Corey Kent Announces Sophomore Album ‘Black Bandana’ + Releases New Track “Never Ready”

On the heels of announcing his headlining 25+ City Black Bandana Tour on Monday, Sony Music Nashville’s Corey Kent has revealed his sophomore album, appropriately titled Black Bandana, will be released Sept. 6, 2024. The platinum-selling Kent has given fans a first listen of the project today with the release of heart-felt, new track, “Never Ready.” Listen to “Never Ready” HERE and pre-save Black Bandana HERE

“There are a few virtues that I live my life by. They have guided me in the toughest and darkest of times. One being unwavering hope… believing if the odds are one in a million, you’ll be the one,” Kent shared regarding his forthcoming album. “Another being relentless perseverance… when everyone else quits, you stay the course. This album embodies those virtues. We all have our battles to fight. Our people to love and protect. It ain’t always easy. When the going gets tough and you feel like waving the white flag, I hope this record inspires you to raise a black bandana instead.”

Produced by Kent with Chris Farren and Austin Goodloe and written by Kent along with Austin Goodloe, Joybeth Taylor, Lydia Vaughan, new track “Never Ready” finds the father of three reflecting on the moments in life you can never truly be ready for whether it is the birth of your child or the loss of a parent.

“I’m so proud of this song,” Kent said. “It’s about those moments in life that no matter how much you prepare for, you’re never ready for them. You know they’re coming and but they’re such big moments when they happen, it still feels like they hit you out of left field. A song about real life, love and loss…all the elements that make for a great country song to me.”

It’s been a breakout year for the gravel-voiced Blacktop singer. In addition to being named a CMT Listen Up Artist, as well as a member of The Opry Next Stage Class of 2023, he released his major label debut album, Blacktop, featuring the No. 1, Platinum-certified hit, “Wild as Her,” and has already surpassed 750 million career streams. The album was a nod back to the Oklahoma native/Dallas based country star’s many miles driving on the blacktop to hone his craft taking music to the fans anywhere he could play.

Never one to rest on his laurels, the road warrior is keeping his foot on the gas in 2024 burning up the blacktop once again with his just-announced headlining Black Bandana Tour. He will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates. The headlining international tour will kick-off in Paso Robles California on Sept. 21, and trek across both the U.S. and U.K. with stops in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Dublin, London and more into early 2025.

Drawing inspiration from The Eagles, Keith Richards, Turnpike Troubadours and more, Kent’s bandana-wearing Rock ‘N’ Roll spirit comes to life on the stage. And after over a decade of paying dues, his career has not been without starts and stops … that perseverance serves as the inspiration behind the tour’s name.

“For us, the black bandana has been what we’ve picked up in times when everyone thought we should wave a white flag to surrender,” shared Kent. “I’ve spent a lot of years raising my black bandana high and letting 'em know that I wasn’t giving up that easy. I’m so excited to still be doing what I love and can’t wait to get on the road this fall and see all those black bandanas waving back at me.”

Kent finds himself musically at the intersection of rock infused country, heartland values, and red dirt grit. Still in his 20’s, he has built an incredible fanbase, developed his live show for the last 15 years, and is positioned as one of country music’s next breakout stars.

Last year the adventure-seeking road veteran joined Parker McCollum on tour in addition to playing festivals and in front of 15,000+ fans a night on Jason Aldean’s 42-city Highway Desperado tour. To close out 2023 he headlined a slew of shows of his own before joining Ashley McBryde on the UK leg of her tour earlier this year.

Brantley Gilbert Releases New Single "Over When We're Sober" ft. Ashley Cooke

Known for his ability to capture gritty realism and the raw emotions of love and heartbreak, Brantley Gilbert’s knack for crafting poignant ballads shines on new single “Over When We’re Sober,” a powerful duet with ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee Ashley Cooke, available now via The Valory Music Co.

“From the moment we started writing, I knew this song was something special,” reflects Gilbert. “We knew we wanted another voice on it, and my producer Brock Berryhill suggested Ashley. I love her voice, and I knew she would take it to the next level. I’m grateful to have someone as talented and dedicated as her join me on this song.”

“When Brantley called me about this song, I listened to the demo and it was an immediate yes,” shares Cooke. “I’ve been a fan for truly so long - in fact, my Christmas present from a college boyfriend one year was a road trip to Atlanta just to see BG’s show. It’s such an honor to get to be on a song with someone I’ve admired for so long. Not to mention, one of the realest, funniest, most talented guys I’ve met on this journey so far. So thankful BG wanted me on this one!”

Written by Gilbert with Jason DeFord (Jelly Roll), Brock Berryhill and Justin Wilson, Gilbert and Cooke bring a dynamic blend of passion and regret to “Over When We’re Sober,” underlining the complexities of yearning:

Along with today’s release of “Over When We’re Sober,” Gilbert is celebrating two new RIAA Certifications from his Platinum-certified album Halfway to Heaven, as “My Kind Of Crazy” reaches Platinum-certification, while “Fall Into Me” is now Gold-certified.

Ten years after the release of his 7x Platinum-certified hit “Bottoms Up,” Gilbert is giving away the 1935 Ford Sedan from the music video. Fans can enter for a chance to win the car, in addition to other prizes including an autographed guitar, autographed “Bottoms Up” framed poster, autographed boots worn on stage by Gilbert, an autographed Just As I Am CD and more. About Brantley Gilbert
With a grassroots following millions strong, multi-Platinum country rocker Brantley Gilbert’s latest single “Over When We’re Sober” featuring Ashley Cooke is available now via The Valory Music Co. The Georgia native has mined a rich vein of conflict between the party and the pew on all his albums, with his music being adopted as the soundtrack to both Saturday night and Sunday morning by audiences around the world. Instead of toiling in limbo, unable to enjoy good times for fear of Judgment Day, Gilbert fully lives––rowdy friend, man of faith, devoted husband, smitten father––just as he is. Following his sixth studio album So Help Me God, Gilbert readies a forthcoming project, giving BG Nation the first taste with “Off The Rails,” a revelry inducing anthem that embodies the kind of high energy live show he’ll bring to the Off The Rails Tour through the fall. Along with the new tracks, he’ll perform songs across his discography, which includes back-to-back Platinum albums and seven No. 1 hits: RIAA 7x Platinum-certified “Bottoms Up,” 2x Platinum “Country Must Be Country Wide,” 2x Platinum “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” 2x Platinum “One Hell of An Amen,” Platinum-certified collaboration with Lindsay Ell “What Happens In A Small Town,” and two chart-toppers as a songwriter with CMA Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party.” For additional information, visit BrantleyGilbert.com or follow him on Instagram, TikTok and Twitter @BrantleyGilbert and Facebook.com/BrantleyGilbertMusic.

About Ashley Cooke
With Big Loud / Back Blocks Music Country artist Ashley Cooke, it’s best to know what you’re getting into – because this emerging star is the definition of more than meets the eye. A graceful exterior matched by a casual-cool nature. Skillfully crafted lyrics and a knack for unforgettable performance. Effortless vocal beauty and a bold sense of internal grit, freely mixing it up with the boys while she rallies the girls. And most important, a passion for capturing the magic between heartbeats, each moment as unique as she is. Still early in her journey, being herself has already served Cooke well. It has led to over 270M global streams with chart climbing hits like “Never Til Now” with Brett Young, Ryman and Grand Ole Opry debuts, national TV appearances on ABC’s The Bachelorette and NBC’s TODAY, tours with Luke Bryan, Jordan Davis, Cole Swindell, Brett Young and more.

Hailing from Parkland, Fla. and moved by emotional hit makers like Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Ed Sheeran and more, Cooke embraces the energy of pop and depth of Country, writing her first song by age 11. Cooke moved to Nashville at 18 and attended the prestigious Belmont University – but unlike so many others, she did not study music. After entering the schools revered Country Showcase on a whim and winning, Cooke decided to pursue music for a year. When the pandemic had other plans, Cooke went to TikTok where she built a thriving fanbase, writing and sharing Country music on her own terms.

And now, the next chapter begins with her debut album shot in the dark. Unfolding as if they were ripped from pages of her personal journal, Cooke’s sun-kissed blend of two-lane pop Country is on full display in the collection’s 24 tracks, inspired by true tales of love, heartbreak and all the moments in between. Fully capturing the essence of a daring twenty-something growing up, chasing her dreams and taking risks, Cooke infuses heartfelt lyrics, captivating melodies and raw relatability as she invites listeners to come along for the ride. The striking debut has already garnered Cooke praise from Billboard who named her the July 2023 Rookie of the Month, with additional praise pouring in from People, American Songwriter, The Tennessean and more. Cooke went on to win her first CMT Award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year at the 2024 CMT Awards before being nominated for ACM New Female Artist of the Year, adding to previous recognition as one of MusicRow’s 2023 Discovery Artist of the Year and Next Big Thing as well as iHeartCountry’s On The Verge artist. Meanwhile, her award-winning single “your place” continues to take her career to new heights as she spins in the Top 5 at Country radio stations nationwide.

Movements Share Video for New Song "Afraid to Die"

Southern California post-hardcore band MOVEMENTS Patrick Miranda, vocals; Ira George, guitar; Spencer York, drums; and Austin Cressey, bass — dropped the brand new single "Afraid to Die." It's the first taste of new music since the band's latest album RUCKUS!, which arrived in summer 2023 via Fearless Records. Get the album, produced by Will Yip, here.

Watch the official "Afraid to Die" music video below.

Movements' push and pull style of post-hardcore, defined by dissonant, tension and release guitar work, thunderclap percussion, and frontman Patrick Miranda's heartfelt lyrics and vocals, is perfectly executed on "Afraid to Die." The anthemic track is full of frantic energy with an ever-so-subtle '80s influence threaded through the song.

"With "Afraid to Die,' we were able to take the energy that was in RUCKUS!, and fine-tune it by exploring different realms of what this band can be and what our music can sound like, and I think we did a good job of that with this song," says Miranda. "Sonically, it's so different than anything we've ever done, and yet I think it still pulls on the heart strings as a lot of our older music does. This song is energetic and bouncy, and I can see it being a really fun song to play live and I can't wait to start doing that!"

Movements are headed over to the UK for tour later this month and the band will be back on the road in the U.S. this September. They have several key festivals on deck, including When We Were Young. All upcoming dates are below!

ABOUT MOVEMENTS:
It's been a whirlwind few years for Movements as evidenced by the fact that band's 2020 album No Good Left to Give debuted at #3 on the Alternative chart and their streams have doubled since then with 300 million total streams in the U.S. alone. However, despite their success, the Southern Californian act have constantly reinvented themselves since forming in 2015 and the band's third full-length RUCKUS! sees the post-hardcore quartet taking their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places. Produced by longtime collaborator Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album fuses post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songcraft to create an album that defies scene conventions in favor of something wholly unique. In order to accomplish this, the band made three extended trips to Yip's Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, to write and record the collection of songs that would end up as RUCKUS! "I truly don't believe that it could have been a more streamlined process and I don't think we've ever written music that's as good as what we put together for this record," Miranda explains. RUCKUS! sees the band integrating decidedly different influences such as Gorillaz and Strokes into their sound to challenge people's preconceptions.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Vera Grace is a DJ and producer currently based in Amsterdam. Her distinctive, raw sound is characterized by textures and hypnotic atmospheres, infused with a sense of tension and release. Vera leads her listeners on a restless journey, drawing inspiration from eeriness and the raw sounds of old-school techno, such as the iconic 909 drum machine. While she is recognized for her harder edge, she's also venturing into more slower, hypnotic realms, bringing her listeners in a trance while staying true to the core elements of techno. Much like herself, she keeps the dancefloor moving while building towards eclectic and powerful climaxes.

Hyden has played for many Parisian clubs and collectives but also abroad. Through his residency within Exil Parisian collective, Hyden now stands out as a figure of the French techno nightlife.

If the mix of genres were to meet the young generation of Parisian techno producers, Hyden would be the result. Both passionate about harmonies and frenzied percussion, he creates music tinged with groovy, old school and mental sounds from multiple influences to offer its own vision of techno : incisive and hypnotic. Let yourself be carried away by his musical signature, stamped with the warehouses of the French capital, which have carved his universe as finely as a sharp blade. Since 2022, Hyden is also in a duo with the DJ and producer Seigg under the name Random Order. They released an EP “Long Live the Groove” with mental and oldschool influences and they perform in B2B.

Hootie & the Blowfish Celebrate 22x Platinum Certification During "GMA" Appearance as 'Summer Camp with Trucks Tour' Heads to Fenway Park

This morning, June 20, iconic band Hootie & the Blowfish electrified audiences nationwide with a live performance of their timeless hit “Only Wanna Be With You” on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” The performance marked a highlight in their ongoing Summer Camp with Trucks Tour, set to make its next stop at Boston’s famed Fenway Park tomorrow, June 21, and running through the fall.

During the broadcast, the band received a special surprise: a commemorative plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) celebrating their debut album, Cracked Rear View, achieving 22x Platinum certification, further extending its Double Diamond-certified status. This monumental accomplishment solidifies Cracked Rear View as one of the top 10 best-selling albums in music history, a testament to the band’s enduring appeal and the album’s lasting impact on the music industry.

Hootie & the Blowfish, formed by members Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld during their time as students at the University of South Carolina, also treated fans to their hits “Hold My Hand” and “Let Her Cry” on “GMA3:What You Need To Know.”

Fans can hear those classic hits and more on the ongoing Summer Camp with Trucks Tour, produced by Live Nation and featuring special guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain. Visiting arenas, amphitheaters and select stadiums such as tomorrow’s stop at Fenway Park (with special guests Barenaked Ladies), the tour also includes a homecoming to Columbia, S.C.’s Colonial Life Arena for the Gamecock alumni as well as a headlining appearance at Rucker’s own Riverfront Revival Music Festival in their home state in October. Tickets to all shows are on sale now via Hootie.com.

In addition, a celebration of the band's decades-long career that brings their classic sound to fans across the country, they also recently released their rendition of “For What It's Worth.” The timeless anthem originally penned by Stephen Stills in 1966 was recorded by Hootie & the Blowfish in 2017 during their studio sessions for Imperfect Circle. About Hootie & the Blowfish
With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish have sold over 26 million records worldwide to date after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994 with hits such as “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” The quartet met at the University of South Carolina where endless gigs at frat houses and local bars built a major local buzz. Their blend of pop, folk, blues, soul and rock made them hard to pigeonhole, but easily accessible to anyone who loved good music.

Atlantic Records, impressed by their regional draw, signed them and released Cracked Rear View in 1994. The album had been out for six months before the band played on the Late Show with David Letterman which sent sales skyrocketing, eventually landing at No. 1 on the Billboard chart the following spring. Cracked Rear View and the band went on to win two GRAMMY Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and multiple People's Choice Awards. Cracked Rear View also earned the band Billboard's Band of the Year Award in 1996 and the RIAA's Diamond Award for sales in excess of 10 million units. At 22x Platinum, Cracked Rear View remains among the top 10 best-selling albums in music history.

The band remained a top draw nationwide following their debut and released five more albums for Atlantic: Fairweather JohnsonMusical ChairsScattered, Smothered & CoveredHootie & the Blowfish and The Best of Hootie & the Blowfish, as well as Looking For Lucky on their own Sneaky Long Records and LIVE in Charleston, The Homegrown Concert Event DVD and CD. The band took a break from full-time touring in 2007, reuniting annually for a variety of philanthropic events while also pursuing solo projects. 2019 marked the band’s first full-time touring year in over a decade as they embarked on the sold-out Group Therapy Tour in support of Imperfect Circle, released in late 2019 under a new record deal with Universal Music Group’s Capitol Nashville, and 2024 sees them return to the road once again for the Summer Camp with Trucks Tour.

No Shoes Nation Drives Chesney's 2nd Single: Just To Say We Did

While Kenny Chesney’s albums have always been a reflection of his life, the world around him and people he encounters, the precedent-setting artist has always put a premium on finding songs that also embody the lives of people who have led lives a lot like he did growing up in East Tennessee. Values-driven, friends- and family-oriented, his music tackles turning points, hard truths and all the joy one can create along the way, and it helped “Take Her Home” become his 33rd – and record extending – No. 1 at Billboard and his 36th No. 1 at Country Aircheck.

To celebrate that achievement, Chesney leaned into No Shoes Nation to pick the life-turning “Take Her Home”’s follow-up. The result captures the existential thrill of being alive. After listening to social media, streaming services and random run-ins with fans across the nation, there was only one choice for the man the Los Angeles Times called “the People’s Superstar.”

“Everywhere we went, everyone was asking for the same song,” Chesney reports. “Everybody wanted us to release ‘Just To Say We Did.’ It was insane how almost unanimous it was, but it’s also pretty much a perfect summer song. I mean, if there’s ever a time when you’re gonna get out of your comfort zone, do something crazy or unthinkable, it’s now.

“And the thing I loved about the song when we were putting BORN together was that idea of ‘shoot your shot!’ Whatever it is, forget the excuses – just do it! Don’t look down, don’t look back! Just jump into the moment and ride it for all it’s worth.”

Savory and smart, the percolating midtempo absolutely leans into that embrace the moment, take the chance reality that has defined No Shoes Nation. As Chesney said when the album was coming out, “What can I say? ‘Just To Say We Did’ sounds like me and my friends growing up, and so many people I’ve met along the way. It’s a song where whatever it is, why not? Get out there and live, shoot your shot, do that bucket list thing – just to say you did. When you can boil down how to create real joy into three minutes that feel this good, I want to sing that song.

“And I think this summer since we’ve been out on the Sun Goes Down Tour, ‘Just To Say We Did’ captures a lot of the energy we’re live on. Not just my road family, but all those crazy, awesome folks pulling up and tailgating out in the parking lots where No Shoes Nation comes to life every weekend. I can’t always get out there among ’em, but that doesn’t mean I don’t hear them or see them, because I do – and it reminds of growing up in the best way possible.”

The Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour, presented by Blue Chair Bay® Rum, has been shattering Chesney’s previous records at almost every stadium he’s played this year. Beyond scratching to find more seats multiple times in Tampa and Philadelphia, as well as a third show at Foxborough, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium, Chesney most recently topped his best at Chicago’s Soldier Field by 2,000 tickets.

Discrepancies Release New Single "Takers"; Announce Tour Dates for this Summer!

Discrepancies released their new single "Takers," on June 14th. The single is already doing well on streaming platforms and radio. The band announced a handful of headlining dates this summer in support.

"This song is about stepping into your power, finding who you are outside of others' expectations and desires. As we grow and change as people we find ourselves being pulled in many directions. Some directions are guided by positivity and self-improvement and others are motivated by the selfish and greedy. It's our own responsibility to decipher which direction is right, which is wrong, and who's here to uplift rather than take down,"says the band's vocalist Antonio Metcalf.

Garrett Weakley, the band's bass player adds, "We're incredibly excited to do one of our first headlining tours to support our brand new single. We've been supporting tours for the last few years, and wanted to hit some markets we haven't been able to make happen for some time. This will be the longest set we've toured with, and we're playing many songs people have been requesting for years. We have some special treats in store, but I don't want to give away everything. Hopefully, we'll be seeing all of you there!"

"Takers" can be streamed/downloaded at:

Discrepancies Tour Dates:

6/23 - Lincoln, NE @ 1867 Bar
6/24 - Minneapolis, MN @ Turf Club
6/27 - Seattle, WA @ FunHouse
6/29 - Wallace, ID @ Silver Mountain Manor
7/1 - Salt Lake City, UT @ The Pearl on Main
7/3 - Kansas City, MO @ Westport Bowery
7/6 - St. Louis, MO @ Red Flag
7/13 - Johnsburg, IL @ Northern Illinois Metal Fest

Discrepancies is the Rap Rock band started by Antonio Metcalf (Vocals) and Garrett Weakley (Bass) in St. Louis, MO. Through discussions about the need for an authentic rap rock sound the two started the band along with Addison Bracher on guitar and vocals. Their first demo was Get Hype in January of 2014, which Antonio & Garrett dropped into thousands of food bags in the drive-thru window of their workplace. This guerilla tactic led to their first single gathering over 100,000 streams within the first 6 months, and allowed their early live shows to pack out the local small cap rooms.

In 2016, the band released The Awakening, which garnered label attention. The Awakening landed on Billboard charts peaking at #32 Alt New Artist and #108 Top New Artist. This record took the band on the road harder than the earlier DIY days, and had them openings for select shows of Mushroomhead, Sevendust, You Me at Six, P.O.D., Hed PE, Straight Line Stitch, Starset, & more. The second single from the record “Not Alone” had a strong Youtube release, and reached over 2 million views within the year. The album was re-released as a Deluxe Edition with 2 additional bonus tracks in 2018 via Invogue Records as well as a limited vinyl option. With the re-release the Discrepancies played the final Vans Warped Tour in 2018 & Rock USA in 2019 to promote the record.

Come 2020, the band dropped their second LP via Invogue Records titled The Rise. The Album’s first single “Control” went viral on social media, which attracted multiple reaction videos, influencer additions, and more leading the single to reaching over 4 million streams on Spotify alone. The song continues to resurface on social media and had a strong resurgence in 2023 on platforms like Youtube & TikTok. Discrepanciesjoined Nonpoint for their winter tour in January of 2022, and continued to tour throughout the year with artists such as Dropout Kings, A Killer’s Confession, Cultus Black, & more.

In 2023, Addison parted ways with the band and Discrepancies solidified their lineup with Brandon Bollinger replacing Addison. Discrepancies hit the road harder than ever in support of their new EP Product Of Entertainment. The band spent nearly 100 days on the road touring with Tech N9ne, Hollywood Undead, Wolves At The Gate, Catch Your Breath, Until I Wake, VRSTY, Outline In Color, ARCHERS, Versus Me, & many more. The first single “Hands Up” came out swinging with over 250k streams before the EP dropped and continues to be a huge staple live for the band. At the end of 2023, Discrepancies hit the studio to finish up more material, and start gearing up for 2024. Discrepancies calls themselves Real Rap Rock, and continues to evolve the sound they have coined as their own.

Discrepancies:
Antonio Metcalf (Vocals)
Garrett Weakley (Bass)
Brandon Bollinger (Guitar/vocals)
Marc Lyle (Drums)

Three decades of Swedish Black Metal filled with precious memories. It is now time for us to reflect on what started it all, a 30-year epic journey, filled with experiences and an unbreakable bond. And in this honor, we have breathed new life into these legendary songs & given them an honest but modern update. Enjoy!“

The trek will kick off on October 17 in Las Vegas, NV and will dominate the states until the final stop on November 20 in Nashville, TN. The Way Forward is out now on Season of Mist

Order: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/list/black-tusk-the-way-forward

Stream: https://orcd.co/thewayforwardpresave

“The big theme of this record is putting your life back together.” That’s Black Tusk guitarist/vocalist Andrew Fidler talking about the band’s new album, The Way Forward. “When everything seems like it’s against you, put your head down and push through. Take those bad things that are happening and use them to help create.”

The Way Forward might be the Savannah swamp metal crew’s seventh album, but it marks many firsts for Black Tusk. It’s their first with their new lineup, which sees guitarist Chris “Scary” Adams and bassist Derek Lynch joining Fidler and drummer James May. Which also makes it Black Tusk’s first record with a two-guitar lineup. “We were able to add leads and harmonies and all kinds of stuff on the new record that we haven’t done in the past,” Fidler says. “As far as our records go, this one has the most guitar work.”

You can hear it in the squealing solo of “Dance on Your Grave,” the killer harmonies on ripper “Harness (The Alchemist),” and the glorious dual guitar interplay of the powerful title track.

“‘The Way Forward’ is my favorite song on the record,” Fidler says. “It’s based on a personal experience that everyone can probably relate to. I got divorced in 2020, and I kinda felt like my entire world was collapsing when that happened. But I pulled myself out of it. I realized that this one thing ending in my life isn’t the end of everything. I’m gonna find a way forward. I’m gonna figure out how to live my life and create and be happy and make new relationships. Which is what I’ve done.”

In true Black Tusk fashion, the new lineup has expanded their triple-vocal approach to quadruple. “Everyone is doing vocals,” Fidler says. “That’s always been a thing in Black Tusk. Derek said he’d never done heavy vocals before, so I was like, ‘Well, here’s the mic. Here’s some words. Yell at it and see if you like it.’ I was blown away the first time he did it. It sounded good as fuck.”

That’s Lynch on lead single “Brushfire,” a song for which he wrote the main riffs and lyrical concept. “That was my first real contribution to the band,” the bassist says. “Thematically, I wanted the aggressiveness of the lyrics to keep with the idea of pushing forward even when the world is trying to drag you down. The mood of the lyrics needed to match the pulverizing tempo of the song.”

The lyrics for second single “Dance on Your Grave” were written by May, who moved from Savannah to Athens, GA, in the time since Black Tusk’s last album. “It’s about his struggles through Covid and what this lifestyle can do to people,” Fidler says. “It’s about getting past the party lifestyle and continuing to do things that are creative.”

Meanwhile, “Breath of Life” distills Black Tusk’s lyrical philosophy into a righteous five-minute pummeling. “Scary came up with the main riff of this song, and it’s one of my favorite riffs on the record,” Fidler says. “I wrote the lyrics, and it’s just about darkness crushing everything. The world is a fucked-up place that we have to navigate through. That’s what a lot of Black Tusk songs are about.”

Black Tusk recorded The Way Forward at Adams’ own Hidden Audio studio just outside of Savannah. Adams engineered the album and the whole band produced. “I actually helped him build the studio in the detached garage next to his house,” Fidler explains. “Me and my carpentry company went out there to do it, and Scary helped.”

“We had about 90% of the riffs and song structures going into the studio, while still experimenting with ideas and inspirations,” Adams explains. “Sometimes we completely reworked parts, which made all the difference. For example, early versions of ‘Breath of Life’ and ‘The Way Forward’ are quite different than the record, and I love where they ended up. Though we did use a few effects and synths here and there for texture and space, to me this record still feels raw and powerful. It captures the feeling of being at a Black Tusk show.”

The cover art for The Way Forward was done by Brian Mercer, who also created the sleeve for Black Tusk’s 2018 album, T.C.B.T.T.C.B.T. had a dark cover because it was a dark time for the band,” Fidler says, referring to the period immediately after the passing of their longtime friend and bassist Jonathan Athon. “This time, it’s full blown, full-color Black Tusk. Brian Mercer and James collaborated on the concept, and Brian really knocked it out of the park.”

“The title is kind of a double play,” Fidler says. “It’s the first record with the new lineup, and this is the direction we’re taking the band in. We’ve been doing Black Tusk for 19 years now, and we still love it. That’s why we called it The Way Forward.”

Savage Lands Performing on Hellfest Main Stage

Loud buzzing is music to the ear of most metalheads. But Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and guitarist Sylvain Demercastel are so enraged by the sound of chainsaws destroying Costa Rica's ecosystem that they've started Savage Lands, a musician-run 501 (c) 3 non-profit.

Savage Lands have protected 60,000 square feet of Costa Rican rainforest using royalties from their music. Next week, they're planting their ecological flag at Hellfest with a little help from some of their famous friends.

Savage Lands Live at Hellfest (Main Stage 02)
Friday, June 28 @ 5:35 - 6:30 pm CEST

Featuring special guests:

-
Andreas Kisser (Sepultura)
- Shane Embury (Napalm Death)
- Vincent Dennis (Body Count)
- Daniel de Jongh (Textures)
- Silje Wergeland (The Gathering)
- Jesper Liveröd (Nasum)
- Alejandro Londono Montoya (Cultura tres)

- Chloe Trujilo

During their hour-long set at Hellfest, Savage Lands will perform classic metal covers along with other songs off their upcoming album, including new single "No Remedy", which features Heilung's Maria Franz.

Watch the chilling video for "No Remedy" below

Stream: https://savagelands.fanlink.tv/NoRemedy

Whether they're planting trees or holed away in the studio, Savage Lands foster the spirit of collaboration. Recently, they made history by signing a joint manifesto that addresses the need for forest and wildlife preservation. This marks the first time that three active Costa Rican / US-based non-profits have officially banded together over a shared mission statement.

"No Remedy" follows the same approach, though to different results than Savage Land's first two singles. Sylvain still comes speeding out the gate with another burning riff that will ignite the crowd at Hellfest, but this is the most melodic song they've ever written. When the band hit the chorus, the guitars don't crunch but crest into warm, washed-out power chords.

"That's one of the beautiful things about Savage Lands", Sylvain says. "As a band, we're not limited to just one genre. We can adapt to boost the strengths of whomever is joining us".

Black Bomb A experts know Poun for his explosive screams, but on "No Remedy", he simmers down in service of guest vocalist Maria Franz. Heilung are also partnering with Savage Lands by donating $1 for every ticket sold on their 2024 US tour to support their reforestation efforts, but their faithful followers might be surprised to hear that her soothing clean singing fits right at home with a heavy metal band.

"Supporting what Savage Lands is doing on the ground in Costa Rica was an easy decision" Maria says. After all, Heilung have a tradition of donating to tree planting initiatives. "But when Sylvain sent me 'No Remedy', there was a sense of melancholy to the song that really resonated with me".

Protecting the environment is the heartbeat of every Savage Lands song. "No Remedy" can be seen as a reflection on destroying the planet. The video was shot in an abandoned, run-down building that was once owned by Napoleon. But the song speaks to other human concerns. "I am locked in my head / And I lost the key", Poun bemoans, his quiet desperation only answered by Maria's haunting echo ("Never, never now").

"We are all helpless to stop the passing of time", Sylvain says. At the end of the video, the band members disappear from the screen, one by one, using an old-school film technique. "Each of us is left with only our memories".

Still, "No Remedy" does find a silver lining. "What do we need to live together?" Poun and Maria sing, their voices climbing, almost circling each other, before locking into perfect harmony. They might look mad as hell while yelling at each other across the kitchen table, but the whole video crew was in stitches after the sixth take of Maria throwing water on poor Poun. "Whether we're talking about the environment or our friendships, it's vital that we appreciate what we have during our time on this earth", Sylvain says.

Just listening to "No Remedy" helps support Savage Lands. 100% of the song's royalties fund the musician-run non-profit's preservation efforts in Costa Rica.

Artists occasionally support causes through donations to organizations. With SAVAGE LANDS, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren teamed up with his guitar-wielding friend Sylvain Demercastel to create their own US 501(c)3 non-profit.

Savage Lands raises money for reforestation and the creation of sanctuaries free of human destruction in Costa Rica. Using their own royalties, donations and other fundraising efforts, the organization builds nature sanctuaries, establishes green zones and other land preservation projects. They partner with other non-profits, scientists and forest engineers, as well as Decibel Magazine and Season of Mist.

"If you want to make a difference, take action! Our greatest hope with Savage Lands is that it will inspire you to join us, and if you can, to start your own initiative to help preserve animals, forests, and our planet", says Dirk.

ANCIIENTS Shred Through "Cloak of the Vast and Black"

JUNO Award winners return with heavy and heartfelt Beyond the Reach of the Sun

"Big, melodic and fun" - New Noise
"A blend of soothing acoustic rock melodies and crushing heavy metal" - Guitar World

"It's exciting stuff, really - often complicated without seeming excessive, skillful but soulful, approachable but not pedestrian" - Pitchfork

"Heady stuff...arch-synthesists, cleverly appropriating a number of familiar, inter-related genres to fuse into a seamless ethos" - Metal Injection

"Proggy, sludgy and downright rocking" - Angry Metal Guy

"When the riffs rumble out of the speakers, you're moving" - No Clean Singing

"Combining powerful drumming with Thin Lizzy inspired riffs, while sounding like the musical equivalent of Game of Thrones" - Echoes and Dust

"Parts progressive finesse, classic rock grandstanding and grass-roots bludgeon" - PopMatters

The rock 'n' roll landscape is still shaking from the news: after eight years of searching, Anciients have emerged from the Canadian wilderness. The heady and hearty Canucks recently announced Beyond the Reach of the Sun, their first album since winning the coveted JUNO Award for Metal/Hard Rock.

Today, Kenny Cook, Mike Hannay and their new cast of shredders are releasing a smooth but still positively crushing guitar playthrough for their new album's second single. "Cloak of the Vast and Black" sheds light on the darkness that nearly overshadowed Beyond the Reach of the Sun by blazing a new trail with the same spirit that's made them a guiding light for progressive metal.

Watch the guitar playthrough for "Cloak of the Vast and Black" below.

Beyond the Reach of the Sun comes out August 30, 2024 on Season of Mist.

Ask any hard rock enthusiast about Anciients and their shock and awe might lead you to believe they were describing Big Foot. The band left a sizable imprint on the scene after just two albums, but then seemingly disappeared without a trace. So what led them to go into hibernation?

"Basically, right after Voice of the Void was recorded my wife had our first kid", says Kenny Cook, who on top of vocal and guitar duties also handles the bulk of the band's songwriting. "She ended up having heart complications and almost died". Everyone is happy and healthy now, but caring for his wife and new baby put a lot of stress on the typically laid-back frontman's mountainous shoulders. "It was a bit of a road".

"Cloak of the Vast and Black" also comes out of the shadows. The first single from Beyond the Reach of the Sun began by leading us through a field of bright keys and folksy acoustic plucks, but this time around, the guitars are so dimmed with reverb that even the leads twist and turn as if trying to navigate maze-like cave tunnels.

"This song is about mental illness and living under the cloak of depression", Cook says. But despite the many bumps in the road over the last eight years, like the high beams of a monster truck, Anciients found a way to come barreling out of the darkness. Just as the playthrough video bursts into full-blown color, the band strike upon a riff that burns as fast as a stick of dynamite.

"Searching for a new way of life", Cook growls with renewed force, as if awoken by the sudden explosion of psychedelic power chords.

The concept behind Beyond the Reach of the Sun does venture into heady territory. Society is enslaved by forces from another dimension who are so towering in their tyranny that they blot out the sun. Still, at its core, Anciient's third album is about perseverance. Cook's road is a little easier to envision. "Working on these songs helped clear the negativity that had clouded my thoughts", he says. But the albums' narrative arc winds up floating in the same enlightened headspace.

"Ancient knowledge buried deep in the sands of time", Cook sings, practically beaming as Dead Quiet axeman Brock MacInnes shreds a dizzying alternate guitar lead right beside him. "Awake on the other side".

Of course, headbanging helped, but Cook credits his bandmates for helping him see through Beyond the Reach of the Sun. Mike Hannay can still kick down the door to any metalhead's mind with a well-timed blast beat, but by the time "Cloak of the Vast and Black" finally tapers off, he's locked into such a massive flow state with new bassist Rory O'Brien, that Anciients sound like pre-historic giants who've returned to roam the earth.

"The hiatus is over" Cook says. "We missed out on a huge block after the last record. But with a new album to go along with our new band members, we're ready to hit it hard".

FEDERALE presents psych-rock gem 'Advice From a Stranger', previewing 20-year anniversary album 'Reverb & Seduction'. West Coast tour kicks off July 12

“Equal parts Ennio Morricone, Lee Hazelwood, and Nick Cave with a touch of Chris Isaak’s less romantic side… few if any artists are brave and/or creative enough to channel this ghostly, often ominous vibe into moving, sensual and stirring music” ~ American Songwriter

"Their most immersive and varied album to date, Collin Hegna and his merry band of music-makers take us on a fantastic journey... and on ‘Heaven Forgive Me’, Hegna channels the post-punk vibes of such bands as The Church, Pink Turns Blue and The Mission to our delight" ~ The Spill Magazine

Portland's iconic outfit Federale presents the single 'Advice From A Stranger', previewing their new 'Reverb & Seduction' album, set for release on July 12 via Jealous Butcher Records.

Their sixth studio album, this record marks the band’s twentieth anniversary. Their most immersive and varied album to date, with do-it-all frontman Collin Hegna at the height of his powers, this is a tour-de-force road trip from psych rock to country duets, never straying too far from the spaghetti western roots that inspired the band many blood-moons ago. These musical homages involve a new lineup of well-known Portland rock-scene vets, including talents from The Dandy Warhols, The Shivas, Roselit Bone, Rogue Wave and Delines.

On 'Advice From a Stranger', Federale leans into their psych-rock roots. As a 20+ year member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Hegna has been party to a lot of feedback & fuzzed out guitars. And while the Pebbles and Nuggets oeuvre has crept into the works of Federale on occasion, it has always been as a background influence. But, for this song, the desire emerged to outwardly embrace the aesthetics of personal genre heroes: The Electric Prunes, The Pretty Things, and The Chocolate Watchband.

On this track, Hegna is joined by Jared Molyneux (The Shivas) on guitar, Pat Spurgeon (The Dandy Warhols, Rogue Wave) on drums, and Ryan Lynn (Mission Spotlight, The Needs and guitar tech for The Decemberists, Metric, and The Lumineers) on guitar.

Collin Hegna shares, “It's a mean world out there. If you don’t choose how you want to live your life, someone else is gonna do it for you. And you can bet they don’t have your best interests at heart. One has to be brave and do the hard things if one wants to accomplish anything worthwhile. And that can be hard when you're swimming against the tide. It's easy to get confused because there’s a lot out there trying to keep us all confused. To thine own fuzz pedal be true. Just a bit of advice from this stranger."

Since forming, Federale has carved out a unique niche within the indie music landscape, blending their signature spaghetti-Western instrumental sound with increasing doses of moody vocal arrangements in the spirit of Lee Hazlewood and late-period Leonard Cohen. Through it all, Hegna – as both songwriter and lead singer – maintains a strictly retro vibe. Federale's records have always sounded period-correct for an alternate-universe 1971, where rock and roll never caught on.

The ten tracks that make up 'Reverb & Seduction' were recorded at Revolver Studiosin Portland and engineered by Collin Hegna, Matt Thomson and Andrew Joslyn, who boasts five 5 Grammy Award winning albums. Mixed by Jeff Stuart Saltzman (The Black Keys, The High Violets), Matt Thomson and Collin Hegna, this album was mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering.

Earlier, Federale shared two singles - the lead track 'Heaven Forgive Me', featuring The Black Angels' Alex Maas, and 'No Strangers', a tribute to Lee Hazlewood, which involved drummer Dave Mudie, who plays drums for Courtney Barnett of The Dandy Warhols, Andrew Joslyn (Nancy Wilson, Kei$ha, Macklemore, Mark Lanegan), and Hunter Lea (Grammy nominated Nancy Sinatra / Lee Hazlewood reissue producer).

Ron Laboray of Little Richard’s Almanac, who animated the video for the new single, along with Niki Elliott, explains, "This song 'Advice From A Stranger' supplied us with a broader narrative, and we were able to let our imaginations run. We came to the idea of using Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights as a backdrop while brainstorming possibilities on a hike, as the painting connects well with the themes of god and forgiveness found in the song, and it’s weird as hell. The song's tempo had also led us to consider monster movie possibilities and, after deciding on the painting, the garden gnome emerged as a sort of Godzilla figure, the perfect hero to do battle in Bosch’s garden. 'Advice from a Stranger' is our favorite animation to date - 15th century and it still slaps!"

As of June 19, 'Advice From a Stranger' will be released everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and Band camp. The full 'Reverb & Seduction' album, out July 12, will be released on CD, vinyl and as a digital download, and should also be available from fine record dealers.

Federale's 'Reverb & Seduction' tour, which takes them up and down the U.S. West coast and beyond, kicks off in Portland on July 12 with their album release show. A European tour is anticipated in late fall 2024.

Eyes Like Midnight Drop "Bad Love" Following the Success of Debut Single "Digital Deity"

STREAM Eyes Like Midnight

https://linktr.ee/eyeslikemidnight

Hot on the heels of their successful debut single "Digital Deity," emerging rock sensation Eyes Like Midnight announced the release of their second single, "Bad Love." Following the April 18th release of "Digital Deity" to streaming platforms globally, the track has been in full rotation on Sirius XM's Octane and has garnered significant airplay on FM radio. The track has also received notable placements on both the Decibeland New Rock Pandora playlists further cementing Eyes Like Midnight's place in the modern rock landscape.

"Bad Love" takes a different approach sonically, incorporating elements of synthwave and modern pop with a brutal metalcore breakdown. The track shows the diversity and range the band is capable of.

In addition, Eyes Like Midnight will take the stage at Rock Fest in Cadott, WI, on July 20th.

WATCH the Official Music Video for "Bad Love" Below.

Welcome to the new world.

In this age of artificial intelligence, rapid change and dynamic evolution are inevitable.

Trends and bands come and go with the hyper-speed of information flow. After 10+ years and nearly 700 live shows all across America, the dissolution of vocalist/songwriter Robert Cosgrove’s band Sleep Signals in 2023 gave birth to something new and noteworthy - and in 2024, it emerged as a fully evolved idea.

EYES LIKE MIDNIGHT signifies the dawn of a new era, where his seemingly-limitless ability to create is no longer bound by the constraints of staying within formula. “Starting over has allowed me to be much more dynamic and to incorporate different sounds into the framework of my music”, explains Cosgrove.

Recording 15 new songs in three multi-week, intense sessions at producer Chris Dawson’s Aphiotic Studios in rural Kansas, Robert and his co-writers spent eight weeks writing and tracking the music that would ultimately encapsulate the beginning of EYES LIKE MIDNIGHT.

As the first phase of the band’s live WATCHES are confirmed, more new music and content will be unveiled. Even in the darkest of nights, there is always a glimmer of hope to be found. EYES LIKE MIDNIGHT are cutting through the darkness with a beacon of clarity.

Eyes Like Midnight Show Dates:

7.19.24 Davenport, IA @ The Village Theatre
7.20.24 Cadott, WI @ Rock Fest w/ Jelly Roll, Chevelle

Eyes Like Midnight:

MORTIIS Announces BRIGHTER DEATH NOW as Direct Support for Upcoming Tour, Announces Additional Dates

Dungeon synth master MORTIIS is pleased to welcome BRIGHTER DEATH NOW as direct support for the upcoming North American "The Dungeons are Calling" headlining tour, who will be performing parts of his "Necrose Evangelicum" album from 1995 for this tour for the first time! The band will join from the tour kickoff through the Los Angeles stop on September 21. Local openers will also be added, which are handpicked by Mortiis himself!

In addition, a performance has been added to Albuquerque, NM to the previously announced routing and has updated venues in Los Angeles, CA and Houston, TX. The tour will be in celebration of MORTIIS' seminal 1993 album, 'Født Til Å Herske,' which played a significant role in popularizing the dungeon synth genre and was re-recorded in 2023. The new itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

MORTIIS live soundscape will be accompanied with visuals created by renowned artist and illustrator David Thierree, known for his work with Mortiis, Behemoth, and others.

MORTIIS comments:

“The circle comes unbroken once more, as we’ve evoked the ghosts of 'Født Til Å Herske' and 'Necrose Evangelicum.' I’m beyond excited to have reconnected with Roger Karmanik, in this quest to reawaken our shared past of a quarter century ago. I have reinforced, and iron-clad the sound of 'Født Til Å Herske,' while the sound of Brighter Death Now´s 'Necrose Evangelicum' will send your soul screaming into oblivion.”

Roger Karmanik of BRIGHTER DEATH NOW adds:

“Life just turns in the most curious ways! Heading off on a US-tour with my old friend Håvard is one of these. Releasing 3 of his early albums on my label Cold Meat Industry in the 90’s as well as having Mortiis as cooperation on the Brighter Death Now album 'Necrose Evangelicum' leaves no better option than to reinvent this for me groundbreaking album and to perform it live for the first time ever. Death Industrial meets Dark Dungeon! Free your soul, let the body burn!”

Previously announced support for the tour includes Sombre Arcane (September 4-17), Malfet (September 14 - 28), and appearances by Fogweaver in Denver, CO and Albuquerque, NM.

If you missed out this year, you can get a little taste of the excitement with Metal Injection's "Behind the Scenes" chats with I Am Morbid, Municipal Waste, Bleed from Within, Bewitcher + more HERE.

You can also find a full video recap and clips of the band's via The Most Epic Adventures with Robb Zipp HERE as well as by Wyatt's Metal channel HERE. Warning: May cause whiplash!

Milwaukee Metal Festival 2024 conquered The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI last month with so many epic performances and surprises! Festivities kicked off with the pre-party on Thursday, May 16, with a headlining set from JASTA and Friends, in which Jamey Jasta joined forces with Bobby Blitz, Zetro, Bobby Hambel, Danny Diablo, and Hoya Roc, in which they rocked the house with original songs and fan favorites!

The three day festival kicked off on Friday afternoon, with fans lined up around the block to catch the openers, packing out the room from wall to wall for the first Century Media set of the day by USBM masters UADA. As No Echo writes, "the precision they brought to the stage showcased how a band listed as an 'opener' can perform like they are the only band on the lineup." The day was jammed with a mix of black metal, death metal, thrash, and of course, an epic block of power metal to close the evening from Hammerfall, Symphony X, Doro, Kamelot, and the weekend's first headliner, Blind Guardian.

Saturday also started with a bang, with newcomers Morbikon setting the tone for the day with their rip roaring energy and blackened speed while Long Island hardcore horde Internal Bleeding got interactive with the crowd, leaving the stage behind as they took the floor alongside the audience for their brutalizing showcase. Meanwhile, the crowd surfers never stopped and trash cans were affectionately thrown around during Municipal Waste's now legendary performance, only rivaled by the Dunable Guitars/MartyrStore.net headliners, Belushi Speed Ball, whose set was described by Metal Insider as "an all-out (NERF) war in the bar, with people throwing trash cans, toilet paper, and assorted other objects around in a moshpit that filled most of the space."

Of course, highlights also include The Red Chord's flawless performance, the long-awaited reunion of Soilent Green, epic album plays by Death to All and Terrorizer, and of course, co-organizer Jamey Jasta's own Hatebreed who really delivered the PMA. Katatonia adapted to a new guitarist as one of their own had travel issues, but the fans were still moved nevertheless by their somber and beautiful music while Mr. Bungle closed out the night with their legendary lineup and a mix of originals and covers.

Despite the relentless energy exerted from the fans over the first few days, they did not at all slow down by the final day. With hangovers and bangovers, festival goers once again arrived bright and early for Sunday's openers, with death metal newcomers Stabbing and Milwaukee mainstays Casket Robbery stealing the early show with their blistering brutality. Death to All returned for a second album play, this time to a larger room, setting the tone for an epic second half of the final day with stunners like Gatecreeper, I Am Morbid, Lacuna Coil, Avatar, Skeletal Remains, In Flames, and Slaughter to Prevail made sure the festival ended with a bang!

As Knotfest eloquently stated on the festival's conclusion, "Framing the scope of the festival - with a reverence for the classics while still nurturing the contemporary - the final day of Milwaukee Metal Fest perfectly summarized the bigger picture in resurrecting the festival brand. Combining the classic with contemporary, year two further asserted the importance of the fest and properly set the stage for the next edition in 2025."

Kent Brings Hits + New Music with Direct Support by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts,
Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on Select Dates

It’s been a breakout year for Sony Music Nashville’s Corey Kent. Never one to rest on his laurels, the road warrior is keeping his foot on the gas in 2024 and will be burning up the blacktop once again with his headlining Black Bandana Tour.

Kent will be joined by Braxton Keith, Kaitlin Butts, Max McNown, Karley Scott Collins and Lauren Watkins on select dates.

“It all started with a bunch of Oklahoma boys piling into a red van called ‘Rooster’ and taking any gig we could get. We believed our live show would speak for itself, and we’d hustle to the merch table after our set to sling t-shirts in hopes of making enough to fill up the van to get to the next show. All those sleepless nights in the van, all the opening slots, all the miles, all the shirt slinging, all the blood, the sweat and the tears PAY OFF TODAY!” Kent reflects. “Today, I’m stoked to announce our first ever headline tour starting here in the USA and then hopping across the pond! Time to make some memories.”

Kent finds himself musically at the intersection of rock infused country, heartland values, and red dirt grit. Still in his 20’s, he has built an incredible fanbase, developed his live show for the last 15 years, and is positioned as one of country music’s next breakout stars.

“For us, the black bandana has been what we’ve picked up in times when everyone thought we should wave a white flag to surrender,” Kent furthers. “I’ve spent a lot of years raising my black bandana high and letting 'em know that I wasn’t giving up that easy. I’m so excited to still be doing what I love and can’t wait to get on the road this fall and see all those black bandanas waving back at me.”

There are two presales prior to Friday. Artist presale begins Tuesday, June 18, at 10 am local time through Thursday (June 20) at 10 pm local time. Spotify presale begins Thursday, June 20 at 10 am local time through Thursday (June 20) at 10 pm local time.

George Strait: The King at Kyle Field is Largest Single Concert in U.S. History

With two new songs already available off his forthcoming Cowboys and Dreamers September 6 album, the demand for the King of Country has never been hotter as made clear at Saturday night’s show (6/15/24). The Texas native set a record for largest single ticketed concert in U.S. History* and a new record for Texas A&M Kyle Field for a single event** with 110,905 fans in attendance for George Strait: The King at Kyle Field with special guests, fellow Lone Star natives and MCA labelmates, Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman.

With energy pulsating throughout the bowl, Strait greeted the record crowd after his second song of the night, “I Got A Car,” taking it all in. “It's so good to be here with Catie Offerman and Parker McCollum - let's have another big round of applause for those two. And happy birthday Parker, my gosh, what a day, what a place to spend your birthday, right?

“Man, I wanna whoop so bad, but you can't whoop if you're not/you don't go to school here? (pausing) Can I whoop, one time, just once? ‘Whoop!’” to which the crowd erupted. “I had to do it - my son said it's okay if I did that, he graduated from A&M…

“We got a lot of songs to play for y'all today/tonight. What a beautiful night, too, right? We got some new stuff that we're gonna do also, we got a new album ... out in September called Cowboys And Dreamers, so we got some stuff from that we're gonna play from that for you also and we got a really special thing we're gonna do for you, so alright, what are we here for?!,” launching into “Here For A Good Time.”

Fans came early and stayed the weekend in the gig ‘em town, filling every hotel, bed & breakfast, and Airbnb within a 40-mile radius. Night-of-the-show, they were dancing in the aisles and rejoicing in a night of hit-soaked country.

Strait’s set included “Here For A Good Time,” “Check Yes or No,” “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” “Troubadour,” “Amarillo By Morning,” and “Take Me To Texas” as well as music off his anticipated new album: “MIA in MIA,” “Three Drinks Behind,” Jennings’ “Waymore’s Blues” and the unreleased “To The Moon.”

Strait paused midway through his set to turn the stage just over to Retired Lt. General Leroy Sisco, presenting his 118th home to hero, Sgt. Tiffany Baker, via Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Homes 4 Wounded Heroes Program. Additionally, through an ongoing front-row ticket raffle fundraiser benefiting the Jenifer Strait Foundation, powered by Propeller, at each of the last 17 shows Strait has signed and donated “the shirt off his back” for the charitable initiative. To date, the program has surpassed $1.1M raised for the foundation.
