RAVEN are that rare thing in music,  true originals – cut these guys with a razor and they will BLEED true heavy metal – a more intense live band does not exist on this planet!

Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England back in 1974 (yes – 46 YEARS ago!!!) the brothers Gallagher cut their teeth playing the pubs & clubs until solidifying their line up in 1980 with drummer Rob Hunter.

The trio went on to release three of the most influential metal albums of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) inspiring every band of that era and beyond.  Basically,  without Raven you just would not have thrash/speed metal…. after all, the band did give Metallica & Anthrax their first tours!

Following a tumultuous move to the USA, deals with Atlantic Records, indentured servitude and commercialism,  Rob left the band in 1987 to be replaced by drummer extraordinaire Joe Hasselvander, who had made his name in cult doom band Pentagram, Savoy Brown and his own solo projects, adding a new dimension to the band.

In 2001,  guitarist Mark Gallagher was involved in a near fatal accident – but fought his way back from the brink and the band proved they were stronger than ever!  This renewed spirit and attitude was reflected in the title of their 2010 album “WALK THROUGH FIRE” and in the career overview DVD “ROCK UNTIL YOU DROP”.

2014 found the band opening for METALLICA (the band that RAVEN took on their first tour back in 1983) in Sao Paulo in front of 70,000 fans, and completing their finest album to date – ExtermiNation” which was released to universal acclaim from fans & critics alike in 2015!

After a serious heart attack in May 2017 Joe Hasselvander had to unfortunately bow out from the band.

While filling in on a number of shows, drumming phenomenon Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Malignancy) joined forces with the brothers Gallagher to lay waste to stages throughout the latter half of 2017…The chemistry between the three was undeniable – the addition of his prodigious technique & musicality instantly took the band up to a new level.

Following an insane 3 year blur of world touring the next RAVEN opus, “METAL CITY” was released into a pandemic scourged marketplace in September 2020, garnering both critical & popular acclaim as a game changing release for the band songs like “ Top of the mountain “ and the title track highlighted the deadly combination of the bands increasingly iconic songwriting along with Mike Heller’s nuclear propelled percussion excursions.

During the next few years the band delivered the metal goods across the globe .. themed tours covering their “WIPED OUT” and “ ALL FOR ONE” albums were a big success… the band were called on by old tour mates Metallica to help celebrate the life & legacy of Jon & Marsha Zazula (who managed both bands back in the early 80’s) at a tribute concert at the Hard Rock in Ft Lauderdale FL in November 2022.

Following a change of record label from SPV to Silver Lining in 2023; the band released their most searing album yet, the aptly titled “ ALL HELL’S BREAKING LOOSE” receiving universal acclaim from critics and fans alike. The following tour rolled into 2024, celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary as they toured across the globe from the UK to Europe, North America to South America, Singapore, Australia and Japan!

2025 saw the release of the 8 song EP “ CAN’T TAKE AWAY THE FIRE” raising the bar on metal mayhem one more time as a gift to the fans while the band work on preparing their next magnum opus!

Following the release of “Dreamstate of Hell,” which opened the door to a darker and more focused new era, "Jericho" pushes her self-defined "DOOM TRAP" sound even further, colliding alternative metal, industrial weight and modern rock with heavy guitars, dynamic vocals, and a huge, hook-led chorus.

At its core, the track is about inner collapse, transformation and the breaking apart of everything false to make space for something new. The video was filmed in Bordeaux and in the heart of Paris by underground director NineNine99 and Phenix Agency, whose work includes visuals tied to Ho99o9, Boys Noize, Kalash and Gambi.

Punk Duo THE MEFFS Reveal New Single "Disorder (Wake Up)" + Official Video

Today, Essex-based punk duo THE MEFFS has unveiled their searing new single, “Disorder (Wake Up),” the second glimpse of their second album ‘Business,’ out on September 11th via FLG. 

The band comments on the new track:

"We should be angry that we live in a world where people need to seek asylum, not angry at the people seeking asylum. The establishment want to cause division, they want us to argue between ourselves, because it takes eyes off of them. People are fighting for their rights and their lives, they're being displaced, and it's fu*king tragic, yet the narrative is that it's those people's fault that you can't get a job or afford fuel. Wake up. We're not the enemy, and nor are you."

Despite a whirlwind 2025, which included supports with The Sex Pistols, The Undertones, selling out headline shows across the UK and Europe, Glastonbury, 2000trees, and Download Festival, Lily (guitar and vocals) and Lewis (drums) somehow managed to find the time to write and record 11 tracks of their most politically charged, hard-hitting music to date.

With producer Dan Weller at the helm, 'Business' is a modern punk classic. Fan favourites like "So Modern (Keep Up)" are captured with all the energy and scuzziness from the band's live show, and title track "Business" goes hard, taking aim at the challenges found within today's music industry.

There is no shortage of fast-paced moments; "Love To Lose" is the ideal hype song, while "Fight" crams minutes of energy into one thirty-second burst. Other highlights include "Disorder (Wake Up)" - a commentary on the world as we know it; or "Like Gravity," a journey of self-deprecation. On 'Business,' THE MEFFS prove they are not a band to be pigeonholed.

Since exploding onto the UK scene, THE MEFFS have built up a reputation as purveyors of frantic punk rock and an absolute must-see live sensation. ADHD MAKES DEBUT AT STAGECOACH’S “DIPLO’S HONKYTONK STAGE”

Sunday marked the conclusion of Stagecoach and the third consecutive weekend of festivals in Indio. Despite the long run of events, the standing-room-only crowd at “Diplo’s Honkytonk Stage” was a testament to the broad appeal of new DJ duo, ADHD. The hour-long performance that kicked-off with their own mix of “Thinkin’ Bout Me” highlighted the unique sensibilities of Nashville-based songwriters Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure, imparting a sense that their hit-filled set could have easily fit any night of the festival circuit.
 
For the two hitmakers who’ve charted new territory sonically their entire careers, this DJing duo is a way to get back to their roots while revisiting and reimagining mixes across their vast songwriting catalogs.
 
“That might have been the most fun I’ve ever had in 25 years in the music business,” Frasure shares, still on a high from Sunday’s debut. “Super grateful to be able to take our concept of a DJ set predominantly filled with hits we’ve written and debut it for the perfect EDM and Country loving crowd in Diplo’s Honkytonk at Stagecoach.
 
“I think the crowd appreciated hearing original remixes of songs they loved from the songwriters themselves because we saw an overflowing tent dancing to a DJ duo they’ve never heard of,” Frasure continues. “Big thanks to The Neal Agency and Golden Voice for taking a chance on our vision. We can’t wait for the next one!”
 
“Our love for music each began with DJing, so it’s a full circle moment to be able to remix and play the crowd new versions of the hits we’ve written,” Gorley reflects. “It’s been fun to shake things up, to challenge and fuel our creativity in a new way outside of the writing room. The energy in the tent was incredible and we had a blast. Thank you to all the fans who showed up!”
 
ADHD was born in 2018 when Gorley and Frasure were on the road together for Thomas Rhett’s Life Changes Tour and DJed before the country singer went on stage. They went on to perform at parties and open for artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and other country tours, before officially signing with The Neal Agency for representation.
 
As individual composers, Gorley and Frasure have been recognized by the Recording Academy with multiple nominations and have won ACM, CMA, ASCAP and BMI awards. Gorley was recently inducted into the National Songwriters Hall of Fame. Follow along online at @adhd_officialDJs.

LAINEY WILSON HEADLINES STAGECOACH

6x ACM, 12x CMA and Grammy Award-winner Lainey Wilson headlined Stagecoach this past weekend with an electric set featuring special guests Little Big Town and Riley Green. Of the performance, Billboard praised, “Wilson gave off true headliner energy…[her] vocals were strong and commanding, while her effervescent charisma was on full display,” while the Los Angeles Times called it “a tight, punchy showcase of the riff-heavy country-rock that’s made her one of Nashville’s biggest stars.”

Wailin Storms Announce New Album 'The Arsonist'

With their bluesy riffs, swampy rhythms and haunting vocals, Wailin Storms are one of the hottest bands in Southern gothic rock. The Durham, North Carolinians have received high praise from NPR, The Needle Drop, Brooklyn Vegan, Decibel and Metal Hammer. Thunderous applause has greeted them on both sides of The Atlantic during shows and tour dates with everyone from City of Caterpillar and This Will Destroy You to Acid Bath and Eyehategod. Now, with their upcoming fifth album,The Arsonist, the band are fanning their flames with reckless abandon.   

Today, Wailin Storms are announcing The Arsonist with a music video for the album’s simmering title track. While slowly engulfed in flames, amidst their new single’s fiery throes of passion, the band howl like the hounds of hell.

Amidst the wreckage of The Arsonist, Wailin Storms do find a semblance of peace. “It’s All Dark Now Where Your Eyes Used to Be” ends the album with a ghostly flicker of gothic romance. “I know a place where we can sit and grow old”, Storms offers with grim assurance. A piano tolls like death’s bell as he glimpses up at a church that resembles a skull. “There’s a sliver of hope in coming to terms with death”, he concludes. “Life is temporary and that's where its beauty lies”.

Marking her first release since the 2024 album ENN, 'Healer' arrives after an extended period of international touring, where Eivør has performed across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, steadily deepening her connection with a global audience.

Set within a dark, atmospheric sound world, 'Healer' blends a distorted piano-led bass line with cinematic strings and ambient textures. Driven by a steady, pulsing rhythm and carried by Eivør’s raw, expressive vocals, the track moves between fragility and release, like letting go in a storm while still carrying everything you’ve been through.

At its core, the song is a reflection on self-worth and resilience. It captures the tension between falling and finding your footing again, holding space for both doubt and quiet strength.

Eivør explains:
“‘Healer’ is a conversation with my younger self - the one who once doubted everything and didn’t feel like she was enough. It lives in the space of falling and finding your footing. The song holds onto the idea that even in those moments, something stronger is quietly building.”

The accompanying video, directed by Faroese filmmaker Katrin Joensen-Næs, extends the emotional world of the song through a stark and symbolic visual language. Shot entirely in black and white, the film unfolds around two mirrored figures, exploring themes of identity, transformation and inner dialogue. All production design and costumes are created within this monochrome palette, reinforcing a visual language that reflects an inner emotional landscape. The video is inspired by the idea that time heals all wounds.

Following a period of near-continuous touring, 'Healer' signals a shift towards a more direct and emotionally immediate form of songwriting, while retaining the depth and physical intensity that define her work. 

Eivør continues: “I poured my heart into this song. I hope it meets you where you are, and maybe offers you a sense of strength and healing.”

Eivør is one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from the Nordic music scene, an artist whose work bridges ancient tradition and contemporary sound. Raised in the Faroe Islands, her music is deeply shaped by the stark landscapes and communal singing culture of her homeland, where music is both ritual and everyday expression.

CAGE FIGHT Releases New Single "Oxygen" + New Video

UK metal band, CAGE FIGHT – fronted by vocal powerhouse Rachel Aspe – have released a new single/video, "Oxygen."

Rachel Aspe explains,

“When your worries occupy all the space in your head, you’re navigating

through fog; every task, every move, feels like a challenge. 'Oxygen' is about a fight against time, when everything becomes overwhelming and suffocating.”

About the video, Aspe adds:

“The mask on the album cover is the radiotherapy mask my grandmother wore every day for her cancer treatment. It was moulded to her, and I'm now wearing it as she lives through me. The process was painful and exhausting. This is a symbol of strength, perseverance, and healing. It represents a cage you fight in, until you shed your skin

and are reborn. The mask also has specific meanings for each song on the album.

"In 'Oxygen', we wanted to portray the feelings of fear, oppression, and anxiety. To be locked in this cage, pushed down by its weight. The mask here is our own mind, and overwhelming thoughts, while seeing time passing by and being powerless.”

CAGE FIGHT will release their second studio album, ‘Exuvia,’ on May 1st via Spinefarm.  

Recorded by Sam Bloor at Lower Lane Studios and mixed by Jim Pinder (Sleep Token, Malevolence), ‘Exuvia’ retains the raw, old school hardcore heart of CAGE FIGHT – vibrating with meaty grooves, pummelling rhythms, plus a wave of furious anger that feels like a punch to the gut. At the same time, it also explores more multi-layered terrains, atmospheres, and melodies, making CAGE FIGHT sound bigger, tighter, and more epic than ever before.

Throughout the 11 pieces of music, the band proves they aren’t afraid to experiment… and have a bit of fun. A case in point is "Pick Your Fighter," which features Julien Truchan from Benighted on guest vocals, and was inspired by a French pop song – "Et c'est parti…" by Nâdiya – though you’d never guess it from the song’s crushing heaviness.

The rest of the lyrics on ‘Exuvia’ are written by Rachel – the first time she has expressed herself in this way, and the results are deeply personal, taking in anxiety, assault, and having to deal with grief. The expansive final track, "Élégie," is about losing her grandfather, and the regret that can come from things left unsaid.

On "Pig," meanwhile, she calls out the creepy men who send women unsolicited messages online, while the title track was inspired by her grandmother, who is currently battling cancer, and helped Rachel write the song's lyrics.

BOOZEWA Announce First West Coast Tour This July

Pennsylvania noise and grunge trio BOOZEWA will make their long awaited West Coast debut this July, bringing their loud, heavy, and unmistakably strange sound across California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Utah.

Formed in 2020, BOOZEWA features Jessica Baker on bass and vocals, Rylan Caspar on guitar and vocals, and mRc on drums. The trio draws from a sonic lineage that includes KARP, MELVINS, SONIC YOUTH, and SWANS, delivering a sound that is both punishing and unpredictable. The band includes former members of BACKWOODS PAYBACK and a current member of ALL ELSE FAILED.

Operating fully DIY through their own DeepRest Records imprint, BOOZEWA has released five records, singles, and EPs. Their latest release, a split with NOWHERE, is available now on 12 inch vinyl. The band has also worked in the studio with TAD DOYLE of TAD.

FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL: Announces Line-Up Changes and New Additions

FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL regretfully announces some necessary changes to the Frontiers Rock Festival 2026 bill, and shares the confirmed set times for the event, set to take place on May 1, 2, and 3, 2026, at the Live Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan), Italy.

Unfortunately, Frontline, Robin Beck, and House Of Lords will no longer be able to perform at this year’s edition of the Festival. These cancellations are due to serious and unexpected health issues affecting members of the artists involved.

While we are saddened that these performances can no longer take place, the health and well-being of the artists must take absolute priority. We extend our full support and best wishes to all those affected.

Frontiers Rock Festival is pleased to confirm that Russ Ballard, Dan Byrne, and Smoking Snakes will join the line-up and perform at the festival.

Joan As Police Woman ignites 'Eternal Flame' ahead of 'Real Life Evolution' album

Iconic NYC artist Joan As Police Woman presents her new rendition of 'Eternal Flame', the latest offering from her new “Real Life Evolution' album. Comprised of new arrangements of the songs from the original 'Real Life' album, this record will be released on CD, Limited Edition exclusive red marble vinyl and digitally on June 12 via UK independent Reveal Records .
 
Exactly 20 years since releasing her debut album "Real Life", Joan has reimagined and re-recorded the album in full with guests, including Iggy Pop and Krystle Warren. Twenty years in the making, this record was developed through countless nights on stage, these new arrangements brought to life by the musical brilliance of the players who helped define their sound. Contributors include Will Graefe, Jeremy Gustin, Tony Scherr, Parker Kindred, Danny Blume, Oren Bloedow and Thomas Bartlett.

Joan Wasser, known professionally as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres. She has released ten albums of original material, two cover albums, and an anthology.

Several weeks ago, Joan released Real Life Evolution versions of 'Flushed Chest' and 'The Ride', following the video for 'Anyone'. Accompanied by Will Graefe and Jeremy Gustin, she now unveils the fourth video in the 'The Real Life Anniversary Sessions', recorded at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn by Adam Sachs and filmed by Ehud Lazin. The album version was recorded at Hayyam Studios in Istanbul by Ceylan Akcar and Sinan Sakizli.

Joan explains, “This arrangement grew from a beat Parker Kindred developed nearly a decade ago. It found its current form when Will Graefe crafted a beautiful acoustic guitar part, and the three of us — Will, Jeremy Gustin, and I — played it together every night on tour. I originally wrote it as a gospel song about the impossibility of being someone’s “everything.” Over time, it’s taken on a new meaning too: a reminder not to demand that of myself.”

Joan As Police Woman is a sought-after collaborator who has recorded and/ or performed with hundreds of artists, including Afrobeat legend Tony Allen, Lou Reed, Anohni & The Johnsons, Meshell Ndegeocello, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, David Byrne, Dave Okumu, Chris Dowd, Lau, Scissor Sisters, Sparklehorse, Beck, Laurie Anderson, Lloyd Cole, Afel Bocoum, Dave Gahan, Tanya Donelly, David Sylvian, Steve Jansen and Damon Albarn (who duetted with Joan on her song 'Get My Bearings' and invited her to feature on the Gorillaz album 'Song Machine'). Multi-time Diamond-certified superstar Darius Rucker returns to the historic Ryman Auditorium on Monday, June 1 for his 17th annual “Darius and Friends” concert benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Milwaukee Metal Fest 2026 Announces Special Guest of Honor + Sale Extended

Milwaukee Metal Fest is pleased to announce that famed metal drummer and radio personality Richard Christy will be the guest of honor. He will appear for fan experiences and will also be performing.

Festival owner Jamey Jasta said, "Richard is one of the funniest, most beloved, and most talented people in all of heavy music and radio and he's on OG MMF alum so it's incredible that he will be attending and we couldn't be more thrilled!"

The festival will once again return to The Rave/Eagles Club from June 5-7, 2026, with the pre- party kicking off on June 4!

Philip Labonte of All That Remains' 2024 Op-Ed Gains Momentum as Federal Legislation Emerges

Philip Labonte, founder and lead singer of All That Remains, is drawing attention to his 2024 op-ed, "The Silent Crisis: Why Society is Failing Men and Boys," as new legislation introduced by Reps. Nathanial Moran (TX-1) and Derrick Van Orden (WI-3) reflects growing concern around the challenges facing men and boys in America. The op-ed was followed by multiple meetings on Capitol Hill to discuss how Congress can support boys and men across the country.

In the op-ed, Labonte highlighted rising male disengagement from education, work, and community, alongside increasing rates of depression, addiction, and suicide. His perspective is shaped by decades of direct interaction with fans, many of whom have shared personal struggles with isolation and lack of purpose.

"We are watching too many young men drift without direction or support," said Labonte. "If we don't take this seriously, we risk losing an entire generation not just of men, but of fathers and leaders."

Recent data underscores these concerns. According to the Pew Research Center, men now make up just 44% of college students, while the National Institute of Mental Health reports significantly higher suicide rates among men.

While the newly introduced legislation marks an important step in elevating these issues, Labonte is calling for broader awareness and action.

"This is a societal issue that requires real attention and real solutions," he added. "Acknowledging the problem is just the beginning."

Nonpoint are back with their hard-hitting new single “Is It,” available everywhere May 8th on all major digital streaming platforms. “Is It” serves as the first release from Nonpoint’s upcoming full-length album The Last Word, arriving in late summer 2026. Both the band and 361 Degrees Records are positioning this track as the opening statement of a new era, setting the tone for the album's themes and energy of the new record. Rather than following a traditional rollout, the song will debut on April 24, 2026, exclusively via the band’s official YouTube channel. The release will take the form of a hand-drawn, animated lyric video, offering a unique visual experience that complements the song’s message and listening experience while giving fans an early, immersive look into the creative world of The Last Word.

Elias explains the bold concept behind his design imagery on the cover. 

"This album cover tells a piece of our story. After years of making music, we feel more aligned than ever—musically, visually, and creatively. We’re writing some of the strongest material of our career, our live shows are as powerful as they’ve ever been, and the band feels focused and energized. Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats Unveil Video for New Single "Don't Let It Control You"

Cult rock group Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats are back in the ditch with their new single "Don't Let It Control You" via Killer Candy Records.

A blood-soaked taster from their forthcoming studio album, "Don't Let It Control You" sees the band rip through 03:45 of psycho rock at chainsaw speed. Combining Fuzzrite guitars with driving Stooges piano, out-of-tune harmonies, and Shadow Morton backing vocals, this earworm will be sure to rot in your brain allsummer.

Pre-orders for the single, the bands first 7" release since Pusher Man in 2016, will begin today at this location. To accompany, the band teamed up with low budget B movie specialists, Tinnitus Productions, to produce an exclusive Super 8 music video.

Blacktoothed Return With New Single "Monsters"
