KOE WETZEL RETURNS TO COUNTRY RADIO WITH “HURTS LIKE YOU” AHEAD OF JUNE 12 ALBUM, THE NIGHT CHAMPION

Koe Wetzel charges back to Country Radio this week with “Hurts Like You,” the lead single from his highly anticipated sixth studio album, The Night Champion, arriving June 12 via Columbia Records. “Hurts Like You” follows a landmark radio run for Wetzel’s Double-Platinum certified “High Road” featuring Jessie Murph, which spent five consecutive weeks at No. 1 and became the most-played song at Country Radio for all of 2025.

Written by Wetzel alongside Ashley Gorley, Steph Jones, Carrie K and producer Gabe Simon, the jaggedly propulsive “Hurts Like You” offers the raw intensity fans expect, but with a vulnerability and surrender to desires that cut you open.

“‘Hurts Like You’ was one of the first songs that we wrote for the record,” Wetzel recalls. “It’s kind of about a toxic relationship; whenever you get into those situations, you know it’s not good for you, but there’s just something about it that keeps bringing you back. It’s hard to get away from. I feel like a lot of people go through that, so I hope people can relate to the way that we felt about it.”

Critics are already embracing the track’s sharp-edged energy and crossover appeal, with VICE praising the song as “an alt-rock revival… the Texas-born rocker blends Country & Western with post-grunge in a way that scratches so many itches. ‘Hurts Like You’ has grit, but never sacrifices melody. It’s relentlessly catchy, but it still has balls.”

Set for release June 12, The Night Champion captures the aftermath of a wild run, delivering all the signature force, punch and ragged details people expect, tempered by the clarity that comes with surviving it. Turning chaos, excess and hard-earned perspective into something built to endure, The Night Champion fuses all that’s happened since Wetzel first hit the road with a van and the drive to see how far he could take it.

“It’s a continuation of 9 Lives, from that record to now,” Wetzel offers of the follow-up to his globally connecting release. “Really, it’s everything that’s happened – because you don’t go from kids playing for beer to headlining Red Rocks, arenas all over the country, partying and trying to make sense of it all and not shift. My head space is clearer now. I can look back, see how it fits together. It doesn’t make sense, exactly, but it all happened. That search for what it all means keeps bringing me back.”

Whether fans were there from those first nights in Texas, the wake of his indie breakout Noise Complaint or found the music during last year’s radio rush, The Night Champion is built to offer a sense of all the phases as it brings the disparate audiences together. “I’m not torn between the worlds,” Wetzel notes of the convergence. “This is where all the fans meet. No matter when they got here, this is that moment.”

Pollstar’s “firebrand live sensation” is also bringing the new music to fans across the globe with The Night Champion World Tour, having recently wrapped his Australia run with dates across the U.S. and Canada to come. Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent, Wade Bowen, Bayker Blankenship, Kolby Cooper and Logan Jahnke join as support in varying combinations.

Joan As Police Woman shares 'I Defy' feat. Krystle Warren, final single from 'Real Life Evolution' album (out June 12th)

n the home-stretch towards her “Real Life Evolution' album, out June 12th via UK independent Reveal Records, trailblazing NYC artist Joan As Police Womanpresents 'I Defy' feat. Krystle Warren.  Co-written and originally performed with Anohni, this infectious version previews a stunning collection of new arrangements of the songs from her debut album 'Real Life'.

Joan is also sharing a live rendition of 'I Defy'accompanied by Will Graefe and Jeremy Gustin, as part of 'The Real Life Anniversary Sessions', following earlier videos for 'Eternal Flame', 'Flushed Chest', 'The Ride' and 'Anyone'. The entire series was recorded by Adam Sachs at The Owl Music Parlor in Brooklyn and filmed by Ehud Lazin

Exactly 20 years since releasing 'Real Life', Joan has reimagined and re-recorded the album in full with numerous guests, including Iggy Pop, Will Graefe, Jeremy Gustin, Tony Scherr, Parker Kindred, Danny Blume, Oren Bloedow and Thomas Bartlett. Developed through countless performances, these renditions are brought to life by the brilliance of the players who helped define their sound.

“This song is dear to my heart. Anohni and I wrote it mid-conversation in her tiny apt on 15th St. “I defy, I love your way”. It’s a declaration, an insistent act of love. Finding the right voice for Anohni’s part in 'I Defy' required someone truly special. I’ve long considered Krystle Warren one of the finest singers alive, and when I reached out to her, she sent her vocals back within a day. When I heard them, I nearly fell over,” says Joan Wasser.

"When playing live with Will and Jeremy, we took it down, softened the edges and warmed it with some muted sunshine. Will’s voice has a warmth you could describe as tawny. Jeremy’s drumming glows."

Joan Wasser, known professionally as Joan As Police Woman since 2004, is a critically acclaimed musician and producer, and a sought-after collaborator, dubbed “the coolest woman in pop” (The Times) and “one of the 21st century’s best musicians” (The Economist). As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music defies easy categorization, crafting her own sound that blends various genres. She has released ten albums of original material, two cover albums, and an anthology.

Joan As Police Woman has recorded and performed with hundreds of artists, including Afrobeat legend Tony Allen, Lou Reed, Anohni & The Johnsons, Meshell Ndegeocello, Rufus Wainwright, John Cale, David Byrne, Dave Okumu, Chris Dowd, Lau, Scissor Sisters, Sparklehorse, Beck, Laurie Anderson, Lloyd Cole, Afel Bocoum, Dave Gahan, Tanya Donelly, David Sylvian, Steve Jansen and Damon Albarn (who collaborated with Joan on her song 'Get My Bearings' and on Gorillaz' 'Song Machine' album). She also a member of Iggy Pop's touring band (on keys and vocals).

As of May 26, 'I Defy' is available digitally everywhere. The 'Real Life Evolution' album will be released on June 12th. Now available for pre-order on Bandcamp, it is available on CD, digitally, and Limited Edition exclusive red marble vinyl.

Later this year, Joan embarks on her Real Life 20th Anniversary Tour, performing the 'Real Life' album as a trio, plus singles from her catalogue, fan favourites, deep cuts, reworked covers and some surprises!  Ahead of June's sold-out NYC shows at Joe's Pub, she has a free show at Bryant Park on June 18. Tour tickets can be ordered at https://linktr.ee/japw or www.joanaspolicewoman.com/tour.

FROZEN CROWN Announce New Album Via Napalm Records!

The legend starts: FROZEN CROWN head into their very own age of gold with the announcement of their new album, The Legend of the Six Kings, coming October 2 via Napalm Records. Taking a more narrative approach than previous releases, their sixth album sends the Italian band on an epic quest. The ten brand-new heavy power metal tracks expand their dynamic repertoire into a slightly darker, but nevertheless illustrious, direction. With lead vocalist Giada "Jade" Etro changing her formerly cheerful approach to claim the sinister titular frozen crown, the band shows its true form with this straightforward punch of a record. The Legend of the Six Kings has FROZEN CROWN take the throne deserving of their band name. A powerful work of rousing heavy power metal and massive vocal arrangements, the six-piece delivers a glorious performance filled with energetic melodies and catchy choruses. The Legend of the Six Kings matures the band's trademark sound and makes sure that these six kings and queens will remain what the title states: legends. The album is open for pre-order now.

FROZEN CROWN about The Legend of the Six Kings:

"With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills.

"The Legend of the Six Kings draws directly from our debut album The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant, as we are—thanks to a brilliant newly extended team—finally able to do justice to what we had in mind with the original concept of the band. The visionary genius of Raoul Noise (the video maker behind all our new videos and band photos), the masterful craftsmanship of Daria Gislon (who designed and built the throne and the literal 'frozen crown') and of course the outstanding artistic talent of Sheila Franco (who hand painted our album cover art) gave life to the vibrant, obscure, frozen world we had in mind since the very beginning of the band, somewhere between J. R. R. Tolkien’s harmonious and regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard's brutality.

"The Legend of the Six Kings brings not only new visuals, but also an empowered sound, with the young war hearts getting older on the battlefield and becoming an increasingly leading force of the Crown (with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Niso Tomasini becoming a more integral part of the songwriting together with singer Giada 'Jade' Etro and mastermind Federico Mondelli) and new warriors joining our ranks (Aleksandra Stamenkovic and her scorching, old school, abrasive guitar leads).

This sixth album depicts the strength of our six band members, and our personal idea of Power Metal infused in ten catchy tracks touching the most varied nuances of the genre, from raw and uncompromising Speed Metal, to the sumptuous magniloquence of Symphonic Metal, to the occasional linear chaos of Melodic Death Metal, but always sounding as FROZEN CROWN as ever!"

SERPENT LORD Streams New Album via Black Metal Promotion Ahead of Friday's Release

Solo pagan black metal project SERPENT LORD will be releasing its debut album, 'The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,' on May 29, 2026 via Eisenwald Records. The project is now streaming the offering in its entirety ahead of Friday's release via Black Metal Promotion, which can be found below.

SERPENT LORD first slithered into existence in 2003, emerging as a solitary pagan black metal vessel forged by Jake Superchi (UADA, Ceremonial Castings). Though the project's first true album was recorded in 2005, the work was abruptly shelved and lay dormant for twenty years. Now, in the Year of the Snake, the ancient offering has been reborn and reimagined as 'The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,' preserving every note of its primordial conception.

The album was re-recorded in the cold heart of the Pacific Northwest between 2022 and 2025, engineered and mixed by Jake Superchi, and mastered by Arthur Rizk. The release features new artwork and the original logo created by Kris Verwimp, along with photography by Peter Beste.

Pre-orders are now live via the Obsidian Spells Shop (North America), Eisenwald (EU/UK), and Bandcamp (Worldwide).

Originally formed over two decades ago, SERPENT LORD existed largely in the shadows, issuing only a handful of demos before entering an extended period of dormancy. Yet, the creative force behind the project never faded. Ideas, fragments, and compositions endured across the years, shelved for the right moment, only fully taking shape and being realized in the Year of the Snake, when the vision was finally forged into its definitive form.

Early demo material already hinted at what SERPENT LORD would become: a severe balance between melodic grandeur and unrestrained aggression, with transitions between atmosphere and brutality, produced to enhance rather than obscure its intensity.

Founded by Jake Superchi (known for its creative force in UADA and CEREMONIAL CASTINGS), SERPENT LORD channels the spirit of ’90s pagan black metal. The album stands as a triumphant and immersive work - melodic, fierce, and steeped in ritualistic energy. Expansive riffing, evocative passages, and a dynamic interplay between harsh and atmospheric elements, both timeless and fully awakened.

The album was recorded and mixed by Jake Superchi, and mastered by Arthur Rizk, achieving a sound that retains raw edge while delivering clarity and depth. The cover artwork, created by Kris Verwimp, along with photography by Peter Beste, further underscoring the album’s mythical and arcane atmosphere.

With 'The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,' SERPENT LORD emerges from decades of silence with a work that fulfills the promise of its early recordings; it's an album shaped by time, and driven by an uncompromising vision of black metal.

Defiled Upend Death Metal Convention on New Single “Altered State”

While masters of the vile art known as death metal since the early ‘90s, Defiled aren’t relics or custodians for the old-school. The Japanese legends have shared stages with Morbid Angel, Mayhem and Cannibal Corpse, but, historically, they’ve carved their own singular path through metal’s hallowed crypts. Their upcoming ninth album continues to alter the genre in unthinkable ways. On Altered State, they deliver a dizzying blast of death metal straight from the future.

Today, Defiled are releasing a music video for the third and final advanced single from Altered State. While upholding death metal’s raw speed, the title track from the band’s new album upends all conventions at every twist and turn.

“This song showcases our core identity”, Defiled guitarist and founding member Yusuke Sumita says. “The tempo shifts lean more toward progressive or fusion methodologies than traditional death metal, creating a dramatic, thrilling atmosphere that defies monotony”.

Jah Wobble & Tian Qiyi announce 'Mystic Liverpool' album, a psychedelic reimagining of The Beatles, out August 14th

Iconic bassist and producer Jah Wobble has teamed up with his sons' ethno-psychedelic duo Tian Qiyi on the fascinating new album 'Mystic Liverpool: The Beatles' Psychedelic Psongbook', a deeply personal reimagining of The Beatles’ psychedelic period. Framing these songs within a soundscape of Chinese, Mongolian and dub traditions, this album is out on August 14th via Cherry Red Records.

John Wardle, a.k.a. Jah Wobble is a founding member of Public Image Ltd (PiL) and formed Invaders of the Heart in 1982. In his nearly 50-year career, he has had chart success, a Mercury Music Prize nomination and a rich discography via his label 30 Hertz. He has collaborated with Can's Holger CzukayJaki LiebezeitU2's The Edge and producer François Kevorkian, in addition to Sinéad O’Connor, Massive Attack, Ginger Baker, Björk, Brian Eno, Pharoah Sanders and, most recently, Horace Andy on his 'Timeless Roots' album, Ken Boothe on his 'Old Fashioned Ways' album, and Jon Klein on the 'Automated Paradise' album.

Tian Qiyi is a duo made up of John T Wardle and Charlie Wardle, taking its name from their Chinese middle names, Tian Qi and Tian Yi. Based in Liverpool, the duo bridges British, Chinese, Mongolian and dub traditions, their fascinating ethno-psychedelic music bridging cultures to forge a sound that also weaves in post-punk and experimental production, their sound imbued with magnetic tension between ancient tradition and dub futurism, East and West, land and spirit.

The album draws largely on Jah Wobble’s signature dub bass, John T’s drums, Chinese percussion and yangqin, and Charlie’s erhu and vocals. Their clever rendition of “Strawberry Fields Forever” also sees Charlie playing morin khuur with the boys' mother Zi Lan Liao — a Royal Academy of Music–trained harpist and the most recognized gu-zheng performer worldwide — joining on gu-zheng.

Rough Trade CD pre-order  www.roughtrade.com/en-us/artist/jah-wobble-and-tian-qiyi-mystic-liverpool

Jointly produced by Jah Wobble, John T and Charlie, this album was recorded and mixed by John T at Pagoda Studios in Liverpool. But the Liverpool connection runs even deeper through their family. Zi Lan’s father, Mr K.H. Li (Liao Gui Xiong), arrived from Guangzhou in 1981 as Chinese Cultural Officer at the Pagoda and went on to establish the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra — the ensemble Zi Lan (now also director of Pagoda Arts Centre) runs and that both her sons grew up playing in from the age of three. The record is dedicated to him; a lifelong Beatles fan, he owned everything they ever released on vinyl.

“The track that flipped it for me as a kid was ‘Strawberry Fields Forever,’” says Jah Wobble. “I didn’t have the language for what was going on in that song — I just knew it was more than music. The words you’d reach for are the ones people use about psychedelia: ego dissolution, a sense of unity, cosmic connection. I consider dub music to fit into the psychedelia genre, and John T grew up listening to dub, so Mystic Liverpool was always going to have that sensibility.”

The album moves through The Beatles’ psychedelic-era songbook with Chinese instrumentation and dub-inflected mixing, treating the material as the genuinely mystical music it always was rather than as nostalgic covers. As listeners will be pleased to discover, "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "Magical Mystery Tour" are particular touchstones.

On August 14th, the 'Mystic Liverpool' album will be released as a CD Digipack and digitally via Cherry Red Records. It is now available for pre-order.  Jah Wobble is touring the UK throughout 2026 with The Invaders Of The Heart - tickets are available at https://jahwobble.com/#live

GORGONAUT Explore Chaos And Disorder In The New Offering "Infinite Regress", Announces EP Ayame

As GORGONAUT prepares to unveil the forthcoming EP Ayame on October 16, 2026, "Infinite Regress" provides a further insight into the textural sonic world building by the Chicago-based solo project.

"Infinite Regress" is the opening offering on the upcoming release and encapsulates the central direction of the EP. Composed with intentional chaos, the instrumental textures and arrangements disorientate with jarring sounds and sudden rhythmic shifts. It evokes a sense of uncertainty and intrigue as to what awaits next.

Musically, the single embodies a loss of control and escalating tension. Aggressive passages alternate with pacified sections in a desperation to make sense of an irrational realm. Opening with chromatic guitar lines, a sense of strain and panic manifests through the music and it repeats in varying forms across the track. Ferocious heavy rhythms and harsh vocals are contrasted with softer moments.

GORGONAUT and the forthcoming EP arose from a desire to continue writing, creating and producing music alongside major life changes. Ayame delves into introspective themes, obsession, loss of control but also of taking future success into one's own hands.

Ayame was produced, mixed and mastered by Ryan Bruchert at Biffco Studios. The EP cover artwork was created by artist Darius Puia @instagram.bakaarts.

About GORGONAUT:

Created by multi-instrumentalist Ryan Bruchert, known for work with BLACK SITES, HEWHOCORRUPTS, TRIALS, CENTAURUS, GORGONAUT serves as a focused creative platform unrestricted by stylistic boundaries. The project combines heavy guitar driven songwriting with electronic textures, atmospheric layering, and digital influences drawn from both metal and contemporary electronic music.

Drawing influence from artists such as DEVIN TOWNSEND, VOLA, VOYAGER, MOON TOOTH, DREAM THEATER, and THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE, GORGONAUT continues to explore the intersection of metal, electronic composition, and immersive sound design while pursuing a distinctly personal creative direction.

New Release From PLUME

PLUME SHARE "ANGEL ENGINE" VIDEO.

SAFEROOMS & HEALING FREQUENCIES OUT SEPTEMBER 25

With "Angel Engine," rising alternative heavy act PLUME dive deep into paranoia, fractured memories and the desperate search for something to hold onto in the middle of emotional collapse. Blending dark emo and metalcore with hyperpop tension, trance-like build ups and massive modern production, the track creates a hypnotic atmosphere that feels both haunting and strangely euphoric.

Driven by eerie imagery and emotionally charged songwriting, "Angel Engine" explores themes of control, fear and the blurred line between salvation and destruction. Lyrics about watching eyes, shifting realities and fading identity paint the picture of a mind slowly unraveling, while the recurring plea for guidance from angelic figures like Uriel and Cassiel adds an almost spiritual weight to the song’s emotional core. Rather than offering clarity, PLUME embrace the chaos — transforming anxiety and vulnerability into something cinematic, immersive and impossible to look away from.

As the tension builds through shimmering electronics, crushing guitars and restless rhythms, the track erupts into a massive, unforgettable chorus carried by stunning vocal performances that linger long after the song ends. Equal parts intimate and explosive, "Angel Engine" perfectly captures PLUME's ability to merge emotional heaviness with forward-thinking alternative production.

At the same time, PLUME officially announce their upcoming album Saferooms & Healing Frequencies, set for release on September 25.

With "Angel Engine" serving as a powerful glimpse into the record's emotional and sonic world, the band also launch the album's pre-order starting now.

With rapidly growing streaming numbers and increasing buzz throughout alternative and heavy music scenes, PLUME continue to establish themselves as one of the most exciting new acts pushing modern heavy music into bold new territory. "Angel Engine" is dark, hypnotic, and emotionally overwhelming — a modern anthem built to stay stuck in your head long after the final chorus fades.

Lost In Kyiv Share "Becoming" (Feat. Rebecca Need-Menear of i Häxa, Anavae)

French post-metal band Lost In Kyiv have unveiled their new single "Becoming," featuring haunting guest vocals from Rebecca Need-Menear (i HäxaAnavae). This is the third single released from their new album We're All Going To Be Fine, out June 19 via Pelagic Records.

Watch the video for "Becoming" Below.

Stream and pre-save here.

Tenderness and tension move together as the rising intricacies of electronica and acoustic instrumentation constantly build, support and evolve. Poetry, harmony, heavy peaks and atmospheric passages are sculpted with precision and patience, constantly redefining the energy of the piece whilst keeping the emotional centre, solicitude, a depth of empathetic feeling that permeates "Becoming."

The band comments on the single, "If the album explores the tension between hope and inner collapse, 'Becoming' is the moment the glass shatters and your eyes finally open. It is our most atmospheric and melodic song on the album, elevated by our first-ever collaboration with a female singer. Rebecca Need-Menear perfectly embodies this fragile state between dreaming and living."

Over the course of more than a decade, Lost In Kyiv have refined a sound that fuses cinematic ambition, electronic precision, and visceral live energy into something unmistakably their own. With their new album, We're All Going To Be Fine, they push that identity further than ever; sharpening their production, intensifying their dynamics, and embracing a darker, more immersive sonic architecture.

Lost In Kyiv comment, "We're All Going To Be Fine explores the tension between hope and inner collapse, and how modern life can disconnect us from ourselves and each other. The songs were inspired by personal experiences, societal pressure, and the idea that we often become our own worst enemy. We were also inspired by the work of Carl Gustav Jung (who is the voice at the end of the album), especially his ideas about exploring the human psyche, as well as themes from movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Melancholia."

Lost in Kyiv's music has always thrived on tension between the organic and the synthetic. On We're All Going To Be Fine, that integration reaches a new level of clarity and depth. The writing and production process was long and exacting, allowing the band to refine every transition and tonal detail. Songs unfold with architectural precision, motifs are introduced subtly before expanding into vast, multi-layered climaxes. Dynamics are handled with patience and control, silence and minimalism are deployed as strategically as explosive crescendos. This careful pacing gives the album a cinematic flow and larger narrative in which struggle and compassion coexist.

Guitars surge and recede in wide, panoramic arcs. At moments they shimmer and support, at others they thrash violently, accumulating layers of distortion and harmonic overtones. Acoustic instrumentation is interwoven with sequenced synth lines, pulsing arpeggiators, and carefully sculpted electronic textures that give the band's sound a sense of forward propulsion.

Lost in Kyiv continue, "We always wanted to write music around strong themes, and for the first time, we decided to focus on something more internal than on previous albums. Our last four albums, except maybe Nuit Noire, were more about broader and more general themes. This time, we wanted to explore the fragility of mental health and the human psyche, the relation we have with ourself."

NONPOINT Announce 'The Even More.. Outta Control Tour' New Single “IS IT” Available NOW on all DSP's

Nonpoint have announced a new tour in support of their hard-hitting new single “Is It,” that is now available on all major digital streaming platforms. The single was #1 most added last week and is currently in the Top 50 Media Base Charts. Known for their relentless energy, uncompromising sound, and undeniable live presence, the band continues to push forward with new music that captures the raw intensity fans have come to expect.

NONPOINT will be performing new material from their forthcoming album, giving fans an early taste of what’s next from the band while continuing to deliver the sound that has defined their career.

“Is It” serves as the first release from Nonpoint’s upcoming full-length album The Last Word, arriving in late summer 2026. Both the band and 361 Degrees Records are positioning this track as the opening statement of a new era, setting the tone for the album's themes and energy of the new record.

"In a world that sometimes wants to put a timestamp on creativity, The Last Word is our way of saying we’re just getting started. We’re pushing back against expectation and pushing forward into our own next chapter.”

Elias goes on to explain the concepts behind the song "Is It."

“‘Is It’ is that internal conflict where you question getting too involved? Did I push too hard? Did I ask too much? It’s that feeling of wondering if doing what you thought was right actually meant hurting the people around you.”

Elias explains the bold concept behind his design imagery on the cover.

"This album cover tells a piece of our story. After years of making music, we feel more aligned than ever—musically, visually, and creatively. We’re writing some of the strongest material of our career, our live shows are as powerful as they’ve ever been, and the band feels focused and energized. The pencil on the cover represents what it’s like to be handed one last tool and expected to fit everything you have left to say into it. Not because the ideas are gone, but because longevity often comes with assumptions and limits. The Last Word isn’t about accepting an ending. It’s about challenging that narrative. If this is the pencil we’re being handed, we’re going to use it—and make sure the words written with it still matter."

STORMHAMMER Reveal Music Video for Title Track of Upcoming Studio Album Wrath Of The Hammer

German power metal force STORMHAMMER have released the official music video for their brand-new single “Wrath Of The Hammer”, the title track of the band’s upcoming studio offering.

The album will be released on July 17 via ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. Pre-orders have just started at: https://stormhammer.rpm.link/wrathalbumPR

With “Wrath Of The Hammer”, STORMHAMMER deliver a powerful first glimpse of their forthcoming album and once again prove why they remain one of the most consistent and exciting acts in the European power metal scene. The title track combines massive riffs, epic melodies and the band’s unmistakable energy into a modern metal anthem rooted in classic heavy metal spirit.

Phil Meyer (guitar, backing vocals) comments:
“Tracks like Wrath of the Hammer perfectly represent the album’s direction — aggressive downstrokes, fast power chords and epic melodic moments coming together in a very classic yet modern Heavy Metal way.”

Drummer Ashley Guest confirms: “Wrath of the Hammer maintains the spirit of classic StormHammer while pushing the sound forward with a sharper and more aggressive edge.”

Stream “Wrath Of The Hammer” below :

Following the acclaimed album Seven Seals, STORMHAMMER open a new chapter with Wrath Of The Hammer. The album combines traditional heavy metal roots with thrash-driven guitars, epic melodies and progressive elements while staying true to the band’s unmistakable identity.

“Wrath of the Hammer reflects all generations of Heavy Metal," Phil Meyer says."The old school, the melodic, the anthemic and the modern. That’s exactly who StormHammer are as a band today. We didn’t want the album to be purely melodic power metal. StormHammer has always had a more raw side, and we wanted to push that further by bringing in thrash elements, modern metal and even some ’90s punk roots without losing the band’s heavy metal identity.”

Vocalist M.Nox adds: “We went into this album with the idea that we didn’t want to play it safe. We mixed in elements of Thrash, Symphonic and Classic Metal while keeping it true to StormHammer’s Power Metal roots. With this album, you will hear StormHammer in a way you have not heard before.”

Recorded at Mastersound Studio with producer Alexander Krull, the album delivers a massive production, atmospheric arrangements and renewed creative energy throughout, showcasing a band that continues to evolve while remaining a vital force in modern power metal!

Horst Tessmann (bass, backing vocals) reveals:
“Recording with Alex Krull was fantastic because we shared the same vision for how these songs should sound. He delivered a powerful and outstanding production. Wrath of the Hammer combines traditional Power Metal with Thrash Metal elements in a way that feels natural and energetic. The older I get, the faster and heavier I want the music to be.”

“This album feels honest and alive," guitarist Christos Efstathiou states. "We challenged ourselves creatively while staying true to what StormHammer is about. There’s power, emotion and adventure in these songs.”

About STORMHAMMER:
German power metal band STORMHAMMER have established themselves as a powerful force within the European metal scene for many years. Combining traditional heavy metal intensity with melodic power metal energy and epic songwriting, the band has created a distinctive sound that continues to resonate with fans worldwide.

Throughout their career, STORMHAMMER have continuously evolved their sound while remaining true to their roots. Their music blends aggressive guitar work, soaring melodies and powerful rhythms with atmospheric songwriting and modern production. With “Wrath Of The Hammer”, the band once again underlines their status as one of Germany’s most important and enduring power metal acts.

Japanese Horror Inspired USBM Duo SAIDAN Unleashes New Single, "Ethereal Blood," Announces U.S. Tour

Japanese horror-inspired USBM outfit SAIDAN will be releasing its highly anticipated fourth LP, 'FANGDRILLER: Scars Beneath Memory's Wrist,' on June 19 via Avantgarde Music! The band is now unveiling the cinematic new single, "Ethereal Blood," along with a music video, which can be found below.

A prequel to 2023's 'Visual Kill,' 'FANGDRILLER' follows The Student (Junko) as she tries to heal her fractured heart. Haunted by wistful solitude, her isolation makes her the perfect victim for a mysterious cult known as Ethereal Blood.

SAIDAN vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Splatterpvnk comments, "'Ethereal Blood' is an essential part of the conceptual identity of 'Fangdriller.' Whereas many of the other songs on the album use metaphorical imagery to explain where I was emotionally at the time, 'Ethereal Blood' is a perverse initiation into something seemingly pure, yet shrouded in violent isolation."

While lyrically dealing with topics of depression, heartbreak, loss, and loneliness, the album is musically inspired by the lo-fi nature of classic Visual Kei and gothic black metal. Saidan strives to deliver an album that sounds nostalgic for an era of music that doesn’t exist. Blistering solos, deranged vocals, anthemic-riffage, and diabolical drumming are slammed together with doses of modern breakcore and wrapped in a black metal bow, garnering a feeling of familiarity while offering something that’s boldly unique.

Pre-orders can be found HERE.

Moreover, SAIDAN will be embarking on a U.S. tour in support of prolific atmospheric black metal band Trhä along with Barbelith. The trek will kick off on July 23 in Indianapolis, IN and will lay waste through the East Coast and parts of the midwest until the final stop on August 8 in Charlotte, NC. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

SAIDAN U.S. Tour Dates (Supporting Trhä w/ Barbelith):

In the neverending quest of supporting young and boundary-pushing bands from the underground around the world, Avantgarde Music is proud to announce their collaboration with Saidan, a Japanese horror-themed black metal band from Nashville, TN.

Spawning from tragedy in 2020, Saidan rapidly released a string of demos and splits that caused a stir in the underground Black Metal scene. With their anthem-like riffage, violent imagery, deranged vocal delivery, and heavy metal flair, Saidan has risen above their contemporaries and stood out in a bustling USBM scene. In five short years, Saidan has gone on to release three LPs: 'Jigoku: Spiraling Chasms of the Blackest Hell' (2021), 'Onryō II: Her Spirit Eternal' (2022), and 'Visual Kill: The Blossoming of Psychotic Depravity' (2024), all to critical success. The band's latest offering, 'FANGDRILLER: Scars Beneath Memory's Wrist,' will be arriving on June 19, 2026 exclusively through Avantgarde Music.

'Fangdriller' is the fourth studio album born from the minds of multi-instrumentalist Splatterpvnk and drummer Hundosai, a new chapter in the narrative concept that links together all Saidan releases. A prequel to 2023's 'Visual Kill,' 'FANGDRILLER' follows The Student (Junko) as she tries to heal her fractured heart. Haunted by wistful solitude, her isolation makes her the perfect victim for a mysterious cult known as Ethereal Blood.

While lyrically dealing with topics of depression, heartbreak, loss, and loneliness, the album is musically inspired by the lo-fi nature of classic Visual Kei and gothic black metal. Blistering solos, deranged vocals, anthemic-riffage, and diabolical drumming are slammed together with doses of modern breakcore and wrapped in a black metal bow, garnering a feeling of familiarity while offering something that’s boldly unique.

'Fangdriller' was mixed and mastered by Splatterpvnk and once again comes with a cover art by Japanese visual artist Seiyak17.

gracie Shares New Single "Hot Air Balloon

Tooth & Nail Records recently welcomed gracie to the roster! She will release her new album Miss Misfortunately on June 26. Pre-order it here

She now shares the visualizer for new single "Hot Air Balloon." Watch the visualizer below.

The song boasts a gorgeous and strolling, '50s-style waltz, all wrapped in gracie's shimmering vocals.

"'Hot Air Ballon' is my big finale — it's the bow on the present," says gracie. "It's my 'finally happy' song, amidst a sea of depression. I made it out on the other side."

gracie pens songs out of deep necessity. Her music holds the kind of truth usually only reserved for late-night conversations between lifelong friends. No subject is off the table. Instead, songwriting turns the key to unlock her heart, letting unfiltered feelings and raw recollections spill out on tape. She projects these emotions against a backdrop of artful alternative pop spiked with rock grit and indie intentionality. Embracing her most formative inspirations and pulling no punches, gracie steps into who she always endeavored to be as an artist.

"I'm not making music because I want to be successful; I'm making music because I have to," she affirms. "I need to tell an authentic story. Sonically, it's a collection of everything that’s influenced me. I'm ready to express so many thoughts I hadn’t been given permission to express before. The record is about being human, laughing at yourself, telling scary stories, and holding nothing back. It's who I am as an artist."

As a kid, music surrounded gracie. At five-years-old, she regularly performed home concerts for her family. She graduated from listening to Camp Rock and High School Musical to Céline Dion, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston and the likes. Along the way, she honed her voice through vocal lessons and filled journals with original songs. Watching a Taylor Swift thanksgiving special marked a pivotal turning point though. Within 15 minutes afterwards, she had crafted a song "Be Mine"—impressing her parents so much they burned it to CDs and she sold it to family and friends. By middle school, she had found herself on regular writing trips to Los Angeles, gaining invaluable experience. Simultaneously, her palette diversified and she obsessed over favorite bands, including Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Sleeping with Sirens, Pierce the Veil, and State Champs.

Not long after getting married, the music told her where to go next. She had always wanted to address the aftershocks of a past brutal breakup, but she never had the forum to properly do so until now.

"This breakup was monumental in my life, and I held onto these ideas for years," she admits. "I had gotten with a new team in 2025, and everybody backed my vision. I decided to go back to how I felt and close the chapter of the story."

Throughout 2025, gracie collaborated closely with producer Austin Davis at his Nashville studio. Bonding over a mutual passion for early 2000's rock bands, they built a solid musical foundation and began working on Gracie's forthcoming album together.

Ultimately, though, gracie's songs might just mirror how you feel.

"Music has gotten me out of so many dark places in my life," she states.  "No matter the situation you're in, I hope to give you whatever you need, whether it’s healing, growth, or self-reflection...Maybe you'll see a part of yourself in it and feel less alone."

SERPENT LORD Unveils New Single, "A Pagan's Spell"

Solo pagan black metal project SERPENT LORD will be releasing its debut album, 'The Once Forgotten Ways of Old,' on May 29, 2026 via Eisenwald Records. The project is now releasing another haunting new single from the offering, "A Pagan's Spell," which can be found below.

Impure Wilhelmina Premiere 'Le Sanglot'

IMPURE WILHELMINA are premiering the full album stream for their new album Le Sanglot. The veteran post-hardcore band’s ninth album arrives as their most radical transformation yet. Le Sanglot comes out tomorrow, Friday, May 22 on Season of Mist, but you can hear all 10 vibrant songs today by listening to the full album stream below.

Conceived as the sonic equivalent of weeping, Le sanglot surveys a fractured world with surgical coldness, yet never forecloses on the possibility of grace. Impure Wilhelmina moves between crushing weight and melodic restraint, from the cathartic surge of opening track "Électricité noire" to the fragile radiance of closer "À jamais radieuse," with the French language sharpening both the imagery and the emotional register throughout. The album introduces  the band’s new guitarist Edouard Nicod, whose arrangements broaden the band’s textural scope. It  features a collaboration with French artist Mütterlein on "Train mort" the album’s most abrasive song.

Fans can watch the official music video for "PIRATES” ft. GHOSTEMANE which stars XCOMM, Ghostemane and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise Below and stream the track HERE. Time To Burn will be available on streaming platforms this evening at 9pm PT/12am ET HERE

Produced by Ross Robinson, the architect behind era-defining records from Korn, Slipknot, Glassjaw, At The Drive-In, The Cure and more, Time To Burn perfectly crystalizes the essence of XCOMM - young, loud, funny, furious and swinging for the fences. With a level of craft rarely so expertly honed this early in a band’s career, XCOMM have delivered a once-in-a-generation debut that bottles the raw charge of a new wave powered by defiance, authenticity and unbridled talent.

“PIRATES" ft. GHOSTEMANE brings XCOMM’s feral hardcore velocity into direct contact with GHOSTEMANE’s ominously powerful presence. The accompanying video, directed by Darren Craig, also features GHOSTEMANE and Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, throwing the band’s chaos into a visual world of police chases and ruined suburban picnics.

Frontman Michael Gatto shares:

“Im so excited for the world to finally hear this record! Every little bit of writing to preproduction to actually being in the studio recording with Ross was amazing. We’ve got a lot of shows and new music to come. This is just the beginning!

Shooting the Pirates music video was great, Darren Craig killed it and Ross chewed up a pickle and spit it all over my shoes for the video - homemade relish. The video captures the intensity that the song was written about. And having Ghostemane feature on the track was mind-blowing.”

Drummer, Revel Ian shares

“Working on this record with Ross Robinson was the most cathartic experience I’ve ever had. There were no limits to what we could be or do. Playing our instruments was like breathing; you didn’t have to think it was just there; it was like an extension of our being. This record is what I’ve always wanted to do my entire life.”

For a band still at the beginning of their story, XCOMM have already ascended with the kind of velocity most new acts spend years trying to manufacture. Their breakout run has included early singles Fake ID,” “Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing and Borrowed Happiness, with Fake ID alone surpassing 2.5 million views across platforms and helping fuel the band’s rapid climb to nearly 90,000 Instagram followers.

That momentum has carried from screens into real rooms. XCOMM have already supported Foo Fighters at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, played The Punk Rock Museum’s 3rd Anniversary Parking Lot Show in Las Vegas, appeared at California Chaos Festival with Militarie Gun, and are set for major upcoming performances at Bumbershoot Festival, supporting Dethklok at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on May 22 and Observatory North Park in San Diego on May 28, plus appearances at Warped Tour in Washington, D.C. and Long Beach.

Their widening orbit is matched by a startling list of high-profile early supporters, including Mike Patton, Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down, Brann Dailor of Mastodon, Phil Anselmo, Leland Sklar, Dave Lombardo, Roy Mayorga, Jerry Cantrell, Jack Black, Dave Grohl, Keanu Reeves, Toby Morse, Kevin Lyman, Ghostemane, Skrillex, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, Ben Shepherd, Elle King, Fletcher Dragge of Pennywise, Jakob Nowell, Tony Hawk, The Blood Brothers, Guy Picciotto, Ross Robinson and Sid Wilson.

Robinson first encountered the band in a small club, where their impact was immediate.

“I first saw them at a small club and caught myself laughing out loud as they blasted through their set. For me, that’s an instant “yes”. That youth needed to be captured - raw and fast. Luckily they’re way more cool and talented than I could’ve hoped! “The future is absolutely unlimited for these kids. I can see them inspiring their generation to play music with an unfiltered fire - 100% real instruments with authentic expression of feeling- embracing the imperfection of being a human. An Anti-AI movement.“

This sense of unfiltered youth runs through every corner of Time To Burn. Across eleven tracks, XCOMM turn frustration, boredom, impulse, anger and absurdity into short, sharp shocks of hardcore clarity, simultaneously honoring the hardcore punk lineage that came before them, whilst also adding fresh and invigorating elements pulled from inspirations like David Lynch movies. Songs like their breakout single, Fake ID channel the real-life irritation of being turned away from shows for being under 21 into a snotty anthem of refusal, while Hot Pursuit / One And Nothing stretches the band’s range from frantic confrontation into darker, more atmospheric pressure.

For Fletcher Dragge, the band’s appeal is direct, immediate and deeply rooted in what punk is supposed to feel like.

“I was immediately caught by the simple but hooky, straightforward, guitar, riff, and ripping drums holding it down! I was sold immediately. Good old school punk rock the way it’s supposed to be written and delivered! Not only are these guys delivering exactly what I love to hear. They’re fucking young as shit.!! Super stoked to see the next generation of punk rock coming to life, the future looks bright and I’m 100% in.

These kids are earning everything they have achieved, 100 percent on their own. Trust me when I say these kids were born to be punkers.”

XCOMM are Michael Gatto on vocals/guitar, Revel Ian on drums, Adan Escoto on bass and Hunter Grogan on DJ/sampler. Together, they make punk rock that feels visceral before it feels fashionable. No borrowed attitude. Just the sharp, unruly sound of a young band kicking open the door while everyone else is still deciding whether they’re allowed in the room.
