Progressive Trio SOURCE Release New Track "Stimulus"

SOURCE present "Stimulus," the first single offering from the forthcoming 5th studio album. Rooted sonically in heavy psychedelic prog rock and thematically in introspection, "Stimulus" brings intensity, electronics and an industrial touch.

Lyrically, "'Stimulus' speaks to experiencing symptoms of ADHD and Autism. It tells the story of a stimulus addicted brain that struggles with stillness". The band explain. "['Stimulus'] also speaks largely to post-tour depression. Touring is such a constant, stimulating, exciting, terrifying, inspiring experience compared to regular life at home. This song tells the story of learning to go on tour and come back home while appreciating every aspect of the journey".

On the sound and arrangement of "Stimulus," SOURCE shares:
"It starts with fat, crunchy electronic percussion with a flavor of NIN industrial sounds which transition flawlessly into the opening chorus with a killer fill on drum kit. This is the first time in any Source song that we’ve started with a chorus. We wanted the song to fit a more traditional arrangement format while always progressing and being stimulating."

Musically, "Stimulus" carries movement and energy alongside a distinctly textural arrangement of instrumental and electronic layers. From psychedelic granular vocal delays and electronic percussion to metallic glitches and an enticing melodic bass line, the track consistently introduces and develops moments of interest.

"Stimulus" was produced by Benjamin Gleason and recorded at Cymatic Sounds Studios with engineer Justin Mirarck. Mixed by Benjamin Gleason and Justin Mirarck, and mastered by Tom Capeck.

SOURCE Release Cover Of RADIOHEAD's "Optimistic"

Rooted in heavy psychedelic prog rock, dynamic and introspective trio SOURCE present the new single "Optimistic". In their take on RADIOHEAD's track, SOURCE demonstrate their compositional style with a modern sound that carries depth through intentional instrumental layers.

On the new release the band shares,
"When we decided to cover 'Optimistic' we really wanted to showcase our love for the song while bringing our own voice to the arrangement. I think our version has a lot of similar ingredients, but the way we choose to highlight those ingredients really displays our unique approach and sound. The tones are much heavier, the tempo is faster so it feels like there's more energy, and the way we flip the ending into a heavy riff is my favorite part of our version."

While honoring the dark mood and atmosphere of the original, SOURCE bring an assortment of brighter and more distinctive textures into their design. The band's use of enhanced contrasts from the grounding bass lines to melodic vocals and heavy distortion to subtle backing harmonies, leads to striking full-bodied sonic impact.
