Finnish Heavy Metal Group, Green King, Release New Single "Where Speedian Dwells"

Debut Album 'Hidden Beyond Time'

Today, Finland’s Green King launch the single, "Where Speedian Dwells". The single tells the true story of Green King kicking violent nationalists out of their rehearsal space. A true heavy metal attack, "Where Speedian Dwells” offers thrilling guitar harmonies, chugging riffs, and gutsy vocals communicating a strong anti-nationalist message.

The single is the second one leading up to Green King’s debut album, 'Hidden Beyond Time', which will be released on The Sign Records on the 16th of December.

'Hidden Beyond Time' is the debut album by Finnish heavy metal group Green King.

Inspired by many subgenres of heavy music, 'Hidden Beyond Time' moves from hard hitting cuts fueled by chugging, galloping riffs that brings to mind the great metal era of the 70/80s. Relentless, stoner metal infused adrenaline shots move to more mellow, experimental tracks featuring folk inspired melodies.

With traditional heavy metal at its heart and core, 'Hidden Beyond Time' sits on a foundation made of melodic dual guitar arrangements, gritty vocals and occult, mystical lyrics. This is a 34-minute-long heavy metal experience that showcases the dynamic nature of this Finnish four piece.

The album was recorded at Beach House rehearsal studio and at Dullas sauna cabin during the year 2020. Mixed by Sakke Vänttinen at Rock Alley Studio. 'Hidden Beyond Time' will be released on The Sign Records December 16th.

The album will be released on vinyl, CD, and all streaming platforms. 

Biography:

Formed in Helsinki, Finland, as a side project to play heavy stoner music, Green Kingquickly developed their style into a more traditional style of heavy metal.

Drawing influences from vast history of heavy metal, Green King fills their songs with monumental riffs and colossal guitar harmonies. They have made their mark on Finnish metal underground by playing fierce live shows filled with musical mojo and speedy guitar solos.

Their first EP 'Rock Alley Tapes' was released in early 2022, and it brought the band attention around Europe.

Green King's members have long been part of the Finnish music scene, playing in bands such as Black Lizard, Rokets, United Seafood and Rusty Triggers.

Chase Rice Takes Fans to the Wild West With "Way Down Yonder," Out Now

As teased earlier this week by multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Chase Rice, his outlaw anthem “Way Down Yonder” is available everywhere now along with an accompanying Wild West-style music video. Today’s release showcases a rugged new sound previewing Rice’s next musical era, which will be on full display via a forthcoming album. “When we wrote this song, I had the mountains of North Carolina where I grew up in mind; all the moonshining history there in the Appalachians,” recalls Rice. “Then all of a sudden during the recording process, Rob McNelley started playing this crazy carnival sound on the acoustic… and it got Western quick. That turned it from a song I didn’t think was even going to make the cut for this next album into one of my favorite songs on the project.”

Rice will celebrate the release with an appearance on SiriusXM The Highway’s “Music Row Happy Hour” this afternoon before heading to Bridgestone Arena to kick off the night’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy tour stop. Fans can also stop by the Bridgestone Plaza all day for a special “Way Down Yonder” time period photo experience – with the chance that Rice himself will make an appearance at the activation during their photoshoot.

The photo experience embodies the Western influence of the song’s official music video, which was shot in a single take as a time period piece at Fort Worth’s Stockyards National Historic District as showcased exclusively by Entertainment Tonight HERE.

Written by Rice together with Hunter Phelps, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass and Corey Crowder during a writing retreat in Florida that also produced recent release “Key West & Colorado,” “Way Down Yonder” is the latest preview of his forthcoming album, painting a vivid picture of hardworking characters living beyond the confines of the law:

The song was recorded along with the rest of the forthcoming project during a two-week period at Rice’s farm outside Nashville, with producer Oscar Charles and a live band using makeshift recording environment to capture a pure, raw style unlike any of his previous studio projects.

The shift in setting suited the set of more vulnerable, personal music from the man Billboard celebrates as “having storytelling details tumble from his lips, his portraits created quickly and efficiently,” with CMT noting, “The vocalist worked day in and day out to find the courage to knock down the wall he had kept up his entire career. Once he demolished the barricade holding him back, he left his heart and soul on the writing table.”

Seattle-based psychedelic rock outfit Black Nite Crash present their new album 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash', released via American boutique label Neon Sigh, which was mixed by longtime collaborator Matt Brown (Trespassers William) and mastered by Adam Straney.

Black Nite Crash is Jim Biggs (vocals, guitar), John Parker (bass), James Stone(guitar), Tony Zuniga (drums) and Claire Tucker (guitar/vocals). Formed twenty years ago, Black Nite Crash has involved more than 30 members over the years, surrounding Jim Biggs, the last remaining original member. Yet somehow, the band has maintained a coherent sound and vision.

Presenting the most diverse set of songs the band has ever released, this album combines their trademark fuzzed out guitars with some newer flavours, like the pulsating noir of first single 'The Take', the post-baggy groove of 'Stupid Games' or the surging post-punk energy of 'Sugarwave'.

Work on the 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash' LP began before the pandemic, the songs a reflection of a band finding its feet again, with (then) relatively new members Claire Tucker and Sharim Johnson putting their imprint on this batch of songs. Then lockdowns began before tracking could be completed.

"This is the band's fifth full length in nearly twenty years of existence, and it looks to be the start of a period of more frequent releases as we work through our backlog of unreleased recorded songs, not to mention the surplus of new material we're working on even now," says Jim Biggs.

"As to the music, I've long been a proponent of the idea that all rock music should only be about god, girls and drugs (or god, boys, and drinking, or any combination of those themes, really), but it's hard to look at the state of the nation and the state of the world and not say a thing or two about it, specifically on 'NY Animal' and 'Stupid Games'. In the past, I've often kept my writing close to autobiographical ('Failure' is very much reflective of my own navel-gazing), but Claire Tucker (guitarist/singer) has influenced me to branch out into more storyteller-type songs with first single 'The Take' a prime example of that."

On October 14, the 'Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash' LP will be available everywhere online, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. They will hold their album release show at The Six in Portland on November 5 and also play the Sunset Tavern on December 16/17 for Seattle's Tremolo Festival.

Walker Hayes Teams Up With Pop Superstar Ciara on "Y'all Life," Out Now

Duo to Perform the Track for the First Time Tonight on
CMT’s Artist of the Year Celebration

Monument Records' singer/songwriter and country music sensation Walker Hayes enlists GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter and superstar Ciara for a special version of his current single “Y’all Life.” The irresistible track adds a new layer of excitement as Ciara chimes in with a verse of her own. “Y’all Life” is a quintessential song about the easy-going, loosened-up way of life in the south. Originally released in August, the track was Hayes’ highest streaming debut to date – no small feat for an artist that has accumulated over a billon career streams and had the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for over six months last year.

After kicking off his headlining arena tour this fall, Hayes began playing “Y’all Life” to sold-out crowds across the country. The GRAMMY-Award winning singer/songwriter, originally from Texas, knows the importance of Football and Jesus in the south. On the track she sings “it ain’t nothin better than them Sunday night lights every night,” while adding her impeccable vocals to the chorus that sings “livin’ that y’all life, y’all’ rollin’ in the south where it’s all football and Jesus.”

“I’m a southern girl and have always felt a connection to country music,” says Ciara. “When I met Walker I immediately knew I wanted to work with him. Beyond his incredible song writing, he has an amazing stage presence.”

Tonight, Hayes is being honored by CMT as a “CMT Artist of the Year” alongside Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson and Carly Pearce. The iconic network celebrates five artists who have collectively dominated the past 12 months in country music with an awards show that will premiere on CMT at 9PM ET/8PM CT. Originally released in 1999, Live in the Galaxy was recorded during Union’s first tour in support of its self-titled debut album. Union featured the pairing of guitarist Bruce Kulick and singer/guitarist John Corabi. Kulick had spent 12 years as the lead guitarist in KISS during their non-make up era and was featured on several multi-platinum albums, including the powerhouse band Revenge. Corabi fronted the Scream, and more recently, Mötley Crüe on their now cult following, eponymous 1994 release. They teamed up with drummer Brent Fitz (Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil, Theory of a Deadman) and bassist Jamie Hunting (Roger Daltrey, David Lee Roth, Vince Neil) to record two studio albums before disbanding.

On the heels of selling out Union and The Blue Room in 24 hours, Deko and Blackbird Entertainment are at it again. Live in the Galaxy will be available for the first time as a 180 gram vinyl double album that comes with a bonus 7” vinyl. The double album totals 15 songs, with renditions of “I Walk Alone” from Kulick’s time with KISS and “Power to the Music” from Corabi’s time with Mötley Crüe. It comes in 3 color variations: Black/Milky White (limited to 500 copies pressed), Purple/Yellow (limited to 250 copies pressed), and Silver/Violet (limited to 250 copies pressed). The bonus 7” vinyl includes the additional live tracks “Let It Flow” and “Empty Soul.” The album is set to go on pre-sale October 13 at noon (EST). Product is expected to ship early February. The Grand Ole Opry has announced its second annual Opry NextStage Live In Concert, presented by Geico, that showcases some of country music’s top rising stars who have been a part of the NextStage artist discovery program. The Opry has also announced the latest and final member of the NextStage Class of 2022, viral country star, Nate Smith.

Smith will take the stage alongside other 2022 NextStage artists BRELAND, Restless Road, Elvie Shane and Conner Smith with special performances by NextStage alumnae Hailey Whitters and Priscilla Block, who will host the event. NextStage Live In Concert takes place on Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Grand Ole Opry House. Tickets are available for sale at Opry.com on Friday, Oct. 14.

Featuring a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n’ roll swagger and velvet-thunder vocals, Nate Smith is Sony Music Nashville’s latest signing whose personal journey inspired him to be a beacon of country-music hope, an inspirational mission he puts front-and-center. Following the end of Wildernessking’s career, Keenan Oakes had to continue making music, despite the difficulties of playing in a metal band in Cape Town, South Africa. Regardless, Oakes joined forces with Crow Black Sky’s Gideon Lamprecht in 2018 to create the musical entity known as CONSTELLATIA. Taken from the word ‘constellation’, CONSTELLATIA refers to the nature of existence and the natural world, the cosmos, and extracting meaning and happiness from it all. The band’s somber take on progressive black metal encapsulates inherently human subjects; a distillation of life’s meander, sadness and tribulations.

Inspired by artists such as Opeth, Mastodon, The Cure, Primordial, Neurosis, Wolves in the Throne Room, Pink Floyd, Beach House, Agalloch, Emperor and Cult of Luna, Constellatia imbue their stark musical landscape with ferocity and reverie. TALLAH Drop New Track & Music Video "For The Recognition"; New Album Out November 18th Via Earache Records

Nu-Core quintet Tallah have released the latest chapter of their ongoing world-building saga that will become their sophomore album, The Generation Of Danger (out November 18th via Earache Records). The brand new single is titled "For The Recognition" and lands with a suitably frenetic accompanying music video. Speaking on the release of their latest track, Tallah frontman, Justin Bonitz, adds 

“For The Recognition is a song about justifying why you are doing what you are doing. Blind ambition can only get you so far. If you have a dream, and you want to follow it to the end, you have to push yourself, be confident, and not allow anything or anyone to stand in your way. This is your vision, your story, and you have to do whatever it takes to bring all that hidden power to the surface and use it as fuel to show everyone how amazing you really are. Be honest and be the best”

Tallah founder and drummer, Max Portnoy adds 

“When I wrote this song, I made sure the ending pit hit really hard but was simple enough for us to trash our set up live. We took that mindset into the studio as well and smashed tons of lamps, microwaves, vases, etc and put those recordings in the song.”

Tallah's sophomore album, The Generation Of Danger, will be released on November 18th via Earache Records and much like their debut album, Matriphagy, will revolve around around an elaborate and horrific story dreamt up by the band, that continues to unfold in the build up to release. The Generation Of Danger is a concept album about a genius scientist who gets fed up with being swept under the run. After the multi-billion-dollar corporation that employs him takes credit for his latest, award-winning invention, he snaps and retaliates against them by forcing them to take part in the greatest experiment the world of science has ever seen.

The album offers fans more than just an album of pioneering nu-core metal. ABOUT TALLAH

Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2018 and combining the percussive force of second-generation drummer Max Portnoy with the pure, war-torn fury of vocalist and YouTube sensation Justin Bonitz, nu-core gang Tallah are on a mission to revamp and modernize the much-loved sound of popular nu-metal sensations of the early 2000s.

Dave Gahan & Soulsavers kick off season 11 on Oct. 15 with covers from their very personal 2021 album, Imposter, including Eartha Kitt’s “Lilac Wine,” Neil Young’s “A Man Needs a Maid,” Nat King Cole’s “Smile,” Bob Dylan’s “Not Dark Yet,” Cat Power’s “Metal Heart,” and Elmore James’ “I Held My Baby Last Night,” plus “Personal Jesus” from Dave’s original band.

Lebanese-British pop star Mika’s sold-out performance at The Paris Philharmonic with the National Orchestra of Ile-de-France features his debut breakout hit “Grace Kelly,” “Origin of Love,” “Toy Boy,” and more from the classically trained showman whose glittery style and emotive falsetto have earned him comparisons to Freddie Mercury.

Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, together for 20 years but touring for the first time, perform at the Brooklyn Bowl with a set list that covers the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist’s career, introducing songs with his current band, including “Wicked Mind” and “Wreckless Abandon” plus “Refugee,” “You Got Lucky” and “Runnin’ Down a Dream” from his days with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Gavin DeGraw brings a fusion of pop, soul, country, folk and funk to Analog at Hutton Hotel in Nashville performing songs from his latest, Face the River, along with hits “Follow Through,” “Chariot,” “I Don’t Want to Be” and “Not Over You.”

As Judah & the Lion, Judah Akers and Brian Macdonald bring their Alternative Folk sound back to their Nashville roots at Analog at Hutton Hotel performing “Suit and Jacket,” “Take it All Back,” and more including covers of Blink-182’s “All the Small Things” and Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”

The Americana band Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors give an intimate performance at Analog at Hutton Hotel in Nashville of “What Would I Do Without You,” “Dragons,” “American Beauty” and more.

Country Blues legend Hank Williams Jr. is joined by special guest/producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys for a concert of songs from his latest release, Rich White Honky Blues including “.44 Special Blues” and classics by Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, R.L. Burnside and more.

Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Kat Keo and drummer Kim Coffel, HOAXED's superlative blend of styles—heavy melodic rock with captivating hooks, gothic undertones, undeniable metal, and tinges of americana - pave the way for a singular expression that’s entirely their own.

'Two Shadows' is as unique as it is memorable and catchy. The record thrusts, retreats, and beguiles across its melody-powered and hook-driven expanse, with earworms “The Call,” “Guilty Ones", and “The Knowing” serving as the album’s crucial lighthouses.

Formed in Portland, Oregon, in 2020, HOAXED's initial songwriting plan casts a wide net. The breach opened up considerably as Coffel and Keo explored the outer edges of their musical influences and artistic aspirations.

After fruitful songwriting sessions, the twosome self-released their eponymous four- song EP in February 2021. Signaled by the whirring, diaphanous spell of video single "Candle Master", HOAXED caught the attention of Relapse Records, who signed the outfit in 2021.

Fencer Release "Sanitarium" Single & Music Video Out Now Via Blood Blast Distribution

The Los Angeles based rock trio, Fencer, have dropped their newest single and video for "Sanitarium." This marks the band's first release with Blood Blast Distribution, and their first piece of new music in 2022. You can stream "Sanitarium" here and watch the new music video below.

Speaking on today's release, vocalist Field Cate shares:

"Sanitarium” was written during the height of the pandemic. It was a time when everything felt so unsafe and I was dealing with significant depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Ultimately indulging myself in a lot of codependency with a significant other, knowing this was a dangerous solution. But it felt really good. I was looking for somewhere to feel like I belonged and that fulfilled that for me. That feeling of safety inspired this song, a positive perspective on a negative decision. It felt like I entered a sanitarium, which is the origin of the name."

Not only was "Sanitarium" self-produced, but it was mixed by Henry Lunetta (5 Seconds Of Summer, State Champs, Grayscale) and mastered by Zach Fisher (Weezer, Rancid, Bad Religion). HAMMERHEDD Premiere "Tunnel" Music Video via Metal Injection - Tour Dates with IN FLAMES This Month!

Fraternal thrash metal trio HAMMERHEDD are back with their first new track since the release of their 2021 debut album, 'Grand Currents'. The Kansas City-based band is partnering with their friends at Metal Injection to premiere the music video for "Tunnel", which can be seen below.

Speaking with Injection about the influence on their latest single, the Ismert brothers share: “We wrote this song about a year ago while listening to The Police nonstop. There’s Stewart Copeland-influenced drums, a few Andy Summers-type chord shapes, and a Sting-style bass riff in the midsection. Aside from that, we (as usual) took heavy influence from Tool, Meshuggah, Mastodon, etc. - the gods of the newer generation of metal, as well as the classics; Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc. We like to think we put these influences together in a way that sounds new, fresh, and uniquely HAMMERHEDD."

In 2022, POWERWOLF continue to build upon their status as the most successful German metal band in current music.
