Frontiers Music Srl Announces the Return of the FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL!

After a six-year hiatus, Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL, set to take place on April 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2025, at the Live Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan).

The festival will feature a total of 21 bands in three days – an unmissable experience for all Melodic Rock/Hard Rock fans and will offer VIP experience packages and many other surprises that will be unveiled soon.

The First Seven Bands to Rock FRF 2025

WINGER:

Founded by bassist/singer Kip Winger, they have been and still are one of the driving forces of the U.S. Hard Rock scene coming out of the ‘80s. They released their seventh studio album, aptly titled 'Seven', last year, featuring their usual incredible instrumental and vocal prowess at the service of superb Hard-Rock songs and with an uncanny sense of melody.

The FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL show will be their last ever in Italy and will include all the original line-up members (Winger/Beach/Morgenstein/Taylor).

PRIDE OF LIONS:

One of the most relevant bands in the whole Melodic Rock / AOR scene worldwide. Led by legendary Grammy-winning songwriter and keyboards/guitar player Jim Peterik (co-founder of The Ides of March, co-writer with .38 Special and formerly of Survivor), together with powerhouse vocalist Toby Hitchcock. Get ready for some amazing and epic music, enriched by fabulous musicianship, unforgettable hits, and pure class!

BONFIRE:

Founded by guitarist Hans Ziller, they are one of the most important Hard Rock/Heavy Metal bands coming out of Germany, with a 35+ years career, bringing their unique sound made of catchy melodies, killer guitar-riffs and groovy rhythms.

With the new fantastic singer Dyan Mair on board, BONFIRE are ready to rock Italy with a storming performance, that will feature their big hits and new songs from the brand-new release coming out in January.

RONNIE ROMERO:

Ronnie Romero's voice and prolific musical output brought him to the forefront of the Hard Rock and Melodic Metal scene, having worked with artists and bands such as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, Sunstorm, and lately Elegant Weapons (featuring Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner). He has recently started a successful solo career with three albums and has proved throughout the years to be a force to be reckoned with. Ronnie was born to ROCK!

CHEZ KANE:

Hot British Rock singer Chez Kane has become a very appreciated name in the Melodic Rock scene, thanks to her two amazing albums, the self-titled debut (2021) and the follow-up 'Powerzone' (2022). Discovered and produced by Danny Rexon of Crazy Lixx, Chez Kane’s sound embraces the classic infectious ‘80s Melodic Rock style, but with a modern twist.

GIRISH & THE CHRONICLES:

Hailing from Bengaluru, India, Girish & The Chronicles have made their reputation among rock fans for their powerful vocals, striking guitars, thunderous bass, and pounding drums, staying true to the authentic ‘80s Heavy Metal/Hard Rock sound which they grew up with.

With three acclaimed studio albums and countless gigs in their home country as well as in Europe, Girish & The Chronicles have been steadily gaining popularity and prominence globally, also thanks to their vocalist Girish Pradhan, the leading force of the band.

FANS OF THE DARK:

Coming from Stockholm, Sweden the band was put together by drummer/songwriter Freddie Allen and lead vocalist Alex Falk in the summer of 2020, in the last 4 years they have released three albums plus a digital-only EP.

With a style that mixes classic and melodic Rock with the great Metal music of the '80s, some outstanding vocals, and some unique elements thrown in for good measure, Fans Of The Dark represents a striking breath of fresh air in the Rock scene.

These seven acts are just the start… Stay tuned as more bands to be revealed soon!

BLOODSTOCK reveal Lemmy Forever Memorial, Lemmy's Ashes to Live At BLOODSTOCK in 2024

BLOODSTOCK, by arrangement with Motörhead management, have announced that the legendary, late, great Lemmy Kilmister will be permanently memorialised at the heavy metal festival.  Some of Lemmy’s ashes will be housed at BLOODSTOCK- one of only a few places globally - in a unique urn, with the festival commissioning a Bust of Lemmy to incorporate the ashes.  Fans will be able to view the installation and pay tribute to Lemmy and his legacy in the RAM Gallery on site.  Once the festival is over, the Bust of Lemmy will move to Nottingham’s Rock City venue, where fans will have access to the ashes; they will return each and every year to their primary home on the hallowed turf of BLOODSTOCK at Catton Park.

Motörhead’s manager, Todd Singerman comments: “BLOODSTOCK has always been a special place for Motörhead and for Lemmy. The people and the energy matched Lemmy’s values perfectly. Alan and Vicky were also great friends, and basically family of Lemmy, as he was the reason that they originally got together. This is definitely a fitting honor in the continuing series of enshrinements of Lemmy’s ashes in his most loved places.”

BLOODSTOCK’s Vicky Hungerford adds “We were humbled and honoured to be approached by Motörhead management to have Lemmy’s ashes at BLOODSTOCK. Lemmy holds a very special place in everybody’s heart, but to myself and my husband he was the reason we met and fell in love. Nothing will mean more to us and the BLOODSTOCK family than to honour his legacy  and have Lemmy forever at BLOODSTOCK

The memorial will be part of a bigger picture theme for the festival this year to commemorate this special news and celebrate the remarkable legacy of Lemmy and Motörhead.  The RAM Gallery on site will be extended this year to accommodate an expanded Motörhead theme, including a full wall of Motörhead artwork, as well as archive memorabilia, plus you can relive a moment in time by visiting a recreation of Lemmy’s touring dressing room (attached on to the gallery, accessible from within the gallery marquee).  On site this year,  BLOODSTOCKers will see the Motörhead Bomber in the arena, witness various bands paying tribute to Motörhead in their live sets, and the opening and closing of the festival will be marked with a sounding of the famous Motörhead air raid siren.  BLOODSTOCK will also welcome Motörhead’s Phil Campbell to the festival this year and are thrilled to have his participation in these special celebrations. Even more Motörhead themed activations are still in the works, so stay tuned as this exciting development continues coming together.

Standard weekend tickets to BLOODSTOCK, priced at £185 (+ bkg fee) are available now in the 2024 ticket store. Early Bird, VIP and campervan tickets are already sold out.

BLOODSTOCK’s 2024 Ronnie James Dio main stage headliners are AMON AMARTH, OPETH, and ARCHITECTS. Across the weekend you can also expect to see CLUTCH, HATEBREED, CARCASS, ENSLAVED, MALEVOLENCE, SATYRICON, ROTTING CHRIST, SYLOSIS, WHITECHAPEL, DEICIDE, GRAND MAGUS, DESERT STORM, THE VINTAGE CARAVAN, SOEN, GREEN LUNG, COMBICHRIST, XENTRIX, EXIST IMMORTAL, ETERNAL CHAMPION, GROVE STREET, MIMI BARKS, CRYPTA, FORBIDDEN, NERVOSA, BEAST IN BLACK, KORPIKLAANI, UNLEASH THE ARCHERS, FLOGGING MOLLY, SEPTIC FLESH, IGORRR, RUIJIN, GROVE STREET, UNPEOPLE, NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, HELLRIPPER, INFECTED RAIN, CULTURA TRES, SADUS, LUDOVICO TECHNIQUE, BURNER, RED RUM, EVERGREY, RAISED BY OWLS, TAILGUNNER, SOUTH OF SALEM, and ANKOR with more still to be announced.

GET PASSES + TICKETS HERE

Upon revealing what was supposed to be the final lineup for Milwaukee Metal Festival 2024, the festival still has a surprise up its sleeves and is now welcoming DORO, ROSS THE BOSSand ATHEIST to the already stacked lineup!

Doro "The Metal Queen" Pesch got her start as the singer for Warlock, which was formed in her hometown of Düsseldorf in 1983. Blackbraid Live 2024:

"...you can hear a delicately strummed acoustic guitar here, a traditional flute there. Catchy riffs, most notably on the single 'The Spirit Returns,' coexist with ambitious tracks like the 13-plus-minute 'Moss Covered Bones on the Altar of the Moon,' which waxes and wanes like an epic saga." - The New York Times

"To get right to it, Blackbraid II is an early contender for black metal record of the year... able to take the traditional sounds of black metal and then further shape and move them in a very distinct and novel direction." - Metal Injection (10/10)

"...one of the finest albums to grace black metal in years and you just get the feeling there is still more to come from this truly special band." - Distorted Sound Magazine (10/10)

"Sgah’gahsowáh channels his heritage and love for the earth through his music, and with that, he also brings a certain energy that conjures up desert dunes and rolling planes from North America just as well as a Norwegian black metal band conjures up snowy, bleak hills." - Metal Sucks (4.5/5)

"...forging a new path forward for black metal in 2023, one that will likely continue to set him apart from his contemporaries and become one of the biggest new faces in the genre for years to come." - Heavy Music HQ (4.5/5)

'Blackbraid II' follows up the solo black metal project's critically-acclaimed debut, which was named among one of the best metal albums if 2022 by Rolling Stone (#14), Decibel Magazine (#4), Metal Hammer UK (#7), and more!

"I even wrote it down on a future goal plan for Metal Injection in the early days. When my Slay At Home virtual fest really took off during the pandemic, and reached communities in over 60 countries, it suddenly seemed possible, even overdue.

"Today, I bring you the first ever Metal Injection Festival. Two days days of killer bands ranging from thrash, death, industrial, hardcore, and more from legendary names to the ones worth discovering. We'll also have some really sweet giveaways, a learning area for amazing causes I believe in, and special setlists including the legendary Max & Iggor Cavalera performing Morbid Visions and Bestial Devastation records in entirety, and Fear Factory celebrating their game changing Demanufacture and 25th anniversary of Obsolete with us!

"Every new endeavor has to start somewhere, and I couldn't be more stoked to have this group of amazing bands be part of MI history!"

To further commemorate this exceptional event, Metal Injection is now sharing a special video announcement, which can be found below.

Sponsored by Metal Blade Records, Nuclear Blast, Century Media, Thunderflix and ESP Guitars, the face-melting program will also have a learning booth in support of two very important causes, MusiCares and Suicide Prevention. This initiative will help educate attendees on mental health awareness and related resources for fans and musicians in need.

That's not all! Courtesy of ESP Guitars, Metal Injection will be raffling off a pair of ESP axes signed by each headliner. Night one's guitar will be signed by Max Cavalera while night two's prize will be signed by Alex Skolnick.

Keep those horns high and mighty and stay tuned for more info!

Dance Gavin Dance Announce Swanfest 2023

Following the huge, sell-out success of Swanfest 2022, the one-day festival headlined and curated by Dance Gavin Dance, has today announced the festival's first ever East Coast edition, taking place at Mann Center, in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, October 1st. General admission tickets available on Friday, May 5th, with a limited-time early bird pricing of $59.99 from DGDSwanfest.com.

The festival's third year marks the first-ever East Coast Swanfest and will feature a robust package of amazing bands (TBA in the coming weeks) alongside Dance Gavin Dance.

Dance Gavin Dance will perform an extended set containing a diverse collection of their catalog, including some rarely played songs, the classic bangers, and select tunes from their highly acclaimed latest release, “Jackpot Juicer."

Speaking on today's announcement, Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance shares:

“We’re excited to bring Swanfest to the east coast for the first time. It means a lot to have so much support from our fans that we can create this experience and bring together a diverse community of music lovers for one epic night.”

Since their inception in 2005, Dance Gavin Dance has steadily built a huge cult following. Blending complex instrumentation with huge poppy choruses and raw, aggressive screams, they have fathered an entire genre of their own characterized by their signature combination of elements of post-hardcore, math-rock, progressive-rock, and post-rock. This has become aptly named 'Swancore' after the band's virtuoso guitarist, Will Swan and his record label Blue Swan Records.

This was the inspiration for the first-ever Swanfest which took place in 2019 at City National Grove of Anaheim. Headlined and curated by Dance Gavin Dance, the event was a phenomenal sell-out success, seeing over 7,000 fans in attendance - a rare feat for a festival in its first year. For its triumphant return in 2022, Swanfest took over Heart Health Park, in Dance Gavin Dance's hometown of Sacramento, CA - this time seeing 11,000 fans in attendance.

General admission tickets available on Friday, May 5th, with a limited-time early bird pricing of $59.99 from DGDSwanfest.com. Stay tuned for more Swanfest news soon.

Dance Gavin Dance released their latest album, 'Jackpot Juicer', back in July and ushered in the bands most successful week one sales ever, topping multiple charts and landing the band on the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 (#8) for the first time ever. The band released four singles prior to the album dropping - “Synergy” feat. Rob Damiani of Don Broco, “Pop Off”, "Die Another Day", "Cream of The Crop" and "Feels Bad Man". To date the album has clocked up 68 million streams and 8.2 million YouTube views since release.

About Dance Gavin Dance:

Rejecting tired formulas at every step, Dance Gavin Dance merge progressive rock and post-hardcore with thick groove, brilliantly combining experimental music with hooks and a warped sense of humor. The group has amassed over 1.6 billion global streams, and 1.4 million album equivalent units sold across their catalog in the US alone. With hundreds of thousands of rabid fans engaged with Dance Gavin Dance on socials and their very own festival event, Swanfest, which sold out its inaugural edition in 2019 and is slated to see a triumphant return in 2022 in the band's hometown of Sacramento this April, it all amounts to a full force band facing a mainstream that has overlooked them for too long.

As the undeniable statistics keep mounting up, the fact becomes more and more clear that Dance Gavin Dance are becoming one of this generation's most popular and enduring forces from the world of heavy music. As Pollstar put it "Sacramento, Calif.-based Dance Gavin Dance is not just any band."

“As a festival, Beyond the Gates is immediately lovable. Bergen is intrinsically part of that embrace… Sure, Norway’s expensive, but seeing the best bands out there, taking in a Tolkienesque fjord or two, pilgrimaging to Fantoft church, hitting up Gaahl’s art gallery (Galleri Fjalar) nestled in the quaint houses at Bryggen while Freyr gleefully and continually pisses rain on you from the heavens? All worth its weight in hordes of kroner.” - Decibel Magazine, December 2022 issue

GET BLACK METAL TOUR TICKETS

Due to high demand, Inferno Metal Festival Norway is now announcing additional black metal sightseeing tours on Friday, April 7, 2023 as tickets for the previously announced tour on April 6 have sold out!

This unique experience takes place during the 2023 edition of Inferno Metal Festival, which takes place in the heart of Oslo, Norway at the Rockefeller, John Dee venue during Easter weekend from April 6-9, 2023. The lineup and daily schedules for the festival can be found below.

Hosted by Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Satyricon, Order), the tour will take fans on a trip through the places that marked the beginnings of Norwegian black metal.

For the average music fan the story of Norwegian Black Metal is in essence something about murder, suicide and church burning. Between 1991 and 1993 many of the most important events in this dark chapter in Norwegian music history took place in Oslo and we have put together a field trip to the sights that takes you back in time.

Anders Odden formed his first black metal band, Slaught, in 1986 after attending a rehearsal with Mayhem at the age of 14. He was one of the pioneers in the infancy of the Norwegian scene dealing with tape trading, organizing concerts, and creating more and more extreme music on his own. He formed Cadaver in 1988 and released the first Norwegian death metal album on Earache Records in 1990. His band played shows with Darkthrone, Mayhem, Old Funeral and many more bands of what would become the Norwegian black metal scene in the beginning.

This field trip has exclusive anecdotes and personal memories of the early life of the scene from someone who was there. The schedule for the tour is as follows:

BLACK METAL BUS SIGHTSEEING – A FIELD TRIP THROUGH OSLO

12:00 Departure The Hub, Inferno Festival hotel.

12:30 Holmenkollen Kapell, re-done after church-fire 23rd of August 1992

The new exhibition investigates the dark and chaotic feelings of Norwegian black metal. Drawing from the library’s rich collection, the exhibition references ancient Norwegian cultural history and shows black metal as a music form with a distinct artistic expression The exhibition conveys how Norwegian black metal has had an impact far beyond Norwegian borders with a vast number of international followers.

The National Library of Norway invites fans and other lovers of music and cultural history to dig deep and explore Norwegian black metal as a music genre and a cultural phenomenon. There will be guided tours every day of the festival week.
