The highly anticipated album is released via Fat Wreck Chords imprint, Bottles To The Ground and is available to listen to on streaming platforms HERE with physical copies being available to purchase HERE.

Speaking on the album's release, Ceschi Ramos shares

“ ‘This Is Crime Wave’ has a nostalgia about it that feels familiar to people our age but, in actuality, there is nothing quite like it.

It’s the album I needed at 16 that nobody ever created for me. We’ve made a record that feels classic & important for the times but could have been felt 20 years ago and will continue to be relevant 20 years from now.

It’s exciting to finally share this with the public & hope people feel the amount of experiences, friendship & caring that went into its creation.”

With producer, accomplice and label boss, Fat Mike emphatically stating

“In forty years this is the most excited I’ve ever been about an album.”

Codefendants released five singles prior to today's release - "Suicide By Pigs", "Abscessed" feat. Get Dead & Onry, "Bad Business" feat. N8NOFACE, "Def Cons" and "Fast Ones" featuring the first new verse from legendary rapper, The DOC in 19 years.

These tracks were each accompanied by a music video that when played in order, combine to create a short film written by Fat Mike that lays bare the hard hitting realities of police corruption and brutality in the USA today. The This Is Crime Wave Series features cameo appearances from Rick Thorne (Professional BMX Biker), Stacey Dee of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Jen Razavi of The Bombpops, Bettie Bondage (Pro Dominatrix), Zeta (also the backing band for Codefendants on their North American tour), 2MEX, MYKA9 and Awol One.

Codefendants will hit the road for their first ever US headline tour in April. The 'This Is Crime Wave Tour' will kick-off in San Francisco on April 14th and hit 10 further cities before culminating in Atlanta, GA on April 27th and will feature special guests, Zeta as support. Codefendants will also play several shows with NOFX on their Final Tour and will appear at Lost Festival in St Petersburg, FL on April 29th. ABOUT CODEFENDANTS

Sam King from Get Dead’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was incarcerated. Months later, they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock over a bottle of Jameson. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.

They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with Fat Mike from NOFX as producer. Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album that sounded like nothing else - a completely genre-fluid album - a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. And thus a whole new genre - Crime Wave - was born. That album entitled This Is Crime Wave will be released via Fat Wreck imprint, Bottles To The Ground.

CODEFENDANTS Enlist Rap Legend The DOC For His First New Verse In 19 Years On New Track/Video; "Fast Ones"

In an act of what some might call saving the best 'til last, Fat Mike, Sam King and Ceschi Ramos aka Codefendants have dropped the series finale of their music video pentalogy today for brand new track "Fast Ones". Both the song and the video feature legendary rapper, The DOC, who lends his first new verse in 19 years to the track. Listen to "Fast Ones" HERE and watch the video below. Catch up on the previous video episodes HERE.

Speaking on working with Codefendants on the new track and video, The DOC says

"My experience was nothing short of exhilarating, as I found myself surrounded by an ensemble of gifted individuals and luminaries from the underground hip-hop and punk rock scene. I am eagerly anticipating the release of our collective creation, and I can't wait for all of you to witness the magic we have conjured up."

Adding to this, Ceschi Ramos shares

"We were raised on hip hop & punk. To us, blending those sounds is not some cute fashion statement or gimmick that we can suddenly abandon for the next trend.  I always think of that photo of Public Enemy wearing Minor Threat shirts in the 80s and realize how that image alone sums up a good chunk of my musical & cultural upbringing. Getting to record alongside the legendary DOC and watch as he crafted ferocious, wisdom-laced bars was an absolute honor. Heads in the know understand that this is a rarity, DOC doesn’t just rap on anyone’s shit, it had been many years since he unleashed the growl & we spent time together to eventually create a Codefendants call to arms theme in an organic fashion. When we were able to film the video with Indecline so much of our artist family came through - Myka 9 of The Freestyle Fellowship, 2Mex, Awol One, Factor Chandelier, Stacey Dee of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Jenn from the Bombpops, Zeta, Rick Thorne & many others…Punk Rock & Underground Hip Hop were properly represented - it was an unforgettable day."

The new video also features cameo appearances from Rick Thorne (Professional BMX Biker), Stacey Dee of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Jen Razavi of The Bombpops, Bettie Bondage (Pro Dominatrix), Zeta (also the backing band for Codefendants on their North American tour), 2MEX, MYKA9 and Awol One.

Codefendants will release their highly anticipated debut album, 'This Is Crime Wave', on March 24th via Fat Wreck Chords imprint, Bottles To The Ground. Pre-order bundles are available now HERE and fans can pre-save the album on streaming platforms HERE.

NOFX's Fat Mike Launches New Musical Collective; CODEFENDANTS

When they decided to give MPC’s and distortion boxes to inmates….Crime Wave was born.

What if Killing Joke played reggae but with minor chords and Tom Waits was singing and playing piano? Well, that would probably be terrible. Codefendants are not.

Fat Mike of NOFX's newly launched project, Codefendants, are the breath of fresh air and the steel-toe-cap kick in the nuts music has needed for too long. Impossible to define by traditional standards, Codefendants were forged out of a desire to make an album that sounded like nothing else - a completely genre-fluid album - a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. And thus a whole new genre - Crime Wave was born.

Today they release the music video for “Suicide By Pigs”, Episode 1 of a cinematic pentalogy which succeeds previously released music video for Episode 2 and the track “Abscessed” which was surreptitiously released without fanfare on YouTube last month and has already racked up over 33k views. Watch both videos by clicking the images below or by clicking HERE and HERE. If you don’t want to ruin the viewing experience, watch Episode 2 first, followed by Episode 1. It will all make sense, just trust us.

Non-album versions of "Suicide By Pigs" (Baz Mix) and "Abscessed" (10" Version) are available as part of a newly released 10" split also featuring two Get Dead tracks "Safe Places" and "Pepperspray" (Chris Dugan Mix) , out now via Fat Wreck Chords HERE.

Sam King from Get Dead’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was in prison. Months later they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock, over a bottle of Jameson. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.

They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with Fat Mike from NOFX as producer. Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album that sounded like nothing else. That album will be released in early 2023.

You can’t hear the band on streaming services yet, but you CAN listen to their 6 song demo cassette tape if you send $7 to a PO BOX in Brooklyn. Videos can be seen on YouTube… at least the ones that weren’t banned. They just finished filming a five- song video series that will probably not be seen on YouTube, but will be available at thisiscrimewave.com. The short movie, made up of the five music videos, features the legendary rapper DOC, N8NOFACE, 2Mex, and Stacey Dee from Bad Cop / Bad Cop.
