BRKN LOVE Announce New Album 'Black Box' & Share Video for "Under the Knife"

OUT NOW ON US TOUR WITH DEAD POET SOCIETY

CANADIAN TOUR WITH THE BLUE STONES STARTS NOVEMBER 4TH

Toronto-based alt-rock band BRKN LOVE are pleased to announce their new album 'Black Box' in the midst of their busy US/CAN touring schedule. It will be released on Nov. 4th and is available for preorder HERE

After the success of their 'Vol.1' and 'Vol.2' EPs, the trend continues with the band’s sophomore album, which once again showcases how well songwriter/front man Justin Benlolo uses all the tools in his arsenal to firmly position BRKN LOVE in the young, modern rock revolution.

Justin says, “We couldn’t be more excited to announce the release of our new LP 'Black Box'. This album is the next evolution of BRKN LOVE. Imagine everything you loved about our band and then turn it up to 11. It’s truly a milestone record for us. After the release of our first record and all the complications that came along with it (namely the pandemic), we really wanted to a chance to redeem ourselves. This is our redemption record. We’re back at full force and we’re not pulling any punches this time.

Making this album was a challenge unto itself. We had come off the back end of several tours and essentially had two weeks to write, record and mix the album. They say diamonds are formed under pressure, and I believe that the added weight forced us to come up with the best songs we have ever written.

The overall theme revolving around 'Black Boxis the concept of learning from your mistakes and bettering yourself because of them. When we were writing the record, our producer Anton Delost and I had become obsessed with flight recorders, that are put into airplanes to keep track of anything that happens. The idea came from how the people will assess a plane crash by what the black box has recorded. It’s a metaphor for our band, our lives and everything we have been through up until this point.

We truly hope you enjoy this piece of music as much we do. Make sure you turn it up and as always, rock on. Thank you.”

Pre-Order 'Black Box' HERE

The four singles that have been released so far from the album have garnered praise from fans, media and radio personalities alike. “Under The Knife” is the most recent, with previous singles “Forever’s Enough”, “Like A Drug” and “Dead Weight” being heralded by BBC Radio One’s Indie Show presenter Jack Saunders as “The new age of rock and roll.”

Meanwhile, BRKN LOVE are currently playing a number of shows across North America in support of Dead Poet Society and The Blue Stones, while also playing some of their first U.S. headline dates along the way.

FORMER TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA SINGER JOE CERISANO AND GRAMMY NOMINATED HIT SONGWRITER MARC BLATTE TEAM UP FOR THE DISTANT THUNDER

FORMER TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA SINGER JOE CERISANO AND GRAMMY NOMINATED HIT SONGWRITER MARC BLATTE TEAM UP FOR THE DISTANT THUNDER. THE DUO WILL PREMIER SONGS AT THE CUTTING ROOM IN NYC OCTOBER 12 AND RELEASE FIRST SINGLE, THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT, ON OCTOBER 14.

The most famous anonymous singer in America Joe Cerisano (TSO, Silver Condor) and hit songwriter Marc Blatte (the Four Tops, Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers, Bruce Springsteen) have teamed up for The Distant Thunder. This duo not only shared responsibility for “Hands Across America” but also were critical to the success of the most iconic commercials (GE, Army, Navy, Sprite, Miller) you have ever heard. Now they have come together and created an amazing slice of Americana with standout tracks like “Healing Hand” and “I’d Rather Be Dancing.”

Cerisano started his career on Columbia Records with Silver Condor alongside guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon). He went on to do duets with Gloria Estefan and Placido Domingo as well as guest vocalist with Blue Öyster Cult and Korn; and fronted Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Blatte has penned the Grammy nominated Top 40 song “When She Was My Girl” by the Four Tops as well as songs by Celine Dion and Kenny Rogers. The song “When She Was My Girl” will also be making an appearance on the brand-new Bruce Springsteen covers album Only the Strong Survive due out in November.

The Distant Thunder album is out November 18 and the first single “Healing Hand” hits on October 14. Singer Joe Cerisano had this to say about what’s coming, "I'm super excited for the release of The Distant Thunder album. Hopefully our first single, "Healing Hand," says something that resonates with our listeners as something we can believe in. Maybe a little of it can seep through the cracks to our humanity and sanity." Songwriter Marc Blatte continues, “‘Healing Hand’ is a call for understanding and compassion in these turbulent times that we are living in.”

The Distant Thunder strips it all down for a real rootsy American album filled with emotion and heart wrenching lyrics. Deko Entertainment President, Bruce Pucciarello, comments, “In The Distant Thunder, Joe and Mark share the special bond they have when they’re making music together. Forged in Americana, it tells the story of our lives, shares our secrets, and honors our strength of good will. Feel good.” In support of the record, the duo will make their first live appearance at The Cutting Room in NYC on October 12 where they will be sitting in with Blind Lemon Peel’s band to perform a few songs.

THRESHOLD - Unleash Lyric Video For Third Single "Complex"

NEW ALBUM DIVIDING LINES OUT ON NOVEMBER 18TH!

Formed in leafy Surrey in the late ‘80s, THRESHOLD truly blossomed in the following decade, swiftly establishing themselves as the UK’s leading progressive metal standard bearers.

From 1993’s Wounded Land debut onwards, the enduring creative core of guitarist Karl Groom and keyboard maestro Richard West constructed a unique new strain of heavy, progressive music, combining incisive melodies, thought-provoking lyrics, and intricate but thunderous arrangements.

The band recently announced their highly anticipated 12th studio album Dividing Lineswhich will be released on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Records.

And today, we get yet another taste of the record with a lyric video for its energetic third single "Complex".

Guitarist Karl Groom comments:
"Complex was the 2nd song written for Dividing Lines and I love the energy that Johanne injected into the song, particularly on the pre-choruses. The idea for the solo came about by accident when I left a parallel pitch shift on the lead sound whilst making the demo. We can’t wait to release the album and have the chance to tour again."

Check out the visualizer below.

    • Crystal Clear Orange Black Splatter

    • Orange Black Marbled

    • Transparent Red Black Splatter

Founded by guitarist Karl Groom in southern England in 1988, THRESHOLD were a unique proposition from the start. Driven forward by youthful confidence and verve, they swiftly became the UK’s premier purveyors of adventurous and progressive metal and have remained at the top of that tree for the best part of three decades. From early albums like Wounded Land (1993) and Psychedelicatessen (1994) to more recent triumphs like 2014’s acclaimed For The Journey and Legend of the Shires (2017), the band’s reputation has been built upon the sheer strength of their songwriting, collective chemistry and fervent disregard for following passing trends. As a result, THRESHOLD are as revered and respected as they have ever been.

SATOR Release New Music Video for "Brown Eyed Son"

SATOR have released a new music video for "Brown Eyed Son" taken from the band’s album 'Return of the Barbie-Q-Killers', released earlier this year.

The video for "Brown Eyed Son" was recorded at SATOR's gig at Partille Arena on September 16 earlier this year. The idea of the video was to show off a legendary band in its proper element - on stage - in the simplest way. An element that SATOR still, to this day, 25+ years into their career, manages in a way few other bands can match.

During the video's 2 minutes and 10 seconds, the viewer gets an intense insight into what SATOR is, remains and will always stand for - Rock ‘n’ Roll with a slice of punk and everlasting coolness.

Enjoy!

"Brown Eyed Son" is produced and designed by Patrik Skoglöw Photography

SATOR’s Chips Kiesbye comments:

"What a great tour it was! We will take a short break now, but we will be back in 2023 for more shows.

While you wait you can see some footage from the tour in the new video for "Brown Eyed Son" from our new album 'Return of The Barbie-Q-Killers'.

See you soon, Sator"

New Album

“Digital Noise Alliance”

Out Now!

Upon the release of their new studio album, 'Digital Noise Alliance', QUEENSRŸCHEhave released a video clip for the song “Hold On

The band comments: “‘Hold On’ primarily focuses on the misfortune of social media and how this new societal landscape has become a false barometer of ones’ value, essentially, influencing and affecting peoples’ self-worth. Reminding people to not believe everything they see, and to not buy into the glorification of fame, money, and popularity. It strives to empower those that have been blinded by the distorted reality of the glorified social media lifestyles. It is a song reminiscent of older, simpler times.”

In less than a week the band will embark on another US tour with Judas Priest.

Sound Pollution Update! New Music Out Now from Mask of Prospero

Mask of Prospero

Release New Single

“Lament”

Watch the Video Below

New Album Coming January 2023!

The Greek progressive metalcore band Mask of Prospero was built based on love for the human and the earthly element of life, for the feelings that spring from music, but also for the music that springs from this feeling.

The character of a band, after all, is not formed only by the externalization of ideas, but mostly through an internal struggle to construct a unique identity.

"Lament" is a dialogue of the soul, penetrating deep emotions above and beyond what man has been able to hear.

It depicts a form of awareness, emanating from realistic experiences teeming with cynicism and melancholy, based on an axiom:

"That every person who happens to be a part of your daily routine, even for a while, lives a life as vivid and complex as yours· people who have been in our lives for a while and have treated us badly or made us realize things, and then disappear, leaving behind ashes of experiences, but also traces that may never be erased."

The song is taken from Mask of Prospero's up-coming album that will be released in January 2023.

New Album 'Endless Optimism'

Will be Released November 4

Hellsingland Underground releases a second single from the upcoming album 'Endless Optimism' which will be released on November 4. The album is the band's sixth since its inception in 2006.

The song is called "Hustlin' Around" and comes with a video with 100% documentary material that was mostly filmed on the band's Sweden tour this past summer.

The track title "Hustlin' Around" comes from the reply that the singer Charlie Granbergusually gives to people who ask what, exactly, he's doing for a living:

"I am a multi-tasking artist and musician. And some people seem to have a problem accepting that as a "real" job. At least here in the northern countryside, where I live. So, I usually just reply that I’m hustling around. Half-jokingly, half seriously. But if I'm going to be crass, that's exactly what I'm doing! I have never had a regular job with fixed working hours. I function very poorly under such conditions. And life is too short to spend on things you can’t stand."

NEW ALBUM 'BLACK BLOOD' OUT OCTOBER 21!

Black metallers Abduction have released the video for the snarling new single "A Psylacybic Death", featuring Revenant Marquis.

"A Psylacybic Death" is the second visceral single to be released from Abduction's new album, 'Black Blood', which is set for release on October 21 via Candlelight Records.

Pre-order the album HERE

Abduction state, "'A Psylacybic Death" speaks, obtusely, of wisdom lost through time. The song entails a drug-induced death ritual inspired by the Eleusinian Mysteries whereby the subject hallucinates and is visited by creatures of the cosmic realm, before dissolving from tangible terra firma into the ether. The illusive RM of Revenant Marquis performed a particularly heinous ritual across this track, at my request. I am very pleased to have collaborated with him. 'I wish no ill, but all to death."

Formed in 2016 as a shadowy, single-man entity, Abduction have made astonishingly fast progress, carving a fearsome reputation for themselves as a standout act in an increasingly crowded extreme metal scene.

Performing alone in the early years — a rare sight, despite the many one-man bands in the genre – Abduction's central protagonist A|V then expanded the band into a full live outfit, to better create intense, ritualistic and immersive performances, both at underground shows and larger festivals.

The forthcoming release of 'Black Blood' sees Abduction's most ambitious and rewarding album to date. Recorded — like its predecessor, 2019's 'All Pain as Penance' by Ian Boult at Stuck on a Name Studios in Nottingham, this nightmarish yet entrancing listen pushes Abduction into new territories without straying from their core sound.

From the hypnotically earnest and haunting opener "In Exaltation of the Supreme Being", to the expansive 11-minute epic "Plutonian Gate", with its marked progressive and psychedelic overtones, to the blend of uncompromising, stripped-down black metal and slower, almost post-metal textures of "A Psylacybic Death", it is an intense and dynamic experience.

Black Blood draws both from the band's roots and new inspirations. The fact that members of British black metal bands The Sun's Journey Through the Night and Revenant Marquis appear is a welcome nod to where Abduction come from, yet the fact that the band are atypical for a UKBM act — no rousing odes to England or '90s Scandinavian formulas here – is perhaps their most precious attribute. Their distinctive qualities have also earnt them a place on the roster of one of extreme metal's most famous labels — Candlelight Records — a definite milestone.

"Before this album was recorded, I knew I wanted to step things up a few notches in terms of taking this vision to a wider audience," A|V states. "Candlelight approached me — indirectly, as they didn't know who I was behind the mask — and offered a deal that more than meets where I want to take this project. Rather than continue to exist in the well-established sphere I've grown comfortable in, I decided that now is the time to take a leap into the unknown. Much like the narratives of the songs, there is both trepidation and elation. Time will be the judge…"

NEW ALBUM 'SACRED CARGO'

OUT NOVEMBER 11!

Global doom metal supergroup MMXX have released the video for the new single "Shadow Haven", featuring Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity/Nightingale).

This is the third single to be released from their forthcoming album 'Sacred Cargo', out November 11 via Candlelight Records.

Pre-order it HERE

"Shadow Haven" bursts forth with sombre grace and melancholy, paving the path for the band's debut with a rich-textured soundscape, soulful vocals, and powerful beauty.

Drummer Jesse Haff explains, "Andrea [Chiodetti] shared what would become "Shadow Haven" with me at the very end of the writing process for 'Sacred Cargo'. Even before Dan Swanö brought his magic to the song, I was immediately hypnotized by the composition, and felt it would be the perfect album finale. Dan's dynamic vocals then elevated it to a completely different level. We're all very proud of the final result.

Egan wrote the lyrics about how many of us learned to find peace in the quiet secluded time during pandemic lockdown, despite the misery unfolding around us."

Born during the initial lockdown of Rome and New York City, and incubated as the seasons passed, doom metal supergroup MMXX are the sound of global isolation.

At the core of MMXX is Andrea Chiodetti (ex-The Foreshadowing) on guitars and keys, Jesse Haff on drums (Daylight Dies and Gökböri), and Egan O'Rourke on bass (Daylight Dies). Together, they channeled inspiration for composition after composition to collaborate with a geographically, culturally, and stylistically diverse collection of celebrated vocalists and musicians from around the world.

"'Sacred Cargo' started during one of the darkest moments of lockdown," explains guitarist Andrea Chiodetti, "it was a creative expression, processing what was happening to the world around us. What makes this project unique is that every piece and its lyrics (provided by each singer), all composed during the height of the pandemic, is able to give voice to a deeply intimate part of all of us. They’re lyrics that belong to every person who lived through and shared that collective experience."

The end result, 'Sacred Cargo', is a dynamic and diverse sounding release, simultaneously densely heavy whilst retaining elements of etherealness and light, with each guest vocalist layering in their own perspective to culminate in this eclectic compendium of music reflecting an experience sadly understood by all.

Drummer Jesse Haff adds: "It's amazing to me that the grand vision of this album—one in which we had different vocalists from around the world contributing their own lockdown experience—was actually achieved. Andrea and I imagined our ideal end result and just went for it but underestimated how much coordination would be required by everyone to truly pull it off. I'm amazed that so many talented people connected with the intent behind the project and agreed to participate. I'm deeply grateful for that. We didn't have to describe some foreign science fiction concept—unfortunately it is a directly understood reality experienced by all. I think the idea of directly channeling our unique perspectives into a collective expression resonated with everyone, as an obvious way to mark this era of our lives."

Guest vocalists appearing on 'Sacred Cargo' include Dan Swanö of Edge of Sanity and of Nightingale (Sweden), Yann Ligner of Klone (France), Mick Moss of Antimatter and of Sleeping Pulse (UK), Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride (UK), Mikko Kotamäki of Swallow the Sun (Finland), Carmelo Orlando of Novembre (Italy), Marco Benevento of The Foreshadowing (Italy), Chris Cannella of Autumns End (USA), and Egan O'Rourke of Daylight Dies (USA).

CAGE FIGHT REVEAL STRUGGLES ON NEW SINGLE "EATING ME ALIVE" (FEAT. TREVOR STRNAD)

ON WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

SELF TITLED ALBUM OUT NOW

Hardcore/thrash/crossover band Cage Fight have released a new single "Eating Me Alive" featuring the late, great Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder.

Opening up about struggles with mental health, the "Eating Me Alive" lyric video has been released on World Mental Health Day, the international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

Watch the video for "Eating Me Alive"

One of — if not the final — recording by Strnad, the video was originally planned for May 13, which was Cage Fight's album release day. But the drop was postponed due to Strnad's tragic unexpected passing just days before. Trevor's support for singer Rachel Aspe's work played a key role in the formation of Cage Fight, which is why his contribution to their debut album is so special. And the subject matter — struggles with anxiety and mental health — makes this poignant song even more significant.

Aspe comments, "Over COVID I was looking for a new project and releasing covers for something to do, but also to hopefully connect with other musicians. When I released my cover of "Statutory Ape", Trevor picked up on it and shared from The Black Dahlia Murder's pages, and it got a lot of attention. Trevor messaged me to say he loved it and hoped that I'd find a band off the back of the cover. Not long after James (Monteith, guitar) contacted me about Cage Fight and the rest is history.

"Had it not been for Trevor's support, Cage Fight may never have happened; it was a huge honor to have him guest on this song and it meant the world to us. He was one of the greatest supporters of the scene and new music and is truly missed. RIP Trevor."

On the song's content, bassist Jon Reid comments, "'Eating Me Alive' is about the day-to-day struggles and challenges with mental health that are so prominent to so many people and how the sorrow and loneliness can have a tangible effect. This is something personal to us and we wanted to let people know that they are not alone. We can all have these feelings and that most importantly there is help out there, and we can all find something special.

"We have chosen to release this on World Mental Health Day as a sign of solidarity."

With the new single, Cage Fight are urging fans to show support by purchasing the Trevor Strnad memorial shirt. All proceeds will help Trevor's family cover expenses incurred by his death and benefit the Common Ground Resource & Crisis Center.

THE KELLY DECO BAND RETURNS WITH THE RETRO-FUTURISTIC ‘CONSTELLATION’

The Kelly Deco Band return on December 2nd, 2022 with their latest album, ‘Constellation.’ Hailing from California, the band’s leader describes his music as “Retro-futuristic, rock, love, and fantasy. Songs with a mix of old 70s rock and futuristic spins on Bowie, Meatloaf, Anthony Newley, and Love.”

Deco also points out that legendary Producer & Grammy Winner Val Garay “really delivered that 70’s sound we wanted, and he invented.” And concerning standout tracks, he said, “Check out ‘Destination Fascination,’ ‘Automat Girl,’ and ‘Waiting for the Girl, ‘Take the Red Pill,’ and ‘Creature Dream.’ ‘Automat Girl’ is a great sounding 70’s riff on a classic Edward Hopper painting of the same name, where we finally understand what’s happening there. I love the paintings of Edward Hopper, and With ‘Automat Girl,’ I really feel the excitement of running away through the streets of NYC with the girl of my dreams and nothing but the night and the stars above.”

You can stream ‘Automat Girl’ here: https://ffm.to/automatgirl.OPR

Pre-save the album here: https://ffm.to/kdconstellation.OPR

In the early ‘80s, the band began playing such famous LA venues as the Troubadour, Gazzarri's and the Whiskey A Go Go, and recorded music connected to Robert Stigwood at United Western Studios, included the songs “Get Out” and a ballad called “Working for a Chance to Survive.” Stars aligned for meeting up with Richard “Dickie” Davis of Buffalo Springfield fame (coincidentally good friend of producer/engineer Val Garay).

And this was the point that Kelly began his time working as a scenic artist in the movie industry. The song “No Reality” (written in 1982), was soon trademarked, and would serve as the symbol for the Kelly Deco Band. “No Reality” was the best-known track from his first CD, ‘Big Fish,’ recorded at the Record Plant Studios in Sausalito 1983 and 1984, while more tracks were added in Los Angeles studios, until ‘Big Fish’ was officially released in 1990.

The stars then aligned and the independently-produced video for “No Reality” (directed by Wayne White, three-time Emmy award winning designer for ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse’ and Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time”) became widely publicized. The clip was played on numerous nationwide video programs, garnering national attention, and ultimately charting in Billboard Magazine’s Viewer’s Top Request on the nationwide program ‘Night Tracks’ in 1991 for most requested video.

Later that year, Kelly made personal appearances on the California Music Channel in San Francisco, promoting the “No Reality” video, and Total Request Video in Arizona as well as the popular San Francisco Program ‘Art Attack.’ In 1994, Kelly released the CD ‘American Dream,’ followed by the release of ‘Get Out,’ with the title song originating from the 1982 Stigwood session at United Western. The stars aligned once again, and Kelly’s most recent recording is with legendary and Grammy award winning music producer Val Garay. The current album, ‘Constellation,’ is in final stages of release.

Following an invitation to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Ashley McBryde invites you to the revered Ryman Auditorium to experience Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, featuring the cast of collaborators and special guests performing songs from her critically acclaimed album, February 15 and 16. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, Oct. 14 at AshleyMcBryde.com.

“In a perfect world, it needs to be a live show,” McBryde shared with AP upon album’s release. “In my heart, it would be at the Ryman, done in the style of a community theater, kind of Prairie Home Companion it. To deliver those performances in that way I think would be really beautiful and a lot of fun.”

Paying homage to the radio programs of yesteryear, McBryde confirms Stereogum’s observation of the ringleader: “Here’s someone who loves and respects the age-old storytelling traditions of country music and who wants to find strange new ways to honor those traditions.”

Developing Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville for the stage won’t require too much stretching, as Variety notes, “It sounds like the beginnings of a solid country music musical,” while Saving Country Music asserts, “You could consider Lindeville just as much like a stage production as you could a studio album, with the cast of characters unfolding before you as the songs transpire.”

Cited by NPR as a “glorious detour into downhome character studies,” the Arkansas-native and her collaborators leaned all the way in on Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, garnering applause from critics upon its debut.

Produced by John Osborne, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville includes performances from McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Aaron Raitiere, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack and Benjy Davis, with NPR calling it “a mischievous, and mightily pleasing, departure from the prescribed progression of a mainstream country career,” while AP praises, “McBryde and crew created detail-rich storylines with a John Prine level of empathy and compassion.”

“The very existence of an album like Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville is enough to restore your faith in Nashville, however far afield it might have wandered,” Variety boasts, making it “Country music’s most ambitious and oddball album in recent memory,” emphasizes Esquire.

Celebrated by Rolling Stone as “one of Nashville’s most exciting new exports, an ace songwriter who is also an ace singer and performer,” McBryde “has made abundantly clear over the course of her short but fruitful career, she is principally interested in peeling back the layers and speaking the truth,” boasts Vulture.

Summed up by Stereogum, “There’s a whole lot of beautiful writerly vision at work on Lindeville, but it wouldn’t matter if the songs weren’t great. Guess what? The songs are great… A lot of people put a lot of work into this record, and they made something that resonates on a deep, emotional level. Give it up for them.”

“When it comes out,” McBryde shared with Esquire, “I hope everybody laughs a little bit and I hope everybody says ‘What the f*ck?’ a little bit. Sometimes you look and realize, this town is such a mess, everybody here is a disaster. And in the same breath, in that same three minutes, everybody’s okay. And I love those times. Sometimes I wish I could make that stand still a little bit longer—we’re all a disaster, and it’s beautiful. And that’s true whether it’s a small town or a big city.”

About Ashley McBryde
CMA and ACM award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in rural biker bars – and it shows. Her 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed the New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist of the Year, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. Produced once again by Jay Joyce, Never Will reveals the witty, confessional, detail-driven songwriting addressing a wide spectrum of blue-collar Southern women’s experience introduced on Girl Going Nowhere is still here, but perhaps even sharper. The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her critically acclaimed duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde earned five total 2022 CMA nominations including her third consecutive nod for Female Vocalist of the Year along with Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year for her duet with Pearce. Minneapolis' The Persian Leaps releases powerpop/ indie rock EP 'Machines For Living'

"Silky fuzz and solid hooks echo The Smiths, Orange Juice and Teenage Fanclub with great enthusiasm... celestial guitar jangle" NME Magazine

"A little bit of R.E.M., a little bit Lemonheads. A dash of The Smiths, a hint of The Replacements... all-reaching, down to earth, good American indie rock" ~ Spill Magazine

"Unpretentious and infectious... vast riffs, euphonious vocals and pop sensibility. captivatingly pleasurable blustery indie rock"Louder Than War

"Truncated treatises in big-guitar post-punk power-pop" The Big Takeover

"Huge riffs echoing through your speakers, melodious vocals and the sort of pop sensibility we’ve come to expect from bands like Nada Surf"Austin Town Hall

Power pop / indie rock outfit The Persian Leaps has released the 'Machines for Living' EP, a 5-track gem of a release, via Land Ski Records.

Based in Minneapolis, The Persian Leaps surrounds principal songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Drew Forsberg. Writing solo under that name for years, he finally assembled a band in 2012.

"The phrase 'Machines for Living' comes from the French architect Le Corbusier. He was a friend/contemporary of Walter Gropius (who started the Bauhaus movement in Germany) and once wrote “a house is a machine for living in,” which is even more true in this era of “smart homes”. The cover art that Jon Hunt designed is inspired by Bauhaus," says Drew Forsberg.

Earlier The Persian Leaps released the singles 'Alright Alright' and 'Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget', the latter of which was written and performed by Jon Asher(Drew's uncle) and folk/rock superstar Dan Fogelberg under the name The Coachmen. Having opened for bands like The Who and The Hollies, their only recorded output was a 45 released on Ledger Records in 1967 with this track as the A-side.

The latest in a fruitful string of releases, The Persian Leaps released their widely acclaimed 'Drone Etiquette' album in late 2021. Here again, they dish out a fine new collection of 90s college rock-inspired compositions, their distinct sound built on a magnetic alternative rock foundation.

From their 2013 debut 'Praise Elephants' EP, which NME Magazine described as “celestial guitar jangle”, the Leaps released an EP every autumn until 2017. From their acclaimed sophomore 'Drive Drive Delay' EP in 2014 to their fifth 'Bicycle Face' EP, they have delivered one perfect power pop cocktail after another. Their massive 2018 'Pop That Goes Crunch' anthology was followed by a return as a studio project, releasing the 'Electrical Living' LP in 2019 and the 'Smiling Lessons' EP in 2020 together with Jon Hunt.

As of October 7, the 'Machines For Living' EP will be available across online platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp.

Ashley McBryde Invited to Become the Newest Member of the Grand Ole Opry on CBS Mornings

Arkansas Native Surprised by Invitation from Country Icon Garth Brooks on CBS Mornings

WATCH: McBryde with Pillbox Patti “Brenda Put Your Bra On” Performance on
NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers

AP opines Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville creates
“detail-rich storylines with a John Prine level of empathy and compassion”
and NPR praises, “a mischievous, and mightily pleasing,
departure from the prescribed progression of a mainstream country career”

While performing at the Grand Ole Opry a little over a year ago, current five-time CMA nominee and two-time winner Ashley McBryde shared with the audience, “I dream about joining the Opry and what that day will be like — Will I cry the entire time? Will I be seated? Who will ask me? I dream about that more than I dream about my wedding.” No longer dreaming about the special day, the Arkansas native has officially been invited to be the newest member of the revered Country institution by Garth Brooks on CBS Mornings. Watch the clip HERE.

“It would be the great joy and the great honor of my life,” McBryde answered through joyful tears. “There’s the GRAMMYs and there’s being a member of the Grand Ole Opry – they are the two greatest things that can happen to you as an entertainer. I’ve always said I will earn it, and this is a pretty surreal moment.”

On the heels of the release of critically acclaimed Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, McBryde took to NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers last night, Oct. 5, to perform the Outsider-dubbed “perfect introduction to McBryde’s wild little town,” “Brenda Put Your Bra On,” joined by album collaborator Pillbox Patti. Watch the performance HERE.

Cited by NPR as a “glorious detour into downhome character studies,” the four-time GRAMMY nominee and her collaborators leaned all the way in on Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, garnering applause from critics upon its debut.

Produced by John Osborne, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville includes performances from McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Aaron Raitiere, Patti, Caylee Hammack and Benjy Davis, with Rolling Stone calling it a “wildly inventive” album “about a group of people all living in a little town just trying to get by,” as Billboardobserves, “While the songs do center on life in a small town, the stories and characters in Lindeville dispel the idyllic nostalgia that permeates many songs currently staking their claims on the country charts.”

“McBryde and crew created detail-rich storylines with a John Prine level of empathy and compassion,” praises AP, while Variety notes, “The very existence of an album like Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville is enough to restore your faith in Nashville, however far afield it might have wandered,” making it “Country music’s most ambitious and oddball album in recent memory,” observes Esquire.

Skillfully pushing genre boundaries, WESSELS has put her heart and soul into this new offering, making her spirit tangible with every note and transforming this album into a flawless immersion of rock, pop, metal and beyond - all produced, performed and programmed in her own Six Feet Under studio.

Channeling her inner goddess, “Venus Rising” pulls audiences into the unique sonic Olympus of her musical sophistication. The captivating synth-flavored track combines rich musical styles - showcasing her unique approach and manifesting her own divinity with this song once more - honest, refined and truly limitless. “Venus Rising” is impressively underlined with an astonishing official music video.

CHARLOTTE WESSELS on “Venus Rising”:

Venus Rising was inspired by Botticelli's painting The Birth Of Venus. Even though she was modeled after the ideals of her time, I take comfort from the fact that she never had to cover up or uncover, be louder or more soft spoken, grow bigger or smaller, but just rises from the waves and comes into power unaffected by expectations, regulations and injustices that reign in the real world. We recorded the video for the song last week, and I couldn't stop thinking about the brave women of Iran, and how they're fighting for their most basic human rights at this very moment. It is heartbreaking and in my mind the song is dedicated to them. #MahsaAmini”

This eclectic wealth of songs proves WESSELS’ exceptional ability to express the sincerest feelings and emotions within her art and her distinct intuition for the combination of seemingly different genres. 'Tales From Six Feet Under Vol II' is an enchanting portent of CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ further multifaceted endeavors.

CHARLOTTE WESSELS adds:

“Since May 2020, I’ve been writing and recording a new song every month down in my basement “Six Feet Under Studio”, fueled by - and released to - my tight-knit Patreon community. This album wouldn’t be there without them. I’m excited to team up with Napalm Records again to release a new collection of these tracks with a wider audience.

With ''Tales From Six Feet Under', I released my favorite tracks of the first year of this endeavor onto the world in 2021, and 'Tales From Six Feet Under Vol II' is its counterpart, with my favorite tracks from the second year. There are definitely differences between the two, with the second leaning more towards the heavier side, but they do belong together.

Together they represent a time of introspection and solitary songwriting in the basement. A time that has taught me a lot and has been very meaningful to me, but also a time that, as I started this project in the middle of Covid quarantine, has already - thankfully - started changing. Not because I won’t be writing and recording 'Six Feet Under' anymore, but because as the world is opening up again, I too will come out of the basement and out of my shell again with live concerts, and collaborations are on the horizon.”

The bewitching 'Tales From Six Feet Under Vol II' will be available as 1LP Vinyl GOLD, 1LP Vinyl RECYCLED BLACK, 1LP Vinyl RECYCLED COLOR (Patreon exclusive) as well as on all digital platforms.

Moreover, fans will get a combined 2CD Digisleeve that also includes WESSELS's exciting first solo offering 'Tales From Six Feet Under Vol I', which will be released on CD for the first time now!

Dmitry Wild lets go of fear on Jesus & Mary Chain-inspired 'Sweetest Thing' ahead of 'Electric Souls' LP (out Oct. 14)

"A sonic and visual storyteller... channeling Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Lee Hazlewood" ~ Post-Punk.com

"Shatteringly propulsive garage-psych romper... it kills" ~ Vanyaland

"A rock and roll smash that has both groove and heart. An infectious piece of foot-on-the-monitor rock that blends power with poignancy. It’s precisely what the world needs right now" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Bringing together sound, influence, and relevance. Taking the best bits of epic rock, garage, and punk, Dmitry Wild brings the bombastic and writes the drama with this rock musical style production" ~ Sound Read Six

"Wild, swaggering and buoyant... hyper full-band rhythm and feel-good factor" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

As New York-based garage rock purveyor Dmitry Wild gears up to release his 'Electric Souls' album, he brings us the Jesus and Mary Chain-flavored single 'Sweetest Thing', which is about fear and our tendency to cyclically return to that feeling before we can finally overcome it.

The accompanying video was filmed and edited by Strange House Media with a backing video by BamIam. Filmed around Woodstock and Hudson, New York, including on-site at Hudson Brewing and Co, the video features Tommy Love and Robert Paley (of Dmitry Wild & The Spells), as well as appearances by Jennifer Claroscura and Tryst as the witch.

Showcasing his trademark blend of 70’s vintage rock, garage rock and punk ethos, this single follows the lead track 'Liberation' feat. Tryst with its accompanying video, featuring imagery that is symbolic of protest and hope, filmed in Ukraine, Spain, Czech Republic and various US locales, including Florida, Massachusetts, Tennessee and San Francisco.

"'Sweetest Thing' is also about evolving and growing as a person and one day you let the fear go and swim in the ocean rain, but all that is done to punk shoegaze raunchy guitars that are reminiscent of Jesus and Mary Chain and perhaps about of New Order in the bridge to have it all explode in the guitar attack till the end," says Dmitry Wild.

Very passionate about the craft of songwriting, Dmitry Wild used the downtime of the great pandemic to get some serious work done, completing the final writing for this solo album and gradually recording this material. Some material from earlier is also included, dating back to when he was living in California.

With music steeped in garage rock and rock n roll, this album also brings in the flair of 80’s epic synths, bluesy songs, gypsy-inspired compositions, and 70’s-inspired driving tunes.

On this album, Wild collaborated with Strange House Media, their main engineer, Byron Frayne, mixing most of the songs included here and mastering the full album. This collaboration also extended to the two songs released from this album to date - the videos for 'Don’t Need Anybody' and 'Castle Walls' were also created in collaboration with Strange House Media, Byron Frayne and Tryst as editor.

On the live music scene, Dmitry's shows take on a more rocking sound. His band Dmitry Wild & The Spells currently involves drummer Tommy Love, bassist Robert Paley, keyboardist Garret Smelcer and David Varlow on rhythm guitar. When also sometimes joined by notable Rockabilly bassist Chops LaConte, things take on a more theatrical turn.

'Sweetest Thing' is out now, available at all fine online music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where the 'Electric Souls' LP (out October 14) can already be ordered.

Postpunk outfit Candy Coffins release 'Seaside Girls', a tribute to the playful abandon of youth. 'Once Do It With Feeling' LP out Oct. 21

"Lush instrumentation and sombre storytelling. Their gothic post-punk vortex engulfs you. Poignant vocal melodies swoon amongst soft guitars and expansive synths to craft a song that will continue wandering the sonic corridors of your mind" ~ The Record Stache

"A passionately powerful collection that, while steeped in pop nostalgia, is loaded with resonant melodies and an overall denser shimmer...channels the best from 1980s music in modern compositions that are entirely appealing for the here and now" ~ The Spill Magazine

"The band at their considerable best, walking a fine-tuned line between darkness and the silver-lining of new romanticism. Haunting with loads of energy... nervous, edgy vocal delivery" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"An enthralling and fascinating listen with their sonic imagery, emotional turbulence and new romantic underpinnings"
~ Skylight Webzine

Post-punk new romantics Candy Coffins present 'Seaside Girls', along with a video companion, paying tribute to the playful abandon of youth with a healthy dose of indierock. This is the second taste of the band's new album 'Once Do It With Feeling', a loaded 10-track collection that arrives two years after their 'Somehow Misplaced' EP.

"When the pandemic hit, I decided I would not write a dark song as the first one written during the period. It seemed too easy given the times. It took me three months, but we got 'Seaside Girls' from the effort, which is an upbeat sun-drenched rocker on the new album, 'Once Do It With Feeling'. It’s all the rage," says frontman-songwriter Jame Lathren.

Earlier, the band released 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' and an accompanying video created by Jame Lathren, exploring the dark corners and haunting suffocation of a broken relationship.

This album showcases mature strides in songwriting, the band relating the themes addressed both confidently and cohesively. Emotionally and sonically saturated, their music boasts Cure-esque textures and melody, as well as the thematic elements and visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs.

Lathren notes, "The full album chronicles a relationship from the onset of the first crack to its complete crumbling dissolution. All the feelings and emotions of tumult are captured here, from both persons’ perspectives."

Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Jame Lathren, a small-town boy who admired artists who were not on popular radio, formed Candy Coffins in 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina. A cultural outcast, his resilience, sensitivity and hyper-awareness of his emotional state would ultimately permeate his own music, getting right to the heart of the emotions surrounding the human condition.

After disbanding his previous post-punk band Crown The Cake, he formed Candy Coffins with hometown guitar legend Tom Alewine (Bachelors of Art), followed by seasoned music scene veterans Alex Mabrey on bass and Justin Purdy on keys, and former Iron & Wine touring drummer Jonathan Bradley. Their dynamic and textured approach has contributed to the band's trademark lush sound, channeling and bolstering Lathren’s emotive songwriting and delivery.

With tasteful nods to Joy Division, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, The Afghan Whigs and The Cult, as well as contemporaries like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Interpol, Candy Coffins’ sound is dark and emotionally restless, but with elements of hope and elation. Defiantly unique, their sound is a welcome respite from musical mediocrity.

'Seaside Girls' is out now, available everywhere digitally, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' can also be found. The 'Once Do It With Feeling' LP will be released on October 21 and can be ordered at https://candycoffins.bandcamp.com.
