UK Rocker DAN BYRNE Releases Debut Album 'This Is Where The Show Begins' — Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl

Hotly-tipped UK rocker DAN BYRNE has unveiled his anticipated debut album, ‘This Is Where the Show Begins,’ out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the release, DAN has also unveiled the new track “Pulling Me Under,” alongside an official visualizer, available below.

DAN comments:

"'Pulling Me Under' dives into the darker depths of the album. This is a dark, atmospheric alternative rock track built on tension, emotion, and contrast. It’s haunting and anthemic, with verses that feel suffocatingly close before breaking into a huge chorus that hits like a breath of air after the plunge.

He continues, "The song explores the internal chaos of reaching out for help from the very person who’s dragging you down and the feeling of emotionally drowning when the one you trust most becomes the source of your pain. It’s a confrontation of that paradox: needing saving from the person who’s breaking you.

"It’s about that mental struggle, when you’re asking someone to pull you up, but they’re the reason you’re sinking in the first place. I wanted the music to reflect that push and pull; the verses are tight and claustrophobic, and then the chorus opens up like coming up for air. It’s dark, emotional, and one of the most cinematic moments on the record."

"With its weighty production, layered guitars, and emotional scope, it embodies that recurring theme throughout the record: the beauty and release that come from surviving your own storms," DAN concludes.

Watch the Official Visualizer for "Pulling Me Under" Below:

‘This Is Where The Show Begins,’ DAN’s debut album, is full of joy and confidence. There is swagger alongside sensitivity, a widening musical horizon that feels both fresh and bold. At the center of it all is that voice, as powerful as it is vulnerable, as emotive as it is commanding.

The lead single, “Saviour,” is a perfect opener. It bursts to life with attention-grabbing hard-rock stabs and pile-driving riffs, its verses simmering with quiet drama before exploding into a chorus that promises we are in for one hell of a ride. It struts, it shimmies, and it absolutely rocks. “Light ’em up,” indeed. There is no letup as we are thrown headlong into “She’s the Devil,” DAN delivering a colossal vocal punctuated by gonzo guitar gymnastics, the euphoria here is undeniable.

Elsewhere, we are taken to church with “Praise Hell,” and “Sober” is steeped in regret. We may even get a glimpse of where DAN is headed next with album closer “Home,” a sprawling, shapeshifting piece of alt-rock that never loses its soul. It feels like Glenn Hughes and 30 Seconds to Mars combining their superpowers.

‘This Is Where The Show Begins’ feels like the culmination of an incredible journey so far and the launching point for what comes next. It is a testament to backing yourself, trusting your instincts, and letting ambition, honesty and musical diversity lead the way. This is where it may truly begin for DAN. The exciting question now is where he will take us next.

DAN BYRNE swept in off the Mersey, announcing himself as a solo artist in 2023 with his debut EP, ‘Beginnings.’ His powerhouse, soul-inflected vocal and deftly-executed, yet hugely accessible songcraft has quickly marked him out as an artist on the rise. Blending contemporary edge with classic influence, BYRNE’s music is powerful, honest, and deeply emotive - widescreen in scope yet intimate at its core. It rocks, without question, but what truly sets him apart is the courage to weave sensitivity and vulnerability through the intensity. This isn’t just rock music - it has the heart and authenticity to connect with an audience beyond any one genre.

In just two years DAN has toured the UK three times, delivered standout performances at multiple festivals and found overwhelming support from Planet Rock - the UK’s leading rock station - where his first four singles amassed an impressive 25 weeks on the playlist. With that foundation firmly in place, BYRNE now turns his focus to the release of his long-awaited debut solo album, marking the next powerful step in his evolution as an artist.

"A deep sound design that spans subterranean dubby techno and modern bass sounds... a subtle but totally unmistakable insistence, building intensity gradually and only releasing it as the song fades back into the shadows" ~ I Die: You Die

"When you hear Slighter, the room expands. The soundscapes Allrich creates are larger than life and the production is unquestionably smooth" ~ QRO Magazine

"Slick, motorik, infectious and polished... Fans of Meat Beat Manifesto, Fluke, Future Sound of London and Leftfield should take note here" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"A creeping sludgy sex appeal... A hungry snarling club growl for your next playlist"~ Sounds and Shadows

Slighter presents his new album 'This Futile Engine', released via Brutal Resonance Records and Confusion Inc. This 13-track record features collaborations with Steven Seibold (Hate Dept) and Craig Joseph Huxtable (Ohm, Landscape Body Machine, Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit), as well as Yvette Winkler (Vaselyne), Morgue VVitch and Deep Dark Water.

Following up the intense, moody and cinematic lead single
'Have No Fear' (with traditional A-side and B-side versions), Slighter also presents an enthralling video for the latest single ‘Pulling Me Under’ feat. Craig Joseph Huxtable, with whom he had previously collaborated on earlier singles 'Give Me' and 'Lights Out', as heard on FOX’s Second Chance in 2016.

Slighter is the solo moniker of Colin C., who has been fine-tuning the future of electronic music since kickstarting his music in Mid City Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Creating from a unique vantage point, he was involved in collaborations for various Metropolis Records releases and Cleopatra Records compilations, in addition to Slighter releases via his own Confusion Inc. imprint.

Mixed and mastered at
The Cell Studio, through the sonic experimentation and innovation entailed in recording this album, Slighter continues to provide new fuel for the counterculture..

"This record was a lot of fun to make with my friends. I'm always enjoying collaborating on Slighter albums and, this time, it felt best to leave the majority of the vocal work to some great voices from Craig to Steven and Tara, Yvette, and Anastasia. It has been an experimental but cohesive experience, the classic cinematic vibes I'm known for hitting with faster Techno and killer bass lines across a 10 track narrative," says Colin C.

"I think I have a pretty unique way of working outside of genres, but my work still gives off this sort of expansive cinematic vibe, which also retaining a darker mood that gets me associated with various dark sub-culture genres. The themes I often explore has me adopting an 'Electronic Death Music' umbrella for the music I make - a play on words, with the music I make being the antithesis of popular EDM".

While very much an independent artist who largely files under the musical radar, Slighter's music has also found its way on to mainstream shows over the years, with songs and remixes featured on such television shows as Showtime's 'House Of Lies', 'Elementary' (CBS), 'Bones' and 'Lethal Weapon' (FOX), 'Defiance' and 'Covert Affairs' (NBC-Universal).

As of July 21, 'This Futile Engine' will be released across fine digital platforms, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. Available as a Deluxe Edition limited edition CD and as a digital download, this album includes three exclusive bonus remixes of 'Cold Black Waters (feat. Morgue VVitch)', 'Pulling Me Under' and 'Have No Fear'.

Slighter & Craig Joseph Huxtable traverse a dark tunnel on 'Pulling Me Under' single. ‘The Futile Engine’ LP is out July 21 via Brutal Resonance

Slighter presents his new single ‘Pulling Me Under’, on which Craig Joseph Huxtable (Ohm, Landscape Body Machine, Front Line Assembly, Noise Unit) provides evocative vocals over Slighter's signature atmospheric beats.

This is the second taste of
'This Futile Engine' album, to be released this summer via Brutal Resonance Records, following the release of the lead single 'Have No Fear' (an intense, moody and cinematic offering with traditional A-side and B-side versions) via Confusion Inc.

Slighter is the solo moniker of
Colin C., who has been fine-tuning the future of electronic music since kickstarting his music in Mid City Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Creating from a unique vantage point, he was involved in collaborations for various Metropolis Records releases and Cleopatra Records compilations, in addition to Slighter releases via his own Confusion Inc. imprint.

‘Pulling Me Under’ is a natural progression of two singles for which Slighter and Craig Joseph Huxtable collaborated -
'Give Me' (2019) and 'Lights Out', as heard on FOX’s Second Chance in 2016.

"For me lyrics-wise, ‘Pulling Me Under’ is all about being locked in a battle with the self, combating depression and negative thinking. The narrative shift back and forth as the song progresses like a fight for the survival of one's psyche,” says Craig Joseph Huxtable.

Mixed and mastered at The Cell Studio, this new 13-track record also features collaborations with Steven Seibold of Hate Dept, Yvette Winkler of Vaselyne, Morgue VVitch, Deep Dark Water and more. Here again, through sonic experimentation and innovation, Slighter continues to provide new fuel for the counterculture..

“Craig and I met through mutual friends and pretty much hit it off right away. We started chatting on collaborations, and how he’d like to do some more vocals since he and Chris Peterson (Front Line Assembly) had recently formed their band together
Ohmelectronic with Craig as the front man. So we got on with that with ‘Lights Out’, which we had a total bast doing together for a FOX TV drama called ‘Second Chance’. It’s great to be back working with him on the new album. I think Craig’s vocals on ‘Pulling Me Under’ are some of his best and risky,” says Colin C.

“I want to give my friends a challenge to try something new when we work together. The most effortless sort of collaborations happen when you are working with people who bring out the best in you and push each other out of our comfort zones a bit. Every song I do with Craig is like that.”

As of June 28, 'Pulling Me Under (Video Mix)' will be available from fine digital platforms, including
Apple MusicSpotify and Bandcamp. 'This Futile Engine' will be released on July 21, both as a Deluxe Edition CD and digital download. It is available now for pre-order via Bandcamp.
