for esoteric knowledge. She’s also an actress who has done plays and commercials and been in films, so I figured she’d be the perfect person to deliver dialogue in an emotionally deep way, and be good at taking direction. Ray Suhy from SIX FEET UNDER rips the guitar solo in ‘Barren’ and that solo is its own masterpiece, in my opinion. BLACK CROWN INITIATE and former TOMBS live guitarist Andy Thomas contributed a guitar solo in ‘Void Constellation.’ Todd Stern from PSYCROPTIC plays the solo in ‘Mortem.’ Sera Timms from IDES OF GEMINI and BLACK MATH HORSEMAN does guest vocals on ‘Secrets of the Black Sun.’ We’ve got INTEGRITY’s Dwid Hellion singing the chorus on ‘The Hunger’ and BLACK ANVIL’s Paul Delaney also doing a couple of verses on ‘Angel of Darkness.’ So, yeah, there are a bunch of people on there and it’s like a community effort which I enjoy. I like involving people I respect and having them be a part of the whole thing.”

After spending his entire adult life navigating the pitfalls and pratfalls of the industry for expressive and creative opportunity, Hill has amassed an impressive legacy, one that 'Under Sullen Skies' contributes to admirably and irreverently. Like most, the extreme music underground lifer and veteran is probably justified in approaching the future with very muted optimism, but while the world works at screwing its head back on straight, Hill is going to do what he wants to do as well as he possibly can. Uncertainty may reign at the moment, but Hill and TOMBS are still going to do their thing and will be content to please themselves in the process. If anyone else happens to be along for the ride, then welcome aboard.

“'Under Sullen Skies' is a dark and introspective album,” he asserts. “It’s not a happy record that anyone is going to use to get pumped up on a Friday night. We wanted to pull out the stops, go full-on and make a nice body of work. I could care less if anyone likes the band or not because I’ve been through so many ups and downs with this thing that I don’t give a fuck if people enjoy the music. I know I like it, I know the guys in the band like it and we’re just rocking and rolling. This record and the EP came out about as close as I could imagine to what I have in my brain about how this band should sound. The whole trajectory of the band has had each record never quite hitting, but 'Monarchy of Shadows' and 'Under Sullen Skies' have both really come out how I envisioned the songs to be.”

Watch the Official Video for Compelling First Single, “Addiction No. 1“

Founded back in 2001 and after being active as a top-notch offering in the genre for almost 20 years, SIRENIA serve a new, exquisite pearl of symphonic metal: The four-piece around mastermind Morten Veland releases its tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, on February 12, 2021 via Napalm Records!

On this magical output, the French-Norwegian quartet combines a heavy symphonic sound with modern influences, which their most recent record, Arcane Astral Aeons (2018), is proof of. This time, SIRENIA offer an exciting new twist to their songs, spicing them with electronic vibes, but never losing sight of their musical core. Riddles, Ruins & Revelationswas produced, mixed and mastered by Morten Veland himself – which marks his first time doing so.

Today, the band has unleashed a bewitching new music video for the first single “Addiction No. 1”. As the album opener, it immediately showcases the direction SIRENIA are aiming in with their new epos, and is a prime example of how modern melodies chime together with classic symphonic instrumentation. Electronic vibes merge with harsh riffing, while the catchy chorus draws the listener straight into the unique symphonic world of the four-piece, all topped with the outstanding vocals of Emmanuelle Zoldan.

Morten Veland about “Addiction No. 1”:

"This is our first single taken from the upcoming album. Musically I feel that this song really shows a modernised and new side of SIRENIA. I find the song very catchy, but heavy at the same time. Furthermore we have given the electronic elements a bigger role in this song. We hope you'll enjoy it!"

A modern ride straight into the heart of symphonic metal!

With Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, SIRENIA, around mastermind, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Morten Veland, remains as true to their album title word-play as they do to their dedication to symphonic soundscapes, drawing the listener into a pounding narrative about the darkest aspects of life. All eleven songs accumulate step by step to an integral sound artwork, where the versatile mezzo soprano voice of singer Emmanuelle Zoldan always shines in high-profile. In addition, there are many enchanting, instrumental surprises lurking on the way that absolutely need to be discovered.

"We Come To Ruins" offers a contrast of harshness to the more modern-orientated songs on the record, like “The Timeless Waning”, and skillfully portrays the multi-faceted nature of the band. On "Downwards Spiral", Emmanuelle is supported by the remarkable voice of longtime friend Joakim Næss on clean vocals, who has joined the symphonic metal outfit on previous releases. SIRENIA’s tenth full-length ends with a cover of Desireless` 1986 hit “Voyage Voyage”, where the unit again impressively combines symphonic sounds with electronic atmosphere, which doesn’t count only for this final epos, but for Riddles, Ruins & Revelations as a whole.

Veland on the album:

“Riddles, Ruins & Revelations is SIRENIA's tenth studio album. The album is very diverse, as a SIRENIA album should be. There's a lot of material that shows the band from a new side, and there is lots of material that is to be expected from the band musically. All in all the album will take the listeners through a journey that will cover both familiar and unexplored musical landscapes. We hope that you will enjoy the journey.

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT have previously released a live EP of their performance at Metal Injection's 'Slay at Home' Festival.

Having reaped critical acclaim for their latest album 'Finisterre' (2017) and solidifying their position as one of the best live bands out there, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT are about to release their first ever live album, recorded in Lido, Berlin (Germany) on October 14, 2017. Over the relatively short period of 10 years, the sound of DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT has clearly progressed, making each piece fit more seamlessly. 'Finisterre' flows together into a coherent picture that stresses the Germans’ unique approach and sound. This impressive maturity has been reached through several stages.

Founded in 2009 by guitarist Nikita Kamprad and vocalist Tobias Jaschinsky, DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT garnered early attention with their self-released debut 'Der Weg einer Freiheit' (2009), which quickly sold out and was re-issued with new drum tracks a year later. Following the 'Agonie' EP (2011), their second album 'Unstille' (2012) already cored international acclaim. In the aftermath of this record, co-founding member Tobias left and main songwriter Nikita Kamprad took over his vocal duties.

The frontman was first heard on third full-length 'Stellar' (2015), which sawDER WEG EINER FREIHEIT gaining traction across the pond as well as expanding their European base. Having performed along such diverse acts as WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, NEAERA, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, AMENRA, CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX, and DOWNFALL OF GAIA as well as playing prestigious festivals such as Graspop, Hellfest, Resurrection, Roadburn, Summer Breeze, and Wacken has honed the band’s songwriting skills to razor-sharp precision.

On North Star, the band around singer / guitarist / bassist Frode Glesnes and drummer / keyboarder Gerhard Storesund adds more modern, mass-appealing facets while staying true to their roots.

The album marks the band’s return to Napalm Records after 25 years, and the release of their legendary Dragons Of The North album (1996), which will be re-released as a re-mastered version on February 26 as well. The Norwegian metal outfit remains musically true to themselves and reinforces their exceptional position.

Stomping drums and gloomy guitar chords paired with ice-cold vocals guide the way to the first single taken off North Star - "Stars" draws the listener into the icy, dark world of EINHERJER!

EINHERJER on “Stars”:

“’Stars’ have many meanings. The night sky is vast and can be overwhelming. Throughout history man has turned to the stars to find answers to all kinds of questions. BRIAN WHEAT TELLS HIS SIDE OF THE STORY IN NEW BOOK, ‘SON OF A MILKMAN: MY CRAZY LIFE WITH TESLA’ AND ANNOUNCES LIVE SIGNING EVENT FOR THIS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 9TH

Image 12-7-20 at 7.37 PM.JPG

Tesla bassist Brian Wheat lifts the lid on living the rock ’n’ roll life while struggling with anxiety, depression, and other issues seldom discussed by musicians in his new book, ‘Son of a Milkman: My Crazy Life with Tesla,’ which will be released on December 15, 2020 via Post Hill Press (and co-penned by Chris Epting).

And before its official release, there will be a live signing event on December 9th, with additional info here:

https://livesigning.com/milkman

Far from your typical rock star, as bassist for the multi-platinum band, Tesla, Brian has enjoyed the spoils of success and lived the sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll lifestyle to the hilt. But it came at a cost, one that took years to repair.

In this deeply honest and utterly revealing memoir, Wheat sheds light on the many challenges he faces, including bulimia, weight issues, and the crippling anxiety and depression caused by his conditions. Just like the songs his legendary band made, this is no-nonsense, blue-collar storytelling at its best.

While revealing the vulnerable human behind the bass guitar, this autobiography also offers tremendous stories of life on the road, and collaborations and encounters with legendary figures like his pals in Def Leppard, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, and Paul McCartney.

Brian is best known as the bass guitarist of the platinum-selling band, Tesla, which he cofounded in 1982. Tesla became one of the biggest bands of the late 1980s–1990s. Brian owns a recording studio by the name of J Street Recorders in Sacramento, California. Papa Roach, Tesla, Pat Travers, Deftones, Kodiak Jack, Flashfires, and many others have recorded there.

Chris Epting is an award-winning journalist and the author of many books, including ‘Adrenalized’ (co-written with Def Leppard’s Phil Collen) and ‘Change of Seasons’ (co-written with John Oates).

Featuring a foreword by Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and an afterword by renowned rock photographer Ross Halfin, ‘Son of a Milkman’ will entertain, surprise, and inspire longtime fans of this enduring band.

Legendary Hip Hop Pioneer DMC (RUN-D.M.C) Featured on New Society 1 Track / Video, "The Man"

Lyrics: DMCMusic: Society 1 Drums: Zac MorrisProduced by Matt ZaneVideo: Scott Kennedy Engineer: Patrick Burkholder Mastering: Mike WellsInstagram: @kingdmcT...

Legendary Hip Hop Pioneer DMC (RUN-D.M.C) has been featured on a new Society 1 track / video entitled "The Man," the second collaboration for the band and music icon. With instrumentation written and performed by lead vocalist MATT ZANE and guest drumming by ZAC MORRIS (Ugly Kid Joe,Hed PEDorothySeptember Mourning) "The Man" appears an unlikely collaboration due to Zane not being known publicly for his songwriting or guitar playing but, unknown to most, he is actually a graduate of MIT for guitar.

Since then Zane has written and licensed multiple songs for various
outlets but took a substantial break the last few years to focus on
his directing career. DMC and Zane met when the late Wayne Static
introduced them, believing Zane would be a good fit for directing the
music video and track "Noise Revolution," which Wayne sang on. After
directing the video, Zane was inspired by the collaboration but was
overwhelmed with music video work which forced his musical aspirations
to be neglected for years to come. After a conscious shift to re-focus
on Zane's band Society 1 he specifically had DMC in mind for a
feature.

"Collaborating with DMC was an absolute dream come true. Before I knew
about The Doors or Jimi Hendrix, RUN-DMC were my gods. My very first guitar lesson I showed up with a copy of 'Raising Hell' because my
teacher asked me to bring in music of my favorite artists...I swear to
you I almost cried when I heard his iconic voice over my music and
playing for the first time. It was a religious experience. I put it at
the same level as when I performed at The Download Festival suspended
with my band Society 1 in front of 80,000 people." - Matt Zane

"Lord Zane creates music that is insane! Powerful, energetic, fun, and
captivating. He gave me that HARD hitting riff ROCKING sound that
takes the King Of Rock to the next level! The beat and the guitars for
the collaboration we did grabbed me in a headlock! The sound,
arrangements and vibe is a force to be reckoned with! He has allowed
me to continue to live my Rock N Roll dream. He’s “ the man” that’s
why I called this song The Man...lol...the music dictated the title
and vibe! This track definitely absolutely and completely ROCKS and
Rolls!!! So move out the way!" - DMC

Forged deep in the Piney Woods of South Mississippi, Royal Horses embodies the very best of what the region has to offer.

Featuring lyric-driven melodies that pay respect to the musical genres that helped shape the New South, including 70's rock, early blues, rockabilly, and folk, Royal Horses has managed to create a name for themselves the old-fashioned way – one high-energy performance at a time. The trio often bends genre norms while blazing a new path for themselves in modern music. The result is a gritty, yet powerfully-unique sound built on the strength of an undeniable musical chemistry.

CLOUD CITY EP OUT NOW

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — released the Cloud City EP via Spinefarm Records on December 4.

The band has just dropped the video for the new track "Massive." Watch it HERE.

"The 'Massive' music video is perfect for what the song is actually trying to say," says Varela. "It's us in a dark room, performing, loving what we do, and having fun as it's always been. Just us."

Varela previously shared the song's inspiration, saying, "'Massive' is literally all of my frustrations coming to the surface. It's years of doing favors and helping other's elevate their careers — only to be told I'm just a copy of 'insert whatever vocalist here' or to be called a background player. Not this time. I remember writing 'Massive,' and the only thought in my head was, 'They don’t take you seriously — but they'll wish they did.'"

The song is currently the most played track at SiriusXM's Octane for the second week in a row.

VRSTY's music unexpectedly blends metallic grooves and R&B vocal swagger. The band has been grinding in the scene for over five years now, releasing the Lights EP in 2015 and heading on tour to earn their road stripes. They dropped Blck and Blck Deluxe in 2019, with "YOU & I" (over 412k Spotify streams), "Colorblind" (over 310k Spotify streams), and "Nola" (over 278k Spotify streams) quickly establishing themselves as indie fan favorites. The band has tallied over 2 million total streams and looks to open things up even more with the Cloud City EP, which serves as its Spinefarm Records debut.

AUSTIN MEADE RELEASES "DEJA VU" —

Image 12-7-20 at 7.07 PM (1).JPG

NEW ALBUM BLACK SHEEP ARRIVES FEBRUARY 19, 2021

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Austin Meade, who sprung up from the Red Dirt music scene, has dropped the new song "Déjà vu." Listen HERE.

"Every day feels the same when sitting still," Meade shares. "Falling in line and being told what to do gets boring — as soon as I realize what's happening. There's usually a few peaceful moments on co-pilot mode before freaking out and changing the routine. I thought I might escape that by traveling and playing music. But it turns out that you do the same routine, just in new places. Whether it's Sunday afternoon getting prepared for the work week, Sunday afternoon getting ready for school, Sunday afternoon enjoying your church luncheon, or Sunday afternoon hungover on a 12-hour van ride...it all feels the same after a while."

The song lives on Meade's Snakefarm Records' debut Black Sheep, which arrives on February 19, 2021. The album is available for pre-order HERE.

ABOUT AUSTIN MEADE:

Austin Meade's songs and stories are contradictory yet cohesive. On his Snakefarm Records debut, Black Sheep, his influences — musical and otherwise — are as varied and rich as the small-town Texas soil that nurtured his talent and yielded these 12 stellar songs ranging from multi-layered musicality and storytelling to dark alt-pop to new age and Sabbath-inspired. Thanks to his metal-and classic-rock loving dad, Meade got to see bands like Judas Priest and worshipped Whitesnake at a young age. In junior high, he related to the intense emo-rock of Paramore and Fall Out Boy, as well as the power of songwriters like John Mayer. Yet, thanks to plainspoken but deep heartland songwriters like Tom Petty, and cutting his teeth touring in the Texas and Oklahoma Red Dirt scene, Meade’s music overflows with wide-open soulfulness. He was a drummer for years, even teaching to pay the bill. Meade eventually found his true voice when he began playing guitar as a teen in his pastor father’s church. Those experiences lend both a gravitas and rebelliousness to Meade's songs and self.

TOWNSHIP Release Lost Studio Album from 2009 'Life Starts Tonight'

Image 12-4-20 at 5.11 PM.JPG

Boston-based classic rock revivalists TOWNSHIP have set out to do right by their fans and finally provide a missing piece in the band's enduring history. Originally recorded in the fall of 2009, the band has now released what many call their "lost" album, titled 'Life Starts Tonight'. The new album is available now on the major streaming/digital platforms via the link found here. 'Life Starts Tonight' was the final studio record to feature original drummer and founding member Greg Beadle, as well as guitarist Matt Smart.

TOWNSHIP - Life Starts Tonight (digital/streaming): https://orcd.co/township-life

TOWNSHIP Lineup (Life Starts Tonight):

Marc Pinansky - Vocals, Guitar

Matt Smart - Guitar, Backing Vocals

John Sheeran - Bass, Backing Vocals

Greg Beadle - Drums

About TOWNSHIP's 'Life Starts Tonight':

This lost album, recorded in early September 2009, is the last to feature original drummer and founding member Greg Beadle, as well as guitarist Matty Smart. Though the writing came from Marc and John, Greg had a firm hand in the arrangement, tone, and overall approach to the album: big rock, tracked live, minimal overdubs, no ballads, no harmonies, and no acoustic guitars (if possible). Greg and Chris McLaughlin (Engineer/Co-Producer) worked tirelessly to get big, live, unique drum sounds to match the power and immediacy of the songs. When paired with John’s EB-0 through his trusty Acoustic 140, stereo Les Pauls, and high-octane, dynamic vocals, the record busts out of the speakers like the Kool-Aid man. However, it was left shelved for over a decade.

At the time of its recording, the band’s new management team favored a “Best Of” record instead, packaging the band’s already sizable catalog into a single-serving dose. With touring and promotion in place to bring Township farther across the US than ever before, resources were shifted to Vol. 1, leaving a nearly complete 'Life Starts Tonight'languishing in uncertainty. With Alejandro replacing Matt later that fall, the band spent the next year-and-a-half touring Life Starts Tonight, an album that no one could buy. The more Al became an integral member of the band, the further the album drifted into the past as the band looked toward the future.

By late 2010, having parted ways with Greg and written much of what would become One More Summer, 'Life Starts Tonight' went on hold indefinitely. But the fans never forgot about this unreleased album. As the songs, some of the band’s strongest, became live favorites, interest in the album increasingly took on a cult-like mystery. Now, finally available after all these years, the album still sounds fresh, alive, and a perfect snapshot of that volatile yet special line-up before Township began its transition to Phase Two.

LISTEN: The Angel Of History

December 4, 2020 - The New York-based progressive death metal group, Cryptodira, released their sophomore full-length The Angel Of History, via Good Fight Music. Cryptodira’s intricate new effort finds the band pushing their boundaries even further without losing any of the focus on the songwriting that they’ve established themselves with, creating one of the most dynamic and exciting heavy releases of the year. To celebrate, the band is hosting a release day livestream at 7pm EST that includes a Society(1989) watch party, energy drink testing, and a discussion of the album at: twitch.tv/CryptodiraBand

Speaking on the release Scott Acquavella (guitar / vocals) says, "In the midst of such a uniquely stressful time, we're especially grateful for the opportunity to put The Angel of History in your hands. It was crafted through chaos, personal loss, and growth, and that heavy spectrum of emotions is well represented throughout the album. We were driven by excitement and curiosity while writing it and we've never explored such a wide variety of sonic territory before, so we truly hope these songs resonate with you the way they do with us."

Right off the heels of their new EP Better Left Unsaid, the band is preparing their sophomore album, The Angel Of History, which acts as the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2017 debut, The Devil's Despair. Everything Is Noise stated about the new LP that, “The Angel of History continues to be interesting regardless of how many times you’ve listened”. Produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Vatican) and Cryptodira, The Angel Of History is available for buy and stream here.

SUZI QUATRO Releases New Christmas Single and Heartwarming Video!

New Christmas Single - available on all digital platforms from today onwards!https://SuziQuatro.lnk.to/MyHeartAndSoul Video produced by Thomas Davis for http...

Even in the highly adrenaline-fueled music business, it`s rare to find a bundle of energy and talent on a par with Suzi Quatro. The American rock vocalist and musician has been successful for over 56 years and continues to tour the world. She released her critically acclaimed current album "No Control" in 2019. With hits like ‘Can The Can’, ‘48 Crash‘, ‘Devil Gate Drive‘, ‘If You Can`t Give Me Love‘ or ‘She`s In Love With You‘, she became an icon in the seventies, and remains so to this day.

But this year everything is different!

Suzi Quatro: “So, lockdown had just begun. My son was in the studio working on ideas every day for our next album, a perfect opportunity as neither of us was ‘on the road’. I was sitting on the patio, relaxing, and heard this absolutely beautiful track coming out of the open studio door. It was a bass line, with a sparse guitar chord, and drums. It was immediate for me. I ran into the studio (mask on of course), and told my son to set up a microphone, and without thinking, without writing anything down, I sang the first 4 lines of the song exactly as they ended up. That`s when you know you have a great song ... and we do. Merry Xmas everyone!“

The song is available on all digital platforms from today onwards: https://SuziQuatro.lnk.to/MyHeartAndSoul

GWAR Teams Up With Catoctin Creek For “Ragnarök Rye™”

Image 12-4-20 at 4.53 PM.JPG

Eons ago the members of the intergalactic shock rock band known as GWAR descended on this world as passengers on a flaming comet that would bring about the destruction of most life on Earth. The asteroid plowed into the continent of Antarctica with devastating force, melting the ice, setting much of the world ablaze, and leaving a massive crater filled with the purest Antarctic water and a strangely intoxicating ichor that flowed from the veins of the immortal GWAR. Legend recorded these events as the tale of Ragnarök, the end of days. But like all endings, it was also a beginning. Now, this blood of the gods, harvested from the great caldera, has been distilled and bottled by Catoctin Creek Distilling Company as Ragnarök Rye.

The mad scientists at Catoctin Creek conducted experiments on aging the blood of GWAR in barrels made from the different types of wood scorched by the comet's blast. They used the rarest of grains and watered their mash bill with the melted Antarctic ice to create a single 92 proof rye whisky, potstilled and then aged in charred new White Oak. Members of GWAR then hurl the whisky barrels into the orbit of the Moon, causing contraction to take place as the barrels spin under the influence of the deathly coldness of space and the life-giving heat of the sun. The end result is Ragnarök Rye, an exquisite beverage graced with notes of cherrywood and sugar maple to produce subtle flavors unheard of in a traditional rye whisky. Truly, there is nothing else in the vast universe like the rock band GWAR, and in tribute to the band's originality as the most elaborate, and transgressive theatrical production in heavy metal history, the distillers at Catoctin Creek have made sure there is nothing else like Ragnarök Rye.

“Ahh, such a powerful spirit. A delicious sacrament to drink in preparation for battle, and it’ll get you really, really crazy,” says The Berserker Blothar.

“We were quite surprised when GWAR showed up at our distillery,” said the exasperated founder and general manager, Scott Harris. “Purcellville is a quiet town, so to have these intergalactic visitors was—honestly—a little stressful. We had to constantly keep an eye on them to keep them from breaking stuff, and they even tried to eat our dog, Otto. The only way we could get them to leave was to agree to bottle their whisky for them.”

Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. X Rye Whisky (92 Proof/46% ABV) $99/750mL

About Catoctin Creek Distilling:

Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, The Virginia Rye Whisky ℠, was founded by Scott and Becky Harris in 2009. Inspired by the history and craft of Virginia, Catoctin Creek made a name for itself as the first legal distillery since Prohibition in Purcellville, Virginia’s Loudoun County. The craft distillery is home to Virginia’s most-awarded whisky, Roundstone Rye, which has been presented gold medals across the globe and stands out through its old-world production methods. Catoctin Creek prides itself on sourcing rye whisky, gin, and seasonal brandy from local grains and fruits, with spirits available in 27 states and 3 continents. The Harris’ intricate attention to detail results in high quality internationally acclaimed products, including seasonal releases and private cask offerings, that recognize the true craft of Virginia spirits. About GWAR:

The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this barren and hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world. Their story begins in the deepest reaches of outer space. Long ago, the beings who would become the rock band GWAR were part of an elite fighting force, the Scumdogs of the Universe. For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic screw-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool’s errand to conquer planet Earth. Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all human history. For more information, visit GWAR.net.
