OVERKILL - ANNOUNCE "SCORCHING THE EARTH" U.S. TOUR WITH LABELMATES EXHORDER & HEATHEN!

For four decades, OVERKILL have been the trailblazers in producing some of the most signature moments in the world of metal. Earlier this year, the New Jersey Thrash Legends unleashed their twentieth studio album, entitled Scorched via Nuclear Blast Records.

Today, the band announce they are heading on their "Scorching The Earth" U.S. Tour with labelmates EXHORDER and HEATHEN. The 16-date trek will kick off on July 13th in San Francisco and make stops in Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Silver Springs before ending in Huntington, NY on July 30th!

OVERKILL’s Bobby Blitz state, 'Hey "killers', the time has come to hit the road in the US of A! July the 13th starts the salvo in San Fran and we will be rolling down the west coast to L.A., across Rt10 east to Florida then up the east coast and back home. Been a long time kids! Keep your eyes open, and get Scorched! Cya on the R.O.A.D.!"

EXHORDER's Kyle Thomas comments "Rolling with OVERKILL is always nothing short of a family affair, but add HEATHEN and us to the mix too and it’s like a family vacation! We can’t wait to tear up the States with our family!”

ABOUT EXHORDER 
Exhorder's enduring legacy began in the mid-80's when they defined the sound of Louisiana thrash and groove metal. Their initial formation was short-lived, lasting nearly a decade with two critically acclaimed, classic albums, but their impact on the metal genre can be felt through a generation of bands that followed. Exhorder dissolved in the mid-90's but briefly reunited in 2011. Now, the band has returned to reclaim their throne of NOLA metal.

OVERKILL Return To Jersey November 13th At The Wellmont Theater With Special Guest Phil Demmel!

Legendary New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL are proud to announce their return to Jersey on November 13th at The Wellmont Theater. The night will feature special guest and long-time friend of the band Phil Demmel who will be filling in for Dave Linsk. Don't miss the band's first show since the pandemic!

Bobby Blitz comments, "We had a few issues getting this rescheduled show together" comments Bobby Blitz. "But to hell with the issues, we all have problems! And wouldn't you know it our bro and your's, Phil Demmel to the rescue! The show must and will go on! See you at the Welmomt Jersey..."

Phil Demmel states, "So excited to jam with my bro's in OVERKILL in NJ!! I'm neck-deep in learning the parts and expect a raging show!"

Jason Bittner states, "Even though I am disappointed that our very own Dave Linsk can not participate in this show, I am more than psyched and confident that my longtime friend Phil Demmel will get the job done for us, we have a long history together playing a bunch of NAMM events and have toured together in the past so this should be a lot of fun!"

The Wings Of War was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida, Shorefire Studio and Jrod Productions with engineering handled by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris "Zeuss" Harris handled the mixing and mastering. Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, OPETH, SOILWORK, DEATH...) was once again enlisted to create the artwork for the album.

An integral part of the early-'80s thrash metal movement that spawned acts like Metallica and Anthrax, New Jersey's Overkill garnered a reputation for brutal, pounding speed and technique. Taking their moniker from the 1979 Motörhead album of the same name, an early demo; Power in Black, made waves in the underground tape-trading circuit and caught the attention of Megaforce Records, which issued the band's full-length studio debut, Feel the Fire, in 1985. High-profile shows alongside luminaries like Slayer and Anthrax followed, and with the American thrash scene in full tilt, Overkill inked a major-label deal with Atlantic, which put out their sophomore effort, 1987's uncompromising Taking Over. This was followed quickly in 1988 by the equally uncompromising, Under The Influence which spawned the MTV hit, ‘Hello From The Gutter’. Continuing their breakneck pace, the band issued the Terry Date -produced Years of Decay the following year in 1989, which saw them pushing their sound in a more epic direction, while maintaining the neck-snapping attack of their debut. Expanding their lineup to a five piece in 1990 they released the brooding and relentlessly heavy Horrorscope, which introduced elements of doom into the mix and would go on to become a defining release and fan favorite. Overkill continued to move toward a more epic Sabbath style on 1993's I Hear Black but switched up again on 1994's W.F.O. which marked a return to the whiplash-inducing thrash of the past.

Overkill are held in high regard as one of the true greats of the global metal scene, one they dominate to this day. These six albums cemented Overkill in the thrash hall of fame, while contributing to their 16 million record sales, notched up over the last 40 years and are all considered stone cold classics.

All six of these albums are back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade. Half speed mastered for dynamic range and pressed on 180g vinyl. Also available as a CD collectors box.
