BRRR! There's a chill in the air and it's courtesy of ice cold death metal crew Frozen Soul!

The band — vocalist Chad Green; guitarists Michael Munday and Chris Bonner; bassist Samantha Mobley; and drummer Matt Dennard — is back with frigid force and will unleash its new album Glacial Domination on May 19 via Century Media. "This song is special to me as it's about my late brother," says Green. "We used to play Everquest and when I stopped, I gave him my character named 'Swiftarroww.' He played Swift for 20 years until he passed. The song reflects on his life, referencing the game and how he never let darkness change who he was. He shone bright and made everyone around him shine. Now that he's gone, we carry his light to keep the darkness at bay."

They've just shared the video for the new single "Without a Whisper." Watch it below.

The song tackles a deeply personal topic and invites some intense introspection. The visual finds the band performing while once again cloaked in neutral attire and surrounded by florals that represent the ebbs and flows of nature. 

"'Without a Whisper' is about my grandmother dying, and me having to confront death for the first time," says guitarist Keaton Goldwire. "As someone who's not religious, it was the first time I had to really ask myself what happens in the after life. The song is me hoping, even though I don't believe, that she's in a place like heaven. 'I know I've been there before with you' is my way of saying I know we've been together in happiness, in a state I imagine as heaven before."

HAMMERFALL Present Lyric Video For Remixed & Remastered Version Of "Riders Of The Storm"

In 2023 HAMMERFALL are celebrating the success of Crimson Thunder achieving Platinum status in Sweden. Continuing their retrospective series, the band will be releasing their very own 20-Year Anniversary edition via Nuclear Blast on April, 28th.

Blake Shelton's BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR Arrives to Rave Reviews

Blake Shelton wanted his new Back to the Honky Tonk Tour to have the fun, laid-back feel of his early days on the road playing clubs. With a bar that runs the entire length of the stage and thrust that features 100 barstools and a host of bartenders, the first dozen dates have had fans singing and dancing and celebrating country music. It’s safe to say Shelton has accomplished his mission!

“For two hours, Shelton made that arena feel like a wild country bar, where just about anything could happen and he was the bartender, slinging out music instead of shots,” said the Louisville Courier-Journal after his show there last Thursday (3/9). Calling him a “true entertainer” in the headline, the review went on to say, “For one night only Blake Shelton opened the largest honky tonk in the state of Kentucky.”

Saturday night’s show brought a similar review from the Indianapolis Star, which noted, “Shelton's return to Indianapolis brought heart and catchy tunes. The audience ate up everything he had and seemed to go home full. His mission to celebrate country music through ‘the biggest honky tonk in the state of Indiana’ was achieved.”

Shelton’s “Honky Tonk” is a feast of country music with openers Jackson Dean, whose debut single “Don’t Come Lookin’” recently went to No. 1, and singer-songwriter Carly Peace, who is celebrating a recent GRAMMY Award win, as well as CMA and ACM Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. Shelton’s two-hour set runs the gamut of his career with songs, from his 2001 No. 1 debut single “Austin,” to his multi-Platinum, award-winning smash “God’s Country.” 

“This throwback-themed concert tour… served as a reminder that the fun, wisecracking-but-tender coach we see on television is the same fella country music audiences still love seeing onstage,” said the Minneapolis Star Tribune of his recent show in the Minneapolis-St Paul area.

The Electric Happy Hour (Live) tour will kick off on May 15th in Ventura, CA, and will make its way to Des Moines, Fort Wayne, and Detroit before ending in Los Angeles on June 9th.

Continues Flynn, "It makes me super proud that we have stayed the path playing these intimate venues doing 2 and 1/2 to 3 hour 'Evening With-style shows' for the last 8 years.  These shows are incredibly rewarding for us as musicians and to people who come out to just go fucking nuts with us.  Eight years ago the idea was to provide OUR PEOPLE with an experience no other metal band was/is doing right now, and somehow this crazy idea stuck! Me personally... I’m getting really bored of going to see a band headline for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or trudge 50 miles down to the amphitheater to pay $40 for parking and $15 bucks for beer to see a show, so being able to offer something unique in this day and age feels really good.”

The news of the tour comes as Rucker puts the finishing touches on his forthcoming seventh solo album, which he recently revealed will be called Carolyn’s Boy in honor of his late mother. Fans have gotten an early preview of the music via recent releases songs “Same Beer Different Problem” and “Ol’ Church Hymn” (featuring Chapel Hart), with additional new music expected soon.

Produced by Cason Cooley, it expands the band’s mix of timeless songwriting, modern-day Laurel Canyon folk, amplified Americana, and heartland rock & roll. “All The Money in the World,” with its deep-pocketed groove that showcases The Neighbors’ musicality, is punctuated by blasts of brass, marking the band’s first song to feature horns. “That's On You, That's On Me” makes room for barrelhouse piano, slide guitar, and the greasy grit of a juke joint rock band. “On a Roll” and “Possibility” are Springsteen-sized rock & roll melodramas that wail and exalt, their cinematic arrangements built for the large rooms that Holcomb regularly plays these days. “Fly” is a reflective, finger-plucked folksong. Finally, there's “Dance With Everybody,” a lively tribute to the live show that brims with a joyful optimism — a feeling that was often missing during the band’s earlier years, when their shows weren’t nearly as packed. Song by song, Strangers No More offers an all-encompassing view not only of the places Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors have been, but where they're headed next, too. Drew Green’s current single “Good Ol’ Man'' currently has over 80 million streams worldwide.  The single gained its prominence after Green posted the song on TikTok.  The viral track has now amassed over 53,300 user generated videos on the platform. The new track dropped on the heels of Drew Green’s two-EP musical journey, Dirt Boy Vol. 1 (Sept. 2020) and Dirt Boy Vol. 2 (Oct. 2021). Green’s debut seven-song collection yielded the streaming successes “She Got That” and “Little More Be Alright.” His  subsequent EP included the title track, “Dirt Boy,” and four additional tracks. Buckcherry Announce New Album "Vol. 10" + Share "Good Time" Video — WATCH

Buckcherry will release their tenth studio album entitled Vol. 10 on June 2. 

The 11-song album features 10 new Buckcherry originals and, as a bonus track, a cover of the Bryan Adams classic "Summer of 69." The album was produced by Marti Frederiksen and recorded at Sienna Studios in Nashville. The album will be released in North America by Round Hill Records, in Japan by Sony Japan, and by Earache Records for the rest of the world. The album is available for preorder at here and here.
 
Premiering today is the video for the first single "Good Time." The video, directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts, was shot in Los Angeles. Watch it below.

Winger Announce "Seven" Out 5/5 + Band Shares "Proud Desperado" Video

In celebration of their 35 years as a touring and recording act, multi-platinum artist WINGER announce today the release of Seven on May 5. 

The 12-track album, produced by Kip Winger and recorded in Nashville, will be distributed worldwide by Frontiers Records.  
      
Seven, the band's first new release since 2014's Better Days Comin', is now available for preorder on CD/LP/Digital here. 

Additionally, the album's first single, "Proud Desperado," is now available for streaming/download on all digital music platforms and a music video can be seen below.

Winger are one of the only bands formed during the late '80s that still features all original members — Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstein, and Paul Taylor. Guitarist John Roth was added in 1992. To support the new album, Winger will begin extensive touring beginning with a UK tour with Steel Panther in May, followed by a U.S tour with the Tom Keifer Band in June. The band will return to the road this spring and summer on a co-headline run with The Used. The "Creative Control Tour" kicks off on May 23 in Austin and runs through July 2 in Phoenix. All dates are below. Get tickets here.

PTV's evolution from album to album is nothing less than stunning. CODEFENDANTS Enlist Rap Legend The DOC For His First New Verse In 19 Years On New Track/Video; "Fast Ones"

In an act of what some might call saving the best 'til last, Fat Mike, Sam King and Ceschi Ramos aka Codefendants have dropped the series finale of their music video pentalogy today for brand new track "Fast Ones". Speaking on working with Codefendants on the new track and video, The DOC says

Sam King from Get Dead’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was incarcerated. Months later, they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock over a bottle of Jameson. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.

They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with Fat Mike from NOFX as producer. Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album that sounded like nothing else - a completely genre-fluid album - a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. And thus a whole new genre - Crime Wave - was born. That album entitled This Is Crime Wave will be released via Fat Wreck imprint, Bottles To The Ground.

ENTER SHIKARI Share New Single "Bloodshot" & Announce Special Matinee Show

Enter Shikari are today sharing "Bloodshot", the third single to be taken from their highly-anticipated forthcoming album A Kiss For The Whole World, which will be released on 21st April via SO Recordings / Ambush Reality. Listen to "Bloodshot" below.

"Bloodshot" follows recent singles "(pls) set me on fire" and "It Hurts", both of which were instantly embraced with open arms by fans old and new, and received their first live outings during the band’s sensational run of sold-out February residency shows in the UK. For Enter Shikari, rejuvenation, resilience and resurrection have been on the agenda as they introduce new music to the world. However, in the arrival of "Bloodshot" the band have more questions to pose themselves, and us.

Lead vocalist and producer Rou Reynolds explains:

“Every day, I seem to be asking myself “Is this article biased?”, “is this claim true?”, “Should I be more furious about this issue? Or less furious?”, “Am I being manipulated? Provoked? Radicalised by my own ‘tribe’?.

"Bloodshot" is about how hard it is to find truth, and how easy it is to stop thinking for yourself and simply repeat your ‘team’s’ mantras.

Everyone’s so fucking angry with everyone else and it’s exhausting. It seems like social media’s main purpose these days is to hypnotise us to hate."

As the calendar now signals three years since Enter Shikari last released an album - their UK #2 charting album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible – it is useful to think back to the final question the band last posed fans: “Is this a new beginning? / Or are we close to the end?” Little could they know just how close to the end things would end up feeling as the events of the early ‘20s dimmed the light in the furnace of their live juggernaut, and connection to their fans. “At the time it felt like we ourselves, as musicians, were experiencing the death of our band,” says lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.

Unsurprisingly, the key in the band’s ignition came in the form of a live show as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. Where not a single new word flowed from the pen of Reynolds in the two years prior, a realisation was born that would come to define the band’s seventh LP: “I just didn’t realise that the human and physical connection to other people were so central to how I write,” he says. Enter Shikari isn’t just four people – it’s hundreds of thousands.

The album's lead single "(pls) set me on fire" sparked the next stage in the band’s evolution, and the first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 don’t come in the form of a question this time, but a command: “Please set me on fire”. In other words, ignite the spark inside us and set us free. This may be a new Enter Shikari but they’ve lost nothing in their flair for bold opening gambits.

Reynolds comments on the single’s conception: "Honestly, I thought I was f*****. I’ve never felt so detached from my soul, my purpose, my f****** spirit. I didn’t write music for almost two years. The longest I’d gone before that was two weeks. I was broken. It’s almost as if my brain had asked: “What is the point in music if it cannot be shared? What is the point in writing music if it’s not to be experienced with others?” and then promptly switched itself off. ‘(pls) set me on fire’ grew out of that desperation. This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free."

It was in the Spring of 2022 that the band descended to the coastal town of Chichester, and a delipidated farmhouse, to rebuild their studio setup and capture their renewed momentum on record. Using only solar power to track the album – in what Reynolds says was to “bring back some sense of naivety” – the life-giving properties and Technicolor palate of A Kiss For The Whole World were made real. Reynolds continues: “Back to basics. This band - my best friends - bundled into an old farmhouse, miles away from anywhere. Off-grid, and ready to rediscover ourselves. This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act”.

Hailing from Chicago’s renowned Wax Trax! Records stable of artists, MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT have been conjuring up sonic tales of sex, blasphemy and kitschy horror since 1987. The band helped develop the industrial music genre, yet have continued to expand their style, creating one of the most diverse repertoires in modern music. Electronic rock, heavily influenced by both disco and funk can best describe their sound, while spoken-word samples lifted from B-movies gives the band their signature mark. They have released 14 studio albums, a slew of remix compilations, and have contributed to a variety of soundtracks and film scores, including a cameo performance in the 1994 cult movie classic The Crow.

Artist Franke Nardiello and musician Marston Daley, two Chicago neighbors who enjoyed late night binges watching trashy exploitation films and horror flicks, wanted to make their own movie to be called “My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. While the project never came to fruition, they wrote some music to be the accompanying soundtrack. Both worked at the Wax Trax record store, and when label founders Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher heard the songs, they were intrigued. Using the film title as the name of the band, they released a 3-song EP in early 1988. The response was overwhelming, and it was clear fans wanted to hear more.

Taking the stage names Groovie Mann (Nardiello) and Buzz McCoy (Daley), the duo began to focus on music full time. They created an occult meets leather biker image to compliment the band’s name which included enlisting a bevy of voluptuous back-up singers / dancers known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. In June of ’88, they flew to label mate Luc Van Acker’s studio in Belgium to record their first album, I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits. It was recorded in just ten days, and mixed in another ten days at Southern Studiosin London. The fans ate it up! They followed up with two hard-hitting dance floor 12” tracks - Kooler Than Jesus (1989) and Cuz It’s Hot (1990), which features no-wave chanteuse Lydia Lunch on vocals. The New York Times wrote, “Sex, blasphemy, big beats and go-go dancing; they’re all in a day’s work for My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult”. This attracted the attention of indie fans, as well as the ire of the PMRC and conservative religious groups in practically equal measure. By the time of their sophomore release, Confessions Of A Knife (1990), they were far and away one of the biggest selling acts on the label.

1991 saw the release of their third album, Sexplosion!, a calculated sonic and visual departure from their previous work. 1950’s pin-up models replaced the demonic imagery, while sleazy stripper horns, disco beats and house diva vocals (provided by artist Shawn Christopher) took prominence over the more abrasive musical elaments.They put together a provocative stage show, complete with spinning police lights, mirror balls and a stocked bar with bartender to serve the scantily clad musicians and dancers while they performed. Alternative Press reviewed the show as “Sin-sational!”, while Melody Maker described it as “A Cabaret from Hell”. It was a huge success, and the album sold so well (fueled by the phenomenal radio hit “Sex On Wheelz”) that the group signed a deal with Interscope Records shortly afterwards and released two more albums - 13 Above the Night (1993), and Hit & Run Holiday (1995).

Hollywood also embraced the KULT, recognizing the unique cinematic aspect in their sound. Most notably, the band scored five songs for animator Ralph Bakshi’s Cool World (1992) and wrote the lap dance song for director Paul Verhoven's saucy Showgirls (1993). Comedies BASEketball and The Flintstones Movie prominently feature songs from the Hit & Run Holidayalbum. They have been roasted by MTV’s Beavis & Butthead, and were written into the story line of the film Sexy Evil Genius which also features the song "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan”. Most recently the club hit “Kooler Than Jesus” can be heard blasting in Season 3 of the Netflix series Narcos.

The band moved to Rykodisc in 1997 and re-released their entire remastered / repackaged catalog, along with five more studio albums, including an homage to 70’s disco era called Gay Black & Married, and the sultry and decadent Filthiest Show In Town (2007). They also formed their own label, SleazeBox Records, in 2001, enabling the release of a growing number of side-projects in addition to new TKK material.

Today SLEAZEBOX.com boasts the complete THRILL KILL KULT catalog, in addition to related works such as Mann’s DARLING KANDIE, and McCoy’s self titled projects. They continue to work with Wax Trax! Records for the purpose of re-issuing special limited edition vinyl. Buzz and Groovie still record and perform live along with veteran band mates Mimi Star (bass) and Justin Thyme (drums), all the while making a reputation for themselves as one of the most notorious and controversial cult bands of their generation.

Currents Announce Spring 2023 Tour

NEW ALBUM THE DEATH WE SEEK OUT MAY 5 VIA SHARPTONE

Connecticut metalcore outfit CURRENTS spent the winter on tour with Parkway Drive + Memphis May Fire. They are eager to head back out on the road and will embark on a headline run this spring. The Death We Seek Tour kicks off on May 11 in Worcester and runs through June 9 in Philadelphia. Like Moths to Flames, Invent Animate, Unity TX, and Foreign Hands will appear on select dates.

Invent Animate appear from May 11 through May 14 and return on June 6 through June 9. Unity TX appear from May 19 through May 31.
