Randall Taylor's work uses analog tape and its imperfections to explore themes like degradation and nostalgia and their relationship to technology and to the self. By constructing and modifying tape loops and repurposing antiquated cassette players, Taylor creates dense, never-ending, looping soundscapes for both his live performances and sculptural sound art installations.
Known for his ability to weave soundscapes that evoke powerful emotions with minimalistic instrumentation, Taylor’s newest project is a masterful exploration of mood, atmosphere, and texture.
Taylor commented: "Rema(i)nders started as a fragmented collection of songs, memories, ideas, and feelings that I wanted to mash and warp together beyond recognition. What I ended up creating was a beautiful mosaic of texture and light in this darkening world. To remain is to remind. To remind is to remain."
IATT Announces New Single "Somniphobia" From Forthcoming Album Etheric Realms of the Night
Experimental metal band IATT release their new single "Somniphobia", taken from the forthcoming album Etheric Realms of the Night, arriving May 8, 2026 on Black Lion Records.
"Somniphobia" explores the fear of falling asleep and the psychological strain that follows prolonged exhaustion. The song reflects the experience of constant fatigue, mental tension, and the despair that develops when the body and mind are pushed beyond rest. The composition moves through contrasting sonic spaces that mirror the instability of sleep anxiety.
A dissonant bridge introduces an atmosphere of unease and internal conflict. Clashing tones and shifting dynamics capture the feeling of mental tension building beneath the surface. This moment gives way to a dramatic shift that introduces a sample from Ram Dass’ 1994 lecture The Roots of Suffering. The passage centers on the difficulty of understanding the mind and the persistent nature of suffering.
Following the spoken excerpt, the track transitions into trance-like and space-oriented keyboards that suggest a drifting state between wakefulness and dream. The music moves toward a calmer sonic space while still carrying the tension established earlier in the track.
The Ram Dass lecture was chosen for its reflection on the paradox of awareness and suffering. A sense of connection to oneself, to spirituality, or to the dream world does not remove the presence of suffering in reality. The themes expressed in the lecture align with the central tension within "Somniphobia". The impulse to move away from reality exists alongside the realization that acceptance of one’s present condition is necessary. The balance between suffering and awareness becomes part of the larger emotional arc of the song.
Etheric Realms of the Night presents a conceptual exploration of sleep and dream states. Each track represents a stage within the larger narrative of dreaming, beginning with the descent into sleep and continuing through the shifting environments of the subconscious. The album explores themes of fear, transcendence, and the duality that exists between waking life and the dream world.
Through this narrative structure, IATT examine the boundary between consciousness and the subconscious and the ways these states influence one another. The result is an album that moves through tension, uncertainty, and eventual acceptance of a different realm of experience.

Black Veil Brides Announce Seventh Studio Album "VINDICATE"
With anticipation building at every turn, Black Veil Brides have announced their highly anticipated seventh studio album, VINDICATE. The record will be released worldwide on May 8 via Spinefarm.

From the opening organ introduction and dramatic soliloquy of "Invocation To The Muse" to the emotive finale of "Eschaton," the band — vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma — delivers one of the most ambitious chapters of their career. Previously released singles including "Bleeders," "Hallelujah," and "Certainty" have already showcased the band's continued musical evolution while maintaining the theatrical intensity that has defined their sound.
"This record is rooted in the feelings of revenge and vindication. These are emotions that can either push us forward or hold us back. There’s a duality to them. They can fuel growth, drive ambition, and help us rise above what’s tried to break us, but they can also become destructive if we let them consume us," explains Andy Biersack.
Each song explores a different side of that struggle. Sometimes it’s about getting even with someone else, sometimes it’s about confronting ourselves and our past, our pain, or the things that were done to us. At its core, though, this album is about resilience.
"It's for anyone who's ever had their dreams doubted or their fire challenged by people who couldn’t see their vision. We're all born with that spark. The latest preview from the album arrives with the release of the title track, "Vindicate." Featuring a haunting calliope introduction that erupts into a driving wall of guitars and Biersack's signature scream, the song captures the dramatic scale and power fans have come to expect from Black Veil Brides. In support of the new album, Black Veil Brides will embark on their first North American headline tour of 2026. The 24-city run kicks off April 25 in Riverside and concludes May 30 in Worcester. ROTTING CHRIST, a pillar of Greek metal, are reissuing Der Perfekte Traum for the first time on Season of Mist. Long out-of-print, this EP captures the band at a pivotal crossroads in their career between the melodic darkness of 1997’s A Dead Poem and the atmospheric depth of 1999’s Sleep of the Angels.
Now reissued by the band’s longtime label home Season of Mist, the new vinyl edition of Der Perfekte Traum preserves an overlooked chapter of Rotting Christ’s legacy.

Alt-rockers Noir Addiction dish up mischief and mayhem on "Serve Me Some Crime" single
Alternative-industrial rockers Noir Addiction present their new single "Serve Me Some Crime", a sarcastic manifesto about embracing chaos and contradiction, where rule-breaking, humor and non-conformity become tools of personal freedom. Presented with a smashing new video directed & edited by Jack Lucas Laugeni, it celebrates choosing instinct and madness over routine, control, and the suffocating seriousness of everyday life. This is the first taste of the album "Pretty Things Don’t Last", forthcoming via Berlin-based Soulpunx label.
Emerging with a raw, industrial-tinged soul, Noir Addiction is a powerhouse trio that harnesses a dark, heavy aesthetic against a backdrop of classic rock ’n’ roll grit. Founded by Sonny Lanegan, who handles vocals, guitars, synthesizers, and programming, the band is rounded out by drummer Roberto Catanzaro and Nessie Zorba on keyboards and percussion. A seasoned musician and producer, Lanegan’s creative vision was shaped by cutting his teeth in Los Angeles's high-octane music scene, where he honed his experimental style as singer-songwriter for White Pulp and co-founder of The Dead Good.
“Serve Me Some Crime” started from a really simple feeling: sometimes life gets too serious. Too structured. Too polite. The word “crime” in the song isn’t literal it’s more about breaking small, invisible rules. It’s about those moments when you don’t want to behave exactly how you’re expected to. A regular Sunday can feel predictable, almost scripted, and the song plays with the idea of shaking that up adding a bit of danger, irony, or mischief to something ordinary,” says Sonny Lanegan.
“At its core, the song is about freedom not the peaceful, inspirational kind, but the messy kind. The kind where you allow yourself to be contradictory, to not have it all figured out, to embrace a bit of chaos instead of pretending you’re always in control. It’s me saying: if life insists on being absurd, I might as well play along.”
Based in Italy, Noir Addiction has electrifying their way onto the music scene through their clever mix of glamorously haunting atmosphere, sense of decadence, rebellion and obsession, Noir Addiction bring a high-voltage fusion of dark rock, grunge attitude and shock-rock energy. By fusing heavy, distorted guitars and electronic textures with theatrics and raw emotion, they offer an immersive experience that is meant to be felt just as much as it is heard.
“There’s a lot of contradiction in the lyrics on purpose. Lines like “I don’t need forgiveness right now” or “I wear the joke to fight” reflect that push and pull between being sincere and hiding behind humor. I think many of us do that… we joke when things get uncomfortable, we act cool instead of saying what we really feel. The song lives in that space. Writing it felt like letting myself misbehave creatively. I didn’t overthink it, I followed the impulses that felt a little reckless. The lyrics came out in bursts, almost like I was arguing with myself. There’s tension in the song because that’s how I felt: torn between wanting to stay composed and wanting to blow everything up,” says Sonny Lanegan.
“When we recorded it, I wanted that tension to stay alive. We didn’t polish away the edges. The vocals needed attitude something slightly provocative, almost teasing. I wanted the track to feel cool but restless at the same time, like there’s something simmering underneath. We played with that contrast between restraint and release, keeping it tight in some moments and then letting it loosen just enough to feel unpredictable. That balance is really what gives the song its character”.
Sonny Lanegan brings years of behind-the-scenes studio and production experience to Noir Addiction. Many of his songs have also been licensed to and featured in American TV shows, cementing his presence in mainstream media and propelling him into notable collaborations with artists and producers, which has sharpened his sound and pushed his creative vision to new heights.
Lanegan eventually reconnected with his old friend Nessie Zorba, former bandmate in PostHuman, with whom they toured Europe, rekindling their deep musical connection and passion for relentless intensity and depth and channelling this unfiltered energy into this new, heavier, darker project. Drummer Roberto Catanzaro then joined in, bringing a new dynamic layer to their presence, his powerful and heavy-weighted performance adding body, urgency and raw impact to their overall sound.

Hardline Announce New Album "Shout" + Share "Rise Up" Video
The melodic hard rock band HARDLINE have released with "When You Came Into My Life," a new digital single and lyric video. The song is taken from the upcoming studio album Shout.
In addition to the nine songs which were composed for Shout by singer Johnny Gioeli, keyboard player Alessandro Del Vecchio, and guitarist Luca Princiotta, the cover version of the SCORPIONS classic "When You Came Into My Life" is definitely one of the biggest surprises on the new studio album.
Gioeli says, "A friend from Norway played me the song, I'd never heard it before. But it's a real smash hit, which we've recorded in typical Hardline style out of respect for the Scorpions."
The lyric video for the song is a tribute to the loss of personal animals and to neglected and abused dogs, as well as the loss of a loved one.
"Alessandro and I are great dog lovers," says Gioeli. "For a number of years now, I've flown dogs from animal shelters as a pilot, saving them from being put down because nobody wants them. On tour, we will hand out glow sticks for a small donation, which people can hold up while we play the song and think of someone they have lost and who was particularly important to them."

Haste the Day Drop Video for "Oblivion"
HASTE THE DAY, the metalcore band that made a scene splash in the '00s, returned in 2024 with the video for the new song "Burn." They also appeared at Furnace Fest that year. It was their first new music in nearly a decade. But they didn't stop there. Not a chance! The band will release its new album DISSENTER on May 1 via Solid State Records. Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. Haste The Day have clung to their integrity since initially emerging at the turn of the century. LUNGBURNER Releases New Single "Apostasy" Ahead of Upcoming Album Dogma, Out April 17
LUNGBURNER has released their new single "Apostasy," the second track from their forthcoming third full-length album Dogma, due out April 17 - pre-orders are available HERE. A song that has already become a staple in the band’s live sets throughout 2025, "Apostasy" captures a balance of controlled intensity and raw emotion.
The track begins with a sample of philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti challenging the role of religion in shaping false realities and imposed truths. From there, "Apostasy" builds into a focused and aggressive composition that reflects the tension involved in breaking away from deeply rooted cultural and ideological systems. It presents both confrontation and release, centered on rejecting expectation and inherited belief.
While the title references the act of leaving one’s birth religion, often at significant personal risk, "Apostasy" extends beyond that idea. The song stands as a statement of individual direction and the pursuit of truth and peace, even when it comes at the cost of social acceptance. It reflects a willingness to move forward without guarantees.
The song was the second written for Dogma and developed from an earlier piece by Joshua. Its early creation helped shape the direction of the album, both thematically and sonically. Its reception in live settings has reinforced its place as a defining track in this cycle.
With Dogma, LUNGBURNER continues to explore themes of identity, belief, and autonomy through a direct and uncompromising sound. "Apostasy" offers a clear introduction to the record’s core ideas.

LUNGBURNER is an Atlanta, Georgia based heavy music band formed in Athens, Georgia in 2023 by guitarist and vocalist Jens Anderberg, guitarist Joseph Mills, and drummer Dylan Mincey. The band quickly developed a reputation for combining the crushing weight of southern sludge and doom with industrial textures, progressive songwriting, and atmospheric melody. Additional highlights include opening for BARONESS at their Atlanta New Year's Eve 2025 performance and headlining Doomed and Stoned Fest in Asheville, North Carolina.
Outside of music, all members work professionally in various engineering fields, and none of them originally came from traditional doom or stoner rock backgrounds. Modesty Blaise presents "The Little Things You Do" ahead of "Melancholia - Remaster" 25th Anniversary Edition
Bristol indiepop collective Modesty Blaise presents "The Little Things You Do", a lost masterpiece of baroque-pop, as a remaster that finally delivers the lush, orchestral depth originally intended for its aborted 7-inch release. The video footage was filmed during the Melancholia tour in Germany, just after the original album was released.
Previewing the remastered 25th Anniversary edition of their seminal album "Melancholia", this single breathes new life into this cult-classic, trading its mysterious history for a polished, high-fidelity presence that demands a place in the modern pop canon.
One of the many standout tracks from this record, 'The Little Things You Do' was slated to be the third single from the cult classic album but that didn’t happen - the band had started recording a video and then it stopped and now nobody can remember why! Frontman and founder Jonny Collins shares, “It was always going to be a single, that’s why we recorded a single version. I wonder what happened”.
The 2026 remaster was prepared with a light-touch approach, focused on clarity and depth rather than reinvention. Greater dynamic range and enhanced detail bring new presence to the recording, revealing subtle textures and spatial nuance while preserving the character of the original mix. Featuring newly-restored audio, many outtakes from the original sessions and updated artwork in a fantastic new 3 Disc version, this release reflects on the album’s legacy and continued resonance.
Modesty Blaise have also shared the lead track, "Carol Mountain" as a Bandcampexclusive, the video for which was created from footage shot when Modesty Blaise played in New York in 2002, when the band was made up of Jonny Collins, David W Brown, Gregory Jones, Clem Courtney and Julien Clapperton.
Modesty Blaise have been around since 1993 in various guises. In that year, they recorded their debut single 'Christina Terrace' with Edwyn Collins at the helm, garnering them immediate success with a live appearance on ITV and inclusion among many end-of-year top music rankings. Other highlights include supporting Robbie Williams at London's O2 Arena, inclusion in a Rough Trade compilation, an ITV company documentary on Jonny Collins, and a BBC Radio session involving seventeen people.
“For quite a while now, people have been asking us why our biggest album wasn’t available to stream. We decided that, if we were going to do it, we’d do it properly”, says Jonny Collins.
Originally on CD and vinyl, "Melancholia" remains a quietly influential work more than two decades after its release — defined by emotional precision, sonic restraint, and a timeless sense of atmosphere. Via Doloris Premiere Debut Album Guerre et Paix
Via Doloris is rooted in an inward journey rather than orthodoxy. Conceived in solitude and shaped by discipline, composer and multi-instrumentalist Gildas Le Pape (ex-Satyricon) traces a melodic, atmospheric and introspective path through black metal’s foundations. On debut album Guerre et Paix, he’s joined by Frost, the legendary drummer of Satyricon and 1349, who provides a sense of persistence, grounded and unyielding.

Born in Brittany, France, and based in Oslo, Le Pape first gained attention as guitarist in Satyricon from 2007 to 2013, touring extensively and contributing to the band’s self-titled album. After stepping away to explore a broad range of musical directions, he returned to extreme music with a renewed creative vision and sharpened intent. Via Doloris represents the culmination of that journey: a project shaped by solitude, discipline and an uncompromising sense of craft.
Rooted in Nordic black metal tradition yet guided by melody, restraint and emotional depth, Via Doloris occupies a space distinct from genre convention. Le Pape writes all music and lyrics, performing guitars, bass and vocals. The compositions favor measured, expressive arcs over aggression or spectacle, with melody serving as the driving force rather than ornamentation. Folk and pagan influences surface throughout the arrangements, lending the album a timeless, almost ritualistic atmosphere. Lyrics shift between French, English and Norwegian, each language chosen deliberately for its emotional weight and texture.
Frost’s nuanced playing adds both weight and subtlety to the record. Guest vocals on "Omniprésents" are performed by the late Raido (Ferriterium, Heimsgard, Karne).
Based in Oslo, Gildas Le Pape first gained attention in 2007 when he joined the legendary Satyricon as a guitarist. Over the next six years, he toured the world and contributed to the band’s recorded legacy, before stepping away to explore a broad range of musical directions. In time, this path led him back to extreme music, this time with a renewed creative vision and sharpened intent. In 2023, he invited his long-time collaborator, Frost — arguably one of the most accomplished drummers in the genre — to join him in bringing the debut release to life.

The band is known to dive into unexpected ventures by choosing to perform in places that intuitively seem incoherent to the type of music being played or are not considered to be regular venues. First such show took place in the church of St. John's 2019 and another one in Lukiškės Ex-Prison, both in Vilnius, Lithuania.
After the second album, the band took some time to rediscover their relationship with music and identified the elements that would convey their future vision in the most truthful way. This idea is followed by their 2026 release - EPIGRAMA, that delivers a familiar, yet a fundamentally different approach towards experimenting within the confines of heavy music and reflective storytelling. The goal was to craft a meticulous consistency between the music, lyrics and sound production, where every aspect of the song works together to create meaningful impact. This album marks a new beginning for ERDVE, in the process of rediscovery, experimentation and raw expression.

Cursed Awakening Unleashes New Single “The Rift” From Upcoming Album Path Of The Soul
CURSED AWAKENING has released their new single, “The Rift,” taken from their upcoming album Path Of The Soul, due out August 2026.
“The Rift” jumps straight into the verse riff, a jumpy, chaotic and energetic thrashy riff that sets the pace immediately. After its relentless opening, the song suddenly slows into a more melodic bridge that opens into dual lead harmonies. The momentum builds again with a solo before dropping into a breakdown. The track then returns to the second verse riff at a faster tempo and closes with the chorus.
The structure mirrors the central theme of the song. It begins with speed and intensity, slows into reflection, and then surges forward again before breaking apart. The pacing reflects the internal fracture at the heart of the story.
“The Rift” represents a turning point in the narrative of Path Of The Soul. The concept character finds himself deep in the consequences of bad decisions and prolonged suffering. At this point he experiences a mental schism, realizing he must decide whether to continue on his path or attempt to repair the damage he has caused.
The rift itself is a mental dialogue. The character recognizes that the self deception in his life had become his “dominion,” a failed life he created and continued to defend. This realization is captured in the line that appears just before the breakdown: “I’ve burned my life to ash, I am my own demise, entombed in my own lies.”
During early development the band referred to the song as “The Riff.” Through several iterations of the track, the opening riff remained unchanged and ultimately became the foundation for the finished version.
“The Rift” will appear on Path Of The Soul, the upcoming full length album from CURSED AWAKENING, scheduled for release in August 2026.

You’ve helped us pick these songs, and inspired us to really invest in the kind of album we’ve always wanted to release...recorded live in an amazing studio with some insanely talented musical guests, and diving deep into beautiful artwork that really weaves together with the music...
There are many of you who aren’t sentimental about this kind of thing, and that’s OK! We’re a live band, and that will always be the core of who we are. But for those of you who have been waiting to hold an AEG recording like this in your hands, we want you to be able to have the very first copies of our very first printing...

I’ve had people asking me about a vinyl release for about a decade now, so thanks to you we’re finally releasing REVELATE as a big, beautiful, old-school vinyl record.
This album will not only be our first vinyl release ever, but it will be a double vinyl record, filled with artwork inspired by the tapestry of these songs along with lyrics.
This week we’re opening a presale for the first limited pressing of REVELATE.
During the presale we’ll be personally signing and hand-numbering every vinyl and CD you order, album numbers will be assigned in the order your presales come in. (For you CD buyers, we still love the artwork so much, but we couldn’t squeeze the lyrics on there...we’ll be posting them on our website for you!)

Thrash Metal Outfit NUKEM Launches Vicious New Single ft. Rob Cavestany of Death Angel
California has always been fertile ground for thrash metal, leading the charge with some of the genre's most legendary acts. San Diego's NUKEM follows in the footsteps of thrash metal's founding fathers, producing the kind of time-tested, neck-breaking thrash that invokes deep nostalgia while still sounding fresh and modern.
The thrashers are now launching the latest aural assault from the offering, "Into the Kill Zone," which features a guest solo by DEATH ANGEL shredder Rob Cavestany. The song can be found along with a lyric video below
Nukem guitarist Steve Brogden comments, "This was one of the earlier songs we had written for this album and it came together rather fast and easy. My original working title for it was 'DA01' because I felt it had some heavy influence from our brothers in Death Angel, so it only felt fitting to ask Rob Cavestany to lay down a guest solo! Rob came out swinging and he knocked it out of the park!
"The song's actual topic came a book of the same name written by a retired police officer. He interviewed other officers on the weight of drawing their weapon in the line of duty and having to make split second decisions that could mean life or death to the officer or the ones they are sworn to protect. A pretty heavy topic that I don’t feel is touched on very often."
The track is taken from the band's forthcoming sophomore full-length, 'The Grave Remains,' which is due on April 10, 2026 via Redefining Darkness. Pre-orders are now live in the U.S. HERE and the rest of the world HERE.
Nukem is a Thrash metal force from San Diego, California, that delivers an honest, old school thrash attack. Formed in 2012, Nukem released their 2016 debut album "The Unholy Trinity,' which was mixed & mastered by Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Static X, Dethklok, White Zombie) and was released via Sleaszy Rider Records out of Greece.
Nukem had entered the studio in 2024 once again with Ulrich Wild to work on our second album. Ten songs of pure molten metal! Some songs are full on unstoppable Bay Area style Thrash metal violence while others are more of a mid tempo power groove. Nukem has now forged a new union with Redefining Darkness for the release of their oncoming onslaught... stay tuned!

Tarja Announces New Album "Frisson Noir" + Unveils First Single "At Sea" Out Now
Tarja will unleash her brand new metal album Frisson Noir on June 12 via earMUSIC, and it's the heaviest record of her career and a powerful statement of identity, strength and belonging. After years of exploring different musical landscapes, Tarja stands firmly where she belongs — in metal.
Frisson Noir reflects Tarja's ongoing dialogue between cinematic orchestration, classical heritage, and the power and intensity of contemporary metal. The album moves between intimate piano passages, dramatic orchestral textures, and
powerful, guitar-driven moments.
At the center of the soundscape is Tarja's distinctive voice, moving effortlessly between fragile emotional expression and operatic power. Kicking off the album, the first single "At Sea" is out today.
The song embodies the core idea behind Frisson Noir – the physical reaction that music can provoke, the shiver that runs through the body when sound, emotion, and performance align in a real moment. With "At Sea," Tarja captures that moment, reminding listeners what happens when sound, emotion, and human performance collide. The track combines Tarja's voice with live musicians, orchestral arrangements, and choir performances recorded in Budapest with the Budapest Art Orchestra and Budapest Art Choir, conducted by Gyorgy Gulyas Nagy. The result is a heavy metal endeavor within a cinematic sonic landscape that mirrors the emotional journey of the song itself: The tension between fear and determination when facing the unknown.

ROMAN CANDLE Announce Debut Album; Drop New Single & Music Video "Blasphemous Act"
Roman Candle release their new single, "Blasphemous Act", today alongside the announcement of their debut album, Unadulterated, due April 24th via Sumerian Records. Watch the music video below , stream the track HERE, and pre-save Unadulterated HERE.
Written in the final hours of the album sessions, "Blasphemous Act" arrived too loud and too late to leave behind. Built on raw, unfiltered vocals and dynamics that coil and crack under barely controlled pressure, the track maps the exact moment devotion tips feral, channelling obsession and retribution into something cathartic, unhinged, and ending in a repeated "run for your life" refrain that hits like a full stop.
The title came from a Magic: The Gathering card. The song went somewhere darker. Piper explains:
"'Blasphemous Act' was the last song we wrote for the record, and it hit with such ferocity that it forced its way onto the album in the eleventh hour. The name came from a Magic: The Gathering card, but the song took on a life of its own — this unhinged, teeth-bared spiral of obsession and retribution. Lines like 'your neck in my teeth is all that I need' and 'karma is owed, paid in full' captured a darker, more primal side of the band that we didn't even know we were still capable of tapping into. By the time it explodes into that repeated 'run for your life' refrain, it felt clear: the record wouldn't be complete without this song."
"Blasphemous Act" is the seventh single from the Las Vegas quartet since signing to Sumerian Records, following Fire In The Night Sky Forever.", "This Band Has Led Me To Places I Wouldn't Go With A Gun," "Nothing Is Original","Bite Harder Than You Bleed" and "Lady Lazarus". Each release has pushed further into the emotional extremity that defines Unadulterated: a record built around no compromise and no mercy, and the full realisation of what Roman Candle came here to prove.
