South Wales trio Holding Absence have today announced the release of their third album, ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’, on August 28th via new label partner Sumerian Records. To mark the announcement, the band have also released a brand new single, "Reflection", a bruised, deeply introspective anthem about confronting self-destruction, distorted self-image and the painful process of learning to heal, evolve and finally accept your own reflection.
Speaking of the track and today’s announcement, frontman Lucas Woodland shares, “We are ecstatic to release our new single "Reflection", taken from our upcoming album ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. This album is our boldest and most creative body of work to date, so we can't wait for you to hear the whole thing in August! In the meantime, we hope you enjoy "Reflection.”
'Modern Life Is Lonely' is a deeply human exploration of grief, love, identity and emotional survival in an overstimulated world, tracing the fragile line between despair and rebirth through imagery of broken mirrors, fading memories, fractured bodies and ghost-like connections. Across the record, Holding Absence wrestle with loneliness, trauma, mortality and the search for meaning, balancing crushing vulnerability with moments of transcendence and hope as the album’s characters attempt to reconnect with themselves and each other before time, distance and modern existence pull them apart completely. After bringing the heat at last week's Welcome To Rockville, Holding Absence will next be setting their sight on Sonic Temple this weekend, Louder Than Life in September, and Aftershock in October. For ticket info, please click here.
