JELLY ROLL GARNERS RIAA PLATINUM CERTIFICATION FOR MULTI-WEEK, #1 GRAMMY NOMINATED HIT, “I AM NOT OKAY”

Award-winning multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll has now garnered a Platinum certification from the RIAA for his 2024 smash single “I Am Not Okay”—as announced today. The song graces his blockbuster Billboard 200 #1 critically acclaimed sophomore country album, Beautifully Broken.

Jelly Roll co-wrote “I Am Not Okay” with Taylor Phillips, Ashley Gorley, and Casey Brown with Zach Crowell serving as producer. The single is currently nominated for two GRAMMY® Awards at the upcoming 67th annual GRAMMY® Awards taking place on February 2, 2025.

Since arriving in June, it has soared as one of his biggest songs to date and an empowering mental health anthem. The single cracked the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, reaching #14. Additionally, it captured #1 on the Billboard US Country Airplay Chart and Mediabase Aircheck chart for multiple weeks as his sixth #1 entry on the respective chart. It also vaulted into the Top 3 of the Billboard US Hot Country Songs chart. Check out his performance of “I Am Not Okay” on the PBS series “Austin City Limits’” 50th Anniversary Season below.

Recently awarded by Variety as their Changemaker of the Year, Jelly is also a Billboard Music Awards finalist at this year's awards. Airing tonight, Jelly will perform two songs as a part of the 2024 Billboard Awards- “I Am Not Okay” as well as his current single, “Liar.” The Billboard Music Awards air tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX and Fire TV Channels, and on-demand on Paramount+, with performances also rolling out across Billboard.com and via @BBMAs and @Billboard social channels.

ABOUT JELLY ROLL:
Award-winning, GRAMMY® nominated Nashville native singer/songwriter Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart for the first time with his acclaimed 2024 album, Beautifully Broken—which also earned the highest critical praise of his career so far from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Associated Press, NPR, and more. The release concluded his most successful year yet and followed his sold out Beautifully Broken Tour in arenas nationwide. The album includes the platinum-certified #1 hit “I Am Not Okay.”

Just a year earlier, Jelly debuted Top 3 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart and #2 on the Top Country Album charts with his debut Country Album, Whitsitt Chapel (released June 2nd, 2023) - earning the biggest Country debut album in Billboard Consumption Chart history. Following his sweep at the 2023 CMT Music Awards where he earned three awards to become the most awarded artist of the night, the Billboard Country Power List Cover star and “country’s ‘most authentic’ new artist” (The New Yorker) received Billboard’s 2023 Breakthrough Award and the People’s Choice Award for Male Country Artist of the Year. Nominated for Best New Artist and Best Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me (with Lainey Wilson)” at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, along with eight genre-spanning nominations at the 2024 iHeartRadio Awards and a win for Best New Country and Pop artist wins, Jelly is one of three artists alongside Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs to have scored three Country Airplay #1s in 2023 and the first to do it with his first three singles. He has earned six consecutive #1s to date at Country radio and is “one of Nashville’s fastest rising stars” (The New York Times). A 4X winner at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards and the most nominated male at the 2023 CMA Awards, with five total nominations capturing his first CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, Jelly continues to break boundaries. His #1 hit single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt— set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights including a Platinum certification from the RIAA on the heels of his 28-week reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Most recently, “Save Me” earned Jelly his first ACM win for Music Event of the year, released his new album Beautifully Broken on October 11 and launched his Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27th following his eight consecutive #1 singles: “Liar,” “I Am Not Okay,” “Chevrolet” - Dustin Lynch feat. Jelly Roll, “Halfway To Hell,” “Save Me,” “Need A Favor,” “Son of A Sinner” & “Dead Man Walking.”

Not just an artist but a humanitarian, Jelly continues to resonate with fans on a global scale while racking up numerous milestones - from playing his sold-out hometown show for 18,000 fans at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to donating a recording studio at the juvenile detention center he served in as a teen, to the release of his record-breaking documentary by ABC News, “Save Me” - the most watched music documentary on the platform - to his visits with rehab centers and those incarcerated across the US. Featured by Nightline, GMA, GMA3, The New York Times, LA Times, The Tennessean, Billboard, Variety, American Songwriter, CMT and more, his self-built, unconventional industry rise and unique fan connection has garnered praise from numerous outlets, with Variety noting, “for everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen,” and American Songwriter echoing, “with a string of accolades and an extremely dedicated following, Jelly Roll has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.”

Whiskey Myers Celebrate 5 New RIAA Certifications During "Fox & Friends" All-American Summer Concert Series

While appearing live on the “Fox & Friends” All-American Summer Concert Series today, Aug. 9, genre-bending band Whiskey Myers added to their Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) hardware with a surprise presentation of five new Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum certifications (denoted with asterisks below), bringing their total to nine RIAA-certified hits, a rare feat for an independent band:

  • “Stone” (2x Platinum)*

  • “Bury My Bones” (Platinum)*

  • “Ballad of a Southern Man” (Platinum)

  • “Broken Window Serenade” (Platinum)

  • Firewater (Gold)

  • “Reckoning” (Gold)*

  • “Bar, Guitar and a Honky Tonk Crowd” (Gold)*

  • “Lonely East Texas Nights” (Gold)*

  • “Virginia” (Gold)

The chart-topping band performed two of those Platinum-certified songs, “Bury My Bones” and “Broken Window Serenade,” as well as fan-favorite “Die Rockin'” plus “John Wayne” and “Feets” off their latest album, Tornillo, lauded by Forbes as “difficult to categorize or pigeonhole because it’s uniquely their own... constantly pushing the creative envelope,” with Saving Country Music declaring the album to be “unapologetic and attitudinal,” noting, “Tonrillo brings an energy, drive, pluck, and abandon most of modern music in this repressed era has vacated due to fear of reprisal. Rock music needs saving too, and Whiskey Myers is here to pick up the slack."

Whiskey Myers' appearance comes as the band brings their high-octane live show celebrated by Holler as a “six-piece concoction of southern rock, blue-collar country and rock 'n' roll... solidifying Whiskey Myers' place among the leading jam bands of the 21st century” to Atlantic City, N.J. tonight, Aug. 9; Virginia Beach, Va. (with Hank Williams, Jr.) tomorrow, Aug. 10; and Selbyville, Del. on Sunday, Aug. 11 as their headlining run continues throughout the U.S. until November. Tickets to all dates are on sale now via WhiskeyMyers.com.

About Whiskey Myers
Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played more than 2,500 live shows to ever-increasing crowd sizes since their emergence in 2007. In addition to headlining their own sold-out shows from coast to coast at iconic venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Ryman Auditorium, plus performing at marquee festivals Bonnaroo, Stagecoach, Download and more, the six-piece was also personally selected to open The Rolling Stones’ Chicago stadium show in 2019. Their latest self-produced album, Tornillo, available everywhere now via the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records, features the No. 17 most-played Americana song of 2022, “John Wayne,” and follows their fifth studio album, Whiskey Myers, which debuted at No. 1 on both the Country and Americana/Folk sales charts, at No. 2 on the Rock chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart (No. 3 among new releases). In total, Whiskey Myers have sold more than 2.1 million albums and amassed over 3.1 billion streams while earning nine RIAA Gold & Platinum/multi-Platinum certifications as an independent band. Known for their high-energy live show and unique sound, the band praised by Esquire as “the real damn deal” has also earned sync success with multiple features (and the first on-screen musical guest appearance) in Paramount’s hit show “Yellowstone” as well as Netflix series “What/If,” Angelina Jolie film “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and CBS series “SEAL Team,” among several others. USA Today describes their sound as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.”

Eli Young Band Earns New Hardware at RIAA Visit During Sold-Out DC Tour Stop

With hints of new music on the horizon, Eli Young Band brought their fan-tested track record to Washington, DC with the 10 Years: 10,000 Towns Tour. The run holds special significance for the band, who recently released deluxe and vinyl versions of the album of the same name, yet a surprise pre-show moment may have altered their standard setlist for their sold-out performance. Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson stopped by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)® headquarters and were greeted with custom plaques celebrating their Platinum album Life at Best, plus chart-topping singles 5x Platinum “Crazy Girl” and 3x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (released via The Valory Music Co.).

“’Keep on dreaming …’ is a perfect lyric for the Eli Young Band,” expressed lead singer Mike Eli. “Since college that is exactly what the four of us have done, and we are continuously grateful for these moments. We see the impact of our incredibly loyal fans and these RIAA certifications are as much for them as they are for us. Thank you to our team, our road family and everyone who has supported our dreams! Now let’s find a spot in the bus to hang this new hardware … see you all on the road!”

RIAA Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier said, “We are so honored to once again celebrate with Mike, James, Jon and Chris! Holding tight to their Texas roots while finding fans in all corners of the country, it’s incredible to recognize the reach of Eli Young Band’s music. Congratulations on your new RIAA certifications!”

Previously named Billboard‘s No. 1 Country Song of the Year and ACM Award for Song of the Year, “Crazy Girl” remains EYB’s highest certified title to date. Explore EYB’s career tally here, boasting 13 million RIAA-certified units in the US alone.

Since the band’s formation as college classmates 20 years ago, the Associated Press has celebrated EYB as “a smart, relevant antidote” to overdone clichés in Country music. The musical band of brothers has charted 14 singles on Billboard, including four No. 1 hits with “Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” 2x Platinum “Love Ain’t” and Platinum “Drunk Last Night.” Additionally, EYB has earned multiple GRAMMY, CMA, CMT, ACA and Teen Choice Award nominations.

Scotty McCreery Celebrates RIAA Certification for 'It Matters to Her'

On the heels of earning the most first week adds of his career (120) with his latest single "Cab in a Solo," Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery celebrated another career milestone during his Grand Ole Opry appearance last night -- Gold Certification from the RIAA for his most recent hit "It Matters to Her." Written by McCreery with veteran Music City songwriters Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller, the song captures lessons learned during his first four years of marriage to wife, Gabi.

"I am thankful to my fans and my team anytime a song of mine is certified Gold," shared McCreery. "I don’t take it for granted. But, to be presented a Gold album plaque for 'It Matters to Her' on the Grand Ole Opry stage is something I will always treasure."

With another RIAA certification under his belt and the release of his new single, the country crooner launches a new chapter in his career just as he approaches his 30th birthday next month. Having spent almost half his life making country music, the North Carolina native continues to push himself creatively as well as personally. Stream "Cab in a Solo"
HERE.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck.

Upon its release, Taste of Country declared “McCreery’s country roots shine.” With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.

"Cab in a Solo" follows the recent success of “It Matters to Her” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time,” all found on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.

Earlier this summer McCreery joined the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour 2023. He is currently out on the road for his own headlining tour with 25+ dates through the fall.

McCreery is among six inductees in the 2023 class scheduled to be enshrined in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony this fall. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center in Mooresville, N.C. VIP and General Reserved tickets are available

The soon-to-be 30 year old has sold more than 4 million albums and achieved 5 consecutive No.1 hits: the RIAA Platinum-certified “Damn Strait,” the RIAA Gold certified “You Time,” the RIAA Gold certified “In Between,” the RIAA Platinum certified “This is It,” and the RIAA Triple Platinum certified ‘Five More Minutes.” His new single “Cab in a Solo,” which McCreery wrote with Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson, is from a forthcoming album due out in 2024. Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery continues to reach new milestones as “Five More Minutes,” the first of five consecutive No. 1 singles, reaches RIAA Triple-Platinum Certification, while “Damn Strait,” the most recent of his back-to-back hits, reaches RIAA Platinum status.

“I’ve always said that ‘Five More Minutes’ is my favorite song I’ve ever written. For it to become my first Triple Platinum single means it has really connected with the fans, and as a songwriter that’s what you hope for,” said McCreery. “‘Damn Strait’ is one of the most fun songs I get to sing live each night. I’m excited to see the success of both of these songs recognized by the fans and the RIAA.”

Written by McCreery with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell, “Five More Minutes” earned him one of five BMI Awards for writing One of the Top 50 Country Songs of the Year and inspired two popular Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Network holiday movies with “Five More Minutes” and “Five More Minutes: Moments Like These.”

The second single from his latest album Same Truck, “Damn Strait” was written by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins and spent three weeks at the top of both the Mediabase and Billboard charts, along with being named one of “The 10 Best Country Songs of 2022” by
Billboard.

McCreery’s current and fastest rising single of his career “It Matters to Her,” co-written with Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller, continues to climb in the top 5 on the Mediabase chart and top 7 on the Billboard chart as he joins the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour, continuing tonight at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, along with additional headlining shows sprinkled throughout the summer.

Earlier this month, McCreery surprised fans with the new digital track “Why She Gotta Be Like That” featuring Colombian singer/songwriter GUSI. The North Carolina native discovered the Latin sensation on social media performing his song “Why You Gotta Be Like That” and was struck with the idea for a duet between the two featuring both Spanish and English verses. Listen to the song
HERE and watch the video below , which premiered on CMT, CMT Music and CMT.com.

McCreery is also one of the artists featured in the new “American Currents: State of the Music” exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, on display through Feb. 4, 2024.
