TENYEARS AFTER IS NOW RELEASING “NATURALLY LIVE” (DELUXE EDITION)THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT

mail-65.jpeg

AFTER THE SUCCESS OF “A STING IN THE TALE (DELUXE EDITION)”, TEN YEARS AFTER IS NOW RELEASING “NATURALLY LIVE” (DELUXE EDITION) THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT. THIS RELEASE COMES WITH 2 BONUS TRACKS INCLUDING “I SAY YEAH”.

Ten Years After are best known for their Platinum selling album “A Space in Time” which featured the Top 40 hit "I'd Love to Change the World", and their prodigious performance appearance at the Woodstock Festival in upstate New York, August 1969. Their rendition of "I'm Going Home" was featured in both the subsequent film and soundtrack album and catapulted them to star status.

Original members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill have continued this legacy and are now rounded out by Guitarist/Vocalist Marcus Bonfanti and Bass Icon Colin Hodgkinson. “Naturally Live” was recorded at HsD, Erfurt, Germany on 24th March 2018 and contains live recordings such as: ”Land Of The Vandals”, “Silverspoon Lady” & “Last Night Of The Bottle” taken from their phenomenally successful studio album A Sting In The Tale. These tracks are combined with old favorites such as “I'd Love To Change The World”, “Hear Me Calling”, “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” and, of course, the Woodstock killer track “I'm Going Home”. Also included is the band's semi-acoustic section of their current live show which features three tracks from the very early days in 1967: “Portable People”, “Don't Want You Woman” & “Losing The Dogs”.

This Deluxe Edition due out August 13th also contains “I Say Yeah” which was previously only available on the vinyl edition and the previously unreleased rendition of “32-20 Blues” performed by bassist Colin Hodgkinson. Founding member Ric Lee states, “In the early days at London’s Marquee Club we did an acoustic performance where Alvin Lee played an acoustic guitar, Leo Lyons played an upright string bass, Chick played the Marquee’s acoustic piano and I went from the drum set to the front of the stage to join the guys with just a snare drum on a stand and a pair of brushes. The slot went down really well and several years later when we were playing larger venues, I suggested we played the acoustic spot again to add some variety to what we were doing. Alvin didn’t think it would work and so it didn’t happen. Much later, after Alvin had more or less retired and we had Joe Gooch on vocals and guitar I again suggested we do the acoustic set but this time Leo didn’t think it was right.

When Marcus and Colin joined us and we were discussing new material for the set, they were both very enthusiastic about doing the three acoustic songs included on the Naturally Live (DeLuxe Edition) album and it proved to be a good decision, as that part of the set goes down fantastically well with our audiences. “I Say Yeah” always sounded like an unfinished song to me so we worked out a new arrangement and it’s become somewhat anthemic and involves audience participation.

What can I say about Colin’s performance of John Lee Hooker’s 32-20 Blues? It’s a superb showcase of his amazing bass playing and vocalizing. Colin is an extremely talented and experienced musician. The people he’s played with throughout his long career reads like a who’s who of the music business. From my point of view it’s an honor and a pleasure to have him in the Ten Years After rhythm section and, to cap it all, he’s a great guy too!”.

“On this record you can hear a band that lives on its legacy but also wants to look ahead….New frontman Bonfanti further enhances the band's rock image. Never before had Ten Years After a singer with such a rough and growling voice. With his equally rough guitar playing, Bonfanti is the rock star among the old veterans.”

Ten Years After Announce Livestream Event, "Blue Crossroads"

Classic rockers/blues rock trailblazers Ten Years After will soon be performing for fans throughout the world once more, via a livestream event. Entitled “Blue Crossroads,” the event includes three performances by different artists, Ten Years After on June 17th, Marcus Bonfanti Electric Band on July 1st, and Jawbone on July 15th.

The Ten Years After portion of the performance will be taking place on June 17th at 9pm EDT (with replay access available for 72 hours afterwards), tickets are available for purchase via boxoffice.mandolin.com.

Celebrating more than 50 years since forming, Ten Years After are still making classic blues rock with a contemporary groove – original members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill have continued this legacy and are now rounded out by guitarist/vocalist Marcus Bonfanti and bass icon Colin Hodgkinson.

Ric Lee: “Fans can expect an hour long concert mixing new and old Ten Years After songs such as ‘Land of the Vandals,’ ‘Hear Me Calling,’ ‘I’d Love To Change the World,’ ‘Silverspoon Lady,’ ‘Good Morning Little Schoolgirl’ and, of course, ‘I’m Going Home’ plus other tracks. From the finished cut I’ve seen we did capture the excitement of a live gig in spite of the fact that, due to Covid restrictions, we weren’t allowed an audience.”

Ten Years After remain one of the most prolific English bands of all time, continuing to tour worldwide. They have come together for the first time since early 2020 for this one off performance from London's Subterania - expect a special evening and raise a glass to one of the legends of rock who are still rolling!

mail-27.jpeg

A three time British Blues Award winner as well as countless nominations Marcus Bonfanti of the Marcus Bonfanti Electric Band has toured the world with many artists as well as his own band and released three critically acclaimed albums. His growing reputation as a guitar player and vocalist lead to him being asked to join legendary British Rock n Roll band Ten Years After in 2014. He co-wrote and produced their latest studio album as well as appearing on their last two live albums and touring the world extensively including a special 50th anniversary tour to commemorate The Woodstock Festival in 2019.He is also into his tenth year of fronting the Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion who hold a monthly residency at the prestigious London venue and have had special guests Jack Bruce Eric Burdon Joe Louis Walker Sarah Jane Morris and John Nemeth to join them. Known for his deep powerful vocal style and ability to combine many differing guitar styles to create his own unique sound Bonfanti’s live shows are full of a raw energy that many people thought had left live music a long time ago. This film manages to capture him and the band in full flow at their very best. “He will knock you out” - Huey Morgan.

Jawbone began as a collaboration between established solo artists Paddy Milner and Marcus Bonfanti and the lineup was completed by the renowned rhythm section of Rex Horan and Evan Jenkins. Since the release of their eponymous debut album in 2017 Jawbone have gone from strength to strength honing their live exciting show on the road during extensive touring of Europe. In January 2018 they were chosen to back Eric Clapton Van Morrison & Tom Jones at Paul Jones’ legendary charity show at G-Live in Guildford gaining rave reviews from the artists involved and the sell-out audience alike. The distinctive voices of Paddy Milner and Marcus Bonfanti compliment and contrast throughout the songs as they share lead vocal duties on the album. Rex Horan’s searing falsetto vocals create the three-part harmony that has become a hallmark of the Jawbone sound. Taking influences from Little Feat The Band The Rolling Stones and Crosby Stills Nash & Young but also mixing it with the eclectic musical backgrounds that each member brings allows Jawbone to create a very fresh take on rock’n’roll. The live show captures the band in its most natural form and premiers new material from their forthcoming album as well as live arrangements of the songs from their first.

The livestream is only the first TYA offering for 2021, according to Lee. “The band has a new (to the USA) live album, ‘Naturally Live,’ coming out on Deko Entertainment in the near future with 2 bonus live tracks. Following that, Chrysalis Records is releasing a ‘clam shell’ box set released either this month or July covering the years from 1967 to 1975, and October this year is the 50th anniversary of ‘A Space in Time,’ which was our most successful USA release in 1970. A gold album then, it is now certified platinum. The studio version of ‘I’d Love To Change the World’ (an AM Top Forty hit), was first heard on this album. We’re currently planning to play all or almost all of the album on our next live gigs. With luck we’ll start touring again in Europe later this year and hopefully hit the USA in 2022.”

And Ten Years After will be getting the ball rolling on June 17th, as the first part of the Blue Crossroads livestream event.

TEN YEARS AFTER TO RELEASE “A STING IN THE TALE” (DELUXE EDITION) THROUGH DEKO ENTERTAINMENT.

THIS RELEASE COMES WITH 4 LIVE BONUS TRACKS INCLUDING THEIR HIT SONG “I’D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD”.

This is the music video of the first single of the new album A Sting In The Tale by Ten Years After. Stream or download the song here: https://ten-years-afte...

“A Sting in the Tale” was engineered and produced by Bonfanti at his ‘Cricklewood Green’ Studios in Cricklewood, North London and mixed by acclaimed Canadian mix engineer Doug Organ in Edmonton Canada. The 4 bonus live tracks, including “I’d Love To Change The World” were recorded during a subsequent tour in Erfurt, Germany. As Drummer Ric Lee states, “The creative process of the studio album was a joy. Writing and recording together, being able to construct songs that reflect the personalities, memories and experiences of each of the members was extremely satisfying. We’re very happy that Deko suggested adding four ‘live’ bonus tracks to make this the DeLuxe Edition.

The title “A Sting In The Tale” reflects the same sentiment Ric & Chick wished to convey in the 2015 live album “The Name Remains The Same”. Through the new lineup the music continues to evolve and grow fifty years on. The sound of the band will always be heavily rooted in the way they paved the way during the late sixties and early seventies and will never forget its incredible heritage. This new record is the ‘Sting’ in the continuing Tale of Ten Years After. Deko Entertainment Bruce Pucciarello on Ten Years After joining the Deko family, “Their story is legend and working with these guys at DEKO has been a privilege. The album, classic organic contemporary, forward, it just rocks. You put it on…you can’t just listen once.”

The subject material on the album ranges from childhood memories of growing up in post war Britain, songs of love lost to the rock n roll lifestyle as well as sincere odes to a life well lived. They pay homage to the steam train drivers of the past and guitar heroes of the future as well as other interesting characters the band have encountered since they embarked on this journey over fifty years ago. Featuring tracks like “Land of Vandals”, “Suranne Suranne”, and “Up in Smoke” this album has critics raving.

“….is a showcase for their long-matured blues, rock and jazz blend, with tracks like Iron Horse, Up In Smoke and the engagingly mournful Stoned Alone full of seasoned virtuosity.”
CLASSIC ROCK

“….a healthy dose of tasty guitar licks, strong vocals, and plenty of groove. Bonfanti is a very capable player and vocalist…"Land of the Vandals" and "Iron Horse" kick off the album and provide a potent 1-2 punch, complete with hot licks and catchy hooks.”
