WORMWOOD Release Deluxe Edition of New Album 'Arkivet' - Featuring Covers of Nick Cave & Loreena McKennitt

WORMWOOD have released three new bonus tracks on the Deluxe Edition of their newest studio album, 'Arkivet'. The deluxe version includes covers of Nick Cave's "The Weeping Song" and Loreena McKennitt's "Caravanserai", and is available for streaming now!

Commenting on the bonus tracks for 'Arkivet', the band says:

"The reason we picked 'Shipwrecked & Northbound' is because most of our listeners haven't heard our first EP 'The Void: Stories From the Whispering Well'. It was a time of experimentation and getting to know each other's styles. We picked this song specifically because it had fragments of that sound that we wanted to pursue. That sound led to the creation of Ghostlands. Now - years later we decided to re-make it with the knowledge, possibilities, and skills we lacked back then. It's a homage to the old and new.

Speaking on the two covers from the deluxe version, they add:

"The two covers on this deluxe edition were picked because they meant something deeply for some members of the band. Most people know Nick Cave and his mastery of words and music, but fewer know about the enchanting Loreena McKennitt. With our style and vision, we created these two covers with respect to their virtuosity but with our own twist!"

WORMWOOD Release Music Video For New Single "The Gentle Touch of Humanity"

Wormwood's New Music Video Won't Leave You Untouched

New Album 'Arkivet' Out August 27th

WORMWOOD's second single and music video for "The Gentle Touch of Humanity", the last grand epos from the upcoming album. 'Arkivet', has arrived.

NINE (Lead Vocals) comments:

"Keeping with the bleak theme of the album, this video is no different. We're all taking part in the destruction machine called Humanity. An unstoppable force uprooting the essence of the earth and planting seeds of disease.

The world watches in apathy as the heart is being ripped out from its core and a continental-wide scar stretches throughout everything we know. The Gentle Touch of Humanity is what our tired and dead eyes watch from the temporary sanctuary we call our home. Nothing can be done, the wound is too deep, let's hope nature goes out with a fight."

The video might not be for everyone, but it will make you feel something. Viewer discretion is advised.

"The Gentle Touch of Humanity" is the closing track on Wormwood's upcoming album, 'Arkivet', which will be released August 27th on CD, vinyl, and digital/streaming format.

The album title 'Arkivet' ("The Archive") is a document you write for your close ones after your passing in which you address all of your funeral arrangements, where important documents are located, last wishes, etc. Wormwood uses this as a metaphor for the whole world. The last words to an already dead planet.

WORMWOOD offer the following comments about the release of their new album, Arkivet:

"Due to the spring's problems in the Suez Canal and Covid-19, we unfortunately have to announce that the ARKIVET release will be postponed. This is because the vinyl pressing plant hasn't been able to deliver on time, due to a lack of materials from the factories.

This is terribly sad news for us, but unfortunately beyond our ability to speed up. The new release date is set for August 27th. We apologize to all of you who have pre-ordered the album, but urge you to wait another month. It will be worth it."
