Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT, the dynamic collaboration between guitarist and songwriter Josh Rand (Stone Sour) and powerhouse vocalist Casandra Carson (Paralandra, Casandra’s Crossing).

This new partnership marks an important step forward for the band, bringing their musical vision to a broader international audience. With Frontiers Music Srl’s support and a new album on its way, THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT is set to further expand its reach and continue building on its distinctive sound.

Born from a shared musical vision and an undeniable creative chemistry, THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT represents a fresh and compelling artistic union. While Rand had long envisioned launching a female-fronted project, it wasn’t until 2020 - when a mutual connection introduced him to Carson - that the idea truly began to take shape. What started as an exploratory collaboration quickly evolved into something far more meaningful, laying the groundwork for a project driven by purpose and artistic synergy.

Musically, THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT fuses Rand’s signature heavy riffs and affinity for strong melodic hooks with Carson’s commanding and versatile vocal delivery. Drawing inspiration from classic metal, thrash, and progressive influences, the project channels the raw energy and spirit that first inspired Rand to pick up the guitar, while offering Carson the opportunity to explore new sonic and emotional territories.

The band debuted the colossal new song live on their recent US tour dates with Alice In Chains, Breaking Benjamin and Bush.

Casandra Carson confesses;

"I love being able to play a new song live before releasing it, because you can actually watch people's reactions to it in real time - it's like getting an honest, firsthand opinion. Dying of the Light definitely turned some heads on this last tour. It’s not often that the crowd hears a song for the first time and is singing along by the last chorus, so I’d say it went over really well!”

Meanwhile, guitarist and songwriter Josh Rand notes:

"Sometimes the best songs just put themselves together. That’s how I feel with 'Dying of the Light'. I had the basic song structure down within about 30 minutes, everything just came together."

ABOUT THE L.I.F.E. PROJECT

Arriving at the intersection of time and circumstance, multi-instrumentalist, veteran songwriter, and long-tenured guitarist of the Grammy-nominated rock outfit STONE SOUR, Josh Rand, found himself at a proverbial fork in the road.

Rotating back to real world after an extensive two-year run on the road with STONE SOUR’s Hydrograd album cycle, Rand resumed his routine of immersing himself in his craft, songwriting with clear intent, breaking new ground and exploring new sounds. Shortly thereafter, a series of events would prompt Rand to make some significant professional decisions.
