Visionary, sci-fi-inspired rock collective STARSET have shared the video for their latest transmission "TOKSIK."

The song addresses the toxicity that has become omnipresent in the online space, where so many people spend far too much time these days. The track considers the effects of the virtual world 's toxicity — especially when it spills over into the real world.

STARSET previously announced the second leg of their "IMMERSION: THE FINAL CHAPTER" tour, set for late summer and early fall 2024. The tour is an "Evening With Starset" and kicks off August 31 in the band's native Columbus, Ohio and runs through September 25 in Indianapolis. It also includes an appearance at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville. This trek follows the Spring 2024 leg. The tour was almost 100% sold out across 20 dates. Known for their groundbreaking and immersive live shows the tour is framed by a dystopian futuristic narrative. Bodysnatcher Unleash New EP 'Vile Conduct' + Drop "Say Goodbye" Music Video via MNRK Heavy

Floridian heavy hitters Bodysnatcher have released their new EP 'Vile Conduct' and the official music video for "Say Goodbye" (via MNRK Heavy). Leading up to today, the quartet has shared "Murder8" featuring the inimitable Jamey Jasta, "Severed", "Human Disdain", and most recently, "Infested". Altogether, the tracks have amassed a staggering 1.7 million streams on Spotify alone and 582k views and counting on YouTube. Speaking about the EP, the band commented:

"'Vile Conduct' to us is a culmination of all of the different struggles people in general can be subject to, or can inflict on others. Whether it be personal struggles, loss, hatred toward humanity, etc. These are all human-specific. Drawing their name from the infamous Plainfield Ghoul, Ed Gein, Bodysnatcher know a thing or two about darkness, brutality and aggression. Since their 2014 inception in Melbourne, Florida, Bodysnatcher have been bringing nothing but the finest in furious, extreme music. Combining crushing breakdowns with eerie ambience, scathing riffs and grisly grooves, the band have become synonymous with “heavy,” invoking violence in every city they happen to visit, spawning mosh pits that leave nothing but craters in their wake.

The band’s debut full-length that followed, Death of Me (Stay Sick Records), saw the band mature from their modest downtempo roots into something more diverse and devastating, incorporating a blend of contemporary metal and hardcore elements to create something that saw Bodysnatcher start to blur conventional genre lines. Death of Me would skyrocket the band’s notoriety even higher, including a headlining west coast tour with Extortionist (Unique Leader Records) in support. Almost immediately after the release of Death of Me, Bodysnatcher underwent a significant lineup change, bringing aboard Chris Whited (King Conquer, 1776 Recordings) as percussionist and producer alongside Kyle Carter (Beacons) and Kyle Shope (Float Face Down) on guitar and bass respectively. With all three of them working alongside the titanic range and unmistakable vitriol of frontman Kyle Medina as songwriters, a deluxe re-release of their debut LP featuring five all-new songs followed not long after the line-up was cemented. Those songs segued Bodysnatcher into a new sound and style that would not full materialize until their two follow-up releases, This Heavy Void (2020) and Bleed-Abide (2022). These records together would not only see the band signing with premier heavy music label MNRK Heavy, but would also highlight the band’s unique ability to blend harrowingly personal tales of love and loss with blistering aggression. Between This Heavy Void’s “Twelve/Seventeen” and Bleed-Abide’s “Smashed Perception”, the band seemed to encompass the alpha and omega of all things eviscerating—emotionally or, well, literally.

Since Bleed-Abide, Bodysnatcher have continued their tireless grind, touring across the country with the likes of AngelMaker, Hatebreed, Dying Fetus, Emmure, We Came as Romans and more—and spending plenty of time inoculating overseas lands with their unique concoction of crushing brutality as well. 2024 witnesses the band depart for not one, but two colossal ventures with former label mates SPITE—across both Europe and the continental United States.

HEAVY//HITTER are, have always been, and always will be... unabashedly and undeniably real.

Since 2019, the band have buzzed as an underground upstart. They bulldozed a path with the Street Violence EP in 2021. They picked up plugs from Lambgoat, Lawnchair Youth, and more. Between packing houses live, they caught the attention of Blue Grape Music and signed to the label.

Unwavering drive, hustle, and a committed grind brought them to this point.

"Before I started this band, I quit music for five years," says Austin. "I tried to go to college. I was a general manager at Domino's Pizza. I did construction. Nothing was fulfilling, so I got back into music and started HEAVY//HITTER with Dane. I just never gave up on this band. We always want more, and we’re not going to stop."

The band decamped to Los Angeles where they recorded Moments of Misery with producer Austin Coupe. Inspired by the likes of Suicide Silence, Knocked Loose, and Carnifex, they refined an "OG deathcore sound with newer hardcore and metalcore elements," according to the fontman.

Ultimately, HEAVY//HITTER hold nothing back.

"When you listen to us, I hope you feel the emotion we put into the record. That's what music is about. We're not a machine. We're human and honest," Hayes shares.

The Awakening shares dark shimmery 'Mirror Midnight' single ahead of 12th album + tour dates

Gothic Rock / Darkwave act The Awakening shares their new single 'Mirror Midnight', which underscores historical tendency towards self-obsession and the media's recurring manipulation of self-perception. This is the first taste of their self-titled album (their 12th to date), which will be released on October 18 via Intervention Arts.

Now based in the USA, The Awakening is a dark musical project formed in Johannesburg, South Africa in the late ’90s as the creative expression of vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ashton Nyte, who was anointed as "Johannesburg's Bowie" for his widely varying musical styles and theatrical performances. Having morphed over the years, The Awakening's sound incorporates numerous genres, including gothic rock, darkwave, post-punk, electronic rock, folk noir, new wave and more.

'The Awakening' album follows Nyte's second book and eighth solo album 'Autumn's Children', which was selected as one of American Songwriter's Top 17 Albums of 2023. This new album is a celebration of the band's roots and influences. "Essentially, I fell in love all over again with the bands and albums that made me want to create this sort of art in the first place. It was a true joy to create this work," says Ashton Nyte.

"The last two Awakening albums were departures for me. 'This Alchemy' (2021) explored the more electronic side of my musical personality, and 'The Passage Remains' (2022) effectively cleared out the vaults of unreleased heavier material. It feels like it's time to come home."

A core contributor to LA-based supergroup Beauty In Chaos, having been involved with every album released to date, Nyte has collaborated with members of The Cure, The Mission, Tricky, All About Eve, as well as Peter Murphy's band. 2024 also saw Nyte involved in the latest Beauty In Chaos album 'Dancing With Angels'.

Having toured extensively and headlined music festivals in the USA, Europe, and South Africa to upwards of 30,000 people, Nyte has also written and performed in theatrical productions and hosted philanthropic events, including his “Rock Against Rape” concert series. He has also presented a lecture series at US universities focusing on tolerance and acceptance.

With a catalogue of over 300 released original songs, Ashton Nyte and The Awakening have enjoyed airplay and chart success on radio stations worldwide, with songs also featured in popular television shows, such as 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' and 'The Purge'. Nyte has contributed to several scores, working with composer Ethan Gold for the movie 'Don't Let Go' (premiering at the Sundance Film Festival) and for the movie 'Pale Horse', directed by the late Pearry Teo.

As of September 4, 'Mirror Midnight' can be downloaded from fine music platforms. 'The Awakening' album, now available for pre-order, will be released on vinyl, CD, digitally and various limited-edition formats.

From the end of September, EU and UK fans can hear the new material live in a career-spanning solo acoustic tour later this year. This will be Nyte's first post-Covid tour, following a 36-date EU tour with The Mission's Wayne Hussey in 2019. Tickets are available via The Awakening's official site.

Embarking on their co-headlining Country Round Here Tonight Tour presented by Live Nation next Friday, Sept. 5, multi-Platinum hitmakers Randy Houser and Justin Moore release a collaborative version of “Country Round Here Tonight,” debuting the track on “Fox & Friends” All-American Summer Concert Series this morning, Aug. 30. "For this record my aim was to speak through the faceless activists that fight for animals, for those living in vystopia feeling alone and helpless in a world that will fight tooth and nail to defend the animal holocaust. Due to it being illegal to rescue farmed animals from abuse these activists must stay silent about it to avoid having their own freedom taken.

It wasn't an easy task, it's never going to do justice to the horrors animals go through every day by the millions in cold, dark sheds around the world or to those that have witnessed it and are doing everything they can to put an end to it. There's no words, no lyrics and no music that can describe the violence or bring back the lives stolen by human hands so this is for them.

Our idea for this album evolved so much before it started but we knew we wanted something that sounded classic, like it was from a different decade entirely. It had to have all the elements that brought us all towards deathcore all those years ago combined with all the modern touches you'd find in the recent TTG material, all whilst trying to do something new and step outside our comfort zone in the process.

It was cool to work with the new lineup on the gritty details like production, tones and getting the energy of the drums down. Once the album was in a listenable state these guys really gave it all personality and brought everything to the table to shape this new sound.

We're very critical of ourselves as artists and have made music in the past that for whatever reason we haven't loved. With that in mind I think the overall goal with this record was to make something that regardless of what anyone else thought, we were proud of and I'm happy that we all had that shared vision in mind.

We probably had the most fun making this record that we've ever had and it felt liberating to be able to make something that we liked. It felt like starting the band from new again and only having the pressure of wanting to write cool shit.

The singles are tough as fuck and I think do a good job of representing the blunt force approach on the album leaving a tonne of surprises in the sharps bin for when people pick it up on release day. That should make sense when it drops."

Post Profit Release Deluxe Version of "Self Defeater" EP + Share "Two Toxic" Live Studio Video

Last year, Texas quartet POST PROFIT — Matt Jackson [vocals, guitar], Nick Hawner [guitar +vocals], Zach Hicks [drums + vocals], and Charles Horin [bass + vocals] — released their six-song EP, Self Defeater, giving us all a delicious slice of the band's bright future ahead.

Today, the foursome proudly releases the deluxe edition of Self Defeater, which features live studio versions of all the original songs on the EP. All live tracks were recorded with noted producer Machine (Lamb of God, Clutch, Crobot).

Post Profit also dropped the live studio video for "Two Toxic," which was shot by Seamless Loop Productions at The Machine Shop in Austin, Texas.

"We are so excited to release a deluxe of the EP so people could hear these songs in a different light," the band says. "We always tend to add various elements to our songs when we play them live. The feel of the songs translate a lot differently."

Post Profit continue, "The studio versions were recorded with Machine, so he understood the ins and outs of every song and was the perfect candidate to capture the nuances of a more raw recording. With transitions and arrangements that have been made over time, it brings a genuine feeling of excitement, like we're playing the songs for the first time again."

ABOUT POST PROFIT:
Some would say Post Profit have been waiting for this moment since the cradle, with each member being introduced to musical instruments between the ages of 2 to 6.

Zach and Matt forged a friendship as toddlers ever since their moms became best friends from church in Longview, TX. Nick would later learn of Matt's vocal prowess through the high school intercom. "Matt's father was the high school principal," explains Nick. "And he'd have Matt on there in the mornings singing about refraining from drugs and alcohol and striving for good school attendance."

Over the next few years, the trio would really get to know each other from attending and performing at local shows. Nick and Zach especially hit it off and quickly became inseparable, spending much of their time listening to music, eager to put their own band together. Meanwhile, Matt was sinking his teeth into a Dallas based metalcore band called Far From Earth.

During early 2017, Matt started hosting open jams every Sunday at a smoky East Texas dive bar and one night asked Zach to join on drums. Zach dragged his new friend Nick along on guitar and the trio quickly formed a strong musical bond. They would soon start slipping originals into their covers sets and after months of unrelenting practices and bar jams they booked their first show at a Halloween party in Tyler, TX.

With the experience of countless gigs across the South, Post Profit soon gained a reputation for their commanding and impactful live performance, including powerful 2021 and 2022 performances at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, FL. Rallying around influences such as Deftones, Incubus, Failure, and Quicksand, the band refined their original songs and sound into what would become their 2022 debut self-produced album When You Think It's Right It's Always Wrong. The release garnered over a million cumulative streams independently, and the success of their single "Smother" grabbed the attention of SharpTone Records, eventually landing them a deal.

When it was time to hit the road in support of their 2024 Self Defeater EP, the guys turned to Los Angeles native Charles Horin to round out the lineup on bass. "Charles was previously in a band called Analog Party," explains Nick. "And they had very heavy influences from Failure, one of our favorite bands, so we knew right away he would be a great fit musically."

Girlschool originated in the UK during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Scene in 1978 and is frequently associated with contemporaries and friends Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band, still active and rocking hard after more than 40 years.

Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the U.K. in the early 1980s with three albums of 'punk-tinged metal' and a few singles.

In the 1990s and 2000s, they concentrated their efforts on live shows and tours, reducing considerably the production of studio albums. During their long career Girlschool toured all over the world, performing at many of the biggest rock and metal festivals as well as co-headlining with or supporting some of the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands in the genre.

They maintain a worldwide cult following and are considered an inspiration for many succeeding female rock musicians, such as The Donnas.

Original members Kim McAuliffe, Denise (Drench) Dufort are still in the band to this day, original member lead guitarist /vocalist/songwriter Kelly Johnson died of cancer in 2007 and was replaced by lead guitarist/songwriter Jackie (Jax) Chambers in 1999.

On July 28, 2023 at FORTY-FIVE years young, the British hard rock royalty came out swinging with their 14th studio album 'WTFortyfive?,' an outstanding and deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. Kim, Denise, Jackie and Tracey leave the grit under their finger nails and the scuzz on their crusty leather boots as they riff and stomp their way through 12 statements of intent showing major attitude, some great melodies, and a consistent crunch to every guitar.

The Neverland Express + Caleb Johnson is following up their 2023 release Paradise Found: Bat Out Of Hell Reignited with a new, live EP that captures an electrifying performance of classic tracks from the The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The band line-up is Andy Ascolese (keys & bv), Ed Avila (bass & bv), Kiley Baxter (vocals), Paul Crook (gtr), Randy Flowers (gtr & bv), Caleb Johnson (vocals), Lyssa Lynne (vocals), and John Miceli (drums).

This Limited-Edition EP was produced and mixed by Meat Loaf’s long time record producer, music director, guitarist, Paul Crook. As Crook states, “I love Rocky Horror. I have some unique affiliations. Obviously, the first being Meat Loaf. Watching my Boss perform “Hot Patootie”, crashing through a wall on a motorcycle while looking like a zombified version of Elvis Presley is a highlight. His scene comes to my mind first when I think of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.Another affiliation is Sebastian Bach. Our friendship goes back about 30 years in which I toured and recorded with him for several years after his departure from Skid Row. Sebastian handled the role of RIFF RAFF in the 2001 Broadway production. He was great, very entertaining and his voice worked well for the character. My third affiliation now, is this new EP”

HORRENDOUS Release Video for "Preterition Hymn"

This month marks one year since Horrendous brought the metal realm to its knees in worship of Ontological Mysterium. After exploding from the underground in 2018 with the cultishly beloved Idol, last year, the Philadelphia death metal band were the toast of the genre's critics.

Decibel, Metal Injection, BangerTV and Metal Hammer all listed Ontological Mysterium high atop their 2023 best-of lists, often right alongside the band's recent tour mates Tomb Mold. The album also cracked the Billboard charts, climbing well inside the Top 10 of the Current Hard Music Albums.

Today, Horrendous are celebrating the first anniversary of Ontological Mysterium with their first-ever music video. The album's slow-burning triump "Preterition Hymn" now comes with a glorious film treatment that's worthy of a Viking funeral.

Many Eyes began in the winter of 2022 when Keith Buckley (Ex-Every Time I Die, The Damned Things) connected with brothers Nick (Producer/ Owner of Dexter's Lab Recording) and Charlie Bellmore (Corpsegrinder/ Toxic Holocaust) through their mutual friend, Jamey Jasta, frontman for metal legends Hatebreed. The Light Age was written and recorded over a few weeks in both Buffalo, NY, and Milford, CT, where the members reside.Taking cues from the Grunge Rock and Hardcore of the 1990s that was so influential to them growing up, the members of Many Eyes skillfully blend chaos with melody.

Many Eyes’ live performances, including their tour with post-hardcore icons THURSDAY, have demonstrated their ability to deliver high-energy shows with precision and emotion. In Spring 2023, the Arizona quartet — Beau Bokan [vocals], Eric Lambert[guitar], Jared Warth [bass], and Elliott Gruenberg [guitar] — dropped "Wake the Dead," their first new track in five years. It has already accred a whopping 10 million streams.

Today, the band has shared the video for the recently released new single — "Drag Me Under," featuring Alpha Wolf's Lochie Keogh. And yes, it rips. The song was co-written by Tony Cappocchi from Dragged Under and produced and mixed by Hiram Hernandez.

"The first time I heard the instrumental for 'Drag Me Under,' my mind was absolutely blown away," says Bokan. "This song punishes you relentlessly then lets you breathe for about four seconds then continues to punish. I knew we needed a top tier feature to really make this song stand out so we recruited Lochie Keogh from Alpha Wolf. It's pretty obvious this song is totally different than anything we're ever done but still sounds like Blessthefall.”

Riverfront Revival, the two-day music festival curated by Hootie & the Blowfish founding member Darius Rucker and produced by SRE Entertainment set to take place October 11 and 12 at North Charleston’s beautiful Riverfront Park, has released its highly anticipated full music schedule of star-studded performances featuring set times and stage locations.

Double-Diamond, two-time GRAMMY award-winning and internationally acclaimed band Hootie & the Blowfish will cap off the festival on Saturday, completing their 2024 Summer Camp with Trucks Tour at Riverfront Revival in a can’t-miss final performance.

A new offering for Riverfront Revival patrons this year, General Admission Plus tickets include access to a private bar, seating and restrooms. Additionally, 1-Day General Admission tickets are available starting at $115 (plus fees). Weekend passes are also available, including 2-Day General Admission ($215 plus fees), 2-Day General Admission Plus ($375 plus fees) and 2-Day VIP tickets ($600 plus fees). A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit the Arts in Healing Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, a cause which Rucker is passionate about, and Just be You, a local nonprofit helping to build teens’ confidence, self-love and self-compassion.

A Day To Remember Announce "Couple More Shows" — 2024 North American Headline Tour Dates

A Day To Remember continue a banner touring year with the announcement of their next North American headline run, "Couple More Shows." The multi-platinum Florida rock juggernaut will kick off the trek on October 17 at Fountainebleau in Las Vegas, NV before hitting the main stage of When We Were Young Festival on October 19 and 20. Next up, they roll through key markets in the Midwest and on the East Coast before what promises to be a monumental homecoming show on November 9 in Jacksonville, FL and November 10 in Hollywood, FL [full tour itinerary below]. The tour will feature support from August Burns Red and Stand Atlantic. Pre-sale begins Tuesday, August 27 at 12pm ET, with general on-sale beginning Thursday, August 29 at 10am local time.
