Regarding the inspiration for “Back Around” as well as the rest of the EP, Hindsight states, “For this record, we really wanted to get back to some of the original sounds and styles that got us all into playing music in the first place. We are all huge fans of modern rock, metal, and electronic music and that is obvious on our previous release Catalyst. However, we all grew up heavily influenced by the alternative, grunge, and punk movements of the mid-late 90s and early 00s as well. This song and record was very organic for us and we had a blast recording it. Nothing is forced and more than anything, we just wanted to make something fun that we could all really jam too. Lyrically, the song “Back Around” discusses coming to terms with the fact that despite music being an exhausting pursuit, it always seems to keep drawing us back and continues to add value to our lives.”

The track has recently received heavy fan voting to make it one of ten independent artists to be featured on Houston iHeart radio station “94.5 The Buzz.” As a result, the band decided to shoot the video for “Back Around” and schedule a series of performances in the Houston area in December, January, and February along with additional select dates in the gulf coast region. Their next concert date will be held at Acadia in Houston, Texas with fellow Texas rockers Downfall 2012.

Hindsight Releases Intense New Song Titled “TRANSFORM” with Influences of Rock, Metal, Prog, and Electronic Music

Houston based rock band Hindsight released their new hard-hitting song titled “Transform” now available on all major platforms.

HINDSIGHT - "TRANSFORM" (Official Lyric Video)

The song pairs elements of rock, metal, and prog while also incorporating aspects of electronic music to create a unique sound.

“We wanted to push ourselves out of our comfort zone on this one and let the song really drive us where it wanted to go. While not always the case, we decided that approach this with the mindset that nothing was off of the table in terms of tones, sound choices, arrangement, and instrumentation. This song was for sure one of the more progressive tunes that we have written to this point but still contains some of the chorus driven writing that we tend to gravitate towards.”

Conceptually the song describes humanity’s increasing reliance on digital platforms for information (something that can be both greatly beneficial and harmful) as well as the unfortunate frequent occurrence of taking everything face value and sharing it as truth without properly sourcing it. Such things cause one to exist in a self-created bubble built on confirmation bias.

The track again features David Hitchcock who collaborated with Hindsight on keys, synths, and other electronic elements for this track as well as their previous releases “Rhythm of Fate” and “Who Would You Have Been” that were released earlier this year. The band also once again worked with producer Dean Dichoso who has produced a number of Hindsight tracks in the past (In addition to recent releases from band such as Candlebox) to bring this track to life.

The fifth single release to be included on Hindsight’s upcoming EP release titled Catalyst and more can be found on all online streaming platforms…..

“Where We Found Hope,” the Houston TX based rock band Hindsight have now released a new high energy singled titled “Rhythm of Fate”

is now available on all streaming platforms. Much like their earlier single release, this song also features a nod to some of the industrial and electronic music acts of the 90s and early 00s (NIN, Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, The Hunger) while still maintaining its guitar and bass driven roots. This track will also appear of their upcoming 2021 EP release titled Catalyst. This song will be the first of several tracks that the band will be releasing in the coming months as the band gears up for their summer and fall concert schedule.

Conceptually, the song involves dealing with the bitterness of those who are unable to deal with the success of others around them who they claim to care about while at the same time not coming to terms with their own fears that have prevented them from succeeding themselves. In general, the band feels that this is a common occurrence in many areas of society but in particular, it is one that plagues music and the arts in general.

Sonically, the band wanted to explore a song driven primarily by the rhythm section (drum and bass) with the guitars providing powerful support during chorus and breakdown sections of the song. The song also involved various electronic loops and sequencers throughout. Lastly, this track featured several electronic synth sections played by David Hitchcock, a longtime friend and once member of the group.

HINDSIGHT has premiered their official music video for single "Where We found Hope." The single is off of their upcoming EP titled Catalyst that will release this summer.

"With our first release in over three years, we are excited to premier the first of a series of music videos we will be releasing in the near future to support our upcoming EP “Catalyst.” This song titled “Where We Found Hope” is dedicated to the healing power of music for those who sometimes receive the right message at the right time that helps them overcome some form of struggle in their lives. It also represents a call to all musicians that no matter how discouraged the world around us may make us feel about our desire to make music, the internal drive to do so can often be something positive for others listening (including ourselves). Lastly, with this video we also suggest that musical expression is something musicians should continuously pursue no matter what entities regulate how the general public consumes media and/or art. With regards to the video, this first release will represent the first segment of a connected five-part story with each song representing a new chapter in the central characters lives while also tying in the message of each song" says the band.

They continue, "In general, this EP will very much represent a sonic evolution compared to our previous releases. In particular, the upcoming EP will feature our love of electronic and industrial music while we also simultaneously reveal our live rock and metal roots. In particular for this track, the drum and bass take a significant tone-setting role. We are very much excited to finally be sharing it with everyone. While many of our spring concert dates have been greatly affected by COVID-19, we felt it was important to move forward with the release of this track. We figured that a song about hope through struggle was something positive we could put out right now."

For now, fans can get a copy of the new single “Where We Found Hope” or stream the track on all major digital platforms. For a limited time, the song will be available from the band’s bandcamp site (www.hindsightrock.bandcamp.com) as “pay what you want.” – (Download for free, download for a penny, or if you want to help us get down the road on our next tour, whatever you feel).

The present lineup for the band “Hindsight” re-formed in 2013 following the release of their full length album titled Momentum including founding members Brad Lambert (Vocals/Guitars) and Andrew Jastram (Guitars) who had been playing together since the early 00s. Following the entrance of bass player Jesse Huerta and drummer Lincoln LaCour, the band set out on a series of national tours between 2013-2019 while also releasing a singled titled “Ashes” in 2017. Stylistically, Hindsight's music has always combined 90's alternative rock with modern heavy metal and metalcore. This has lead the band to be highly adaptable to various live performing environments. With the release of their new concept EP Catalyst set to be released late Summer 2020, the band will yet again be expanding and exploring their sound while also carefully playing to the themes they have set to explore with the upcoming release.

The band was originally set to begin a tour to support the new single release and upcoming EP starting in the middle of May 2020 into mid-June. However, due to COVID-19, they are currently in the process of rescheduling concert dates with select live performances and touring in the fall to support their new EP release.
