Rising Artist RYLAI Debuts with Emotionally Charged Single “Without You”

June 6th, 2025 marks the official debut of genre bending Alt-Pop artist, RYLAI, with the release of “Without You.” Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, RYLAI introduces himself to the world with a soul-baring track rooted in self-reflection, transformation, and the healing power of music. At its core, the track expresses both regret and gratitude, reflecting on a time when RYLAI admits he "should have loved [himself] more and taken better care" of his emotional well-being.

Driven by emotion and introspection, RYLAI creates songs with layers to unpack — where nothing is accidental and every sound has a purpose. In a world where so much feels uncertain and fragile, RYLAI’s journey begins with that same sense of instability. From a young age, he turned to music as a sanctuary — a place to disappear, escape, and find comfort when the outside world felt chaotic. “When everything was falling apart around me, music was the only thing that made sense,” he says. “It still is.”

That spirit lives at the heart of “Without You,” a track that captures both gratitude and regret. “I wrote the lyrics with intentional ambiguity, I wanted the lyrics to stand alone and also fit into the larger narrative of my upcoming releases,” RYLAI explains. “They could be for my younger self, a past lover, potential fans — or music itself.”

The production of “Without You” spans continents — with most of the song recorded in Seoul, and key sessions taking place in Los Angeles with co-producer Dylan Buzz Gold. RYLAI’s instrumental contributions include viola, violin, and synthesizer, underscoring his hands-on approach to every part of the song's creation. The track was written entirely by RYLAI and produced in collaboration with Dylan Buzz Gold, Scandi, and Colby Lapolla. Collaborators on the track also include Scandi (who provided the original beat) and Colby Lapolla, who contributed vocal production and textured effects.

RYLAI’s music is more than sound — it’s storytelling. Each release this year will connect to a larger narrative, revealing more with every track. “There’s always something to unpack,” he says. “Art is where we go when the world doesn’t make sense. And right now, we all need a place to escape.”

MORE INFO:
RYLAI
is a rising singer-songwriter and producer born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. His passion for music began in the quiet aftermath of a pivotal moment at the end of sixth grade, when he started exploring melodies on an old digital piano that had sat untouched for years. Though he had taken piano lessons as a child, it wasn’t until then that he truly connected with music — creating original ideas that gradually turned into songs.

Influenced by a wide range of artists, RYLAI draws vocal inspiration from Naul of Brown Eyed Soul, whose emotional head voice and rich chord progressions left a lasting impression. He also cites Ado for her unparalleled vocal intensity and expressiveness, and Seo Tai Ji, a Korean pop-rock icon known for his genre-bending approach to music. Kendrick Lamar remains one of RYLAI’s biggest influences — both for his lyrical depth and for the way each of his albums tells a cohesive, meaningful story. Inspired by that model, RYLAI’s own music follows an overarching narrative, with each release revealing a new chapter.

Nikitaa Unveils Heartfelt Piano Ballad "Snail Mail" Inspired by Personal Story Chronicles the Confusion of Young Love and Identity

October 18th - Singer-songwriter, Nikitaa, has released their deeply emotional new single, "Snail Mail," today. The piano-based ballad explores the complexities of first loves, the confusion of navigating sexuality at a young age, and the personal journey of understanding one's identity. With delicate harmonies that build

toward a powerful crescendo, "Snail Mail" merges tender storytelling with a stirring sonic progression to create a beautiful and emotional musical experience.

"Snail Mail" draws inspiration from Nikitaa’s own pre-teen experience when a girl in 7th grade developed a silent crush on her, remaining quiet due to the social stigma surrounding homosexuality at the time. Through this song, Nikitaa reflects on the confusion of those early feelings and her evolving understanding of her demisexuality, a topic still underrepresented in mainstream music. By expressing these personal challenges, Nikitaa opens a door for listeners who may have faced similar experiences.

Co-written with her friend Lily Lyons, the title "Snail Mail" was inspired by Lily's childhood memory of receiving type-written love letters from a boy. Both Nikitaa and Lily tapped into these formative experiences, drawing parallels between their early crushes and how societal taboos around sexuality shaped those interactions. Their collaboration captures the vulnerability and innocence of young love, creating a relatable and poignant narrative.

"Snail Mail" follows the release of Nikitaa’s EP, Ascension, which debuted in July. Ascension reflects Nikitaa’s personal journey over the past few years, exploring themes of loneliness, loss, and ultimately self-reclamation. The EP is a raw and authentic narrative, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit and the rediscovery of one's own identity and sexuality. Much like Ascension, "Snail Mail" continues the conversation of finding light after darkness and embracing the complexity of life’s emotional and personal challenges.

Indie Pop-Rock Artist, Harley Luck, Releases "Stay"

Emerging indie pop-rock artist, Harley Luck, has re-released his debut single, "Stay," under his new moniker. The re-mastered track was originally penned in Harley's bedroom during April of 2020, and carries the emotional weight of those early days of the pandemic. As the world grappled with isolation and uncertainty, Harley turned to music as a means of expression. This song, one of his earliest works, emerged as a testament to his songwriting and production skills.

"Stay" paints a vivid picture of the struggle to hold on to someone when the world was forcing everyone apart. The onset of the pandemic forced Harley to confront the reality of distancing from friends, connections, and a fleeting crush. Those two weeks of infatuation, coinciding with the pandemic's emergence, served as the song's primary inspiration. Harley describes "Stay" as a song that may seem like a heartfelt love ballad written by a 17-year-old, but it holds profound personal significance as a benchmark of his growth as an artist. He emphasizes his commitment to embracing change and personal evolution through his music, stating, "My songs are a method to verbalize the emotions that are difficult to express so that I can move past them and continue to grow."

Musically, "Stay" incorporates a diverse array of instruments, prominently featuring guitars, drums, and brass instruments. The infectious instrumental arrangement mirrors Harley Luck's taste in indie pop rock music, with influences drawn from Harry Styles's album "Fine Line." While Harley took on the role of sole lyricist for"Stay," he enlisted help for the instrumentation, incorporating loops from Splice while playing most of the guitar parts himself. “Something about this song that only I relate it with is Hawaii.” Harley expands “I had just gone to visit three days before lockdown started, so most of my songwriting had undertones of my experiences there. This song is super bright and energetic, and to this day I still think of Hawaii. I think having such a happy place in my recent memory during the initial period of quarantine helped me cope with everything going on, so Hawaii is always going to be special for me.”

The re-release of "Stay" marks an exciting chapter in Harley Luck's musical journey, as he unveils his work under his new moniker. Harley Luck, a name chosen for its enigmatic and gender-neutral quality, reflects Harley's commitment to embracing his unique identity.

SET TO PERFORM AT TWO LA PRIDE EVENTS

June 23rd: Junior High Los Angeles

June 24th: Paradise Garage

Singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist ROWA, has released her ethereal new single “I’m Wild,” today. "I'm Wild" expresses a surreal interpretation of ROWA's experience as an artist, a pursuit that often feels like a never ending echo chamber in which it's hard to relate with the outside world. ROWA uses a unique play on words to represent the underlying meaning behind this strong and forward focused track. She explores her reality as a genre defying artist in the world of the mundane, and asks the listener to lift the veil and join her on her "wild side." "I'm Wild" is ROWA's attempt at a siren song asking listeners to join her in this new and exciting realm of music she is creating in an ever changing industry. ROWA shows she is the modern day interpretation of the "Wild Woman, " aka someone who would have been burned at the stake in a different generation.

With a hauntingly deep bass line that gives the listener the feeling that there is more to come, the song is dripping in ear candy with lush guitar samples and a stackato pluck echoing perfectly over an 808 bass. Atop the bass and harmonic elements, are sophisticated beat compositions using unique percussive sounds creating a trap-like beat with unlikely yet sophisticated sounds.

MORE INFO:

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, ROWA picked up her life and immediately left after graduating high school. Always marching to the beat of her own drum, she then traveled nomadically for years playing mandolin and guitar in several bands across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. However, ROWA’s voracious appetite to create wasn’t fulfilled, and she eventually settled in New Orleans and later Los Angeles to pursue her music career. While the world stayed dormant during a time of isolation, ROWA sat in her studio in Los Angeles learning to produce music. What has since ensued is a unique blend of sonic and visual work; her genre-defying sound has gained her cult recognition amongst the Los Angeles underground, with multiple event residencies under her belt at reputable venues. ROWA’s interactive performances, eclectic DJ sets and knack for curation are known to pull a crowd on a mere Tuesday night. The audience steps into the ROWAVERSE for an immersive escape from the drags of city living, ROWA unfurls her sonic performances in pop star format accompanied by her magical web of highly skilled dancer friends. ROWA is dedicated to pursuing an independent career in music as a female producer and hopes her efforts will inspire other young women to pursue their own technical skills in music. ROWA has cultivated an environment for Los Angeles creatives and young professionals to link up and network with their local community, and can be expected to host more events in 2023.

INTERNATIONAL R&B SINGER-SONGWRITER, MALAVIKA IS TAKING CONTROL AND EXPRESSING HERSELF WITH THE RELEASE OF “OVERDRIVE”

International R&B singer-songwriter, Malavika, has released her empowering single, “Overdrive,” today. A full-package entertainer, Malavika draws on her globe-spanning influences to craft a mélange of r&b, hip-hop and pop from a unique perspective. "Overdrive" is truly a global

collaboration, created across three continents - Berlin, Dubai, and LA; including an Indian vocal sample sung by Malavika herself. She says "Overdrive” is a song that showcases a different side of my personality. It’s confident, sexual and empowering. It’s about taking control, reversing gender stereotypes and expressing yourself unabashedly. But at the same time it’s a sexy R&B love song that is in an ode to your person.” Malavika’s intoxicating vocals are on full display, as she initiates romance with her lover over a pulsing beat, with natural confidence and sultry playfulness.

Following the organic success of the only other two singles to her name, “Don’t Let Go” and “Sugarcoat,” “Overdrive” was created with all the elements that Malavika is most inspired by. She expands “Vocally I wanted to go in on the song in terms of the harmonies, layers and adlibs. It’s stacked and is reminiscent of early 2000s R&B, one of many eras where the ad libs really mattered. I have this moment in the second verse where I wanted to have a Queen inspired harmony moment.” With West Coast legend DJ Quik, as her mentor, “Overdrive” showcases a combination of Malavika’s confident writing ability, commanding vocals, and musical influences. Alongside songwriting, Malavika has also found herself an advocate for infiltrating her culture into everything she creates. She expands; “The influences in my music are unique to my experience and upbringing, including the exposure to multilingual music. I try to incorporate sonic and visual elements of my culture whenever I can in a way that’s natural and organic, because it’s a part of my identity.”

Born and raised in India, Malavika began to display a profound love for the performing arts from her earliest years, and began performing at just 3 years old. Being exposed to various contrasting worlds and cultures throughout her childhood has had a transformative role in Malavika’s development as an artist. Imprinted with her parents’ love for music, Malavika grew up idolizing Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Tina Turner, alongside Indian masters like A.R. Rahman - not to mention the harder-hitting hip-hop of Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Kanye West and Drake. These influences helped push Malavika to make the move to Los Angeles to pursue her career, where she was discovered by West Coast legend DJ Quik, who is now a mentor and collaborator furthering her development as an artist. DJ Quik and Malavika have since worked on a variety of records, and toured together performing her music at the Novo in LA and venues all across the Bay Area. In 2020, Malavika’s debut single “Sugarcoat” premiered via Flaunt, and was followed by her 2023 release of “Don’t Let Go,” which premiered on BBC Radio. During quarantine Malavika posted a cover “All N My Grill” on social media which warranted a response from the legendary Missy Elliott herself. Her vision is to not only become a global artist, but also to create music and art that go beyond borders to integrate various cultures and their musical identities. Bringing people from all parts of the world together into the same arena is what Malavika strives for.

ONICKS: paying homage to Britney Spears with "Toxic" release

LA-based singer, songwriter, and sinister-pop performance artist, ONICKS (they/them), is paying homage to Britney Spears with their first release of 2023, “Toxic.” An iconic song that’s already very dark and sexy, ONICKS was determined to recreate it with their own vision. ONICKS elaborates; “I studied many iconic hits from the 80’s in order to get my accent as authentic as possible. My producer Jakaval (Jordie Arrieta) created the PERFECT ONICKS meets the 80’s track. We made sure to use some of Britney's signature musical accents throughout, while also recreating this song to be even darker than the original, in true ONICKS fashion.”

“Toxic” came to fruition when Streamy Award Winner Brandon Rogers asked ONICKS to create a cover for his new YouTube series, “Bryce.” In addition, for the first time in his career Brandon will be co-starring in the upcoming music video for “Toxic,” directed by Liam Krug. ONICKS; an artist who has emerged from the well of despair to bring hope to those that are on the same or parallel journeys. Being a strong voice for others to receive inspiration from has always been a shining light throughout any project ONICKS takes on. Merging the worlds of Electropop, Alternative R&B, Trap, and Pop to form their own genre coined: “Sinister-POP” - they are defining a new sound featuring raw and mesmerizing lyrics which appeal to all generations, sexualities, genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. “Blurring the lines between masculine and feminine is my entire DNA. I don’t make music for “he, she, straight, gay, etc”…I make music that any human can sing for themselves” ONICKS states.

Growing up in California and Colorado, ONICKS was influenced by many artists, each playing a transformative role in their development. The femininity of Prince, the hypnotizing writing style of Lana Del Rey, the bluntness of The Weeknd, and the visual chameleon that is Rihanna led ONICKS to where they are now. However, the narrative of their life took a tragic turn as ONICKS succumbed to the temptation of hard drugs at an early age. Rejected by the mainstream music scene at 19 because they were not yet a fully “recognized” artist, and struggling with their sexuality, femininity, and image; they were fuelled by the desire to escape their personal circumstance. Drugs offered a false reality of hope and survival, but it was music that saved their soul. It offered ONICKS the emotional strength to change their life as they were battling with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Now, after experimenting with countless genres, a true realized artist arises from the ashes of their own self-destruction.

SINGER/SONGWRITER FAITH MARIE IS ALLOWING HERSELF TO LET GO OF HER DEMONS WITH THE RELEASE OF “MORE THAN I AM”

Singer-Songwriter Faith Marie, has released her single “More Than I Am,” today. Released in collaboration with the label UUin, “More Than I am” is the perfect chapter to close out her debut EP. Written by Faith, “More Than I Am” is about the process of allowing yourself to let go of your inner demons. She elaborates; “up until now, this EP has been about delving into my darkness, whereas this single expresses how it was a struggle for me to let go of my demons because I was worried it was the only thing that made people connect with me. If I lost that, I wasn’t sure who I’d be. I built a whole world on this darkness and I felt like healing was betraying that, but the truth is, I’m so much more than my

darkness as well as my healing. Sometimes we get tunnel vision and forget that no matter what you believe, we are truly a part of this infinite universe and we’re not tied to any sort of emotion or anything for that matter. Remembering that from time to time can really put things into perspective and help to have deep self-compassion.”

The sound of “More Than I Am” was executed to encapsulate the meaning of this song and the existentialism of it. A lot of elements are felt, not heard, and Faith wrote these lyrics with a vision for people to listen and immerse themselves into a full experience. “More Than I Am” intertwines darkness with the bass and synths, alongside brighter elements such as the lead harp. This juxtaposition is meant to convey the feeling of acceptance of pain and confusion, while also giving a glimpse of hope while the song is evolving in that direction. Faith states; The bridge is one of my favorite parts of a song I’ve ever written, because it’s everything I’ve wanted to say to my listeners who experience deep pain and trauma. The music with the choir helps bring a very ethereal element to it that is meant to grab those people's attention and hopefully help them to absorb the message. I really hope that my listeners take this song to heart and listen to it as if I’m saying it to them, because I had every person that’s reached out to me with their similar experiences in mind when I wrote this. You’re more than your pain, you’re more than your experiences and you have so much to offer the world.”

Hailing from Provo, Utah, Faith’s foray into songwriting began at the age of 13, launching a successful YouTube channel that attracted over 121,000 subscribers over the next five years, in addition to over 80 million Spotify and Youtube streams combined. Inspired by the likes of My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Brockhampton, Faith pushes herself creatively when it comes to genre-bending. In 2015, her love for artists that seamlessly cross genres led her to posting a cover of Bring Me The Horizon's “Drown,” which immediately went viral and is currently sitting at 5M views. “Bring Me The Horizon has always been the most inspiring to me because they don’t care about upholding a genre or appeasing specific types of fans that listen to them, they do what inspires them” Faith states.

The virality of this cover catapulted her into the release of her debut single “Antidote,” which Faith wrote and self-produced. Now, 7 years later, Faith has released multiple singles ranging from the orchestrally adorned “Little Girl” and the electronic-laced “Devil on My Shoulder,” each dealing with themes of struggle, anxiety and hope. Faith is constantly working to perfect her craft of songwriting with each release, and is also currently pursuing a bachelors in audio engineering. She elaborates “I’m on a lifelong mission to master as much of the music creation process as possible.”

Producer and UUin, Inc. label head Amyn Bhai, who has worked with Faith since she was 13 explains, "Faith first wrote the lyrics to the entire song, as she always does, and had some initial production ideas. We then took the songs and built the production out with our friends at Slowave Studios, where she also recorded the vocals. It was later polished and mixed with Steve Phillips, our engineer. On her new EP, people can expect more honesty in song form. The production direction is tailor-made for her, and the writing is 100% how she is feeling in the moment translated into song form. Faith has significantly grown as is natural with time passing."
