In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.

Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”

That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.

Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”

Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.

He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.

Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marleyand AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.

Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.

Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pooland Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.

For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”

KURT DEIMER TO SUPPORT YNGWIE MALMSTEEN ON SPRING TOURDEBUT EP ‘WORK HARD, ROCK HARD’ OUT NOW

DEIMER TO HOST INSTAGRAM LIVE WITH GUITARIST PHIL X & PRODUCER CHRIS LORD-ALGE WEDNESDAY, FEB 16, 4PM PST / 7PM EST

DEBUT EP ‘WORK HARD, ROCK HARD’ OUT NOW

Kurt Deimer has come a long way in less than six months. After joining forces with Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X and recording his debut EP ‘Work Hard, Rock Hard’ with Grammy-award winning engineer Chris Lord-Alge, he opened for Geoff Tate on the former Queensryche frontman’s U.S. tour last fall. Now, after being a featured member of the Stowaways on the Shiprocked cruise this January and performing alongside artists including Nita Strauss, Bumblefoot, P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval and Bad Brains’ HR, he's set to be direct support for Yngwie Malmsteen on the guitar legend’s upcoming North American tour (see tour dates below).

“Pure unadulterated rock and roll,” is how Deimer describes the aforementioned EP. “Our style, our voice, it comes after you with the propensity to think about what my lyrics are saying as the melodies and riffs pull you in. I love the whole album. Every damn song. It’s a curated rock and roll adventure, done in our style.”

Deimer has found a great bandmate in long-time Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X. “I think he is one of the best guitarists in the world. We vibe together. We are on the same page and same mission to rock the world for the rest of our lives, and we are bros and great friends to boot. We both say how blessed we are to have found each other.”

Phil X and Chris Lord-Alge will join Kurt Deimer on an Instagram Live event Wednesday, February 16, at 4pm PST / 7pm EST, live from Lord-Alge’s Mix LA recording studio, where Deimer is recording new music. Join the event from Kurt’s Instagram account (@KurtDeimer), where the three will be fielding questions and diving into their recording process.

Starting on April 29 in Harrisburg, PA, the frontman and his band will be direct support on Yngwie Malmsteen’s spring tour. “It’s very surreal, it’s an honor,” says Deimer. “Yngwie is a guitar master, and we will do him justice. We bring passion and expression, and we are always playing as if we are headlining Madison Square Garden - we want to blow your mind and take you on a full out, in your face, rock and roll journey. When you see our band, we are bringing rock and roll with style and flare. No time to sit still.”

The future for Deimer is extremely bright. “We are going to keep writing great rock and roll songs and performing live as much as we can. I just finished production on my first ‘Hellbilly Hollow’ movie, which will hopefully come out in late 2021, and am getting ready to shoot and star in the next film in the franchise. I was inspired to start my own horror franchise after being killed by Michael Myers in the 2018 release of ‘Halloween,’ where I played a gas station attendant. He messed me up! I just love collaborating with other artists and creating a future that is trippy and leaves you wondering what Kurt Deimer is going to do next… I’m a firm believer in keeping my family together, and when people come to see us, we are just that - a family. A fellowship. A tight knit group all on one mission.”

About YNGWIE MALMSTEEN:

Yngwie Malmsteen was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 30, 1963. Applying his intense curiosity and tenacity to first an old Mosrite and then a cheap Stratocaster, Yngwie immersed himself in the music of such bands like Deep Purple and spent long hours practicing to learn their songs. His admiration for Ritchie Blackmore's classically influenced playing led him back to the source: Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Mozart. As Yngwie absorbed the classical structures of the masters, his prodigious style began to take shape.

By age 10, he began to focus all his energies on music. His mother and sister, the latter a talented flautist, recognized his unique musical gifts and gave him support and encouragement. His mastery of the instrument progressed rapidly. In his early teens, Yngwie saw a television performance of Russian violinist Gideon Kremer, who performed the highly difficult 24 Caprices of 19th-century virtuoso violinist Niccolo Paganini. The effect was profound, and Yngwie understood at last how to combine his love of classical music with his burgeoning guitar skills and onstage charisma.

Yngwie's first solo album, 'Rising Force' (now considered the bible for neoclassical rock) made it to #60 on the Billboard charts, an impressive feat for a mostly instrumental guitar album with no commercial airplay. The album also gained Yngwie a Grammy nomination for best rock instrumental performance. He was voted "Best New Talent" in several readers’ polls, "Best Rock Guitarist" the year after, and Rising Force became "Album of the Year". Rising Force blazed a trail on the concert circuit that established Yngwie as one of rock guitar's brightest new stars and added a new genre to the music lexicon: neoclassical rock.

With his place in guitar history firmly established, Yngwie's neo-classical compositions fueled the ears of fans and the ambitions of aspiring guitarists worldwide for over a decade with such powerhouse classic albums as 'Marching Out', 'Trilogy', 'Odyssey', 'Live in Leningrad / Trial By Fire' (gold-selling concert video of Yngwie’s 1989 sold-out concerts in Moscow and Leningrad), 'Fire & Ice' (which debuted in Japan at #1 and sold over 100,000 copies on the day of its release), 'The Seventh Sign', 'Magnum Opus', 'Inspiration'(covering the music of Deep Purple, Rainbow, U.K., Kansas, Scorpions, Rush, and Jimi Hendrix), 'Facing the Animal', 'Alchemy', and 'Attack!!'

Early in 2009, Yngwie contributed three tracks to the video game Rock Band, for both Xbox and PlayStation. Still promoting Perpetual Flame, Yngwie and the band played a series of killer concerts in Japan with rock icons Deep Purple. By mid-summer, Yngwie astonished fans and critics alike by releasing an album completely off the beaten path for him; an entirely instrumental collection of ballads from Yngwie’s earlier work performed on acoustic guitar with orchestral arrangements. To everyone’s surprise, 'Angels of Love'(inspired by Yngwie’s wife April) hit the top of Amazon.com’s New Age music list.

Recognition of Yngwie’s place in music history continued to come in. In TIME Magazine, Yngwie found himself included as one of the “10 Greatest Electric Guitar Players.” Near the end of the year, Yngwie and his management company decided to begin releasing rare archival concert footage. The first was Yngwie in Korea, shot during his 2001 War to End All Wars Tour, in Seoul, South Korea. And that, asserts Yngwie, is just the tip of the iceberg of things to come!
