Indie rock band The Intemperate Sons released their new single "Unrealized" to all major platforms today! The single is from their highly anticipated new album Game of Keep Away that will be released via FRAME|WORK in 2023.

"The first cut off the upcoming album, Game of Keep Away is called “Unrealized”. The Intemperate Sons once again teamed up with Amir Derakh at the producing and mixing helm to work on this track and the second album to be released in 2023. “Unrealized” is the story of being trapped within the walls of your mind and the self-destructive ways you end up keeping yourself there while everyone around you sees your potential. The Intemperate Sons will follow up the single release with a new video on 1/6/2023 that was filmed by Ardent Owl Media and Ryan Whitehead. The track was recorded at The Kitchen Recording Studios in Dallas, TX. All mastering is done by Mike Marsh Mastering in the U.K. " says the band.

Formed in the summer of 2019 in Dallas, TX, The Intemperate Sons are an up-and-coming alternative rock band that are a cool concoction of hard rock mixed with folk and grunge. The band has earned a serious reputation of writing and performing tracks that scratch deep into the groove of the human experience. There is no shortage of darkness to their writing style. Their music has a total retro vibe with many guitar driven tracks stacked on top of a groovy rhythm section. Their heavier retro style sits perfectly under the two and three-part vocal harmonies that are a huge part of their sound. The Intemperate Sons are a family band with its members Keith Watson (drums), Jake Watson (guitars), and Max Watson (vocals, guitars, keys) all being related by blood. Mark Marks provides the groove at bass to tie it all together. It has been said that musicians that are related form unique sounds and communicate on a frequency only they can understand. This frequency has become engrained in their songwriting, arrangements, guitar melodies, and vocal harmonies. The band has been compared to Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and REM.

The Intemperate Sons are:

Max Watson (vocals, backing vocals, guitars, keys, bass)

Jake Watson (guitars, bass and backing vocals)

Keith Watson (drums, backing vocals)

Mark Marks (bass)

AFTERMATH Releases New Single "Transform & Disrupt"

AFTERMATH released their new single "Transform & Disrupt" to all major outlets. This is the second single from the forthcoming album, No Time to Waste due out on March 17, 2023.

"To Transform and Disrupt the educational system is the message of this track. 'History is written by the victors' according to the famous saying, but the saying left out that real knowledge and information is also controlled by them. The education system that we all go through has brainwashed us and indoctrinated us into believing what 'they' want us to accept as reality. This allows them to control everything and until we understand that and transform and disrupt this machine, we will never truly be free," says Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis.

The band will release their new album No Time To Waste, on March 17, 2023. This marks the third album in a trilogy, and is a departure from the previous dark, concept album installment in the trilogy. It also includes the band’s re-imagining of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance".

Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco (Guitar) got together. This early incarnation with Adam (Bass) and Ray Schmidt (Drums) released their first demo in 1986 featuring “Sentenced to Death”, “Revenge”, “Shotgun” and “The Aftermath”.

In 1987, they unleashed their second demo entitled Killing the Future featuring the tracks “When Will You Die”, “Going No Place”, “Chaos”, “Meltdown” and “War for Freedom”. The band pursued a mind-blowing speed and technical brand of thrash that soon set them apart from the pack and in the process made them a pioneering crossover thrash band.

The tracks "War for Freedom" & "When Will You Die" were both featured on the British Metal Forces magazine_compilation LP Demolition: Scream Your Brains Out in 1988. Their appearance on the Metal Forces compilation further expanded the band's international appeal.

By 1988, the band's musical direction was changing, and Adam's raw and simple bass lines would soon be replaced with complex and technical bass parts handled at first by John Lovette. Ironically, John never played bass on any Aftermath recording and was not even a bass player. He wanted to join the band so badly, however, that he came to the audition with a friend's bass he had just started to play. The speed and complex playing he displayed were like nothing the members had ever seen before on bass. He landed the gig that day. When the band decided it was time to add a second guitarist, Lovette told his bandmates of his desire to switch to guitar and for the first time he came clean he was a guitar player pretending to be a bass player all along. His bass playing was surpassed by his guitar skills and the band found its second guitar player, but unfortunately the search for a bass player was forced to resume. Luckily, the search (for the time being, anyway) ended with Danny Vega. His warm and precise playing was the perfect complement to the guitar playing of Lovette and Sacco and worked amazingly well with Schmidt's powerful drumming. With Lovette handling most of the song writing duties, Aftermath was about to make an unbelievable musical change.

By 1989, that change brought on by Lovette's writing and the band's musical tastes and stylings had slowed and matured as evidenced by the release of the underground classic demo Words That Echo Fear. Danny Vega was replaced on bass by Chris Waldron. The band went onto to become a trailblazing progressive/technical thrash band in the years that followed.

In 1990, based on the huge international success of the Words that Echo Feardemo, the metal label RoadRacer Records (a subsidiary of Roadrunner Records)approached the band for a demo deal, which resulted in a live four track demo featuring the songs “Eyes of Tomorrow”, “Afraid Of Time”, “The Act Of Unspoken Wisdom” and “Reflecting Pictures". Negotiations eventually broke down and Aftermath signed to New York's Big Chief Records. The label's collapse halfway through the recording sessions led to a long delay in finishing the record. While the band struggled to pay the studio bill, the album the band started to record in 1990 would not see the light of day for four years. The experience left the band reeling and forced them to issue the album under their own imprint with the help of their manager through Zoid Recordings in 1994. Four long years had passed since the initial recordings for the record Eyes of Tomorrow and the scene had dramatically changed.

The album was subsequently re-released on Thermometer Sound Surface / Zoidand released yet again four years (1998) later on Black Lotus Records in a re-mastered version.

Quite famously, Aftermath, in a notable court case Tsiolis v. Interscope. Records. Inc., 946 F.Supp. 1344, 1349 (N.D.III. 1996) sued high-profile millionaire rapper DR. DRE over the ownership of the Aftermath name. The Rapper tried to buy the name for $50,000, which the band rejected. The band sued him. As part of the settlement, Interscope Records signed the band. To the label's surprise, the band delivered a record under the moniker Mother God Moviestar. Its eponymous Electro-Metal debut was released in March 1998. The case has been studied in law schools around the US related to the issue of trademark dilution.

Aftermath has continued to receive critical acclaim as one of the major influences in the genre. The band was featured on pages 9 and 10 of Gary Sharpe-Young's A - Z of Thrash Metal, available on Cherry Red Books. Aftermath is also given an entire feature section in Alexandros Anesiadis’ 2019 book Crossover the Edge: Where Hardcore, Punk, and Metal Collide.

Twenty-five years after its formation, Aftermath's music made its return in 2011 with the release of the Box Set 25 YEARS OF CHAOS on Area Death Productions and the vinyl When Will You Die on F.O.A.D. The reemergence of one of the most original thrash bands ever continued in 2014 with their decision to reunite for several concerts in 2015.

Coming off their first show in 20 years at Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in their hometown of Chicago, the band ripped the stage apart at Headbanger’s Open Air in Hamburg, Germany that summer. In the Fall of 2015, the reunion continued with the reissue of Eyes of Tomorrow. With an expanded booklet and remastered by Paul Logus (Pantera, Steel Panther), Shadow Kingdom Records released the band's debut along with bonus material. Following this release was the Killing the Futurereissue on Divebomb Records. Once again Paul Logus remastered the tracks from their original source and created a wall of sound in the process. Killing the Future, along with the expanded booklet and bonus tracks from the band's 1986 first demo completed the celebration of the band's 30th anniversary.

In 2017, the band started writing the material for their new album. There is Something Wrong is an 11-song opus recorded by Chuck Macak. mastered by Ted Jensen and released through Ingrooves by Zoid Entertainment and The Label Group. A concept record in the truest sense of the word, the album features a mix of old-school crossover thrash and technical/progressive metal and is a commentary on what is wrong with the world today. A calling out of the masses to wake up and know the real enemy. The music is urgent, and the lyrics challenge the listener to seek the truth. Aftermath went back to its early days and revived its crossover thrash stylings on several songs, but those are only samples of what the listeners have in store for them once they put on their headphones and listen to There is Something Wrong in its entirety.

In 2020, Aftermath released a re-imagined version of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance".

“John Lennon’s urgent call for peace in Give Peace a Chance is more important today than ever, and our call for peace with this cover is the perfect message to follow up our previous album. We released a dark concept album with a bleak message and felt it was important to follow that up with something positive. The visuals in the video are as important as the lyrics in a way. We live in a visual world today and this video needed to get out the message of HOPE. Having a young girl be the focus of the video was our way of getting that across. Seeing only positive acts when she puts on Lennon’s famous glasses was the perfect visual metaphor. Lennon’s message is transmitted not only through his lyrics but also through the perspective created by his unique lenses” says the band.

The video was directed by critically acclaimed video director Steven Nathan in New York City.

AFTERMATH is:
Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis - Vocals
Steve Sacco - Guitar
Ray Schmidt - Drums
George Lagis - Bass

Society 1: Live Concert With 14-Girl Orgy Featured In Shock Rock Movie

Shock Rock Movie is in its second month of filming and movie directors, Lord Zane and Dagon Destroyer, have just revealed that the movie will show unreleased footage of a Society 1 performance where 14 girls took the stage and had a live orgy in front of thousands of unsuspecting fans.

"You wouldn't believe it unless we had footage from that night. At the time it was the largest crowd we had ever performed in front of so we thought it would be cool to go overboard with the dancers. Mötley Crüe had a couple dancers on stage back then, we wanted the most of any band ever. What we didn't plan for is the excitement to overcome the women and a spontaneous, full blown orgy to break out. To be honest, by mid set no one was even watching the band. The girls jumped off their platforms in the back and pushed to the front of the stage. We were stepping over naked bodies attempting to not trip over tits and ass for the entire set." said lead vocalist Zane Ear's Rise Of The Machine tour.

Dagon Destroyer comments, “We’ve decided not to hold back with this movie. We’re showing behavior that is considered unacceptable by today’s standards: a massive orgy during a live rock show, hecklers getting face humped, body suspension, and disgusting sexual exploits.”

The movie will cover a side of “shock rock” history that Dagon describes as “covered up by the gatekeepers of the entertainment industry.”

Dagon continues, “Lord Zane gets no respect from the industry. He’s hated by his peers, and his career has been purposely erased, which is why I approached Zane about making this movie. During the height of Zane's career, he was all over MTV and VH1 and in every rock magazine on the news stand. He broke records with live body suspension in front of a hundred-thousand people. He was the most famous porn director alive. Celebrities consistently use Zane for his profound directing and marketing skills, and then consistently screw him over. It's incredibly interesting and gives those who watch this movie a window into the dark side of entertainment.”

Lord Zane and Dagon Destroyer have joined forces to make this film a reality. They will be filming a portion of the movie while on tour with Static-X, Fear Factory, and Dope on next year's Rise Of The
Machine tour.

Singer/ Songwriter/ Producer Mychael Gabriel Releases New Single "Sunday Afternoon" + Official Music Video

MYCHAEL GABRIEL has released his latest single "Sunday Afternoon" to all major platforms! The single is from his highly anticipated album titled Genesis that is available now!

At times heartbreaking, and others tender, Mychael Gabriel’s “Sunday Afternoon”deftly navigates the highs and lows of a relationship through a melody of piercing lyrics that are as seamless as they are true.

And the man’s talents don’t stop there. Mychael Gabriel flexes once more to direct the music video for "Sunday Afternoon", an artful contemplation of the contradictions of intimate relationships. Amidst the late autumn beauty of what must be Minnesota’s lake-dappled plains, Gabriel encounters a veiled woman in the spacious plains. Take in the striking red of her robing juxtaposed over golden shoots of dying grass—it’s oozing with intention without being heavy handed, showing us we’re not just listening to “some musician” but encountering a true,
well-rounded artist. Come for the music, stay for the revelation.

Recently, Dave Morales with Backstage OL (FOX 26 Houston) sat down with Mychael to discuss the new record.
WATCH it here: https://www.fox26houston.com/video/1159351

Mychael's story is unique and compelling. His story begins when his parents met during the Prince's historic PURPLE RAIN World Tour. Mychael's father, Gilbert Davison was part of Prince's personal security detail on the Purple Rain tour and eventually became Director of Security, Prince's Manager and President of Paisley Park. Mychael's mother, Connie, was Sheila E.'s road manager and co-lyricist. Mychael is also Sheila E.'s co-producer, lead guitarist, studio engineer and collaborator.

MYCHAEL GABRIEL is a Minneapolis-grown singer and songwriter whose bent on exploring the never-ending sonic space that is music. A a multi-dimensional artist in more ways than one, Mychael Gabriel is on a mission to break the barriers of what is and what could be. His unique creativity is in a constant state of evolution and innovation, guaranteeing that each new release spells an experience unlike any other. Mychael's music has been recognized as elements of the Minneapolis sound with a guitar style of Jimi Hendrix and vocals of Lenny Kravitz.

As a writer, producer, arranger, engineer, mixer, musician - Mychael Gabriel has worked and collaborated with iconic talents Sheila E., Stevie Wonder, Ringo Starr,Hans Zimmer, Usher, John Legend, Snoop Dogg, Beck, Common, Gary Clark Jr., St. Vincent, Miguel, H.E.R., Earth Wind and Fire, Gloria Estefan, the Escovedo Family, George Duke, George Clinton, Freddie Stone (of Sly and the Family Stone), just to name a few. His work has been featured on MasterClass, DreamWorks Animation, ABC Network, 2007 and 2012 Latin GrammyAwards, 2016 BET Awards, Super Bowl XXVI, 2020 Grammy Awards, 2020 Grammy Salute to Prince. Mychael has proved time and again his merit on some of the world’s biggest stages and alongside music legends.

With a passion for producing truly epic auditory experiences, Mychael Gabriel has written, produced and performed a number of tracks that scratch the itch in your ear and propel you into tomorrow. In 2018’s pop-inspired “GHOST IN THE MIDNIGHT”, Mychael Gabriel channels nostalgia and flaunts a vivid imagination with flare, in 2019’s slow-burn groove-track “HONESTY” Mychael Gabriel ponders the naked truth of relationships. In 2020, we all witnessed the toll inaction, police brutality, and political cruelty takes on our communities. Mychael’s “FURY” and “INVICTUS”voiced a poetic call-to-action for us to stand together. In 2021, “SIGHTS AND SOUNDS" paints a cinematic mood of a midnight-drive; rustling wind, neon signage and rhythmic vibes that mimic a revving engine. “CELEBRATE” dives deep into the artists funky MPLS roots and is the first single from the just released album GENESIS. "Let There Be Light" was written, performed, and produced by the multi-dimensional Minneapolis artist, Mychael Gabriel. This rocksentric, 1970s inspired track with loud guitars and a killer groove - is sure to turn the vibe up to eleven. The culmination of a monstrous guitar solo not only illustrates Mychael’s talent and prowess while in his element, but demonstrates why he is a force to be reckoned with. "We are thrilled to join forces with an iconic artist like Violent J. He added such a kick ass and dangerous element to "Saddle Up and Ride" and "Sweet Toof". J has without a doubt taken The Lucid to another level."

"As far as live shows go, we had to cancel those shows back in May 2021 due to my cancer situation resulting in surgery which I have fully recovered from but with David and Mike looking to have a busy 2023 with Kings of Thrash/Dieth and Raven/Fear Factory respectively, it's looking like the most pragmatic route would be if Vin and I team up for some acoustic shows to promote The Lucid so be on the lookout for that."

The Lucid began in mid 2020 as an idea between frequent collaborators Drew Fortier and Mike Heller which led to David Ellefson (ex Megadeth) jumping on board on bass along with vocalist Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge) rounding out the lineup resulting in their debut self-titled album which featured 9 heavy hitting and emotionally charged tracks showcasing this eclectic quartet's unique sonic approach. Society 1 Film Multiple Music Videos For New Music!

Society 1’s new album will be released cinematically with music videos and as the soundtrack to the Shock Rock Movie that Lord Zane and Dagon are co-directing.

“We’re set to release two new music videos in January and February to accompany the singles we just did with iconic producer Chris Coller (Korn, Whitesnake). With the overwhelming response from our younger fanbase, Dagon and I decided to take a more cinematic approach to our music in 2023.” said lead vocalist Zane

Dagon Destroyer (Society 1 drummer & filmmaker) is partnering with Lord Zane to support the ambitious visual accompaniment of the music.

Dagon describes his perspective on the collaboration, “I see this new music as the soundtrack to a complete visual experience and story. My goal in working with Lord Zane is to combine our efforts to reach millions of eyes and in 2023 with visual storytelling and reels. We have everything in place to accomplish this.”

Formed in 1983 in North Eastern Poland, Vader are one of the longest-running bands in the history of extreme metal. Since their 1992 debut album The Ultimate Incantation, they've become a major force in the death metal scene - touring relentlessly, with over 2000 shows around the world and playing almost every metal festival from Wacken to Hellfest and beyond. Their latest album Solitude In Madness (2020) climbed up to #2 on the National Polish album charts. Still, their first breakthrough success already happened with their second album De Profundis, which was first released in Poland in 1995, and in 1996 in Europe and the US.

ENSLAVED Release "Caravans To The Outer Worlds" Live Video/Single

Taken From "The Otherworldly Big Band Experience"

New Album "Heimdal" Out March 3rd 2023

Left-field metal luminaries Enslaved have revealed a single and video for 'Caravans to the Outer Worlds (Live from The Otherworldly Big Band Experience)'. The track, which comes from their forthcoming new studio album Heimdal (out March 3rd), as well as last year's EP of the same name, sees an innovative, alternative live recording and stellar presentation of the song, with nuanced accompaniment from fellow psychedelic Norwegian prog band Shaman Elephant.

This extraordinary performance took place one year ago, on last year's Winter Solstice, via the streaming event The Otherworldly Big Band Experience.

Heimdal album bonus versions will contain an extra track, 'Gangandi', alongside a Blu-Ray copy of The Otherworldly Big Band Experience. This streamed event was the band's boldest project to date. The kaleidoscopic stage show features a spectacular setlist, covering Enslaved's career, both past and present, and several tracks never previously performed live.

Grutle Kjellson commented,
“Caravans To The Outer Worlds' was the first material written for our upcoming album, and that first song usually points in a certain direction. However, this song points in several directions, and that really made the whole process immensely interesting, and ultimately pushed us making our best album ever!
This live-version, taken from 'The Otherworldly Big Band Experience', our last big project keeping us alive during the pandemic, is the first of hopefully many opportunities to behold a performance of this energetic song. We hope you’ll enjoy it. God Jól!”

Heimdal, is both a departure and a communion with roots forged over three decades ago in the turbulent birth throes of Norway’s black metal scene. The record is named after Heimdalarguably the most mysterious entity in Nordic mythology.

Never faltering, Norway’s iconic Enslaved continue to exist as one of the most original and dependable components in our scene's indestructible backbone. Possessing the reputation as one of the most riveting live acts around, they never fail to offer us talent of the highest calibre, always doing justice to their signature black/progressive sound. Enslaved was formed in 1991 by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson, releasing their first demo Yggdrasill in the summer of 1992, their legendary mini-album Hordanes Land coming out in 1993, and with their debut full-length Vikingligr Veldi arriving in the spring of 1994.

Enslaved in 2022 are a band in stellar form - a band at its most existentialist and self-conscious, proud Bergeners bearing the torch of their hometown’s extraordinary musical history. Their most recent material shows Enslaved at their most unleashed and thought-through - a lethal combination unfurling a potential that’s easily rekindling the furor of their early works while dancing gracefully through their most ambitious, most haunting and most musical tunes yet. A contradiction? Life itself is a contradiction. And yet we all live to prove it wrong.

Enslaved are:
Ivar Bjørnson | guitars
Grutle Kjellson | vocals
Arve 'Ice Dale' Isdal | guitar
Håkon Vinje | keyboards, clean vocals
Iver Sandøy | drums

SAVAGE EXISTENCE ANNOUNCE APRIL 2023 RELEASE OF NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM

Savage Existence will present their self-titled album — honest, violent, groovy and still crazy savage!

As a follow-up to their 2021 album ‘Animals,’ the upcoming album is Just what a true metalhead needs. And prior to the album’s release, a single will be issued for the track “Steady Blows to the Head,” on January 9th, 2023 (with a video for the song to be issued on January 19th that you can view below.

Pre-save “Steady Blows to the Head” here: https://orcd.co/joejagz

Formed in Costa Rica by Daniel Cleland (guitars) and Jesse Radford (drums), both entrepreneurs from Canada, and singer and songwriter Anton Darusso. They are joined by Daniel Ramos (bass) and Andreas Castro (guitars).

“Savage Existence revisits old school groove metal with elements of American metal, death metal, and southern rock, with lyrics that speak about real life issues and relevant concerns of the modern day,” is how Cleland describes the group’s sound.

“We made the new self-titled Savage Existence album as a fully collaborative unit, more experienced and better equipped than the first recording. We recorded with Logan Mader for a second time, but accessed the top notch gear in The Hideout, Skeleton Key, and Logan’s personal studios in Las Vegas. There are more vicious guitar solos, more complex overall arrangements to the songs, and generally we feel that this album shows-off just better composition. I really hope people are going to accept and love this record!”

“Logan Mader is of course one of the pioneers of groove metal from the 90s, and he’s produced debut albums for top selling bands like Gojira, Five Finger Death Punch, Devildriver and Cavalera Conspiracy. So having him in our corner has been a great asset.”

And although its release is still on the horizon, Cleland already has a few favorite tracks. “Personally my favorite tracks are ‘Cull,’ ‘Matricide,’ and ‘Enigma.’ I love the brutality and in your face lyrics of ‘Cull.’ I love the heavy melodic riffs of ‘Matricide’ along with the two guitar solos by Gary Holt. And I love the philosophizing lyrics of ‘Enigma,’ along with another Gary Holt solo. However another couple of awesome songs with great choruses and riffs are ‘Leap of Faith’ and ‘Standing in Flames.’”

Lastly, what are Savage Existence’s plans once the album is unleashed? “World domination! We’re doing some touring in South America while we wait for our USA visas to come though, and planning on touring Europe this summer. The whole idea is to support our upcoming releases with at least a year of touring!”

Hosted by Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Satyricon, Order), the tour will take fans on a trip through the places that marked the beginnings of Norwegian black metal.

For the average music fan the story of Norwegian Black Metal is in essence something about murder, suicide and church burning. Anders Odden formed his first black metal band, Slaught, in 1986 after attending a rehearsal with Mayhem at the age of 14. Drawing from the library’s rich collection, the exhibition references ancient Norwegian cultural history and shows black metal as a music form with a distinct artistic expression The exhibition conveys how Norwegian black metal has had an impact far beyond Norwegian borders with a vast number of international followers.

The National Library of Norway invites fans and other lovers of music and cultural history to dig deep and explore Norwegian black metal as a music genre and a cultural phenomenon. There will be guided tours every day of the festival week.

Irish Synth Metal Trio NO SPILL BLOOD Release New Single "Anvil Crawler"

Today, Svart Records announces the sophomore album ‘Eye Of Night’ by Irish synthetic kraut-metal trio No Spill Blood. After the 2015 debut ‘Heavy Electricity’, the synth-bass-drums trio have spent the pandemic years working on a triumphant return, set to be released on February 23, 2023No Spill Blood will embark on a 14-date Euro tour with Year of No Light to support the album starting February 4th.

As showcased by the new single "Anvil Crawler" the Dublin trio have refined and developed their signature sound, incorporating elements of doom and thrash into their synthetic kraut metal. ‘Eye of Night' is a feast of thunderous riffs, propulsive rhythms, cosmic textures, and moments of far-reaching minimalism. An arsenal of analog synths and electronics alongside pounding low-end strumming underpin a series of inward-folding tales of a protagonist's journey within the self. An exploration of the cosmos within, an engagement with the inner recesses, bearing witness to lies beneath the real.

The album is adorned with iconic artwork by legendary artist Michael Whelan, it was mixed by Phil Manley (Trans Am, The F**king Champs) and mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Sumac, Zombi, etc). Eye of Night will be released on vinyl, CD and digital formats on February 23rd.

Formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2011, No Spill Blood are a forward-thinking synth metal band consisting of Matt Hedigan (bass, vocals), Ruadhan O’Meara (synths and electronics) and Ror Conaty (drums). Their sound has been described as a distinctive blend of heady, electronic riffs and crushing electronics which draws elements from synth punk, noise rock, classic doom, and experimental esoterica. The band’s debut album was on Sargent House in 2015, and they have performed live with Russian Circles, Baroness, Boris, The Fall and Deafheaven.

Fredlös have released their new single "Farsot"

Fredlös have released their new single "Farsot", taken from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut album. The single is accompanied by a music video.

Fredlös came together in the Spring of 2021, rising from the ashes of previous musical adventures, based in the country around Norrtalje, northeast of Stockholm. United by a deep sense of their historical roots and a love of dark sounds, they create a truly epic landscape, blending heavy guitars with more traditional instruments and a need to relate history true to the facts. The result is a brooding yet effortlessly melodic sound where the listener can survive and thrive in the dark.

Fredlös' self-titled debut album will be released in the Spring of 2023 and contains 9 dark, heavy, intense songs. Lyrically the album is a journey through the late Middle Ages, recounting the historical events from the perspective of the common people. Musically it's a tour de force that defies any one description, weaving metal, rock, folk, and traditional music themes into a rich and varied tapestry.

Swedish Metallers SCREAMER Release New Single & Video for "The Traveler" Today!

New Album, Kingmaker, out January 13, 2023 via Steamhammer/SPV

SCREAMER, one of Sweden’s most ambitious heavy metal acts, have released their third single from their upcoming full length today, entitled "The Traveler". SCREAMER’s latest offering, Kingmaker, is scheduled for release on January 13, 2023 via Steamhammer/SPV.

It’s the physically tangible intensity of their songs, their enthusiasm and their irrepressible drive that has always set SCREAMER apart from other acts. The Swedish band surrounding vocalist Andreas Wikström benefits to no end from their amazing energy in combination with the musicians’ inspiring and diverse songwriting. This rewarding mix has already produced four studio albums and one live recording since 2011.

Watch the Video for "The Traveler"

Like its predecessors, ‘Kingmaker’ sparkles with a wealth of songs in the catchment area of classic heavy metal, the kind that has been an integral part of our lives since the early 1980s. At the same time, Screamer skins-man Henrik Petersson promises his band’s most mature and focused album yet, saying: “‘Kingmaker’ had us refine our signature style even more and bring out the essence of our strongest fortes.”

New songs such as "Renegade", "Chasing the Rainbow" and "Hellfire" are typical Screamer numbers. Says Petersson“In addition, they show what we are about this time, musically as well as in terms of content. Normally our lyrics are about life on tour, the joys of heavy metal and the life that goes with it.”

However, the unusual, melancholy "The Traveler" is not your typical Screamer fare.

"‘Kingmaker’ also features socio-critical approaches, for example on "Ashes and Fire", and fantasy influences on "Sounds of the Night", which you might refer to as little adventure stories,” adds vocalist Andreas Wikström.

Screamer came together in Ljungby in 2009, a small town between Malmö and Gothenburg. Their previous studio albums, ‘Adrenaline Distractions’ (2011), ‘Phoenix’ (2013), ‘Hell Machine’ (2017) and ‘Highway of Heroes’ (2019), saw the five-piece deliver straightforward statements featuring dynamic riffs, tasteful twin guitars, punchy grooves and deeply melodic vocals. Screamer have played well over three hundred concerts, including acclaimed shows at renowned festivals such as Headbangers Open Air, Rock Hard Open Air, Summer Breeze, Bang Your Head and Muskelrock.

Testament to the quintet’s enthusiasm for playing live saw the light of day in January 2021: The songs on their ‘Live Sacrifice’ live album were cut during their European tour between autumn 2019 and spring 2020. ‘Kingmaker now seamlessly picks up where its predecessors left off.

Wikström is not only Screamer’s vocalist, but also the band’s main lyricist, with a sure instinct for fantastic choruses. Along with longstanding members, guitarist Dejan Rosić, described by his colleagues as a “riff machine and Bosnian Santana”, and bassist Fredrik Svensson Carlström (“a real animal on stage!”), there’s drummer Henrik Petersson, who not only started the band, but is also its manager and organizational backbone. Guitarist Jon Morheim has only recently joined the Screamer fold and is a true riff virtuoso whose great technical skill has been instrumental in propelling Screamer to the next musical level.

These five have combined their talent, experience and undiminished driving ambition to unleash Kingmaker, the strongest album of their career to date.

Pre-Order 'Kingmaker' HERE

The new album "Kingmaker" will be released on January 13th, 2023 through SPV/Steamhammer as CD DigiPak (incl.poster), LP version, CD/LP bundle with shirt (only at the Steamhammer shop), download and stream HERE

Fat Mike of NOFX Launches New Label, Bottles To The Ground; Signs The Meffs, Codefendants and Melvinator

Right on the heels of the exoneration of his new band Codefendants, notorious punk rock legend Fat Mike announces the launch of a new record label, Bottles To The Ground. This label will be a halfway house for Codefendants, and a home for British punk duo The Meffs, NOFX’s Eric Melvin’s EDM project Melvinator, and others.

Fat Mike explains the origins of Bottles to the Ground

“When NOFX first played Amsterdam in 1988, we were invited to the closing night of one of the most infamous squats in the city. Not just a squat, this was a punk bar that instructed everyone to smash all glasses and bottles on the street after we emptied them. Apparently there would be no repercussions from the city because no one owned it. So, we drank all night along with hundreds of punks and every fucking bottle got smashed. To me, it looked like how punk rock music should feel. Bottles to the Ground is the beauty of disaster.”

Fat Wreck Chords now has a new imprint Bottles to the Ground. Fat Mike created this label for both his and NOFX’s music projects such as Codefendants and Melvinator, as well as other bands that do not fit the traditional Fat sound. This label is a collective not solely owned by Fat, but by all members of NOFX.

“Erin and I both decided that NOFX deserved to be co-owners for all their years of loyalty and support for Fat Wreck Chords. Of course, their percentage isn’t as big as mine, but hey…” - Fat Mike

Codefendants released the video for brand new track “Suicide By Pigs” last month. The track is now available on all streaming platforms alongside previous single “Abscessed”, listen to both HERE. Watch the music video for “Suicide By PigsHERE .

The Meffs’ new EP 'Broken Britain, Broken Brains Pt. 1' is released digitally along with a brand new music video featuring a cameo from album producer Frank Turner for the title track “Broken Britain, Broken Brains”. The EP can be listened to HEREwith physical copies being available to purchase HERE. Watch the video for “Broken Britain, Broken Brains below. Speaking on their new track, the band share

“"Broken Britain, Broken Brains" - A dialogue that resonates with the masses. This song spits truths about society, the daily grind and the price we pay for happiness. We owe you a beer if the chorus isn’t stuck in your head for the rest of the day. The video was filmed in Clacton-on-sea, where Lily was born and bred. Being about a 'Broken Britain' it felt apt filming by the most deprived town in the UK... on a boiling hot day.”

Globally renowned guitarist, artist and founding member of punk-rock heavyweights NOFX, Eric Melvin needs little introduction. Outside of his work with NOFX, fans have been eagerly watching Melvin's solo transformation into Producer / DJ for nearly 10 years. Beginning with the now legendary "Mosh-Up" collection of mixes, Melvin's entree into the world of mash-ups, with short, sharp sets that seamlessly moulded together punk rock, hip hop, EDM, and funk - and mixing the likes of NWA with Fugazi & The Circle Jerks!

With a packed schedule for 2023, Melvinator has teamed up with long-time friend, bandmate, and label boss Fat Mike as one of the first signings to his new label Bottles To The Ground. Melvinator will offer fans brand new versions of NOFX staples. Executive produced by Fat Mike and recorded over the course of two years alongside producer Baz The Frenchman (NOFX – The Decline at Red Rocks), this project continues Eric Melvin’s exploration of the do-it-yourself links between punk rock & EDM. His first release on the label, a reworking of “American Errorist”, is out today and available both on streaming platforms and as a 12” single featuring Melvinator’s original version and a remix by ZBA. Stream the track HERE, purchase the vinyl HERE and watch the music video for “American Errorist” below.

Speaking on his first official release on Bottles To The Ground, Melvinator shares:

“I’m so excited to share this track with the world. I have been experimenting in my private labs for what seems like an eternity, but I'm finally ready to start sharing my creations with you. While the synthesis of Punk Rock & EDM might seem like an unholy matrimony to some, I think more will delight in the similarities as I do. The high energy, the sonic intensity and the refusal to conform has made this path clear for me. I see connections in the most unlikely places. This just might be one of them. American Errorist is only the beginning! Thank you for being here with me and facilitating my artistic expression as this new landscape echoes with boundless possibilities.

Mel xoxo"

Look for many new BTTG releases next year.

One more round then it’s Bottles to the Ground, smashing of the glass, an imperfect perfect sound.“  - Fat Mike

Slaves to Humanity Announce Multiple Show Dates in Washington!

Slaves To Humanity announced that they will be playing a string of shows in Washington in January, 2023.

"I’m really excited. It’s gonna be extremely refreshing. I absolutely love Seattle, and I cannot wait to show our music to a new crowd. It’s a little scary, but the excitement outweighs any fear I have! " says Aidan Amini.

Shane Ryan adds, "Going on tour is one of the main things I’ve been looking forward to doing since I started playing drums, and now that we’re actually going to make that dream a reality is super surreal for me. This is going to be just the first of many tours we will be going on as a band and it’ll definitely be one to remember."

"I'm looking forward to it. There's something about being completely on our own that feels like a necessary stage in our journey. A little scary? Exciting? Definitely a bit of both," comments Nathan Johnson.

Pierce Akers also comments,"I’m excited but definitely nervous because I haven’t done anything like this, but this is definitely something that needs to happen for us to move on this musical boat."

Slaves to Humanity (STH) is a Sunset Grunge band from Orange County California. It’s members include Aidan Amini on vocals, Pierce Akers on guitar, Shane Ryan on drums, and Nathan Johnson on the bass. Together the band mates create a sound like no other, mixing the melodic guitars of the late 80s era hard rock bands, and the lyrics and vocal sound of the 90s grunge era, as well as throwing modern rock elements all around.

In 2019 they released their first single “BATTLEGROUND” which had success in radio stations and streaming platforms alike. Following this release, during the Covid 19 pandemic, the band released “Behind My Back” which showed even more success. Both singles were the most requested song on KLOS and received heavy rotation on that major radio station for many months throughout the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the band worked hard on putting together their social media presence and continue to do so today, showing success on Tiktok and Instagram. The band continues to play shows in Southern California as well as build their social media presence.

The band appeared on Episode 2 and Episode 10 of the show NO COVER - (The only Music Competition show w/ unsigned artists performing original songs).

Indie artist SICKY unleashes quirky pop fun on 'Beans' single. 'Garbage Town' LP is out now

"This music is down-the-middle catchy and clever. It is, at the same time, gleeful, tuneful, and a hell of a lot of fun... recalls such artists as Gene, Manic Street Preachers, Muse and Super Furry Animals" ~ Amplify Music Magazine

"This is intelligent brit-pop-rock that presents some delightful off-the-rails fun" ~ The Spill Magazine

"It’s pop, yes, but pop that comes from the streets, pop that has had a tough upbringing, pop with dirt on its face and blood on its knuckles" ~ Big Takeover Magazine

"There is something in the balance of weight and jauntiness, the lyrics that get deeper and darker the more you contemplate them, the fine line it walks between pop and a hard place, between edge and accessibility" ~ Dancing About Architecture

British solo artist SICKY presents 'Beans', a complex melodic slice of alt-pop with slick lyrics, from his thickly layered sophomore album 'Garbage Town'. This 12-track collection was supported by three singles - the title track 'Garbage Town',  'The Bridge' and 'A Bite Without A Mark'

SICKY is the solo project of Mick Butler, his brand of melodic Britpop-infused indie rock spells good news for fans of Beck, Supergrass and early Blur. Originally from the Black Country region of England, he is now based in Shropshire.

"This album continues the theme of shaking off dark days and making better things happen. It also includes songs that are just quirky bits of pop fun. 'Beans', for instance, is a tale of someone I know who cannot be named. This friend has become infamous for his loose behaviour so I’ve likened him to Beans, the family cat. Songs 'None of That' and 'Protect Me Protect Mine' were very much inspired by the invasion of Ukraine. It's so hard to believe this can still happen in the 21st century," says SICKY.

While Mick Butler has had his run of playing in bands, ranging from the brass soaked pop of Papa Mantra to the dirty stomp of SUMO, he now derives pleasure from banging out tunes and crafting new material. Literally everything you hear in his music is him squeezing noises out of anything that'll sing.

"Life inspires me.Things that happen to me or people around me, good or bad. I tend to write when I least expect it. I never sit down and plan to write something. All my albums have been accidents. If you like dark matter, heart felt musings, rough edge diamonds, heart on sleeve kinda music, then please give Garbage Town a listen... It might just leave a mark," says SICKY.

The new album comes a year after his lockdown album 'Bowling Balls', which was partially inspired by Prince and Bowie, as well as Ray Bradbury's book 'The Martian Chronicles'.

The full 'Garbage Town' album is out now, available across all good digital platforms, including via Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp, where it can be obtained directly from the artist.
