More than just a nod to their iconic roots, March Of The Unheard boldly announces that melodic death metal is still evolving. Thirty years after their members first propelled the Gothenburg sound to global prominence, THE HALO EFFECT proves there’s no shortage of fresh ideas and electrifying energy in the genre.

As a testemony of the album’s ferocity, THE HALO EFFECT has released a stunning video for the lead single 'What We Become'. A quintessential display of the Gothenburg sound, the track is a masterclass in melodic aggression, featuring razor-sharp guitar leads, driving percussion, and shout-along hooks that have kept metalheads enthralled for generations.

Frontman Mikael Stanne comments:”The wait is over! Our second album drops today and we could not be more proud of this one. The level of confidence, experience and love of the craft is beyond evident in these songs and to finally be able to share it with all you feels amazing. This song is all about how our emotions can break us down and transform our very being through depression, self doubt and insecurity.

"'Cruel Perception' is packed with guitar harmonies and melodies that sprung from my noodling on the acoustic guitar in the living room one late night with a coffee in hand, which turned out to be a true Melodic Death Metal anthem. It's funny how some songs turn out in the end from late night acoustic guitar noodling to full on Melodic Death Metal, but that's the beauty with Halo, you never know how it's going to sound in the end with everybody's magic in the studio. Swedish melodic death metal rising stars THE HALO EFFECT has just dropped the official music video for their powerful new single, 'March Of The Unheard', the title track from their highly anticipated sophomore album, set to be released on January 10th, 2025.

The visually stunning video matches the intensity of the song, blending dark, atmospheric imagery with explosive performance shots, delivering a cinematic experience that complements the band’s signature sound.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new material from THE HALO EFFECT. The upcoming album March Of The Unheard promises to showcase the band's evolving artistry while staying true to the melodic death metal roots that their fans have come to love.

Guitarist Niclas Engelin comments on the song:”This song is based around the melody theme for the intro on all our ninety-six shows. I just got the idea of starting the whole album with this theme and building a full song around it. Mikael took the whole song to another level with his lyrics, which enlighten the need for our society to hear the voices of the unheard - the powerless."

He continues: "We are all suckers for melancholic melodies in an up tempo beat, and add some harmonies to that, and we get a beautiful Halo song. Working with the mighty Gothenburg Marching band "Göta Lejon" just blew our minds both in the studio and live.. damn they are powerfull!!”
