 Taken from their upcoming album DEATHMATCH, set for release on April 4 via SharpTone Records, the track dives deep into the struggles of repetitive cycles, self-doubt, and the painful realization of misplaced trust. The song's stunning music video, which premiered exclusively on Finnish television MTV3's Levyraati last Friday, delivers a visually striking interpretation of the song's emotionally charged themes.

"We all have patterns we struggle to break, and 'WAVES' is about drowning in the same mistakes, searching for a way out," shares vocalist Lotta Ruutiainen. "The song is about believing in someone or something that constantly lets you down; yet being unable to walk away because it feels like giving up on something you've worked so hard for."

With "WAVES," LUNA KILLS masterfully blends soaring vocal melodies, crushing guitar riffs, and atmospheric production, solidifying their status as one of the most exciting new acts in the alt-metal scene. The track serves as the fourth single from DEATHMATCH, following the success of "LEECH," "sugar rush," and "slay ur enemies." LUNA KILLS Share Video For New Single "LEECH"

LUNA KILLS, Finland's rising alt-metal sensation, have unleashed their ferocious new single, "LEECH," the third track taken from the recently announced album, DEATHMATH, set for release on April 4 via SharpTone Records. 

The album promises to be a defining statement for the band, showcasing their emotionally charged lyrics and unrelenting sound. Previously, LUNA KILLS released "sugar rush" and "slay your enemies," both of which earned critical acclaim and cemented the band’s place as a rising force in modern alt-metal.

Vocalist Lotta Ruutiainen commands the track with haunting, powerful vocals, while the band’s signature combination of heavy riffs, thunderous drums, and driving bass amplifies the song's dark yet anthemic energy.

"'LEECH' is a raw depiction of battling depression and thoughts of self harm,' vocalist Lotta Ruutiainen explains. "Its lyrics portray the denial and avoidance of facing the depths of the illness, even as it spirals out of control. Ultimately, it conveys the painful understanding of staying in that place, where fear and self-hatred have entwined so tightly with one's identity that they seem impossible to separate."
 
Ruutiainen shares a surprising insight into the creative process, saying, "The song was one of the last few we wrote for the album, and the music came together in a more relaxed and joyful manner than the lyrics might suggest. It's one of those songs that came together quickly because everyone instantly connected with the melodies and rhythms and had a shared vision for it."

Following the success of their crushing debut single "slay ur enemies," LUNA KILLS are keeping the momentum alive with the release of their second single, "sugar rush." The electrifying track balances ferocious riffs with haunting melodies, capturing the exhilarating highs and devastating lows of chasing fleeting thrills.

The band explains, "'sugar rush' captures the drive to pursue happiness in the face of persistent self-doubt. Centered around the struggle to find happiness despite a constant sense of never measuring up, the song delves into the pressures of a world that demands overachievement and monetization of everything, ultimately draining the joy from passions that once gave life meaning."

Reflecting on the song's creation, the band adds, "At the time, before we started writing 'sugar rush,' we had been working on other songs for a long period of time and we felt really exhausted and after multiple failed attempts of trying to force ourselves to focus, we felt that we needed to reset our brain and mindset. 'sugar rush' became a powerful outlet for all that we were going through, a way to channel exhaustion and frustration with the pressures of perfectionism and constant productivity. The creative process itself almost became a form of catharsis, a reset, allowing us to confront those feelings directly and then transform them into something meaningful."

LUNA KILLS have also revealed an exciting lineup of tour dates and festival appearances, starting with select shows in Finland and culminating in an album release show on April 5, 2025, at On The Rocks in Helsinki. They'll hit the stage both as headliners and in support of notable acts such as Blind Channel and Warmen, bringing their ferocious live energy to fans across Europ
