Billy Morrison, Corey Taylor & Steve Vai Save the World from Corporate Greed in New Animated Video

Iconic rock musicians Billy Morrison, Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), and legendary guitarist Steve Vai have teamed up to unleash their latest single and music video, "Incite The Watch." This dynamic release is the fifth single from Billy Morrison’s recently launched solo album, The Morrison Project, available now through TLG | ZOID | Virgin Music Group.

This single follows Morrison's release, "Crack Cocaine," a riveting collaboration with legendary icons Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Stevens that skyrocketed into the nation’s top of the Active Rock Mediabase chart at #1 earlier this year.

Directed by Brett Boggs, known for his work on several Disney films, the video paints a vivid picture of a dystopian Los Angeles. In this alternate reality, society has been overtaken by an oppressive, conformist regime that has outlawed rock and roll, free expression, and all forms of individuality. The city scape is a post-apocalyptic wasteland, with shattered buildings, burning cars, and the remnants of crushed rebellions.

“Incite The Watch” was created utilizing a combination of traditional artist drawn and animated characters and designs, with concept driven AI imagery using a new cutting edge application called CineTech. This was done by inputing the script into CineTech which broke it down into individual scene descriptions. Detailed prompts were then input based on the scene descriptions to create background images for each scene which could then be further enhanced to generate the desired appearance. After this was achieved, hand drawn storyboards were uploaded into CineTech which were integrated into the enhanced prompts to achieve the exact imagery needed. Once those images were achieved, CineTech’s ShotSheets feature combined those images into organized PDF files. The files were uploaded into RunwayML to animate and enahce the images and finally input into DaVinci Resolve for final touches, grading, and visual effects. Using CineTech allowed for the creation of a visually compelling product on a shorter timeline without sacrificing quality.

“Billy and I have known each other for so many years and we’ve done many performances together, it was only a matter of time before we put together something original and fascinating. Alternatively, I’ve been a Steve Vai fan since I was 15, and never thought I’d ever get the chance to do something amazing with him. Enter the great Billy Morrison who got both Steve and I on INCITE THE WATCH! I’m so stoked to be a part of this album with so many great artists and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

--Corey Taylor

“Billy Morrison is always getting into some kind of intense and creative musical mischief, and this record is the evidence of that. When he sent me the track “INCITE” I was very eager to contribute to it. It is slamming and crushing, and the energy of the track is palpable. It’s nice to be part of his mischief.”

--Steve Vai

“The combination of Corey Taylor and Steve Vai on a Billy Morrison song is insanely exciting for me! This track started life as a piano riff from Erik Eldenius and once we had Corey’s fantastic vocal on the song, there was only one man we wanted to tackle the three key change extra long solo section—and luckily Steve said yes!”

“Incite really feels like an opus—

a journey. It twists and turns, hits some unexpected changes and sections and resolves into modern rock heaviness and I am extremely proud that the end result appears on The Morrison Project.”
