Listen to the new track "Running to You" here.

Watch the new video below.

A euphoric ode to relentless passion, "Running to You" is another instant classic from a band firing on all cylinders. Once again, the band has teamed up with acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus (Europe, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom) to deliver a music video that perfectly captures the relentless, in-your-face, '80s metal fury that's as raw and unapologetic as only H.E.A.T can deliver.

With Welcome to the Future set for release on April 25 via earMUSIC, the album is already receiving high praise.

International music press reviews have given the album a perfect 10/10, with the album being called H.E.A.T's "strongest album to date" (Hardline), described as "fresh as never before" (Classic Rock), and reassuring the world that "the future of rock music is in safe hands" (Powerplay).

Welcome to the Future is available for pre-order now in multiple formats: CD Jewelcase, black vinyl, limited-edition Neon Orange vinyl, and digital.

OBSIDIAN TONGUE Announces New Full-Length, Shares First Single, ”Orphaned Spiritual Warrior”

Progressive black metal duo OBSIDIAN TONGUE will be releasing their fourth full-length album, 'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn,' on May 30, 2025 via Profound Lore Records! To celebrate the forthcoming opus, the band is now sharing the devastating new single, "Orphaned Spiritual Warrior," which can be heard below.

Comprised of multi-instrumentalist Brendan Hayter (Thrawsunblat/Obsequiae live) and drummer Raymond Capizzo (Falls Of Rauros/Panopticon live), OBSIDIAN TONGUE returned to the all-analog Mystic Valley Studio, where their first two records were made, to print their Covid-era home sessions onto two-inch tape. Mixed and mastered in the analog domain as well by Alex Garcia-Rivera, 'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn' boasts a unique and unmistakable sonic force amidst the modern digital landscape; created with a total absence of click tracks, quantization, or sound replacement of any kind.

Hayter comments on the single, "The first track we arranged for 'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn' practically named itself - 'Orphaned Spiritual Warrior.' It was clearly an album opener, as complex and chaotic as it is.

"It felt like being dropped into a new world you knew you didn’t belong in - and everyone and everything around you knows it too. You vaguely remember that you came from somewhere else, that you had a dignified purpose there, and that there were people way beyond this place that understood you…but the worst part is you don’t know if they’re looking for you, if they’re trying to get you back. All you know is a sense of abandon and mortal danger…every step is heavy with some sort of impostor syndrome and every movement feels uncoordinated, jagged, and bound for disaster. You once could fight, but in this place it feels like trying to fight off an attacker in a dream and you can’t make contact or move your arm fast enough no matter how hard you try. All there’s left to do is find some sort of shelter, try to find your center, try to unlock the memories, and fight off the strife. 'Set ablaze this world to pass onto the next.'"

'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn' can now be pre-ordered HERE.

Lauded as USBM’s best kept secret, Obsidian Tongue has been on a steadfast artistic journey since their formation in 2009. They’ve never failed to retain the original mission of playing raw and cathartic melodic black metal as they journeyed further into psychedelic and progressive territories with each release following 2012’s self-released debut 'Subradiant Architecture.' While their debut won a passionate following for its perfect union of the grimy and the epic sides of black metal, it was 2013’s 'A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time' (Hypnotic Dirge Records) and its psychedelic dark metal that established their name more into the scene and showcased their ambitious nature even more.

2015’s 15-minute single 'The Lakeside Redemption,' with its progressive, haunting, dreamlike and triumphant elements, set the groundwork for their third full length, which took several years of tireless effort to complete. Released in Jan of 2020, 'Volume III' (Bindrune Recordings) was clearly the band’s magnum opus but all plans to support the album on the road became thwarted due to the pandemic. So all there was left to do was write even more music. This gradually led to a creation of not one, but three works: the first being 2024’s much-delayed self-released digital EP 'The Stone Heart' and the second being their fourth full-length album 'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn' to be released via Profound Lore Records on May 30, 2025.

In the summer of 2024, Obsidian Tongue, comprised of vocalist/guitarist/bassist Brendan Hayter (Thrawsunblat/Obsequiae live) and drummer Raymond Capizzo (Falls Of Rauros/Panopticon live) returned to the all-analog Mystic Valley Studio, where their first two records were made, to print their Covid-era home sessions onto two-inch tape.

The progressive black metal journey that is 'Eclipsing Worlds of Scorn' takes off immediately with the wrathful sounds of “Orphaned Spiritual Warrior” and “Snakeskin Tunnel Colony,” easily the band’s two heaviest tracks to date. These flow directly into the apocalyptic title track, and onto the vulnerable and surreal sounds of “To Forgive Oneself” leading into the acoustic instrumental “…And Still They Dream.” This dream ends with the triumphant “Theater of Smoke & Wind,” a true psychedelic black metal classic that still evokes some of the original feeling found on the band’s 'Subradiant Architecture' debut.

Sixteen years into the band’s existence, Obsidian Tongue clearly show no signs of running out of new ways to alter their sound - song by song, album by album.

Rise Above Relics Announces An Exciting Release! Compilation Album 'Yeah Man, It’s Bloody Heavy!!"

Certain ideas in life seem great in principle, though having the time, dedication, and perseverance to bring them to fruition, often renders them left well alone.

If Rise Above Relics had subscribed to that way of thinking, then this Incredible compilation of brain-mincing, hard 'n' heavy sounds from the golden era of the late 60s/early 70s of sub-underground British rock would simply not exist.

The mission was to pull together the heaviest and nastiest sounding unreleased recordings by the most obscure UK bands they could track down after seeing their names listed in the back pages of 1970s music weeklies, old flyers, posters, fanzines, thank you lists, etc. With often just a name to go on, hundreds of hours were spent (often fruitlessly) trying to track down likely candidates.

Of course, finding the bands was often only the start, as to get a useable track relied upon a kindly band member trusting their unique artifacts to a crazy record label they barely knew. Even after this, many of the acetates required microscopic surgery to fix an annoying skip, and all the reel-to-reel tapes used required careful baking to avert the dreaded 'sticky-shed syndrome'.

However, the results speak for themselves: ‘Yeah Man, It’s Bloody Heavy’ is simply the coolest, most unique and uncompromising collection of heavy UK nuggets ever to be released.

But Rise Above Relics isn't done yet; this is just the first volume of a major new series. And remember, sons and daughters of the mighty Sabbath: always keep it BLOODY HEAVY!!

Watch a Sampler for 'Yeah Man, It's Bloody Heavy!!'

'Yeah Man, It's Bloody Heavy' is a collection of extremely obscure but equally amazing tracks from the true underground of early 70s British HEAVY Rock. A time when Black Sabbath were kings of the scene. Compiled and curated by Lee Dorrian and collector friend Austin Matthews for Rise Above Relics, only two of these tracks have been previously released (on very low-key CD releases), the rest are completely unknown.

The CD version includes a detailed booklet, and the heavyweight vinyl includes an insert as well.

WEDNESDAY 13 Drops Ghoulish Music Video for New Single "In Misery"

Currently hitting venues across North America on his "There's No Such Thing As Monsters" tour celebrating 20 years of Transylvania 90210, world-renowned fearsome frontman WEDNESDAY 13 returns with the second single cut from his new full-length album, Mid Death Crisis, set to drop on April 25 via Napalm Records.

Following acclaimed, ultra-catchy latest single "When The Devil Commands," brand new second single "In Misery" is a spooky rager, scratching the itch of both goth-punk and sleaze metal while deftly ebbing and flowing amid heavy genre influences and an earworm hook!

WEDNESDAY 13 comments about "In Misery":

"There are too many love songs out there about people confessing their love to one another. I wanted to do the exact opposite, and confess the misery of being in a bad relationship. Hopelessly, madly in misery with someone. I see it every day, people miserable together. I see it almost as much as I see people happily together. Some people enjoy misery, and this song is about enjoying that misery as much as someone in love."

Watch the "In Misery" Music Video

After returning in 2022 with his widely-acclaimed full-length album Horrifier (#8 US Top New Artist Albums), as well as several major tours supporting his solo work and celebrated Murderdolls reunion shows, the Duke of Spook is back with Mid Death Crisis! WEDNESDAY 13 dubs the album as a fun, campy, "leave-your-brain-at-the-door" rager and a true return to his hard-rocking roots! Produced by guitarist Alex Kane (Life, Sex & Death, Enuff Z'Nuff, Antiproduct) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, DevilDriver) the album oozes infectious 80s sleaze metal energy.

Eerie introductory track "There's No Such Thing As Monsters" vibrates with electricity before industrial-tinged "Decease and Desist" kicks in full blast.WEDNESDAY 13's trademark crooning wastes no time entering the fold as he careens through the high-octane horror anthem, before tracks like "Rotting Away" and "Blood Storm" ensnare with metallic goth-punk energy that will have crowds moving wall to wall. Featuring Faster Pussycat's Taime Downe on guest vocals, standout heavy rocker "No Apologies" is a fast-romping exorcism of toxic demons, while the triumphant mini-murder ballad "Decapitation" riles up listeners with a catchy lead riff before making a hard left into a theatrical bridge straight out of a sinister '60s sock hop! Ragers like "In Misery," "Xanaxtasy" and "Sick and Violent" explore various genres of metal, injecting the album with elements of gripping heaviness for any listener, while downtempo stunners "I Hurt You" and "My Funeral" approach a more pensive territory.

Although its title, Mid Death Crisis, may suggest otherwise, the Duke of Spook shows zero signs of stopping on this refreshingly powerful and multi-faceted entry into the WEDNESDAY 13 hall of horrific history!

Pre-Order Mid Death Crisis here.

Traditionalist Bradley Gaskin's UNFINISHED BUSINESS Drops April 4 at Midnight

You could call Bradley Gaskin’s path to country music stardom unconventional, but this singer/songwriter is ready to prove himself worthy. The flagship artist for upstart 30A Life Records will release his Keith Stegall–produced new album, aptly titled Unfinished Business, Friday on all platforms [Listen HERE], while the lead single, “Accidentally Drunk”—an anthem for all the barstool fools shedding tears in their tequila—was "top 10 most added" yesterday.

A Duck Springs, Ala., native, Gaskin got his first break in Music City in 2008, after posting a rough demo of a song he’d written and recorded. Two weeks later, a country music executive heard it and invited Gaskin to enter a talent contest he was organizing. Gaskin won and was quickly signed to a publishing company, where his success as a writer ultimately lead to a major record deal. Despite landing in the Top 40 with his first single, Gaskin’s album was shelved in 2011 due to a label shakeup. A disheartened Gaskin headed home, where he hung drywall, worked at a sawmill and served as a janitor at his daughter’s school to provide for his young family.

But the desire was still there. “As a kid, I remember my granddad (LeBo) Hammac getting blistered on Budweiser and playing Haggard and Jones,” says Gaskin. “He had this crappy old guitar that he probably knew two chords on, yet he would try his very best to sing anything George did. I didn’t really know what he was singing about, but it made me want to dive into everything George Jones recorded.” Apparently, that feeling never really goes away.

Now, thanks to 30A Life Records co-founder Jack Cole—a fan and successful businessman turned independent label exec—Gaskin is back with a new album, including songs written by Grammy Award–winning songwriter Ashley McBryde (“Never Wanted to Be that Girl,” McBryde/Pearce) and hitmakers Ashley Gorley (“You Proof,” Morgan Wallen), Terry McBride (“Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” Brooks & Dunn) and Bill Luther (“My Best Friend,” Tim McGraw).

A 10-song mix of co-writes and expertly crafted outside cuts, each track of Unfinished Business reveals a bit more of Gaskin’s temperament as an artist, from the plaintive cries of the steel, electric and acoustic guitars creating a rich backdrop for Gaskin’s soaring vocals in “Without Her” (All my pain and emotion, like a storm on the ocean, drowns me out; I ain’t out of touch, with reality; Without her… I just ain’t me) to the rowdy, near-confident conviction of a man on a mission in “’Bout Damn Did” (’Bout damn stopped you from drivin’ tailightin’ into the night … ‘Bout damn talked you in to coming back to me … It ain’t the things I’ve done … It’s what I didn’t do). In between, Gaskin and Stegall interlace playful odes to the hard-working man and woman (“Bad Day To Be a Beer” and “Bumpin’ Buckles”) to the spiritual “Pray For God” (Gorley, Wade Kirby and Luther) revealing faith in God like only a child could have (When she says a little prayer for God… I know it takes a lot of love ... Taking care of all of us) with psalms of love and hope that lean autobiographical, particularly in the Gaskin co-write (with Stegall and Cole) “Stronger Than You Think.”

“When Keith told me he believed in me the same way he believed in Alan Jackson and Randy Travis,” Gaskin explains, “that’s when I knew I was finally getting somewhere.” Stegall adds: “Singers are a dime a dozen, but exceptional artists like Bradley are true music makers.”

Looking back, Gaskin muses, “I’m stronger because of what I went through; it makes you tougher. But there’s more to my story, which is why we’re calling the new album Unfinished Business.”

Gaskin will hold an album release party at AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville Thursday at 4 p.m. and is currently finalizing his fall tour. For more information, check out his socials: TikTok | Instagram |  Facebook | YouTube.

About Bradley Gaskin

When Bradley Gaskin finally picked up his Gibson J45 after a decade of self-doubt, he was responding to an inexorable pull he could no longer resist. Gaskin had left Nashville behind but couldn’t quite shake the feeling there was something there for him. Upon garnering the attention of a Music Row exec in 2008 after posting a rough demo of a self-penned song, Gaskin quickly signed a publishing deal, then a record deal. Poised to release his debut album in 2011 once his first single became a Top 40 country hit, everything came to a halt when his label deemed him too traditional. After Gaskin was released from his contract, he packed away his guitar, picked up his toolbox and headed back to Duck Springs, AL, to resume real life—which is where Jack Cole, a seasoned businessman and longtime fan, eventually found him. Offered the deal of a lifetime, Gaskin jumped at the chance to get back in the studio with the promise of recording the kind of music he wanted to write. True to his word, Cole started 30A Life Records, signing Gaskin as his first artist and brokering a deal with legendary producer Keith Stegall to produce Gaskin’s new album.

CHANGELING Releases Explosive Title Track from Debut Album

Fretless guitar visionary Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschläger is known for his work in Obscura’s Akróasis era, his live work with Defeated Sanity, Belphegor and many others. Now, he's spearheading his very own project: Changeling.

Together with core band members Morean (Alkaloid, Dark Fortress), Arran McSporran (Virvum, Vipassi) & Mike Heller (ex-Fear Factory, Malignancy), Changeling stands at the forefront of a new era for progressive death metal. Following the release of their debut album’s first two singles - the impossibly heavy "Abyss" and the blistering psychadelic melodies of "Falling in Circles"  - today, they're releasing its reality-warping, seven-minute epic of a title track.

Watch the visualizer for "Changeling" below.

Changeling is out April 25th via Season of Mist.

The title track serves as the turning point in Changeling's psychedelic narrative. Inspired by Lovecraftian horror, existential philosophy, and the bizarre hallucinations of a consciousness torn apart, its progressive structure mirrors the chaotic beauty of the lyrics, pulling you into an unsettling yet mesmerizing new dimension through the use of microtonal synthesizers, ritualistic vocals, oriental percussion and a full choir.

“Void and vengeance shall beget
A child from below
A changeling of clandestine soul
Comes usurping the holiest of hearts
And no one shall know”

Morean sings as an intricate-but-catchy fusion of progressive death metal, avant-garde jazz, and world music weave into a surreal and immersive tapestry. The dissonant harmonies distort reality, producing an eerie and unsettling atmosphere.

This song came from a few musical themes that I had written on the oud", Geldschläger explains. "From those few humble notes, it turned into quite the monster - a monster where I think everybody in the core band shines equally. At that point in the album's story, we're beginning to take the frame-work of tech/prog death metal into uncharted territory, so it seemed appropriate to give this song a unique, winding structure where a shorter pumping mid-tempo banger is book-ended by intensely psychedelic blast-beat driven parts that are building towards a quasi-black metal frenzy at the end. It also has some of my favorite Morean lyrics of all time. Not only does he paint a vivid picture of a strange, unfamiliar dimension through his signature wordplay. He also quite literally takes us there in the song's mid-section breakdown, were we envisioned a strange jungle ritual evoking some dark cosmic entity, somewhere between Lovecraft and Peter Jackson's King Kong.

And, as usual, the man took it to another level by adding a multitude of eery, slithering voices, which make the song feel almost like it's breathing. Oh, and this piece also has some of my favorite RIFFS (in capital letters) that I've ever written, as well as some quite extreme guitar shenanigans that I called 'layers of cosmic horror' during production. Get out your best headphones for this one!”

The visualizer for Changeling was created by Martin Matiasovic aka Shaped in Dreams (@martinmatiasovic)

Changeling blends progressive metal, death metal, jazz-fusion, world music and complex orchestration into an hour-long submersion into the subconscious. Players from around the world can follow Tom Fountainhead's lead with a new series of Changeling transcription books. Tom wrote the approx. 500 page guitar transcription book himself, while core bandmate Arran McSporran transcribed the 75 page edition for bass.

Both the guitar and bass transcription books will come out alongside the album on April 25th. The massive complete transcription book - which includes guitar, bass, drums (transcribed by Fenix Gayed), orchestral arrangements, vocals, lyrics and detailed liner notes from Tom - will come out on May 23rd, the same day as the Dolby Atmos mix of Changeling.

Each transcription book will be available both as a physical book and digitally through Guitar Pro or as a PDF. All physical copies will be personally signed and include a free download of the digital version.

Chicago's Push Puppets presents 'This Whole Endeavor' + fab video for 'All Together on 3', previewing fourth album

Melodic indie pop-rock outfit Push Puppets presents 'This Whole Endeavor', the second single from their new long-play album 'Tethered Together', as well as a wonderful new video for the cinematic 'All Together On 3', produced by Scott Thiele and Sebastian Gonzales, and edited by Daniele Arcuri. Both sonic gems preview their fourth record, out on May 16 via Flowering Tree Music

Based in Chicago, Push Puppets is the creative outlet for singer-songwriter and guitarist Erich Specht. The five-piece creates songs with earworm melodies and shiny production that belie often bittersweet sentiments. Specht (lead vocals, guitar) is joined by a core of Steve Frisbie (backup vocals, guitar), Kyle Magnusson (keyboards), John William Lauler (bass) and Greg Essig (drums).

Most songs on this album also involve a string quartet, with a horn section on one. We see the quartet's impeccable performance in the video for 'All Together On 3', with Stephanie “Sly” Young on violin, Katherine Andrick on viola, Molly Rife on cello and Kelly Jozwiak on violin (note: Janis Sakai performs in the audio recording).

Its timeless quality and melancholic reflection take us on a sonic trip that is as stimulating as it is emotionally resonant. A moody and musically progressive song about how we’re stronger when we work together, it builds to a cathartic reprise of live strings and harpsichord with a desperate vocal crying for a helping hand as violins punctuate the lines with elegance.

The latest single This Whole Endeavor', a rocker about a relationship that has ended, draws you in with an instantly memorable piano hook. Describing the ebb and flow of a relationship with flowing lyrics, this is sincere yet engaging, the song's reflective bridge and breakdown followed by a driving finale. With the first verse noting love at first sight at a bar - somewhat foreteling the outcome - the story takes a turn and ends in disarray, the author ultimately wishing it was she with him in bed rather than his dog.

"I get a kick out of referring to love at first sight as ‘a trainwreck just about to happen’.  My Pete Townshend fandom might be apparent in this one between the 70s synth phrases and guitar smacks,” says Erich Specht.  “As much as I hate to admit it, after reflecting on the lyrics, it seems clear that this song is somewhat about the relationship with my ex-wife".

The 'Tethered Together' album is graced with impeccable songwriting that shines with lush harmonies, angular guitars, dramatic keyboards and strings backed by a rhythm section to ensure a continually high groove factor. Erich Specht muses on relationships and loss, as well as the weight and joy of life, in a manner that is poetic and seems effortless, his lyrics fitting to the melody like pieces of a puzzle. Wearing his vulnerabilities like a badge of honor, this music takes us on a journey to unexpected places.

"This album offers a nod to the artistic excesses of the 70s, whether it's a wall of phased vocals or a moment where guitars and strings rip a quick line together between phrases.  The tracks are widely varied yet cohesive - and within a given song, you're likely to be taken elsewhere" says Erich Specht.

'All Together on 3' and 'The Whole Endeavor' are available from fine digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. The 'Tethered Together' album, now available for pre-order, will be released digitally and on CD on May 16. Push Puppets will hold their album release show at Robert's Westside in Forest Park, IL on May 30.

Ministry Releases First-Ever Music Video For “Everyday Is Halloween”: From “The Squirrely Years Revisited” Album, Out Now Via Cleopatra Records;

For the first time ever, Ministry has an official music video for the eternal hit, “Everyday is Halloween.” Originally released in 1984, Al Jourgensen’s rally cry for the goth community and misunderstood creatures of the night has remained a cult classic over the decades and is finally being given the visual treatment it deserves.

See the video for “Everyday is Halloween” Below.

Says Jourgensen, “I’m amazed and honored that folks are still listening to this song 40 years on. Fly that freak flag proudly.”

“Everyday is Halloween” is one of the cuts on the forthcoming album, The Squirrely Years Revisited, out now via Cleopatra Records that sees Jourgensen making peace with the past. After the incredible reception to Ministry’s With Sympathy and Twitch-heavy set at Cruel World 2024, Jourgensen decided it was time to reexamine his long-dormant synth pop hits and give them a fresh polish 40 years later.

Featuring 9 tracks (3 additional bonus tracks on CD), The Squirrely Years Revisited offers reworked versions of not only “Everyday Is Halloween,” but also “Work For Love,” “I’m Not An Effigy,” and “I’ll Do Anything For You.”

The Squirrely Years Revisited follows the release of Ministry’s 16th studio album in 2024, HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES, and comes ahead of the final new studio album from Ministry in 2026, a record that has Jourgensen teaming up with Paul Barker once again.

The Squirrely Years Revisited will be available in all formats including digital, CD and 4 different vinyl configurations.

ABOUT MINISTRY

Born in 1981 in Chicago, Ministry has been the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen, considered to be the pioneer of industrial music. In its early days, Ministry was identifiable by its heavy synth-pop material in line with the new sounds and technology that were being developed in the ‘80s. Ministry’s output began with four 12” singles on Wax Trax! Records in 1981 before the first LP With Sympathy in 1983 via Arista Records. As time progressed however, so did Ministry, quickly developing a harsher, and more stylized sound that the band soon became infamous for on seminal albums Twitch (1986), The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), and The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste (1989). With the release of Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and The Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry hit an all-time high in the mainstream musical realm and received its first Grammy nomination. In total, Ministry has been nominated for a Grammy award six times. Eight more albums would follow before an indefinite break in 2013, only to be unearthed again in 2018 with AmeriKKKant, continuing to reflect Jourgensen’s views on the frightening state of society and politics. The 2021 album Moral Hygiene marked a new creative era of Jourgensen and the band. Ministry’s 16th studio album, HOPIUMFORTHEMASSES, was released March 1, 2024 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Seattle indie rocker AudioGust presents punchy feel-good 'Here We Go Again', heralding new album

Seattle-based indie rock artist AudioGust presents his latest single 'Here We Go Again', the bright and punctuated title track from his forthcoming second album, set for release in late spring. This song kicks things off with an upbeat tribute to the unpredictable nature of creative inspiration.

AudioGust is the solo project of songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Chris Evans, whose journey started in the 1980s as a guitarist and bassist in various bands. After a decades-long detour in the software industry (including 20 years at Microsoft), he has returned to his true passion, writing and recording in his own studio. He has since released over three dozen songs and collaborated with artists worldwide, drawing inspiration from bands such as Green Day, The Police, and Foo Fighters.

'Here We Go Again' captures the artist’s late-night encounter with his muse—an unexpected, almost mystical moment when a song begins to take shape in his mind. As dawn approaches, the rush of ideas intensifies, and he scrambles to keep up, fearing that if he lets them slip away, inspiration may stop visiting altogether. With driving energy and vivid storytelling, Evans sets the tone for the album’s exploration of the highs and lows of the creative process.

This 3 a.m. creative encounter and subsequent search for its significance is a story that fits well with AudioGust's menu of hooky anthems for disenchanted optimists. With a sound vortex imbued with 90’s to 2000’s alternative rock, his guitar-driven music brings in a strong, driving rhythm section, big choruses and even bigger bridge sections.

This first offering is an intriguing introduction to AudioGust's new 14-track album. Deeply personal and universally relatable, this is an ode to the highs and lows of creativity, including some of his most popular singles, along with new material. Blending raw energy with introspective storytelling, the album explores the unpredictable nature of inspiration—both the exhilarating moments when it strikes and the emptiness when it fades.

AudioGust explains, "This album is split into songs that describe the extremes of the fickle nature of inspiration and songs that have come to me in both of those places". Offering a deep dive into the creative process, this record features six brand-new songs as well as fan-favorite singles, including 'Tomorrow is Mine', a finalist in the 2024 USA Songwriting Contest.

With a knack for crafting memorable melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, underscored by upbeat rhythms and evocative guitar arrangements, AudioGust creates music that speaks to the disenchanted and dreamers alike through sonic exploration of the modern human condition. AudioGust released his debut album 'Walk With Me' in 2023, followed by the 'Hope from Darkness' and 'Love and Pain' EPs.

As of March 31, the single 'Here We Go Again' is available from fine music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.  The full album by the same name will be released on May 30.

Renowned Rock Singer RUSS BALLARD Shares New Single “Courageous” + Video

Renowned rock singer RUSS BALLARD premiers his new single and accompanying video “Courageous,” taken from his upcoming double album 'Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired,' out on April 25, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.

This release is a real treat for all rock fans: the first CD contains new songs, which show once again that the inspiration never left RUSS, while the second CD includes brand new recordings of famous hits either penned or performed by him during the years.

About the new single, RUSS BALLARD says:

"Living in a mad world - aren’t we somehow? In a world where a little girl is a 'mother to her brother for so long.' I had this strong story in my mind one day… A dark one with a good end – 'You have the power to stand strong - Long may you shine on.'"

He also expresses his excitement for the album:

“It’s a buzz releasing a new album. What started as my 'Lockdown-tapes' during the pandemic became an album! During lockdown, my studio was a lifesaver for me, and I found new ways of writing and recording. The result gives the listeners a good insight into this time - have a listen!”

Watch the Video for “Courageous”

RUSS BALLARD is simply one of the most renowned and gifted songwriters in pop and rock music. His music career started when he was only 14 years old and he wrote a tune, which was recorded by The Shadows, appearing on their album 'The Sound Of The Shadows' in 1964.

During the 70’s and 80’s, his songs ruled the airwaves and the list of hits is pretty much endless. From “Since You Been Gone” (Rainbow), “God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You” (Argent and Kiss), “So You Win Again” (Hot Chocolate), “New York Groove” (Hello and Ace Frehley), “You Can Do Magic” (America), “Winning” (Santana) or “I Don’t Believe In Miracles” (Colin Blunstone) – just to name a few – everyone who needed a great song knew that with RUSS BALLARD they could not go wrong.

Numerous records/artists were also produced by him, like Roger Daltrey, America, Elkie Brooks, Skindred or Sada Vidoo. In 1974, he started a solo career (after his stint with the band Argent in early 70’s), which had its highest momentum with the 'S/t' album in 1984 (which included the hit single “Voices”) and the follow up “The Fire Still Burns”.

Since then, BALLARD has released 10 studio albums and is still writing and producing hits. Three songs from his 1984 and 1985 albums were featured in the TV show “Miami Vice” and were extensively played on dance floors around Europe.

Iodine to Release Bloodhorse's Long-Awaited Sophomore Album "A Malign Star" + Band Shares Title Track

Iodine Recordings is pleased to announce it will release A Malign Star, the long-awaited sophomore LP from Boston's Bloodhorse. The vinyl arrives on May 30. Pre-order it here

The record was produced by Alex Garcia-Rivera at Mystic Valley Studios (Vundabar, American Nightmare, 108) and is the long-awaited follow-up to 2009's critically acclaimed Horizoner album, which was released by Translation Loss.

The band is a who's who, featuring members of iconic Massachusetts bands American Nightmare, The Red Chord, and All Pigs Must Die.

A Malign Star is a reckoning — a raw, relentless journey through doubt, defiance, and the eerie spaces in between. From crushing riffs that pay tribute to self-destruction to compositions steeped in imperial dread, each track carves out its own space in the chaos. There's a biting critique of pettiness and alienation, an eerie drift through half-waking nightmares, and a full-throttle push to the brink of speed and control. If you like it fast, dark, and just a little self-aware of its own doom, then you're in the right place.

The band has also shared the title track. Listen below.

"The title is cribbed from a quote from Robespierre describing Paris as being held under a malign star. The idea for this song was to capture a sense of majestic, imperial foreboding," the band says.

Bloodhorse plan to tour in support of the record, as well!

Melodic Hard Rockers ALLIANCE Release New Album ‘Before Our Eyes’ Out Now Via Frontiers Music Srl

Melodic hard rockers ALLIANCE are pleased to announce the release of their highly anticipated new studio album 'Before Our Eyes,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the release of the album, the band has released the focus track, "Too Many People," accompanied by a visualizer available to view below.

About the new track, Robert Berry stated:

“Ah… The world is filled with people’s opinions, but their solutions are unobtainable. The underlying meaning of 'Too Many People' is, serve with care, not words, the circle you can touch.”

Guitarist Gary Pihl added:

“To me, this song is about contrasts. I wanted my guitar solo in the middle to use sounds that were very different. The first part of the solo is a clean, clear sound. For the second half, I plugged my guitar into a 1960s Fuzztone device. Just like the one Keith Richards used on 'Satisfaction'. You could say, one was pretty and one was ugly. That’s what I was going for!”

Watch the Visualizer for “Too Many People”

Renowned melodic hard rock band ALLIANCE, with a nearly thirty-year collaboration, and six highly regarded studio albums, return with their new release, “Before Our Eyes”, their first on the Frontiers label and the first in several years following “Bond Of Union” (1996), “Alliance” (1997), “Missing Piece” (1999), “Destination Known” (2007), “Road To Heaven” (2008) and “Fire And Grace” (2018).

For the new album, the core of the band remains the same with guitarist Gary Pihl (Boston), drummer Mr. David Lauser (Sammy Hagar) and bassist Robert Berry (3, GTR). After Sammy Hagar stopped his solo career to join Van Halen, his drummer David Lauser and guitarist Gary Pihl still longed for the allusive missing pieces for a new project outside of their main gigs.

Early in 1993, Robert Berry received a call from Lauser. They reached out to keyboardist Alan (Fitz) Fitzgerald (ex-Night Ranger) and gathered at Hagar's studio in Mill Valley to work through songs from their demos. According to a witness, “There was an immediate connection. Everybody in the room could feel it. The vibe was powerful and inspiring”. They immediately recognized the common thread that would feed their creativity.

A signature style was beginning to emerge, and the band was bonding even though they were spread geographically throughout the country, with Pihl in Boston, Fitz based in Texas, Lauserin Southern California, and Berry in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Over the years and up to today, ALLIANCE continues to solidify and bolster its long-distance collaborations. Though the scheduling remains challenging, their passion and commitment remain energized. Their musical benchmark, perhaps a product of their high-profile roles outside of ALLIANCE, has always been pushed to the highest standard. And it’s clear that they always strive to surpass their previous release. Thus, they have earned a loyal, patient, and growing fan base over the years that is sure to enjoy and embrace the new album “Before Our Eyes.”

The band states about the album:

“We are excited to have a new label and to be working with the team at Frontiers. With 5 albums released over the last 30 years we are feeling even more creative and energized by the possibilities that lie ahead. We are looking forward to reaching a wider audience and are already hard at work on album 7.”

ALLIANCE are:

TSS Announce New Album "END OF TIME" + Share "Something In the Way" Video

FEARLESS RECORDS welcomed French metal alchemists TSS (formerly The Sunday Sadness) to the label's global roster in 2024.

TSS have steadily built its reputation thanks to its innovative blend of emo, metalcore, alternative rock, and synthwave. They've recently added elements of phonk and neo-metal to their sonic blend. The band was founded in 2016 by Kirby, who sought to combine his emo and metalcore roots into a fresh new sound. The band quickly solidified its lineup with John on guitar and vocals and Hugo on drums.

Today, they announce the forthcoming release of new album END OF TIME, out June 27 via Fearless. Pre-order it here.

The band has also shared the video for new single "Something in the way."

With this album and track, TSS are about to put themselves firmly on the international musical map. The song is sung in both English and the band's native tongue, adding an extra layer of sonic thrills. The song's universal appeal also lies in the alternately sung and screamed vocals, thick riffs, monster breakdowns, and liberal use of synths, which add more girth and heft to the track. Stick around for the utterly explosive ending. It will knock the wind out of you with its ferocity.

"'Something in the way' tells the story of a protagonist who witnesses the fall of a loved one into the darkness of depression, with no means of remedy," states the band. "The track starts with a drum 'n' bass theme and gets heavier and heavier, ending with the most violent breakdown the band has ever written — a perfect way to illustrate the torment of the soul the band wanted to portray. The band likes to end their live performance with this track, as its tempo and progression allow for jumping, dancing, headbanging but also crazy wall-of-deaths."

Mission accomplished.

ABOUT TSS:
TSS's origin story can be traced back to December 2017, with "The Wrong Way," their firstsingle release. In May 2018, they released "Lost In The Crowd," a track that set the stage for their first live performance, which found them opening for Asking Alexandria in Paris. This show established TSS as an up and coming force in the French music scene.

Their 2018 single "Someone," a blend of synthwave and retrowave, was a turning point that showcased John as a second lead vocalist. This shift was followed by their self-titled debut EP in May 2019, led by the single "Damn I Hate It," which fans loved, thanks to its fusion of funk, synthwave, and emo elements. The band's growing popularity was further confirmed with a sold-out release show in Paris.

As the band evolved, they started to introduce French lyrics into their songs, leading to the release of "YAYAYA" in September 2019. Their originality attracted the attention of independent label PlayTwo, resulting in the creation of the album REGRETS in collaboration with Warner Music and TV broadcaster TF1. In September 2021, the band rebranded to TSS, marking the occasion with the release of the single "1996," which garnered significant attention in France.

February 2023 saw TSS embrace a more aggressive style with "Tes Pleurs," a modern metalcore track inspired by Bring Me The Horizon and Poppy. This new direction broadened their audience while maintaining their unique gothic/K-pop aesthetic. The band's experimental spirit led to the August 2023 release of "Fantasize," a viral hit that fused alternative rock, J-rock, phonk, and metal, earning millions of streams on Spotify.

The momentum continued with "Would You Be My Therapy?" in December 2023, a track that topped iTunes rock charts and caught the attention of many labels. In September 2024, having signed a deal with Fearless Records.

TSS's journey, characterized by constant innovation and genre-blending, has positioned them as a rising force in the modern metal scene, with a growing fanbase across diverse musical communities.

Eric Church Brings 'Evangeline vs. The Machine Live' to Nashville's The Pinnacle May 23 & 24

Widely renowned for his singular concerts, with Forbes remarking that he “frequently looks to shake up just how fans experience live music,” Eric Church once again offers a unique live experience with an exclusive pair of shows set for May 23 and 24 at Nashville’s newest live music venue, The Pinnacle, in celebration of the release of his highly anticipated May 2 album, Evangeline vs. The Machine. Pre-order/pre-save the album HERE.

Tickets to Evangeline vs. The Machine Live go on sale to premium Church Choir members Monday, March 31 at 10 a.m. CT. Become a premium Church Choir member here.

The one-off shows will see Church perform the new album in sequence for the first time, while also treating fans to a number of compelling performances of his most iconic hits. A self-proclaimed “album artist,” Church has always championed the power of cohesive storytelling, and Evangeline vs. The Machine is no exception. “An album is a snapshot in time that lasts for all time,” Church shares of the creative approach behind the highly-anticipated new project. “I believe in that time-tested tradition of making records that live and breathe as one piece of art – I think it’s important.”

“I’ve always let creativity be the muse. It’s been a compass for me,” he adds. “The people that I look up to in my career and the kind of musicians I gravitate to never did what I thought they were going to do next – and I love them for it. I never want our fans to get an album and go, ‘Oh, that’s like Chief or that’s like this.’ Painstakingly, I lose sleep at night to try to make sure that whatever we do creatively, they go, ‘Wow, that's not what I thought.’ I think that's my job as an artist.”

Lead single “Hands Of Time” is already impressing, having set a new personal record en route to becoming most added at Country radio this week with 135 first-week stations and earning immediate praise from fans and critics alike. Stereogum lauded the “juicy, fired-up Southern rocker about living in a world that increasingly makes no sense to you;” Rolling Stone celebrated the “nostalgic jukebox, full of allusions to songs and artists that were essential to Church’s career: Bob Seger and ‘Hollywood Nights,’ Tom Petty and ‘Even the Losers,’ AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black,’ and Willie and Waylon’s ‘Luckenbach, Texas,’ among them;” and Billboard honored the way “the song builds into a punchy, rock-fueled anthem as Church sings of turning to simple pleasures – particularly music – to fend off the impact of the passing decades.”

Among the other songs featured on the forthcoming Jay Joyce-produced album is “Darkest Hour,” released ahead of the project to support relief efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in September 2024, with all of Church’s publishing royalties donated to provide ongoing funds in support of a more resilient future for his home state of North Carolina. “That song had the chance to change things—it already has,” Church reflects. “The greatest concert I’ve ever played was the Concert for Carolina – that’s the greatest thing I’ve been involved with. This song played a big part of that night and is a rallying cry for the people there that still need a lot of help. As a person who writes and performs a song, seeing it truly impact people’s lives is the greatest thing you can hope to accomplish.”

Also included is “Johnny,” a soul-stirring reinterpretation inspired by “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and the Covenant School tragedy, which Church has previewed in limited settings at both his Chief’s To Beat The Devil residency and the recent Country Radio Seminar, leaving audiences in awe. “About a year ago, we had a shooting here in Nashville at the Covenant School,” he explained when introducing the song during CRS. “Where my kids go to school, my two boys, is about a mile from that school. I will tell you something, the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life – parent or otherwise – is dropping them off at that school the day after the shooting and watching them walk inside. I sat in the parking lot for a long time, and as fate would have it, as I was pulling out, Charlie Daniels was playing, ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia.’ I remember thinking, man, we could use Johnny right now, because the Devil’s not in Georgia, he’s everywhere. I went home and wrote ‘Johnny’.”

Church’s October 2024 release, “Darkest Hour,” saw the superstar signing over all of his publishing royalties to the people of North Carolina to provide immediate relief following the devastation of Hurricane Helene while also providing ongoing funds to support a more resilient future for his home state. The song is featured alongside current single “Hands Of Time” on his forthcoming album, Evangeline vs. The Machine arriving May 2, marking his first new music since 2021’s Heart & Soul triple album (“Stick That In Your Country Song,” “Hell Of A View”). That project followed prior releases including RIAA Gold-certified Desperate Man (“Some Of It,” “Desperate Man”); Platinum-certified Sinners Like Me (“How ’Bout You,” “Guys Like Me”), Carolina (“Smoke a Little Smoke,” “Love Your Love the Most”) and Mr. Misunderstood (“Record Year,” “Round Here Buzz”); Double-Platinum certified The Outsiders (“Like a Wrecking Ball,” “Talladega”); and 4x Platinum-certified Chief (“Springsteen,” “Drink In My Hand”), as well as 32 Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certified songs. "'Ruins of Insanity' tells a horrifying story about a couple struggling with a severe addiction and acquisitiveness in a dystopic world of chaos and misery, mind taken over by blinding lunacy so strong that reality and common sense is no longer in hand."

Founding member Janne Markus adds:

"Melancholy, own, common, hated, ashamed, loved, desired. The disintegration of two people's world and its reflection in everything around them. Leaving only emptiness. As a song this is the most straight-forward, catchy, melodic, not as heavy as the other songs on the album."

THE MAN-EATING TREE are:
Manne Ikonen - vocals (ex-Ghost Brigade)
Janne Markus - guitar, vocals (Ex-Poisonblack, ex-The Abbey)
Sakke Paavola - guitar
Aksu Hanttu - drums (Ex-Entwine, Tuoni, S-Tool)
Mika "June" Junttila - bass (Mors Subita)

Acclaimed Bay Area Rockers BLACK MAP Share New Single 'Badlands' + Video

Today, multi-genre rockers BLACK MAP share a new single, "Badlands," from their forthcoming album 'Hex,' out May 9th. The album marks their debut for Spinefarm. "Badlands" is accompanied by a new visualizer.

About the single, Ben Flanagan (vocals/bass) comments:

"'Badlands' is a song about ultimately exploring new heights. Moving forward and up. It’s immediate and direct. The spirit of the song reminds me of the music I was listening to when I first picked up a guitar. For me, there is something super cathartic about playing it."

Watch the Video for "Badlands" Below:

At the start of 2024, BLACK MAP retreated to Southern California to record 'Hex' with Saosinguitarist Beau Burchell behind the board as producer. The band embraced a clear, collective vision, shifting from the expansive, ethereal nature of 'Melodoria' to a more urgent and immediate sound.

Vocalist/Bassist Ben Flanagan describes 'Hex' as a body of work with a strong “let’s f*cking go” spirit, while guitarist Mark Engles emphasizes its balance between atmospheric elements and a driving intensity. The album captures the band’s signature style, with Mark’s distinct guitar work ever-present and a renewed focus on immediacy and raw energy.

For Ben, 'Hex' represents the profound impact of music, offering solace and connection. Drummer Chris Robyn adds that the album carries an unstoppable momentum, charging forward with force and intention. Rooted in themes of personal struggle, authenticity, and resilience, 'Hex' stands as BLACK MAP’s most powerful and urgent release yet.

Pre-Order 'Hex' HERE

Having formed in 2014 from the bands Dredg, Far, and The Trophy Fire, BLACK MAP has generated critical acclaim from the press as well as their musician peers.

Pivoting around a nimble balance of post-hardcore, alternative, and hard rock, the trio of vocalist and bassist Ben Flanagan, guitarist Mark Engles, and drummer Chris Robyn convene, congregate, and commune to power up BLACK MAP. Their union teems with emotion and electricity—which the musicians harness to craft immediate and raucous anthems underscored by unpredictable musicality and undeniable hooks.

BLACK MAP are:

Ben Flanagan - vocals, bass

Mark Engles - guitar

Chris Robyn - drums

Bay Area electro pop artist Matthew Nowhere shares 'Echoes Still Remain', teasing debut album

California-based electro pop artist Matthew Nowhere presents his new single 'Echoes Still Remain'a moody and evocative offering. Ethereal vocals lace through a pulsating soundscape like a brooding rhythmic ghost of celebrated new wave pioneers.

This is the second taste of his debut record 'Crystal Heights', slated for release in late spring. Of the 13 tracks on offer, two feature American dreamgaze stalwarts Lunar Twin.

As vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Matthew Nowhere explores the synth and tape-laden sounds of the 1980s with inspired reverence. Emerging from the intersection of old and new, his unique music weaves deep vibes and poetic lyrics with gritty New Wave beats.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and currently residing in California's Nevada County in the forests of the Sierra Mountains, Matthew Nowhere uses authentic analog production styles in creating deeply authentic and soulful music that speaks to the power of love to overcome all obstacles.

"Echoes Still Remain’ comes out of exploring ideas about the artistic process itself - the way in which a lonely whisper of inspiration in an artist’s mind can take flight and become realized as a concrete work. And in those rare cases, something that started as just a personal vision might even become immortal, something that lives on, becoming all these different things to different people," says Matthew Nowhere.

Earlier, Matthew Nowhere released the lead track from the album, 'Love Is Only What We Are', noting, "This song is really about longing… the deep and sometimes indescribable yearning we all have for love, for real authentic connection. It’s interesting - my job as an artist is to try and harness that longing, and give it shape, sounds, texture. The chorus is then an affirmation that actually, that longing is not a need or a lack… it’s actually a seed that carries with it the possibility of growing into exactly the love we are looking for.

In the video, I play with this idea as well. The black and white images of seeds in the first part of the song later blossom into these vivid, colorful, moving flowers. A similar idea is expressed by how inside of the black and white imagery of me singing, there is also this full color version, moving around, roiling, longing to escape and express"

As of March 27, 'Echoes Still Remain' is available from fine music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. On May 23, the 'Crystal Heights' album, now available for pre-order, will be released digitally and on Limited Edition transparent blue vinyl.
