Brutal Planet Records Announce the Remastered Releases of APOSTLE Albums “White Metal” and “Chariots of Iron” on CD and Vinyl

Brutal Planet Records announces that two long-awaited titles from Florida Christian metal pioneers Apostle are finally getting the deluxe reissue treatment — and both are available now for pre-order at discounted prices exclusively at boonesoverstock.com.

⚔️ White Metal (1985) — available for the first time ever on CD and Vinyl, including the rare 1984 demo as bonus tracks
⚔️ Chariots of Iron (1987) — the underground classic finally receiving its first official CD release

Both titles are fully remastered by Rob Colwell, feature expanded packaging with archival notes and rare photos, and are part of the Metal Icon Series. Quantities are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

In the early 1980s, when Christian metal was still finding its footing, Apostle emerged from Jacksonville, Florida, led by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Matt Harding (1957–2012). What began as a small local group with a deep spiritual calling soon became one of the most dedicated and prolific underground acts in Christian metal. Formed in 1983, Apostle combined fiery, melodic metal with an unwavering devotion to sharing the message of Jesus Christ.

From the start, Apostle’s ministry reached beyond the church walls. As drummer Bill Box recalled, the band would play “anywhere and everywhere—clubs, reformatories, outdoor parks, churches, coffee houses, and skating rinks.” Their mission was to take the gospel wherever people would listen. Bassist Dave Lawson summarized their purpose simply: “What you have to do is sell out to Jesus and let Him change your life. We’ve tried to stay straight to the Bible and sing songs that glorify God.”

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Apostle toured widely across the South and Midwest, often sharing stages with national Christian rock and metal acts such as Whitecross, Bride, and Rez Band. In 1989, Apostle recorded with Glenn Kaiser (Rez Band/JPUSA) in Chicago—one of the scene’s most respected figures—resulting in their most polished and spiritually intense album. Harding’s soaring guitar work, layered harmonies, and heartfelt conviction set Apostle apart as a band unafraid to merge heavy music with deep faith.

Despite their talent and steady output, Apostle’s recordings were distributed only in small cassette runs, making them treasured finds among collectors. Their catalog remained largely unheard outside underground tape-trading circles. These official Retroactive Records reissues finally make that catalog accessible on both CD and vinyl for the first time—all beautifully remastered by Rob Colwell and accompanied by restored artwork and historical notes.

One exception, Prepare to Meet God, did receive a limited CD release years ago but quickly became nearly impossible to find. Its inclusion alongside the earlier Apostle material—and Matt Harding’s solo project Steel Armada—completes the long-overdue restoration of his musical legacy.

Brutal Planet Records had been trying to obtain the rights to reissue Apostle’s music for nearly 30 years. After Matt Harding’s passing in 2012, they continued searching for any contact that could lead to his family or former bandmates—years filled with dead ends and unanswered messages. Eventually, they reached out to the Christian Rock & Metal Facebook group, asking its 80,000 members for help. Chris Rozier (writer for Heaven’s Metal Magazine) responded and connected them with Larry Motes, one of Apostle’s drummers. Larry then contacted Jacob Harding, Matt’s son, and through that connection, this long-awaited reissue campaign was finally set in motion.

Previously available only as a flimsy, low-quality cardboard-sleeve promo that barely surfaced in the collector world, Unburied has long been considered nearly impossible to obtain. This Brutal Planet Records edition finally gives these unearthed horrors a proper home in a jewel case with a 12-page lyric booklet, remastered by Rob Colwell and officially welcomed into the Metal Icon Series.

Known for their pioneering fusion of metal, rap, and unflinching social commentary, CLAWFINGER return with their brand new record Before We All Die, that will rekindle the fire which made them one of Europe’s most groundbreaking crossover acts. This long-awaited comeback marks not just a return, but a reinvention, proof that true intensity never fades.

Despite releasing their first studio album since 2007, CLAWFINGER are seeing significant success across social media platforms and streaming services, where both new material and classic tracks are gaining impressive traction. The band’s sharp lyrical perspective and unmistakable sound clearly strike a chord with the current zeitgeist, resonating not only with long-time fans but also with a new, younger generation of metal listeners. This renewed relevance proves that CLAWFINGER’s message, attitude and musical identity remain as powerful and timely as ever.

From environmental collapse to political hypocrisy, personal disillusionment to collective denial, Before We All Die is CLAWFINGER at full volume - still pissed off, still sharp as ever, still sprinkled with a touch of self-irony, and still refusing to shut up while the world pretends it’s all fine.

“This album is part protest, part therapy, and part middle finger,” the band says. “We’re not offering solutions. We’re screaming because silence is surrender.”

HÉR Premiere Debut Album 'Monochrome'

HÉR are seekers and storytellers. Their debut album, Monochrome, reflects polar extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that’s brought by peace.

“Throughout Monochrome, HÉR move freely between free jazz, folk, world music and deep Nordic-rooted atmospheres, without losing coherence”, Metal Epidemic writes in a 4/5 review.

“It’s as if Steve Von Till decided to score the Poetic Edda”, Jon Barbas writes for Heavy Metal Philosophy.

Monochrome comes out tomorrow, Friday, January 30, but you can hear all seven stirring songs today by listening to the full album stream on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.

Listen Below:

Pre-order & Pre-save

https://orcd.co/hermonochrome

Monochrome balances restraint with intensity. Throat singing, bowed strings, percussion and subtle electronics intertwine to form an album that feels both ancient and immediate. “Chant” opens with amidst a meditative expanse before moving into the spirit of the Icelandic fjords on “Needles and Bark”, trance-like introspection on “Patience in Observation,” the grounded momentum of “Going Down,” and the fervent, almost hymn-like force of “Praise the Day.”

“HÉR — meaning ‘here’ in Icelandic — is more than a name; it is a call to presence” the band says. “We stand ‘here,’ united by rhythm, voice, and story, ready to bring the raw essence of the North to those who are willing to listen, feel, and be transformed. Sit here with us — sestu hérna — and witness what begins now.”

By exploring the human nature described in Norse mythology, the musicians make a deep insight into the emotions embedded in its verses. They bring out the dark beauty of the North and its extremes: fire and ice, violence and tenderness, bravery and care, the brutality of war and the solace that peace brings, struggle and feast, the milky sweetness of honey and the salty tang of blood, love and hatred, birth and death, beginning and end, terror and awe…

Sestu hérna, sit here… sit here and listen, sit here and grow, sit here and drift away.

Crippled Black Phoenix Announce Stark New Album 'Sceaduhelm'

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX are announcing their new album Sceaduhelm with a new video for its lead single “Ravenettes”. One of the first songs written for Sceaduhelm, “Ravenettes” establishes the album’s emotional framework. Built on repetition, restraint and controlled momentum, the song captures a state of psychological vigilance, where suppressed memories resurface without warning and avoidance proves brief.

Watch the music video for “Ravenettes” below:

Sceaduhelm comes out April 17th on Season of Mist.

“Ravenettes” frames trauma as cyclical rather than resolved, returning again and again as a glitch in the timeline. The song’s stripped-back construction and insistent rhythmic pulse mirror the sense of inevitability by favoring tension over release. Vocalist Belinda Kordic remains measured and urgent, carrying the song’s unease without exaggeration. Within the wider context of Sceaduhelm, “Ravenettes” introduces the album’s inward focus on endurance, emotional erosion, and the quiet violence of repetition, setting the foundation for what follows…

The official music video for “Ravenettes” was produced in collaboration with 9LITER FILMY, an audiovisual production collective, who are recognized for cinematic restraint and emphasis on mood-driven storytelling. Known for work that favors atmosphere, repetition and visual tension over linear narrative, 9LITER FILMY’s approach mirrors the song’s exploration of memory as disruption rather than closure.

Lyrically and thematically, Sceaduhelm is preoccupied with exhaustion as a condition rather than a moment, with time framed not as a healer but as an eroding force. Songs address burnout, grief, surveillance, institutional violence, and damaged intimacy, often blurring the line between the personal and the political. Musically, the album favours restraint over release, employing repetition, minimalism, and slow escalation to sustain tension without catharsis. Recorded across multiple locations and mixed with deliberate austerity, the record resists warmth, clarity serving discomfort rather than solace.

Within Crippled Black Phoenix’s wider catalogue, Sceaduhelm does not seek to resolve previous narratives or replicate past high points. Instead, it documents a moment of exposure and endurance, listening closely to what remains when spectacle fades and outrage exhausts itself. It stands as a severe, human record, concerned less with declaration than with persistence, and affirms once more the band’s refusal to stand still, soften its gaze, or offer easy answers.

Septicflesh Celebrate 15 Years of The Great Mass with Special Anniversary Reissue

Since the ‘90s, Septicflesh have elevated death metal to a fine art. Alongside their Athenian brothers-in-arms Rotting Christ and Nightfall, real-life flesh and blood Spiros and Christos Antoniou rose from the Greek underground alongside virtuoso shredder Sotiris Vayenas. After the trio re-communed with drummer Fotis Benardo at the Season of Mist table during the 2000s, the maestros set to work on composing their greatest masterpiece.

Today, Season of Mist is celebrating 15 years of The Great Mass by announcing a special anniversary reissue. Fans can now own this classic album on transparent red-and-black marbled vinyl. This new edition also includes a color poster and embroidered patch.

“The Great Mass has passed the test of time”, says Septicflesh guitarist and vocalist Sotiris Vayenas. “Songs such as ‘The Vampire from Nazareth’ and ‘Pyramid God’ are among the most successful in our repertoire. Now, it’s time to celebrate the album with the 15th anniversary edition courtesy of Season of Mist”.

The 15th anniversary edition of The Great Mass comes out March 20 on Season of Mist.

UADA Announces New Acoustic Album, 'Interwoven,' Unveils Haunting Nirvana Cover

Enigmatic black metal masters UADA are pleased to now reveal that their upcoming acoustic album, 'Interwoven,' will be released on April 10 via Eisenwald Records. The album represents an acoustic journey tracing one song from each chapter of UADA's discography as well as various covers from the bands who've inspired them. In celebration, the band is now sharing a haunting version of NIRVANA's "Something in the Way," which can be found along with a video below.

The video was filmed and edited by Karl Whinnery and directed by Jake Superchi, with Evan Gandy serving as the co-director of photography.

UADA comments, "When UADA was formed, a rule was set: no covers, in pursuit of carving a wholly independent voice. With 'Interwoven,' we allowed ourselves to bend that rule. Recruiting a cellist for this project created a rare alignment—a moment to pay homage to one of the most formative and regional influences of my youth. While staying close to the original arrangement, we allowed our interpretation to take on its own bleak, glacial weight—one that echoes through the song’s timeless sorrow."

'Interwoven' is now available for pre-orders HERE.

In addition, UADA has joined forces with industrial metal artist MORTIIS for a very special co-headliner, featuring exclusive anniversary sets and supporting performances by Jerome Reuter’s ROME and WRAITH KNIGHT. UADA will be performing their seminal 2016 debut album 'Devoid of Light' in its entirety + a special CERMONIAL CASTINGS 30-year anniversary set featuring Wraith Knight. In addition, MORTIIS shall be performing songs from his groundbreaking 2001 full-length, 'The Smell Of Rain,' along with other volumes of dystopian despair. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets are now available HERE.

Moreover, after much demand from fans, UADA will be returning to Milwaukee Metal Fest for the second time since leaving their mark during the 2024 edition. The festival will take place at The Rave/Eagle's Club from June 4 - 7, with UADA performing on the 7th. More info and tickets can be found HERE.

"More than a sonic experiment, this album was a deliberate act of vulnerability. It was a personal and collective trial - a chance to step outside the acquainted shadows and embrace the uncertain light. The earliest intent was to craft something primitive and ritualistic, echoing the ancestral tones of ancient Pagan folk. Vocally, we anticipated a palette of whispers, chants, and throat singing. There was never a plan to explore clean, melodic singing - until an improvised vocal passage in “Djinn” revealed something unexpected. That unscripted moment sparked the foundation of what would become this album. With the band’s enthusiastic support, the recording process began - without a script, without rehearsal, and with full commitment to spontaneity and truth."

ABOUT BODYSNATCHER:

There are many clichés about battling adversity. That if you fall down, you get back up again. That what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. That it’s the journey that’s important, not the end result. That the struggle is worth it, that you need to suffer to make great art. It’s not always true, of course, but Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home (via MNRK Heavy) certainly makes a strong case for that argument. The fourth full-length from Melbourne, FL deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher, it follows 2024’s brutal Will Putney-produced EP, Vile Conduct and serves up another powerful barrage of uncompromising deathcore across 10 incredible tracks that see the four-piece—Kyle Medina (vocals), Kyle Carter (guitar), Kyle Shope (bass) and Chris Whited (drums)—turn the catharsis up as loud and as visceral as it will go.

Of course, that’s nothing new for the band. If you’ve heard Vile Conduct, or any of the three albums that preceded it—2017’s Death of Me, 2020’s The Heavy Void or 2022’s Bleed-Abide—you’ll know this is a band who have always pitted themselves against personal tragedy, who have fought on individual levels against the dark depths of a despair (often inspired by their own experiences of death). Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is no less harrowing.

THE JOTUNN announce new single “The Departure” from physical release of Summoner

Melodic deathcore band THE JOTUNN have released their newest single, “The Departure,” the final track on the upcoming physical edition of their album Summoner, out this Friday. The song serves as both a closing statement for this chapter of the band and a powerful step toward what comes next.

Originally introduced as a three-song release, Summoner Part I established the foundation of the band’s current era. The physical edition expands the album with Part II, which includes “Blood Flower,” the band’s cover of “Suicide Nation,” and now the intense and cinematic closer, “The Departure.”

The track was recorded in Michigan with producer Josh Wickman, known for his work with WITHIN THE RUINS, KING 810 and WAKING THE CADAVER. The result is a sharpened and fully realized version of THE JOTUNN’s sound, combining punishing heaviness with dark melody and atmosphere. The song highlights a band that has refined its identity and emerged stronger than ever.

An official video for “The Departure” was filmed by Tom Stumpf, who also worked on the band’s previous two records. The visual continues THE JOTUNN’s tradition of pairing their music with unsettling and cinematic imagery that deepens the emotional impact of their work.

Lyrically, “The Departure” explores the disturbed mind of Ed Gein, focusing on psychological horror and mental unraveling rather than glorification. The band uses the story as a narrative lens to examine darkness, instability, and inner torment, matching the song’s intense and oppressive atmosphere.

With this release, THE JOTUNN bring the Summoner era to a powerful close while signaling a new beginning. “The Departure” represents the band at its most focused and evolved, offering a glimpse of an even heavier and more ambitious future.

About THE JOTUNN:
Based out of Cleveland and Columbus Ohio, THE JOTUNN formed in 2021 after guitarist and songwriter Shawn Kahan presented a number of demos to Paul Kahan. Soon producer Cole Martinez (ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, WHITECHAPEL, ABORTED) was on board taking up the role of bassist and producer of their music. Nick Amato (ATOMIC WITCH) performed drums on the band's debut album Graveworshipper (2022), prior to Adam Biats joining the line-up. The outfit was awarded the Columbus Artist Grant in 2023, and subsequently in 2025. THE JOTUNN's EP Summoner arrived in 2024, and is set to be followed in 2025 by two cover releases and a new original track. Cole left the band in June 2025 on good terms, leading to the arrival of Leo Debevc on guitar and Londyn Hager on bass.

Black Metal Punks FINAL DOSE Stream New EP via Decibel Magazine

London's FINAL DOSE returns with 'Endless Woe,' an EP of vicious, and unrelenting hostile blackened punk violence. The five song offering is now being exclusively streamed via Decibel Magazine and can be heard at THIS LOCATION.

'Endless Woe' will be available in vinyl, cassette, and digital formats via Wolves of Hades on January 28 and will made available on Wednesday HERE.

In addition, Final Dose will be embarking on a European headlining tour with support from Prayer Position. The trek will kick off in London (UK) on February 4 and will hit twelve different countries until the final stop in Brussels (BE) on February 18. The full itinerary can be found below!

The cover artwork for Endless Woe was created by Final Dose vocalist BF and can be found below along with the tracklist and running times.

Forged in the aftermath of relentless movement and creative unrest, London's Final Dose returns with Endless Woe, an EP of vicious, and unrelenting hostile blackened punk violence.

Endless Woe follows up the debauchery of Under the Eternal Shadow, with five tracks that strip their blackened punk assault to its rawest core, distilling the band’s ethos into a harsher, more confrontational form. Short, vicious, and devoid of excess, Endless Woe sharpens aggression into purpose, pushing ferality and despair to the forefront.

Yet beneath the surface violence, Endless Woe carries a suffocating emotional weight. Subtle melodic fractures, desolate pacing shifts, and moments of stark bleakness inject a sense of hopeless repetition, mirroring the EP’s title in both sound and spirit; no catharsis, no escape, only the grinding continuation of inner collapse and inner turmoil

To be released by Wolves of Hades on January 28 on LP and MC, Endless Woe stands as a concentrated statement of fury and misery.

ETERNAL RECURRENCE Unveils New Single “Precious Stones,” A Chamber-Driven Take on Modern Symphonic Metal

ETERNAL RECURRENCE has released “Precious Stones,” a new single from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut EP, Eternal Recurrence, due later this year.

Blending modern metal with a chamber music approach to orchestration, ETERNAL RECURRENCE offers an alternative take on symphonic metal. Rather than relying on large orchestras or fully sampled arrangements, the project emphasizes the sound of real musicians performing real orchestral instruments, preserving nuance, texture, and human imperfection in an increasingly digital landscape.

Faced with the financial realities of independent production, ETERNAL RECURRENCE draws inspiration from the chamber music tradition. Unlike large symphonic ensembles, chamber music is written for smaller groups capable of performing in more intimate settings. This philosophy forms the foundation of the project’s sound.

All material on Eternal Recurrence was composed around a chamber ensemble led by German Dmitriev on violins, Steven Schumann on cellos, Maciek Szczyciński on double bass, and C. Alex Luke on piano. These elements are combined with aggressive guitars, lead work, and drumming rooted firmly in modern metal.

“Precious Stones” was the first song written for the EP, dating back to the COVID pandemic. Originally conceived as a straightforward metal track with no symphonic elements, early versions featured keyboards, rock organ, and a synth solo. After the project’s creative direction shifted toward a chamber string ensemble, the song was reworked with newly composed string arrangements. As a result, the orchestration plays a more supportive role on this track compared to other songs on the EP.

The single features two guest vocalists. Mordian of DIAMORTE and SHIELD OF WINGS delivers a powerful alto performance during the chorus and bridge, while James Dorton of BLACK CROWN INITIATE, DIAMORTE and NE OBLIVISCARIS contributes harsh vocals to the heavier sections of the song.

Lyrically, “Precious Stones” stands apart from the rest of Eternal Recurrence. It is the only song on the EP not written by C. Alex Luke. The lyrics were written by Jake Thiele, Luke’s former bandmate from UNTIL EXTINCTION.

Thiele reflects on the song’s themes below:

“My memory is a little hazy on the exact timeline, but I know that ‘Precious Stones’ was written at a time when the COVID pandemic and everything surrounding it was very much affecting everyday life.

I don’t think I need to list all the ways the pandemic messed with people’s minds and disrupted every facet of our existence, but one of the most frustrating parts of it was how political it became.

Anyone with something to gain from it weaponized it to try and take advantage in any way they could. It seemed like everyone, politically inclined or not, was divided into two teams, both of which were less interested in the general welfare of humankind and more interested in either profiting from the pandemic somehow, discrediting and defeating the other team, or both.

Combine this with other various contentious issues that were going on at the time, and people like myself who loathe politics and seek to avoid it as much as possible felt like we were being dragged into it against our will and forced to unequivocally choose one of the two sides, both of which were deeply flawed. Disagreement and compromise weren’t really on the table.

Even with COVID mostly in the rearview, all the various forms of media, social media especially, still seem intent on making sure everyone is sorted neatly into one of two boxes and reminding them that everyone in the other box is their enemy.

In short, ‘Precious Stones’ is about the futility and stupidity of the things that divide us and how we let them suck the enjoyment out of life.”

Progressive Rock Group RAIBARD Releases New Single "Path of Day"

Progressive rock group RAIBARD presents their new single “Path of Day,” a workers-inspired protest song that critiques the modern 9-to-5 grind with acoustic urgency and a hopeful undercurrent. Taken from their upcoming album Postscript, which is out March 6th.

Built around a driving acoustic guitar, “Path of Day” reflects the mental fatigue and quiet frustration experienced by those working within rigid systems of labor and expectation. The opening lyric, “Walking off the pier of endless views, working for the whims of the endless few,” sets the tone for a song rooted in shared experience and social awareness.

Drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm,” the lyrics suggest the possibility of meaningful change without defining its shape. Lines such as “whispers in my heart of another way, willing my own steps turning night to day” point toward transformation as an internal shift that precedes outward action.

Midway through the song, the arrangement expands as electric, effected guitar enters alongside mixed meter. This structural shift mirrors the song’s thematic arc, moving from straightforward rhythms into more complex territory. The contrast between acoustic simplicity and layered experimentation reflects the qualitative change that can occur when perspective shifts.

“Path of Day” ultimately centers on humility and openness, recognizing the limits of control while embracing the idea that new possibilities emerge when rigid narratives are released. Through its evolving sound and reflective lyrics, RAIBARD offers a resonant statement for anyone questioning the path laid out before them.

Arriving on March 6th, RAIBARD’s new album Postscript builds on the band’s progressive foundations with a wide range of stylistic influences. Despite this variety, the album remains cohesive. Each track shares a common musical DNA, rooted in melodically centered writing in which implied harmonies elevate even simple progressions and heighten their emotional impact.

The rhythmic identity of Postscript also reflects RAIBARD’s established sound. Melodies and harmonies routinely anticipate the downbeat, giving drummer Phil MacKay a dynamic canvas for inventive performance. On bass, Greg Dellaria provides a central layer of connective energy. His lines bridge harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic roles with subtle but unmistakable mastery.

Postscript was recorded across three locations. MacKay and Dellaria contributed their parts remotely, sending material to Daniel for editing, mixing, and mastering. Daniel’s own performances were captured in either his living room or an isolation booth, creating a blend of immediacy and precision that underscores the album’s emotional and musical depth.

RAIBARD writes for people who still crave direct sound and real ideas. The music asks you to set the news cycle down, to loosen the grip on strict computation, to listen with immediate human awareness. These songs are built for rooms where strangers become an audience and an audience becomes a choir. Not machines. Not algorithms. Just three players and a shared current, inviting you to rise.

RAIBARD is:
Daniel Gil – Guitar and vocals
Greg Dellaria – Bass
Phil MacKay – Drums and percussion

The Gloom In The Corner Erupt With "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" Video

Erupting into 2026 ahead of the upcoming release of their third full-length album, Royal Discordance, due out February 27 via SharpTone Records, Melbourne's The Gloom In The Corner returns with a brand new single and accompanying visualizer "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)."

A rhapsodic outing cleaving together sinuous verses and blistering dynamic shifts, "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" also hurls thematic pop culture nods deep into its core, emerging as a gripping and expansive step deeper once again into the Gloom Cinematic Universe.

"'Nope' is the ode to some of my favorite action movies and video games growing up," the band shares of their latest single. "A bullet ballet for metalcore that will — much like the definition of 'Hollow Point Elysium' — blow your head smooth off."

Watch the visualizer for "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)" Below:

A record that could readily soundtrack an Anime epic, a Netflix smash series, or a sprawling open-world game, Royal Discordance is certainly not your average metalcore album. An action-packed opus hell-bent on sharp narratives and astonishing sonic dexterity, Royal Discordance journeys between an all-out onslaught (previous single "Assassination Run") through to cinematic-yet-sinister brutality on "Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)," grinning chaotic frenzy on "You Didn't Like Me Then (You Won't Like Me Now)," and a double closing sucker punch via the two-track suite "Love 1: A Quaver Through the Pale" and "Love 2: A Walk Amongst The Poppy Fields."

Insatiably showcasing their relentless pursuit for sonic evolution, and recorded in 2024 with producer Jonathan Delese in Nashville, Tennessee, Royal Discordance also ushers in some of Gloom's most universal songs to date, all while remaining true to their chaotic core in the process. Whether channeling My Chemical Romance and positivity or penning pit-splitting breakdowns, The Gloom In The Corner balance their tumultuous creative DNA with an album primed for multiple revisits; and one that devoutly treads new ground.

Over the years, The Gloom In The Corner have engineered a space for total sensory immersion via a series of releases, spanning their 2016 debut album Fear Me, through to their Homecoming EP (2017), Flesh & Bones (2019), Ultima Pluvia EP (2020) and their 2022 album Trinity, with the latter commanding a 5/5 star album review from New Noise Magazine, praising it as "a real stunner and a benchmark for metalcore going forward." Translating their rich sonic universe into a live setting, The Gloom In The Corner have dazzled stages around the globe, spanning Australia, Europe and North America, along with aligning a horde of elite collaborators including Fit For A King's Ryan Kirby, Fit For An Autopsy's Joe BadolatoCane Hill's Elijah Witt and many more.

Closing out 2025 in Europe supporting Swedish metalcore greats Aviana, The Gloom In The Corner will support American heavies King 810 nationally in Australia this March, and will also perform this October as part of the entirely sold out inaugural Hellbound Cruise alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris and more.

Evildead to Re-Release Their Cult Albums "Annihilation Of Civilization"+ "The Underworld" on 3/27

March 27 will see the American thrash metal act re-release their cult albums Annihilation Of Civilization and The Underworld on CD, LP, and for digital download, including a number of bonus tracks. The original recordings date back to 1989 and 1991 and have been remastered by Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Armored Saint).

At the time, both albums laid the foundations for the band's career, which, following an extended hiatus, continues to this day. Evildead's music has always been marked by a brilliant mix of speed and thrash metal, with hard riffs, fast drums, and lyrics that critically address political and social issues, as well as themes such as horror and apocalyptic scenarios.

"The late '80s and early '90s were pivotal years for us," recalls guitarist and band co-founder Juan Garcia (Agent Steel, Body Count). "We were signed to Steamhammer, released our first two albums, and played some incredible shows. When grunge took hold in the '90s, many U.S. labels chased bands with that sound, but we stayed true to Evildead's thrash metal roots. Compiling and remastering these two classic albums was time-consuming, from tracking down bonus material to locating old photos. Our fans have been asking for these albums to be available again for many years, and we're proud to announce that the long wait is finally over."

PRE-ORDER "ANNIHILATION OF CIVILIZATION"

PRE-ORDER "THE UNDERWORLD"

Both releases will be reissued on March 27 worldwide through Steamhammer as CD digipak, LP version, exclusive LP versions and shirt bundles only at the Steamhammer shop, download and stream:

Laptop presents new single 'Confused', a sonic response to a fracturing democratic reality

NYC alternative pop outfit Laptop presents their new single “Confused” — the emotional and thematic center of their forthcoming album "On This Planet" and their most definitive song to date. Written in response to January 6 (now the 5th anniversary), the track captures the psychological whiplash of watching democratic reality fracture in real time, filtered through the perspective of a man glued to the news, overwhelmed by noise, grievance, spectacle, and historical déjà vu.

Formed in the late ’90s, Laptop released three albums with Island Records with praise from the NME, The Guardian and others for their stylized blend of synth-pop & irony. Now a multi-generational project with Jesse Hartman joined by his son Charlie Hartman, they are not observing the present from a distance. “Confused” is the sound of living inside it — aware of history, aware of danger, and quietly aware that even the people telling us what’s happening may not know what to believe themselves. Yet for all its tension, “Confused” is not humorless. Like much of Laptop’s work, the song is threaded with a dry, unsettling irony — the kind that emerges when reality itself starts to feel absurd.

“‘Confused’ came from the shock of watching January 6 unfold on TV — but the really twisted part is that we’d been in D.C. two days earlier, visiting family, cluelessly being tourists, while staying at the hotel where the lead insurrectionists were actually meeting. We had no idea. But the city felt off — weirdly quiet, strange characters everywhere — like the ’70s version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". MAGA evangelicals blowing Jewish shofars, that kind of bizarro-ness," says Jesse Hartman.

"Then we went back to New York, life felt normal again for a moment,, and then a day later we were watching the least normal thing I’ve ever seen unfold. The whole family was completely freaked out, especially Lulu. (“Daddy was confused…Now, he’s flown the coop” – or is it coup? - recalling the ghostly children’s chorus of "Another Brick in the Wall”). Once the song got going, it felt obvious she had to be part of it.”

That generational perspective extends to the artwork. The cover image — a stark, almost African-influenced child’s face — was painted by Lulu herself. Rendered with raw simplicity and quiet distress, the image feels ancient and immediate at once. Lulu belongs to a generation that has grown up with Trump, COVID, lockdowns, and permanent crisis — for whom confusion isn’t a moment, but a condition. Like her voice in the track, the artwork doesn’t explain anything. It watches.

Musically, "Confused" is hypnotic and rhythm-driven, built on a circular, Afro-influenced groove that recalls Fela Kuti’s forward momentum filtered through the nervous minimalism of Talking Heads’ "Remain in Light” era. The track accumulates tension rather than releasing it. It openly channels the philosophy ofCompass Point Studios— rhythm as infrastructure, voices as texture, politics embedded in groove rather than announcement. The song keeps moving, even as clarity collapses. And like the other“On This Planet”album tracks, “Confused” was written and produced by Jesse Hartman, which was tracked in Valencia and overdubbed in Nevis, a place the band came to call the inspiration island.

Pushing the song’s themes into visual satire, the music video is framed as a CNN-style news broadcast, withJesse Hartman as the anchor — calm, youthful, and unsettlingly composed — delivering chaos with the authority of media normalcy.Denise Gordon andGeddys “Ch4se” Fergusonappear as correspondents reporting from distant, vaguely defined locations, their dispatches fragmented and contradictory.Jesse Hartmanhovers as an ambiguous figure — part tyrant, part media creation, part projection — never clarified, never resolved. The result isn’t parody so much as a wry, uncomfortable mirror: a world where information, performance, and power blur until belief itself feels optional.

n 2025, Laptop released several singles - "Indie Hero""Additional Animals""I Don't Know", and “Weirder”, mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Julian Lennon), in addition to a Tom Waits holiday covercollectively drawing millions of views and reintroducing Laptop’s postmodern humor to a new generation.

“Confused” is out on January 23 via Hurricane Cove Records, available on streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The much-anticipated "On This Planet" album will be released in Spring 2026.

The album features the first single "Snake Charmer", with its sexy, hypnotic groove and killer guitar riffs it explores the age-old dilemma of female wiles versus a man's blind obsession. The second single, "There’s A Better Day Comin’", is a soaring Rock 'n' Roll anthem of hope. Its gospel-like arrangement is meant to convey a feeling of optimism in a world where we could all use some. In the third single, "Sad, Sad Song", Steele delivers a poignant ballad recounting his hardscrabble life and tragic youth. Guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye.

Steele said, “This is the record I've always wanted to make. It's my first solo record. No compromises. I answered to no one but myself."

All of these songs showcase Kevin's masterful songwriting across all the musical styles that have shaped his colorful career, including glam, punk, rock, blues, and even southern gospel. Kevin’s band Roxx Gang were one of America’s great bands and the first rock band signed to Virgin Records in America. Their debut record, the classic "Things You've Never Done Before", sold over 250,000 copies. In a way, they were the bridge between glam and grunge and The Mojo Gurus played a vital role in keeping rock-n-roll alive in "the Tens" working with legendary producers Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, New York Dolls) and Tommy Henricksen (Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, The Hollywood Vampires). With One Thing Left To Do, Steele brings his musical journey full circle with a truly remarkable record that you just have to hear.

Joining Kevin on this new record is guitar phenom / co producer Billy Summer (Florida, Luxury Mane, The New Brutarians) whose music has been heard on major TV shows and films such as Ted Lasso, The Affair, Harpoon, Life and Beth, Chicago Fire, Property Brothers and many others. The result is one hot slab of Rock 'n' Roll revelry covering several genres that showcase a track list of impressive playing and songwriting.

"Billy and I made such a great team. Instant connection of the minds. He knew instinctively where I was going musically with each song before I would even tell him. That's why they call us the Cosmic Twins”, said Kevin.

The band is an allstar collection of Tampa Bay, Florida musicians playing at the top of their game. They formed an instant camaraderie and the good times had in the recording sessions shine across every track!

Also, on Friday, February 27 he celebrates the release of his new record at Bayboro Brewing Company. Kevin will perform the new record in its entirety, backed by an all-star band of Tampa Bay musicians featuring guitarist Billy Summer.

Gunshine Releases Music Video for Single "Goth Girl"

Florida rock band Gunshine kick off 2026 with the release of their new single, “Goth Girl,”offering fans a first taste of their forthcoming full-length album, Grand Rising, due out digitally on July 24 through vnclm_ /  Create Music Group.

The album is now available on limited edition vinyl and CD here:

https://gunshine.diggers.store/

In celebration of the release, the band has unveiled the official music video for "Goth Girl".

WATCH the Video Below :

While the digital release of Grand Rising arrives later this summer, fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the record. Physical copies of the album will be available for purchase starting next week, including CD and double vinyl editions, alongside exclusive Gunshine merchandise. Physical formats will be sold online through the band and at upcoming live shows.

"Goth Girl", the lead single from Gunshine's upcoming album Grand Rising, is an irresistible hooky track with undeniable melody and attitude.  A track that blends different flavors and styles seamlessly, showcasing Gunshine's originality and songwriting prowess.  This track also features a collaboration with highly acclaimed songwriter/producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Skillet, Nickelback, Daughtry). The single was mixed and mastered by Chris Collier (Korn, Mick Mars, Whitesnake, Lynchmob).  Austin Ingerman shares, "Chris has worked on all of the Gunshinematerial to date and adds a heavy duty production value, and is an integral part of the sonic translation of the band."

"It started with several vocal melodies and a riff I had, then Jordan had a lyrical concept about a goth girl.  We then collaborated with Brian Howes, and he loved it and we finished the rest of the song in Vancouver, Canada with him," shares Austin Ingerman. "It was the first time we finished writing something on the spot just before tracking it, but that spontaneity brought out some magic. We recorded the basic tracks at The Armoury (where ACDC's razor's edge was recorded, Bon Jovi's slippery when wet, etc), and finished all the rest at his home studio (built by Mutt Lange's studio builder) on Vancouver Island.  I came up with the breakdown on the spot while tracking at The Armoury. It was a cool unexpected left turn that shouldn't work but does."

Hailing from Pensacola, Florida, Gunshine have built a reputation on catchy vocal melodies, clever lyrics, blistering guitar riffs and solos, and a lethal rhythm section. Their sound blends edgy, raw Rock ’n’ Roll attitude with a melodic, Pop-forward sensibility, creating music that hits hard while remaining instantly memorable. Combined with their high-energy, commanding live performances, Gunshine continue to enthrall listeners and prove themselves a force to be reckoned with.

With Grand Rising, Gunshine raise the bar yet again in an exciting evolution of the band. The album takes listeners on a dynamic journey filled with genre-bending twists and turns, shifting moods, and unexpected vibes—all while staying true to the core elements that set Gunshine apart. Featuring 13 tracks, each single-worthy in its own right, Grand Rising is poised to become a modern-day rock classic.

CONNIE CONVERSE HOW SAD, HOW LOVELY OUT MARCH 27TH

Nearly 51 years after the singer-songwriter’s disappearance comes the first reissue of this album in nearly 10 years in any format. 20 tracks (including a bonus 7" featuring the previously unreleased “House” and the new remix of “Playboy of the Western World” courtesy of Dirick Cummins) that are as poignant and potent as ever and showcase an artist that was operating light years ahead of her time.

PRE-ORDER HOW SAD, HOW LOVELY

Connie Converse was among the first modern singer-songwriters, a truly unique artist whose unconventional, hypnotically intimate songs were far ahead of their time. Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, in 1924 to strict, religious parents, she excelled academically and briefly attended Mount Holyoke College before moving to New York City in the late 1940s. There, she lived a quiet, bohemian life, and, by 1949, began writing a remarkable body of original songs. Those songs were committed to tape over the next decade, as Converse began recording herself at home on a Crestwood 404 reel-to-reel tape recorder. Starting in 1954, legendary comic artist and animator Gene Deitch also began recording Converse at his Hastings-on-Hudson home, where she was a guest at salons and dinner parties hosted by the Deitch family. Converse’s haunting music blended folk, jazz, and art-song influences, with sophisticated, deeply introspective lyrics that explored themes of longing, independence, and self-knowledge, later becoming hallmarks of the 1960s singer-songwriter movement.
