Like Moths to Flames Share "Over the Garden Wall" Video

U.S. metalcore act Like Moths To Flames will release their new album The Cycles Of Trying To Cope tomorrow, May 10 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

Today, the band has dropped the gloriously eerie video for "Over the Garden Wall." Watch it below.

The video presents haunting and downright creepy images, as it finds the band performing in the woods as the sun is going down, juxtaposed with other ominous footage.

"This song has a lot of parallels with the body representing a home," LMTF vocalist Chris Roetter explains.

As for the album as a whole, Roetter continues, "The record encapsulates the many varying emotions we go through when trying to grow through life. The last few years, I really tried to harness some of those emotions as a catalyst to get through whatever I was going through at the time. I think we all have our own unique ways to cope and these are mine."

Each single that the band has released is related to a coping "cycle" and associated word. The cycle for "Over the Garden Wall" is "MELANCHOLIA."

"When it breaks, what piece am I left with?," ponders frontman Chris Roetter over the rousing, palms-to-the-sky outro of "Kintsugi," an emotional thunderclap of a song that forms somewhat of a centrepiece to Like Moths To Flames' career re-defining sixth album, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope. Whilst the anthemic track's title pays homage to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, for Roetter and his bandmates [guitarists Zach Pishney and Cody Cavanaugh, and drummer Roman Garcia], the notion of "Kintsugi" comes loaded with the profound human experience of seeking to find light in the dark, to birth good from bad — indeed, the cycles of trying to cope: "The record encapsulates the varying emotions we go through when trying to grow through life," says Roetter. "Over the last few years, I've really tried to harness my emotions as a catalyst to get through whatever I was facing at the time. I think we all have our own unique ways to cope — these are mine. Just being able to write about this stuff and put it out into the world makes it feel like I'm not so alone."

Segmented into four chapters, dubbed LIMBO, FRACTURE, DISSOCIATE, and MELANCHOLIA, The Cycles Of Trying To Cope album plays as an intense exploration of the Like Moths musical arsenal, straddling the ugly and the beautiful in equal measure, whilst Roetter's raw introspection pierces the heart of every vicious breakdown or soaring chorus with cathartic power. Though not originally designed to be a concept album, Roetter's reflections on these diverse, complimentary, and contrasting facets of the band's latest opus revealed common threads which led the singer even deeper into his internal landscape; exploring the ways in which differing stages and aspects of the record were connected evoked in Roetter thoughts of the terraces in Dante's Purgatory and the "cycles" were given shape.

"A big focal point for Moths has always been writing about things I'm actively going through," Roetter details. "But when I realized that each song on the new album covers a unique approach I've had to a specific emotion, it felt like we needed something that could escort listeners through the record. It definitely helps it all feel cohesive and complete; Sometimes an album can just feel like a collection of songs, but I think this is more an experience to the band — I hope that people are able to find some solace in knowing someone else out there is dealing with these things too."

MISCREANCE Shares New Music Video for Song, "The Garden"

Old school technical death metal revivalists MISCREANCE will be reissuing their debut album, 'Convergence,' via Season of Mist on May 19, 2023! The album was originally self-released by the Italian newcomers in in September 2022. The band is now revealing a brand new music video for the song "The Garden," which can be found below.

MISCREANCE comments: "Where the darkest of energy once reigned, a small glimpse of light seemed to made the nebulae converge into a unspeakable form of life. 'Convergence' is a 31-minute long odyssey that narrates how the Miscreance microcosm was born when atoms were still floating into the nothingness, twisting and turning into the evolution process like in its songs structures and giving the world (and beyond) the ultimate experience in Technical Thrash/Death Metal. Prepare for a voyage at the edge of reality that will make your brain cells implode!"

'Convergence' will be re-released on three different colored vinyl as well as CD formats. The record is now available for pre-order
HERE while you can stream it across all digital platforms HERE.

Though many have tried, few bands have successfully replicated the mind-bending technical death metal formula that was established during the genre’s advent by the Godfathers of DEATH. That is until Italy’s Miscreance entered the ring in 2022 with its debut full-length, ‘Convergence.’ Unlike tech death contemporaries who are known for speed and extremity, Miscreance artistry lies within its carefully executed precision, underscoring the focused discipline behind the music’s eloquent complexities.

Miscreance is a project reborn from the ashes of Atomic Massacre. As the former band's members decided to change the course of their stylistic direction, they felt it was time for a rebirth, changing the name as well. In 2018, the band released its first demo, 'From Awareness to Creation,' which was originally co-produced by Red Wine Rites records in Switzerland and limited strictly to 100 copies.

Shortly after the demo release, the band ceased their search for a singer upon realizing that drummer Andrea F. was exactly what they were looking for, so they exhumed three songs from the pre-demo era and recorded a split with death metal grind-crushers Vile Apparition (AUS), released in late 2021.

In 2022, Miscreance made its debut with its first full-length, ‘Convergence,’ which took almost five years to complete. The offering quickly garnered the attention of Season of Mist, who formed a union with the emerging band and is now reissuing the full-length for worldwide distribution as the old school tech death revivalists prepare to unleash a sophomore offering onto the masses.

CONSTELLATIA Drops New Music Video for "The Garden"

South African post metal band CONSTELLATIA are now releasing the brand new official music video for the song, "The Garden," which is taken from the band's latest EP, 'The Language of Limbs." The video, which was filmed in Cape Town and Johannesburg and was edited by Larissa Johnson, can be seen below.

CONSTELLATIA comments: "'The Garden' is a dirge about revisitation, and how when coming back things could possibly and most likely change. It's an end and it's a beginning. It also talks about the power struggle and helplessness that sometimes comes with being in a relationship and how that fleeting romantic landscape shifts and distorts. Musically, The Garden was the most progressive track on our debut record, and revisiting it now it's easy to see where we left off, and the subsequent evolution to our new sound, which feels like an expansion on this song, whilst treading new ground."

But there's more great news! CONSTELLATIA finalized their newest full-length album which will be released via Season of Mist. Stay tuned in for the official title and release date - all will be revealed soon!

'The Language of Limbs' was originally released on November 15, 2019 and soon after, the four piece landed a worldwide record deal with Season of Mist. The pressings are available in various formats HERE.

Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, CONSTELLATIA is the collaborative vision of Gideon Lamprecht and Keenan Oakes, founders of well-known acts CROW BLACK SKY and WILDERNESSKING respectively.

'The Language of Limbs' is essentially a post-metal record with black metal and progressive influences, and a healthy dose of ambience and atmosphere; always deeply engaging with a flair for the romantic and nostalgic. "It is a record that came from a place of desperation; a musical outlet for the years of hardship both members endured in their personal lives." Gideon Lamprecht comments. "It's an album about obsession and overcoming. It's a triumphant record." adds Keenan Oakes.

Formed in September 2018, and enlisting the talents of a few key collaborators, CONSTELLATIA soon completed work on the beautiful and emotional ride that is 'The Language of Limbs'. While the drums (Played by Lawrence Jaeger) and vocals were engineered by Daniel Thackwray at City Varsity, Cape Town, all other instruments were recorded by Lamprecht at his home studio in Glencairn, where he also mixed and mastered 'The Language of Limbs'. The album features additional and high class guest vocalists, namely Alison Rachel of HONEYMOAN and renowned singer/songwriter Lucy Kruger, and is an absolute must-have for fans of CULT OF LUNA, OPETH, PINK FLOYD or WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM.
