Psychedelic Stoner/Doom Metal Upstarts Tortuga Sign Worldwide Record Deal with Napalm Records

The four piece from Poland is working on new music for 2022

Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of Psychedelic Stoner and Doom Metal outfit TORTUGA from Poland! After making a giant impact on the scene in 2017 with their self-titled EP, followed by their H.P. Lovecraft inspired album Deities (2020) that gathered hundreds of thousands of streams across all streaming platforms, TORTUGA is ready to dive into the next chapter of their career!

TORTUGA are currently working on new music, set for release via Napalm Records in 2022.

TORTUGA about signing to Napalm Records:

“We weren’t very respectful towards the Lovecraftian Deities on our second LP, so they punished mankind with a pandemic and made it impossible for us to tour with our album. Gladly, they are merciful, and they gave us a second chance in the form of a pretty awesome collaboration with Napalm Records. We are already working on our third album and rest assured that this time we won't mock any deities. We learned our lesson.”

TORTUGA are:

Marmur - Drums

Heszu - Bass

Pablo - Guitars, Vocals

Kłosu - Guitars, Synths, Vocals

IHSAHN TO PERFORM TELEMARK + PHAROS EPS IN THEIR ENTIRETY FOR LIVESTREAM

INCLUDING EXCERPTS FROM DAS SEELENBRECHEN + FEATURING EINAR SOLBERG FROM LEPROUS

Shapeshifting progressive metal pioneer Ihsahn has announced an exclusive set at Munin Live, streaming from his hometown of Notodden on April 4 at 7pm BST/8pm CET/2pm ET.

Once again pushing the boundaries of unconstrained creation, the Norwegian master of the avant-garde will premiere both of his latest critically acclaimed EPs Telemark and Pharos in their entirety, including tracks that have never been performed live before. The set will also include excerpts from Das Seelenbrechen, and feature Einar Solberg from Leprous.

Get tickets here.

Image 3-27-21 at 7.40 AM.JPG

Having returned to that early black metal sound on Telemark, Ihsahn was due to perform at Norway's Inferno Festival in April 2020, followed by a series of live concerts and festival appearances that would showcase his more extreme work. Canceled due to the pandemic, he says. "We couldn't wait to perform the last EP. I even ordered stage props with David Thiérrée's illustrations. The plan was to do Telemark shows through the summer and focus in on my black metal roots. And then as a counterpart, I wanted to do a different show based on the more mellow, experimental side of what I do, trying to connect the two forms together."

He continues, "For many years, I felt that I should do something purely black metal again," explaining how this eventually led to the abstract basis behind Telemark and Pharos. "However, I would feel very limited by that in the form of an album," the artist shares. "And then I would have wanted an outlet for the opposite. I've done the full black metal thing in the past but I'm also not a pop artist. I think it would be hard for me to fill an album within that format. This has been a challenge of limiting myself to a certain expression."

In 2020, Ihsahn released two five-track EPs via Candlelight Records, inspired by and dedicated to his home county of Telemark.

The first, Telemark EP, represents the dark, brutal and aggressive side of Ihsahn's compositional identity. With three new original songs and two ferocious cover versions, it represents a celebration of the defiant spirit that first inspired him to follow a creative path, forming Emperor, three decades ago. Listen to "Stridig."

The second, Pharos EP, is the light to Telemark's dark. Pharos features three original compositions and two covers: A delicate but true-to-the-original version of "Manhattan Skyline" by Norway's own pop progenitors A-ha (featuring Leprous frontman Einar Solberg on vocal duties) and the haunting "Roads," originally by British trip-hop collective Portishead. Recorded at his home studio, with additional drums by Tobias Solbakk at Jukes Joint Studio, Pharos is musically and conceptually a reverse image of Telemark.

Full Ihsahn merch options are available here.

ABOUT IHSAHN:

Since 1991, IHSAHN has defied expectations and pushed boundaries. Launching his solo career in 2006 with The Adversary, he has sought to maintain the black metal blueprint that he helped devise with the world-shattering EMPEROR, while mischievously exploring progressive dreamscapes, avant-garde jazz, electronica, darkwave, ear-crushing tech-metal and ambient meditations. Each full-length album has had an element of surprise and delight, where the architect plays out his creative vision by building on an unwavering zeal for the shock and awe that keeps his listeners on their toes.

KHANDRA Reveals New Album Details, Shares First Track

Belarusian black metal entity KHANDRA will be releasing its new full-length, 'All Occupied by Sole Death,' via Season of Mist Underground Activists on May 28! The cover artwork, tracklist, and details can be found below. Listen to the band's demolishing first single "Irrigating Lethal Acres with Blood"
'All Occupied by Sole Death' is available for pre-orders at the Season of Mist shop HERE.

"The only horrible thing in the world is ennui… That is the one sin for which there is no forgiveness." – Oscar Wilde

Shrouded in a veil of mystery and death, Belarussian black metal act KHANDRA will soon unleash their new offering, ‘All occupied by sole Death,’ upon mankind. Characterized by aggressiveness, dissonance and by creating a strong sense of atmosphere, the band’s third assault seamlessly fits in with the wave of black metal fronted by MGŁA and BLAZE OF PERDITION.

KHANDRA’s first revelations were perpetrated in October 2017 under the banner ‘All is of no avail,’ which subsequently merged with its successor ‘There’s no division outside existence’ in October 2018. These seeds sprouted even more fatal progression of metastases which transformed into ‘All occupied by sole Death.’

"Khandra" [xɐnˈdra] is a term that describes the feeling of crippling listlessness or melancholy that takes one over when in a state of boredom. However, the band's overarching concept challenges this notion of ennui, attempting to exceed the limits of the imagination, utilizing music as a vessel of expression that has no emotional or logical confines.

THE UNGUIDED Releases Exciting New Video for “Where Love Comes To Die”

Get your copy of their latest album, Father Shadow, NOW!

As a surprise and special thank you to their fans, Swedish melodic death metal unit THE UNGUIDED have just released a new official music video for the dreamy crusher “Where Love Comes To Die”.

With their new track, the Swedes once again prove that the well-balanced symbiosis of pop-inspired elements in combination with merciless heaviness and lyrics with depth succeeds with ease and that their songs absolutely stay in your head. In four minutes, the track takes you on a journey through a diverse sound construct and makes you scream for more!

THE UNGUIDED's Richard Sjunnesson states: "We’ve been sitting on this video for quite some while now! Our first thought was to save it for an eventual tour but that’s not going to happen in quite some time, so we just decided to do an interactive event with the fans to “unlock” the new music video. It’s for the only ballad on the album Father Shadow and we once again got the opportunity to work with Patric Ullaeus who filmed both “Crown Prince Syndrome” & “Where Love Comes To Die” during the same day! Roger and my sister and her husband can be seen in the video as the actors."

With Father Shadow, THE UNGUIDED comprised of the brothers and founders of SONIC SYNDICATE – breaks down the barriers between melodic death metal, metalcore and fitting electronic sounds. Clean hooklines explode in classifying screams, leading up to a unique symbiosis of pure harshness. With brutal shouts, an unmistakably catchy chorus and a huge chunk of honest words, “Crown Prince Syndrome'' unveils the burden of an innate identity. The perfect symbiosis of Richard Sjunnesson’s forceful vocal pitch and Jonathan Thorpenberg’s clean vocals convinces to the fullest extent. Tracks like the banger “Never Yield” and “War of Oceans” pierce straight into your eardrums. Let yourself be drawn into the deep, dark underbelly of “Stand Alone Complex”, capturing your mind with ruthlessly harsh drums. “Gaia”, featuring Erik Engstrand, marks a new chapter in the era of THE UNGUIDED: harder, faster but always on point. With heavy handed cover versions of their own classic SONIC SYNDICATE tracks “Jailbreak”, “Denied” and “Jack of Diamonds”, the four piece also thrives in reminiscence – and reveals a new musical entity. Follow THE UNGUIDED into the deep shadows of the past and the abyss of the future!

THE UNGUIDED on their latest album:

“We started to work on the follow up to And the Battle Royale by the end of 2018 after the tour was done. I think that particular album was a lot about figuring out the band’s new identity and writing together after boarding a new member and undeniably it was well received. Father Shadow is all about taking that experience, refining the process and push it to the next level. We have grown together solidly as a band and I think it shows a lot on this album. The songwriters in the band all come from different schools and write a bit differently musically, on this album everyone got equal airtime just to pump the diversity without losing the feel of the band. Lyrically it pushes the story and concept forward and finally ties up some ends that have been loose since Fragile Immortality (2014), something I think the hardcore fans will appreciate. It was also fun to go back and revisit those old SONIC SYNDICATEtracks for the bonus material and I think we managed to do our own thing to honor the songs with a mint 2020 production. Utterly, we created the songs and album we’d love to listen to ourselves and we succeeded with that and hope you’ll like it as much as we do!”

THE UNGUIDED Line-Up:

Richard Sjunnesson - Vocals

Jonathan Thorpenberg - Vocals / Guitars

Roger Sjunnesson - Guitars

Richard Schill - Drums

ZERO TRUST RELEASE DEBUT EP AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR “BIRCH”

FEATURING MEMBERS OF COHEED AND CAMBRIA, BULLDOZE, AND MORE

OUT NOW VIA EQUAL VISION RECORDS

STREAM: Zero Trust

The New York-based group Zero Trust celebrated the release of their self-titled debut today in partnership with Equal Vision Records. Zero Trust might be a new name, but they boast résumé credits spanning decades of the most creative, cutting-edge pockets of the area's storied hardcore scene. With a lineup consisting of members of Coheed and Cambria, Bulldoze, Full Scale Riot, Agents of Man, Skarhead, and more, the group formed as a creative outlet during the quarantined isolation of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On their inaugural release, Zero Trust expands upon their collective experience, blurring the lines between hardcore, metal, and alternative rock with substantive lyrical themes from vocalist BJ Allen, who reflects on the socio-political turmoil that has erupted throughout the past year. To accompany the release, Zero Trust also shared the official music video for the opening track “Birch”. Zero Trust is out now and available to stream here.

Speaking on the single, BJ Allen (vocals) says:
“Birch is about exploring the part of your mind that knows the whole system is against you, while also knowing that if humanity were to be unified, civil and just we would be in a much better position.”

This March, Zero Trust partners with Equal Vision Records for the release of their self-titled EP, featuring dual singles “Birch” and “Get It”. Having partially written the record pre-pandemic, Zero Trust finished the writing process virtually and recorded at the band’s Barrel Hannah Studio in Nyack, New York. The band’s debut is an immediately hard-hitting and emotional experience, balancing their years of collective songwriting experience with a focus on pushing heavy music forward. Across the two tracks, vocalist BJ Allen reflects on how the systems in our society are working against the working class, and the collective reality that our world is permanently changed. Not satisfied by simply rearranging the same ingredients from the myriad of genres the members have already made a lasting impact on, Zero Trust opts for channeling their aggression into a new form that can’t be pigeonholed.

Zero Trust is: Vocalist BJ Allen (Full Scale Riot, Ghidrah, GMK), guitarists Zack Thorne (Bulldoze, Agents of Man, Skarhead, etc.) and Mike Milewski (Bulldoze, Homicidal, etc.), Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria) on bass and backing vocals, and drummer Evan Rossiter (Full Scale Riot, Organyc).

German Acapella Metal Innovators VAN CANTO Reveal Exciting Official Teaser for Eighth Full-Length Album

New Album, To The Power Of Eight, to be Released on June 4, 2021

Pre-Order NOW

Louder than any guitar!

The world's most exciting acapella metal masters VAN CANTO return with their energetic and unique Rakkatakka-power and are set to release their highly anticipated, eighth inimitable offering, To The Power Of Eight, on June 4, 2021 via Napalm Records. Prepare for an outstanding vocal offering smashing in with full force! The record marks another milestone in the band's impressive career and presents VAN CANTO as a coherent entity stronger than ever!

With an impressive new teaser, VAN CANTO draw their devotees into a flawless universe and sonic adventure to deliver a glimpse of what can be expected in this multifaceted spectrum of vocal virtuosity. Adapted to the visual concept of the new record, this promising insight allows every band member to shine in high profile: A hypnotizing, harmonizing layer of drums smooths the way for vocal interpretation that only VAN CANTO can offer!

VAN CANTO states:

“The teaser presents an epic intro of our new album and heats up the anticipation for all twelve tracks in total: Eight original numbers and four cover versions (Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth, Queen and AC/DC). From ballads to proper double bass, you can find everything in there!”

German acapella metal at its best!

Bringing pure vocal power to the metal world since 2006, VAN CANTO set the stage for their very own genre and never failed in surprising their fans and beyond, while showcasing that metal can be heavy as hell without any riffage. With their previous full length, Trust in Rust(2018), the German rarity reworked its lineup, consisting of seven members since then. For To The Power Of Eight, the unit once again joined forces with Philip Dennis “Sly” Schunke, who had been the lead singer on their first six studio records. Sly joins lead vocalists Inga Scharf and Hagen Hirschmann on all twelve flawless tracks as third vocalist and special guest. It’s clear that this peerless piece of music was written with three voices in mind: To The Power Of Eight embodies a special sense of common bond and presents VAN CANTOin undeniable peak form!

VAN CANTO on the new album:

“Being able to present an album after 15 years of band history, where three lead singers share the microphone hand in hand, makes us incredibly proud. Due to the pandemic situation we had a lot of time to work on To The Power Of Eight and put all our heart and soul into the compositions, the arrangements and the production. Originally we planned to have Sly as guest vocalist for one song – but it turned out to be twelve in total in the end. If someone would ask for one record to present VAN CANTO the most suitable way, we would choose To The Power Of Eight.”

Pre-order the new album, To The Power Of Eight, NOW

From their own original speed driven tracks, like flaring “Dead By The Night”, raise-your-fist animated “Heads Up High” or mid-tempo, heart-warming “Turn Back Time”, to anthemic heavy metal covers such as Amon Amarth’s “Raise Your Horns”, Iron Maiden’s “Run To The Hills” or AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”, VAN CANTO always manages to easily serve their own unique take with every output. On the one hand, To The Power Of Eight reflects a well experienced collective that has gathered several top 50 entries on the German album charts and played numerous shows around the globe and festivals like 70k Tons Of Metal, Wacken and Masters of Rock. But at the same time, it presents these energetic visionaries of acapella metal, who are far from resting on what they’ve achieved so far.

To The Power Of Eight will be available in the following formats:

-1 CD Digipack

-Digital Album

VAN CANTO is:

Hagen Hirschmann - Lead Vocals

Inga Scharf - Lead Vocals

Ross Thompson - Higher Rakkatakka Vocals

Stefan Schmidt - Lower Rakkatakka Vocals

PARTS PER MILLION have released their new single "Find the Light."

Stream and Download - "Find the Light" https://ingroov.es/find-the-light

"This song was always special to me. I held the guitar and vocal part for years, with only the ideas that the song grew in to. When we brought it to Kevin at Halo, we had no words for it, and weren’t really sure if it would get done. We talked amongst ourselves about incorporating
death, the upside down from Stranger Things, and the other side, or afterlife. The final thought became about one singular moment. The last consciousness, slipping into the final unconsciousness" says Paul McSweeney.

He adds, "How powerful is the love you share with the people that mean the most to you?
Does it conquer all things of this life? Does it transcend time? If you don't believe in something beyond this life, do you believe that there is somewhere special for that person when they are gone? What if it's only in our hearts and minds? What if that's the same thing? These are the places we want to take the people who watch our video. It’s a powerful message about love, and the hope that it’s waiting on the other side."

Parts Per Million is an independent rock band from the New England area founded by singer/songwriter Paul McSweeney and guitarist Brian Bailey. The band rounded out its line up with bassist Alex Mark's and drummer David MacCaulay. The band uses each members abilities and different influences as the catalyst to form a sound surpassing something to be listened to and become something to be experienced.

Parts Per Million intertwines the 90's era heavy rock and grunge while incorporating something that is rarely heard in rock music with four part singing harmonies, soaring guitar solos, and a chemistry between them that generate a sound that's unlike anything in today's rock scene.

With a strong 2020, given the circumstances, including a nomination for their song "2020 Vision"for "Video of the Year" from the Boston Music Awards, a few releases and live-streams, and re-inventing themselves sonically, Parts Per Million looks forward to 2021 with optimism and a vision. That vision is to change hearts and minds to believe there is always a way through adversity, and something better waiting on the other side.

Psych Rock Icons MONSTER MAGNET to Release Delightfully Psychotic Covers Album A Better Dystopia

Out May 21, 2021 via Napalm Records

Pre-Order HERE

Hear Trippy New Cover of Poo-Bah’s “Mr. Destroyer”

When psychedelic rock icons MONSTER MAGNET got off the plane in the USA after their Powertrip tour of Europe in February 2020, they already realized that they’d dodged a bullet. The band members were all healthy, despite having spent the last week of the month-long excursion gigging overseas, and at that point, many of those countries were in total lockdown. Part two of that tour, North America, was scheduled to begin three weeks later, but the rest is history… no live music, anywhere. So, what’s a band that’s been touring regularly for 30 years to do with this newfound downtime?

Frontman Dave Wyndorf tells the inspired tale below, but without further ado – Napalm Records is pleased to present the next chapter of MONSTER MAGNET’s rabbit hole deep dive, A Better Dystopia (out May 21, 2021): a delightfully (and psychotically) curated collection of 60’s and 70’s proto-metal and late-era psych obscurities covered by the heavy New Jersey legends themselves.

While the album marks a new frontier for MONSTER MAGNET as their first covers record, this is not your typical set of standards released to pass time. A Better Dystopia sees the band pay homage to some of their favorite songs of all time, while reflecting on the paranoia, dystopia and revolution of both now – and then.

Fans can experience a first taste of A Better Dystopia via the swaggering riffs and swirling vocals on album’s first single, “Mr. Destroyer” (originally by Poo-Bah), today via a new video.

Dave Wyndorf says about the birth of A Better Dystopia:

“We all agreed that we would be bored out of our minds within a month of lockdown. MONSTER MAGNET loves the road. It’s a lifestyle. So, I considered our options. Rather than panhandle on the internet, hawking masks and Zoom-rocking practice sessions for dollars, I suggested we record a “bunker record”. A total DIY affair (band only) recorded and mixed in Bob Pantella’s small but potent Freak Shop Studios/rehearsal space right here in New Jersey. But what to record?

I didn’t feel much like writing, but working on anything was better than watching the news as hospitals filled up, people died, and American politics went bat-shit crazy. The world roared “Dystopia! Apocalypse! Revolution!”. I’d heard those words before, and they brought to mind my childhood in the late 60’s/early 70’s… and the music… and short playlist of songs (just one of many) that I’d been carrying around with me on my whatever device to listen to before shows. Of course, these tunes have also been in my head for more or less my whole life. These were not the popular hits of the time. This was like a playlist from the 4th dimension… strange bits of musical obscurity, mostly dredged up from that inglorious and freaky “twilight zone” time that preceded Arena Rock, Heavy Metal, Reggae and Disco. A no-man’s land of hard rock that still had remnants of psychedelia and garage punk but had abandoned any notion of “flower power” or frat house fun. And of course, they rocked.

Yeah, these songs were it.”

Wyndorf is at the top of his game on A Better Dystopia, delivering each lyric in his own inimitable style, and musicians Phil Caivano, Bob Pantella, Garrett Sweeney and Alec Morton own the sound – vintage and old school, dense and heavy, with searing fuzz leads and pounding bass and drums all played in a deft style that's almost been lost in modern music. The album opens with “The Diamond Mine”, as Dave Wyndorf recites a classic monologue by Dave Diamond, an American radio DJ whose programs in the late 60’s and early 70’s helped popularize many psychedelic and acid rock bands. At this point the real trip begins, as the opening chords of the Hawkwind classic “Born To Go” gear up for launch. Tracks like standout “Mr. Destroyer” (Poo-Bah) spur visions of some untold Freak revolution – or perhaps dinosaurs battling on a burning planet at the end of time – creating a perfect blend of hard rock and psychedelia. Feverish “Motorcycle (Straight To Hell)” (Table Scraps) is pure punk fury of the old school tradition, evoking a cross between Iggy Pop and Motörhead as Wyndorf wails "I'm gonna drive it straight to HELL!" Falling even further down the mind-bending rabbit hole, Magnet offers their stunning, whirlwind take on the often-overlooked hard rock classic "Learning To Die" (Dust) and a masterful version the Stooges meets Goth epic, "Solid Gold Hell" (The Scientists). The album closes with a bonus nuclear cover of Morgen’s “Welcome To The Void”, inviting you to restart the ride again and again.

Wyndorf concludes:

“The great bands whose music we lovingly interpret here were (and some still are) on the fringe, underrated, and in our opinion, really, really cool. I think that’s reason enough for us to do this album. Furthermore, A Better Dystopia is a collection of songs that I think reflect (knowingly or unknowingly) a paranoid time in history, but also deflect that same paranoia by owning it, fully. And of course, it ROCKS.”

AUSTIN MEADE SHARES "LYING TO MYSELF" VIDEO

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Austin Meade has dropped the video for "Lying to Myself."

"We're all clowns at heart looking for a place to fit in," Meade explains about the song and the visual. "It's fun to see the initial fall and eventual rise of the main character. I feel like I've been there before. Fitting all that storyline into just a few minutes was a challenge...there are a lot of hidden gems. You don't have to take everything so seriously."

The song appears on the artist's Snakefarm Records' debut Black Sheep, which is out now. Get it here. Also, the single "Happier Alone" has already racked up an impressive 5 million streams, which is a massive feat for a new artist such as Meade.

ABOUT AUSTIN MEADE:

Austin Meade's songs and stories are contradictory yet cohesive. On his Snakefarm Records debut, Black Sheep, his influences — musical and otherwise — are as varied and rich as the small-town Texas soil that nurtured his talent and yielded these 12 stellar songs ranging from multi-layered musicality and storytelling to dark alt-pop to new age and Sabbath-inspired. Thanks to his metal-and classic-rock loving dad, Meade got to see bands like Judas Priest and worshipped Whitesnake at a young age. In junior high, he related to the intense emo-rock of Paramore and Fall Out Boy, as well as the power of songwriters like John Mayer. Yet, thanks to plainspoken but deep heartland songwriters like Tom Petty, and cutting his teeth touring in the Texas and Oklahoma Red Dirt scene, Meade’s music overflows with wide-open soulfulness. He was a drummer for years, even teaching to pay the bill. Meade eventually found his true voice when he began playing guitar as a teen in his pastor father’s church. Those experiences lend both a gravitas and rebelliousness to Meade's songs and self.

UK Alt-Metal Upstarts VEXED Release Thrilling New Single + Music Video, “Epiphany”

Vicious Debut Album, Culling Culture, out May 21, 2021

Pre-Order NOW

The UK’s most exciting new talent – fearless alt-metal upstarts VEXED – just released their second single “Epiphany”, cut from their upcoming album Culling Culture (out May 21 via Napalm Records). Accompanied by a brand new music video, their second offering features Megan Targett’s multi-faceted clean vocal delivery juxtaposed with otherworldly auras, resonating, melodic rhythms and a bold message.

"The next big thing from the UK? Very likely! VEXED are a brute prog-deathcore hybrid that flattens everything - somewhere between Meshuggah, Periphery and Thy Art Is Murder. Fresh, emotional and extreme in every respect!” - EMP GER

“This is a must watch band of 2021.” - KNOTFEST

VEXED on their second single:

“Learning to love and accept yourself can be an uphill struggle, especially in a world where people online are free to pick apart every inch of you. Epiphany is a vulnerable yet cutthroat track about falling victim to self-loathing, battling mental illness, and finally discovering how to not give a fuck about what anyone thinks of you.”

Facing very personal experiences, Culling Culture is a tribute to hate, betrayal and anger, whilst also reflecting post-modern society with strikingly honest songwriting and heavy groove. Moreover, for as confident as they are musically, VEXED is as poignant lyrically. The title of the album, Culling Culture, and portions of its contents deliver the band’s unfiltered response to the world’s latest social phenomena of public ostracism, “cancel culture”.

Unrelenting lead vocalist Megan Targett’s vicious vocal assault blending venomously low growls, soaring cleans and razor-sharp rap-like deliveries (see “Fake” and “Weaponise”) is backed by the pure technical proficiency of bandmates Willem Mason-Geraghty (drums), Jay Bacon (guitar) and Al Harper (bass). The warning instrumental “Ignorant” prefaces the record’s menacing atmosphere and provides a flawless basis for smashing wake up call “Hideous” and fiery, threatening tracks “Fake” and “Narcissist”. Ghostly “Aurora” and disrespectfully heavy album-closer “Lazarus” showcase Targett’s multi-faceted clean vocal delivery while clashing otherworldly auras with resonating, melodic rhythms. “Epiphany” blends both, offering a bold message of moving past self-loathing, while superciliously weighty offering “Weaponise” seethes between violent hatred and ambient darkness.

Pre-Order VEXED’s debut album Culling Culture NOW!

Initialized and conceived after Serafino Perugino, President and A&R director of Frontiers Music Srl, reached out to Tracii about working on a new musical project for the label, the idea of a classic heavy metal sounding album was born. The music style on "Evil And Divine" is much heavier than what one would expect from these two musicians and is firmly planted in the 'metal' category. While Tracii wrote the music for the album, the fact that Michael Sweet has been writing/playing in an increasingly heavier style in the latter era, and extremely well-received, Stryper albums made him a very logical choice to sing for the band. And since doom metal, often known for having powerful singers like Messiah Marcolin from Candlemass, was a massive influence on Tracii's songwriting here, Sweet's ability and range were a perfect match.

Line-up:

Tracii Guns - Guitars

Michael Sweet - Vocals

Adam Hamilton - Drums

Mitch Davis - Bass

Johnny Martin - Bass (We Fought)

"Before I became the lead guitarist for KISS almost 20 years ago, I worked behind the scenes with Kiss on and off the road. I have a unique perspective and appreciation for how hard our crew works day in and day out. I've been there." - TOMMY THAYER (KISS)

"Everyone knows that the musician community has suffered. When we get done with a tour, I know that our crew is getting ready to head out on another tour, already. They spend 10-11 months on the road, this is their and their families' livelihoods. I know these families are hurting. I had donated some drumsticks and other items in the past, but decided that, this time, I wanted it to be something special and selected a unique hardshell snare case created by Michael Berg of Humes & Berg and a snare drum that I used on The David Lee Roth Band 2004 tour. Hopefully, this helps the crews and gets the fans inspired to help build our industry back up." - RAY LUZIER (KORN)

"I’ve been a touring musician for over twenty eight years and roadies have made it possibly at every step of my career. Roadies are free spirits who solve a myriad of problems daily while out on the road. I donated cause I love talking to awesome people and I thought it could motivate our audience to dig deep and help our industry get back on its feet." - PNUT (311)

Almost everyone you know has seen a concert that has moved them. Those productions can take over 100+ traveling crew members to set up by the time doors open.

Before and during the show they sweat and hustle to get everything ready. After the show they spend more hours erasing evidence that they were ever there at all. Many of these key players work an average of 20 hour days, then move on to the next city to make it happen all over again.

Many of these crew members, "roadies," have been doing this as a career for decades. Some of these roadies, while experts in this field, have never had any other job experience. Since the world pandemic, well over a hundred thousand of these people are left with no income and no financial assistance.

There are no concerts or live events for the foreseeable future. At the beginning of 2020, job opportunity ceased to exist and 2021 remains uncertain. Many are unable to claim unemployment as their expert level trade skills are not recognized and they do not qualify. This on-going problem is leaving 100s of roadies without a secure livelihood.

The government has fallen short. Contacting congressmen and women, senators, and governors to raise the issue has been met with no resolution. Their replies are a formal brush-off and roadies are left hitting a dead end.

The goal with this gofundme is to offer some relief to some of the dedicated people in the roadie community. Just like you, they have families, mortgages, car payments, and day care. Commonly these workers lean on their savings between tour cycles, but those funds have run thin or run out. Please donate if you can, every little helps.

The brand new EP from rock band Kiss Kiss Bang, "Hungry, High & Seeing Things" is the culmination of a band living in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 pandemic left a lot of artist stuck at a stand-still. With the world shut down and nothing to do but wait, artist do what artist do...create. Over the course of the pandemic, Kiss Kiss Bang came together, safely, and recorded four new tracks. With a hired drummer and one founding member short, the band spent three days beating out these new songs before going into the studio. This EP is the direct result from that hard work. This is a record you're going to want to turn way up...ALL the way up.

“A classic rock n’ roll quintet born and bred in the heart of western Kentucky form a powerhouse of a raw and electric modern slam band with monstrous guitars and Eagles-style vocals that carry near constant three part harmonies. Accompanied by a thundering rhythm section of groove running bass and wild n’ out, heavy hitting drum beats that act as a constant heartbeat to the already tight and locked in Bowling Green showmen, Kiss Kiss Bang have been one of the top tier, heavyweights of the local music scene for only a few years. A complete renovation from the ground up in 2018 changed not only the sound of the band, but the soul itself. Sharing stages with multiple national acts over the last couple of years have helped the young bloods get a little more long in the tooth and more the wiser at just what it takes to not only get to the top, but fking stay there!”

Huntington Beach, CA based Heavy Rock band THEM EVILS is tearing into 2021 with their newest, party anthem single "Pour out Another One"! Produced by Jim Kaufman, the live video for "Pour out Another One" was directed and edited by the band's own David Delaney.

“Pour out Another One” is best described as an anthemic middle finger to what COVID-19 has done to the music industry over the course of the past year. After linking up with Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft (Escape The Fate) and Aaron Edwards, we wanted to write a song that embodied the attitude of just saying 'f*ck it, let’s throw a few back' and party our way through this." - Jake Massanari

Legendary Rock Musician John Oates Joins Forces With Brass-Playing Sensation Saxsquatch to Reimagine the 1982 Classic Hit “Maneater” on Monstercat

In an unlikely fusion of two musical greats, the iconic John Oates of Daryl Hall & John Oates has teamed up with the viral sax-playing star Saxsquatch, to transform the original chart-topping hit “Maneater” into an electro-spun classic. Injected with club-inspired grooves and dance-floor worthy basslines, the duo put a modern spin on the Daryl Hall & John Oates #1 record, fit for new audiences across eras and genres.

He brings the funk out of the forest and puts a smile on the face of the world. Meeting him in the woods to shoot the video was a life changing moment. As soon as we began recording, I knew we had something special. The mark of a good song is that it can be reimagined in lots of ways and this is without a doubt the coolest version I've ever heard.”

Saxsquatch adds, “I like music that gets people's big feet tapping along. It's been a tough year for everyone. We could all use music and stories that help us dance and feel less alone. I know a lot about feeling alone.”

Tomorrow (March 20), John Oates will also host Oates Song Fest 7908, a charity livestream benefitting Feeding America. Alongside his co-host Saxsquatch and bandmate Daryl Hall, a slew of pop and rock icons will perform including Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Sammy Hagar (Van Halen), Sara Bareilles, Gavin DeGraw, Jewel, and others. Tune in here.
