Employed To Serve to Drop Deluxe Edition of "Conquering" on 3/10 + Share "Sun Up to Sun Down" Remix Video — WATCH☀️

Employed To Serve will release the digital deluxe version of their current studio album, Conquering, on March 10 via Spinefarm. This updated version will include four new tracks: a heady mix of the new, the Remix, and the live, in addition to a fresh cover image.

The brand new recording is "Take Back Control," a typically full-on number produced and mixed by Lewis Johns, who worked with the band on the Conquering album itself; the Remix, meanwhile, is an inventive re-working of Conquering track "Sun Up To Sun Down," featuring New Zealand metal three-piece Alien Weaponry; while the two live tracks were recorded last year on the Gojira tour of Europe.

Check out "Sun Up To Sun Down (Feat. Alien Weaponry)"

Justine Jones, Employed To Serve frontwoman offers"We always find it exciting to rework an already finalized song, and when the idea of doing it to a track from our latest album Conquering came up, the obvious choice was 'Sun Up to Sun Down.'"

She continues, "The idea of re-working a track is to add a new dimension to it, and what better way than bringing in new musicians to alter the entire DNA of the song. We asked the guys in Alien Weaponry if they would be up for this collaboration whilst on tour with them last summer. We thought their vocal stylings could really add something to 'Sun Up...' They seemed as enthusiastic about the idea as we were, so when we got back from tour, we sent them the track to add their parts and we were stoked on the outcome! It's also rather poetic, due to the time difference when the sun is rising here in the UK, it's setting in their home country of New Zealand."

Handpicked by Gojira themselves, Employed To Serve head back out on the road as part of the "Fortitude Tour" this month. The tour sees them play alongside Gojira and Alien Weaponry at the 10,400 capacity Alexandra Palace, London, before heading over to France to play even bigger rooms.

ETS's current studio album, Conquering, was released via Spinefarm on September 17, 2021 to mass critical acclaim; landing #4 in Metal Hammer’s albums of the year list and #6 in Kerrang! Conquering is a fully realized metamorphosis into the band they've always wanted to be.

Four albums in, and a steady stream of accolades in tow, Employed To Serve's meteoric rise from genre hopefuls to becoming one of UK metal’s most consistently captivating bastions is indisputable.

Dark times inspire 'Requiem For The Sun' single by Brooklyn post-punk duo A CLOUD OF RAVENS

“Their sound, though inspired by bands of their youth, is not rooted stubbornly in the past - their music feels of this time, with their messages transversing the cosmos” ~ Post-Punk.com

"Sonic luxuriance... racing at full velocity with tight-fisted riffs, cutting exactitude and danceability... a healthy reminder of the original and timeless allure of the post-punk sound and scene" ~ The Spill Magazine

“A Cloud of Ravens impress not only for the dark poetry, which forms and develops in the band’s lyrics and expands in their alluring titles, but the duo also rivet through their gritty and immediate sonic scheme, which feels pitch dark and hard as nails”Destroy // Exist

"A perfect blend of an homage to the past and the modern construction of the future. A heroic journey through a desolate land" ~ Sounds and Shadows

“They play cold wave, they play post-punk, they are Gothics, and they set to music some of the most striking lyrics you can find out there” ~ White Light // White Heat

Alt-rock post-punk duo A Cloud of Ravens present a new veiled calling card for their forthcoming 'Lost Hymns' LP, set for release on April 28 via Nexilis Records / Schubert Music Europe. With a hopeful eye towards the light, 'Requiem For The Sun' is a rich frenetic jaunt through the multiple facets of darkness we are all so eager to leave.

This new offering follows the singles 'Nature of Artifice' and 'The Blackest Mantra', which opened the door to the hallways of the new album, a collection of 11 tracks recorded from spring to autumn 2021 and mastered by ACTORS' Jason Corbett at the Jacknife Sound studio in Vancouver.

"Though it has nothing to do with actual organized religion, “Requiem for the Sun” takes me back to hymns I sang in church choir as a child, and informed the album’s title. To paraphrase a sentiment that dates back to the early 20th century; in a world of deceit and disinformation, both personal or worldly, sunlight, truth, is the best disinfectant. If this song has a message, it’s that," says Matthew McIntosh.

Formed in 2018 by Matthew McIntosh (guitar and vocals) and Beth Narducci (bass guitar), the Brooklyn-based duo emerged on the burgeoning dark music scene with a series of self-released offerings that garnered attention that led to their 2021 album 'Another Kind of Midnight', a mournful yet triumphant collection exploring the heart of a world amidst a devastating pandemic and torn by moral tribalism.

Effectively merging classic and contemporary post-punk and darkwave sensibilities, their somewhat poetic use of prose and metaphor expressed the trials and joys of the world in which we now find ourselves. A Cloud of Ravens' subsequent remix-based EP featured contributions by legendary producer John Fryer and such prominent artists as Clan of Xymox, ACTORS, Chris Vrenna and Ritual Howls.

Growing up in a family of avid music lovers and her mother being a professional opera single, McIntosh arrived at this genre of music after ample explorations in the punk, death rock and hardcore scenes, finally forging the duo's trademark sound with Narducci, whose background is more connected with alternative rock and industrial music, as well as professionally supporting fellow musicians in the A&R field.

As of February 3, 'Requiem For The Sun' is available across digital outlets, including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon and Bandcamp. In addition to the full 'Lost Hymns' album release in April, fans can look forward to North American tour dates with Clan of Xymox and Curse Mackey in mid-2023.

The Ongoing Concept Return With Original Lineup + New Album "Again" + Band Shares "Prisoner Again" Video — WATCH🔄

THE ONGOING CONCEPT RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM AGAIN OUT MARCH 31 VIA SOLID STATE RECORDS

FIRST NEW MUSIC FROM THE BAND SINCE 2017

ORIGINAL LINEUP REFORMS!

THE ONGOING CONCEPT are back!

The band — brothers Dawson Scholz [vocals, guitar], Kyle Scholz [vocals, keys, percussion], and Parker Scholz [drums] along with TJ Nichols [bass] and Andy Crateau [vocals, guitar] — has announced its fourth album Again, out March 31 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.

Not only is this the first taste of new music from the band since 2017 but it also marks the return of the original lineup.

Get re-acquainted with The Ongoing Concept by checking out the new single "Prisoner Again." Watch the video below.

"'Prisoner Again' was one of the first songs we started writing, almost got scrapped multiple times, and then ended up becoming one of our favorites in the end," says Dawson. "We wanted to bring a classic The Ongoing Concept sound but were struggling in finding a way to showcase a new era of the band. The missing piece of the puzzle was adding TJ and Andy's vocals to the mix. Along with Kyle and my vocals, you get a taste of the range this album will have. Also, Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, King 810) absolutely crushed it with the mix!"

For a little history lesson and how the band came back to its original form, keep reading!

The Ongoing Concept emerged with the now-seminal Saloon back in 2013. On its heels, fan favorite Handmade bowed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Christian Albums Chart in addition to cracking the Top 30 of the Top Independent Albums Chart. In its wake, Kyle, Parker, and TJ departed, leaving Dawson as the sole original member for Places in 2017. As The Ongoing Concept went dormant, the group's catalog continued to react with listeners as the likes of "Cover Girl" clocked over a million Spotify streams and counting. After a period of quiet, communication mended between Dawson and his brothers Kyle and Parker. Between careers, marriages, and kids, they kicked around the idea of playing together once more.

"We’d been playing music since we were six-years-old," notes Dawson. "We lived and breathed the same band together. It's crazy, because I didn't know my brothers outside of music. Taking a break for a few years, we found who we were as normal people and embraced other interests. It was super healthy for all of us. One day, we were hanging out, and I said, 'You know I’ve been working on some little skeletons for songs, and it made sense. The only reason we got back together was because we had our time apart."

They self-produced Again and took their time. The Ongoing Concept integrated "lyrics and Easter Eggs" from previous albums into the record’s framework, embodying the title quite literally.

Outlaw Pop Artist DEVORA Shares New EP ‘God Is Dead’, announces tour dates with Bush

With influences that range from Nine Inch Nails to Dolly Parton, and a touch of Lana Del Rey thrown in for good measure – genre bending Outlaw Pop artist DEVORA has released a new EP "God Is Dead" via Tiger Tone Records / [PIAS].  She is also slated to tour with Bush in February (dates below).

The EP contains four songs, with previously unreleased track "Bonesaw" leading the way. DEVORA says of the ominously enchanting track: “Bonesaw” is about a night in a motel room gone wrong, in a dark direction. It’s a voyeuristic impression of the lines between romance and impulse being heavily blurred. The song opens with seemingly illusive pretty snapshots of an all-American day dream, but progressively turns morose and ends with a bonesaw left in the motel room sink. I used to read a lot of medical textbooks as a hobby and one of the surgical tools from the civil war era, the bonesaw, always intrigued me. I have a couple of vintage ones at home”. The music video was directed by Felicity Jayn Heath.

She continues: “A lot of my songs take place in motel rooms. There’s something really macabre and eerily temporary about a motel room where, for essentially 24 hours, you can be whoever you want to be in that room sealed and removed from the outside world... It’s like your own revolving set. What happens in that room stays in that room. A lot of serial killers have set up shop in motel rooms and I know I’ve definitely walked into some gnarly motel rooms where I’ve gotten hit with this feeling - like getting punched in the gut, where I've started to put the pieces together that something really messed up must have happened in this room… “Bonesaw” is all of the above”.

The EP, produced by Alex Aldi (Passion Pit, Holy Ghost!) and Cass Dillon (Goo Goo Dolls, Grey Daze) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck), is a collection of stories Inspired by true events that paint a picture of a modern Wild West culture. The songs are a haunting ode to the dark side of the American Dream. Gone are the days of the white-picket fences and beauty pageant queens; they’ve left long ago and made way for a new form of cultural anarchy, non-conformist beliefs and a generation of outlaws like DEVORA.

DEVORA’s debut EP, Outlaw, celebrated life in the fast lane, offering an inner glimpse into a mad world of exile and rebellion, love and lawlessness. It was her first installment of a fierce collective of stories and art that illustrate a perfect portrait of her dark wild west. The EP saw support at radio, peaking top five on the SubModern Commercial Specialty Charts, and press write-ups at places like AltPress, INKED, and Earmilk. DEVORA has amassed more than 3 million cumulative audio streams of her music to date. She has been honing her live show chops with solo dates in the Southern California area, along with direct support dates on a national tour with The Warning in the spring of 2022.

Tiger Tone Records was welcomed into the [PIAS] family in late 2020 and puts them among the company of revered indie labels such as Transgressive, Heavenly Recordings and Bella Union. Tony Hoffer is celebrated for an illustrious career spanning decades working with distinguished artists such as M83, Phoenix, Beck, The Kooks, The Snuts and many more.

Powerhouse 'Break You' single from Toronto's ON heralds U.S. West Coast and South-West tour dates

"Sitting pretty at the heavier end of the College Rock sound, the band has managed to pull off a clever blend of pop melody with raw rock abrasiveness in quite a potent sonic sucker punch. Their very tight weave of classic and alt rock coated grunge works fabulously" ~ The Spill Magazine

"A cool album. A smart album. A deftly crafted album. A rock album? Yes…but much more. So much more" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Its DNA intwértwined with sounds once pounded out by the likes of the Pumpkins, Hole and L7...  one of the most exciting outfits to emerge post-pandemic" ~ Global Texan Chronicles

Indie rock / power trio ON present 'Break You', a potent prism of the 90s-flavoured indie rock vibes offered on their latest eponymous 'ON' album, recently released via Toronto-based indie imprint Indiestructable Records.

The band will be embarking on a West Coast tour that will bring them to dozens of U.S. cities on the West Coast, Rockies and South-West, kicking off in San Diego on February 14 through to Seattle on April 2.

ON is a power trio made up of Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass), Dan Cornelius(drums) and Steve Fall (guitars) - carrying on the legacy of their former 90's band - the Sire Records-signed Acid Test - with members also having been in other popular Toronto bands Danko Jones and Deliuss.

Always pushing forward with their trademark sound while also paying homage to their post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock roots, they dish out infectious guitar riffs with a dash of p-funk groove to create positive heavy music recalling the golden days of American college radio.

"'Break You' soars like a goodbye love letter to a toxic person, place or substance; it’s a decree of emancipation - and breaking away from what dictates and captures the human soul. It is an outcry, a battle cry, and finally a freedom cry of intention - all wrapped up in a hardcore punk-metal riff that end with Sabbath-esque overtones," says Lucy Di Santo.

Earlier, ON released the singles 'Blackmail' with video directed and edited by Michael Gucciardi and 'Underdog' with lively video filmed by Lindi Gordon and edited by Gucciardi. With these singles and focus track 'Hereafter', the band has been charting in the Radio Indie Alliance charts consecutively over the past half year.

Written in Toronto and New York, ON guitarist Steve Fall says the 'ON' album is "a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry as a band." Following pre-production recording with Drew Howard at Star Sound Studios in Cape Coral, the band worked with sound engineer Darius Szczepaniak (Sum 41, Black Crowes, Big Sugar, Bare Naked Ladies, Jann Arden) out of Phase One Studios.

In April, ON return to the studio to work on their next album with legendary producer Martin Bisi, famed for his groundbreaking work with Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet, Africa Bambaataa, Dresden Dolls, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop and many other notable artists, at his BC Studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

The full 'ON' album is out now and available everywhere online, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered at https://indiestructablerecords.com.

Invent Animate Announce "Heavener" Album + Share "Immolation of Night" Video

Progressive metalcore head-turners INVENT ANIMATE have announced their new album HEAVENER. It arrives March 17 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

To celebrate the good news, the band has shared the video for "Immolation of Night." Watch it below.

"While searching for inspiration to write this song, I had grown tired of recounting past trauma and things that have hurt me and still affect me," says drummer Trey Celaya. "It was making me feel powerless, and I wanted to take that power back and approach from a different angle. This song was born of a realization that all of my suffering has actually made me incredibly resilient and grounded, and I am not the weak person that I sometimes feel that I am. In reality, I have a certain confidence in life that I wouldn't have if not for my losses and failures. They've given me a lot of good characteristics and shaped me into who I am today, and it's a person I'm proud of."

And thus "Immolation of Night" was born. The song boasts stadium-sized, foundation-shaking breakdowns with a twist!

The video finds the protagonist entangled in unsettling distress, while the band delivers a back-breaking performance in an eerily monochromatic ensemble.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE Reveals New Album, Shares New Song + Music Video

Progressive rock trio BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE will be releasing a brand new full-length, 'Tempus Veritas,' on April 14, 2023! The cover artwork, traklist, and details can be found below! In conjunction with this announcement, the band is now sharing the energetic first single, "Deny the Sun." The song can be found along with an official music video, which was created by Alina Gordienco.

"'Deny The Sun' is the first song we wrote for 'Tempus Veritas' and we love how hard the riff goes!" exclaims vocalist/guitarist Paul Visser about the new single. "We’ve been pushing more and more into the technical side of our music for this album and this track is a great example of that. Lyrically, it deals with Galileo’s ideas about the central nature of the sun and the clash with religious views at the time, written from the point of view of his friend Pope Urban VIII who found himself in an impossible position and ended up condemning the astronomer. Our friend and long-time collaborator Alina Gordienco made the amazing video in LA, starring the wonderful Irina Dudyk as the sun goddess.  Her work is consistently inspired and we love what she did for this song!"

Regarding the album, the Black Orchid Empire explains: "Interwoven with the fabric of our history as a species are countless opportunities for stories. Little pieces of imagined narrative, set within events we all collectively know as historical, that seek to explore what it means to be human - this is the idea behind 'Tempus Veritas'. Whereas Semaphore looked to the future, this record reinvents the past, wondering what it was like to be inside the mind of a person living through times of consequence. Musically, we continue to seek the boundary between the savagely technical and the undeniably beautiful and attempt to push it as far as possible. We poured our entire creative beings into making this album - we sincerely hope you enjoy it."

Pre-orders are now available HERE. The album can be pre-saved on various digital platforms HERE.

BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE create huge, memorable rock music that combines heavy-hitting savagery with intense melodic beauty. Their technical, fearlessly complex grooves and gigantic sing-along choruses have already earned them a widespread fanbase.

A ferociously tight live band, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE have toured Europe and the UK extensively, supporting Skunk Anansie, HED p.e, INME and Black Map as well as festival slots at Download, Standon Calling and Planet Rockstock. Black Orchid Empire have sealed the bands reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Having released their debut album ‘Archetype’ (2016) to universal acclaim, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE signed with German label Long Branch Records to release the follow up albums ‘Yugen’ (2018) and ‘Semaphore’ (2020). Both albums received stellar reviews and over 3,000,000+ combined streams.

“Tempus Veritas” is a collection of stories that seeks to find compelling imaginary narratives hidden away in what we all think of as history.  Behind every milestone or major event in humanity’s long, complex past lies a treasure trove of possibilities for invention - how did Pope Urban VIII feel when confronted by his friend Galileo about the true nature of the sun?  What really happened during an almost triumphant but ultimately doomed Everest attempt? What was it like to be a Norse settler amongst the Saxons; did the omens of the ancient gods begin to disappear?

In approaching “Tempus Veritas”, BLACK ORCHID EMPIRE sought collectively to push themselves both musically and thematically. Their pursuit of heaviness, melody, emotional power and rhythmic complexity has pushed them to create something they‘re immensely proud of. “Semaphore” was an album of Sci-Fi, this is an album of Hi-Fi. Tempus Veritas.

Currents Announce "The Death We Seek" Album + Share "Remember Me" Video

CURRENTS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM THE DEATH WE SEEK OUT MAY 5 VIA SHARPTONE

TOUR WITH PARKWAY DRIVE + MEMPHIS MAY FIRE UNDERWAY

Connecticut metalcore dynamos CURRENTS have announced their new album The Death We Seek. It will arrive on May 5 via SharpTone. Pre-order it here

Today, the band has shared the video for "Remember Me." Watch it below.

"'Remember Me' is a statement to our growing divide between one another," says singer Brian Wille. "The dark side to technology's double-edged-sword is access to a font of information and public discourse, curated to engagement, and skewed to individual interest and world-view. The further we go in, the further we're separated from the middle ground and impartial truths. Over the course of the Internet's existence and the rise of social media empires, we're beginning to fracture our relationships with one another over anything we can fight about, even going as far as to relish in the chaos and division. You can see the exact same event and come out with instant, infinite perspectives across the ideological spectrum; painted on a mass public forum accessible to billions of people. Driven further by algorithms and advertising, poison can spread quickly and have lasting outcomes on how we see eachother and the world around us."

He finishes, "While disagreement and debate are not new, nor the real enemy here, we've all felt a particular strain to our closest ties over the last three years. This song is the release of that frustration and loss, and a call to find what brings us together and work through what set us apart. Whether it's a personal issue or an ideological impasse, we can all do better to practice empathy, understanding, and trust in those around us; that’s the only way we can collectively see through what’s real, and what's interest-driven spectacle."

The band has also shared the news that guitarist Ryan Castaldi is battling lymphoma. A GoFundMe has been set up here and details his prognosis. Please share where able.

Currents are on the road with Parkway Drive and Memphis May Fire. All dates are below.

ABOUT CURRENTS:
Leveling everything in their path with crushing intensity and raw emotional confession, CURRENTS set new standards for dissonance, dissatisfaction, and existential dread, with unstoppable fury.

The band plays an overwhelming and jaw-dropping mixture of metallic hardcore, aggressive melody, and electronic texture. Currents aren't afraid to look inward with stark examinations of failure, heartache, and one's responsibility to the world.

Heady and ferocious, The Death We Seek is Currents at both their most powerful and most vulnerable. Songs like "Unfamiliar," "Vengeance," "Remember Me," and "So Alone" are unflinching explorations of rugged emotional terrain. Currents are uncompromisingly heavy and as raw as a nerve exposed.

They've taken their visceral maelstrom on tour around the world, supporting bands like Ice Nine Kills, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Fit For A King, As I Lay Dying, and We Came As Romans. A combination of their diverse influences, channeled through unique perspectives and personal experiences, Currents alternate between thoughtful and unhinged. Those well-versed in the likes of Meshuggah, Vildhjarta, and Architects have embraced Currents with full-throated passion.

Currents is frontman Brian Wille; guitarists Chris Wiseman and Ryan Castaldi; bassist Chris Pulgarin; and drummer Matt Young. A winding DIY road through earlier lineups resulted in a series of self-released EPs, all leading to the band's acclaimed debut album, The Place I Feel Safest (2017).

The five-song I Let The Devil In EP (2018) came shortly after, co-produced by Wiseman and Ryan Leitru (For Today, We Came As Romans, Like Moths To Flames). The pair also produced the band's stunning sophomore full-length, The Way It Ends (2020). Metal Hammer praised that record's mixture of rage, beauty, and electronic-laden melodic aggression as "immediately addictive."

Leitru and Wiseman co-produced The Death We Seek, and the band's guitarist engineered Wille's vocals himself for the first time. Jeff Dunne (Wage War, Ice Nine Kills, Make Them Suffer) mixed, making for a massive yet nuanced slab that serves as a Currents mission statement going forward.

The lyrics are thoughtful yet accessible, eschewing easy sloganeering for depth. Massive breakdowns, a driving onslaught of riffs, and black metal-worthy beats juxtapose against moments of ambiance, tranquility, and stripped-back melancholy amidst the dense, weighty madness.

The band keeps a dedicated focus that ensures each release serves a purpose, with a cohesive journey from start to finish, as complete artistic statements vs. a disconnected batch of songs.

Across all three albums, in every live show, and with each increasingly cinematic piece of visual storytelling, Currents fearlessly search for meaning amidst uncertain chaos. Abuse, depression, neglect; no trauma spared. They also cast their gaze outward, offering no mercy to an exploitative system that inflicts harm on people, animals, and the Earth.

As New Noise rightfully declared: "CURRENTS is a band not to be ignored."

Philadelphia Stoner/90s Rockers The Stone Eye Bring "Donora"

The Stone Eye Release Their New Single "Donora". The Stone Eye is an alternative rock band that unites distinctive musicianship with a fervor to create a sound markedly all theirs. Their music is a gradual evolutionary process that requires every note to come full circle. "Donora" certainly will entice their listeners to be ready for more.

'"Donora" is a song that began with one creative direction in mind and ended up veering off of the side of a cliff by the end of the songwriting process. That's The Stone Eye way. Initially, Stephen Burdick brought what is now the first couple minutes of the song to the band. After collectively workshopping the song around as a collective for about three weeks, we ended up with a five-minute song that stylistically jumps all over the place yet remains cohesive- which is really cool. "Donora" certainly isn't the most out-there song on the record, but it showcases the band's evolution whilst remaining true to our sound at the same time."' - The Stone Eye

ABOUT:

Come along with us and grab a beer, throw up your legs, and let out a sigh of relief. A new era is born; or at least, something like that. Philadelphia’s premier fuzz-filled rockers are ushering in 2023 with new music throughout the year, beginning with their first single, "Donora". Formed in 2014 by some buddies in High School with a shared love for music and endless amounts of ambition (sometimes to the point of absurdity), The Stone Eye is a band that prides itself in tackling multiple genres within one cohesive package; usually topped off with thunderous rhythm, loud guitars, and haunting vocals. It was not always this way though, and that's a part of the appeal. Throughout the band's long history, musical evolution and experimentation have been at the forefront of each member's mind. What happens if you cross pop-sensibilities with traditional metal? Or maybe throw some funk in there for the ladies? Perhaps this song needs a hand pan? Why not! With every new release, The Stone Eye is providing new perspectives on tried genres, and that's... well, cool. These upcoming releases are absolutely no exception to that now-established mantra, so strap on in, grab that beer we were talking about earlier, and enjoy the ride.

"Donora" will be the first of four singles & music videos cultivated in a twelve-track album entitled Fata Morgana, which is scheduled for an April 28th, 2023 release. Fata Morgana and the aforementioned singles with be made available through Electric Talon Records on CD, Cassette, and Digital mediums.

"We Are Not The Same" Swim the Current ft. Marcos Leal of lll Nino

"The crushing track and slick video are further examples of why you can’t sleep on this rising band..."

Editor of GhostCult Magazine

New Jersey/New York - Tri-State Super Group - Swim The Current have come together to release their next single "WE ARE NOT THE SAME" feat. Marcos Leal of III Nino.

Swim the Current is a project founded by guitarist Greg Antine. Antine knew an infusion would be his creation and together with the professional talents of bassist - George Pond (Disciples Of Verity); drummer - Chris Moore (Ultraphonix); guitarist - Joe Gareri (Joe Gareri Project the music written, recorded, and produced would result in a rock music experience. Each single released thus far has placed a well-known featured vocalist and "We Are Not The Same" has certainly accomplished this marker again with Marcos Leal of III Nino as STC's guest vocalist.

"I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this amazing track with such incredible musicians. We're not the same was written as an Angry Anthem, as a way to help me cope with the demons and frustration of my fathers' cancer diagnosis. It helped me Channel a lot of the anger and aggression within me into something much more productive I am very proud of this song and want to extend thanks to George, Joe, and the rest of the members of Swim The Current For allowing me to be a part of such a masterpiece!"

Marcos Leal Guest Vocals

“The volume of voice measures the value that the mind puts upon the thought! How we think and feel are direct reflections of our surroundings. You are a product of your environment."

George Pond Bassist/Producer

"WE ARE NOT THE SAME"

ABOUT:

Having played in numerous bands throughout the years, Guitarist Greg Antine came to a point in his career where he wanted to branch out and write songs that had more depth and were inspired by his personal life experiences. Having grown up less than two miles from the beaches of South Jersey, The entire vibe of Swim the Current is infused with elements of the ocean and beaches of South Jersey where Greg still resides.

Having worked with Bassist George Pond for several years on previous projects including, Disciples Of Verity, Greg expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George in hopes of collaborating with him on this new music venture. The two began to flesh out ideas in George’s home studio and realized quickly that they were on to something special, but still needed something more to see their ideas through to complete their concepts.

Greg was introduced to Joe Gareri, Guitar/Keyboards, by George during the Disciples Of Verity debut album recording sessions which Joe is also featured as a guest artist. The three of them immediately hit it off and worked extremely well together. Greg and George realized that Joe’s cinematic writing style would be a perfect match for their concepts and Joe was then brought in as a full-time member.

After two songs were completed and demo’d in George’s studio utilizing programmed drums, it was suggested by their friend Allyson Song River Jaynes, that they reach out to her friend, veteran drummer Chris Moore of Ultraphonix, Rock Of Ages, to see if he would be interested in working with the project. Upon hearing the strength of songwriting and musicianship of the band, Chris was all in and signed on as the fourth full-time member of STC and now the band was complete.

From day one Greg’s vision for STC was to feature various vocalists for each of the songs who would differentiate the sound and essence of each one, making them individually unique. Guest vocalists for the project have included: Charlie Berezansky (VEXES), Dan Caputo (Negative Sky), Chaka Malik (Orange 9mm, BURN) Jai Messina (Jai Diablo)(DragPipe, Stem), and Greg Christie (ElevenAfter, Nude Groove), and now Marcos Leal (III Nino).

Swim The Current’s sound is influenced and reminiscent of many of their favorite artists including, Deftones, Faith No More, Sevendust, POD, and Stabbing Westward. They continue to write new music and will have additional guest vocalists in their future releases.

The Pull of Autumn enter the 'Funhouse' ft. Luke 'Skyscraper' James of I.R.S. recording artist FASHION.

New 'Beautiful Broken World' LP features Mark Stewart, Adrian Sherwood, Doug Wimbish and Philip Parfitt

"A gem... A genuine and welcome earworm" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"Solid and innovative. Simultaneously upbeat and trippy, it has a very high feel-good vibe" ~ The Record Stache

"Better to travel well than to arrive... this band is not about merely travelling, this is exploration down the unbeaten paths of the glorious unknown" ~ The Swindonian

"Beautiful... Pure and simple. Lyrically emotional and thought-provoking. It has perfect instrumentation and musicality" ~ Spill Magazine

Art rock collective The Pull of Autumn have teamed up with Luke 'Skyscraper' James of I.R.S. recording artist FASHION on 'Funhouse', the latest offering from the collective's fourth album 'Beautiful Broken World', an ambitious 15-track undertaking that began in early 2020. James is a key player in The Pull of Autumn, having contributed to every album released to date.

Earlier, the band released 'Outlaw Empire' featuring The Pop Group legend Mark Stewart and bassist Doug Wimbish (Living Colour, Tackhead, The Rolling Stones, Sugarhill Gang), which was remixed by legendary producer Adrian Sherwood. That was followed by 'Live Today' with Tokyo dreamgazers Once Grace Forever.

This record involves a number of iconic artists, including Philip Parfitt of The Perfect Disaster, Stuart Moxham of Rough Trade postpunk band Young Marble Giants and John Neff, who has contributed to multiple David Lynch films and is also a member of David Lynch’s Blubob.

The Pull of Autumn is a ‘super group’ of sorts, with songs orbiting around Rhode Island artist Daniel Darrow of Johanna’s House of Glamour and involving numerous emerging and notable musicians from the local music scene and further abroad. The band's debut 2018 eponymous album was followed by 'Afterglow' in 2019 and 'Small Colors' in 2020.

"This song is about how people in rural communities used to have to wait a year for the circus/ carnival to come to town. Then it would be gone. As opposed to the oceans of distraction and "entertainment" that the human race currently wallows around in," says Luke 'Skyscraper' James.

Daniel Darrow adds, "For 'Funhouse', I wanted to add an inner-ear sound that would give the track an otherworldly sound. Luke is a fabulous writer and easily grasps many different sounds in sound design. We’ve been friends since 2018 and I’m glad we have a wonderful friendship as well as shared interest in all types of music."

'Beautiful Broken World' is out now, available across online stores and streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, as well as Bandcamp, where it can be obtained directly from the artist.

UK / French electronic-rock project The Noise Who Runs presents 'These Will Be Your Gods' EP

UK-France electronic rock duo The Noise Who Runs presents 'These Will Be Your Gods', the latest 4-track EP from these artists, following their third EP ‘High Time in Lo-Fi’ (released in May 2022).

The Noise Who Runs is the project of songwriter and performer Ian Pickering, who is perhaps best known as a member of and songwriter for 90s British trip hop outfit Sneaker Pimps, having co-written such hits as 'Spin Spin Sugar', '6 Underground' and 'Tesko Suicide'. He has also been keeping busy working on the new Sneaker Pimps album throughout 2020 and 2021.

Hailing from the North of England, Pickering launched this project in 2019, three years after he relocated to Lille in northern France. Today, The Noise Who Runs is essentially a duo of Pickering with Brazilian-born French guitarist Felipe Goes.

The Noise Who Runs is a direct, literal translation of ‘O bruit qui cour’, a French phrase used to mean ‘gossip’. It was also the name of Pickering’s favourite restaurant and exactly where he says all his ideas fell into place, the first time, which closed after struggling through Covid lockdowns.

With live performance plans shelved due to 2020 Covid restrictions, they instead released two EPs that year (‘The First of Two Sides of a Double-headed Coin’ and ‘The Other Side of the Same Double-headed Coin’).

The Noise Who Runs' essence chiefly lays in the shared principles and approach to making music of punk/new wave and early hip-hop - in terms of the mentality and the message. Musically, TNWR's indie rock is heavily shaped by the 1970's experimental electronic scene in Sheffield, the 1990's guitar-house mix of the Manchester scene, Primal Scream's guitar-electronic sound after 1997’s 'Vanishing Point', and 2000’s XTRMNTR.

“These four songs work perfectly in sequence - a perfect little trip, a 20-minute vacation from your day. 'How U R' is a noise-guitar fest with the guitars turned off, 'Cows Come Home' feels like an upbeat guitar-pop lullaby of sorts, 'Gods' would make a good scary soundtrack and 'Little Black Cloud' is two separate songs with the same chorus. It stuck together early and refused to be prised apart,” says Ian Pickering.

“It’s neither melancholy or angry. The truth of things makes people sad or angry or both, for whatever reason, and so they confront, or turn away, and things remain the same. How’s that working out for us really? So essentially, the EP says this is how it is, everyone knows it, why? If everyone knows it, how can it be this? Don’t get angrier, don’t get sadder, get smarter and join the dots…all the way to consumer capitalism, the embodiment of ‘gold is the root of all evil. It does it very beautifully and poetically, so that sweetens it all up.”

Opening track 'How U R' is fast-paced and rough, blasting off with the warning siren tested monthly in Lille. Inspired by 'The Last Word' by 19th Century English poet Matthew Arnold, it throws questions at the fairness of the deal in humanity, that things should be on a higher level than they are now and this current trajectory of all-out consumer capitalism.

'Cows Come Home' blends guitar pop and psychedelia without the feel-good lyrics. This is a call for solidarity if not harmony to try and create an existence that is less numbing and relentless for the majority of people. Title track 'These Will Be Your Gods' goes dark into the dangers of cults of personality, of populist leaders, petulant tech billionaires and desperately cloying celebrities, set against a sense of powerlessness.

Finally, the 8-minute indulgence of 'Little Black Cloud' is like something to wake up to on the last day of a festival. Tender and almost sweet in its melancholy, this take on aspirations and the force-feeding of perfection and how isolated and singular and angry things have become.

The 'These Will Be Your Gods' EP is out now, available via SpotifyApple Music and elsewhere. Music lovers can also expect the next single from The Noise Who Runs single to be released on February 14.

The Devil Wears Prada Share "Cancer" Video — WATCH

SONG LIVES ON NEW ALBUM COLOR DECAY OUT NOW VIA SOLID STATE

BAND TOURING WITH AUGUST BURNS RED THIS WINTER

The Devil Wears Prada — Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [vocals, guitar], Mason Nagy [bass], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synthesizers], and Giuseppe Capolupo [drums] — have shared the video for their new single "Cancer."

Watch it below.

The track lives on their eighth album Color Decay, out now via Solid State. Get it here.

"Lyrically, this song is about how many of the people I have looked up to and idolized have ended up committing suicide," says Gering. "It is something that has always made me question if I was on the right path in my own life. During the recording process, we learned of a another death, and I immediately assumed it was suicide. It ended up that this person had been secretly battling cancer for years, and for some reason, that made me feel relieved. The track addresses how messed up that thought process is and the guilt that comes along with it. The song and album end with the original iphone voice memo of when we were writing the song and it's pitched down because we changed the key."

TDWP will hit the road with August Burns Red next month. All dates are below.

ABOUT TDWP:
The Devil Wears Prada have been consistently delivering since forming in 2005. Fans voted 2009's seminal With Roots Above and Branches Below one of the 5 Greatest Metalcore Albums in a Revolver poll, with the magazine christening it "a true metalcore landmark." The group has notched six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including Dead Throne [2011], 8:18 [2013], Space EP [2015], Transit Blues [2016], The Act [2019], and ZII EP [2021]. The latter served as a sequel to one of their most beloved projects — 2010's Zombie EP. In the wake of the EP, the group exceeded a-quarter-of-a-billion cumulative streams and views. During 2021, the musicians decamped to remote hideaways together in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California. This time around, Jon took the reins as producer, collaborating closely to assemble a rich sonic architecture for what would become Color Decay.

Marko Hietala - Releases New Lyric Video For Track 'Dead God's Son'

On January 12th 2021, Marko Hietala announced his withdrawal from the public eye and departure from NIGHTWISH, where he had been the bass player and second vocalist for 20 years.

A lot of people wondered if we would ever see him return to the music world.
But Hietala has been busy, especially in his home-country Finland. He played some festival shows with his band in 2022 and performed with the Finnish all-star group NORTHERN KINGS. Before Christmas, he took part in the traditional “Raskasta Joulua” (“heavy Christmas”) tour and had a seriously good time performing on stage again.
Today, Hietala is pleased to release a new live footage/lyric video for his track 'Dead God's Son', taken from his 2020 studio album Pyre of the Black Heart, which was filmed throughout the recent festival season in Finland.

Marko Hietala stated about the song: “In ´Dead God’s Son´ we are in the infamous existential crisis. Everything hurts and everything is precious. Every direction is just as good and nothing will replace whatever has been lost. Like many others, I’ve been there. And you always go there alone.”

Check out the video here:

Marko and his bandmates are currently working on new material for their next album.
So far the title-less album is going down the same direction as the previous one: hard-prog with some groovy metal & rock with depth and melody.
Stay tuned & check his social media for updates!

We worked with Sitcom Soldiers for this music video, and shot in their studio in Bolton. It's the first time we brought in a new team, and didn't create the video ourselves DIY. We also had great fun dressing up in regal style outfits too.  Also, you'll notice we're lacking a bass player in the video... Benj's first child was actually born two days before the shoot so he had to miss out on this one!"

Since their debut self-release in 2019, PUNK ROCK FACTORY have been steadily gaining a colossal online fan base. The cultural sensations have already racked up over 26 million streams on Spotify and 5.1 million likes on TikTok, with 250,000 followers on Instagram, and over 11 million views on YouTube. No mean feat for a band you’ve never heard of (‘til now)!

ABOUT PUNK ROCK FACTORY:

PUNK ROCK FACTORY are the kings of turning any song into a pop punk masterpiece. The boisterous four-piece take all your favourite tracks and make them sound like you never quite imagined they could! No one is immune - these four lads from South Wales have adapted everything from Disney classics and assorted rock & pop hits to TV themes from across the decades.

The group rehearse, write, and record everything themselves in their own purpose-built studio in Wales, affectionately known as The Sausage Factory. They regularly include a wide range of special guests in their music, which have included the likes of actress/singer Jessica Darrow (Disney's Encanto), Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup), and Spencer Charnas (Ice Nine Kills) amongst others - next welcoming Simple Plan’s Jeff Stinco for a face-melting solo on "Waving Through A Window"(from ‘Dear Evan Hansen’).

With festivals practically queuing up to book them and all their headline shows continuing to sell out across the board too, don't miss an opportunity to catch them on stage if you can!

New album 'It's Just A Stage We're Going Through' is set for release on March 31.

NAUT Reveals New Song + Music Video for "Damocles"

Emerging U.K. post punk outfit NAUT will be releasing a brand new full length, 'Hunt,' on February 24, 2022 via Season of Mist, making it the band's debut to the label! The band is now sharing the second single, "Damocles," along with a music video! The clip can be found below.

NAUT comments, "With this third single from 'Hunt,' we wanted to demonstrate the other sounds that influence our music, outside of the hard rock and post-punk. 'Damocles' is a sprawling, slithering slow-build of a track, taking as much influence from the new romantics as it does gothic rock. It wasn't a conscious decision to make the song take this shape, instead we trusted our instincts and followed them to what we consider new ground for the band. Ground that we will no doubt return to in future.

The video's use of projected images blasted across a landscape marred by the pursuit of all that glitters, who's lights shine in the night like car headlights, quite literally make us a part of the city we call home. Filmed in the freezing cold January night, the creation process of this video perfectly reflects the song's message of a cold and uncaring world, one in which we must create our own fire and tread carefully, lest we fall from our path. One misstep and the blade swings free."

Pre-orders for 'Hunt' are now live HERE and the album can be pre-saved on streaming services HERE.

NAUT are a four piece drum machine rock band from Bristol, whose shared love of classic rock and metal, alongside reverence for the post-punk pioneers of the late 70s and early 80s makes itself known from the start. Triumphant synths and scything guitars entwine with danceable beats, while driving bass-lines, moving to pounding drums, create a dynamic and shifting rhythm section. The tracks pulse with a raw post-punk energy but always remain danceable and (perhaps most dangerously) catchy. The lyrics touch on mental paralysis, impending doom and divided peoples, and with the path our world is currently on they have become more relevant than ever.

Starting out as an evening sharing riffs in a flat in Bristol, the first tracks for NAUT had their genesis in 2016. Those first riffs, written by Gavin (vocals) & Jack (guitars) grew to become something much more compelling and after that initial moment, the idea of a band was born. Gathering musicians from Bristol’s small but active post-punk scene and armed with rough recordings, NAUTstarted working on the tracks as a full band in June 2017.

It all rapidly fell into place. NAUT's first show was in September 2017 followed by two shows supporting Grave Pleasures before the year was out, and they entered the studio the following November. Raise the Lights - their debut EP was recorded at RS Studios in Bristol by Jamie Elton (Moss, Amulet, Spite) and was mastered by Orgone Studios (Ulver, Grave Pleasures, Ghost). The final mastered tracks were ready in March 2018 and plans were put in motion for a June release of a debut EP that made people take notice. The intention was to break out into the world and NAUT did just that, with coverage in Kerrang! Magazine as well as a host of smaller blogs, publications and radio.

2018 saw more live shows with Abysmal Grief and David Eugene Edwards & Alexander Hacke as well as a sell out show in Bristol, and the start of some new material.

Not content to sit still, NAUT were soon ready to enter the studio again with new tracks written at the end of 2018, initially planned as a double A single, but growing into a 3 track EP. The song writing was rooted firmly in the foundations laid by Raise the Lights, but also broke new ground. With a solo in the title track Semele provided by Henrik Palm (Henrik Palm, ex-In Solitude, ex-Ghost) and the same winning combination of recording with Jamie Elton and Orgone Studios taking care of mastering duties the tracks were finished by April 2019.

The 'Semele' EP was released in November 2019 and was well-received. Featured in multiple high profile websites such as Louder, Vive le Rock, Distorted Sound and more, the EP helped establish NAUT on the scene as a band to watch.

Alongside this, NAUT played several more shows, including supporting post-punk legends Pink Turns Blue and playing the warmup show for Incineration Festival in London alongside Idle Hands.

'Threads' and 'Hand in Hand' were recorded in late 2019, building on the spirit of experimentation in the 'Semele' EP whilst calling on elements from Raise the Lights, creating a tantalising mix of the two. The songs were once again recorded by Jamie Elton with mastering handled by Orgone Studios.

During this time NAUT remained an active presence in the UK live scene, sharing the stage with bands as diverse as their fan base, from Discharge to Orange Goblin.

The end of 2019 also saw a change in NAUT’s format, with the departure of their drummer. NAUT had started life as a drum machine project before the addition of Kenny Selway for the debut EP, and after a string of changes, the obvious choice was to return to that format. This opened up new avenues for musical exploration, on and off stage.

With the spectre of a global pandemic looming large, in March 2020 NAUTplayed their last live appearance of that year in a sold out St Pancras Church in London with King Dude.

With that the world of live music went silent.

However NAUT remained active below the surface, 'Threads' and 'Hand in Hand' were released as a double A side 7” in June 2020. With this release NAUT further gained the attention of fans from across the spectrum of dark music. Word spread further around the scene adding fans to the ever growing following, with Hand in Hand featured in Kerrang! Magazine’s Kerrang! Rock Chart and a number of other high profile goth and post-punk playlists and the music video, creatively produced under the restrictions of a strict lockdown, garnering a strong reception.

Not content with releasing these new songs, work on a debut album was also underway. Over the long months of restrictions and lockdowns NAUT crafted the demos for their debut album, making the most of the dormant state of the music world, something special was being fashioned. The turmoil of 2020 also opened other opportunities and NAUT struck a partnership with Doomstar booking agency, ready for whenever the venues open.

Now NAUT are excited to have signed with Seasons of Mist for the release of their debut album. The label has come to represent all shades of musical darkness and feels like a strong pairing for NAUT, as although the band are less extreme in their musical approach, dark music in all its facets underlies all that they do.

NAUT can't wait to share this upcoming slab of infectious and pulsing drum machine rock with you all.

ABOUT FALLING IN REVERSE:
Platinum-selling rock band Falling In Reverse, lead by outspoken and charismatic singer Ronnie Radke, have been completely dominating the radio and streaming space in this new decade. The band, which formed back in 2008 and built itself as a mainstay of the Warped Tour scene while gracing many Alternative Press covers, has seen its latest single "Zombified" hit No. 1 Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart. The band has also been generating nearly 50 million total streams per month. Falling In Reverse's previous chart-topping single "Popular Monster" earned platinum RIAA status. The track is truly a juggernaut and is a watershed moment for the band. "Popular Monster" has been streamed nearly half-a-billion times and has emerged as one of the biggest anthems of the past several years. It enjoyed a multi-week stint at No. 1 on the rock radio charts, landing in the top spot on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart, Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Chart, and the Nielsen Rock Chart, and marked the first No.1 single of the band's career. It followed the gold certification of the band's 2011-released debut album The Drug in Me Is You and a sold-out anniversary tour. During the shutdown that was a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Radke quickly established himself as one of the most popular musicians streaming on the Twitch platform. In Winter 2022, the band returned to the road and embarked on the sold-out "Live From the Unknown" tour, further cementing its status as one of the top live draws in the genre. Falling In Reverse have continued to catch the eye of the press, with their career arc being spotlighted by top-tier, tastemaking publications such as Forbes, Billboard, New York Times, Pitchfork, and beyond.

SHOCK ROCK MOVIE FILMMAKERS RELEASE EXTENDED TRAILER

Shock Rock Movie directors, LORD ZANE (SOCIETY 1) and DAGON DESTROYER, have just released an extended trailer. The public can now watch 7 minutes and 25 seconds of footage now available on Youtube. Familiar faces you’ll see in the film’s trailer are DAVE NAVARRO, JACOBY SHADDIX (PAPA ROACH), KELLY CLARKSON, ALICE COOPER, and WAYNE STATIC (STATIC-X).

The film follows the life of MATT “THE LORD” ZANE, notorious front-man of SOCIETY 1, who is known for his extreme on-stage antics, including body suspension, live orgies, face humping hecklers, and stage masturbation. At one point, Matt Zane was the most famous porn director known for his Backstage Sluts films, which solds millions of copies worldwide. Matt Zane would go on to break several world records, including suspending from 4 meat hooks at Download Festival while he performed with his band in front of a hundred-thousand people.

DAGON DESTROYER (film co-director) comments, “Matt Zane is a character that has always fascinated me. The entertainment industry hates him, and yet celebrities use him for their careers. I’ve seen documentaries on shock rock and shocking performance artists, and Matt Zane is never mentioned. It’s like he’s purposely ignored in an attempt to erase him from history.”

MATT ZANE mentions in the film that the moral landscape is so different now than it was 20 years ago, and that he’s worried about how the band will be received during their 2023 reunion tour.

“The band is getting millions of views on TikTok for stage antics we just won’t replicate in today’s political climate. I know some things will cross the line but others I’m not so sure about. It’s difficult to know how far we’re going to be able to push it in 2023.”

A part of the movie will be filmed on SOCIETY 1’s tour with STATIC-X, FEAR FACTORY, and DOPE in 2023. The filmmakers are currently working with their distributor on the
film’s release date.

London indiepop artist Mari Dangerfield presents debut album 'Love And Other Machines' via Dimple Disc

"Instantly gripping that it draws you in completely, leaving its mark with no apologies... entire album is so artistically riveting, both technically and lyrically, that it takes you on the swells and waves of their journey" ~ Mobile Musician Magazine

“...truly catchy melodies and a stunning chorus (that is to die for) that will undoubtedly get stuck in your head” - American Pancake

“Definitely both melodic and somewhat quirky. It has an undeniable hook and a catchy synth melody” ~ Loudness

Rising London indie pop gem Mari Dangerfield will release her album 'Love And Other Machines', a collection of 12 catchy synth-driven alternative pop tunes, on CD via Dimple Discs on February 3. She also presents fun buoyant videos for the uber-catchy 'Screen Time', one of several songs on the album concerning technology and its effects, and the endearing and reverie-filled electro-ballad 'The Stars Were Wrong'.

Hailing from Ealing, West London, Mari Dangerfield is a multi-talented and colourful alternative / electronic pop artist, producer, writer and musician with a knack for fragile songs bursting with originality. Coining her sound "Quirkpop of the mind, body and laptop", her productions are characterised by rich vocal harmonies, catchy hooks and cinematic arrangements.

Broadly a concept album, 'Love And Other Machines' explores the connections between emotions and technology and is filled with love songs that use objects and gadgets as songwriting metaphors. She made her first appearance on the music scene after winning a Mute Records video competition.

Building on a string of self-released singles and videos since 2018, she has been able to build a devoted audience, both online and for her unique live shows. Already something of a polymath, she records, arranges and produces all her own material, as well as designing the visual content for artwork, new media and video. She’s also known for re-popularising the Stylophone, which features in her early singles and her live set.

Thematically, many of the songs are connected to technology (whether from exhaustion of its use or anguish from the way it highlights loneliness, dependency or one's psychological condition), with other songs about love and relationships. 'Love Machine' is the anchor that binds those themes tightly together, exploring how love can be a mechanical process (certainly on the biological and psychological side of things). 'Coping Mechanism''Virtually', 'Screen Time' and 'Webcam' continue this exploration.

“This album is so much more than just a collection of songs to me – It’s a sort of record of the first few years of my career, and an even longer period of my life. It reveals so much about me, personally and professionally. It feels like my artist's palette has been formed. If you really listen to these songs, you can get to know me on quite a deep level. There’s a lot of my reality embedded within the concept and the stories. I would have been lost without making music. It saved my mental wellbeing,” says Mari Dangerfield.

This album is as diverse in sound as it feels in how it’s travelled with me as I’ve developed as an individual over the past three years: No song sounds the same and, as I’m sure you’ll agree, it feels like I’m in a very different place at the end from where I was when it began. Undeniably, some of the songs delve into some quite personal struggles of mine and were inspired by my time in therapy between 2015 and 2018, as I came out of some incredibly dark places. I was so lucky to have been gifted all this time to learn about myself and my inner wounds, and not only improve as a person, but to be left with the tools to continue to reflect on my struggles, as undoubtedly, they would and do return in different guises."

As of February 3, 'Love And Other Machines' will be available both on CD and digitally. It can be ordered via Bandcamp or elsewhere from all fine online music platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.
