DIMMU BORGIR - RELEASE COVER SONG OF DEEP PURPLE´s 'PERFECT STRANGERS'

Today, DIMMU BORGIR releases their cover of DEEP PURPLES's 'Perfect Strangers'. The song is featured on their upcoming cover album Inspiratio Profanus which will be released on December 8th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Silenoz states about the cover of 'Perfect Strangers': "The idea of doing Perfect Strangers came about quite a while before we actually got around to recording it. It’s a known song by a very well-known band that has influenced many to pick up an instrument. I mean, is there anyone who doesn’t like Deep Purple?! We incorporated our little twist to it while at the same time wanted to stay close to the original. But perhaps it is the more obvious aspects that come to mind when hearing it; the integration between the main musical elements that we also made use of since the beginning like keyboards and guitars."

Silenoz comments about the album Inspiratio Profanus: "We’re pleased to announce the Inspiratio Profanus release! We thought it was about time to finally compile the cover songs we’ve done over the years and give these renditions an updated mastering, all in one package, highlighting some of our many influences!"

About DIMMU BORGIR:

As they conjure new, dark compositions, DIMMU BORGIR take a retrospective look back, celebrating the band's 30th Anniversary and the seminal artists that left a defining imprint on their sound.

Conceived in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, DIMMU BORGIRquickly broke free from the boundaries of the genre, daring to combine a traditional raven black sound with opulent symphonic orchestration. They became pioneers within their own field, forging groundbreaking albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997), Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), & Death Cult Armageddon (2003), invading the entire world with headline tours and eventually turning into the most influential act of their genre after nine full-length studio releases.

After their last two successful albums Abrahadabra and Eonian and the remixed version of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, DIMMU BORGIR herald their 30-year legacy by releasing, together for the first time, a collection of their cover songs. Inspiratio Profanusfeatures a cover of 'Black Metal' (VENOM), the genre-defining 'Perfect Strangers' (DEEP PURPLE), fan-favorite 'Burn In Hell' (TWISTED SISTER), and electrifying renditions from the legendary CELTIC FROST, as well as other immensely influential artists!

NONEXISTER Share Video For "A Promise In The Air" — WATCH // Band Announces "Demons" Out 3/15

Zürich-based band NONEXISTER release their new single "A Promise In The Air" today.

The single is accompanied by an extraordinary video. Watch it
below.

NONEXISTER have also announced their debut album Demons, which will be released on March 15 via the band's own label (distributed by The Orchard) digitally, as CD and as 2xLP gatefold vinyl (180g), including a bonus track.

After dropping "Your Pain Up My Veins," "Drowning In the Void," and "How Do You Dare," the last of which was released in September, "A Promise In The Air" is the fourth single release from the now-announced debut album.

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Marco Neeser says about the new single, "'A Promise In The Air' is the antithesis of a pop song. It is long, it builds up slowly, it leads the listener astray by beginning with a pulsating synth line and seductive, intimate vocals, and then finally dissolving into an epic finale of guitars."

Singer Nik Leuthold adds, "The song is about the raging night of an impossible love, about two people who burn brightly when they get close to each other, but each burn in this fire. Now, they meet again and try to keep control this time and escape the maelstrom. But once again, they are each other's drug and plunge into this maelstrom, powerless and yet open-eyed, surfing through the night in a mixture of frenzied desire, overwhelming happiness, and deep despair. They know where it will end and yet they can't keep their hands off each other. An unstoppable tidal wave of laughter and tears, lust, hope, and despair sweeps them away, leaving devastation again in its wake."

The video was directed by Natasha Vavrina in Italy. Leuthold says, "Natasha Vavrina has done a fascinating job. First of all, by convincing us to make a dance video, which was certainly not our first thought. But based on other dance videos she's done and a wonderful concept, we understood what it could be, and dance is a great vehicle for this storm of emotions that the song is about. Madoka and Gil are incredibly great dancers and Paleta's choreography wonderfully brings out the moods of such a desperately lustful night. The place where the video begins and ends is the ruins of a club somewhere in the sticks of Italy, abandoned for 20 years and long since overgrown by nature. I came across a photo of it on the internet. It's a perfect location for this story, because that's exactly what it is: big emotions in ruins."

NONEXISTER thrive on the interplay of electronic energy and hard catharsis. As if they were soundtracking an after-hours club in the middle of nowhere, the Zurich band, consisting of Marco Neeser (electronics, songwriting, production), Nik Leuthold (vocals, songwriting, production), Reto "Fu" Gaffuri (bass), Siro Müller (drums, backing vocals), and Silvan Gerhard(guitar, backing vocals), swings like a pendulum between moments of industrial ecstasy and moshpit-ready outbursts.

On March 15, the debut album Demons will finally be released.

Leuthold says, "I am beyond happy that our debut album Demons is finally ready to be released in spring 2024. It has been a long journey to get there and I am very proud of the result. The collaboration with Marco is a great fortune that brings us both to worlds where we wouldn’t have got by ourselves. And so many great people helped shape the final product, tweak every detail, so that the baby is now a true beauty."

He continues, "Demons is a journey through the unfathomable depths of human nature — that's what the lyrics are about and that's how it sounds. It is dramatic, possibly disturbing, sometimes ironic, and now and then, quite surprising. There are many pumping grooves, perfect for the moshpit, but there are these eerie, strange things as well, that gnaw on your brain. The lyrics orbit all around human behavior. They are often socially critical, but sometimes as well just poetic and personal views on the abysses in our heads."

The album was recorded at Marco's home studio and at New Sound Studio with producer Tommy Vetterli, known as the mastermind of Coroner and member of legendary thrashers Kreator, adding another dimension to the production. Vetterli also composed the backings and adlibs together with Leuthold.

New single 'Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In' from THE NOISE WHO RUNS' (IAN PICKERING of SNEAKER PIMPS)

"Ian Pickering is among the most relevant songwriters of this generation, with topical subject matter, sharp lyricism, a relatable attitude and music that is addictive as F*&@. The same spunk as the progenitors of punk and orderly chaos of early post-punk" ~ The Spill Magazine

"Beguiling... anthemic yet accessible, gothic, grand and graceful, delicately dance-driven and dark, coiled and ornate, slow and seductive" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Poetic brutality... the anthemic grace and stature of something by The Sisters of Mercy: it has an Arctic chill through which a lyrical, passionate heat radiates" ~ Backseat Mafia

"Ethereal electronic intimation. Light and dark entangle... true splendour and prowess" ~ Ringmaster Review

UK-France duo
The Noise Who Runs presents ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’, their second single from the forthcoming ‘Come and Join the Beautiful Army’ EP. Sound almost familiar?  This is a majestic, thumping piece of raw synth-pop, all fat chunky beats and circling keyboards with a thudding, insistent bass, inspired by the 1960s mantra that defined the Hippie counterculture espoused by Timothy Leary - “tune in, turn on, drop out”.

The Noise Who Runs is the brainchild of songwriter
Ian Pickering (of Sneaker Pimps and Front Line Assembly), who also co-authored such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. Upon relocating from northern England to France, Pickering launched this project with Brazilian-French guitarist Felipe Goes.

As with the first single 'One Scratch Each', ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ - the mirror opposite of Leary’s statement - continues the more stripped-down sound both musically and lyrically. Felipe Goes’ guitars create a disenchanting counterpoint to the overall electronic charge, while Ian Pickering’s lyrics are loaded with a sense of contradiction, confusion, and straddling the line between sharp cynicism and optimistic critique.

Felipe Goes says, “With all these songs, it seemed better not to try and force it, and with ‘Tune Out’ it was quite complete but lacked something unnerving and off-centre, so the guitars needed to be almost imperceptible as guitars, but somehow add another layer of meaning or interpretation to the feel - something slightly jarring and disorientating. They’re coming from the exact opposite of a rock approach, more just able to change and confuse certain parts of the overall mood of the keyboards, rather than dictating and overpowering the sound."

The guitars are used sparingly but specifically to highlight certain points in the lyrics and to lift the music when it’s needed. ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ is just over four minutes but has the vibe of a much shorter pop song you'd want on constant repeat. Lyrically, the song is an update of the original 60s slogan nearly 60 years on, possibly refuting it completely, indicating the appropriation of the counterculture to result in the polar opposite of what was originally envisaged.

“Of course it failed on the most utopian level but it’s undeniable that without the upheaval and countercultures of the 60s, there wouldn’t be that liberation of behaviour and mentality that seemed stuck in the hypocrisy of the Victorian age. It strikes me as a total rejection of a tired establishment and that sense of respectability on the surface, keeping up appearances, toeing the line, doing as you’re told, obedience to the values of your elders and so-called betters," says Ian Pickering.

“But equally the overarching idea of the original phrase seems to be that introspection and dropping out of mainstream consumer culture would offer the solutions. And maybe they would have. But, as with any counterculture, once it’s been identified by the establishment, they take back the hard yards you’ve struggled to gain and they take back more than they ever relinquished and beef up the fortress around it so it can’t happen again. And then they get the marketing and advertising people on the case and sell it back to you with a cheap cover-all, shortcut to thinking logo and slogan.”

The lyrics for ‘Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In’ are relatively sparse and simple with repeated phrases, a result of wanting to keep them in line with the ‘pop’ ethic of the song as a whole.

“All this social commentary stuff is Ian's field of expertise. I don't like thinking about the world. In fact, I don't think I like thinking. Thinking is for smart people which I'm not: I'm a salesman by day and a musician in the evening. Thinking about the world we live in only serves to make us sad or angry,” says Felipe Goes.

Pickering adds, “I’m not sure it’s my field of expertise. Maybe my field of Hippie dreams. If we build it, they will come.”

The full ‘Come and Join The Beautiful Army' EP was mixed and mastered by Colin C at
The Cell Studio, whose clients include CBS, FOX, NBC / Universal, Showtime, HBO and Lionsgate Films and such artists as Front Line Assembly and Danny Saber (Black Grape, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Madonna).

As of November 8, 'Tune Out, Turn Off, Drop In' will be available across fine music platforms, including
Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where this and the ‘Preteretrospective’ album can be obtained directly from the artist.

Alluvial Share "Fogbelt" Video

ALLUVIAL — Kevin Muller [vocals], Wes Hauch [guitar, vocals], Tim Walker [bass], and Zach Dean [drums] — recently announced their new EP, Death Is But a Door. It arrives on January 12 via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band has shared the video for "Fogbelt." Watch it
below.

It's a live performance video and it will make you feel like you are front and center, moshing at an Alluvial show. The video was shot and edited by
Randy Edwards. (Instagram: Here)

"'Fogbelt' is a song that came from a movie about human cloning," the band says. "Kevin inspired that main riff that starts the song, and everything fell together pretty quickly after that. It's big, dumb, and gross. It turned our toenails green and we hope it turns yours green, too."

Alluvial are currently on the final stretch of their Fall tour with TesseracT. All remaining dates are below.

ALLUVIAL ON TOUR:
WITH TESSERACT:

11/8 — Austin, TX — Emo's
11/9 — Houston, TX — Warehouse Live
11/11 — Tampa, FL — The Orpheum
11/12 — Atlanta, GA — Buckhead Theatre
11/13 — Nashville, TN — Brooklyn Bowl

Darkness and despair are a breeding ground for creativity in the right hands. Since their inception in 2017, Atlanta-based band Alluvial have embraced the grim and gloom that the world has to offer through an intricately balanced blend of rapid-fire polyrhythms, haunting, sludgy atmospheres and tightly wound grooves. The band takes a stab at creating an even more sinister sound than their previous album, Sarcoma, Death Is But a Door.

"We wrote about 13 or 14 songs this summer, but we wanted to do this EP between Sarcoma and our next full-length. These songs align with the vibe we want to go for. We will always find a way to be darker from record to record in the same way that South of Heaven was heavier than Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss was heavier than South Of Heaven," says Hauch. "It was that concept of chasing the dragon to find a way to top the message and vibe on the last record while finding a way to do it that made us excited."

After releasing their instrumental debut full-length, The Deep Longing for Annihilation, the band hit the road. Although the album has racked up millions of streams, there was always an intent to add a vocalist to their following releases. Hauch had begun writing what would become Sarcoma in 2018 and recruited Muller, knowing his vocal prowess from the vocalist's time in Suffocation.

Bringing Muller into the fold immediately elevated the band’s sound, but Death Is But a Door shows the synergy that the band has developed from working as a cohesive unit over the last few years.

Although the band's mission is to drive into bleaker and heavier territory with each new release, they manage to bring balance to their sound. While they remain grounded in death metal, the band's approach finds them exploring all of their influences. From traditional thrash like Pantera or Metallica to darker grunge like Alice in Chains or Soundgarden and everything in between, Alluvial aim to keep listeners on their toes by pushing beyond the realms of death metal.

"I wanted to have a band where we can write meaningful yet action-packed songs. Something that is terrifying but breaks your heart at the same time. I think we'll always chase that, but we want to find new ways to be heavy," says Hauch.

With the band’s members being as ingrained in the death metal scene as they are — with members previously playing in The Faceless, Suffocation and more — listeners can rest assured they’ll be met with plenty of brutality throughout their music. The twists and turns into clean passages, atmospheric ambience, or any of the other musical avenues explored throughout Alluvial's music take them over the edge and invite listeners to return and find something previously undiscovered.

Autarkh Streaming New Album

Autarkh already sounded like the future on their debut. But the Dutch contemporary metal band have pushed their distended view of the digital age to further extremes on their new album.

"It is even safe to say that the Autarkh that exists on Emergent is not the same Autarkh that existed on Form in Motion", writes
No Clean Singing. "...right when you're able to put a pin in why you're enjoying a particular segment of Emergent, Autarkh propel themselves off in a completely different direction with joyous abandon".

Emergent
comes out this Friday, November 10.

Autarkh are known for hard-wiring extreme metal with glitchy electronics. Emergent still bristles with melodic dissonance and programmed beats. Lead single "Strife opens with drum pads that pound quietly, only to escalate into a towering chorus that's spiked by a thousand megawatts of industrial-sized riffs.

But Emergent reveals a new and improved Autarkh. This album is bigger andbrighter. "Open Focus" courses with hammering riffs, pixelated drum breaks and even an unfettered bass groove. After headbanging through another avalanche of a chorus, "Refocus" breaks into a crystal-clean vocal that's backed by radiant harmonies.

There is a darker side to Emergent. "Duhkha" seethes with ominous sound effects that could've been ripped out of a slasher flick. "Clouded gaze, clouded aura / Left behind with my past self", Nienhuis screams with vein-popping intensity, paying homage to former Dodecahedron band mate Michiel Eikenaar, who passed away in 2019. But through this battle with their inner demons, Autarkh find inner peace. Over a chugging beat and sky rocketing power chords, the band lift their voices to glistening new heights: "Remember all ye that existence is pure joy. Into the light".

Autarkh might be from the future. But they're still human after all.

"We are really happy that our new album Emergent is finally about to be officially released!", says Autarkh. "We feel this is a next step in our artistic development – Emergent has a more open, diverse and radiant imprint and offers increased versatility compared to our debut Form In Motion.  We sincerely hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it!"

Dutch contemporary metal adventurers Autarkh are back with their sophomore full-length album Emergent. Michel Nienhuis, founder of Autarkh and Dodecahedrom, teamed up again with guitarist/producer David Luiten (Inferum), bassist Desmond Kuijk (Dear Mother) and electronics wizard Tijnn Verbruggen to create the follow-up to their highly acclaimed debut album 'Form In Motion', released by Season Of Mist on 12 March 2021. Monica Kendrick (Chicago Reader, US) on the relevance of the group’s debut:

"And I’ll call it now: given the time to flourish and sink into the ears of an audience, Autarkh will become highly influential on the next generation of extreme metal."

'Emergent' is another testament to Autarkh’s imagination and creativity. It delivers increased versatility and contrast, and sees the band expand towards more uplifting and consonant territories. Form In Motion explored the boundaries of sonic extremes; on 'Emergent', Autarkh broadens its horizon and shows diversity and nuance while preserving its intense and razor-sharp edge.

With nine tracks, 'Emergent' is a sonic exploration of the inner universe where all things light and dark can be encountered. The listener is lured into an "Open Focus" (a meditative state of mind) in preparation for an inward journey along the physical energy centers. From the thumping synth basses of "Strife" and the menacing sludgy melancholy of "Duhkha", we move into the bewildering blasts of "Trek", where stellar harmonies will eventually burst through the oppressive atmosphere. The trip continues with the crushing downtempo groove that enforces "Refocus", as well as the mind-bending a capella interlude "Aperture" and the frivolous "Eye Of Horus" and "Countless Kaleidoscopes", to finally deliver all-encompassing enlightenment with Ka.

Composers Nienhuis’s and Luiten’s statements and states of mind capture the same capriciousness and unease of 'Form In Motion', this time leaving a more open, diverse and radiant imprint. With exciting vocal harmonies, bold contrasts and a vivid imagination, Autarkh sheds a bright light on the inner self and exposes it to the world with intensity and conviction. That makes Emergent an evocative release with a multilayered yet crystal-clear production that promises a bright future for Autarkh.

Desmond Kuijk: bass
Tijnn Verbruggen: synths & beats

EXTINCTION A.D. Get Confrontational On Newly Announced EP 'Ruthless Intent'; Drop New Track "Prodigal Scum"

Long Island, NY metal wrecking crew Extinction A.D. have announced their most confrontational release yet with upcoming EP ‘Ruthless Intent’, due out January 12th, 2024 via Unique Leader Records. Pre-orders available now HERE.

The band has also dropped their vicious new single and accompanying music video “Prodigal Scum” to usher in the news. Matching raw, personal introspection with circle-pit-ready ferocity, the track is a perfectly brutal example of the band’s no-holds-barred combination of metal, hardcore and punk. Stream the new track HERE and watch the video below.

From its inception, the band knew the ‘Ruthless Intent’ EP would capture a more visceral energy than their previous releases. Speaking on the EP’s creation, they explain:

“From the beginning of putting this EP together, we knew there was something a little more visceral than usual and we really leaned into it. Not just the lyrics but the delivery and not just the arrangements and pacing of the songs, but the sonic quality. The entire thing is confrontational.”

“Prodigal Scum” mirrors that intensity, combining Extinction A.D.’s signature ruthless riffage with deeply personal themes. Vocalist Rick Jimenez shares:

“I’ve never been shy about my feelings of the outside world and how the broader picture of humanity affects me, but it’s not very often that I speak about my individual little world in Extinction A.D. Prodigal Scum is a full on personal life experience and something that was empowering to put on tape and also into the video."

The ‘Ruthless Intent’ EP promises four tracks of Extinction.A.D.’s signature metallic hardcore punk rock fury. Featuring previously released single, "Morality Bait" - a scathing evisceration of those exploiting morality for personal gain - along with today's release of "Prodigal Scum" and two further tracks - "Under The Hood" and "Living To Desecrate".

Extinction A.D. will be bringing ‘Ruthless Intent’ to stages worldwide all throughout 2024. Stay tuned for more sonic devastation from Long Island's brutal elite soon.

ABOUT EXTINCTION A.D.

For almost a decade, Long Island, New York’s Extinction A.D. have been bringing an intense and ferocious approach to metal. The frenetic energy and power of their live show is now matched on the brand new track, "Morality Bait" and the new era of the band it heralds, following the band's 2022 full length release, Culture Of Violence.

So many different worlds shaped this band; from writers like Alan Moore and George Orwell; lyricists like Wreak Havoc and Chuck D; to directors like Tarantino and John Carpenter. But musically, Extinction A.D. hook up a tube of early 90s era of metal into their veins. Not just bands like Pantera and Machine Head, but the often overlooked 90s offerings from Testament, Sepultura and Slayer.

Thrashing just as hard as their predecessors, the band also break their surroundings down and deliver some heavy as hell riotous mosh; hitting that all-important sweet spot mixture of 80s thrash, 90s extreme metal and New York hardcore, all encompassed into one.

William Elliott Whitmore Announces New Album "Silently, The Mind Breaks" Out 1/26

William Elliott Whitmore is taking things into his own hands with Silently, The Mind Breaks, his first album to be released through his newly formed Whitmore Records. It will be released on January 26. He had the following to say of his new venture: "I'm proud to be sharing this with the world through our literal mom and pop shop. I'm excited for people to hear what I've been working on the last few years."

Pre-order the album
here.

When asked what to expect from Silently, The Mind Breaks, Whitmore said, "Imagine a large expansive landscape. In the distance, you see what looks like a house. You walk for a long time, and as you get closer, it seems more and more like the house is abandoned. The front door is locked, so you go around the back and enter. Sunlight pours into the otherwise dark space, illuminating a staircase. You walk up, taking notice of a stillness in the air. There are several rooms, you enter the last one in the hallway. In the room there is a closet. You open the closet and see an old chest of drawers. In the bottom drawer is an envelope. You open the envelope and inside there is a note. It says 'You are loved.' You are very tired, but you can't help but smile slightly. I hope this album is that for you."

Last month, Whitmore shared the video for album track "Adaptation and Survival."

ABOUT WILLIAM ELLIOTT WHITMORE
Born and raised on a small farm in Lee County, Iowa, a love of the land has always been an important part of William Elliott Whitmore's life. An appreciation for nature and its cycles being taught from an early age. That awareness of birth and death is a constant theme in the songwriting, through a lens of hopefulness and acceptance. These things unify us as people, a theme that is often explored in the music.

With a banjo, guitar and kick drum, Whitmore seeks to convey these ideas. For over 20 years, he has traveled the world, performing everywhere from Rome, Italy to Rome, Georgia. He’s played basements, backyards, festival stages, and Carnegie Hall, and has no plans to stop anytime soon.

"Life is hard, nasty, and unforgiving at times," Whitmore says. "But it's beautiful, too, and music can be a reminder of what we all have in common, a desire to keep putting one foot in front of the other."

Don't Believe In Ghosts Confronts the Echoes of 'Bad Ideas' in Latest Single and Live Studio Performance

Don’t Believe In Ghosts, the New York City-based alternative indie pop rock band, has just dropped their provocative new single, "Bad Ideas," through Imagen Records/Warner ADA. The single was added to Spotify's 'The New Alt' editorial playlist in the first week! Accompanying the studio release is a riveting live studio performance video, offering fans a raw, unfiltered glimpse of the band's creative energy.

"Bad Ideas" is a masterful exploration of the tumultuous space where stubbornness and denial collide with the stark aftermath of poor decisions. The song serves as a poignant commentary on the human tendency to cling to false narratives in the face of overwhelming evidence. With an infectious melody underpinning lyrics that speak to the heart of deception and the chaos of self-delusion, "Bad Ideas" is poised to resonate deeply with listeners.

Steven Nathan, the band’s lead vocalist, describes the track as a “sonic confrontation with the ghosts of our worse judgments.” The single’s repetitive yet evocative lines about 'lies multiplying'and 'bad ideas growing' create a powerful narrative of the damage wrought by clinging to falsehoods.

This release follows the band’s successful track “Put Your Head Back,” which gained nationwide recognition after being featured on the AppleTV+ show “We Crashed.” The band, known for their honest, inventive, and meaningful music, continues to build on their legacy with "Bad Ideas,"reinforcing their presence in the alternative music scene.

Don’t Believe In Ghosts, consisting of Steven Nathan, Dan DelVecchio on guitar and Ken Yang on drums, has been making waves since their formation. Their achievements include nationwide radio play, millions of Retail Radio plays, and features in prominent TV shows and magazines. The band's message, encapsulated by Nathan’s philosophy, “Don’t give energy to the ghosts of your past,” encourages listeners to live authentically and fearlessly.

"Bad Ideas" is available for streaming and download on all major platforms. The live studio performance video is also available, offering an electrifying perspective of the band’s dynamic performance prowess.

FADING NEMESIS, led by the powerhouse vocalist FARAH NAZ, is set to drop her re-imagined rendition of Oliver Anthony Music's hit track, "RICH MEN NORTH OF RICHMOND," across all major streaming platforms on Friday, November 10th.

This iconic track, originally penned by the talented duo of Christopher Anthony Lunsford and Oliver Anthony Music, has been skillfully re-imagined by an exceptional team of musical virtuosos, including Dusty Boles, Farah Naz, Larry Elyea, and Jason Riot. Larry Elyea's engineering finesse and masterful touch have polished this musical gem to perfection.

“'RICH MEN NORTH OF RICHMOND' by Fading Nemesis is a heavier and dare say, an even deeper re-imagination of a song which has taken the world by an awakening storm of anthemic emotion. This version done by FN renders another translation of the poignant story told by Oliver Anthony. This song is for all of us who have ever lost hope and have tasted the real exhaustion of life's devouring fissures. It's the voice of us all!" says f a r a h NAZ.

The video was created and co-directed by Farah Naz and directed by Larry Elyea at http://www.mindseyedigital.net/.

FARAH NAZ has lassoed the sensual tones of her Eastern heritage by combining her melodic vocals with the adrenalized energy of Western hard rock. The resonant depth of the EAST & the driving edginess of the WEST have fused seamlessly in her songs.

Born in Pakistan, raised in a suburban town in Texas, and having lived in the antiquated romance of the UK for over a decade, Naz's life is a blend of rich cultures, dark moments, and revealing stories. The darkness of some extremely soul-mangling childhood events coupled with the richness of culturally diverse experiences have given Naz a powerful and unique 'voice'.

Naz grew up with a father who is an accomplished sitar player. And throughout her childhood, greats like Ravi Shankar and others of his caliber regularly frequented their home for music gatherings. Alongside this wealthy backdrop of eastern music, her British and American cousins sent her western records from abroad. This audial infusion of east and west cadences in her early years has allowed her to forge an undeniably distinctive signature as a songwriter.

After moving to the States at the age of 10, she began performing at youth rallies, in school musicals, and other large-scale events and festivals. By age 11, she found herself singing to audiences of up to 5000+. With an insatiable desire to communicate truths through songwriting combined with a ferocious drive to command impact into people’s lives, performance became her perfect throne. Eventually, music took her to London, where she worked with some of the best producers & musicians and performed and even held residencies at some of the most renowned London music venues, including The Clapham Grand, The Half Moon Pub, The Troubadour, Notting Hill Arts Club.

A massive family tragedy brought her back home to the States. Naz took some time off to translate the pain into strength. Thus, Fading Nemesis was born. In the next short time, JASON RIOT (guitar), KYLE CHRISTIAN (bass) and CHRIS HAZARD (drums) joined the fN journey.

According to Naz, especially in these disjointed days, "music is the only sensical language that can express our deepest feelings, give our lives palliative hope and unite us, as a human race. Music expresses that which cannot be said and that which cannot remain silent". Serving this tenet, Naz and her extraordinarily talented band members are preparing to release their debut album.

With the unequaled production and engineering talents of LARRY ELYEA, DUSTY BOLES and TRISTAN HARDING, FN's debut album is surging with lyrical anthems, robed in rugged honesty and uncaging 'freedom manifestos'. With raging guitars, primordial bass and drums, hauntingly sonorant vocals and perfectly seasoned production, the songs are blatantly compelling and yet deeply welcoming.

The record is set for release Spring of 2024.

Embracing the joy and traditions of the holiday season with his modern-meets-classic style, Alex Hall brightens the holidays with a newly-released collection of festive songs. Infused with his signature outlaw spirit and heartfelt melodies, the Monument Records recording artist shares Season’s Greetings From Alex Hall, a three song holiday bundle featuring covers of “Please Come Home for Christmas” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” alongside original “Reason To Believe,” available now.

Listen to Season’s Greetings From Alex Hall
Below.

Drawing inspiration from classics previously sung by legends Charles Brown, Judy Garland and more, Hall breathes life into these timeless melodies with his velvety vocals. Following the release of his eagerly awaited debut album
Side Effects of The Heart on Sept. 15, Season's Greetings From Alex Hall comes as a delightful holiday treat to listeners with an added original song, “Reason To Believe,” drawn from re-experiencing the magic of the holidays as a parent through the lens of a child.

“I love classic Christmas songs, from Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ to Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town.’ Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, so I decided to record some Christmas music of my own,” shares Hall. “I hope you love my take on a few of the classics, but it was important to me to write a Christmas song of my own. I have a two-year-old son, and seeing Christmas through his eyes has brought back so much of the magic we can lose as adults.

“I hope you enjoy untying the bow on these songs, and maybe they can become part of your own holiday tradition for years to come! Merry Christmas and happy holidays.”

Hall is currently on the road through mid-December for his Side Effects Of The Heart Tour, presented by PBR Cowboy Bar and benefiting the CMA Foundation. The tour includes stops in Baltimore, MD; Louisville, KY; St. Louis, MO and more. For more information, visit

About Alex Hall:
Alex Hall launches the next chapter of his career with his brand-new record, Side Effects Of The Heart. A project that tells the stories of everything the singer, songwriter, and guitar player’s heart has been through these last few years.

Growing up on a small horse farm on the outskirts of Gainesville, GA, Hall’s earliest memory is hearing Elvis Presley on his grandfather’s radio. It’s a sound he never forgot, and one that prompted him to pick up a guitar for the first time when he was only four years old. He started learning the instrument seriously in middle school, and quickly graduated from choir solos to bar gigs. By the time he was in high school, Hall was playing over 150 shows a year.

After graduation, Hall moved to Nashville, TN and signed with Monument Records. He spent the last few years opening for Tanya Tucker and hitting the road with Brandy Clark, Little Big Town, and Tenille Townes. His debut EP on Monument Records, Six Strings, was a guitar focused project featuring the playing and vocal stylings of Hall’s heroes and friends – Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, John Osborne (of Brothers Osborne), Brad Tursi (of Old Dominion), Tenille Townes, and Kassi Ashton. Six Strings gained national acclaim from the likes of Vintage Guitar Magazine, Rolling Stone and Cowboys & Indians, and helped Hall to be named to the Fender Next 2021 program.

Now, ready to bare it all, Hall is releasing his first full project as an artist with Side Effects Of The Heart. Out now, the album has a song for everyone…and a few for the dreamers out there like Alex Hall himself.

WICKED TO UNLEASH "LOST IN THE DARK" SINGLE/VIDEO FROM FORTHCOMING 'SUNBURN' ALBUM

One of today's most theatrical rockers, Wicked, has announced the release of their newest album, 'Sunburn,’ to be released in March of 2024. And the band (singer/guitarist Chad Michael, guitarist Scotty V, bassist Danny, and drummer Gunnar) is especially pleased with their latest effort, as they explained in the statement:

"The new album 'Sunburn' is a deliberate e-brake in our music and state of the band. After years of doing 80 mph in a 30 with no hands on the wheel, we decided there was so much more to what we had to share musically. Produced by 10-time Grammy winner Ignacio Molino, released through The Orchard and accompanied by 5 singles / videos, the album bares an authentic reflection on the highs and lows of being in a relentlessly hard-working rock band with all the euphoria and pain along the way. We looked inside for inspiration and made an album for us and not anyone else. Don’t miss the blend of inspirations from Third Eye Blind to Thin Lizzy and everything in between, the personified characters from each single like the 'Gorgeous' robot girl, and the cinematic destination music videos. Before you know it, you’ll be 'living like a Sunburn!'”

The striking video for one of the album's highlights, "Lost in the Dark," was directed and filmed by Longwood Media Group in Salem, MA, and features Salem’s premier Occult Shop “Hermetic Arts” and owner / ceremonial magician David Newman. The clip also stars actress Kelly Monteiro, and depicts a story of love and passion found and lost in one of the most magical cities.

The video can be viewed below, while the single can be purchased or streamed via
https://lnk.to/lostinthedarkpresave

The song itself is the first single off the upcoming sophomore album, 'Sunburn.' The song kicks off the band’s new release pulling from influences like Boston, Thin Lizzy, Toto, and Third Eye Blind. A melodic hard rock song about “the good girl gone bad” who’s shrouded in the dark arts and that type of “I can fix you” relationship.  A song that should be cranked up to 11 as you roll up to that tailgate, windows down, smoke billowing, on that I’m looking for trouble kinda night. Fuel injected with passion, urgency, and power like any good cocktail mix of cannon-like drums, harmonizing guitars, lustful lyrics, and fiery vocals.

“When magic and romance meet in a hard rock power pop tune” - Chad Michael

“The lyrics paint just the right picture of that girl who is trouble, but you just can’t get enough of” - Danny

“Some chick inspired a sexy, passionate song, which inspired an even sexier video, and that inspires me” - Scotty V

“I can’t believe it’s actually happening!” - Gunnar

VITRIOL Announces New Album, Unleashes Music Video for First Single, "The Flowers of Sadism"

Death metal battalion VITRIOL is proud to reveal that it will be releasing its sophomore full-length, 'Suffer & Become,' on January 26, 2024 via Century Media Records! In celebration, the band is now unleashing the emotionally-charged, pummeling first single, "The Flowers of Sadism," along with a music video! The clip, which was created by Vile Luxe Entertainment, can be found below.

VITRIOL guitarist and vocalist Kyle Rasmussen explains of the single's deeply personal themes, "'Flowers' explores the topic of early developmental trauma and the resulting emotional alchemy that can lead to the development of sadistic impulses. While not being an ideal strategy in the presence of healthier alternatives, embracing my more vicious instincts was the key to my psychological and emotional survival at a time when my environment was both hostile and inescapable. It marks the beginning of a complicated journey of seduction by the necessary evils adopted in the pursuit of that survival."

Pre-orders are now live for 'Suffer & Become' HERE. The album will be available digitally as well as in Standard CD Jewelcase, Ltd. Deep Blood Red LP (All ex-US Retail), Orange Crush LP (All US Retail), and Red / Yellow / Black Transp. Splatter LP (Band Exclusive).

For Portland, Oregon's VITRIOL, nothing comes easy. Nothing. The title of their second Century Media album, 'Suffer & Become,' says it all. "The title really sums it up," says guitarist and vocalist Kyle Rasmussen. "I pushed things to a point while making this album where it almost became untenable. Things that were supposed to be done in weeks took months. It wasn't easy, but I think it was suffering well spent."

At the core of 'Suffer & Become' lies a profound sense of extremity and unease. This very essence defines Vitriol as the vanguard in death metal's evolutionary path—a sonic landscape characterized by its profound darkness, density, and the infusion of nanotechnological precision interwoven with intense, seething emotions. Not easy listening in the slightest. Since forming in 2013, Rasmussen and longtime co-conspirator, bassist, and co-vocalist Adam Roethlisberger have worked with a single-minded vision: to push the genre to its breaking point and invent a new uncompromising paradigm in the process. VITRIOL is a masterclass in pain – and that's just their jumping-off point.

Recounting VITRIOL's initial journey into the outer fringes of extremity, Rasmussen is characteristically thoughtful. "I was starving for something that didn't pull any punches," says Kyle of VITRIOL's caustic mission statement, which detonated into the realm of extreme metal with 2013's 'Antichrist' demo. "Death metal was important to me because it speaks to an aggression, a frustration that I had when I was younger. It wasn't just a sonic connection but an emotional connection, which made music almost a means to an end. What I saw happening in extreme metal at the time was almost a removal of emotion in favor of musicality, that fire, that piss and vinegar spirit. Basically, I wanted something that wanted me dead."

With 2017's 'Pain Will Define Their Death' EP, VITRIOL took its spot as one of the underground's most uncompromising exponents, leading them to join forces with Century Media. The resultant album, 2019's "To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice," was nothing short of a crucial next step for the band and the genre itself. Decibel Magazine said, "Vitriol leave no doubt they are one of the best the genre has to offer, with shades of Nile, Hate Eternal, and Anaal Nathrakh frequently peeking through." Hitting the road that year, at first in Europe with Nile and then in the US with Cattle Decapitation and Atheist, and then Vader before the onset of Covid, VITRIOL was quick to establish themselves as much of an uncompromising force onstage as they are on record.

"Doing 'Black Seeds of Vengeance' alongside Karl Sanders [of Nile] onstage in Europe on our very first tour was nothing short of a 'pinch me' moment," Kyle recounts from VITRIOL's early touring days. "More recently, we were touring with Morbid Angel, and Steve Tucker, who is my favorite Morbid Angel vocalist, came out of his dressing room in a VITRIOL t-shirt and exclaimed that we were one of his favorite new bands! That blew my mind as a fan, first and foremost – a total 'Holy Fuck!' moment."

'Suffer & Become' is nothing short of a benchmark for VITRIOL (rounded out by guitarist Daniel Martinez and Matt Kilner). It's as dense and blackened as anything to erupt from Rasmussen's vision of sonic disorder. From the onset of the opening track, "Shame and Its Afterbirth," there's a new sense of openness, grandeur, and occasional beauty in VITRIOL's aural arsenal. "I wanted to have an album that had a stark duality to it," says Kyle. "Very high highs and very low lows. We're very familiar with the lows but not so much with the triumphant highs. I wanted the album to have more of a sense of optimism to it, both lyrically and musically. I wanted the album to convey a sense of optimism that probably gets lost in the black maelstrom that is the first album."

Produced by Rasmussen and mixed by Dave Otero (Archspire, Cattle Decapitation), 'Suffer &

Become' isn't merely the sound of VITRIOL upping the ante in death metal's musical arms race; it is also the sound of salvation for its driving force. "Living in the world of that first album was very difficult for me," says Rasmussen. "It's not a nice place. It was very intentionally imbalanced in the same way a horror film is imbalanced. I wanted a healthier world for me to live in, and I believe I achieved that."

Not that the writing and recording of 'Suffer & Become' was anything short of soul-rending. Rasmussen labored over the creation of the album in the studio, on tour in hotel rooms, to the point of painstaking obsessiveness. Kyle is straightforward about the grueling record-making process and its personal impact. "The record feels a bit like a Jungian Dante's Inferno," he states. "Plumbing the circles of my personal, psychological, and spiritual hell and then purposely refocusing it so it's not the unhinged, dark catharsis of the first album. This record is a lot more vulnerable."

Songs like "Weaponized Loss" or "The Flowers of Sadism" are what Kyle describes as a "dark baptism" in comparison to the absolute darkness of "To Bathe…". The sound of VITRIOL remains as joyless and dark as ever, but with a glimmer of hope. VITRIOL has taken its trauma-put-to-sound approach to the next level and discovered a new sense of beauty in the blackness. 'Suffer & Become' is death metal with a bloody, beating heart.

WINTERHORDE Announces New Album "Neptunian" And Releases Video For First Single!

WINTERHORDE, the Progressive Extreme Metal group hailing from Northern Israel, has announced the release of its highly anticipated fourth studio album, Neptunian, due out December 8 via Noble Demon. In preparation for this monumental release, the band has unveiled the first single "The Spirit of Freedom", which showcases the band's unique blend of enchanting tenderness and brutal intensity. The track is accompanied by a brand new video, which you can watch below.

WINTERHORDE bassist and founder, Alexander Latman, comments on "The Spirit Of Freedom":
"This song deals with the unbreakable spirit of simple people, who are ready to die for keeping their land free. We wanted to show this spirit, not only in the warrior himself but also in his family members who are filled with pride of their fallen loved one. The simple people are those who sacrifice their lives for unnecessary wars waged by rich people’s games. They die, but never give up their freedom and identity. The conflict of life versus freedom at any cost".

Since their formation in 2002, WINTERHORDE has been on a relentless journey of musical evolution, constantly pushing the boundaries of their craft. Their unwavering dedication to becoming something greater with each chord they play and record has earned them a well-deserved reputation as one of the most articulate and innovative acts in today's extreme metal. Following the success of their third studio album, Maestro (2016), WINTERHORDE took a six-year hiatus to regroup and recharge. Now, filled with a new lineup and an abundance of creative energy, the band is ready to embark on their next musical odyssey with Neptunian.

To give fans a taste of what's to come, WINTERHORDE released the off-album digital single, "The Greatest Plague of Earth," in June 2022. The overwhelming response to this release caught the attention of powerhouse label Noble Demon, leading to a record deal and the forthcoming release of Neptunian in December 2023. The album was expertly mixed and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Paradise Lost, Insomnium, Moonspell), ensuring a powerful and immersive listening experience.

Stream Carnation's New Album

'Cursed Mortality' isn't a revival. It's a bold step into the future for one of the most brutally innovative bands in all of death metal.

Carnation's new album comes out tomorrow, November 3. But you can get a sneak peak at 'Cursed Mortality' thanks to Outburn, who are premiering the full album stream a day early.

Carnation have been bringing back old-school death metal for the past two decades. On 'Cursed Mortality', the Belgian band are still deadly serious about inflicting maximum corporeal punishment. "Maruta" is named after an especially brutal army unit, while "Cycle of Suffering" pumps thunderous double bass kicks over a solo that grabs you by the throat.

"The manic mayhem that puts a big smile on the faces of death metal fans is front and centre..." according to
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life.

But 'Cursed Mortality' also shows off Carnation's range - literally. "Replicant" flexes clean vocals. Even "Metropolis", which barrels ahead like a train with its brakes cut, comes with a personal touch; the band are all too familiar with the relentless pace of modern life after vocalist Simon Duson had the life sucked out of him by his last job.

"It's so refreshing when a band tweaks their formula and its pays off in spades",
The Metal Pit writes in an early review of 'Cursed Mortality'.

The album's title track now stands as Carnation's magnum opus, a nearly eight-minute long reflection on growing old that's shadowed by melodic leads, gloomy synths and tortured growls.

"This is definitely my favorite record from Carnation", says
A&P Reacts. "It feels like a more natural and focused album".

"Finally, after two years of hard work and unwavering commitment, the release date for our third album 'Cursed Mortality' has arrived", says Carnation. "We've been anticipating this moment for many months, and we can't emphasize enough how excited we are to release this album. We hope we were able to strike a balance between our strong death metal foundation and the new progressive elements that we've added as a result of our evolution as artists. This record has been a labor of love for us, and we are genuinely curious about its reception. Most importantly, we would like to thank all the fans, press contacts, promoters, Season of Mist, District 19, and everyone else that we had the pleasure of working with to create this album. Cheers!"

For the last decade, CARNATION has been at the forefront of reviving old school death metal. There’s something to be said about the artfulness of taking something so primitive and walking that fine line between keeping its classic authenticity without sounding tired or dated. CARNATION has always teetered this line, injecting a fresh and contemporary approach without losing the genre’s time-honored traditions. However, the band’s third endeavor sees CARNATION erasing those boundaries entirely and abandoning any and all conventions as they traverse into daring new territory. ‘Cursed Mortality’ pulls the Belgian death dealers deeper into experimental new waters, taking risks as the band steps out of the shadows of its predecessors and comes into its own identity. 'Cursed Mortality's' statement is clear: This is no longer simply a revival; this is CARNATION’s rebirth.

“We still play death metal and we still identify as such” explains frontman Simon Duson. “But we know that this is also our second decade performing it. And while it is very important for us to stay true to the old-school style, we know we had to open things up a bit and reach out to those who might be interested in extreme metal, but aren’t that much into the old aspect of it. It also feels fresher to us because we’ve decided to change our visual approach, with a new logo, a new look on stage and so on. In a way, it really feels like the beginning of a new chapter for CARNATION.”

Album number three is much more than just a new chapter, but rather feels like a sequel to an already storied career, punctuated by press accolades, an impressive history of live performances, and a lauded discography consisting of several EPs, splits, and two critically acclaimed full-length albums.

With the debut of its first EP in 2015, CARNATION quickly garnered the attention of fans, media, and most notably of all, record label Season of Mist, who quickly noticed the band’s potential and picked them up without hesitation. Upon forming this union, the band dropped its first full-length, ‘Chapel of Abhorrance,’ in 2018. Angry Metal Guy astutely noted that the Belgians’ debut album was “one of the best death metal debuts of the year, and CARNATION have earned their place as one of the most promising new bands in the genre'' while Distorted Sound Magazine echoed these remarks, calling ‘Chapel of Abborhance’ “one of most brutalizing, well executed and, above all, fun, death metal releases of 2018'' in its 9/10 review of the album.

CARNATION’s momentum only seemed to pick up from there. The band kept busy on the road, performing a variety of tours with their death metal brethren in Deserted Fear, Schirenc Plays, Pungent Stench, and Pestilence, while headlining stages in Japan and Brazil. Upon conquering the live circuit and laying waste to audiences across three different continents, the band unleashed its 2020 opus, ‘Where Death Lies,’ which broke them out from the underground with the kind of seismic force that most bands can only dream of. If the critics liked ‘Chapel of Abhorrance,’ ‘Where Death Lies’ was the moment they fell in love, enamored by Carnation’s relentless brutality and crushing precision.

While touring had been halted that year, CARNATION never stagnated nor waivered. The band’s tenacity paid off with their sophomore effort being named among one of the best records of the year by The Pit, Chicago Music Guide, Pandemonium Metal, and many more, while the single “Iron Discipline'' was singled out by Loudwire as one of the best songs of 2020. Legacy outlet Kerrang! also took notice, ranking the band among the “50 Greatest Death Metal Bands Right Now,” cracking the top 20 picks.

While the Belgian slayers still stay true to their roots, they step outside of their comfort zone with more groove, melody, and progression, showcasing their versatility as musicians and clearly defining their own unique sound. ‘Cursed Mortality’ sounds darker, with passages of melancholic melodies that compliment the heaviness.

Most bands might feel anxious about making such dramatic changes, especially to incorporate clean vocals within such extreme music, CARNATION embraces the unknown and does not fall victim to fear or monotony. “As artists, it's something natural,” explains Verstrepen about why the band has shifted direction. “Doing the same thing over and over again doesn't inspire us. We love to create and we love to explore new paths. We knew some people wouldn't like clean vocals in death metal, but we don't want to think of that too much. We stand 100% behind our music and we really like what we did here. Some people will drop out, but there will definitely be others joining! As Lemmy would say, 'You win some, you lose some.'”

Indeed, a personal metamorphosis is always a risk, but one that historically has paid off. The first records of bands like Black Sabbath, Carcass, Death, or even Bathory sound nothing like the mid-late era offerings of those very same artists, and yet, those records that strayed off the beaten path are regarded as some of the most seminal albums in the history of metal. Playing it safe sounds easy, but it isn’t always a part of a legend’s origin story. And CARNATION isn’t here to play by the rules; the band is ready to take a leap of faith and redefine an era.

EXOCRINE release first single 'Legend'

EXOCRINE have been blending ultra technical and extraordinarily rapid death metal with philosophical musings for quite some time now. The French band released their first album back in 2015. But their new album marks a new chapter. While still choked-full of eerie, dissonant finger-taps and enough blast beats to blow out your eardrums, 'Legend' rages from within.

"We see 'Legend' as a reflection of our existence, of what we create, and what we wish to leave of ourselves in the end", says lead guitarist Sylvain Octor Perez. "It's this Dante-like confrontation between these three characters in complete opposition, combined with questions about the lessons of the past and our place in the universe. That's why we wanted to create a more intimate atmosphere with a more organic production, and return to calmer tempos at times."

Today, Exocrine are releasing the chilling video for the album's title track.

"Legend is a new chapter for Exocrine and we're eager to introduce you to it. It's probably the album we're most proud of, it's also our most personal one", says Sylvain. "It's a more 'airy' album, allowing the cinematic side of our music to express itself more fully. But we're staying true to what defines us, going as fast as ever and trying to reinvent ourselves in terms of the technical aspects of our style."

Legend comes out January 26, 2024.

Born from the depths of Bordeaux, France, EXOCRINE is a technical death metal juggernaut, a force that has redefined the very essence of the genre. Founded by the guitar-virtuoso Sylvain Octor-Perez, alongside the formidable talents of Nicolas La Rosa and Jordy Besse, this trio embarked on their relentless journey in 2013, marking the inception of a musical saga that would leave an indelible mark on the world of extreme music.

EXOCRINE's debut album, 'Unreal Existence,' unleashed in 2015, was nothing short of a revelation. It showcased the band's audacious creativity, instantly distinguishing them within the technical death metal scene. With labyrinthine compositions, ferocious riffs, and relentless drumming, EXOCRINE's music delved into uncharted territories of sonic complexity.

In the years that followed, EXOCRINE solidified their signature sound, with albums such as 'Ascension' in 2017 and 'Molten Giant' in 2018, upon the latter release, Théo Gendron joined as a new member – forming the current-standing quartet of musicians. These releases cemented their reputation as pioneers of the genre, pushing the boundaries of what technical death metal could achieve. The band's compositions are like sonic mazes, constantly evolving, keeping listeners captivated at every twist and turn.

Their 2022 release, 'The Hybrid Suns,' was yet another testament to their musical prowess. It demonstrated their unyielding commitment to pushing the envelope and exploring new realms of technical complexity.

Now, as the anticipation reaches a fever pitch, EXOCRINE is poised to release their next full-length opus, 'Legend.' This forthcoming masterpiece promises to be an epic chapter in their already storied career, destined to secure their place as legends within the hallowed halls of technical death metal.

EXOCRINE are architects of sonic transcendence, explorers of the uncharted, and pioneers of the unimaginable. With each release, they redefine the limits of technical death metal, and 'Legend' is poised to be their most audacious and groundbreaking endeavour yet, a true testament to their status as legends in the making.

Wrath of Logarius Announce EP

Wrath of Logarius come crawling out from the misty forests of Northern California. In their wake, fans a dark, flaming and eerily melodic new subgenre: Formless Black Metal.

This skeletal trio are now releasing their very first EP on Season of Mist. The six songs on 'Necrotic Assimilation' writhe between black, brutal death and even melodic post-metal - often over the course of one hard and fast song.

Watch the fire-breathing visualizer for lead single "The Burning One", which was created by Andrés Montero Conde:

'Necrotic Assimilation" will be available as a digital download starting  December 8.

“'Necrotic Assimilation' is the product of blending our favorites aspects of different types of black metal into one band," says Wrath of Logarius. "We are pleased with the outcome and will continue to build on that idea.”

So what exactly is formless black metal? A mountainous slop of human flesh...an amalgamation of ever-changing eyes, fangs and bone. That description is one of the first things you hear on "The Burning One", and while awfully unsettling, it hits the nail right through the demon's skull. The song screams across the sky thanks to Noctifer's malignant vocals, only to plunge into a fiery pit of tremolo picking before snapping back into blast beats that blister under the legendary heel of Lord Marco.

"'The Burning One' tells a story about an inner dimensional invasion of earth", says Wrath of Logarius. "These unsightly creatures are set to take over the world, infecting everything living with Necrotic Assimilation, a virus that takes over the mind. Hosts are turned into an empty vessel, forced to do the bidding of The Burning One".

Formed in 2021 amidst the mist-shrouded forests of Northern California, Wrath of Logarius emerged as a formidable force in the world of extreme music. This black metal trio, consisting of Noctifer, Urath, and Vastator, set out to forge a new path with their unique genre known as Formless Black Metal.

Wrath of Logarius' creative spark ignited as they embarked on their journey to create something different in black metal. Drawing inspiration from brutal blackened death and melodic post-black metal, the skeletal trio emerged with a new subgenre. 'Necrotic Assimilation' introduces pure Formless Black Metal, where the styles change within each song.

Strigoi Streaming New EP for Halloween

STRIGOI were already plenty unsettling on their debut album. After all, this band includes current and former members of Paradise Lose, Extreme Noise Terror, Satyricon and Carcass. But the UK death-doom band's follow-up pushed their grinding asphyxiations to such vile extremes, that it produced an abundance of putridity.

'Bathed In A Black Sun' includes four unreleased or exclusive songs from the recording sessions for their last album 'Viscera', which was mastered by Brad Boatright and mixed by Kurt Ballou. The title track oozes pure, unadorned filth, slimed with sludge riffs and a crusty drum groove, while other songs spew punkish riffs atop leather-spiked d-beats.

"'Bathed In A Black Sun' is part bridge, part exorcism", writes
No Clean Singing. "Strigoi will always have that big pit-riff bubbling up just inside them and they have to unleash it somehow".

Strigoi's terrifying new EP comes out this Friday, November 3. But seeing as it's Halloween, they're treating our blackened sweet tooths with an early taste of all five tracks.

"We've been dying to release this EP as a companion to 'Viscera'," says the band's bassist Chris Casket. "Enjoy these extra cuts of raging spite and cold despair."

When Paradise Lost guitarist Greg Mackintosh put to rest his Vallenfyre side project in 2018, he closed a difficult, but ultimately cathartic period in his life. Created as a tribute to his father John, who passed away in 2009, Vallenfyre originally served as a sounding board for Greg’s grief, but then delved into his nihilistic take on the world. Vallenfyre’s brief existence was intentional — the band always knew they could go no further than the three studio albums that bore their name.

A mere few days after Vallenfyre played its last live show in September 2018, Mackintosh announced the formation of a brand-new band with Vallenfyre bassist Chris Casket (Ex. Extreme Noise Terror), Strigoi. The English twosome released their debut album Abandon All Faith on 22nd November 2019 which was met by widespread critical acclaim and support. From this success, the band began preproduction to take the project live, recruiting to the line-up drummer Guido Zima (Ex Implore / The Secret) and live guitarist Sam Kelly-Wallace (Ex Vallenfyre) to begin spreading their foreboding gospel throughout the European festival circuit.

Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic that hit Spring 2020 Strigoi were unable to perform live as planned, and realising this situation was going to be a long-term constraint Greg and Chris decided to begin writing for a second album. This 18-month process culminated in Strigoi signing to Season Of Mist records, then heading to Orgone Studios UK to track 14 brand new songs under the watchful eye of award winning producer Jamie Gomez Arellano.

The bands line up, now set with the addition of guitarist Ben Ash (Satyricon / Ex. Carcass) completed the recording of the album ‘Viscera’ in October 2021, subsequently mixed by Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studios. ‘Viscera’ represents the further evolution of Strigoi as a band, a concept fully realised as a statement of terror, malaise, and ultimately a record representing what Greg and Chris wanted to achieve from the band’s inception.

Their new 'Bathed In A Black Sun' EP includes five unreleased songs from the recording sessions for 'Viscera'. The title track is pure, unadulterated filth, slimed with sludge riffs and a crusty drum groove.
