THUNDERMOTHER Announce New Album "Mothers of Thunder" Out February 5, 2027

Swedish hard rock queens THUNDERMOTHER are back with their Napalm Records studio debut, Mothers of Thunder, out on February 5, 2027. Their seventh album once again proves that the genre's leading ladies can do everything men could — and maybe even better. Their rock 'n' roll vibe comes in with dirty riffs and cheeky lines, the powerful delivery begging for energetic live shows.

THUNDERMOTHER have previously proven to excel at just that: after opening for the legendary Scorpions and Judas Priest, playing at iconic festivals like Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, or Sweden Rock, and releasing their first live album, Live'n'Alive, in 2026, the four-piece is ready for a new era. Mothers of Thunder is high-energy encouragement for women as well as thrilling, head-bopping fun for everyone else.

Along with the announcement, THUNDERMOTHER turn the genre on its head with the first single, ''Bimbo Boost." Playing the epic riff to Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water'' backwards, the four-piece addresses the pressure on female artists to always look perfect when going on stage — an expectation that passes by male musicians.

THUNDERMOTHER about '"Bimbo Boost'":
''It's damn hard being a woman. We have to do our makeup, straighten our hair, reverse aging, and always look our best. It's exhausting. We wish we had a magic guitar booster pedal that instantly did all of that for us! We love making fun music videos, and this time we went bananas!”

With their seventh album, THUNDERMOTHER take a step to become nothing less than rock goddesses. Mothers of Thunder is their time to shine, putting genre colleagues in their places with ease. The future belongs to THUNDERMOTHER!

THUNDERMOTHER about Mothers of Thunder:
''We know that it's what every band says when they're releasing a new album, but this time it's true. This is the best THUNDERMOTHER album yet! The songwriting, the playing, and the lyrical themes have reached the next level, and we can't wait to share Mothers of Thunder with the world!

"Mothers of Thunder has killer riffs, groovy grooves, and powerful vocals paired with fun energy and the occasional serious tone. But most importantly, it has Filippa, Joan, Linnéa, and Majsan! Our musicianship gets a real chance to shine, and I think you can hear how much fun we're having through your speakers.

"This album is for you, the old fans, the new fans, and the future fans. Together we will make sure to keep rock'n'roll alive and kicking! We are THUNDERMOTHER, and this is Mothers of Thunder. Play it loud, sing along, and don't forget to ROCK!”

Thundermother Release Video For New Live Single "Can You Feel It — Live in Cologne"

Swedish rockers THUNDERMOTHER let us join the energetic experience that is their live shows once again with the third single from their upcoming live album, Live'n'Alive, coming digitally on April 17 via Napalm Records. Next up as a pre-taste of their first album with their new label is "Can You Feel It," originally released on their latest studio album, Dirty & Divine, in 2025.

The track from THUNDERMOTHER's first album with their current lineup shines just as bright in its new live setting as previous hits. Recorded during a show in Cologne, Germany, in February 2025, "Can You Feel It" is now a powerful kick-off for a powerful album. Alongside it, THUNDERMOTHER share video footage, mirroring the thrilling atmosphere, as well as two further songs: "I Don’t Know You — Live in Cologne" (Black and Gold, 2022) and "Thunderous — Live in Copenhagen" (Rock 'N' Roll Disaster, 2014) are also available to stream now. This is pure rock'n'roll — and you can feel it!

Filippa Nässil about "Can You Feel It — Live in Cologne":
"There's something magical that happens when a good riff comes on through a Marshall stack. I came up with the idea for the song while walking and blasting rock music. We've opened gigs with this song, and therefore it also opens the live album since it follows the setlist. It's heavier and even better than the studio recording. Enjoy."

Swedish rock'n'roll powerhouse THUNDERMOTHER are set to unleash a thrilling new live album, Live'n'Alive, out digitally on April 17 and physically on July 10 via Napalm Records! Founded in 2009 by guitarist Filippa Nässil, the band is well-known for their electrifying rock anthems and relentless touring – some live highlights include supporting the legendary Scorpions both in North America and Europe, playing the KISS Kruise, and performing regularly at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air. In 2025, THUNDERMOTHER unleashed their highly acclaimed sixth album, Dirty & Divine — their first with the new lineup consisting of Filippa Nässil, vocalist Linnéa Vikström Egg, returning bass player Majsan Lindberg, and drummer Joan Massing — hitting the top 3 on the Official German Rock/Metal Charts. Live'n'Alive was recorded on the European headline tour that followed – this hefty 19-track offering showcases THUNDERMOTHER’s explosive live energy through their 2025 setlist.

With no backing tracks, overdubs or re-recording of instruments, Live'n'Alive makes no compromises. This is THUNDERMOTHER – 100% live, 100% rock'n'roll! Live'n'Alive will be available as a digital album first — stay tuned for physical formats!

Filippa Nässil about Live’n’Alive:
"It's all live. We use no backing tracks like almost every band does today. We have made no overdubs or re-recordings of instruments. It's ALL live and rock'n'roll. Me on guitar, Majsan Lindberg on bass, Joan Massing on drums, and Linnéa Vikström on lead vox and rhythm guitars on some songs. Song order is not compromised, it's our setlist of 2025, through and through. Hell yeah, this is how it's done."
