2 Shadows Unleash Blistering New Track "Mad God"

Vancouver based metal band 2 Shadows are heading into the New Year in high gear with their blistering new track "Mad God'' on Rock Shop Records.  The song starts with a brief acoustic interlude before bludgeoning the listener with crushing down-tuned guitars and staccato snare sounds, underpinned by  thunderous bass drums and piercingly intense vocals.  The song laments how people blindly follow the rules to get ahead in life – often without ever really knowing why they are doing it.

2 Shadows Glen Bridden says “When Tryst and I wrote the song Mad God we were inspired by the Phil Tippett film with the same name. We were blown away by the apocalyptic dystopian setting and the delivery of the horror elements in the movie and it got us excited to try exploring those vibes musically. Our song “Mad God” ended up being the easiest and most fluid song to write and we didn't make many changes after the first demo.

He continues “When it came to the lyrics of the song I focused on the dissonance visible in everyday urban life, like how lonely you can feel in a densely populated area and how common it is for people to numb themselves with prescription drugs and the like.  It would seem people feel more comfortable ‘under an influence’ and that’s where the lyric “overdosed on sanity” comes from and where the dystopian horror begins to show itself and come full circle”.

2 Shadows are veteran road warriors and are planning a tour for later this year.   The band plans to release more new music in 2024.

2 Shadows is a four piece Metal band based out of Vancouver, Canada, consisting of members Glen Bridden (Lead Vocals), Tryst Germaine(Guitars), James Holder (Guitars) and Mitch Harsch (Drums). The band was founded in 2015 and for the last five 5 years have meticulously and methodically honing in their craft, leaving no stone unturned. In 2018, after playing locally and regionally for three years, 2 Shadows ventured out on a Nation Tour across Canada and began garnering attention from Metal fans and industry professionals alike. In 2019 the band began working on their new EP, entering into the studio with Singer/Songwriter/Producer/The Veer Union frontman, Crispin Earl, to streamline the bands sound and bring it to that of an international level. After the completion of the EP, the band was ecstatic to announce they inked a deal with Rock Shop Records and on Friday, November 13th 2020, 2 Shadows Released their first single, “Scratching At The Surface” feat. The Veer Union was instantly added to the Spotify Editorial Playlists, “New Metal Tracks” and “New Core”, receiving over 240,000 streams in it’s first it’s first two months on Spotify alone and the Official Video received over 500,000 views on YouTube.

On January 15th, 2021 followed up the track with an Acoustic Version and was again instantly added to the Spotify Editorial Playlist, “New Core”. Within two weeks “Scratching At The Surface” feat. The Veer Union (Acoustic) received over 100,000 streams and to date is one of the very few bands on the Spotify Editorial Playlist “New Core” to have both an Acoustic version and “Plugged In” version of the same track, simultaneously on the “New Core” Editorial Playlist.

On February 5th, 2021, 2 Shadows released their NEW SINGLE “Screamworks” via Rock Shop Records and was yet again instantly added to the Spotify Editorial Playlist, “New Core”. 2 Shadows is currently one of the only bands to have 3 song simultaneously on “New Core” Editorial Playlist. On February 6th, 2021, the band Released the “Screamworks” Official Video and within 2 days had over 30,000 views on Youtube alone. 2 Shadows will be releasing a New EP in its entirety via Rock Shop Records in the summer of 2021 and will be out on the road, it it’s support, both Nationally and Internationally as a part of the Rock Shop Records International Tour slated for summer of 2021.

The band's last album (2018) Decade II (produced by the bands lead vocalist, Crispin Earl) contained 4 "Billboard Chart Top 40" singles and has been streamed over 18 million times on Spotify alone. The most notable track off the album, "Living Not Alive," reached #21 on the "Billboard Top 40 Rock Charts" in the United States, accumulating over 10 million streams, received over 1.8 million Views on YouTube and the album itself has sold over 10,000 units.
