Heavy act DEFOCUS follow up on their previous three singles — "biased, "let the bond be my grave, and "crooked mind" — with their electrifying new single "flatlines." This release marks a thrilling preview of their upcoming album, there is a place for me on earth, set to hit the shelves on March 1 via Arising Empire.

Founded by Simon Müller, Jeffrey Uhlmann, Jonas Mahler, and Marcel "Bambam" Heberling, the Aalen-based quartet spent time making music together before coming to light in early 2019, instantly proving their worth in the scene with their energetic live shows and their debut album In The Eye Of Death We Are All The Same.

"Mastery of the essentials 7/10" — Metal Hammer

"Modern Metalcore, which qualitatively ranks directly at the top. At the latest, when an ARCHITECTS commemorative 'Blegh' is hurled at you in the first song, it's clear that DEFOCUS are taking their lead from the grandees" —  FUZE

Defocus Share "Crooked Mind" Video

DEFOCUS follow up on their previous two singles "biased" and "let the bond be my grave" with another blistering new track, which follows their debut album In The Eye Of Death We Are All The Same.

With "crooked mind," DEFOCUS shot sharp and hit straight into the listeners' brains. Once there, the song immediately unfolds its heaviness, guided by the mental chaos of the lyrics. When plagued by a crooked mind, people often feel as though they are not alone in their thoughts. Voices, speaking in unfamiliar ways, manipulate and distort their internal perception of self, creating a sense of disconnection and confusion.
