Speaking on the news of his debut album and the release of "Regaining Unconsciousness", Eric Melvin shares

“I am so thankful for the love and support for the first ever Melvinator single, 'American Errorist' from last year. This exciting journey continues with this next release, 'Regaining Unconsciousness', one of my favorite NOFX tracks. The lyrics are as relevant today as ever, and the Melvinator version was such a blast to create. I can’t wait to share it!

I am grateful for the space to explore my passions for Punk Rock & EDM and celebrate songs that NOFX fans know and love as much as I do.

Along with American Errorist, Regaining Unconsciousness will be on my debut album, 'The Rise of the Melvinator' which will be dropping soon. I’m stoked!”

With a packed schedule for 2023, Melvinator has teamed up with long-time friend, bandmate, and label boss Fat Mike as one of the first signings to his new label Bottles To The Ground. With the announcement of "Rise Of The Melvinator", he will offer fans brand new versions of NOFX staples. Produced by Fat Mike and recorded over the course of two years alongside producerBaz The Frenchman (NOFX – The Decline at Red Rocks) and Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails, the project continues Eric Melvin’s exploration of the do-it-yourself links between punk rock & EDM.

ABOUT MELVINATOR

Globally renowned guitarist, artist and founding member of punk rock heavyweights NOFX, Eric Melvin needs little introduction.

Adored by fans across the world, Eric Melvin has been at the pinnacle of his career for over 3 decades, playing to hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe each year, selling millions of albums, and sustaining a staggering 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify as part of NOFX.

Outside of his work with NOFX, fans have been eagerly watching Melvin's solo transformation into Producer /DJ for nearly 10 years; beginning with the now legendary "Mosh-Up" collection of mixes on Soundcloud which saw Melvin's entry into the world of mash-ups with short, sharp sets that seamlessly molded together punk rock, hip-hop, EDM & funk - and mixing the likes of NWA with Fugazi & The Circle Jerks!!

Harnessing the parallels between the DIY ethos and energy of punk rock & EDM - over the next few years, Melvin began refining his production skills by bending and blending genres to create a style of music that pays homage to his history whilst lighting a fuse on his future.

The sonic start to this journey came with Melvin's first commercial solo release under the moniker Melvinator, a remix of NOFX track "American Errorist". It now continues with the announcement of the debut, full-length album, The Rise Of The Melvinator.

Expect a groundswell of excitement from all corners of the globe.

This hasn’t been done before...

The Rise of the Melvinator is upon us.

Fat Mike of NOFX Launches New Label, Bottles To The Ground; Signs The Meffs, Codefendants and Melvinator

Right on the heels of the exoneration of his new band Codefendants, notorious punk rock legend Fat Mike announces the launch of a new record label, Bottles To The Ground. This label will be a halfway house for Codefendants, and a home for British punk duo The Meffs, NOFX’s Eric Melvin’s EDM project Melvinator, and others.

Fat Mike explains the origins of Bottles to the Ground

“When NOFX first played Amsterdam in 1988, we were invited to the closing night of one of the most infamous squats in the city. Not just a squat, this was a punk bar that instructed everyone to smash all glasses and bottles on the street after we emptied them. Apparently there would be no repercussions from the city because no one owned it. So, we drank all night along with hundreds of punks and every fucking bottle got smashed. To me, it looked like how punk rock music should feel. Bottles to the Ground is the beauty of disaster.”

Fat Wreck Chords now has a new imprint Bottles to the Ground. Fat Mike created this label for both his and NOFX’s music projects such as Codefendants and Melvinator, as well as other bands that do not fit the traditional Fat sound. This label is a collective not solely owned by Fat, but by all members of NOFX.

“Erin and I both decided that NOFX deserved to be co-owners for all their years of loyalty and support for Fat Wreck Chords. Of course, their percentage isn’t as big as mine, but hey…” - Fat Mike

Codefendants released the video for brand new track “Suicide By Pigs” last month. The track is now available on all streaming platforms alongside previous single “Abscessed”, listen to both HERE. Watch the music video for “Suicide By PigsHERE .

The Meffs’ new EP 'Broken Britain, Broken Brains Pt. 1' is released digitally along with a brand new music video featuring a cameo from album producer Frank Turner for the title track “Broken Britain, Broken Brains”. The EP can be listened to HEREwith physical copies being available to purchase HERE. Watch the video for “Broken Britain, Broken Brains below. Speaking on their new track, the band share

“"Broken Britain, Broken Brains" - A dialogue that resonates with the masses. This song spits truths about society, the daily grind and the price we pay for happiness. We owe you a beer if the chorus isn’t stuck in your head for the rest of the day. The video was filmed in Clacton-on-sea, where Lily was born and bred. Being about a 'Broken Britain' it felt apt filming by the most deprived town in the UK... on a boiling hot day.”

Melvinator will offer fans brand new versions of NOFX staples. Executive produced by Fat Mike and recorded over the course of two years alongside producer Baz The Frenchman (NOFX – The Decline at Red Rocks), this project continues Eric Melvin’s exploration of the do-it-yourself links between punk rock & EDM. His first release on the label, a reworking of “American Errorist”, is out today and available both on streaming platforms and as a 12” single featuring Melvinator’s original version and a remix by ZBA. Stream the track HERE, purchase the vinyl HERE and watch the music video for “American Errorist” below.

Speaking on his first official release on Bottles To The Ground, Melvinator shares:

“I’m so excited to share this track with the world. I have been experimenting in my private labs for what seems like an eternity, but I'm finally ready to start sharing my creations with you. While the synthesis of Punk Rock & EDM might seem like an unholy matrimony to some, I think more will delight in the similarities as I do. The high energy, the sonic intensity and the refusal to conform has made this path clear for me. I see connections in the most unlikely places. This just might be one of them. American Errorist is only the beginning! Thank you for being here with me and facilitating my artistic expression as this new landscape echoes with boundless possibilities.

Mel xoxo"

Look for many new BTTG releases next year.

One more round then it’s Bottles to the Ground, smashing of the glass, an imperfect perfect sound.“  - Fat Mike

NOFX's Fat Mike Launches New Musical Collective; CODEFENDANTS

When they decided to give MPC’s and distortion boxes to inmates….Crime Wave was born.

What if Killing Joke played reggae but with minor chords and Tom Waits was singing and playing piano? Well, that would probably be terrible. Codefendants are not.

Fat Mike of NOFX's newly launched project, Codefendants, are the breath of fresh air and the steel-toe-cap kick in the nuts music has needed for too long. Impossible to define by traditional standards, Codefendants were forged out of a desire to make an album that sounded like nothing else - a completely genre-fluid album - a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. And thus a whole new genre - Crime Wave was born.

Today they release the music video for “Suicide By Pigs”, Episode 1 of a cinematic pentalogy which succeeds previously released music video for Episode 2 and the track “Abscessed” which was surreptitiously released without fanfare on YouTube last month and has already racked up over 33k views. Watch both videos by clicking the images below or by clicking HERE and HERE. If you don’t want to ruin the viewing experience, watch Episode 2 first, followed by Episode 1. It will all make sense, just trust us.

Non-album versions of "Suicide By Pigs" (Baz Mix) and "Abscessed" (10" Version) are available as part of a newly released 10" split also featuring two Get Dead tracks "Safe Places" and "Pepperspray" (Chris Dugan Mix) , out now via Fat Wreck Chords HERE.

Sam King from Get Dead’s graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was in prison. Months later they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock, over a bottle of Jameson. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants.

They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with Fat Mike from NOFX as producer. Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album that sounded like nothing else. That album will be released in early 2023.

You can’t hear the band on streaming services yet, but you CAN listen to their 6 song demo cassette tape if you send $7 to a PO BOX in Brooklyn. Videos can be seen on YouTube… at least the ones that weren’t banned. They just finished filming a five- song video series that will probably not be seen on YouTube, but will be available at thisiscrimewave.com. The short movie, made up of the five music videos, features the legendary rapper DOC, N8NOFACE, 2Mex, and Stacey Dee from Bad Cop / Bad Cop.

All that Fat Mike has to say about their new album is,

”Get ready for the best aural sex of your life.”
