New Studio Album Coming In 2021

Ukrainian rock trio SINOPTIK are pleased to share the first offering from their upcoming studio LP. The group has released their new single and accompanying music video for "Black Soul Man", which fans can check out here. The occult and otherworldly track is inspired by the band's experiences after relocating from their war-torn home city of Donetsk to Kiev in 2014, after which they found themselves treated like enemies and second-class citizens by their own countrymen.

Lead singer Dmitriy Afanasiev talks about his experience of moving to Kiev.

"We had to leave our home and move to Kiev, and this where we as native Ukrainians were treated as some sort of second class citizens. So many people like us were segregated and oppressed just on the basis of the city of origin, where we were born. We were told that we are different and it's our fault the war started. We were faced with radical social segregation and inequality, in our own country with people of the same race. We do understand that this oppression is initiated and supported by politicians, but society is now responsible for this too"

The music video for "Black Soul Man" illustrates a well told story of a mysterious character, who gives people a second chance to live on this planet. He believes in the goodness of each person, and offers them to rethink their ways and live a new better life. Even though he is killed, he keeps resurrecting and brings people back to life, hoping that one day someone will understand his ideas and implement them in their lives

Dmitriy Afanasiev says this about the meaning behind "Black Soul Man".

"Music is a tool, which should have a clear message - to change the world for better. “It’s your time to change the fate” is our main message in this song, as each of us can change his or her own destiny. And if we are united all together we have the power to alter the fate of humanity and the world. We all can change and make our planet a better place by becoming kinder to each other, more understanding and tolerant. We need to build a new future now. Now is the time for us to unite, but most of the people don’t seem to comprehend that."

BENIGHTED Shares Special Halloween Single, "Stab the Weakest"

French deathgrind masters BENIGHTED are celebrating Halloween early with a brand new single, "Stab the Weakest," which pays homage to slasher Michael Myers! The song is available on all digital platforms HERE

The band has also unveiled a brand new Halloween shirt design, which can now be ordered via the official BENIGHTED Big Cartel store.

Vocalist Julien Truchan comments: "We all agree to say that these times we are living in really suck, so everything we can do to cheer us up is welcome! We, Benighted, decided to prepare something special for you and do it the HALLOWEEN way! That's why we've released a new track today called 'Stab The Weakest,' a brutal track where you might recognize one of your favorite horror movies theme's....

"With this track, we also have released a very cool shirt designed by our brother Gary Ronaldson, who did a fantastic job again! You can order it and other items on our brand-new Big Cartel shop!"

Earlier this year,BENIGHTEDrecently released the gory, disturbing music video for their latest single, "Nails," which can be seenHERE.

The band's latest album, 'Obscene Repressed,' was released earlier this year and can be streamed, downloaded, and orderedHERE.
Spawned from the darkest crevices of the human psyche comes ‘Obscene Repressed,’ the twisted new offering from French deathgrind giants Benighted. Horror and metal have always had a harmonious marriage, but Benighted take this cultural fusion to the next level, delivering a riveting and demented story unlike anything before. No Stephen King novel nor Wes Craven film could ever compare to the sick horrors buried inside this brutal opus.

“This album tells the story of a psychotic boy with oedipal issues,” explains Benighted mastermind Julien Truchan, who is responsible for the concept behind ‘Obscene Repressed.’ “His mother finds his cleft-palate disgusting sod he hides it from her sight at home. Among the symptoms of his psychosis, he sees himself as deeply deformed, has troubles with boundaries, and finds parallel ways to handle his growing sexual urges. He has a deep hatred for his father because he'd like to take his place by his mother’s side.

“As an act of ‘going back inside mom,’ he surprises her with dinner, cooking a meal with his own lips that he cuts off with his dad’s razor. His mother only realizes what she just ate when he takes off his bandages at the end of the dinner.”

But where does one draw inspiration from when it comes to such an imaginative and unique tale of horror? Offering this chilling glimpse into where he finds his muses for Benighted, Truchan says, “I work full time as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital and most of my inspiration for the lyrics in Benighted comes from my professional experience and the patients I have taken care of.” While he’s known to enjoy some classic horror films and the occasional Stephen King novel, he doesn’t relate any fiction to his writing. “My inspiration doesn’t come from movies I’ve watched, because most of the time, they’re giant clichés about psychiatry and far away from the reality.”

The unnerving story, however, is only a fraction of what defines ‘Obscene Repressed.’ Musically, the album is an unrelenting beast that delivers a panoramic aural assault on the listener. Indeed, Benighted put forth a level of brutality and speed that references some of the genre’s greats like Cannibal Corpse and Aborted, but overall, the record exudes a contemporary feel. There is no doubt that ‘Obscene Repressed’ was born in this millennium, drawing influence from some of the giants who defined metal over the past two decades. This isn’t your typical deathgrind album as it unquestionably lends itself to the shaping of the genre’s new generation. Perhaps this is in part due to the diversity that has existed within Benighted, whose lineup has included members Necrophagist, Abbath, Sabaton, and Aborted, among others. However, it’s also evident that the band were influenced by some of the icons of the early aughts, such as Slipknot, to whom the band pay tribute with a cover of “Get This.”

Featuring this bonus cover wasn’t solely about wearing Benighted’s influences on their sleeves, but also about challenging themselves as musicians. ““We really like challenges!” exclaims Truchan. “When we decide to cover a song, we want it to mean something because their music was important to us and our musical history!” This track was an obscure choice, and a deliberate one at that. “The first Slipknot album came as a great surprise and it was out of the question to cover their ‘hits’ as that's too obvious and easy! Covering a band like Slipknot and giving it the Benighted sound was a very cool experience. At the beginning of the track when Corey is asking for a scream, of course I made a pig squeal! [laughs]”

The diverse vibes behind ‘Obscene Repressed’ is further punctuated with a stellar lineup of guest musicians and vocalists, such as Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta on “Implore the Negative,” Cytotoxin’s Sebastian Grihm on “The Starving Beast,” and Disbelief’s Karsten Jäger on “Mom, I Love You The Wrong Way.” “Guest vocals are a tradition for the band,” Truchan explains. “On ‘Obscene Repressed,’ we have three amazing vocalists who were chosen considering the style of the track and what their voice could bring in terms of brutality and originality!

“Inviting my brother in arms Grimo from Cytotoxin on the track ‘The Starving Beast’ was obvious as it’s a very ‘martial’ and brutal track that it would create such violence in the super-fast switch of our vocal combinations! And for the record, I refused to tell him the concept of the story before he sent me his vocal parts, because it’s written like slaves were given to the lions in an arena in front of a bloodthirsty crowd, but it’s in fact about the psychotic boy masturbating in front of his dolls and toys and ‘The Starving Beast’ is actually his penis! [laughs] We laughed a lot when I told him the story afterwards!”

He continues, “About Jagger, he already made vocals on our ‘Icon’ album, but when we wrote ‘Mom, I Love You The Wrong Way,’ I surprised myself trying to imitate him on the chorus, so I thought that it had to be him, as he has such a killer and particular voice! The result is amazing!

“And the most surprising guest on the record is of course Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed! I am such a huge fan of Hatebreed! He spoke about Benighted last year on his podcast so I tried to reach him. When I received the mail that he would do it, I was so amazed! The mix of our vocals is so unique in the history of Benighted! ‘Implore The Negative’ has already become a hymn for me and I am very impatient to sing it on stage!”

Benighted have spent the past few years rising from the underground and dominating stages across the world, including appearances at major festivals such as Hellfest, Inferno Fest, and so many more. The band, however, never imagined this level of success upon their formation. Truchan muses, “When we started, it was just a band of friends. We rehearsed for years every Saturday in my dad's garage and had parties in the evening. We just wanted to have fun with friends, but then we decided to tour as much as possible and see what could happen.” The sudden shift in drive paid off. They eventually started touring and performing with their idols, inked a coveted deal with Season of Mist, and have been the subject of much critical acclaim. “22 years later, things have been beyond my craziest dreams,” adds Truchan.

Benighted sees the greater picture when they pen their albums. It isn’t just about the band’s future, but is about connecting with the fans who have aided in the band’s success. ‘Obscene Repressed’ is no different, serving as an anthem for both dedicated Benighted fans as well as the new listeners they will inevitably win over with this offering. “Obscene Repressed’ is a psychological horror movie to watch with the ears and I hope people will experience it this way!” Truchan exclaims. He also adds “that all the tracks really are made for the stage; I can’t wait to tour and see the moshpit start and, of course, hear the fans roar the chorus with me!”

With the release of ‘Obscene Repressed’ in 2020, there’s no question that the band will keep climbing on their upward trajectory as they continue to make waves in the deathgrind community with their unique concepts, vicious precision, and boldness to experiment outside of the genre’s confines. This is an album for a new era. ’Obscene Repressed’ is the future.

Ra released their new single titled “Intercorrupted” along with an accompanying video

RA - The official video for "Intercorrupted" by Ra from the album of the same name coming 3/19/21 on Wake Up Music Rocks!. Director and Cinematographer - Cur...

The single will be on the band's upcoming album, also titled Intercorrupted that will come out via Wake Up! Music Rocks on March 19, 2021.

"With everyone releasing songs about the state of the world in 2020, we felt that there was an opportunity to say something about the state of the mind. Divisiveness does not exist in a vacuum. Your cause most certainly results in an effect, making it impossible to truly cast blame for the things currently that we are all up in arms against. Your personal beliefs require an adversary or contrary position in order to germinate in the current world of social media and sensational news coverage. We are part of the global synapses in this hivemind world. I believe there is a little hope to evolve as a species if we don't redefine and accept our own role in creating the very things we abhor. We are intertwined. We are Intercorrupted" says Sahaj Ticotin.

He adds, "Since the beginning of the band, we've always wanted to make a ballsy video. Something cryptic but cinematic...with maybe a little action. We certainly bit off a lot with the concept but with Curt Pair filming it, we knew it was going to look like a movie. We shot the whole thing in one day which is ambitious enough but it was also 112 degrees in Arizona and we had on full suits. Ra has only had one other video in our 20 yr history as a band so we went big. The concept was for the band to play the villains but that we were not completely without ideology or reason. We believe that mankind has lost the right to have its freedom and hope and that for the sake of the world it must be hidden away. We are in the process of that when we get tracked down by our heroine who dispatches us one by one and then sets it all right again releasing hope and freedom back into the world. It relates to the song in that we are intertwined in our faults and fear and that we should not take hope and freedom for granted. I've always like the Matrix and Inception. We were trying to invoke elements of them both."

“Music is the heart of life and we at Wake Up! Music couldn’t be happier to present “Intercorrupted”, the first single from Ra’s newest album. As always, Sahaj Ticotin and Ra bring us the Alt Metal we have been craving and awaiting. This song was unforgettable to me from the first time I heard it. To have Ra on the Wake Up! label still feels like a dream. It is an honor to work with and support such pure artists. Ra’s single “Intercorrupted” as well as the coming album couldn’t be better! Prepare yourself for something great" says Pepper Gomez, Owner of Wake Up! Music Rocks.

Musicality is the connective tissue binding and bridging Ra’s past to its present. It is also responsible for a sound so enigmatic it continues transcending time, resonating with a fan base that has yet to allow Ra to release its melodic grip on them. That grip is a culmination of years fraught with trials and triumphs and many lessons learned; however, perseverance and a passionate resolve pushed Ra far past its genesis to become a band still relevant in today’s ever-changing musical landscape.

In the 7 years since Ra’s last studio release, Sahaj has been hard at work replicating the formula for his success by producing other artists while the rest of the band has pursued independent projects; however, collectively, they feel now is the time for a comeback. What makes the timing so special is that all original members of the band will be together again to not only create the new album, but tour it as well. After a very successful re-emergence on 2020’s Shiprocked, the band has again tapped into the fan based that sustained them all these years. Intercorrupted, Ra’s brand new album, is in the process of being completed for release.

Orange County, CA metalcore band BLEED THE SKY released their new single titled "The Devil Will See You Now (TDWSYN)" today via Art is War Records.

Stream and download the new single from Bleed The Sky THE DEVIL WILL SEE YOU NOW https://ingroov.es/the-devil-will-see-you Hunter of the innocent With angel ...

"The Devil Will See You Now" has been through the ringer. This song was written, scrapped, re-written, scrapped again, put on the shelf for months, then finally revisited, reconstructed, re-recorded and now ready for release! We poured our highest levels of aggressive songwriting into this one, and loved every second of it. Lyrically, this song is a very deliberate stand against anyone who has ever harmed an innocent. There is a special place in hell for anyone who preys on the young, and it especially strikes a nerve with us when predators are people of [faith]" says the band.

“The Devil Will See You Now (TDWSYN)" can be streamed/dowloaded at

https://ingroov.es/the-devil-will-see-you

Formed in 2003, California based metalcore band Bleed The Sky are back in full swing after a 10 year absence from the music scene. Following two well received albums released on Nuclear Blast Records, Paradigm in Entropy (2005) and Murder the Dance (2008), the band is once again redefining who they are with the Art Is War Records release This Way Lies Madness (2020). The new lineup consists of Noah Robinson (vocals), Austin D’Amond (drums), Wayne Miller (guitars), Kevin Garcia (guitars) and David Culbert (bass guitar). While both Robinson and D’Amond were active members on both previous albums, Miller was an active member during the Paradigm in Entropy album cycle and Culbert was an active member during the preproduction of Murder the Dance. With this new all-star lineup rounded out by Kevin Garcia, Bleed The Sky returns with an intensity that is familiar to fans of the previous sound, as well as a new brutality that contends with any modern metal genres.

EXTINCTION A.D. RELEASE A SURPRISE EP OF COVERS EXCLUSIVELY ON BANDCAMP

Image 11-1-20 at 10.07 AM.JPG

COVERED ARTISTS INCLUDE, DRI AND THE DEAD KENNEDYS

Long Island Thrash masters Extinction AD have released a fist full of covers today exclusively on Bandcamp. The tracks are all covers of American Hardcore bands from the 1980s including DRI and The Dead Kennedys.

"Early 80's American hardcore is one of, if not my favorite era of music," says vocalist and guitarist Rick Jimenez. "I've always wanted to pay homage to it. Doing it through the lens of Extinction A.D. was not just a lot of fun, but put focus on how much things haven't changed since the Reagan era of the united states."

This is the first bit of music we're hearing from the band since the release of Decimation Treaty in 2018. The sophomore full length was recorded and mixed by Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Obituary) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Iron Reagan, Converge, Obituary). It featured tracks such as “Secret Worlds,” "Age of Revenge," and "In The Wake of Uprising." Decimation Treaty was received well by critics as well. Metal Injection raved that "each song is consistently engaging, evolving and introducing something different as the record flies forward. It's a wild record that guarantees you'll be tossing yourself into a pit." Dead Rhetoric gets straight to the point proclaiming that Decimation Treaty is "all about the riffs."

The list of metal classics that the late/great Ronnie James Dio was responsible for penning or co-penning is endless– “Man on the Silver Mountain,” “Heaven and Hell,” “Holy Diver,” “Rainbow in the Dark,” “The Last in Line,” etc.

And now, in honor of the man (who passed away in 2010 at the age of 67, from stomach cancer), several renowned names of the metal world have united to record a cover of “Stand Up and Shout” – which was originally the lead-off track from Dio’s classic solo debut from 1983, ‘Holy Diver.’

Produced by David Bendeth (who has previous worked with Of Mice And Men, Breaking Benjamin, and I Prevail, among countless others), the track features contributions from the newly-formed LeRoi XIII (Thirteen), which is comprised singer Terry LeRoi (Granny 4 Barrel), guitarists Troy McLawhorn (Evanescence) and Sammy Boller, bassist Aaron Pauley (Of Mice and Men), and drummer Will Hunt (Evanescence). The single will be released on Friday, October 30th, 2020, with 100% of the proceeds/profits from this song go to the Stand Up and Shout

Cancer Fund (for the mission of support, research, and education that furthers early detection, prevention, and treatment of prostate, colon, and stomach cancers).

“I am so pleased with this cover of ‘Stand Up and Shout,’ and I know Ronnie would be so honored.” – Wendy Dio

“This was an amazing and unforgettable experience working with these incredibly talented artists and legendary producer David Bendeth! It’s truly an honor to pay tribute to Ronnie James Dio and to have this opportunity to support Wendy and the Dio Cancer Fund.” -Terry LeRoi

“Working with this great crew of people, and paying homage to Ronnie James Dio, one of the greatest rock singers that ever lived, was an amazing experience...When you hear it, just stand up and shout! FUCK CANCER!” -David Bendeth

“I’ve been a fan of Dio for as long as I can remember. To play on this cover with such amazing musicians was a real honor.” -Sammy Boller

“‘Stand Up and Shout’ is such a timeless and more meaningful than ever classic metal masterpiece. We had a great time making this and knowing that it’s to support the Dio Cancer Fund made this whole experience even better” -Will Hunt

“When I was asked to join these great musicians to record a tribute to Dio with ‘Stand Up and Shout,’ I was honored and excited. When I found out the proceeds would go to this great cause, I was 100% in.” -Troy McLawhorn

When David Bendeth gives me a call to work together, I'm onboard. When that opportunity involves working with incredibly talented musicians like Terry, Troy, Will, and Sammy to recreate a metal classic—with all proceeds from the track going to the Dio Cancer Fund—it doesn't get much better than that!" -Aaron Pauley

The band had a chance to connect with radio/TV personality Matt Pinfield here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipPa17g-Pxk

As fans will soon hear for themselves, new energy and passion has been infused into this song 30 years later, and Stand Up and Shout Board unanimously approved the song. Keeping true to the honor and memory of Ronnie James Dio, this song was recorded in the month of May 2020 - which was the month of his passing 10 years ago. And due to COVID-19, all of the events that were planned for the 10th year anniversary of Ronnie’s passing were unfortunately canceled. But through the determination and creativity of these musicians and producer of this song, it was still able to be recorded…despite the virus.

And one can’t overlook the timely nature of the song, and how thematically, it’s more relevant than ever - encouraging empowerment, finding inner strength, using your voice and having the courage to take charge of your destiny. Help keep Ronnie’s legacy, music, and memory alive – and support a great cause – by purchasing, streaming the “Stand Up and Shout” single by LeRoi XIII.

2020. The year people are literally dying to forget. But as humanity struggles to cope with the effects of this pandemic, the fact remains that we’re teetering upon the precipice of something far, far worse. Never a band to shy away from the inconvenient truth, "The Rising Tide" is the second single to be released from The Five Hundred’s upcoming sophomore album, via Long Branch Records. And as this sonic monster-in-the-making begins its long sweep towards our proverbial ragged shores, guitarist Mark Byrne is ready to drag the waters - and reveal the inspiration behind the track.

“The environmental catastrophe that is headed our way will cause more deaths than COVID-19 and the solution will be far more complicated than a simple vaccine. We are all losing our shit at this pandemic, but what’s coming next is so fucked up, we won’t know what hit us. We are simply not ready for this. It’s not as bad as you think – it’s much, MUCH worse. Up until now, the scientific, political and even public discourse has focused on increasing temperatures – degrees Celsius. In the next few years, we will talk about it in terms of meters of sea level rise. Life as we know it, will not be the same, and we are just letting it play out in front of our very own eyes. That depresses me beyond belief, so I had to write about it. We are sinking in a deep blue hell. Many of the people and places we know and love, will be dragged out to the sea. Sit back and enjoy the horror show, because it’s your apocalypse, and you fucking paid for it. Hop on for the ride.”

AETHER REALM Conjures a Dark Fantasy Adventure with Cinematic Music Video for "The Magician"

Tarot Reissue Out Now via Napalm Records

Available in Several New, Unique Formats

This past summer, Napalm Records reissued AETHER REALM’s acclaimed 2017 album, Tarot, featuring the addition of the band's previously standalone single "The Magician". Today, the band has revealed a brand new music video for the track – one you'll have to see to believe! This epic, cinematic dark fantasy adventure features spellbinding VFX, mystic woodland scenery, riffs for days and even a bloody cameo!

Frontman/bassist Vincent "Jake" Jones says about the video:

“Throughout the creation and release of 2017’s Tarot, we encountered many obstacles preventing us from presenting music videos on the scale we envisioned. Now, with the support of director and VFX artist Jaraad Nageer, as well as a team of skilled creatives, we’ve finally created something we feel accurately captures the feeling contained within the music. Prepare to be ensorcelled by 'The Magician'."

AETHER REALM’s massive, now 12-track/70+ minute sophomore release (expanded with the addition of previous standalone single “The Magician” to the new physical edition) garnered notable underground appeal and cemented the band’s mind-blowingly multi-faceted sound as their own – spurring prominent metal blogs such as No Clean Singing and Angry Metal Guy to dub the album as an “enormous accomplishment” and “spectacular”, respectively.

Boasting the production talents of Kile Odell and loosely based on the concept of tarot cards, Tarot begins the masterpiece to come with “The Fool” – beginning modestly, then ominously cascading into a black metal-meets-southern-fried riff inspired fury. Further setting the stage for the remainder of the opus, incendiary title track “Tarot” leans heavier into what fans have now come to love from AETHER REALM – a confident, cinematic melding of spine-tingling symphonic elements, thrashy rhythms and mind-boggling guitar leads. Following folk metal anthem-turned-talent show “King of Cups” (featuring labelmate Christopher Bowes of massive pirate metal titans Alestorm), Tarot continues to blindingly shine with tracks like the metallic ballad-echoed “Death” and sinister orchestral oeuvre “The Devil” – the latter of which should catch any competition shaking in their boots. The remainder of Tarot – capped by the nearly 20-minute heroic “The Sun, The Moon, The Star” – proves that it is indeed possible to flawlessly meld southern Americana-metal riffs with European-tinged symphonic soundscapes.

Tarot is the album that every band wishes they could attempt by their second go-round, yet AETHER REALM have already achieved it and gaze triumphantly ahead!

PHANTOM ELITE ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM "TITANIUM"

Subscribe To Our Channel: http://radi.al/SubscribeFrontiers | From the album TITANIUM. Buy or Stream: https://orcd.co/phantomelite Director: Bart Sperling (R...

DUE FOR RELEASE ON JANUARY 22, 2021

FIRST SINGLE & VIDEO, 'DIAMONDS AND DARK' OUT NOW

Dutch/Brazilian metal act Phantom Elite have announced that their sophomore album, "Titanium" will be released on January 22, 2021. Today, fans can get their first look at the album with the single and video for 'Diamonds And Dark'.

Pre-order/save HERE: https://orcd.co/phantomelite

Phantom Elite is a relatively new metal band fronted by singer Marina La Torraca (Exit Eden, live vocalist for Avantasia) and features songwriting and production from former After Forever guitarist and producer Sander Gommans. Marina and Sander together with Max van Esch (guitars), and Joeri Warmerdam (drums) are set to unleash an incredible slice of contemporary sounding heavy metal music in their sophomore album “Titanium”. Sonically, the band is a perfect combination of symphonic, progressive, alternative, and heavy metal.

Vocalist Marina La Torraca explains, "'Diamonds and Dark' was one of the first songs we worked on for this album. It was one of those cases where everything just magically clicked and we were wowed by it from the very start. Although it probably has more symphonic touches then the other songs, this single is a good showcase of the quality and heaviness level of the whole album. We are really proud of what we achieved in writing, producing, and developing the concept together as a band (with the contribution of some wonderful professionals like Sander Gommans, Amanda Somerville and Hannes Braun."

Originating six years ago, the seeds of Phantom Elite sprang from Sander Gomman's HDK project. While releasing the HDK album "Serenades of the Netherworld", Gommans brought together a group of young musicians with the intent of playing HDK's songs in a live setting. The natural chemistry among these passionate musicians wound up sparking a wealth of new and exciting musical ideas and thus Phantom Elite was born. The debut album "Wasteland" (2018), and the accompanying well received tour of Europe, showed that Phantom Elite are ready to take flight.

"With the support of Frontiers and their decades of history in the music business, we are proud to present the release of our second album with them in 2021,” says the band. "Listeners can expect songs where modern meets symphonic and progressive, (very!) heavy riffs meet epic melodies, all overloaded with a wide spectrum of emotions and love for music. For sure, a high note in our careers!"

Stabbing Westward Drops Surprise Covers EP Hallowed Hymns In Time For Halloween Weekend As A Special ‘Treat’ For Fans

Industrial Rockers Continue Reunion Momentum,

Currently In The Studio Prepping Wasteland For 2021 Release,

The First New LP In 20 Years Will Again Feature Producer

John Fryer, Collaborator On Band’s Early Releases

Halloween may look different this year, but Stabbing Westward is intent on making it feel special by releasing a brand-new covers EP today as a special “treat” for fans.

Hallowed Hymns, released on COP International Records, features 4 tracks that were instrumental to the industrial band’s beginnings and conjure the feeling of the season. It includes original takes on “Burn” from The Cure (famously featured on the soundtrack to The Crow), the classic “(Every Day Is) Halloween” by Ministry and Echo And The Bunnymen’s eternal hit “The Killing Moon.” There is also a special “Devil’s Night Mix” version of Stabbing Westward’s “Burn” cover to round out the surprise release.

Digital and physical copies are on sale now HERE.

Stabbing Westward— featuring original founding members Christopher Hall (vocals/guitar) and Walter Flakus (keyboards/programming) as well as longtime bandmate Carlton Bost (bass) and newest member Bobby Amaro (drums)—originally released their cover of “Burn” to much fanfare for the Cold Waves Festival compilation album in September; the track was premiered by Revolver magazine that called it a “reverent cover” that kicked off the compilation “with a bang.” Read more about it HERE.

Says frontman Christopher Hall about this special surprise release:

“2020 has been a shit year. We were supposed to release our new album and tour the U.S. to support it. But clearly that's not happening. We know Halloween is different this year with no parties and no Trick or Treating so we wanted to give fans something special …. something that will help tie you over until we can release some new music.

We picked these three tracks because, for us, they represent the feeling of Halloween and they were very important songs during our early musical stages. If there were ever two bands that I would say most influenced Walter and I to form Stabbing Westward it would be Ministry and The Cure. From the earliest days of Ministry’s With Sympathy through the evolution of Twitch, they were the band that opened our minds and hearts to industrial music. To be able to reimagine these songs as Stabbing Westward while still trying to pay homage to the brilliance of the original versions was a terrifyingly fun adventure.

We have been working on the album so hard for so long that it was really a joy to take a break and explore all these tracks had to offer. As often as you listen to your favorite songs it's a totally different experience to take one apart and see how it was built. It gave me such an immense appreciation for what these amazing artists created—especially the Ministry track knowing how primitive the gear was that Al Jourgensen had to work with back then with none of the modern tools we take for granted today. He literally created new techniques in the studio that we still use today. He was light years ahead of his time. We hope you enjoy listening to these tracks as much as we have enjoyed recording them.”

Stabbing Westward recently reunited for the first time in decades, releasing the Dead And Gone EP with new material in January 2020 and announcing a new record deal with indie label COP International to release the band’s upcoming fifth studio album Wasteland—their first new LP in 20 years—set for 2021.

The EP’s title coyly illustrates that Stabbing Westward is in fact neither dead nor gone, but rather ready to pick up where they left off after a string of mid-‘90s hits that dominated alternative radio and film soundtracks, including “Shame,” “Save Yourself,” “So Far Away” and “What Do I Have to Do?”, and resulted in two Gold records.

To recapture that early chemistry, the band has again recruited their original producer, the legendary John Fryer for the upcoming Wasteland release. It will be the first LP from the band since 2001. Fryer, whose production credits include Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, 4AD, Cocteau Twins and Love and Rockets, was behind the boards on Stabbing Westward’s seminal early albums Ungod (1994) and Wither Blister Burn + Peel (1996).

More information will be released soon regarding Wasteland and a new single from the album, as well as other developments Stabbing Westward has in store for 2021 and beyond.

About Stabbing Westward

Blending the scathing electronics of underground industrial/rock with the emotive melodies of goth and a decidedly radio-friendly sensibility, Stabbing Westward rose to great heights in the mid-‘90s alternative boom. Formed in 1986 by Walter Flakus and Christopher Hall, the band went from underground cult sensation to the heights of critical and commercial success thanks to such songs as “Shame,” “Save Yourself,” “So Far Away” and “What Do I Have to Do?”. To this day, these songs remain anthems of heartache, dejection, rage, betrayal and depression.

With two Gold albums and numerous hit singles, Stabbing Westward fell from grace with the 2001 self-titled album amid personal and professional turmoil, disbanding the following year and leaving a void in modern music that was somewhat filled by Hall’s later work in The Dreaming. However, it was the release of that band’s Rise Again in 2015 that the seeds were sown for a reunion. That album saw Flakus once again making music with Hall, with Stabbing Westward guitarist Mark Eliopulos joining The Dreaming onstage in Chicago for a set of past hits. In 2019, Hall and Flakus came together again to release the Dead And Gone EP, the first new Stabbing Westward material in 18 years. Written and produced by Flakus and Hall over the course of three years, and recorded in multiple states and time zones, these new songs capture the very essence of the Stabbing Westward sound. Adding longtime bandmate Carlton Bost (Orgy, Deadsy, The Dreaming) and new drummer Bobby Amaro (Orgy) to the official lineup, the band has also once again recruited the talent of producer John Fryer—instrumental on early albums “Ungod” and “Wither Blister Burn + Peel”—for a new album, to be released in 2021 through a new partnership with COP International.

Just in time for the most macabre season of the year, horror-occult-goth metal/rock fusers BLOODY HAMMERS have announced a new horror punk-inspired full-length album! The 11-track offering, entitled Songs Of Unspeakable Terror, will be unleashed on January 15, 2021 via Napalm Records and marks a new, eccentric chapter in the Transylvania County, North Carolina-based husband and wife duo’s musical story.

While it doesn’t stray too dangerously far from the sound listeners have grown to infectiously adore, the band’s latest full-length explores yet uncharted territory: retro-ized horror punk in all its gritty glory. This beastly record shouldn’t be confused as an all new direction for the band, though – these songs are a pandemic lockdown labor of love, a temporary foray into the unknown, while still remaining true to the BLOODY HAMMERS sonic trademark.

Get a first listen for yourself, but beware – you’ve never heard BLOODY HAMMERS like this! Today, the band has unveiled an inventive new music video for their first single, “A Night To Dismember” – a dark, swinging, hefty punk two-stepper with an earworm chorus that’ll have fans chanting along in no time.

Frontman/multi-instrumentalist Anders Manga says about the track:

"I've had the title, ‘A Night to Dismember’ written down on my to-do list for a long time. The title is based on the 1980’s direct-to-VHS Horror effort by NYC Exploitation movie legend Doris Wishman. When I heard Samantha Fox, who starred in that same movie, had died in April (2020) from a COVID-19 related illness, I just started writing and it’s a bit of a blur from there. It came together quickly. Our take on the title is different but still stands as a tribute to those two legendary ladies of celluloid sleaze."

Bassist Devallia adds about video:

"Considering the title of the song, we thought of many different ways to go about making this video. In the end we decided to go more toward the absurd. As Spinal Tap said, there is a fine line between stupid and clever, and we are standing firmly on that line."

At the start of 2020, Anders Manga was about to head out on tour for his darkwave side-project when COVID-19 hit. Soon locked in their house under local stay-at-home orders, Manga and his bride and bandmate, Devallia, spent time jamming in their basement and revisiting some of their classic punk favorites. Holed up and barred from the uncertainty of the world, BLOODY HAMMERS conjured 11 new raw-power tracks inspired by that sound, and now they’re unearthed… from the grave!

Anders Manga says about the album:

“When the pandemic hit and I realized I’d be stuck at home for a while, I started thinking I needed to dig into a music project. I was oddly inspired by the unknown, and fear that this plague was gonna wipe us all out. I needed a creative escape. We’d just released the BLOODY HAMMERS album, ‘The Summoning’ a few months earlier, so I didn’t think about doing another Hammers album at all. When COVID was really hitting NYC hard, that got me thinking about my favorite bands from that whole NY/NJ area… Misfits, Wendy O. Williams, Ramones, Dead Boys, The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Twisted Sister and such. That’s where I found inspiration to do a horror punk-ish record.

I sent a few songs to my label, Napalm Records, mentioning that I’d done some horror punk-ish inspired stuff and wanted to release them digitally under some new band name I’d yet to think up. They loved the songs, felt they’d still fit under the BLOODY HAMMERS name, and I figured, ‘Well… cool, I guess our listeners are used to us being a bit genre-fluid by now, so yeah… let’s do it!’

For me, writing Songs of Unspeakable Terror was escapism from the real-life horrors of 2020. At no point did I get too serious in subject matter, my goal was to make a party record for the apocalypse and that’s what I think we got.”

Pre-Order Songs Of Unspeakable Terror HERE

Kicking off with first single and album opener “A Night To Dismember”, the album careens the listener down a dark, winding auditory road of melodic punk (in a jet-black classic car, of course). Trudging, metallic terrors like “Hands Of The Ripper” and “Witchfinder General”ensnare the listener, while seductive, unrelentingly heavy tracks such as “Not Of This Earth” will have them screaming for more, and head-bobbers like “The Ones Who Own The Dark”prove this offering isn’t short on melody. Laced with spine-tingling vocal lines, bathed in an occult cocktail of granular guitars and accented by a peppering of vintage Mellotron, each track on Songs Of Unspeakable Terror is a bonafide horror punk pillar.

Fans of BLOODY HAMMERS and heavy music fans new to the band alike will enjoy this unique offering, available in digital, CD jewelcase and multiple vinyl variations!

AUÐN Streams New Album in Full

Icelandic black metal formation AUÐN has is now streaming their new album, 'Vökudraumsins fangi,' in its entirety ahead of tomorrow's release!

'Vökudraumsins fangi' is due on October 30. Pre-orders are now live in the Season of Mist shop HERE.
As the country's vibrant black metal scene has proven, Iceland can be a beautiful and sinister place where furious elements rage teaching fear but also inspiring human creativity. Emphasizing melodies rather than dissonance and approaching their music from a dramatic, classical black metal angle, AUÐNdeliver another mesmerizing piece of art with ‘Vökudraumsins fangi’.

Hailing from the village of Hveragerði in the south of Iceland, AUÐN deliver haunting melodies and beautifully frozen atmospheres – as opposed to the jarring and caustic blunt force trauma that has brought this remote place in the Northern Atlantic to the black metal forefront.

Founded in 2010, AUÐN's talent was quick to be recognized. After the release of the self-titled debut, the band got invited to Iceland’s main metal event, the Eistnaflug Festival. They participated and won the local Wacken Metal Battle contest in 2016, while making it to the top three during the infamous Wacken Open Air festival itself. Shows at the prestigious Inferno and Roadburn festivals followed in 2017.

The second full-length, 'Farvegir Fyrndar' was released in November 2017, continuing the band’s fast ascent. Highly praised by the international metal press, the sophomore record reached back to a more classic second-generation black metal approach combined with a sense of elegance and melancholy that one can feel while dwelling among the bleak, extraordinary landscapes of the island.

The Icelanders embarked on European tours with label mates GAAHL’S WYRD in 2017 and THE GREAT OLD ONES (2017 and 2018) and captivated festival audiences at the biggest European fests, such as Copenhell, Summer Breeze Open Air, Eurosonic Noorderslag, Roskilde, Eindhoven Metal Meeting and more.

Returning with ‘Vökudraumsins fangi’, AUÐN explore new soundscapes and push their music to new heights, thereby setting themselves further apart from their Icelandic contemporaries. The six piece draws inspirations from their natural surroundings, but also chart the territory of the mind. The album title literally translates to ‘prisoner of the daydream’, but rather refers to a perpetual state of delusion of a life that never took place.

Join AUÐN while traversing the blurred lines between reality and the supernatural and the otherworldly sceneries of their native Iceland.

”Marching On Versailles (Acoustic)”

Taking off the masks!

Symphonic metal alliance AD INFINITUM have reimagined their spellbinding debut album, Chapter I: Monarchy, with Chapter I Revisited – a very special acoustic version of their first full-length, to be digitally released December 4 via Napalm Records!

With over one million views on YouTube, AD INFINITUM’s single “Marching On Versailles”speaks for itself and breaks in with thrashing drums as well as stormy guitar riffs – ‘til now! On Chapter I Revisited, the quartet dressed all the debut’s songs – including the hit single “Marching On Versailles” – into an acoustical and rather natural arrangement, representing another beautiful yet unknown aspect of it: Delicate guitar tunes immediately deliver the catchy melody of the chorus straight to the listener, showcasing that AD INFINITUM chose wisely in selecting this smasher as their first single back when Chapter I: Monarchy was released, as well. With the addition of Latin instrumental elements, this version of “Marching On Versailles (Acoustic)” represents a whole new facet of the four-piece.

AD INFINITUM on "Marching On Versailles (Acoustic)":

“2020 has been, and still is, challenging for everyone. The band had to find other ways than touring to connect with our fans and friends. Therefore, working in secret, we prepared one more surprise for you. An early Christmas present! A complete acoustic album featuring all the songs of Chapter I: Monarchy. Be ready for Chapter I Revisited!”

AD INFINITUM conjures a new spell,

transforming their debut album into an enchanting acoustic reimagination!

The quartet, fronted by inimitable vocalist Melissa Bonny, have impressively attired the ten songs on Chapter I Revisited as an acoustic arrangement, showcasing how beautifully the hits like "See You In Hell" or “Demons”, amongst others, magically unfold in a more instrumentally-organic environment. Surrounded by gentle guitar playing, the originally dark symphonic metal album transforms to lightness throughout the harmonic approach of instruments. Melissa Bonny’s multifaceted vocal power shines like a bright star in the dark sky and manages to shake the firmament despite the acoustic background, notedly expressed as the powerful growls in “Maleficent” break through the silent surrounding.

Melissa Bonny on Chapter I Revisited:

“After the release of Chapter I: Monarchy, we received very positive feedbacks concerning the acoustic bonus tracks. This summer, when we realised that we would probably not tour at all this year, we decided to create something special for the people who support us. We revisited and re-recorded entirely our Chapter I and we gave it a brand new atmosphere. Please welcome Chapter I Revisited!”

CVLT OV THE SVN Signs Worldwide Record Deal with Napalm Records

Written by: Jussi Kilponen/Julius Kivi/Teemu Rajamäki Produced by: AUTOMATON Productions (Julius Kivi/Jussi Kilponen) Edited by: Julius Kivi Special thanks: ...

Finnish occult murder pop inventors CVLT OV THE SVN have inked a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records.

While rock music seems to have lost its danger and mystique in a lot of ways, CVLT OV THE SVN are the force that embodies just that. Eeriness, danger and angst with a pinch of romanticism and seduction and a load of morbid horror theatrics - all wrapped in a melancholic and catchy, yet very rock, and at times even heavy, sound, drawing its influences from all sorts of artists and genres.

Commented the mysterious creative visionary behind the band: “For me the inspiration is darkness itself, as I am able to understand it. When I write songs, I want to push people’s boundaries, so I want to come up with ideas that make you go, ‘What the f**k?!'. Napalm Records is obviously one of the legends. It is an honor to be part of the lineage, part of this family”.

The band is currently working on their first full-length album - more to be announced soon.

To get a glimpse of what lies ahead, check out the eerie videos for stand out tracks "Twilight", "The Pit", "Luna In The Sky Forever" and "The Murderer"

Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, have shared the video for "Ghost."

The video is a collaboration between the band and its fans, featuring clips and art submitted by fans from around the world.

"We invited our fans to show us what the song means to them and we wanted to work with them to create the visual to go along with it," Gontier says about the video's creation, which was new territory for him. "I've actually never done something like this in the past. It's been a great process, and the video turned out awesome."

As for the song itself, Gontier continues, "It's about losing someone in your life — whether it be to death, drugs, sickness. It's about trying to put the pieces back together after going through something unbearable. Sonically, it's got a different feel. It's not just a straightforward song written around a specific riff. It's probably one of my favorite songs we've ever written as a band."

"Ghost" appears on Saint Asonia's sophomore effort Flawed Design, out now via Spinefarm Records. The single "The Hunted," featuring Godsmack's Sully Erna, was a Top 5 radio smash.

SAOR Announces Remixed and Remastered Version of 'Guardians'

Expertly transitioning between atmospheric Black Metal, Celtic Folk, and traditional Scottish sounds - the wildly exploratory music of SAOR knows no limitati...

Scottish folk-inspired black metal outfit SAOR has announced a remixed and remastered version of their third full-length, 'Guardians.' This new edition also contains the previously unreleased demo recording of "Dawn of Heroes" and will be released on vinyl and CD via Season of Mist. The release date is set for January 15, 2021. Pre-orders are live HERE.

Furthermore, SAOR has shared a streaming video for the remixed and remastered version of the song "Hearth"

Mainman Andy Marshall comments: "I'm very excited to share the remixed and remastered version of 'Guardians.' The production on the original album was quite rushed, so I'm happy we had more time to work on it and improve the overall sound."

Since its formation in 2013, Saor has continually evolved while remaining boldly faithful to its Scottish heritage. Forged by the vision of the band’s founder Andy Marshall, Saor (meaning “Free” in Scottish Gaelic) has a uniquely expressive approach that dives deep into lyrical themes based on literature, landscapes, history, sorrow, nature, and the majestic mountains of his homeland.

Expertly transitioning between atmospheric Black Metal, Celtic Folk, and traditional Scottish sounds – the wildly exploratory music of Saor knows no limitations and seeks out every opportunity to expand on its potential.

With a crew of talented session musicians surrounding him in the studio, Andy recorded the debut album Roots in the band’s inaugural year, following it up with the second record Aura in 2014. Inspired by the response, Andy pushed himself creatively towards that next-level once again and brought his songs to the stage live for the first time in 2015 – a move that immediately bolstered the ambitions of Saor and opened the door to an entire host of new opportunities for them.

The release of the 2016 album Guardians saw even more support for the band’s music forming rapidly, soon finding Saor in high demand for shows of all over the globe. Surging forward to cover the map with stops in Russia, Malta, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Finland and the UK, they played in feature spots of notable festivals like Hellfest Open Air, Ragnarök Festival, Damnation Festival, Steelfest Open Air, Kilkim Žaibu, and Cernunnos Pagan Fest along their journey. Cementing their place on the stage where they rightly belonged, Saor became synonymous with gripping live performances, showcasing the range of sonic extremities in the band’s sound while revealing captivating ideas and complex structures.

For the past two years, Saor has been writing and recording an all-new set of powerful songs that take the insightful mix of stunning melody and musical intensity in their sound boldly into the next chapter of their career on the highly-anticipated release of the latest record Forgotten Paths, coming out February 2019.

Enlisting the talent of Neige from Alcest to contribute to the new album, along with another ensemble of talented session musicians, Forgotten Paths promises to be a genuine experience in music unlike any other, designed to push/pull emotions through thought-provoking and poetic lyricism and sounds that courageously explore the most innocent expressions to the full storm and fury of Saor’s unbridled passion.

Their creation of Caledonian Metal has clearly caught fire with listeners and ignited what was once only a spark of support into a full-blown blaze of burning desire and an authentic craving for the unmatched skill, uniqueness, and imagination in Saor’s epic sound.

With the official release of Forgotten Paths in 2019, festival bookings in Germany and Czech Republic coming up, and a relentless tour schedule that will see the band dominate stages in Europe, Canada and the USA over the course of the same year – Saor’s music is finding the worldwide audience that such monumental commitment, focus, and determination, truly deserves.

New Zealand's speed metal overlords STÄLKER are returning with yet another lesson in raw and in-your-face heavy metal, breathing the spirit and danger of the glorious 80s.

Following 2019's globally acclaimed Powermad EP, the band's impatiently awaited second full-length album, Black Majik Terror, will be released on October 30, 2020 via Napalm Records.

Today, the band releases a delight for every fan of aggressive 80s metal as well as any horror aficionado out there. The music video for their third single, "Holocene's End", is another monument of classic B-Movie extravaganza: drenched in occultism, dirt and a lot of gore. A masterpiece on its own.

Proving that they aren’t afraid to change the pace to set the right mood, “Holocene’s End”'s intro shows STÄLKER nearing doom metal territory before plunging back into the speed metal we know them for. This eerie introduction immediately invokes an unsettling aura that is only heightened by Daif’s anguished vocal performance and maniacal laughter. As the track’s speed picks back up to match the rest of Black Majik Terror, “Holocene's End” offers one of STÄLKER’s most ambitious song structures to date, graced tastefully with an exceptional call and response solo from guitarist Chris and capped off with a classic horror fueled synth outro. “Holocene's End” is without a doubt one of STÄLKER's most unique numbers.

Formed in 2016 in New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, STÄLKER quickly gained attention in the global metal scene with the release of their blistering three-track demo, 2016’s Satanic Panic, which sold close to a thousand cassettes and 7" copies in the blink of an eye: a staggering feat for any metal band from the southern hemisphere. Shortly after, being signed to Napalm Records now, STÄLKER set out to drop jaws with their much-anticipated full-length debut, Shadow of the Sword. The high-powered release shines a light on metal’s true lifeblood while showcasing STÄLKER’s strong melodic voice, mixing primeval thrash, punk, and spandex-and-leather-clad 80s metal influences into a relentless sonic attack. Followed by relentless tours around the globe and the release of critically acclaimed Powermad EP in 2019, STÄLKER went back to the rehearsal room to craft what will be known as their preliminary magnum opus as 2020 marks the electrifying arrival of STÄLKER's newest offering, Black Majik Terror. The trio wasted no time in disproving the lurking presence of the dreaded sophomore slump. Now the band is back with more speed, more power, and most importantly, more riffs. Black Majik Terror is a cacophony of speed metal mayhem sure to enchant any and all freaks, from the nefarious hordes of metalheads to the street side mobs of low down rock n rollers. With primal energy fueling their assault, Daif, Nick, and Chris put on a truly adept performance as they riddle their fans with a hail of piercing tracks that will leave the world in putrid flames. Black Majik Terror is here, and it is here to raise hell.[cove
