SARCATOR Shreds with Two New Guitar Play-Throughs, Kicks Off EU Tour + Festival Run This Week

Swedish trash metal newcomers SARCATOR are now unleashing two freshly recorded guitar playthroughs for “The Deep Ends” as well as “Burning Choir," which are both taken from the band's recently released third studio album, 'Swarming Angels and Flies.' Both played by guitarist Mateo Tervonen and recorded at Studio-MT in Sweden, the playthroughs showcase the guitarist’s strong technicality and the band’s talent for both shredding and songwriting.

The playthrough for “The Deep Ends” can be found Below.

Watch the playthrough for “Burning Choir” HERE.

'Swarming Angels & Flies' was released in January 2025 via Century Media Records and can be streamed, ordered, and downloaded HERE.

In addition, SARCATOR will be conquering Europe on an extensive run of live performances starting tomorrow, May 8, where they will first support 1349 on their “The Wolf & The King Eastern European Tour," alongside The Ruins Of Beverast and label-mates Vitriol. Additionally, the thrashers have various festivals lined up for 2025 across Europe, starting in June. The quartet will also be supporting Yoth Iria during their shows in Germany and Poland. The full itinerary can be found below while tickets can be found HERE.

More shows TBA soon... stay tuned!

At a juvenile age of 14-20, Sarcator released their first demo tape, “Visions of Purgatory”, via the American label Redefining Darkness Records in 2019. Just two years later the quadrumvirate got nominated for best rock/metal album for the Swedish music award P3 Guld with their 2020’s self-titled debut release for the same label. After releasing their 2nd album, “Alkahest”, via Black Lion Records in 2022, Sarcator finally got a proper chance to play live, captivating crowds with their intense, blackened live shows.

With their current line-up fully committed to the band despite their young age (all members are between 19 and 25) it was time for them to record their third album, which still features previous guitarist Emil Eriksson. Shortly after signing a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records and heading out on a debut European tour supporting Hellripper and Cloak, Sarcator will be releasing 'Swarming Angels & Flies' on January 17, 2025.

This album marks the most intense, brutal and rawest creation yet for the band. It is a remarkably mature and sophisticated piece of work, from mercurial musicians who are only in their early 20’s, and still at the beginning of their creative journey. Across eight, grotesque and utterly venomous tracks, Sarcator have deftly blended the wide-eyed extremity of their debut album with the inspirational musicality of their second record “Alkahest”, while playing everything with more intensity than ever before. Both deliriously melodic and mercilessly brutal: “Swarming Angels & Flies” is the most dangerously potent record the Swedens have made to date.

Sarcator explains about the record and its creation process, “We wanted to highlight the most aggressive and extreme parts of us, but we still wanted to work with dynamics, so you still have elements of classic rock and post-punk, which we started experimenting with on the last record. There is no question that it’s our most intense, brutal, and rawest creation yet - It's not really a genre album and we like to keep it that way."

With plenty of live activity in support of the upcoming album, Sarcator are already at the forefront of an emergent, highly determined new generation of Scandinavian extreme metal bands and ready to take the rest of the world by storm soon too.

IN APHELION Unleashes New Single, "When All Stellar Light Is Lost"

A new force is awakening, stretching the boundaries of consciousness, and devouring everything in its path. IN APHELION is now ushering in their sophomore album, 'Reaperdawn,' which is due on August 9, 2024 via Century Media Records. The black metal brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Sebastian Ramstedt (best known as guitarist and songwriter with Necrophobic) is now unleashing the dark and icy first single from the offering, "When All Stellar Light Is Lost." The song can be found along with a blistering music video, which was created by Claudio Marino and Artax Film, below.

“This was the first song to be written after the last album,” says Ramstedt. “It's a quite chaotic beast where the music matches the lyrics (written by former Necrophobic member Martin Halvdan) perfectly. Even though it's a short track for IN APHELION, it gives the listener a taste of where the album is going. It is a first glance at a truly epic and violent album.”

Darker, stranger, more epic and progressive than admirers of his work were expecting, this new outlet for enigmatic and artistic expression emerged firmly tethered to the white-knuckle viciousness of benchmark, Northern European black metal, while also exhibiting a profound affiliation with both classic, traditional heavy metal and the black magic of psychedelic repetition. Based around a core line-up of Ramstedt (guitar/vocals), drummer Marco Prij (also Cryptosis), rhythm guitarist Johan Bergebäck (Necrophobic) and bassist Tobias Cristiansson (Necrophobic, ex-Grave…), IN APHELION have taken the uncompromising DIY route to their current status as new Century Media signees.

The atmosphere of “Reaperdawn” is a swirling maelstrom of obsidian sparkle and iridescent grime. Stay tuned to watch it arise!

Aphelion - the point of a planet, comet or any other body in the orbit that is most distant from the sun.

During the bleak and desolate year of 2020, a new creative entity was born within the darkness. Necrophobic guitar duo Sebastian Ramstedt and Johan Bergebäck teamed up with Dutch drummer Marco Prij of Cryptosis to forge brooding and precise sonic hostility under the moniker of IN APHELION.

After releasing a number of singles, the 'Luciferian Age' EP (2021), debut album 'Moribund' (2022), and welcoming bassist Tobias Cristiansson to the lineup, the formation took the natural next step and have now joined forces with Century Media Records, which is already home to NECROPHOBIC and CRYPTOSIS.

For Fans Of: Dissection, Watain, Emperor, Sacramentum

Lineup:

Johan Bergebäck - guitars

Tobias Cristiansson - bass

Marco Prij - drums

Sebastian Ramstedt - vocals, guitars

SICK CENTURY Release Alien Horror Video for Cover of WHITE ZOMBIE "More Human Than Human"

Pennsylvania based rock band SICK CENTURYhas released the official music video for their 6th release, a gritty cover of the iconic 1995 WHITE ZOMBIE hit single, "More Human than Human." Produced by Paint The Light Productions, "More Human than Human" is the band's sixth release.

"We didn't really plan this one. It was more like a fun idea in between tracking originals. The song turned out so good, we scheduled a video shoot the next week where we got all our friends together in a little barn spot in the woods and just rocked it. We love White Zombie/ Rob Z. and that entire era of heavy music so it's a huge honor to be able to do something like this. The video's definitely got that whole "creep show" vibe to it. It was shot around Halloween so everyone was feeling the spirit plus we're all fans of the Z. Dude pretty much created a whole genre, or at least assigned himself the wizard of the funky macabre." - SICK CENTURY

Sick Century began in 2019 when Scott Hoon and Marc Kahn started working together on a side project between bands. The two toyed around with a few demos that would later turn into singles “Rampart” and “Altered States.” The chemistry was there but while the duo had demoed several tracks, the lineup would not be complete until January of 2020 when Nick Black and Brady Hearn came aboard. Black and Kahn had been friends for a few years while Hearn started off the year touring with All That Remains and Lacuna Coil in band Eximious (with ex-members From Ashes To New). His decision to move onto Sick Century would come in mid January.

Since forming, the band has released multiple singles with the video release of Alice in Chains’ cover “Them Bones,” being their 2020 debut.
