ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE Unleashes Music Video for New Single, "Vanquishing Spirit"

Richmond war metal duo ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE will release their third full-length, 'Vengeance of Eternal Fire,' on April 19, 2024 via Profound Lore Records! The band is now unleashing the second single from the offering, "Vanquishing Spirit," along with a vicious performance video! The clip was directed and edited by Dan Wagner and can be found below.

UADA Unveils New Music Video for "Retraversing the Void," Kicking Off North American Tour This Week

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are now unveiling a mind-bending new music video for the song, "Retraversing the Void," which is taken from the band's latest full-length, 'Crepuscule Natura.' The evocative clip can be found below.

UADA comments, "Originally filmed in 2021 and then re-filmed in 2023, the story of 'Retraversing the Void' spins light on the ever-old cliche' tale of rising from the fall. 

"As life is full of ups and downs, it is of utmost importance to remember our worth, dedication, and inner potential so that we may understand the universes plan in guiding us along our path. 

"While it may be common to feel lost from time to time, we must know we are always where we are meant to be in order to learn from the experiences life presents. 

"We hope the symbolism within provides an awakening analogy of opening our perception to the balance of all things as well as the ability to listen to the greater powers (be it the higher-self, an ancestral messenger, or perhaps a deity known as one of many gods) who often speak upon deaf ears. 

"We are all the substance that is and ever was."

The video comes just in time to kick off UADA's upcoming Western U.S. tour! The band will be supporting ROTTING CHRIST in the Pacific Northwest and Canada from March 25 - April 1. UADA will be book-ending the trek with a run of headlining shows from March 22 - March 24 on the West Coast and then will hit the Midwest from April 3 - April 7. Northlane are gearing up to hit the road again! The band has announced its Summer 2024 North American headline tour, featuring Invent Animate, Thornhill, and Windwaker.

Additionally, Northlane will drop their forthcoming EP, Mirror's Edge, on April 12. Mirror's Edge was recorded with their old friend and revered producer Will Putney. Described by Jon Deiley (songwriter/guitarist) as "the greatest hits of Northlane sounds," the EP is a nostalgic journey through all the colors on their sonic palette, with bonus shades from special guests Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool/Birds of Tokyo) — two of the most influential artists in Northlane's history. Their former bass player, Brendon Padjasek, also stopped by the studio to lend his scream to one of the tracks. Penned just over a year after the release of their award-winning album, Obsidian, the road to Mirror's Edge was a bumpy one. Instead of riding high from the success of the album, the simmering tension and communication breakdown between band members threatened to engulf Northlane at any moment. Northlane tackled their issues head-on at a writing retreat in Victoria's Yarra Valley, where they worked through their problems and unlocked new channels of creativity in the process that reflects through the EP. From the expansive prog of "Afterimage" to their signature bottom-heavy groove and viscous breakdown of "Kraft" and compulsive beat and electronic focus of "Dante," Mirror's Edge is full of Northlane's most vivid colours and textures.  Thematically, the EP is about looking at yourself and reflecting on the past one final time before leaving it all behind to find hope in what lies beyond the mirror's edge. With the recurring theme of acceptance binding these songs together, frontman Marcus Bridge is hopeful that Mirror's Edge will be the coda on this part of his personal life, so much of which he has shared in the last couple of Northlane releases.

"'The Wolf' is a song and a concept that I felt a lot of us can identify with," Wallen says. "We've all known those people that for whatever reason we just can't break ourselves away from them. An addiction on every level, all the while knowing it's a toxic situation. You break all those promises to yourself that you'll stay away, but ultimately there you are again."

Commenting on the video, he shares, "The video for 'The Wolf' was shot in a beautiful house in south Nashville. Directed by Courtney Dellafiora, we wanted an intimate look and setting that was reminiscent of waking from a dream in the middle of the night, and then grabbing the guitar and playing the song. The most exciting thing of all with getting to work with 'Bane,' the real live wolf actor and his amazing training staff for the shoot! That was a first for me, and I couldn't be happier how the video turned out."

ABOUT KEITH WALLEN:
Keith Wallen is a prolific songwriter responsible for soaring melodies and hypnotic hooks heard across modern rock radio. The West Virginia-born troubadour uses his solo work as a vehicle to explore his multifaceted passions, moving seamlessly from the smart pop of '80s favorites like The Police and Depeche Mode to the big moody riffs of '90s grunge heroes like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots. 
 
His co-writing collaborations include compositions with Saint Asonia, Fuel, We Came As Romans, Red, Dorothy, and Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch's Love And Death. Wallen bares his soul as a solo artist with earnest resolve, powering his honest anthems with commanding vocals.

The song mixes a keyboard loop with guitar stomp — making it an instant addition to ALL of your Spotify playlists. Conceptually, it addresses a very relatable and topical issue — don't get caught up in death scrolling because life does not begin at the end of your wrist, phone in hand, focused on your feed. It truly begins when your phone is tucked in your back pocket.
 
"'Greed' is one of the seven deadly sins," says vocalist and mastermind Waylon Reavis. "I'm not talking to any victim. It's more of a warning. Social media is all-encompassing. People get greedy and flex for attention. Other than the band, I try to stay off social media as much as I can. Everyone flaunts what they have, and followers or 'friends' base their lives on this rat race. Don't let it get a hold of you. You can't take any of these material things with you. Personally, I won't let it be the death of me."

Overall, A Killer's Confession explore the captivating repugnance of true crime, set to a soundtrack of melodic hard rock dosed with elements of metal and industrial, on their forthcoming album, the details of which will be announced in due course.

After three seminal albums with Mushroomhead, Reavis retreated from music, only for it to draw him back in 2016. He resurfaced at the helm of A Killer's Confession, delivering three cult favorite albums — Unbroken [2017], The Indifference of Good Men [2019], and Remember [2021]. Along the way, the band tallied tens of millions of streams in addition to collaborating with everyone from Brian "Head" Welch of Korn and Love And Death to Chad Gray of Mudvayne and HELLYEAH. Joined by bassist JP Cross, guitarist James Skritch, and the duo drums of Will Spodnik and Kegan King, they also captivated crowds on tour.

"'Throw It Away' is about learning a lesson through loss. It’s a cautionary tale about watching somebody surrender or give in to fear and societal pressures, forfeiting their chance of happiness and success. The lyrics, "I can’t believe you threw it away," echo the sorrow and disbelief that comes from watching somebody give up to doubt and fear. Ultimately, the song teaches us the most vital lesson of all. - Never give in to fear and hold fast to your dreams. It’s never too late. Don’t Throw It Away."

KORPIKLAANI - Release New Single/Video 'Oraakkelit'

Finnish folk metal superstars KORPIKLAANI are happy to unveil their newest single and music video  'Oraakkelit'. It's the third single from their upcoming new studio album, Rankarumpu, which is due to be released on April 5th, 2024. 

KORPIKLAANI's twelfth studio album is once again full of tasty folk metal and its different flavors, but it also offers new spices. One of the most wonderful features of Rankarumpu is related to the folk instruments. Although KORPIKLAANI has done one or maybe even a couple of unforgettable things in the realm of folk metal, this time new permanent member Olli Vänskä's violin and Sami Perttula's accordion may surprise even die-hard fans.

'Oraakkelit' shows a darker, more serious side of KORPIKLAANI and is a nice contrast to the happier, more upbeat previous singles, 'Saunaan' and 'Aita'. The mood of the song has been perfectly captured by a mystical and visually stunning video directed by Vesa Ranta.

Singer Jonne commented:
"I had never actually written a shuffle based song before and I wanted to try to write such a riff and see how it would work in metal music. Normally it is used a lot in old blues and rock’n’roll music. I was suprised how cool it went and then I thought: what if all the gods all over the world would have a big rock’n'roll dancing party together underground. The idea made me laugh, so I decided to use it!"

Drummer Samuli added:
”When I heard the first demo I was really excited. This is something very different! I felt there could be a cool shuffle feeling to the rhythm and I started to explored it. There is a great atmosphere in the song. First it lurks enigmatically but then it starts to rock! Drumwise you can use lots of dynamics. It will be a fun live song!”

You've been asking for it, and now the time has come! ABBATH DOOM OCCULTA and his band will revisit the past and pay tribute to his legacy by performing a carefully selected set of old fan favorites and iconic metal anthems he co-wrote and recorded in the period 1992 - 2009 during the upcoming "Return to the Raven Realms" tour that will be coming to the EU and UK this summer!

The tour, which the bands jokingly call "The Dreaded Virginity Tour," spans Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. The shows are an exciting run of dates following their appearances at Smartpunk Records' showcase at SXSW, which is being held in March. 

Their setlists will feature new songs and old fan favorites as both bands anticipate a big year ahead.

BAT ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM UNDER THE CROOKED CLAW + RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE, 'RITE FOR EXORCISM'

Richmond, Virginia metal-punk trio BAT has been delivering their own blood-spattered horror since ascending from the underground a decade ago on a dark, leather-winged trajectory. The brainchild of MUNICIPAL WASTE guitarists Ryan Waste & Nick Poulos, BAT leans heavily on the dirtier side of speed metal. On May 17th, the band welcomes the release of their second full-length album Under The Crooked Claw via Nuclear Blast Records.

Jam-packed with tight, concise songs loaded with punchy choruses and lightning-laced leads, each of the 13 tracks offers a new horror short story mixing the perfect blend of heavy metal, punk, and rock ‘n’ roll or as Waste coins it "primitive heavy speed". 

The band offers the first single entitled, 'Rite For Exorcism' along with a video clip directed by Norman Cabrera, produced by Maya Kay, and cinematography by Rob Lucas at Wolfpack Studios.
 
BAT's Ryan Waste states, “This record came together during dark times and its aggression is surely a reflection of that. Nick, Chris, and I hammered out song after song in a grimy, mold-ridden warehouse, turning our anger at the state of the world into what became 'Under the Crooked Claw'. To set the tone for the album, I called upon legendary Italian horror maestro Fabio Frizzi to compose an intro, just before BAT’s raw force assaults your ears. While simultaneously working on a heavy metal horror script with Norman Cabrera, I shared some of the new BAT songs with him. With our shared taste in film and vision, we devised two video concepts for the upcoming record based on my lyrics. The first offering is our twist on a tale of an exorcism gone awry, that Norman completely nailed to the cross.”

The power trio, completed by drummer Chris Marshall, decamped to Philadelphia in June 2021 where Arthur Rizk recorded the basic tracks for Under The Crooked Claw. Yavé Rust tracked lead guitars and vocals later when the band was back in Richmond, ultimately to be mixed by Rizk and mastered by Joel Grind. The artwork for the album was inked by Brandon Holt and colored by Margaret Rolicki.

Indigenous black metal master BLACKBRAID will be performing in The Netherlands for the first time this October! The project will be appearing at this year's edition of Soulcrusher Festival, which will take place from October 11-12 in Nijmegen (NL), alongside an eclectic mix of artists such as ZEAL & ARDOR, LAMP OF MURMUUR, PHARMAKON + more! This will not be Blackbraid's only appearance across the Atlantic this year as other festival appearances have been confirmed such as Fortress Festival (UK), Nummirock Metal Festival+ Helsinki Metal Festival (FI), and Kilkim Zaibu Festival (FI). CHAYCE BECKHAM SETS DEBUT ALBUM, BAD FOR ME, FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 5

“Once I finished recording this album and had time to live with it, I felt the title Bad For Me fit perfectly. It sums up a lot of my own faults,” says Beckham. “I like a lot of stuff that’s bad for me, even though it ends up being kryptonite but that’s all a part of being human. I am so proud of this record. I just hope there’s a song on this album that makes somebody feel something.”

Carefully crafting a series of deeply personal stories, his true-to-Beckham mix of dusky Western sonics and smoldering rock energy come to the forefront, as fiddle, steel and loping rhythms stand beside a rebellious, untamed spirit and his rustic vocal. 

Continuing to open his soul like most would never dare, Bad For Me’s themes like substance abuse, guilt and romantic remorse are in plain view, joined by the inner struggle of a man wishing he was more. Battling the bottomless pit of wondering how things got the way they are, this album also shows an appreciation for life itself, and a promise to keep up the fight. 

Featuring the 19 Recordings/Wheelhouse Records/BMG artist’s solo-written, PLATINUM hit song “23” that’s streaming over 4.6M per week and surging toward #1 at country radio, the former fork-lift driver’s debut features 13 tracks, including several he wrote entirely by himself before he won American Idol, including the poignant fan-favorite “Mama” that he actually performed on the show, along with the propulsive barroom rocker “Drink You Off My Mind.”

BLOODSTOCK reveal Lemmy Forever Memorial, Lemmy's Ashes to Live At BLOODSTOCK in 2024

BLOODSTOCK, by arrangement with Motörhead management, have announced that the legendary, late, great Lemmy Kilmister will be permanently memorialised at the heavy metal festival.  Some of Lemmy’s ashes will be housed at BLOODSTOCK- one of only a few places globally - in a unique urn, with the festival commissioning a Bust of Lemmy to incorporate the ashes.  Fans will be able to view the installation and pay tribute to Lemmy and his legacy in the RAM Gallery on site.  Once the festival is over, the Bust of Lemmy will move to Nottingham’s Rock City venue, where fans will have access to the ashes; they will return each and every year to their primary home on the hallowed turf of BLOODSTOCK at Catton Park. 

Motörhead’s manager, Todd Singerman comments: “BLOODSTOCK has always been a special place for Motörhead and for Lemmy. The people and the energy matched Lemmy’s values perfectly. Alan and Vicky were also great friends, and basically family of Lemmy, as he was the reason that they originally got together. This is definitely a fitting honor in the continuing series of enshrinements of Lemmy’s ashes in his most loved places.”

BLOODSTOCK’s Vicky Hungerford adds “We were humbled and honoured to be approached by Motörhead management to have Lemmy’s ashes at BLOODSTOCK. Lemmy holds a very special place in everybody’s heart, but to myself and my husband he was the reason we met and fell in love. The memorial will be part of a bigger picture theme for the festival this year to commemorate this special news and celebrate the remarkable legacy of Lemmy and Motörhead.  The RAM Gallery on site will be extended this year to accommodate an expanded Motörhead theme, including a full wall of Motörhead artwork, as well as archive memorabilia, plus you can relive a moment in time by visiting a recreation of Lemmy’s touring dressing room (attached on to the gallery, accessible from within the gallery marquee).  On site this year,  BLOODSTOCKers will see the Motörhead Bomber in the arena, witness various bands paying tribute to Motörhead in their live sets, and the opening and closing of the festival will be marked with a sounding of the famous Motörhead air raid siren.  BLOODSTOCK will also welcome Motörhead’s Phil Campbell to the festival this year and are thrilled to have his participation in these special celebrations. Even more Motörhead themed activations are still in the works, so stay tuned as this exciting development continues coming together.
