he band has received critical acclaim from the rock scene's top tastemakers, including New Noise Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan, Audiotree, and more. As fan favorites at Smartpunk's SXSW showcase and Florida's beloved FEST, Virginity have cultivated a core fanbase who are foaming at the mouth for these new tracks.

Speaking about the new deluxe release, Virginity says, "Our newest release, You Can’t Have My Blood, is truly for the Virginity heads. When we released two EPs earlier this year, we knew we wanted to get them on vinyl in some form and that doing so was an important factor for our heaviest listeners, but we weren’t sure what it should look like. In taking a look at all the material, which mostly came about during the late stages of the Bad Jazz sessions, we decided that this should be a sort of Bad Jazz spiritual companion. We had songs that never got past the demo form that we wanted to see the light of day, as well as some live performances, covers and other odds-and-ends that have been available in random places, but never in one place or on vinyl. As much as it’s a compilation of disparate songs, we believe it also stands up on its own as a piece in the tradition of artists like Guided By Voices. We think it’s a truly worthy collection of tunes for anybody, but something extra special for those that have been fans of our band for a while."

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they're a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your Goals' Mutiny and Gameface's Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has reissued timeless albums such as Less Than Jake's Hello Rockview and Anthem, Patrick Stump's Soul Punk and Samiam's Clumsy. In the year 2025 alone they've put out new releases by the likes of Somerset Thrower, Keep Flying, Debt Neglector, Gully Boys, Sainthood Reps and so many more.

Speaking about the new EP, Virginity says, "Bad Jazz began with the four of us building these songs in Jordan's living room and so we all thought it would be very fitting to take those songs back to their birthplace and perform them in their finished forms. We looked to our friend Jason Kupfer from The Pauses to fill in some of the production gaps for the live session and we enjoyed it so much it seems that he's going to stick around with us for a bit. These tunes were built to be played live, and were recorded that way for the album, but it was important to us to do it for real for posterity to show the energy they possess and how they don't need any studio glitz to work just as effectively. This EP is a snapshot in time. This is what Virginity sounds like live at this exact moment. You can look at our Audiotree from 2021 and see how much better we've gotten and we're all so proud of that fact. We hope to keep producing live work every so often and to continue documenting our growth, not just as artists producing the best records we can, but as live performers."

ABOUT VIRGINITY
Virginity’s “Fidelity Castro EP” was originally supposed to be a way to release the leftover scraps from the Bad Jazz recording sessions, but as the band continued to finesse the recordings, the EP morphed into something entirely different. It took on a life of its own, and taught the band it can operate more loosely than it ever has before.

Featuring 5 original tracks and a cover of one of their favorite Shins tunes, the EP shows the band finishing three partially developed concepts from the Bad Jazz sessions as well as 3 demos of songs that never made it to the studio, but showed just as much promise as anything that landed on the album. And while the basic tracks of the demos were recorded live and raw, they show another side of the band’s abilities and yearning to experiment with lo-fi production (a la a recent obsession with Guided By Voices) and attempt to not overthink something that already rocks ass.
