Left to Suffer Unleash New Single + Music Video "Snake"

Atlanta, GA nu-deathcore outfit Left to Suffer has released their latest single and music video, "Snake". Co-written with Three Days Grace's Neil Sanderson and produced by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson, today's drop is the first release since the band's latest EP, 'And Dying Forever'. Speaking on working with Sandersonand Benson, the band shares:

"Listening to Three Days Grace in our parents’ cars growing up was one of each of our first real introductions to music. Something that led all 5 of us to Slipknot and Korn, then eventually to whole deathcore/metalcore scenes. It’s safe to say we wouldn’t be here without them. So when Neil Sanderson, the band’s drummer, and main songwriter DM’d us on IG at the beginning of the year saying he was a super fan of ours we were in total shock. Then he told us that both he and super producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, etc) wanted to work with us on some songs and our minds were completely blown. There’s absolutely no way we could say no."

Neil Sanderson commented:

Howard Benson and I had been talking about how he and I wanted to make a few legit metal records. Howard, Johnny Lee Andrews and I were working on Three Days Grace and some other things, and I said to Johnny, "Hey man what’s the coolest heaviest metal band in Atlanta?" (where he lives), and he said, "Left to Suffer, no doubt." So I reached out to them and now here we are all working together.

Howard Benson said:

"Working with LTS was amazing.. they bring it on every take! We are stoked to have them release their music on Judge & Jury Records and hope we can do more work with them in the future!"

ARMORED DAWN Returns with Triumphant New Single & Music Video, “S.O.S.”! Upcoming Album, 'Brand New Way,'

Brazilian Progressive Metal band ARMORED DAWN has blazed back onto the scene with their single and music video, “S.O.S.”. Written by Carolina Angeli and the group's former drummer, Rodrigo Oliveira*, "S.O.S." portrays the feelings of a person suffering with depression, who isolation with their pain, believing that no one will ever understand their feelings or what is happening to her.

Mixed by Chris Lord Alge (Muse, Green Day, Nickelback) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Metallica), "S.O.S.: shows a great evolution in the band's sound. The composition, while bringing the characteristic identity that marked the sound of ARMORED DAWN, expands horizons and will surprise those who have somehow missed the band's work.

The music video for “S.O.S.” was directed by Kahue Rozzi, from SimonSays Filmes. The video shows the meeting of different facets and personalities and the inner child of this lonely and depressive character, who is both the heroine and the villain of her own story.

The current lineup of Armored Dawn, which includes Eduardo Parras (vocals), Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski (guitars), Heros Trench (bass), Rafael Agostino (keyboards) and Chris Oliveira (drums), continues to work on future releases.

Purchase / Stream "S.O.S" Online

The band's upcoming album, Brand New Way, was produced and recorded at the renowned Dharma Studios, in São Paulo, by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, mixed by Chris Lord-Alge and mastered by Ted Jensen, two top names in North American music production. Acclaimed since the 1980s, having won 5 Grammys, Chris Lord-Alge has worked with some of the world's greatest music legends such as James Brown, Prince, Joe Cocker, and Tina Turner, as well as legendary soundtracks such as Rocky IVand Batman.

Sound engineer Ted Jensen, renowned for his work at the renowned Sterling Sound studio, has mastered albums by the Eagles, Jean Michel Jarre, Santana, and Norah Jones, for which he received a Grammy in 2002. In the heaviest fields of music, he worked on the most recent albums by The Pretty Reckless, Death by Rock & Roll, and Death Magnetic, by Metallica, as well as albums by bands such as Korn, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, and Papa Roach.

Create a concept, find the right partners, work to make it all cohesive and invest in the potential to pursue your goals. From this perspective, Armored Dawn appeared in 2014 and became relevant in the Brazilian metal scene. After all, they toured alongside great bands such as Saxon, Megadeth, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Europe, Hammerfall, Rhapsody, Fates Warning, Sabaton, Tarja, in addition to participating in the Motörboat, the cruise of the legendary Motörhead.

The first two albums, Power of Warrior (2016) and Barbarians in Black (2018), were produced by important professionals such as Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Jorn), Bruno Agra (We Are Harlot) and Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach). The third, Viking Zombie, was produced, mixed and mastered by Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, who is a veteran producer, with more than 200 bands under his belt and a Latin Grammy winner.

Presenting a sophisticated and versatile metal, the group collects great works in music videos, such as the super production “Sail Away” and “Beware of the Dragon”, shown in all movie theaters in Brazil during the trailers for the movie Aquaman. Besides them, “Ragnarok” and “Animal Uncaged” (recorded at the Rockfest Festival, at Allianz Parque, São Paulo, when they played to around 37,000 people) have millions of views on YouTube.

During the pandemic, they released the single “Stronger Together”, which was very well accepted by the fans. The fourth album in Armored Dawn's career is currently being produced by the band.

Belgian Rockers BLACK MIRRORS Premiere Grunge-Inspired New Single "Lost In Desert" & Music Video!

New Album, 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us',

out November 4, 2022 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order HERE

November 4, 2022 will see Brussels-based rock act BLACK MIRRORS return with their new masterpiece and sophomore studio album, entitled 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us', releasing via Napalm Records.

Are we killing our own planet? No, BLACK MIRRORS don’t believe that we as humans have the power to destroy mother earth. However, as the album cover below portrays, it’s clear who will end up burning – all living creatures, us. 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us' is a clear statement impacting every single one of us living on our planet.

As the album’s first single,Hateful Hate, I’ll Kill You”, has already showcased, 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us' pushes the band’s fuzz pedals to the max, delivering powerful rock anthems you can’t help but move and groove to, yet perfectly proving BLACK MIRRORS’ unforced, versatile and organic talent.

Today, the band fronted by extraordinary vocalist Marcella Di Troia releases a brand-new single - the crisp, grunge-esque juggernaut "Lost In Desert"!

BLACK MIRRORS about the new single:

“For this song, Pierre found the inspiration in the Tabernas desert in Spain. Years ago, we shot the video of Moonstone there and the hugeness of the area inspired the mood of Lost in Desert.

This song is about going somewhere else when you don't feel you belong where you are anymore. It's about going to a place where it's vast. A place where you are going back to your roots, what you truly are. It's about finding an asylum where there's nothing but an open space to think, a place for introspection and to find yourself again."

Watch the new BLACK MIRRORS music video for Lost In Desert

“The faceless people idea is inspired by 'People are Strange' by The Doors.“ says the band about the new video. “When you're down, everyone appears wicked and scary, and you just want to avoid them. You want to find a place to hide, an asylum per se.

Marcella comments about the buzzard: “I always felt close to buzzards, I always find solace when I hear them and see them in the sky. They bring me hope and light in bad times and help me take some distance with my issues. That’s why I wanted to have one in our video.”

In 2017, BLACK MIRRORS took the world by storm with the debut of their awe-inspiring 'Funky Queen' EP. Feverishly acclaimed live appearances and a powerful festival showcase later, the band quickly inked a worldwide deal with leading rock and metal empire Napalm Records, soon gaining further praise with the release of their first full-length album, 'Look Into The Black Mirror'. Continuing to exceed expectations, the unstoppable BLACK MIRRORS have now crafted one of rock’s leading highlights of 2022 – their upcoming release, 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us'!

BLACK MIRRORS’ second outing is a deep, soulful and vividly textured 90's inspired rock record with umpteen layers begging to be picked apart with each spin, and lyrically, traverses humankind’s increasing apathy towards the world around them. The grunge-infused guitar lines meld in harmony, giving way to memorable riffs, rhythmic gems, big grooves and the addictive, beautifully unchained vocals of Di Troia. The album fluxes from fierce and blustery to often gentle and calming, channeling the flavor of MTV’s glory era showcasing acts such as Nirvana, Radiohead, Hole, Alain Johannes, Alice In Chains and beyond.

Contrary to the album’s title and its evocative themes about today’s society and a world falling apart, tomorrow does belong to BLACK MIRRORS – there is no doubt they will own the next decade, providing us with the finest in heavy rock and melodic grunge grandeur the world of tomorrow unconditionally needs.

"Like all of us, we had to go through a lot during these past years. 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us' is our answer to all the questions we had during that time, our reflection on the ecological catastrophe we're all witnessing, our thoughts on our consumerist society...", the band recently explained. "Writing these songs gave us the strength to go forward and to heal us, it was our catharsis. We deeply hope it will bring you some light in these dark times."

Together with the touch of worldwide-acclaimed producer Alain Johannes (Eagles Of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, No Doubt), BLACK MIRRORShave reset the bar to unexpected heights, and their new album promises to leave its mark on today’s rock scene worldwide!

One can be sure, the music world of tomorrow would be a lonely place without BLACK MIRRORS, and 'Tomorrow Will Be Without Us' locks them at the top!

New York City has always served as a cultural epicenter for musical innovation. Even more so than incubating genres in their infancy such as hardcore and even glam metal, for which bands like Twisted Sister and KISS long set the stage before the Sunset Strip took the reigns, the empire state has a storied and unique history of taking genres whose roots lie elsewhere and making them its own; whether it be Anthrax reinventing Bay Area thrash, Suffocation and Immolation planting their flag as death metal purveyors at a time when it was a primary export of Florida, or bands like Blondie and the Ramones rivaling the British punk scene, the city has always been at the forefront of musical excellence. And when it comes to New York’s answer to black metal, Black Anvil have not only been a driving force for USBM, but have taken the black metal genre as a whole and made it entirely their own. Now, with full-length number five, the band has once again leveled up their game, presenting a “regenesis” of black metal.

Here you have 12 tracks of unrelenting yet thought provoking evil, sure to have you take a second & thoroughly re-examined view of what you thought black metal was supposed to be. “This is a more stripped down and aggressive song writing approach. Having time to digest ‘As Was,’ to understand where we were then versus where we are now was key. We always focus inward with our writing, never wanting to repeat ourselves, while also not losing our identity in a stretch to sound different,” explains Black Anvil bassist/vocalist P.

Challenging the norm has always been a core part of Black Anvil’s DNA since their formation in 2007. Upon the release of their debut full-length, Time Insults the Mind, the band quickly garnered the attention of Relapse Records and were presented with a deal. When it came to album number two, the band diverged from the typical approach of their contemporaries and sought an unlikely counterpart to render their vision, tapping engineer “General” George Fullan (The Rolling Stones, Dream Theater) at Mark “The Animal” Mendoza’s (Twisted Sister) Diamond Drop Studio on Long Island, NY. Released in September 2010, sophomore offering Triumvirate received much critical acclaim, notably being revered as an "all-around monster metal album."

Four years after its release, Triumvirate was followed by Hail Death, a 70-minute journey of intensity that further established Black Anvil as a modern black metal powerhouse. The album was met with praise by publications including Noisey, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Metal Injection, and many more. With the album’s success, the band’s profile rose as they were tapped to participate in numerous prominent tours with black metal legends such as Mayhem, Watain, Urfaust, Marduk as well as dates with Aura Noir, Nachtmystium, Immortal, Eyehategod, Cannibal Corpse, etc. Additionally, the band has appeared at various prestigious festivals including the Scion Rock Fest, Beyond The Gates in Bergen, Norway and the renowned Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.

In 2017, Black Anvil dropped their fourth studio-album, As Was. Atmospheric and melodic without relenting on any of the ferocity that the collective has always been known for, As Was seamlessly weaves through eight monumental passages of extreme metal art, more diverse, complex, and thought-provoking than anything they've done before. The record proved itself to be a stellar representation of modern black metal and of Black Anvil’s continuous progression and songcraft.

Now, nearly six years after As Was made its mark, Black Anvil is returning with its aptly titled fifth full-length, Regenesis. With a new record label, a new album, and a newfound exploration of dark and black metal, Regenesisrepresents a new dawn for the New York City collective. “The concept is renewal, as well as the process/journey to get here outgrowing our past,” explains P. “Black Anvil has always been a departure from our past, a vehicle for us to grow as individuals, like a snake constantly shedding its skin. We don’t look  back, but never forget.”

Make no mistake, Regenesis is not a departure from Black Anvil’s identity, but rather serves as the latest progression in the band’s ever-evolving sound. The record takes what As Was did best and does it even better. The unrelenting and polished aggression hangs in the balance above dark melodic passages, presenting a dynamic soundscape that serves as the band’s most devastating and existential offering to date. As it’s evident that the band pulls inspiration from unlikely corners, they defy all genre standards and make one thing clear - this isn’t just black metal, this is NYBM.

Loretta Lynn’s Family Statement and Obituary

Country superstar Loretta Lynn passed peacefully in her sleep early this morning, Tuesday, October 4, at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Lynn was 90.

Over the course of her 60-year career, the famous native of Butcher Hollow, Ky. amassed a staggering 51 Top 10 hits, garnered every accolade available in music from GRAMMY awards to induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and broke down barriers for women everywhere with songs like “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind),” “Fist City” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Thanks to the Oscar-winning 1980 film Coal Miner’s Daughter starring Sissy Spacek, Lynn’s story and songs were brought to an even wider audience, amplifying her impact on several generations of songwriters and artists in various genres including Jack White, with whom Lynn made the GRAMMY-winning 2004 album Van Lear Rose.

Throughout her 80s, Loretta continued to write new songs and, in 2016, returned to the charts with the GRAMMY-nominated Full Circle, the first in a series of critically acclaimed albums produced by her daughter, Patsy Lynn Russell, and John Carter Cash at Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tenn. She followed up with the seasonal classic White Christmas Blue (2016) and 2018’s GRAMMY-nominated Wouldn't It Be Great, a combination of newly written songs and fresh interpretations of her catalog. In 2021, the American music icon released Still Woman Enough, a celebration of women in country music; her 50th studio album (not including her ten studio duet collaborations with Conway Twitty), Still Woman Enough featured a title track co-written with Patsy Lynn Russell and a deeply emotional “Coal Miner's Daughter Recitation,” commemorating the 50th anniversary of the release of Lynn’s signature song (October 5, 1970) and album (January 4, 1971).

Lynn’s music and achievements were repeatedly recognized by all of the major awards bodies. She joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1962, won four GRAMMY awards, seven American Music Awards and eight Country Music Association awards. She was the first woman to win the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards for Entertainer of the Year. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008, and was awarded the Kennedy Center Honors in 2003 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013. She sold over 45 million albums worldwide.

Lynn was pre-deceased by her husband of 48 years Oliver Vanetta “Doolittle” Lynn, her daughter Betty Sue Lynn and son Jack Benny Lynn. She is survived by her daughters Patsy Lynn Russell, Peggy Lynn, Clara (Cissie) Marie Lynn and her son Ernest Ray Lynn as well as grandchildren Lori Lynn Smith, Ethan Lyell, Elizabeth Braun, Tayla Lynn, Jack Lynn, Ernest Ray Lynn Jr., Katherine Condya, Alexandria Lynn, Jasyntha Connelly, Megan Horkins, Anthony Brutto, Jason Lynn, Wesley Lynn, Levi Lynn, Emmy Rose Russell, David Russell, Lucca Marchetti and step grandchildren David Greer, Jennafer Russell, Melody Russell and Natalie Rapp, and her great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Loretta Lynn Foundation. Information about a memorial service/celebration of life will be made available at a later date. For more information, visit LorettaLynn.com.

“Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills.”

– The family of Loretta Lynn

The family has asked for privacy during this time, as they grieve. An announcement regarding a memorial will be forthcoming in a public announcement.

ABORTED Sign With Nuclear Blast Records + Announce New Single "Infinite Terror"

On a moonless night, metal powerhouse NUCLEAR BLAST dared to gaze into the pitch black abyss and summoned one of the most vicious and menacing forces roaming the European death metal scene to join their ranks. Today, both of them are proud to announce that ABORTED have inked a contract with NUCLEAR BLAST!

The true scenario behind the signing of this outstanding genre pioneer might have been a bit less dramatic but the promise of an exciting future remains.

ABORTED have announced their first single right in time for the kick-off of their North American Tour with Lorna Shore. "Infinite Terror" will come to haunt your dreams, destroy your ears and musically seal the devilish deal that NUCLEAR BLAST and ABORTED have closed to spread the word of brutal death metal all around the world!

Sven de Caluwé (vocals) comments:
"We couldn’t be more excited to announce our signing to NUCLEAR BLAST — one of the premier labels for extreme music with tons of label mates we love. We are very excited to see where this mad caravan leads to next! After a very long and solid partnership with Century Media, it was time for us to try something new.

To celebrate our signing with NUCLEAR BLAST and the upcoming monster of a tour with our friends Lorna Shore, Ingested and more, we decided to unleash a new single. “Infinite Terror” will obliterate all your senses on October 19. The song is inspired by ‘Event Horizon’ and marks the debut of new guitarist Dan Konradsson (Ophidian I, Une Misère). Expect something dark, imposing, and HEAVY as fuck!"

Jaap Wagemaker, A&R Nuclear Blast Europe, adds:
"NUCLEAR BLAST is very excited to announce the signing of brutal death metal maniacs ABORTED.

ABORTED is one of the pioneers of the genre. Originally founded in Belgium, they have come a long way from the death/grind underground to creating a very successful, unique brand of horror-themed, cinematic extreme metal that’s highly compatible with today’s tech death and deathcore scenes. ABORTED have influenced a lot of bands worldwide, and for many bands being invited to go on tour with ABORTED meant the start of a successful career. ABORTED worked on their status even more by releasing classics such as The Necrotic Manifesto and Retrogore which somehow managed to surpass that album and showcased what the band is capable of: lifting death metal to a higher level of intensity, atmosphere and brutality.

NUCLEAR BLAST and ABORTED are looking forward to keep pushing the boundaries of high class brutal death metal together in the future!"

About ABORTED:

With their horror-themed, cinematic extreme metal, ABORTED have mastered a dark craft that’s tough to compete with. The Belgian band has been dominating the world of death metal since vocalist Sven de Caluwé formed the band 26 years ago. As the lone original member, he’s directed the band like a demented conductor.

ABORTED are shapeshifters, evolving from blazing deathgrind to groovier fare before settling into a technical approach on death metal.

Their ability to compose and perform an uncompromising mix of death metal and grindcore, complemented with provocative artwork and merchandise designs, has allowed ABORTED to become an essential pioneer of the extreme metal scene over the course of their career, that has seen them release 11 successful full-length albums since the mid-Nineties.

Despite the seemingly sinister image that’s portrayed by the bands wildly heavy, gore-fueled music, ABORTED have actively supported charity campaigns throughout their career. They’ve donated parts of their merchandise income to “National Alliance To End Homelessness”, teamed up with other bands to launch a shirt to benefit the Ukrainian war refugees and have also been a long term member of “Metalheads Against Racism”.

With their latest album ManiaCultABORTED entered the German charts at #33 and US Current Hard Music Albums at #7, while Retrogore charted at #4 of ‘Top New Artists’ on the Billboard Charts and TerrorVision entered the US Billboard Charts at #4 (Heatseeker) and #9 (Current Hard Music). After releasing music and playing worldwide tours for almost 30 years, they still push musical boundaries and managed to endlessly re-invent themselves.

ABORTED are:
Sven de Caluwé - vocals
Ian Jekelis - guitars
Daniel Konradsson - guitars
Stefano Franceschini - bass
Ken Bedene - drums

About POWERWOLF:

The story of POWERWOLF, beginning in 2004, reads like a true fairytale, but is the result of the efforts of one of the most hard-working and entertaining live band on the heavy metal planet. POWERWOLF have secured a remarkable collection of gold and platinum awards, starting in 2015, when they reached Gold status for the first time in the Czech Republic with their album, Blessed & Possessed. Additionally, both Preachers Of The Night (2013) and the subsequent masterpiece The Sacrament Of Sin (2018), as well as the groundbreaking streaming event The Monumental Mass: A Cinematic Metal Event (2022), entered the German album and DVD charts at #1 (a massive achievement for an audio-visual release). The thrilling DVD, The Metal Mass, (2016) also secured the #1 spot on the German DVD charts,. Most recently, the new studio album, Call Of The Wild, entered the album charts at #2 (and staying for 16 weeks in the charts) while the hit single "Dancing With The Dead" went gold and platinum. The Best Of album, Best Of The Blessed, released in 2020, also successfully entered the German charts at #2. POWERWOLF achieved massive success as they headlined large venues with their phenomenal stage performances on the almost completely sold out Wolfsnächte headline tour (2019), as well as numerous summer festival shows in which crowds were thrilled and completely captivated by the wolves and their unique, (un)holy metal mass. Beyond many others, they’ve also headlined Wacken, Masters Of Rock, Summer Breeze – all massive live successes.  Once POWERWOLF performs the new studio album, Call of the Wild, live at Europe’s largest venues on their upcoming Wolfsnächte 2022 headlining tour – and, for the first time ever, at their long-awaited debut North American shows in 2023 – the whole world will be completely under the sign of the wolfpack once again!

Since its formation in 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland, WORMHOLE has been spearheading the tech slam movement, introducing strong melodies, technical prowess, and virtuosity to hard-hitting brutal death metal. In October 2015, and in 2016 WORMHOLE released their aptly titled debut album “Genesis” on Lacerated Enemy Records.

With influences drawn from Necrophagist, Abominable Putridity, and Beyond Creation, WORMHOLE has been described as “monumental” and “monstrous”, with “ferocious slams” that “bludgeon listeners senseless”.

In December 2017, WORMHOLE made their incendiary live debut. In 2018, they partnered with Vulvodynia on a tour of Europe, and in 2019 joined the infamous yearly Tech Trek tour with death metal giants ARCHSPIRE, INFERI, and VIRVUM.

“The Weakest Among Us”, released in January 2020, WORMHOLE is bridging the gap between brutality and virtuosity and pushing the boundaries of what a death metal band can be.

WORMHOLE will release their third album in 2023 via Season of Mist.

Sumerian Records Announce Partnership With The Penthouse As Part Of Sumerian Music Group

Leading independent rock label, Ash Avildsen’s Sumerian Records has announced a joint venture with Jonnie Forster’s The Penthouse, dubbed The Penthouse South. With a focus on Nashville sounds, the first release is Willacoochee, Georgia’s RVSHVD, already a streaming juggernaut with over 100 million streams across platforms and 1.3 million organic TikTok followers.

Forster explains,

“The Nashville community has welcomed us since the day we arrived. We wanted to double down to expand, bringing more opportunities to outlier talent that have unique voices and stories to tell. The fact that Sumerian has built their reputation on this vision and same “no B.S.” attitude, we couldn’t be more energized to launch The Penthouse South with Ash and his team.”

Avildsen adds,

“What Jonnie has built with his artists, producers, and songwriters at The Penthouse is simpatico with Sumerian- a punk attitude with a family spirit, championing unique voices while crossing genre lines. What we have done with Sumerian in the rock, alternative and metal realms, we see The Penthouse doing with southern music. I am thrilled to partner with another creative label owner who understands nothing is more exciting than passionate originality. “

The new label's first release is the RVSHVD single "Cottonmouth," with its brand new video premiere today. Watch below:

Miranda Lambert Brings "Strange" Performance to ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Tomorrow 10/4

MIRANDA LAMBERT BRINGS “STRANGE” PERFORMANCE TO ABC’S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! TOMORROW, OCT. 4

Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency Continues to Thrill Through Second Week

As Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency continues to earn rave reviews through the second week of shows, reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and current CMA triple-nominee Miranda Lambert returns to the stage at ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! tomorrow, Oct. 4, for a performance of her current single, “Strange.”

The anthem of timely encouragement follows recent Top 10 hit “If I Was A Cowboy,” the 15th of her career, as the second single off Lambert’s latest hit album, Palomino, already named one of the best of the year by TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum and more.

Stereogum describes the track honored with the “Disc of the Day” award from MusicRow as “a bluesy ramble about treating yourself right in an uncertain moment” – a fitting description for a song written by Lambert together with Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby during the height of 2020:

Have a smoke, buy a round
Get on a jet liner going anywhere bound
Pick a string, sing the blues
Dance a hole in your shoes
Do anything to keep you sane
‘Cause times like these make me feel strange

“‘Strange’ is permission to just let go for a sec,” reflects Lambert. “We were really wanting the chorus to lift – literally and emotionally – and go into a happy place. It’s such a song for the time that we’re in right now, but it doesn’t feel like it won’t matter in 10 years, either.”

The single is the latest offering from the L.A. Times’ “Queen of Country Music,” whose 2022 was already packed with accolades even before the kickoff of her Velvet Rodeo residency. Following her ACM Entertainer of the Year win earlier this year, the Texas native was also named as the only country artist on the TIME100 List of the World’s Most Influential People, a distinguished group of individuals honored for their impact, innovation and achievement.

Designed exclusively for Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and promoted by Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment, Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency gives fans an up close and personal opportunity to experience live performances of Lambert’s numerous chart-topping songs and beloved album cuts. Tickets for shows through April 9, 2023 are on sale now at ticketmaster.com/mirandavegas, with shows scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

About Miranda Lambert
Palomino, the eighth solo album from Vanner Records/RCA Nashville superstar Miranda Lambert, arrived in April as the largest female Country album debut of 2022. Already named among the best albums of the year by TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum and more, it marks the latest installment in a storied career that has spanned seven previous No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 hit radio singles, more than 70 prestigious awards and countless sales certifications, earning the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year praise from NPR as “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

With her headlining Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency now underway at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Zappos Theater, the top streaming female Country artist of 2022 was also named to the 2022 TIME100 list honoring the world’s most influential people, with Pitchfork declaring that she “manages the hat-trick of both timelessness and timely activism.” Whether challenging conventional gender notions in her recent Top 10 hit “If I Was A Cowboy” or using her voice to write and record the inclusive “Y’All Means All” anthem for the latest season of Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” the Texas native continues to expand the tent of the Country genre via her music, including current single “Strange.”

In addition to Palomino, the celebrated singer/songwriter’s lauded discography includes Wildcard (2019), The Weight of These Wings (2016), Platinum (2014), Four The Record (2011), Revolution (2009), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2007) and Kerosene (2005). She has also released three albums with her trio, the Pistol Annies, as well as 2021’s GRAMMY-nominated The Marfa Tapes, a raw and intimate recording with collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall.

The most decorated artist in the history of the Academy of Country Music, Lambert has earned 38 ACM Awards (including a record-setting nine consecutive Female Artist of the Year Awards), 14 CMA Awards, three GRAMMY Awards, the Nashville Symphony Harmony Award, ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award and ACM Song of the Decade Award, plus was named 2019’s RIAA Artist of the Year and was the youngest artist ever to serve as the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s Artist in Residence.

Her clothing and cowboy boot collection, Idyllwind, is a private-label brand sold at all Boot Barn stores nationwide and her home goods collection, Wanda June, is available now at Walmart.com. An avid animal lover, Lambert’s MuttNation pet product line is available exclusively at Tractor Supply Co. with proceeds benefitting her MuttNation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that has raised over $6 million since its inception in 2009. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the adoption of rescue pets, support animal shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster.

Her Shadow Release Single "Devil Inside"

New Album 'Ghost Love Chronicles'

Arrives November 11th!

Her Shadow offers dreamy pop music with moonlight melodies, heavenly hooks and Lynchian twists. The ethereal soundscapes come to life in a dream noir universe oozing with catchy choruses, Morricone motifs and vintage sounds interweave with state-of-the-art production.

Today, they release "Devil Inside" the second single from their upcoming album 'Ghost Love Chronicles' to be release November 11th via Svart Records.

"When writing this song, I set myself a challenge: how many chords could the progression go through before it returns to the start? I made it to ten. As with most good ideas, I came up with the vocal melody to the chorus in the shower. Anna Carolina's vocal delivery, soft as cotton candy, gave the cake a proper Lynchian coating", comments songwriter Tomi Henttunen.

"I find the contrast between the soft doo-wop vocals and the brutal lyrics very captivating. This is one of my favorites on the album", says lyricist Laakso

The birth of Her Shadow was inevitable. Old friends, guitarist-songwriter Tomi Henttunen(Royal Lips) and keyboardist-lyricist Laakso (Kuolemanlaakso) had a versatile but very different background in making music but a shared obsession with Twin Peaks and Lana Del Rey. The original idea in 2016 was to combine the best of both worlds and spice up the mix with film noir and dream-like elements – to make music that they love but had never done before.

They recruited the enigmatic singer Anna Carolina (Royal Lips), drummer extraordinaire Toni Ronkainen (Kuolemanlaakso) and producer-engineer Jaani Peuhu (Swallow the Sun, Lord of the Lost etc.), and recorded a four-song demo. They instantly got signed to Svart Records and started working on their debut album. After five long years of hard work, it is finally ready to be released upon the world.

Pre-Order 'Ghost Love Chronicles' HERE

As they say, good things come to those who wait and 'The Ghost Love Chronicles' will be released November 11, 2022. The album was produced by musical and visual mastermind Henttunen, mixed by Sampsa Väätäinen (Ismo Alanko, Neøv etc.) and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost, Paradise Lost, Opeth etc.) at the world renowned Orgone Studios.

The songs range from the mellow Motown mood of "Fifth Season" to the modern pop banger "Kinda Love You", from the Morricone-inspired "Vigilante" to the nightmarish haunted house thriller "What Hides in the Dark" and from eerie playfulness of "White Lane" to ghoulishly beautiful "Devil Inside". It remains to see, if 'The Ghost Love Chronicles" will grow into a hit album or a cult classic, but it sure has the potential for both.

Check Out THEM DAMN KINGS DEBUT ALBUM 'RISE UP'!

Fast rising Georgia based hard rock / metal band THEM DAMN KINGS have released their debut album RISE UP today. The album features the tracks "Throw It Away" and "Yesterday" which were released to US metal radio last year, and saw the band conquer the national Metal Contraband radio charts.

THEM DAMN KINGS is the hard rock wrecking machine created by guitarist / multi-instrumentalist / vocalist Jef Rhodes. Jef is a long time professional Front Of House engineer, and backline tech who has over two decades of international touring experience with such bands as: Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Highly Suspect, Lacuna Coil, Watain, Mayhem, and others.

Enlisting former Lacuna Coil drummer Ryan Folden, the pair have recorded RISE UP, a monster of a debut album that sounds both new and exciting - while simultaneously reminding listeners of that golden age of the early ‘90s when Hard Rock, Metal, and Grunge ruled the late night rock clubs of the world.

After two damn years I’m excited and proud to finally announce our album Rise Up is available for your listening displeasure. I’m beyond excited for you guys to finally hear the full record!” says Rhodes. “Rise Up” is just a starting point for us bastardizing Rock n’ Roll with our own heavy-handed spin on it. The riffs are flowing! And even as you’re reading this I’ve already started writing the next album.”

A debut single, "Throw It Away," was released in October 2020. “It was the first song written for the record. It makes me wanna get on a motorcycle and ride even though the song has nothing to do with that.” says Jef. “It’s about tossing away your fears in an abstract sort of way.” The track was quickly followed by anthemic ‘Yesterday’ which garnered the band their first international radio play, and media support.

Having most recently toured the US as support to Gemini Syndrome, the band are currently in the planning stages of further live dates to support the album’s release.

Rhodes continues, “Through all the Rock n’ Roll craziness, the sweat, the tears, the blood, the broken vans, and not knowing how the band is actually going to get to the next gig, I still wake up every day wanting to do this, needing to do this!”

Chronologically speaking, while Graham Brooks falls into the generational social construct known as “the millennial,” in actuality the Barishi guitarist/vocalist is an old soul, wise and talented beyond his years. Sure, he’s got an all-in-one cellular device in his pocket like just about everyone else on the planet, but you’ll rarely find him obsessively staring into it unless necessary. He was scouring used book and record stores for classics long before it was deemed cool by the hipsters of his cohort and when it comes time to actually listening to his vinyl finds – instead of mounting them for show or posting “Look at what I bought” online missives – he prefers lengthy, involved and protracted pieces of music in direct opposition to the quick fixes required to sate the miniscule attention spans of kids these days.

Furthermore, when Brooks’ name comes up in conversation, a soon-to-be classic yarn quickly follows: last year, he was asked to provide a guest spot solo record on Cable’s Take the Stairs to Hell album. Instead of utilizing modern and available technology and facelessly recording and emailing in his contribution, the worryingly tall gentle giant drove five hours non-stop from his home in central Vermont to a Boston recording studio, laid down his solo in a matter of minutes then almost immediately got back in his car and drove the five hours home. Without a hint of self-consciousness or ironic arrogance, he’ll divulge, “I definitely have an interest in old stuff. I guess people would call me an atavist. I like to read about archeology and history and old empires and stuff like that. I remember hearing someone talk about the fleeting nature of smoke and its age throughout time and that seemed interesting to me.”

This is the launch pad for Barishi’s newest album, Old Smoke. The Green Mountain State metallic shape-shifters’ third album roils along with feet in both the distant past and foreseeable future. The record is a fulcrum for the conglomeration and combination of metal from black, progressive, doom and sludge subgenres aligned with a variety of rock musics, including classic, roots, Americana and indie. For Barishi, there are no sonic barriers, no musical borders, everything is welcome and the result of throwing all available ingredients into a melting pot to create a powerful sum of parts. It’s a notion that grizzled urbanites and dichotomous us-against-them thinkers might view as achingly naive or treacherously liberal, but in the alchemical context of novel robustness emerging from the distillation of the best of disparate parts, Old Smoke exists as a beacon of light and strength. This is something Brooks attributes not only to the experience the band has gained since forming in 2010, but also the isolation of growing up as hopeful metalheads in rural Vermont.

As a pre-teen, Brooks’ family moved him to the tiny village of West Dover in order to live and eventually work on the family farm, where he lives and works to this day. While precociously and proudly sporting an Iron Maiden shirt at the grocery store one day, he was spotted by, and became friends with, Dylan Blake and the two joined forces when they ended up at the same high school in town.

“Dylan was known around as a drum wizard, I played guitar and [bassist] John [Kelley] got into metal a little later, but we were always friends so we just started rocking out together and have just stuck with it.

“Early on, we didn’t know anybody or how to get shows until this guy in Burlington started running this thing called Metal Mondays at a club called Nectars, which is the place Phish got their start at,” he says about the band’s primordial age. “That was where we were able to become a little more professional, figure out what we were doing and what we wanted to do. But Vermont’s cool because it’s so isolated and because there’s not a lot to do people come out to metal shows. Some old hippie will come out and have a great time just because that’s what’s happening in town. It’s small enough that there are no scene politics with this genre of kids versus that genre of kids; if there’s a show, people go to it. I think that attitude has allowed us to do our own thing while playing to everybody. Once in a while I’ll talk to somebody from a big city and they’ll mention the woes of trying to play to fans of a certain subgenre and how it never goes over. We don’t really have that in Vermont.”

Originally an instrumental band called Atlatl, the band joined forces with vocalist Sascha Simms and switched to the Barishi moniker in 2012. The then-quartet recorded and self-released a self-titled album in 2013 which caught the eye and ear of the likes of Decibel, Metal Hammer, New Noise, and, most importantly, Season of Mist. Being offered a recording contract slathered the Barishi camp in surprise (“We had done a fair bit of DIY touring, but it wasn’t like we were the big local band or had any buzz at all”) and sparked a growing ambition which begat the band’s 2016 album, Blood from the Lion’s Mouth. Shortly after the debut’s release though, Simms and the band parted ways which put Barishi in a holding pattern for a few months until they decided to stop looking for a replacement and fill the position internally.

“We tried a few other singers until I ended up grabbing the vocal reins. There weren’t hordes of disappointed fans or protesting crowds of Sascha loyalists,” Brooks says with a self-deprecating laugh, “so it made it easier to make the sort of identity change that most bands would worry about. Plus, it was hard to find people willing to give up as much as you have to and put in the work to be in a band.”

Once they traversed the hurdle of Simms’ departure, the now-trio discovered a new side of the band. Now that they didn’t have to concern themselves with what to do with a vocalist during lengthy instrumental parts, the songs got longer, more exploratory, grandiose and epic. Add on to that the fact that Old Smoke was gestated over a three year period and it becomes clear why this album brims with a monumental magnanimity.

“Not having a vocalist meant we could do our thing a little more. This was also the first time we demo-ed things extensively and through that process I was able to get a better perspective on the songs and shape them a little bit more towards something we’d want to listen to. I remember having a conversation with a friend about our shared love of Iron Maiden and one of us said something about Maiden being one of those bands that, when you put on a song, you instantly feel like you’re going on a quest. I thought that was bad ass and really wanted to write songs that could be considered ‘quest-worthy.’ I’d say that was a big thing when we were writing these songs: writing longer songs that went somewhere without making them seem cumbersome.”

Despite the excellence of Old Smoke, Barishi is humble and fully cognizant of their position as low rung on the ladder at Season of Mist, in particular, and in the metal scene, in general. Brooks reveals without hesitation that “I’m still surprised we weren’t dropped after losing a charismatic frontman like Sascha,” and that “We’re still new to and nervous about playing big markets like NYC” despite recent tours with Weedeater and Tombs. But with tracks like the lassoed meandering of awesome album opener “The Silent Circle,” the sinister black metal/noise rock slashing of “The Longhunter” and the sky-opening prog-metal enormity of the title track leading the charge, Old Smoke is set to make an indelible mark on the metal scene; one dripping with passion for the art of progressive song writing, honest creative expression and the hunt for one’s individual voice while paying homage to the well-worn parts of record collections.

“A big goal we have is having the band catch up to our tastes in music. Sometimes people have good taste in music, but what they create doesn’t always reflect the quality of that taste. I like to think I have good taste in music and I think we’re starting to reflect that in the music we make. There are bands we really respect that can write super-long, beautiful songs you can listen to and it sucks if you get interrupted because you want to listen to the whole thing in one shot. We want to have songs like that, songs you look forward to listening to. We also want to have an enjoyable creative process in creating something that sits well with us; to make something that survives the long term and is a fair representation of the stuff we’re into.”

Old Smoke it is, then!

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey, the early days of Monster Magnet were a cosmos away from the major-label, alternative rock boom that would suck the band into the shiny MTV world of the early to middle 90s. Originally formed by Dave Wyndorf, John McBain and Tim Cronin, Monster Magnet came into the world with a lysergic ooze in 1989 with two demo tapes – ‘Forget About Life, I’m High On Dope’ and ‘I’m Stoned, What Ya Gonna Do About It?’ – making it perfectly clear from the start where they were coming from.

This was a band reveling in bad trips and the death of the hippy dream with a Manson Family stare, playing squelchy lo-fi psychedelic music with a rabid punk rock sneer, like The Stooges terrorizing Hawkwind at the most unpleasant free festival imaginable. There were tales of entire audiences at their gigs being spiked with LSD. It didn’t matter if this was true or not, it all added to the mystique. This was indeed a satanic drug thing, you wouldn’t understand.

Those two demos formed the base of what would become their pivotal ‘Spine Of God’ album from 1991 and the ’25…Tab’ EP, which featured the mesmerizing 32-minute opus itself, "Tab".

Long considered to be the true essence of Magnet’s early psychedelic voyages, "Tab" is finally returning to earth’s stratosphere with the release of ‘Test Patterns: Vol.1’, available November 11 via God Unknown Records on 12” vinyl.

Test Patterns: Vol. 1’ features a 2021 remix of "Tab" by John McBain, alongside the original demo, recorded in 1988 and then released on the aforementioned ‘Forget About Life, I’m High On Dope’ in 1989.

When Magnet started, John and I worked in record stores in Red Bank and Dave worked in the comic bookstore and we made a lot of tapes for each other,” recalls Tim Cronin. “A lot of ‘check this shit out’ kind of stuff…Hawkwind, early UFO, Amon Duul, Can, Skullflower, Morgen, Loop, Crystalized Movements, early Alice Cooper, Walking Seeds, Butthole Surfers, Spacemen 3. When we recorded the first demo and got to "Tab", we just beat the shit out of it until it became heavy, noisy, weird, mean and either too long or not long enough, depending on your mood. Everything we wanted in a song (at least everything I wanted in a song), punishingly psychedelic. Jersey Shore krautrock.

Test Patterns: Vol. 1’ will be available in two 12” vinyl editions - a deluxe gatefold sleeve with acid blotter inner sleeve and a special Rough Trade Super Deluxe edition with gatefold sleeve, limited to 300 copies with 4 postcards, blotter inner sleeve, ‘orange sunshine’ coloured vinyl and alternative cover artwork.

THE MOON CITY MASTERS Bring Back '70s Feel-Good Rock with 'The Famous Moon City Masters' Album!

Brooklyn, NY based, New Wave of Classic Rock twin maestros, Jordan and Talor Steinberg, best known as THE MOON CITY MASTERS, has announced the release of their debut LP, The Famous Moon City Masters! Featuring a selection of the last ten singles from the band, including the wildly popular, effervescent original singles "Takin It Back" and "Where You Wanna Run To," The Famous Moon City Masters is due to be released November 4, 2022.

"Dulcet, sunshiney 70s nostalgia (with healthy lashings of 80s joie de vivre in the video), delivered with harmonised flair by Brooklyn twins Moon City Masters. Imagine Blind Faith having a jolly old time with the Allmans and you’re on the right track. Good clean retro fun." - Classic Rock Magazine

The Moon City Masters are a neo-classic rock band with a contemporary edge and more than a hint of soul and funk. The band, consisting of twin brothers, Jordan and Talor Steinberg, brings together the whole package, with virtuosic playing and singing combined with excellent songcraft and an aesthetic that is all their own. It's the unique MCM vibe that makes outlets like Classic Rock Magazine say that their music is full of "heart, harmonies and rays of California sunshine." Ever since they first picked up their instruments at the tender age of 12 after their dad took them to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the brothers have been cranking out riffs and tunes with preternatural ability.

Initially, they both picked up guitars, but Jordan soon switched to bass. Over the course of the next several years, they honed their singing and playing chops to a fine edge. The band kicked their songwriting into overdrive when they started working with Grammy-nominated producer Justin Craig. The band released their debut E.P., The Adventures of the Moon City Masters in late 2019. Since then, they’ve been hard at work recording and releasing singles. They will be playing dates around the country as the world opens up again. They can’t wait to see you there.

All-star project FEELINGLESS to release "Metal Against Animal Cruelty"; First Single feat. Björn Strid of SOILWORK Out Now!

December 2nd will see the release of Metal Against Animal Cruelty, the first offering by all-star project Feelingless. Brought to life by Hugo Markaida, member of Spanish melodic death metal band Rise to Fall, Feelingless is a project to support animal rights and to give a voice to the voiceless. Featuring top notch guest appearances by the likes of Björn Strid (Soilwork), Jon Howard (Threat Signal), Christian Älvestam (Solution .45, Miseration) and Ettore Rigotti & Claudio(Disarmonia Mundi) - just to name a few - Metal Against Animal Crueltyoffers eleven tracks and will be coming out via powerhouse label Noble Demon. All proceeds raised from this release will be donated to local animal shelters in Spain, and in addition, the label will donate to an international animal welfare organization.

Founder and Feelingless mastermind Hugo Markaida comments:

"The project was born in the middle of the pandemic, although it was an idea that had been germinating for a long time. My taste for this kind of projects began when I discovered, a few years before picking up the guitar, "The metal opera Pt. 1" by Avantasia in a local music store. An album that brought together many of my favorite heavy and power metal singers that, wrapped in a medieval fantasy concept, was for a teenager like me an object of devotion. If we jump in time to the moment when I was composing the material that would make up the fifth album of my band Rise To Fall, just moments before the pandemic, many of the ideas and compositions that I liked the most did not specifically fit to the band and, as in every album, I had to put them aside."

He continues:

"Still thinking about that Avantasia album that impacted me when I was a teenager, to bring out a project of that magnitude myself with my favorite singers must have had a sense of importance for the person I am today. Something special that would draw attention to one of the causes I am most committed to. And, incidentally, to support it with the profits resulting from the project."

"Both my partner and I are animal lovers, and we live surrounded by rescued animals. That is why it seemed important to me that, at a time when the whole of humanity was suffering from a global crisis and its consequences, we could not forget the most vulnerable. Thus, I began to outline the concept of the album around the exploitation and mistreatment of animals. I was willing to work with the best and most favorite of my artists, so I started composing the songs thinking beforehand about who was going to interpret them. I told the participating artists all about the project and its charitable nature, with no profit for the artists involved in favor of associations that help animals in need. It was touching to see how my idols sympathized with the cause and joined the project selflessly."

The result is Metal Against Animal Cruelty, a diverse metal album with twenty magnificent singers and musicians supporting the good cause on eleven tracks! Listen to the first single feat. Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork, The Nightflight Orchestra) below.

Hugo Markaida about the song:

"This track is a tribute to one of my favorite artists like Björn Strid and David Andersson (recently passed away, may he rest in peace) from my favorite band Soilwork. Björn was the first artist I contacted and he agreed to collaborate in the project. The lyrics have some reference to Soilwork, legacy of David Andersson in the last stage of the band and Björn, main composers of the band, but it has a deeper and more personal meaning, as well as the dream of touring with Soilwork in Japan. The drums in this song are played by Lawrence Dinamarca, a Chilean/Swedish musician of an amazing level that I met while touring with his ex-band Nightrage. The guitar solo is by Pedro J Monge (Vhäldemar, Chromaticity Studios) and bass by Iñigo Lopez (The Descent)."

The album was produced, recorded and mastered at Chromaticity Studios by Pedro J Monge. Music and lyrics by*Hugo Markaida (Except Anxiety Lyrics and music by Iñigo Lopez and music in Fear & Guilt by Iñigo & Hugo and Lyrics by Hugo). "Metal Against Animal Cruelty" will be coming out on December 2nd and is now available for pre-order HERE

Montreal’s premier blackened death metallers are back with 'UNUS', the crushing and cinematic follow up to 2016’s 'Advent of the Human God'. With each record NECRONOMICON has created in the span of their 31-year career, the band has steadily evolved in both sound and power; 'UNUS' is no exception to this.

Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary grimoire, NECRONOMICON formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob "The Witch" in the deep, northern part of Canadian province Quebec, Fjord of Saguenay. Since then, the band have carefully released each full-length without haste, allowing them to perfect every nuance before unleashing their sonic assaults upon the masses. In 2019, NECRONOMICON was presented with a certificate of honor for over 30 years of service via H.S. production/Tommy Tremblay, and the people of Saguenay Lac St Jean, making them the second band after VOIVOD to ever receive this honor.

'UNUS' is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambience, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the orchestral prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres. Standout tracks like “Paradise Lost” and “Singularis Dominus” only solidify NECRONOMICON’s ability to continuously produce high quality metal that’s just as dark and brutal as it is elegant.
