US-Argentinian indie-pop duo AEROLINEA present debut album 'All We Need' & launch South American tour

Indie pop duo Aerolinea presents thei'All We Need' album, released via My Long Wknd Records. This debut eight-track offering also sees a guest appearance by Failure drummer Kellii Scott. With passionate tandem lyrics, intertwining guitars and rhythms that sometimes groove and sometimes surprise, Aerolinea crafts a sound designed for romantics and misfits, for late nights and strange places.

Aerolinea is made up of Argentinian artist Victoria Real and Eric Weissinger of Atlanta dream-gaze duo I Am a Rocketship - both songwriters, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. This is the first time for either musician to collaborate with someone else in fulfilling all of these roles simultaneously.

What began in April 2023 with an Instagram message led to a year of file sharing and meet ups in Florida and Argentina. The two met the pandemic thanks to a chance meeting while performing for the NMER Music Festival (organised by No Me Escucho Records) - a spark that planted the seed for what is now Aerolinea.

The sharing - of feelings, sounds, lyrics, and roles - comes across in the way the songs move, straddling changing rhythms and intertwining guitar lines. At times the album ventures into art-rock territory, before arcing back into stripped-down grooves. This is an album driven by lyrics of love, longing, and dreams, Real's and Weissinger's voices blending and then separating, building tension and then bringing release.

Victoria Real honed her musical skills under the tutelage of King Crimson guitar legend Robert Fripp, first as a Guitar Craft student and later performing with the League of Crafty Guitarists. She has released four albums as a solo artist with a fifth album in production. In 2021, she received the “Artist Revelation Rock of the Year” award at the Cordoba Entertainment Awards (Premios CIEyA) and was nominated a “Artist of the Year” and “Rock Artist of the Year” in 2023 and 2024.

As half of I Am a Rocketship, Eric Weissinger has released five albums and an EP. Before that, he was bassist for Anne Richmond Boston (DB Recs). As bassist, guitarist and singer in various  projects, he has opened for numerous notable bands, including The Black Crowes, James, The Wedding Present, Cracker and Portastatic.

The duo also presents their new video for 'Nervous', about which Eric Weissinger says, ''Nervous' is a different way of describing feeling alone. We need connections, and when you’re missing a connection, you start to doubt yourself, and not feel complete. You worry. The song is more about the subject’s emotions, and you don’t know anything about who they miss."

Victoria Real adds, "Nervous is the feeling we wanted to express here. Like a hunch that something is out of place. We put music and lyrics to it to evoke that feeling and thereby also evoke instant relief when expressed and channeled in this song".

Earlier, Aerolinea shared their debut single 'What Moves You', a dreamy track that oscillates between minimalistic pensiveness and intense euphoria for a sonic journey that is worth the flight. Its dramatic video was directed by renowned cinematographer Nico Purdía.

As of November 28, the 'All We Need' album is available on fine digital platforms, including Bandcamp,  via My Long Wknd Records. Aerolinea will be touring Argentina, Chile and Brazil in the new year, kicking off at Buenos Aires' Bar Carnal on January 11.

US-Argentinian duo AEROLINEA announces debut album 'All We Need', shares 'Nervous' video

Indie pop duo Aerolinea presents their new single 'Nervous', previewing thei'All We Need' album, the debut offering from this Argentinian-American project, which also sees a guest appearance by Failure drummer Kellii Scott. This eight-track record hits all music platforms on November 28.

Aerolinea is made up of Argentinian artist Victoria Real and Eric Weissinger of Atlanta dream-gaze duo I Am a Rocketship - both songwriters, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists.

'Nervous' commences with a simple guitar line over a minimal kick and snare drum, interrupted by a repeated distorted riff. Quiet, thoughtful verses give way to a lush, melodic chorus, with both members of the band joining forces. The song closes with chaotic guitar and echoing, overlapping voices, bringing it to a nervous but satisfying conclusion.

''Nervous' is a different way of describing feeling alone. We need connections, and when you’re missing a connection, you start to doubt yourself, and not feel complete. You worry. The song is more about the subject’s emotions, and you don’t know anything about who they miss," says Eric Weissinger.

Argentinian-American indie pop duo Aerolinea present debut single 'What Moves You'

Argentinian-American indie pop duo Aerolinea present their debut single 'What Moves You', complimented by a dramatic video directed by renowned cinematographer Nico Purdía and filmed by Mariano Laguzzi.

This is the first offering from thei'All We Need' album, an eight-track offering slated for release on November 28, which also sees an appearance by drummer Kellii Scott of Failure elsewhere.

What began in April 2023 with an Instagram message led to a year of long-distance file sharing and meet ups in Florida and Argentina. Thus was born Aerolinea, comprised of Victoria Real and Eric Weissinger. Both are songwriters, vocalists, guitarists and multi-instrumentalists, with Eric in Atlanta and Victoria in Buenos Aries.

What begins with Eastern-influenced vocals at the outset shifts to a more powerful exhibition of Real's vocals, followed by those of Weissinger and then joined in unison. This dreamy track oscillates track between minimalistic pensiveness and intense euphoria for a sonic journey that is worth the flight.

As many recent creative projects, this one came to form during the pandemic, during which time the two artists had both taken part in an online music festival. The spark that led to their collaboration - a quest, you could say, given that both had ongoing in-person musical projects in their respective home cities. After sending some rough song ideas back and forth, they came to the realization that they each nurtured something special in each other, bringing them to new sonic realms worthy of that exploration.

Eric Weissinger shares, "This is our first collection of songs and is a record of how we created music together during our first year, before meeting in person. If it feels mysterious at times, it's because our future was a mystery to us. It was inspired by our separate lives, but also by the potential we had to make music together. We recorded in our homes in Argentina and the U.S. and did final vocals together in Florida. We played all instruments, and the engineering and production was shared via emails, file sharing, phone calls, and texts."

With passionate tandem lyrics, intertwining guitars and rhythms that sometimes groove and sometimes surprise, Aerolinea crafts a sound designed for romantics and misfits, for late nights and strange places.

"This project really allows me to explore my creativity in a completely different context, with challenges and surprises since we two creating together: it’s an amazing experience because we can nourish our musical ideas and new things emerge. Aerolinea itself it feels like following a third force, a muse," says Victoria Real.

Victoria Real honed her musical skills under the tutelage of King Crimson frontman and guitar legend Robert Fripp, first as a Guitar Craft student and later performing with the League of Crafty Guitarists. In addition, she has had a blossoming career as a solo artist, releasing four albums under her name with a fifth album currently in production. For the past few years, she has received accolades at the Cordoba Entertainment Awards (Premios CIEyA), winning the award for “Artist Revelation Rock of the Year” in 2021 and nominated for both “Artist of the Year” and “Rock Artist of the Year” in 2023 and 2024.

Eric Weissinger is most renowned as half of Atlanta-based dream-gaze duo I Am a Rocketship, who have released five albums and an EP. He was also previously bassist for Anne Richmond Boston (DB Recs). As a bassist, guitarist and singer in various project, Eric Weissinger had opened for bands such as The Wedding Present, The Black Crowes, James, Cracker, and Portastatic.

'What Moves You' is is out now, available from fine digital platforms everywhere, including Bandcamp, where the full 'All We Need' album (out November 28) is now available for pre-order via My Long Wknd Records. Aerolinea will be touring Argentina in the new year, kicking off at Buenos Aires' Bar Carnal on January 11.

Atlanta duo I Am a Rocketship presents new single 'Do You Feel Good' feat. Kellii Scott (Failure, Veruca Salt, Dr. Dre, Pink)

"‘Do You Feel Good’ is laden with a swaggering attitude and a thunderous delivery augmented by a raking guitar riff. Frontwoman L E Kippner has a laconic delivery with style and power – indeed the duo have the melodies and thunder similar to Shirley Manson and Garbage. The sound is epic and dramatic with an euphoric, anthemic chorus and a delicious taste of wry cynicism" ~ Backseat Mafia

Atlanta-based atmospheric alt-pop duo
I Am a Rocketship present their new single 'Do You Feel Good', a powerful introduction to their forthcoming album 'La Cruella', a collection of ten tracks about uncertainty, fear and dreams.

'Do You Feel Good' is about how people transform into their perceived personas - from folks wanting to dress like Instagram influencers when they travel, to politicians creating fictional back stories, this song asks if you truly feel good once you are an artificial construct.

Always based around melodies, I Am a Rocketship mixes warm vocals, loud guitars, and cool electronic beats to explore that place where rock and trip-hop never quite met.

While I Am a Rocketship is a self-contained duo (writing, recording, and creating art and videos themselves), this single represents the first time they have enlisted an outside contributor -
Kellii Scott. Perhaps best known as the drummer for the legendary band Failure and his work with other artists, including Veruca Salt, Dr. Dre, Pink, Enemy and Christina Aguilera.

"We tried a different way of writing songs for this album, and it turned out that every song had a story. Since our musical style has changed a bit with this album, the way that the lyrics tell those stories has changed as well. These songs don't spell out what is happening but are about feelings. We hope people will find something to recognize, maybe feel that one of the song speaks to them," says frontwoman L E Kippner.

"It was fun adding Kelli's drums to our sound. He recorded the drums separately and the final song didn't end up at all like we expected because when we heard the drums it inspired a lot of changes to the rest. I wouldn't mind doing more collaborative work in the future."

Before I Am a Rocketship, Eric Weissinger was a bassist and guitarist backing up various artists and opening for the likes of The Wedding Present, The Black Crowes and James. Everything changed due to a chance meeting with L E Kippner - cellist, scientist, radio DJ and singer for Swedish synth-pop duo Neobox. After forming Hitchcock Blondes in Ohio, they relocated to Atlanta to try new ideas and launched I Am a Rocketship, for which their music has been warmly met across the world.

'La Cruella' will be the band's sixth major release, following their 2016 debut album 'Mission Control', the 'Mind Grafitti' album (2019), 'Ghost Stories' album (2020), the 'oRAnGE' EP (2020) and the latest long-player 'Lies and Legends' (2021).

"We just let go on this album, and often jokingly said "well, this is going to kill any reputation we had."  It's very pure, for want of a better term. We just wrote what we felt," explains Eric Weissinger.

"This album is more improvisational than the others. A lot of the instrumental tracks were first takes, no punches or correcting. I wouldn't say there was less thought put into this, but it was less planned than our other albums."

As of June 13, 'Do You Feel Good' is available as a
Bandcamp exclusive. On August 4, the full 'La Cruella' album will be released on all fine music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

"Pleasing to the ears and compelling to the heart... Brilliant" Jammerzine

American-Swedish indie pop outfit I Am a Rocketship have released their new album 'Lies and Legends', their most ambitious offering to date, following well-received singles 'Fever Dream' and 'What's This For'.

Based in Atlanta, I Am a Rocketship is a duo comprising Eric Weissinger and L E Kippner, who mix smooth impressionistic lyrics and rock guitar with a dash of Dirty South beats and psychedelic bombast.

Both raised on folk and classical music, the two later discovered bands such as Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Massive Attack and Sigur Ros. Suckers for a pop hook, I Am a Rocketship is a self-contained duo, who write, record and create art and videos without the involvement of other contributors.

The new 'Lies and Legends' album is comprised of ten songs about the appeal, in trying times, of lies and legends over reason and love. They give people hope, a feeling of belonging, and frequently, a license to do terrible things in the name of their belief.

"When facts are scary, people turn to belief. I guess these are songs about faith, how it can be comforting, but blinding," says guitarist and programmer Eric Weissinger.

All the music on the 'Lies and Legends' album was recorded on a notebook computer during early 2021 - a very productive year for the band given the amount of time spent under lockdown, with late 2020 also bringing their 'oRAnGE' EP, a release laced with frustration, sadness and rage over the rise of authoritarianism and accelerating environmental collapse.

In April 2020r, I Am a Rocketship released their 'Ghost Stories' LP, which were preceded by, 'Mind Grafitti' (2019) and their debut offering 'Mission Control'(2016).

In his past incarnation, Eric Weissinger would back up various artists, opening for bands such as The Wedding Present, The Black Crowes, James, Cracker and Portastatic. But everything changed upon meeting L E Kippner - cellist, scientist, radio DJ and singer for Swedish synth-pop duo Neobox. At first forming Hitchcock Blondes in Ohio, they relocated to Atlanta to make a fresh start as I Am a Rocketship.

As of November 11, the 'Lies and Legends' album will be available across digital platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, and can also be obtained directly from the artist via Bandcamp.
