Midwinter Release New EP 'CHAPTER THREE: Still Hurts" And Drop Official Music Video For "Lying Figures" via Papercut Recordings

Atmospheric metalcore quintet Midwinter has today released their latest EP, 'CHAPTER THREE: Still Hurts' via Papercut Recordings. In celebration of the release, the band dropped the official music video for their new single, "Lying Figures". Speaking about the track, the band commented:

"This song lives in that desperate space of limbo, when you’re caught between the love you lost and the reality of having to move forward. It’s about the mental struggle of still wanting something you once had, even when you know deep down it wasn’t healthy for you. Musically, we really focused on creating something that feels truly moving. We wanted the instrumentals to carry that weight so the listener can feel the sadness and emotion behind every part of the song."

North American fans will also have the chance to see the band hit the road alongside Unprocessed and Allt, starting Monday, April 13 in Dallas, Texas (tickets on sale at the link here). Stream 'CHAPTER THREE: Still Hurts' here, and watch the official "Lying Figuresmusic video below.

ABOUT MIDWINTER

Midwinter carves beauty from chaos with their emotionally charged brand of progressive metalcore. Blending punishing thall-infused riffs, lush ambient layers, and introspective lyrics, the Cleveland, Ohio based five-piece explores themes of loss, identity, and healing. Their sound design is immersive and intentional—layered with glitchy textures, dissonant melodies, and experimental production techniques that push genre boundaries and elevate every emotional peak and breakdown.

Midwinter Drop New Track "Champagne" and Official Music Video via Papercut Recordings

Emerging atmospheric metalcore quintet Midwinter have today unleashed their new single "Champagne" via their new label home, Papercut Recordings. The track captures the band's signature style, blending crushing heaviness and electronic dissonance with soaring vocals and moments of luminous clarity. Accompanying the release is the cinematic music video, which evokes the decadent spirit of the Roaring Twenties but emphasizes the song's theme of emotional divide when paired with the song. When asked about the inspiration and sound design of "Champagne", the band shared:

"'Champagne' is used as a metaphor to celebrate something that is actually hollow. It symbolizes escapism and temporary euphoria. At its core, the track explores abandonment and betrayal but are masked behind something generally associated with a celebration.

Sonically, we wanted to experiment with contrasting emotions. Similar to the lyrics, certain sections of the track emote feelings of beautiful nostalgia but soon give way to extreme and jarring textures. Blending these together creates a push-pull between optimistic reflection and the pain of loss."

Midwinter will also be on the road starting in April alongside Unprocessed and Allt, so be sure to get your tickets now at the link here. Stream "Champagne" here, watch the official music video below, and stay tuned for more Midwinter news coming this year.
