OCEANHOARSE - Release Video for New Single "Logos"!

After recently introducing a new line-up and making a powerful comeback from a brief hiatus with the track "Killer & The Queen", Finnish heavy metal band OCEANHOARSE continues to forge ahead with the launch of their newest single, "Logos". The release is accompanied by an intense new video, which can be seen Below.

"This song is one big jin and jang. It starts with the most aggressive music we have made but changes into a mystical spring rain kinda vibe", OCEANHOARSE drummer Oskari Niemi states.

Bassist Silver Ots adds: "The RIFF catches you by the throat immediately and the song eases only in the middle section where it turns the jet engines off and goes gliding in the night sky. This is of course followed by an ass-ripping guitar solo and eventual crash-and-burn-heavy riff leaving no survivors."

"Logos" was mixed and mastered by Lauri Hämäläinen. Cover art by Ben Varon.
"Logos" is out now via Noble Demon.

OCEANHOARSE Unleashes "Killer & the Queen" Music Video and Reveals New Band Line-Up!

After a brief hiatus, Finnish heavy metal band OCEANHOARSE has returned, more powerful than ever, unveiling a fresh music video and a renewed band lineup! With a surge of new energy, a redefined sound, and a fresh perspective, the Heavy Metal quartet is excited to reveal the musical concoction they've been brewing in secrecy over the past year. Today marks the debut of their new single "Killer & the Queen" and the official introduction of bassist Silver Ots.

Watch the video for "Killer & the Queen" below.

“There was a lot of inner turmoil within the band around the release of our previous album 'Heads Will Roll', which escalated with the exit of bassist Jyri Helko”, guitarist Ben Varon explains. “I was also running pretty low motivation-wise, and needed a few months to take a breather and find the excitement for the music again. But it was soon clear to me, Joonas (Kosonen, vocals) and Oce (Oskari Niemi, drums) that we wanted to continue the band and still make music together. And I knew just the right guy to call for bass duties.”

Enter Silver Ots, Ben's old partner in crime from his previous band Amoral.

“Silver and me go way back, I believe we were 15 when we formed Amoral. I have always regarded him as one of the best riff composers in metal, so I knew the value that he would bring to the band with his songwriting in addition to his ridiculously tight bass playing. And the proof is in the pudding, all you need to do is to listen to 'Killer & The Queen', for which Silver composed the music for!”, Ben continues.

“I met the guys at a crossroads”, says Silver Ots. “After the band going full speed for so long there was a wind of change in the air. We decided to take the time, reflect back and look ahead, find a mutual vibe and see what we can come up with together. What you hear now is one of the pieces of new music we've been cooking up this past year.”

“'Killer & the Queen' showcases the more groovy side of the 'Hoarse”, says vocalist Joonas Kosonen. “Lyrically, the song is about those enemies very close to you. So close you can’t even see them coming. We’re super proud of this one, and we feel reborn after going through hellfire. A bit of dissonance sure makes art come alive!”, Joonas summarizes.

"Killer & The Queen" was mixed and mastered by Lauri Hämäläinen, who also co-produced and recorded the vocals. For the video, OCEANHOARSE returned to Guilty Visuals and Pete Inkinen, who they had worked with previously on the video for “Pryopen”. The cover artwork for the single was drawn by Samuli “Skrymer” Ponsimaa.

OCEANHOARSE Release Cover Version of METALLICA's "The Four Horsemen"!

Finnish four-piece Oceanhoarse, who released their sophomore studio album Heads Will Roll in February 2023 via Noble Demon, follows up today with a brand new single release, a cover version of Metallica's "The Four Horsemen". The track is accompanied by a brand new lyric video, which you can watch here:

Guitarist Ben Varon about the song:
"A little tip we took from Metallica is to start the recording session for a new album with a cover song. It's less stressful than trying to record one of the originals right away, and it's a great and fun way to set the sound and get comfortable with the room. This song was recorded during the recording of our last album 'Heads Will Roll', and we think it turned out pretty cool! We hope Het & the guys like it!"

"The Four Hoarsemen" is released via Noble Demon. Artwork by Dean Clayton.

OCEANHOARSE Release Video for New Track "Brick"!

Finnish heavy metallers Oceanhoarse are gearing up for the release of the band's sophomore full-length record, entitled Heads Will Roll, which will be coming out on February 17th via Noble Demon. In support of the new album, the band has released a video for the new single "Brick".

WATCH the video below.

Ben Varon comments.

"'Brick' is what it sounds like to lose your sanity. This is the musical equivalent to a high-speed chase, or a 2-minute 45-second long nightmare. The main riff actually started as this crazy c-part of another song, but then we thought, "why not just build a whole song around this fucked up riff?!" I can definitely hear the influence of late 80’s Megadeth here. Helmets on boys and girls!"

With former and current members of well-known acts like Amoral, Warmen and others, Oceanhoarse have become known as a band that's willing to explore things in their very own style, instead of sticking to any kind of average formular. Having released their debut studio album Dead Reckoning in 2021 (Noble Demon), followed by multiple single releases and extensive touring, the Helsinki based four-piece might be one of the most remarkable and hard working newcomers out there right now. So get prepared for Heads Will Roll, an album not to be missed in the year of 2023!

OCEANHOARSE Release Lyric Video for New Single "Carved in Stone"!

Finnish heavy metallers Oceanhoarse are proud to present "Carved in Stone" - the 5th single from their upcoming sophomore studio album Heads Will Roll, which will be released on February 17th, 2023 on Noble Demon. The song comes with a brand new lyric video, which you can watch here:

Guitarist Ben Varon on "Carved in Stone":
”Carved in Stone started with a melody written by my old guitar partner in Amoral, Silver Ots. I wanted to write music with him again after a decade-long break, so I asked him to send over any cool stuff he might have lying around. This melody made a big impression on me straight away, and I built a grandiose Oceanhoarse song around it. Lyrically the song is about how much of what we are, what we want and what we strive for is already within us either from since we are born, or from very early on in life.”

Heads Will Roll is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

In addition to releasing a brand new track, Oceanhoarse will present their annual Hoarsefest on December 30, a festival organized by the band that will take place at On the Rocks in Helsinki. More info about the line-up & the event can be found HERE. Tickets are available at THIS LOCATION. Don't miss this if you're in the area!

OCEANHOARSE Unleash Video for New Single "Pryopen"!

Today, Finnish heavy metallers Oceanhoarse have unleashed their brand new single "Pryopen"onto the world! A heavy pounding anthem but also a track with a serious and strong message, as singer Joonas Kosonen explains: "'Pryopen' is musically fast and captivating, perhaps stylistically even in the direction of more modern American metal. However, the song's lyrics are about the struggle with addiction. The subject touches many of us either directly or indirectly and we wanted to offer strength to those who are fighting, as well as to those who have already lost a loved one to addiction. We wanted to keep the lyrics of the verses raw and straightforward, depicting internal battles in one's own head just when the will is about to break. The purpose of the chorus is to light a small spark of hope for those who struggle in their everyday life: 'Won't bend this time, cause now I'm taking back what's mine!'"

The single comes with a brand new music video, that you can watch below.

Bass player Jyri Helko about the music video:
"The video shoot was something extraordinary. We wanted to have a scene where Joonas is about to drown in the middle of the empty sea during night time, but obviously shooting a scene like that during the freezing winter in Finland is impossible. Therefore, we had to get creative and we spent a whole day decorating a small indoor pool in our friend’s house to make it look like the real deal – I think we did a pretty damn good job with it."

"Pryopen" is taken from the band's upcoming sophomore studio album titled Heads Will Roll, which will be released on February 17 via Noble Demon. The album is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION

OCEANHOARSE Release New Single & Video for "Heads Will Roll"!

Today, Finnish heavy metal act Oceanhoarse have unleashed their brand new single "Heads Will Roll" onto the world. The single comes along with a music video, that you can watch below.

Ben Varon comments:

"We've been working on 'Heads Will Roll' for a few years, as it took a while for us to find the right groove for it. But we've believed in the song's potential from the beginning, so we kept at it. Finally, with the help of producer Kari Huikuri, we managed to capture the song as we feel it should be, while playing it live in the studio. No click tracks, just four musicians locking in and going for it. I think that energy shows through the end result!"

He continues:

"Lyrically, the song is another take on one of my 'favorite' subjects, which is corruption, tyranny and overall inhuman behaviour. Unfortunately, this song feels more relevant than ever right now..."

Having released their debut studio album Dead Reckoning in 2021 via Noble Demon, followed by multiple single releases, Oceanhoarse like to stay busy and might be one of the most remarkable and hard working newcomers out there right now. The band's explosive mix of crushing riffs as well as intense and groovy arrangements not only brought the band on tour with Swedish progressive metal masters SOEN recently, but also praise from fans and press alike. So make sure to check out the band's new music video or listen to "Heads Will Roll" through your favorite streaming platform HERE

OCEANHOARSE Release Lyric Video and New Single "Fading Neons"!

Oceanhoarse from Helsinki, Finland, is one of those exciting acts that never stands still. Having recently released their debut studio album Dead Reckoning via Noble Demon, the band continues to stay busy, releasing the track "Fading Neons" today.

Oceanhoarse comments:
"Before the new album, we've wanted to release this gem from the archives that we recorded as a special bonus track during the 'Dead Reckoning' sessions. 'Fading Neons' was one of the first songs we wrote when we started the band - and it's also proven to be one of the most popular ones, thanks to the Wreckfest soundtrack! We have played it on our shows frequently and it's always been a blast - so we figured we should record the new, heavier live arrangement that we have developed over the last few years and make this new version rock even harder than the old one!"

Known for their explosive blend of crushing riffs, vocal harmonies and high voltage arrangements, with "Fading Neons" Oceanhoarse deliver another high-octane, groovy metal anthem. So make sure to listen to the track through your favorite streaming platform or watch the lyric video below:

Oceanhoarse Premieres Brand New Lyric Video for "The Damage"!; New Album, Dead Reckoning, to be Released August 20th on Nobl

August 20, 2021 will see the release of Dead Reckoning, the highly anticipated debut studio album by Helsinki-based heavy metal outfit OCEANHOARSE. Featuring 13 tracks, loaded with crushing riffs, vocal harmonies and high voltage arrangements, Dead Reckoning shows a band willing to explore things in their very own style, instead of sticking to any kind of average formula.

After the previously- released singles "One With The Gun" and "Reaching Skywards", today OCEANHOARSE have released a brand new lyric video for the track "The Damage". If you’re a fan of Machine HeadMegadeth and other riff-oriented metal masters but still got a secret crush for Alice in Chains or Avenged Sevenfold -type melodic choruses, you don't want to miss this!

Watch the video here:

"The Damage' is a heavy metal anthem that begins with a moody guitar intro followed by haunting vocals. Then, the song takes a sudden U-turn and drags you in the middle of a metal mayhem filled with some lightning fast drumming! The Alice in Chains style wailing vocal harmonies and the song's epic closure with harmonized guitars ultimately leads us to the punchline: 'The damage is done.'' the band comments.

"Dead Reckoning", the group's first studio album (Oceanhoarse released a live album The Damage is Done – LIVE! last year, recorded on their first European tour) will be released on August 20th through Noble Demon and is now available for pre-save and pre-order HERE

Oceanhoarse Premieres Brand New Lyric Video for "Reaching Skywards"!; New Album, Dead Reckoning, to be Released August 20th

Helsinki-based Heavy Fucking Metal (patent pending!) group Oceanhoarse have released their new single "Reaching Skywards" today. With its in-your-face metal riffing, 90's style psychedelia and astral beauty of the chorus, this is quite possibly the most versatile Oceanhoarse song to date.

"'Reaching Skywards' is my favorite track from our upcoming album” drummer Oskari Niemi announces. “It kicks off with some eardrum-slapping metal before the verse brings a dose of funk to your afternoon, and finally the chorus lifts you up into the skies. This has to be the most twisted combination of grooves so far in our catalog! I rarely get emotional, but Joonas' (Kosonen, vocals) screams in the second half of the song always give me chills."

"It's a never-ending source of amazement to me how some people have no issues exploiting others and watch the world burn around them while they keep getting wealthier and more powerful. There's nothing scarier than inhumanity and lack of compassion. I find myself leaning towards these topics time and again when writing lyrics” guitarist Ben Varon continues.

Watch the lyric video for "Reaching Skywards" here:

Oceanhoarse have amassed an impressive two million plus streams on Spotify alone, and all this before their first studio album has even been released. The band's previous single "One With the Gun" was released in late February, and has already hit the 100 000 stream mark.

"Dead Reckoning", the group's first studio album (Oceanhoarse released a live album The Damage is Done – LIVE! last year, recorded on their first European tour) will be released on August 20th through Noble Demon and is now available for pre-save and pre-order HERE
