Daughtry Announce SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM DELUXE Album

Multi-GRAMMY® Award-nominated, multi-platinum rock powerhouse Daughtry has announced SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM DELUXE today. The deluxe release brings together the full scope of the band’s acclaimed two-part project, SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART 1) and SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART 2), alongside additional live recordings that capture the visceral force, catharsis, and connection that have defined this latest era of Daughtry. The deluxe release will arrive on vinyl only on June 5th via Big Machine Rock with three variants available from daughtryofficial.store. All of which are a double LP, two of which are very limited edition with only 250 available of each.

Across the SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM collection, Chris Daughtry channels grief, change, confrontation, and self-reclamation into some of the band’s heaviest and most emotionally charged work to date. From the industrial bite of “ARTIFICIAL” and the raw release of “PIECES,” to the hard-earned resilience of “THE BOTTOM” and the stark vulnerability of “ANTIDOTE,SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (DELUXE) traces the full arc of a person forced to face the wreckage, sit with the aftermath, and find the strength to move through it.

Daughtry first launched this era with SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART ONE), the band’s debut release with Big Machine Rock, which featured their back-to-back No. 1 singles “ARTIFICIAL” and “PIECES.” The EP marked a heavier, more unguarded creative chapter for the band, pairing amplified production with Chris Daughtry’s commanding vocals and an emotional throughline rooted in grief, healing, and the hard-won courage to say the quiet parts out loud.

With SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART TWO), Daughtry pushed that evolution even further. The EP arrived as a hard-hitting and deeply personal body of work about the wake-up calls that force real change, featuring “THE SEEDS,” “DIVIDED,” “THE DAY I DIE,” “THE BOTTOM,” “TERRIFIED,” “RAZOR,” and “ANTIDOTE.” Speaking on the release, Chris previously shared, “This EP is ultimately about facing the things we’ve ignored within ourselves and confronting the wake-up calls that force us to go deeper. These songs unlocked something very real, honest, and visceral in me as a writer and as a human being.

Now, SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (DELUXE) presents the complete picture. The live recordings add another layer, pulling the songs out of the studio and into the charged space between band and audience.

The deluxe album follows a landmark run for Daughtry, including their first-ever No. 1 at Active Rock with “ARTIFICIAL,” another No. 1 with “PIECES,” major touring alongside Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Creed, Disturbed, and Seether, and continued praise for the heavier, fearless direction of their current era.

SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (DELUXE) arrives on vinyl on June 5 via Big Machine Rock and available from daughtryofficial.store

New Jersey's Deardarkhead presents 'Letting Go' feat. Joe McGinty, first taste of 'The Pendulum Swings', first full-length album in 26 years

New Jersey alt-rock dreampop outfit Deardarkhead presents their new single 'Letting Go', the first taste of 'The Pendulum Swings', an instrumental anthem built around soaring guitar leads and melodic bass hooks. A piece about growth and change, centered on releasing old patterns and embracing new directions, the track features keyboardist Joe McGinty, known for his work with The Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf, Ryan Adams and Deborah Harry, adding atmosphere and texture.

Now made up of guitarist Kevin Harrington, drummer Robert Weiss and bassist James Malizia, who, in August 2024, took over from Brandon Howard, who recorded bass on this album. Deardarkhead has built a distinctive identity since the departure of vocalist-bassist Michael Amper in 2009, shifting fully into instrumental composition where melody and texture take the place of vocals.

With many notable milestones over their nearly four decades, including shows with the likes of Supergrass, The Psychedelic Furs, Everclear, Nothing and The Lilys, the new album captures an ever-evolving band, refining their voice through texture, atmosphere, and emotional momentum.

Taking their name from the 1867 Irish poem “Cean Dubh Dilis” by Samuel Ferguson -- a work about a beautiful dark-haired girl -- Deardarkhead was formed in 1988 in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area. Their identity rooted as much in mood as in melody, their music blends atmospheric dreampop, shoegaze shimmer and ethereal rock, unfolding as an original, guitar-driven psychedelic tightrope walk balancing moody textures and shimmering melodies.

“This first single 'Letting Go' is a song about growth. It’s a song about change. Letting go of old ways. It’s about taking a new direction and knowing that it’s going to be right," says Kevin Harrington.

Rob Weiss adds, "This started out as a piano piece by guitarist Kevin Harrington and quickly grew into a full blown anthem with soaring guitar leads and melodic bass hooks. In demand keyboardist Joe McGinty and fellow South New Jerseyan provided backing keyboard tracks for the song."

Deardarkhead's sixth recording and second full-length album, 'The Pendulum Swings' captures a period of renewed experimentation and refinement. Recorded at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, they worked with producers Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten) and Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Blonde Redhead, Beach House, M83, Wild Nothing).

This album moves through shifting moods ranging from soaring, psychedelic-tinged guitar anthems to driving post-punk rhythms and more ambient, abstract passages. The result is a dynamic and cohesive work that highlights the band’s signature blend of shimmering guitars, pulsing bass, and powerful percussion. The band pushes the envelope with their instrumental approach, using drum loops, unusual time signatures, ebow, bass VI, and expanded guitar layering.

To date, Deardarkhead has released five recordings on their own Fertile Crescent Records, their music also featured on numerous US and Japanese indie compilations, beginning with 1998 debut album 'Unlock the Valves of Feeling'. In 2011, Captured Tracks released 'Oceanside: 1991-1993', a retrospective of their early material as the second contribution to their Shoegaze Archives series. They then joined iconic label Saint Marie Records in 2015, releasing their critically-acclaimed 'Strange Weather' EPwith them in 2016.

'Letting Go' is out now, available from music platforms, including SpotifyApple Musicand Bandcamp. Now available for pre-order, 'The Pendulum Swings' album will be released on CD, digitally, and on 180-gram vinyl on July 10.

Thrash Legends Flotsam and Jetsam Announce New Album Out 8/28!

Can you hear them gnawing? They're almost through the walls!

American thrash metal pioneers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM are gearing up to unleash their explosive Napalm Records debut album Rats In The Temple, on August 28.

The legends from Arizona have been a fixture of the metal scene for the better part of the last four decades. With modern renaissance records like The End of Chaos (2019), and I Am the Weapon (2024), capturing the glory of their inceptional material, the Kerrang! championed classic Doomsday for the Deceiver (1986) and No Place for Disgrace (1988), it's no wonder they're still raising hell for their throngs of dedicated fans along festival circuits internationally!

Rats In The Temple lunges out full force with 13 rabid onslaughts of ornate guitarmonies, pummeling double bass kicks, hypnotic bass grooves, and exalted front man Eric A.K. Knutson’s unmistakably haunting wail. As the temple is besieged by vermin, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM line the walls with grim tales of death, abuse, betrayal, and war, inviting listeners into a dark world not too distant from our own.

Front man Eric A.K. Knutson said about the album:
"This record is a BEAST, truly our best effort to date!! Do yourself a favor. Dim the lights, grab a drink, put the headphones on, and crank this up. You will not be sorry you did!!!"

From Sold-Out Tours to Charting Success, THE HOWLERS Return with a Dark New Chapter

After returning in 2025 with the singles “Nightcrawling” and “You Can Be So Cruel,” and signing with indie label FLG, London indie rockers THE HOWLERS are back with their new single “Viper.” The newest offering comes alongside the announcement of their second album, ‘Heavy,’ due out on October 9th — a bold, visceral statement of intent as the band enters their most defining chapter yet.

Driven by pulsing riffs, a relentless rhythm section, and raw, urgent energy, “Viper” captures THE HOWLERS at their most immediate — indie rock ’n’ roll rooted in tension, desire, and consequence. It sets the tone for ‘Heavy,’ a record that sees frontman Adam Young push his songwriting into darker, more impulsive territory.

'Viper' speaks to an experience of being totally drawn towards someone even though you can see the red flags — the desire for all of us to willingly make bad decisions for the thrill of what comes next, regardless of consequences,” says Young. “You’re lost in the moment together. But no matter how much you kid yourself into believing the Bonnie & Clyde fantasy, they will always cause you pain in the end.”

Watch the Official Video for "Viper" Below:

Following a period of transition at the end of 2024, THE HOWLERS entered a new phase, with frontman Adam Young rebuilding the project as a two-piece alongside drummer Toby Richards — a shift that redefined both the band’s sound and creative direction, bringing a renewed sense of focus and identity.

That reset came off the back of a breakthrough year. Their self-funded debut album ‘What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All’ landed to widespread European acclaim, breaking into the UK Independent Breakers Charts Top 10 while securing multiple positions across independent, vinyl and physical sales charts. Radio support followed from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Absolute Radio, alongside international backing and editorial playlisting across Apple Music and Spotify.

That momentum translated directly to the stage. A sold-out 18-date UK headline tour established the band as one of the country’s most exciting live acts, followed by a European run that saw them sell out shows across eight countries — road-testing new material that would ultimately shape what came next.

Where that debut was defined by grief and personal loss, ‘Heavy’ emerges from a very different place. Driven by the tension between desire and consequence, recklessness and reality, it’s an album lit by the pull of the night, the thrill of impulse and the cold clarity that follows.

Written and produced alongside long-time collaborator Chris Ostler (Black Honey), the record deliberately sidesteps traditional studio methods. Instead, it was built remotely — with demos, ideas and reworked compositions exchanged across digital platforms — stripping everything back while pushing each track to its strongest form. Only in the final stages did the band enter rehearsal spaces to capture live drums, grounding its more experimental edges with a raw, physical energy.

Young adds:

This album is those late night experiences, the after dark conversations, late night phone calls, the seductive nature of impulsiveness that seems so alluring and losing yourself in the addictive nature of recklessness — but it’s also the mirror in the morning, the wake up call, and the harsh reality of knowing those feelings won’t always last. It’s the moment you find yourself again.

Pre-Order 'Heavy' HERE

For a band that has always worn its honesty as a badge of honour — and built a fiercely loyal following on the back of it — ‘Heavy’ feels like the album THE HOWLERS were always moving towards. With an extensive UK and European headline tour to follow, 2026 is shaping up to be the year they fully arrive.

German Symphonic Metal Icons XANDRIA Announce New Album "Eclipse" + Share New Video

Chart-topping German symphonic metal icons XANDRIA will release their new studio album, Eclipse, on August 7 via Napalm Records. The upcoming full-length features eleven tracks that represent the most diverse body of work in the band’s discography so far: every song has its own identity — a journey full of discoveries — yet they all belong to the same world. Classic, '80s-inspired metal riffs stand alongside low-tuned modern metal guitars; cinematic orchestral sounds meet Celtic folk influences, and dark electronic elements blend with intimate rock moments, even including a guitar solo that owes more to Pink Floyd than to any metal genre.

With "The Shannon’s Home," XANDRIA unveils the first offering cut from the upcoming record. The song weaves dreamlike melodies, cinematic opulence, and folk elements, all driven by the soaring vocals of Ambre Vourvahis. Both intimate and epic, XANDRIA once again prove that they belong among the leading acts in the scene! "The Shannon’s Home" is now available on all streaming services worldwide and comes with an official music video that can be seen below.

Band mastermind Marco Heubaum comments on "The Shannon's Home":
"A song like a beautiful, slightly dark fairytale — which makes sense, as it is an analogy of life, pictured as the river Shannon, flowing from its source to the sea. And just one of the many colorful facets of our new album, which will be a journey full of diverse elements and surprises. We felt this song had a mysterious magic that captured our hearts from the very beginning. In fact, it was the first song we wrote for this next voyage of wonders — so we instantly knew this was the first song we wanted you all to hear. For all you wonderful people out there — enjoy!"

Watch the official music video for "The Shannon’s Home" Below:

Eclipse marks XANDRIA’s most outspoken and cinematic album so far: a dark, colorful, and defiant statement for reason, empathy, and democracy in times when all three are under attack, brought to life by a band fueled with new energy, new ambitions, and a clear artistic direction, aiming higher than ever and not looking back!

Pre-order your version of Eclipse NOW.

While The Wonders Still Awaiting (2023) marked the rebirth of XANDRIA with a new line-up — an album that opened the door to a new era — Eclipse goes further. It is more focused and direct, the lyrics are more outspoken, dealing almost entirely with what is happening to our civilization right now. The contrasts are stronger, and the different musical and vocal colours feel even more naturally integrated into the songs. As XANDRIA's sole composer, Marco Heubaum musically draws inspiration from all aspects of his surroundings: music, stories, and emotions that have shaped him since childhood. It is no secret that film scores have always been another major influence, especially composers like Hans Zimmer and John Williams.

TodoMal Release Melodic New Single "Humanised Gods"

TodoMal are releasing “Humanised Gods” as the second single from their upcoming third album Graveyards of Joy. The song bears all the marks of the Spanish duo: solemn doom metal, strong melodies and cinematic atmosphere.

Watch the music video for “Humanised Gods” Below:

Graveyards of Joy comes out July 3, 2026 on Season of Mist

Where the first single from Graveyards of Joy, “Point of Coalescence”, opened on dense, uncompromising ground, “Humanised Gods” offers a different kind of weight. Mid-tempo and melodic, the new single draws its lyrical material from the excess and spectacle of the Claudian dynasty in ancient Rome: emperors regarded as demi-gods, figures onto whom desires and projections were freely cast. From there, the song widens its frame to address something more immediate: the hubris of contemporary individualism, the cult of the self, the particular vacancy that follows when admiration tips into deification. It is, within the arc of the album, a moment of relative relief, the music direct and unguarded in a way that the record's darker corners are not.

Graveyards of Joy is the closing chapter of a trilogy that began with Ultracrepidarian(2021) and continued with A Greater Good (2023). Written in solitude following personal tragedy, the album draws on the landscapes and ghost towns of rural eastern Spain, a terrain the band describe as raw, honest and untamed. It channels grief, anger and hard-won hope through a sound rooted in the slow-burning weight of classic doom and dramatic rock. Vast Hammond organ-driven passages give way to desolate folk; strings with Morriconian openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. The band draw on a wide range of reference points, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that defines TodoMal.

Catch TodoMal on tour this summer, including dates with Evoken.

Graveyards of Joy is the third album and the closing chapter of a trilogy. Written in solitude following personal tragedy, it channels grief, anger and hard-won hope into nine tracks of slow-burning, widescreen doom. The music breathes: vast Hammond-driven passages give way to desolate folk, Morricone-like strings open onto dusty cinematic plains, and heavy riffs anchor songs that never lose sight of melody. A DIY record of striking emotional depth and modern, alternative edge.

The Iron Roses Announce New Album "Molotov Nights" Out 8/6 + Share "Dead Eyes"

THE IRON ROSES, your favorite provocative punk rockers with a clear mission, are back with a brand new album. The band will self-release Molotov Nights on August 6. Pre-save it here (US) and here (EU).

Today, the band, previously lauded by SPIN for being "more ambitious both musically and thematically than most artists choose" and by New Noise as "a great fucking listen," are sharing their new single "Dead Eyes." Listen below.

"'Dead Eyes' is an unyielding statement that shines a light on the bottom line of war: Money," states Natasha Gray. "Greedy billionaires have always seen the working class as expendable pawns. In the words of Tupac Shakur: 'They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor,' and it is time to stand up and firmly demand that the financial rewards of our hard labor be used to enrich, feed, and care for our world, not destroy it. 'Dead Eyes' insists that silence is no longer an option, and drives that point home with deliberate intention, speaking to global atrocities happening around us, right now."

About the album as a whole, Becky Fontaine says, "Molotov Nights is a collection of anthems we poured every bit of our rage and frustration into, taking care to swaddle it in defiant joy and affirming hope. When we wrote this album, we set out to create protest punk that still honored autonomy, humanity, and compassion, and as we moved through our collective grief while bearing witness to new horrors of the world in our news feed every single day, an undeniable frenzy took over."

Fontaine continues, "What came together over the last two years of writing are 10 songs that take the backbone of our sound and make space for more rage, more vulnerability, more defiance, more romancing of the human experience, and more celebration of self. Molotov Nights is a love letter we tucked into the pockets of our community as we link arms and push forward in our resistance — one that we hope will become lovingly worn at the edges from being pulled out to read, re-read, and chant along to on the darkest of nights when hope feels impossible."

With Gray and Fontaine's soaring dual melodies, acerbic lyrics, and unmatched intensity, Molotov Nights is the most cohesive and most necessary record of their career. Covering topics most bands shy away from — genocide, ICE, fascism, femicide — The Iron Roses stand for everything punk was always supposed to fight for. And they do it without ever losing the melody, the hook, the moment where the song grabs you by the collar and will not let go. This is what we needed. Not consolation. Not nostalgia. Not the comfortable lie that things will sort themselves out. We would have preferred the world where this record didn't have to exist — where there was nothing to be this angry about, nothing to grieve, nothing to scream. We'd take that world in a heartbeat. But we don't live in that world. We live in this one. And in this one, The Iron Roses just made Molotov Nights.

Ever the road warriors, The Iron Roses will tour through the rest of the year. All dates are below.

APOSTLE Releases New Single "Exiting the God Hologram", A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon Out June 5.

APOSTLE dive into a thunderous sonic explosion juxtaposed against cathartic dynamics in their next single "Exiting the God Hologram". This offering is first on the tracklist of the band’s forthcoming full-length album, A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon, scheduled for release on June 5, 2026 via Terminus Hate City.

In "Exiting the God Hologram" APOSTLE encourage listeners to sit with discomfort and the understanding that there is not one singular 'correct' way to experience or traverse through life. The song contains striking imagery of a blood-filled sea splitting in half and exposing the ground and aquatic life churning behind a curtain of surf. As a result of the split, two paths lay ahead - one right, one left. Whichever path is taken, only one view of reality, of 'truth', will be experienced.

The song begins with the approaching rumble of a train passing by at night, recorded from vocalist and guitarist Murice White’s apartment. Proceeding into the first section of "Exiting the God Hologram", powerful percussion provides the intensity that drives this portion of the musical arrangement. All-encompassing guitars and low bass melodies are joined by White's anguish-fueled harsh vocals.

A sudden short, sharp hit distinguishes the two characters of the track. A shadowy melody entwines amongst a pendulum-like groove. "Exiting the God Hologram" progresses through emotive passageways while anthemic energy arises from Murice and Michael’s vocals. The track ends returning to the void out of which it emerged, leaving behind a somber yet hopeful melody that awaits in the distance.

The album title references Carl Jung’s description of humanity as a “splinter in the infinite deity,” framing the record as an exploration of spiritual duality, grief, and self-examination. Across six tracks and 27 minutes, the band move through themes of loss, mortality, internal conflict, and eventual healing. The record serves as both a meditation on the human condition and a deeply personal tribute shaped by grief and remembrance.

Produced, engineered, and mixed by Connor Ray at Sobek Sound and mastered by Erol Ulug at Bright Lights, A Splinter in the Infinite Noumenon presents APOSTLE in their most refined and expansive form.

Brantley Gilbert Sets Next Era in Motion with ‘SINS OF THE FATHER’ Arriving 7/24

Multi-Platinum trailblazer Brantley Gilbert announces SINS OF THE FATHER, his highly anticipated eighth studio album, set for release July 24 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Marking his first full-length project with the new label and team, Gilbert channels renewed creative energy to deliver one of the most personal statements of his career. Pre-save/pre-add SINS OF THE FATHER HERE.

On SINS OF THE FATHER, Gilbert blends hard-earned perspective with the grit and honesty that have become his signature. Exploring the journey from the weight of his past to the responsibility of fatherhood, the album offers a raw, reflective look at growth, redemption and the legacy we choose to leave behind.

“I’ve lived a lot of life to get here,” shares Gilbert. “This record is me owning all of it – the mistakes, the lessons and who I am now. It’s all part of the same story, and each track stands on its own, representing its own chapter.”

To accompany today’s announcement, Gilbert releases “F****D ME UP,” a piano-driven ballad and one of his most candid songs to date. Inspired by the woman who changed his life, his wife, he traces a fall to rock bottom before her love and faith pull him back, reshaping his path. Vulnerable and unflinching, it's a powerful reminder that sometimes the moments that break you are the ones that ultimately save you.

Gilbert wanted fans and families alike to be able to experience the project without losing the honesty and emotion at its core. In addition to the original version, Gilbert also offers a clean version of “F****D ME UP,” titled “MESSED ME UP,” also available today. A clean version of SINS OF THE FATHER will be released July 24 alongside the original album.

Lead single “GOOD DAMN,” released as the first taste of his upcoming project, is currently climbing the charts at Country radio. The song garnered 95 adds in its first week, making it the second-biggest add week of Gilbert’s career behind “Bottoms Up” (106 adds). Listen to “GOOD DAMN” Below.

Produced by Gilbert with longtime friend and collaborator Brock Berryhill, SINS OF THE FATHER was constructed like a playlist of defining moments. Movements Announce "Happier Now" Album Out 9/4 + Share Double Single

Southern California's post-hardcore stalwarts MOVEMENTS are pleased to announce the September 4 release of their new album Happier Now via Fearless Records. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band fires off not one but two new tracks with "Dissolve Me" and "Back in My Ways."

Watch the video below

Movements have earned their reputation in the post-hardcore scene with mathy, discordant riffs wrapped in forward-thinking melodies. The band further perfects the formula that has served it so well with "Dissolve Me," which features tense and angular riffs wrapped in shimmering, layered vocal harmonies. It's a hardcore bop that will have the kids in the pit jumping up and down and dancing like no one is watching.

"'Dissolve Me,' the first track we wrote for this record, set a precedent for our writing process," explains Miranda. "Nailing the lead single for an album cycle on the first try is a significant accomplishment. It felt like the perfect culmination of energy, emotion, and growth for us sonically. Like much of the record, this song is introspective, and It's a sort of confession about my own social behaviors and the challenges I face in navigating even the smallest or most 'normal' everyday interactions. Those feelings tend to accumulate and worsen over time, to the point where they can become debilitating. Sometimes it feels like the only remedy would be to slam my head into a wall."

But rather, the band members channel those frustrations into their music!

Movements have also served up a moody and melancholic volley with "Back In My Ways." It's a master class in slow burn sonic storytelling. The tinny riffs and evenly-delivered vocals steadily escalate through to the final third of the song. That's when the track absolutely erupts in a torrent of riffs and a rush of emotive vocals. "Back In My Ways" hits you in all of the post-hardcore feels. Ultimately, "Back in My Ways" was a grower for the band, and one that harks back to the band's earlier sounds.

"'Back in My Ways' was a track that I kinda hated at first," offers Miranda. "I think there was part of me that was hesitant to want to slip back into the 'sadder' side of our music. Sometimes the early versions of the songs we write don't hit right away, but over time it's become one of my favorite tracks on the record. This song is a slow burn in more ways than one, and it's really special."

ABOUT MOVEMENTS:

Movements are proud to announce their fourth full-length album for Fearless Records, Happier Now, with GRAMMY-winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Circa Survive) once again serving as producer. The result is an album that's as expansive as it is emotional and takes Movements' signature sound to a heightened level that further establishes the band as scene statesmen.

"I think at first we weren’t really sure what the record was going to be," vocalist Patrick Miranda admits. "We all had a general idea: We wanted it to bring in the early elements of our sound and blend it with the newer material like [2023's] RUCKUS! and mesh both of those sounds." Two of the songs that came from that initial session were the album’s first two singles: The instantly infectious anthem "Dissolve Me" and moody meditation "Back In My Ways," which collectively acted as sonic north stars to guide the band through the recording process.

In many ways, Happier Now is a full circle moment for Movements, who are once again performing on the Warped Tour this summer and slowly becoming veterans of the community that inspired them growing up. The struggle never sounded so sweet.

KHEMMIS REVEAL NEW SINGLE/VIDEO, 'BENEATH THE SCYTHE’

KHEMMIS continue the march toward their towering new self-titled album with the release of ‘Beneath The Scythe,’ the latest single from the Denver heavy metal institution’s massively anticipated fifth full-length, due out June 12th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Following the explosive first single “Invocation of the Dreamer,” ‘Beneath The Scythe’ digs even deeper into the band’s sharpened sense of purpose—melding colossal riffs, soaring melodies, and the unmistakable emotional weight that has defined KHEMMIS for over a decade. Taken from an album that finds the band reconnecting with the pure exhilaration of making heavy music together, the track captures both the darkness and triumphant spirit at the heart of Khemmis.

Commenting on the new single, guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson states:

‘Beneath the Scythe’ is a track wherein all four of us just it rip. Dueling guitar solos? Check. Ripping drum fills? Check. A beautiful bass solo over a haunting, atmospheric interlude? Check! In some ways, “Scythe” feels like “classic Khemmis,” but we made sure that the song took the listener on a journey unlike anything we’ve done before. As always, this tune is best enjoyed at high volume while holding an ice-cold beverage in a room adorned with posters of Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, and At the Gates (RIP Tompa!).

Alongside the release of ‘Beneath The Scythe,’ KHEMMIS is also unveiling pre-orders for a new band-exclusive vinyl variant of the new record. Limited to just 400 copies worldwide, the exclusive LP is pressed on transparent magenta vinyl with white splatter and is expected to move quickly—especially following the band’s previous exclusive pressing, which sold out in less than 24 hours. Demand for the new album continues to surge, with the recently announced Decibel exclusive vinyl edition already completely sold out, further proving the overwhelming anticipation surrounding KHEMMIS’ return.

‘BENEATH THE SCYTHE’ MUSIC VIDEO BELOW:

Khemmis—the follow-up to 2021’s acclaimed Deceiver—features eight tracks of unrelenting, monolithic heavy metal adorned by stunning artwork from Christopher Remmers. More than just another chapter, the record represents the band in their truest form: a celebration of heavy music, forged through camaraderie, conviction, and an enduring love of the riff.

Across eleven years, KHEMMIS have become one of modern metal’s most revered names, beginning with their 2015 debut Absolution and continuing through landmark releases like Hunted—named Decibel’s Album Of The Year—Desolation, and Deceiver. But while the band’s legacy is firmly established, Khemmis finds them energized by something more immediate: the joy of simply playing loud, heavy music together.

As Hutcherson explains:

We decided early in the songwriting process that we wanted to write a tight, high-energy album that retained the essential ‘Khemmis sound’ while also embodying the joy of creating, experiencing, and loving heavy metal. Ours have always been deeply personal songs born from tragedy and sorrow; while the songs on Khemmis are still undeniably dark, they are not mined from our suffering. Instead, this record is a celebration of the music world that has sustained us.

KHEMMIS will perform a special one-off show with ACID BATH in May before embarking on a headlining tour in early summer with support from NECROFIER and WRETCHED, followed by an excursion with MONOLORD soon after. Tickets and additional tour information are available at khemmisdoom.com/live.

TUNGSTEN Announce New Studio Album Ashes, Out October 9 via PERCEPTION, Present New Video Single "Joker"!

Swedish power metal force TUNGSTEN are ready to unleash their fifth studio album Ashes, set for release on October 9 via PERCEPTION - A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music, and celebrate the announcement with their brand-new video single “Joker”. The band has further revealed co-headline tour dates with INDUCTION; find all dates listed below!

About the new single, guitarist Nick Johansson remembers; "In 2015 I randomly stumbled across a clip of Franzl Lang. I was seriously impressed by how insanely good he was at yodeling, so I went through a short Franzl phase. Not long after that I was standing by a lake with a perfect echo and decided to try a little yodel myself. It sounded absolutely terrible, of course but, I immediately understood the technique. Since then I’ve only yodeled for fun now and then. Somehow, after almost 10 years of casual nonsense-yodeling, it has quietly improved on its own."

Lead singer Mike Andersson adds; “'Joker' is a real stompy banger! I’ll never forget the reactions from our friends and partners at Reigning Phoenix Music when we played them the demo over dinner in Stuttgart. The excitement around the table was amazing.

Pop-Rockers AS IT IS Release New Single "Do You Remember?" + Official Music Video

Today, transatlantic pop-rock quartet AS IT IS proudly releases their new single ‘Do You Remember?,’ the latest track from their forthcoming self-titled album, out on July 17th via FLG.

Speaking on the reflective track, a live favorite in-waiting, frontman Patty Walters shares:

‘Do You Remember?’ is about the countless nights we’ve spent retelling all our favourite stories from the road, the studio, and everywhere else that music has taken us over the years. When we were on top of the world and when we hit rock bottom, we went through every moment of it together, and the memories and the friendships are something we cherish every day. We wrote the song with Max Helyer (You Me At Six), someone who knew exactly what we wanted to say and capture in a song, both in its lyrics and its heart, and ‘Do You Remember?’ wouldn’t be half the song it is without him.”

Max himself adds:

“Working with the lads was a real pleasure. I remember when Patty and myself spoke about doing something at a Marshall writer camp in early 2025, a couple of months later, we were in his studio together writing this song. We shared stories of being on tour with your brothers and what AS IT IS have been through as a band, and I thought, hey, why don’t you write about that side of it? We wanted it to be a triumphant celebration of where they have been and what they’ve gone through together, but most importantly, coming back and doing it for the right reasons."

Of the accompanying music video, Walters comments:

“It was a blast filming the music video in a living room in Brighton, surrounded by partners, friends, and so many of the fans who have supported this band since the very beginning. We love this song so much, and it’s always special getting to share something unreleased with a handful of people before it officially drops. Once the video was wrapped, we played a headline set for everyone who came down, and it was a show I’ll absolutely remember forever. The band’s first-ever show was in a similar living room, no more than a ten-minute walk away from where we shot the video, and it felt so special to, nearly 14 years later, reconnect with the band’s most humble of beginnings, and to know that the video itself was becoming one of those same stories that inspired us to write this song in the first place."

Watch the Official Video for "Do You Remember?" Below:

It is everything that AS IT IS was, is, and will be, and it means the absolute world to them.

“You can never manufacture genuine connection with people,” Ben remarks. “Just find what is honest to you and honest to your journey, and that’s all any artist has to offer to the world. This is our reality, and reality is looking a bit more positive these days. We’re a band known for four quite depressing albums. But days fluctuate, and things change. That’s mental health. But to be able to look at everything with a different and more positive outlook on the future is all that we wanted to say.”

“This is the spirit and intention of the joy that formed AS IT IS in the first place,” Patty adds. “It is reconnecting with the kids that we were when we started to write songs. And now, we’re showing up with life in our eyes. We can listen to and support each other. This is the most in control and confident the band has been in a long time, but also the most proud. In the past, I had no choice but to be in AS IT IS. This new era of the band is my choice. Our choice. A choice. But in having it back, it means having maybe the biggest piece of myself back, too.”

Dominum Present New Single "Doctor Doctor" Plus Official Video

DOMINUM, the rising stars of modern metal, unveil the second track cut from their upcoming full-length Night Is Calling, set for release on July 3 via Napalm Records. The infectious anthem, entitled "Doctor Doctor," is driven by crushing riffs and irresistible hooks, showcasing the band's signature blend of theatrical horror themes and massive sing-along choruses, destined to echo across festival crowds. Following their previously released banger, "The Circus is in Town," the second single, "Doctor Doctor," is served alongside a high-quality official music video, telling the bittersweet story of sickening love.

With their sophomore studio album, The Dead Don't Die (2024), DOMINUM, led by mastermind and singer Felix Heldt —better known as Dr. Dead— stormed into the top 10 of the German charts. Together with his zombies, Tommy Kemp (guitars), Patient 0 (bass), and Victor Hilltop (drums)—DOMINUM have already taken this undead spectacle to major stages across Europe. Touring alongside icons such as Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia, Battle Beast, and Peyton Parrish, the band has proven its strength both at major festivals and during their own headline shows.

Dr. Dead comments on "Doctor Doctor":
"What if a doctor needs to go to the doctor? When the one who heals everyone else can't heal himself anymore. 'Doctor Doctor' is my confession, wrapped in obsession.
A story about a love that feels like a cure at first… but slowly becomes the disease. My pulse races, the symptoms worsen, and suddenly the medicine stops working. I know it's killing me. But still, I crave another dose. Because some love won't save you. Some love just eats you up alive. And when the fever rises and my heart won't listen to reason, there’s only one question left: Is there anyone left who can save me. Yours, Dr. Dead"

Watch the official music video for "Doctor Doctor" Below:

DOMINUM open the next chapter of their dark, theatrical universe with their new full-length Night Is Calling. With their bombastic sound and outstanding stage presence, the band continues its rapid ascent on the international metal scene, without losing sight of its strengths: theatrical, melodic, and uncompromising modern metal — driven by the dark charisma of Dr. Dead and his zombies. One thing is certain: The Living Dead Squad continues to grow.

Night Is Calling is now available for pre-order, with selected formats including the bonus album Live at Wacken 2025.

Dr. Dead on Night is Calling:
"They grow up so fast." – Ugh. It makes me sick. And now I feel it myself: My zombies have grown up. Our creation… has grown up too. But unlike the pitiful rest, we don't mourn our childhood. No. We revel in who we are. Being a child, being an adult — what does that even mean? — the world lies at our feet, and we can do whatever we damn well please. Believe me from firsthand experience: An army of zombies makes everything a hell of a lot easier… and way more fun with every bit of trouble getting the punch it deserves. We have the power to reshape our world. And oh, we do. 'Night is Calling' — This is our outlet. Stronger melodies, heavier riffs, sharper, unflinching lyrics — honesty as our deadliest weapon. We are who we are. And you… you're in this whether you like it or not. The undead are on the march, more relentless than ever. Join us – immediately, willingly… or a little later when we come to your neighborhood. Either way… we'll be seeing you — Dr. Dead."

KOE WETZEL DELIVERS THE NIGHT CHAMPION WILDLY AWAITED SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM ARRIVES JUNE 12

Koe Wetzel didn’t have a master plan, beyond play loud, play hard – and hopefully have a place to sleep – when he began chasing music in Texas’s roughest bars and roadhouses, then Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado and beyond. Little more than a decade later, the hard-charging performer/songwriter finds himself as a force for the music industry, even more than the law, to reckon with.

After his Gold-certified 9 Lives delivered a five-week No. 1 and the most played song at Country radio in 2025 with “High Road,” Wetzel returns with The Night Champion. Capturing the aftermath of a wild run, it delivers all the signature force, punch and ragged details people expect, tempered by the clarity that comes with surviving it. Set for release June 12 via Columbia Records, the album is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE.

Turning chaos, excess and hard-earned perspective into something built to endure, The Night Champion fuses all that’s happened since Wetzel first hit the road with a van and the drive to see how far he could take it. He didn’t foresee sold-out arenas across the U.S., Europe and Australia, a headlining turn in front of 70,000+ at the Houston Rodeo and award nominations spanning both country and rock; but those things sharpened the contrast between where he started and where he realized he could go.

“It’s a continuation of 9 Lives, from that record to now,” Wetzel offers of the follow-up to his globally connecting release. “Really, it’s everything that’s happened – because you don’t go from kids playing for beer to headlining Red Rocks, arenas all over the country, partying and trying to make sense of it all and not shift. My head space is clearer now. I can look back, see how it fits together. It doesn’t make sense, exactly, but it all happened. That search for what it all means keeps bringing me back.”

That tension sits at the heart of the new record, moving between hard-edged rock and wide-open, desolate ballads, balancing the chaos that defined his early years with a perspective that only comes from living through it. Feeling like both reckoning and release, the album grounds in the reality of all the things Wetzel’s outlasted. “It’s crazy I’m not in jail or dead as hard as I went these last 15 years,” he marvels. “Right now, I’m the best version of myself I’ve ever been. I survived the night side of me. I’m coming out of it a champion. That’s the essence of the record.”

Across The Night Champion, that reality plays out in full. It echoes on the muscular “Time Goes On,” weighing what was, what could’ve been and what’s happened since he was a kid who didn’t know better, shooting out the lights and living a reckless life on the edge. On the jaggedly propulsive “Hurts Like You,” arriving this Friday, May 8, Wetzel offers the raw intensity fans expect, but with a vulnerability and surrender to desires that cut you open.

“It’s kind of where I am now: an edgy roughness to all the songs that doesn’t give a fuck, but there’s a tenderness to it, too,” he explains. “Whatever happens, I’m man enough to deal, but the focus and headspace have shifted; I’ve grown up and become okay with looking back.”

Written beyond the confines of rigid sessions, leaning into his instincts rather than schedule, The Night Champion reflects his continuing creative growth. “You’ve gotta go in and get the music behind the feeling,” Wetzel explains. “When you force it, people feel it. I know what I want to say now, where the songs should go, and I want them to come from a space, not an appointment.”

Whether fans were there from those first nights in Texas, the wake of his indie breakout Noise Complaint or found the music during last year’s radio rush, The Night Champion is built to offer a sense of all the phases as it brings the disparate audiences together. “I’m not torn between the worlds,” Wetzel says of the convergence. “This is where all the fans meet. No matter when they got here, this is that moment.”

Pollstar’s “firebrand live sensation” is bringing the new music to fans across the globe with The Night Champion World Tour, his 50+ headlining shows slated for the U.S., Canda and Australia. Shane Smith & The Saints, Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent, Wade Bowen, Bayker Blankenship, Kolby Cooper and Logan Jahnke join as support in varying combinations.

Post Black Metal Newcomer BLOOD MOTHER Unleashes Haunting New Single, "The Wound of Heaven"

Rick Giordano, the composer behind THE LION'S DAUGHTER, has re-emerged as BLOOD MOTHER, a devastating new project that combines the post black metal horrors of TLD with haunting, atmospheric soundscapes and Western Americana attitude. Forged in themes of isolation, paranoia, violence and terror, dark and synth-driven ambience coalesces with bouts of chaotic and desperate black metal, while also honing in on the grit and desolation that was no doubt inspired by Giordano’s upbringing in the rugged American heartlands. Combined with the commanding aggression of Giordano's vocal attack, BLOOD MOTHER offers the score to your own personal horror film.

BLOOD MOTHER is now unveiling the haunting second single, "The Wound of Heaven," from its upcoming self-titled studio album, which is due on June 14 independently. The song can be found along with a visualizer below.

Composer Rick Giordano comments, "'The Wound of Heaven' is about finding beauty and comfort in watching a cruel and horrible world being torn apart. The sky splits open and the violent destruction brings only serenity. Or maybe it's just about pussy."

Pre-orders are now live via the official webstore HERE or via Bandcamp HERE.

Giordano is accompanied on this self titled debut album by Erik Ramsier, long time drummer and percussionist for the Lion's Daughter, with artwork by renowned graphic novelist The Salamander King.

Accompanied on this self-titled debut album by Erik Ramsier, longtime drummer and percussionist for the Lion's Daughter, with artwork by renowned graphic novelist The Salamander King, BLOOD MOTHER isn’t just a reboot, but rather a reinvention. While it still draws from many of THE LION'S DAUGHTER’s original influences, and therefore, the project also defies generic classification much like its predecessor, BLOOD MOTHER is still a clear evolution from what came before. “After 18 years of releasing music and touring the world, the daughter had to die so that the mother could live,” explains Giordano of the new project.

As a fully independent entity, BLOOD MOTHER has no chains, no bounds, and no master. Self-releasing this project with the help of world renowned independent artist manager Wolf Mountain Productions, Giordano is paving his own path and asserting his dominance over the oppressive music industry. Like a renegade cowboy, he joins the ranks of other modern artists who have abandoned all standards and practices to usher in a new era of artist ownership and DIY supremacy. “I've never been a person that neatly fits in with any group, or made music that neatly fits into any category, so it just makes sense to operate independently,” Giordano explains. “I also look at the current state of the music and most of the bands that are popular now, and think why the fuck would I want anything to do with that?”

Like a ghost riding out from the desert, Blood Mother is here to paint the town a shade of red found only in Hell... before burning it all to the ground.

The Ghoulstars Conquer Pop Culture Galaxy on “The Dark Overlords of the Universe”

Ghostbustin’ proton streams, blaster-packing astro clones, creatures from a galaxy far, far away, an astro clone army, and a hit song to die for. Meet The Ghoulstars, a fresh - and frightening blast from pop-culture’s past. Since beaming down onto their native haunt of Finland, these horror punks have tantalized crowds and captured the attention of CNN and other international press. Their blockbuster debut album, The Dark Overlords of the Universe, hits shelves on May 15.

Today, The Ghoulstars are beaming with excitement to release the third and final advanced single from The Dark Overlords of the Universe. While a reference to an ‘80s cult classic, the title track is destined for instant world domination with its stellar mash-up of metal and punk.

“The Dark Overlords of the Universe are an evil alien race from the 1986 film Howard the Duck”, The Ghoulstars guitarist Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso says. “The movie bombed at the box office, but I’m glad those many-teethed mutants never left my brain. Not only did they give us the perfect name for our first album, they also spawned the title track, which is probably the catchiest song I’ve ever written.  We are excited to finally unleash it upon the world!”.

Watch the fun and far-out music video for “The Dark Overlords of the Universe”, written and directed by Daddy Ghoul himself, below:

Despite their ghostly appearance, The Ghoulstars are a collection of real talent. The band features an all-star cast of current and former members of death-doom royalty and Season of Mist labelmates Hooded Menace, stoner rockers Thermate and Finland’s Top Ten charting Kuolemanlaakso.

What bands these ghouls together on “The Dark Overlords of the Universe” is their expansive knowledge of the pop-culture galaxy. With its opening crawl, the music video quickly displays its admiration for George Lucas’ longest-running franchise. Fellow film buffs will marvel over the visual cues to Barbarella, Kill Bill, Sin Cityand the Swedish buddy cop romp Kopps. The song itself is an irresistible crossover. The ingenuous combination of surf beats, heavy riffs and a cameo from Finnish star and Fly-Eyed master Tuple Salmela produces a chorus that shall never ever grow old.

The Dark Overlords of the Universe is a love letter to everything that blew our minds as kids”, Laakso says. “The album is loaded with huge riffs, big choruses, surprising curve balls and Easter eggs from old horror, sci-fi and coming-of-age movies. Holding it all together is our sheer joy in watching all the pieces fall into the right place.

The video for “The Dark Overlords of the Universe” was written and directed by Markus “Daddy Ghoul” Laakso.

Evergrey Unveil Third Single + Video "Leaving The Emptiness"

EVERGREY, Gothenburg's masterminds of melancholia, release another song leading up to their upcoming fifteenth album, Architects Of A New Weave, out June 5 via Napalm Records. The encouraging new single "Leaving The Emptiness" offers a chorus that breaks through like sunlight piercing storm clouds. More than 30 years into their career, EVERGREY reshape their future masterfully, turning their inner fire into something unstoppable.

This is melodic, progressive, dark metal at its most massive and intimate: Dream weavers rising. Architects are stepping up to claim what comes next. The new track comes with an official music video that’s visually underlining its signature character.

Tom S. Englund about the new single "Leaving The Emptiness":
"Our new single is a high-energy firecracker that makes you want to jump—we know, because we just played it in Brazil twice and people were more in the air than on the ground. But don't let the adrenaline fool you. Underneath the surge is something rawer—a song about the moment you stop running from what hurts and finally turn to face it. 'Leaving The Emptiness' hits hard because it earns it. The tension between the euphoric, major-key drive and the weight of the lyrics is completely intentional—we want you to feel joy and ache at the same time, because that's what it actually feels like to face your demons and come out the other side. We also made a video that matches that energy in every way, and we genuinely cannot wait for you to see it. If you've ever stood in a crowd and felt the music pull something out of you that you didn’t know was still there—for us, this is that song."

Watch the official music video for "Leaving The Emptiness" Below:

EVERGREY's new full-length, Architects Of A New Weave, will be released just days before the band takes the stage as special guest to the undisputed kings of heavy metal, Iron Maiden, for two shows on their Run For Your Lives World Tour.

Tom Englund about Architects Of A New Weave:
"We've literally never had this much trouble picking singles. And honestly? That's the best problem we could possibly have. Every song on this record is fighting to be the one you hear first—because we poured everything into making an album we're flat-out obsessed with. Like always there are no fillers, no compromises, just twelve tracks we're stupidly proud of and will be for the rest of our lives. Pre-order the album now and join the weave!"
