Alt-Pop Standout Reece Young Refuses To Take The Blame On "I Wouldn't"!

Following the breakout momentum of "Nothing At All" and the visceral honesty of "Lights Out", the alt-pop upstart, Reece Young, returns with "I Wouldn't" out now via Oxide Music. Where his previous releases mapped the aftermath of panic and the weight of darkness, "I Wouldn't" focuses on the middle ground between fault and failure. Fans can listen to "I Wouldn't" BELOW.

With a gift of hiding the heaviest moments inside the brightest songs, Reece Young has carried that instinct from metalcore stages into alt-pop radio without losing a thing. Underneath the anthemic pull of "I Wouldn't" is the exhaustion of struggling privately while someone close to you mistakes that struggle for a shortcoming. The cruelest part being that you never claimed to be anyone different.

Somewhere between a confession and a chorus, Reece Young shares:

"I Wouldn’t is the culmination of a feeling you can’t describe. At my lowest moments, everyone around me was frustrated they couldn’t help. I never said I wouldn’t try to get better, I just didn’t know how. That very resentment towards yourself you start to feel bubbling up, it explodes in this chorus and breakdown within a wall of sound."

In this new lane, Reece Young draws from the emotional energy of VOILA and the anthemic instincts of Twenty One Pilots, carving out a sound that makes alt-pop feel urgent again. As an artist finding his footing in a new sound, he's taking it straight to the stage where every performance leaves the room wondering how they had not heard of him sooner. London is first in line, with a debut headline show on August 29th at YungBlud's B.R.A.T. Cave to kick off a festival weekend that sees Reece supporting Twenty One Pilots at All Points East on August 30th.

With "Nothing At All" and "Lights Out" marking his first two releases on Oxide Music and a run of live dates on the horizon, Reece Young is laying the groundwork for a new era built on sharp songwriting, restless energy, and a willingness to sit in the discomfort instead of looking away.
